Arkansas's capital is packed with activities for a trip to the city.

The capital of the Natural State , Little Rock is best known for a couple of reasons. President Bill Clinton spent 16 years here as governor—the Clinton Presidential Center houses one of the largest archival collections in presidential history. The city also played a pivotal role in the civil rights movement, when a group of Black teenagers dubbed the “Little Rock Nine” helped pave the way for desegregation in schools. And, thanks to Little Rock’s location along the Arkansas River, there are ample outdoor recreational opportunities to be had here.

These well-known attractions are just some of the more exiting things to do in Little Rock. Travelers seeking art, culture, and food should add these favorite adventures to their Arkansas itinerary.

Check Out The River Market District

Little Rock Tourism

Exploring the River Market District is a must. This bustling area is Little Rock’s premier entertainment neighborhood—it’s filled with bars, restaurants, shops, and museums; the farmers market is also held here. You’ll find some of the city’s top attractions in this neighborhood, too, like the Clinton Presidential Center. Plan to spend the day browsing shops and museums, and come evening, soak up the thriving nightlife scene. You can even purchase an alcoholic beverage and sip it while walking around, as long as you grab an official RMED wristband and cup.

Picnic At The Old Mill

Arkansas Tourism

Visit Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site

One of the most important historic sites in the country (and still in operation as a high school), Little Rock Central High School was the epicenter of the desegregation crisis in the 1950s. In 1957, nine Black students enrolled at the formerly all-white school, following the 1954 Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education, which ruled that school segregation was unconstitutional. The “Little Rock Nine,” as they came to be known, endured hostility and abuse at the hands of white anti-integrationists when the students attempted to go to school. Today, visitors can either do a self-guided tour or a ranger-led tour of the school and view the exhibits at the Visitor Center across the street.

Arkansas State Capitol ; 500 Woodlane St, Little Rock, AR 72201; (501) 682-3000

Permanent exhibits include Tornado Alley Theater, where visitors can relive the tornado that devastated the Governor’s Mansion district of downtown Little Rock in 1999. The museum is situated alongside Riverfront Park, a gem of a park that has playgrounds, a splash park, meandering paths, history displays, and more than 100 works of art (the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden is located here).

Museum of Discovery ; 500 President Clinton Ave, Little Rock, AR 72201; (501) 396-7050

Bike Along The Arkansas River Trail

Cyclists of all levels bike along the Arkansas River Trail , a 17-mile loop that goes along the north and south banks of the river. This is one of the best ways to see the city, as you get to take in downtown and the riverfront and pass many key landmarks along the trail.

Sip Spirits At Rock Town Distillery

Arkansas’s first legal distillery since Prohibition, Rock Town Distillery churns out award-winning hand-crafted spirits, utilizing ingredients sourced from local farmers. Make time for the tour, where you’ll learn all about the origins of each spirit and taste eight of Rock Town’s own for yourself. The distillery also offers fun cocktail classes, during which participants learn how to make two seasonal cocktails (which you get to drink, of course).

Rock Town Distillery ; 1201 Main St, Little Rock, AR 72202; (501) 907-5244

Wander Through The Argenta Arts District

The Argenta Arts District is equal parts hip and historic, with a bevy of art galleries, music venues, theaters, and breweries, in addition to century-old buildings. Check out the Argenta Plaza Calendar before you go. There’s always a fun community event happening here, from concerts to art walks.

Take A Ride On A Streetcar

For a unique and convenient way to get around, the METRO Streetcar operates throughout the Little Rock and North Little Rock downtown areas seven days a week. Many of the city’s top destinations are linked on the streetcar line (and you don’t have to worry about parking), so it’s a great way to take in the sights. Download the METROtrack app to see how far away the next streetcar is at any given stop.

Stroll The Quapaw Quarter

The Quapaw Quarter is where you’ll find the oldest residential neighborhoods in the city. It comprises three districts: the Governor’s Mansion District, South Main Residential District, and MacArthur Park District. Some of the most notable landmarks in the Quapaw Quarter include the governor’s home, historic churches, Mount Holly Cemetery, and the Little Rock Arsenal Tower Building, a National Historic Landmark dating back to 1840.

Eat Lunch At The Root Cafe

The Root Cafe is a farm-to-table restaurant that’s as charming as they come. Located in SoMa, it’s the perfect lunch spot (and the Esse Purse Museum is right next door), with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and food that’s made fresh daily. As per their website, all of the meat, eggs, and bread they serve come directly from Arkansas farmers. The house-made bratwursts may be the star of the show, but there’s plenty else to keep diners of all palates and preferences happy.

In 1957, nine Black students enrolled at Little Rock Central High School. The school had been all-white since its construction in 1927. Minnijean Brown, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Thelma Mothershed, Melba Pattillo, Gloria Ray, Terrence Roberts, Jefferson Thomas and Carlotta Wells were the first Black students at the school following the 1954 Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education, which ruled that school segregation was unconstitutional. The day the students went to school, they were met with a racist mob of white students as well as about 270 soldiers who barred the entrance to the high school. It took almost two weeks before the Little Rock Nine were able to access the building. Though they were able to enter the school, they faced physical and verbal abuse throughout their high school careers. The Little Rock Nine's historic and brave acts helped to spur the civil rights movement and brought national attention to the U.S.'s racist practices.

Today, Little Rock Central High School is a National Historic Site and is still a working high school. The associated visitor center sits kitty-corner to the school and features exhibits about the desegregation crisis as well as a book store. There is also a Commemorative Garden. Tours of the exterior of Little Rock Central High School are also available, but must be reserved in advance through the National Park Service.

For dessert, enjoy a slice of Allen’s famous buttermilk pecan pie with homemade whipped cream. If you have food allergies, let us know, we will try our best to accommodate you!

Last but certainly not least, a visit to Poultryville to meet the chickens and other animals. Learn about Allen’s effort to conserve America’s early poultry breeds and why he started the Heritage Poultry Conservancy. While you are there, say hi to your favorite farm animals from Allen’s television show—Trudy, Moose, Smudge & Squeak, just to name a few.

Touring the grounds will be comprised of up to 2 miles of walking. Wear comfortable walking shoes. There is a lot of walking, but you can do as much or as little as you want.

Gates will be open 30 minutes before the scheduled tour. A Digital or printed ticket is not needed for entry. Your name will be on the list at the registration area located near the restrooms in the parking area.

We do not cancel for rain. Bring your umbrella and rubber boots!

Please note our lunch & tours are typically not kid-friendly unless clearly noted due to the subject of the event. All guests, regardless of age, must purchase a ticket.

Under Arkansas law, an agritourism activity operator is not liable for the injury or death of a participant in an agritourism activity resulting from the inherent risk of animals, weather, land conditions, and the potential for you as a participant to act in a negligent way that may contribute to your own injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in the agritourism activity.

Tourists flock to Little Rock ahead of total solar eclipse

We're now less than 24 hours from the total solar eclipse that is set to happen on April 8, 2024.

Arkansas is one of several states in the path of totality for the eclipse, and this weekend you've probably noticed an overflow of people who are all excited to be able to experience a once-in-a-lifetime event.

"We're from Washington D.C. and I have an office out here in Little Rock, so I figured I'd come and see my friends plus work a little bit plus come to see the eclipse," one visitor said.

However, for some, the eclipse on Monday afternoon won't be the first time that they have experienced such an incredible solar phenomenon.

"We're really excited. I haven't seen one [since] I was three in 2017 and I can't wait," one young visitor said.

One Little Rock native explained how the upcoming eclipse has been a great eye-opener for people from all different backgrounds who will be bonding together over a common interest.

"This is a good example of our community collectively coming together for something happy. We've had such horrible things the last few years, so this is a way for people to come and not talk about politics, you're not talking about death or the coronavirus, you're just having a party," she described.

For most of the visitors here in the Natural State, this is their first time in Arkansas. Many have said that they plan to make another trip to visit again sometime soon.

"It's been really good, we got Italian ice cream, and we just plan to come back and visit again," a visitor explained.

For more information about the eclipse on April 8, 2024, please visit THV11.com/eclipse .

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry (L) and lead singer Steven Tyler perform in concert.

No need to “Dream On” much longer.

Aerosmith has finally announced the rescheduled dates of their ‘Peace Out’ farewell tour with special guests The Black Crowes and Teddy Swims on select dates.

The 40-concert jaunt will take the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers to arenas all over North America from September 2024 up until February 2025.

Notable shows include stops at Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center on Saturday, Dec. 28 and New York’s Madison Square Garden on Feb. 23, 2025.

Their last gig is scheduled for Feb. 26, 2025 at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center .

This upcoming trek will be the second attempt at rescheduling the tour; Steven Tyler sustained vocal cord damage at a Sept. 9, 2023 concert in Long Island — just three shows into their run — and the band had to postpone indefinitely.

“All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled shows,” Aerosmith shared on Instagram .

If you haven’t gotten tickets yet and want to sing along to “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way,” “Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” and so many more hits one last time, tickets can be scooped up for all ‘Peace Out’ concerts as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 12, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Aerosmith tickets 2024-25

A complete calendar including all rescheduled ‘Peace Out’ tour dates, venues, and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Aerosmith band members

The original Aerosmtih lineup won’t be fully intact on this run of concerts.

Yes, lead singer Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton and rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford are slated to perform at all shows.

However, drummer Joey Kramer will be sitting this run of shows out to “focus his attention on his family and health” according to  AP News .

Kramer, 72, will be replaced by John Douglas who has drummed with the band since 2019.

Aerosmith set list

Aerosmith got three shows deep into their ‘Peace Out’ Farewell Tour before postponing.

For a closer look, here’s what they played at a recent live show courtesy of  Set List FM :

01.) “Back in the Saddle” 02.) “Same Old Song and Dance” 03.) “Rag Doll” 04.) “Livin’ on the Edge” 05.) “Janie’s Got a Gun” 06.) “No More No More” 07.) “Cryin’” 08.) “Adam’s Apple” 09.) “Hangman Jury” 10.) “Seasons of Wither” 11.) “Movin’ Out” 12.) “Love in an Elevator” 13.) “Stop Messin’ Around” (Fleetwood Mac cover) 14.) “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” 15.) “Rats in the Cellar” 16.) “Sweet Emotion” 17.) “Toys in the Attic”

18.) “Dream On” 19.) “Walk This Way”

The Black Crowes

On all dates except their opener when they’ll perform with Teddy Swims, Aerosmith will be joined by  The Black Crowes aka Rolling Stone’s “best new band of 1990.”

The band, known for mega hits “Hard To Handle” and “She Talks To Angels,” is also conducting a solo tour of their own this year including a show at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on April 27.

If you want to see them live, click here to see The Black Crowes’ complete 2024 tour calendar.

Steven Tyler controversy

In 1973, the 25-year-old Tyler was given guardianship of 16-year-old Julia Holcomb so the two could live together.

After a tumultuous three-year relationship, the two broke up.

Nearly 50 years later, Holcomb — who now goes by Julia Misley — filed a lawsuit in December 2022. In the suit, she claimed Tyler sexually assaulted her, forced her to abort their child, and convinced her to drink and take drugs after he promised to serve as her guardian.

In the trial, Tyler alleged the relationship was consensual and had immunity because of his guardian status.

Legal experts have since said “caregiver immunity” does not exist if you sexually abuse the person you’ve taken in.

“The lawsuit came in the final days of California’s Child Victims Act, which temporarily lifted the statute of limitations for survivors of childhood sexual abuse to come forward with their allegations,” Consequence of Sound reported.

Jeanne Bellino, another minor that was sexually abused by Tyler in the 1970s, also filed a lawsuit against him; US District Judge Lewis Kaplan threw the case out this February because she “had waited too long to sue Tyler under a New York City law protecting victims of gender-motivated violence,” Reuters wrote.

“(Kaplan) said Bellino did not qualify for a two-year window to pursue claims that would otherwise extend beyond statutes of limitations, because she did not allege that Tyler’s conduct posed a “serious risk of physical injury.”

Rock Icons Aerosmith Historic Farewell Tour “Peace Out”™ Continues With Rescheduled Little Caesars Arena Performance Saturday, January 4, 2025

(DETROIT – April 10, 2024) – Today, four-time Grammy® award-winning and diamond-certified rock legends Aerosmith announce their return to the road with “PEACE OUT™” featuring special guests The Black Crowes. The show, originally scheduled for September 2023, will now take place at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday, January 4, at 7 p.m. Fans first heard that one of the most significant American rock bands in history were embarking on their final tour with a special announcement video celebrating this not-to-be-missed final tour.

Tickets for the rescheduled performance go on sale on Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at 313Presents.com , LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com . All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled show. Ticketholders will receive more information via email.

  • VIP: The tour will also offer a variety of different VIP packages and experiences for fans to take their concert experience to the next level. Packages vary but include a premium reserved ticket, limited edition merchandise and more. For more information, visit aerosmith.com/vip.

Every night will pay homage to the five decades of Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits as they celebrate over 50 years as America’s greatest rock band. In addition, THX will bring their THX Certified Live! high-fidelity experience on the road, calibrating each arena with leading-edge technology so fans don’t miss a beat of Aerosmith’s classic rock tunes in quality audio.

Produced by Live Nation, the monumental 40-date North American tour will include 3 news shows in addition to the rescheduled dates. “PEACE OUT™” is set to kick off in Pittsburgh, PA and include stops in iconic arenas across the U.S. and Canada, including Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, New York’s Madison Square Garden, Austin’s Moody Center, Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, Chicago’s United Center, Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, and more before wrapping in Montreal, QC at Bell Centre on January 26, 2025. Additionally, a very special one-night-only performance from Teddy Swims is set at the tour kickoff in Pittsburgh, PA.  Another highlight of the tour will be a stop in Boston for a special hometown show on New Year’s Eve 2024.

When the tour originally kicked off in September 2023, the Associated Press lauded it as “positively brilliant,” while USA Today noted that “the band was in peak form for this victory lap.” Echoing this sentiment, the Philadelphia Inquirer praised Aerosmith’s “ability to make such a grand-scale performance feel like a raw and raucous club date,” while PEOPLE described the show as “epic,” declaring that “Aerosmith is peacing out with a bang.” The 2024 run promises fans an electrifying show of Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits performed in an immersive 360° production as they celebrate 50 years as America’s greatest rock band.

About Aerosmith

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members Aerosmith have sold more than 150 million albums around the world, produced genre-defining music videos such as “Amazing,” “Crazy,” “Janie’s Got A Gun,” “Livin’ On The Edge,” and “Love In An Elevator,” and launched extravagant record-shattering global tours, most recently with their smash hit Las Vegas residency. The band has broken numerous boundaries, including becoming the first rock band with a massive commercially successful hip-hop collaboration with Run DMC on “Walk This Way” and the first hard rock band to appear during a Super Bowl Halftime Show with their 2001 performance, and in 1999, Aerosmith became the first band to have their own themed attraction at Disney World in Florida and later Paris with the launch of the Rock ‘N’ Roller coaster starring Aerosmith. For more information, visit Aerosmith.com.

About The Black Crowes

The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it’s arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at its very best - gritty, loud, and in your face. Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they’ve made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker , the album that put them on the map. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it’s finally here - Happiness Bastards is out now.

Little Rock Sculpture Tour

Public art is transforming America’s urban landscapes, and the city of Little Rock is no exception. What began in 2004 with six bronze sculptures along President Clinton Avenue in the River Market District, now consists of more than 100 pieces that can be seen and enjoyed by visitors and residents alike, as they walk throughout our city - in Riverfront Park long the banks of the scenic Arkansas River, around pockets of downtown, and in areas of Midtown and West Little Rock.

From the majestic to the whimsical, there is much to discover in the many creations. Learn more about each individual piece with a self-guided digital tour.
