How we use your data

When you use your Travel South Yorkshire account to apply for one of our passes, we will use the information you provide to contact you about your pass for the period it remains valid for. You can see how we use and store your data in our  Privacy Policy .  We collect your information on behalf of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. It will be held and processed by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority for the purpose of administering any application you may make for one of our passes, and we won’t pass your information on to any organisation outside the Travel South Yorkshire partnership.

If you’re aged 16 to 18 and live in South Yorkshire you can get a Zoom 16-18 Travel Pass.

The Zoom 16-18 Travel Pass entitles pass holders to travel on buses and trams in South Yorkshire for 80p per single journey and gives access to discounted 1, 7 or 28 day tickets. Pass holders are also entitled to half fare on local train services in South Yorkshire.  You must live in South Yorkshire to be eligible .

You will need to provide proof of your age, this could be a copy of:

• Your birth certificate

• Passport

• Driving Licence

• NHS medical card or prescription

• Any other official letter that states your date of birth.

• If you have a Driving Licence or Passport we can check your proof of age instantly online.

•          This pass is free
•          You can travel on any bus or tram in South Yorkshire for 80p per single journey
•          You can buy discounted 1, 7 or 28 day public transport tickets
•          You can get half price travel on local trains in South Yorkshire
•          Valid for up to 2 years depending when you turn 18
•          You must live in South Yorkshire and your household must pay council tax to Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham or Sheffield council

Zoom Beyond 18-21 Travel Pass free for young people – discounted travel available

The Zoom Beyond 18-21 Travel Pass is free to apply for and available to young people aged 18-21 living in South Yorkshire. Pass holders can travel for the concessionary fare of 80p per single journey on buses and trams in the region.

Eligibility

• Live in South Yorkshire
• Aged between 18 and 21.

If you have a 16-18 Travel Pass, due to expire in 2021, we will aim to issue you with a Zoom Beyond 18-21 Travel Pass. This pass will be valid for use from 1 August.

If you haven’t received your Zoom Beyond 18-21 Travel Pass by 12 June 2021, please call Traveline on 01709 515151. 

• Travel anytime, anywhere in South Yorkshire for 80p, on bus or tram  
• Valid for up to one year (until 20 June 2022 or the day before your 22nd birthday, whichever is sooner)  
• Free of charge (first issue)

•  Log-in > Select Passes from the top menu> Concessions > 18-21 Travel Pass
•  Complete all personal details and upload proof documents – visit our  ‘What you need to apply’ guidelines page
•  Upload your photo – see the  ‘Acceptable Photograph’ guidelines page   as an unsuitable photo could delay your application
•  Check your order and go to checkout.

If all the details are correct your pass will be dispatched within 11 days of receiving your completed online application.

Coronavirus update – postal/drop box pass applications

Things are a little different at the moment, and as such we are unable to offer paper application forms in the same way as we used to.  However, if you are unable to apply online, please give the Traveline team a call on 01709 515151, and they will happily talk to you about your options.

South Yorkshire

With a Senior Pass you are entitled to free off peak travel on buses across England (plus additional concessions in South Yorkshire) through the English National Concession Travel Scheme (ENCTS).

Description

Eligibility .

• You must live in South Yorkshire
• From your 66th birthday

You can apply for your pass online up to 2 weeks in advance of when you qualify.

• Free travel on local bus services and trams within South Yorkshire between 0930 and 2300 on weekdays, and at any time during the weekend and on Bank Holidays.
• Half fare on Northern train services for travel between stations on the South Yorkshire rail network between 0930 and 2300 on weekdays, and at any time during the weekend and on Bank Holidays
• Free travel on buses in all other parts of England between 0930 and 2300 on weekdays, and at any time during the weekend and on Bank Holidays. (This pass is not valid on tram services outside South Yorkshire.)
• Free of charge (first issue)
• Free travel on Stagecoach services to hospital appointments before 0930 - please visit the Stagecoach website for further details.

Please be aware that no pass means that you could pay full fare.

Complete all personal details and post to the address below together with a photograph and photocopies of proof documents.

If all the details are correct your pass will be dispatched within 25 days of receiving your completed application form.

Please note proof documents must be photocopies and not original documents as all documents are destroyed once the pass is ordered.

A completed application form can also be submitted by dropping it off at the Customer Service Desk at your local  Travel South Yorkshire Interchange .

Pass Protection

Pass protection can be taken out against Senior Citizen Passes for £5 for the duration of your pass, up to five years.

This will enable you to replace your old pass free of charge should you lose it during the time in which it is valid.

Zoom 16-18 travel pass.

The Zoom 16-18 Travel Pass  gives discounted travel across South Yorkshire all year round for 16-18 year olds.

Passes are valid for up to two years and expire on 31 July of the second year in further education, apprenticeship or employment.

The discounted fares include:

• 80p per single journey on bus and tram
• half price rail fare on Northern trains
• a range of operator discounted tickets on production of a Zoom 16-18 Travel Pass

Who can get the Zoom 16-18 Travel Pass

All young people aged 16-18 living in South Yorkshire are eligible, including those in apprenticeships and employment.

You can apply for a Zoom 16-18 Travel Pass online by setting up a MyTSY account.
