The trip was generally smooth. BUT, much to be desired in respect of your guide services, most of whom speak Spanish and unsatisfactory English. Those passagers, including ourselves, who do not understand Spanish were "information-handicapped".

Overall, had a good time on the tour courtesy of our experienced and friendly tour director Zsolt and highly-skilled driver Antonio. They were both very knowledgeable and friendly, providing many insights into the places we visited and lots of good humour as well. Despite a few unexpected issues during the trip, they worked extremely hard after hours to resolve them and ensure no disruption for the tour group. This was first tour my wife and I have done and we felt it allowed us to see a lot of Europe in a short period of time, with the trade-off being some very early starts and late finishes. To make the most of the tour, to will need to book the optional excursions as probably half the time on location is spent in some form of optional excursion. We found some of the local guides that are required to be used in Italy were not as good at leading the group as the tour director, leading to some confusion at times on the excursions. A few of the hotels felt a bit underwhelming in terms of location, food or broken amenities which could be due to the recent reopening from COVID but given we mostly were exploring throughout the days/evenings, the main issue with this was that some of the breakfasts were a little sparse. Altogether we found the tour quite enjoyable, with highlights for us definitely being Lucerne, Venice and The Isle of Capri. We would consider doing future tours with Cosmos, but given the pace of this tour and the amount of travel involved, we would likely pick shorter regional ones and do a few less of the optional night excursions to allow more time to self-explore.

This was a wonderful trip and Rose Brown is the best director. I traveled with granddaughters aged 26 and 14, and we all had a great time and learned a lot. There were some problems with one of our rooms at the Hard Rock Hotel (no AC) but the hotel moved the girls to a satisfactory room after the first night. Breakfasts at both hotels were excellent with a full selection of food and drinks. Every dinner was special and unique. We did almost all of the optional experiences, and every one was interesting and worth the cost. We saw so much in a short time, and Trafalgar/Rose plus expert driver Dave had it perfectly organized to get us through traffic and to the front of the very long lines. Again, Rose is the very best tour director who saw to our every need. This was my second trip with Trafalgar, and I can't wait to travel with them again.

Choosing a Paris day tour depends on your requirements. On this page we give you three options, from very independent through to fully guided. The choice is yours.

The Paris Special 1-day tour is for independently minded visitors and includes day return tickets on the Eurostar train together with the services of a guide for assistance and tips. Paris maps and information on getting the most from your day are provided and a one hour Paris river cruise is included.
The Welcome to Paris escorted 1-day tour adds a panoramic coach tour of the highlights of Paris to the train tickets plus a river cruise. You then have substantial free time to visit those Paris icons like the Eiffel Tower you want to spend more time at, or perhaps go shopping or take in Paris people watching from a typical Parisian cafe.
The Luxury Paris 1-day with 3 course lunch on Eiffel Tower is the ultimate day in Paris including all that the standard tour offers plus a 3 course lunch on the newly renovated restaurant on the 1st floor of the Eiffel Tower, in addition to a Seine river cruise in the afternoon.

Common features of all day tours to Paris from London

The common feature of all day tours to Paris is the Eurostar train service and the services of a tour manager for guidance and information.

In London the railway station is St Pancras International Station, just to the north of the very centre of London.

No hotel transfers are included to or from St Pancras.

It is an early start, you will need to be at St Pancras by 6 am to meet the tour representative. The tour representative will help you with check-in.

Note: you will need a passport and if applicable to your home country, a visa valid for visiting France.

You will have reserved seats on the Eurostar train. The train is scheduled to take around 2 hours 15 minutes to the centre of Paris.

On arrival in Paris, and through customs what happens next depends on the grade of tour purchased, (see detail below).

All tours include a 1-hour river cruise on the Seine but the cheapest tour does not offer the panoramic coach tour of Paris.

The return journey leaving Paris means you will be at check-in around 6 pm. (Note Paris and London are not co-ordinated on time zones and daylight summer saving. Most of the time Paris is 1 hour ahead of London.)

(Note the Louvre is closed every Tuesday and many Paris museums are closed one day a week - so if you have a particular place in mind to check out its opening days before you book.)

What To Expect

This packed, full-day tour allows you to experience some of France's most iconic attractions in a single day. Make your way to London's St Pancras International train station in the early morning, where a representative will meet you and help you board a high-speed Eurostar train bound for Paris. After the 2.5-hour journey, a local guide will meet you at the Gare du Nord station in Paris. Board a comfortable coach for a guided tour of Parisian landmarks, including the high-end shops and caf es of the Champs-Elys ees, the Arc de Triomphe, the iconic Opera Garnier, and the regal gardens and monuments of the Trocadero. After your city tour, climb to the second-floor observation deck of the Eiffel Tower for unmatched views of Paris. For lunch, you can enjoy a gourmet meal complete with a panoramic backdrop at the tower's on-site restaurant, or opt for a more casual bite from a street vendor or caf e (own expense). Next, pass through the outlying villages of Paris on the 1-hour drive to Versailles. Take an audio tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Palace of Versailles, which dazzles with excess at every turn. Walk down the shimmering Hall of Mirrors and learn about famous former residents with a glimpse of Marie Antoinette's bedroom and other opulent royal apartments. Step outside the palace for a stroll among the immense, Baroque-style Versailles Gardens, where you can wander down geometric hedge-lined paths and admire ornate fountains and flowerbeds.After the Versailles tour, your guide will deliver you back to the Gare de Nord station in Paris and assist you with boarding the return high-speed train to London.

Please note: On Monday 24 December 2018 (Christmas Eve) and Monday 31 December 2018 (New Year's Eve) there will be an early Eurostar return from Paris to London- Inbound train 9047 will depart from Paris Gare du Nord at 17:13pm arriving to London St Pancras International at 18:32pm. (Check-in time at Gare du Nord- 16:00pm).
