Intrepid Travel Vietnam Hoi-An group street

Take an unforgettable adventure through two of the most colourful yet contrasting cultures in South East Asia. Starting off in Vietnam, cruise through dramatic karst scenery on a boat tour of Ha Long Bay, step back into the world of the country's last emperors in Hue, soak up the old-world charm of Hoi An and be awed by the endless energy of Ho Chi Minh City. In Cambodia, discover the country's fascinating history and culture in Phnom Penh's heaving streets and in the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor. This is a journey that draws you away from the crowds and into heart and soul of this captivating region, and its equally enchanting people.

Trip overview

  • Sail through Ha Long Bay’s limestone karsts and island caves, visit a centre that turns the bay’s discarded trash into treasures and spend the night checking out the stars on an overnight cruise.
  • Travel like a local on a motorbike tour, riding pillion and taking in the historical pagodas, bridges and villages of Hue.
  • Watch the sun rising over Angkor Wat as it did over 800 years ago with your leader. Wander through the amazing ancient temples on a guided tour and with a three-day Angkor pass to cover your whole time in Siem Reap, you can explore this incredible temple complex as much and as often as you like.
  • Discover the countryside around Battambang on a bike ride around rural farms to meet with local producers, through an Intrepid partner and social enterprise that supports the local communities.
  • Experience life on water on a boat tour visiting the floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake and understand the deep bond between the late and the local communities.
  • In order to see as much as possible, this trip involves some long journeys, including by overnight train where the amenities are shared and basic. For more about what this experience is like, see our blog post here:
  • intrepidtravel.com/adventures/what-to-expect-on-an-overnight-train-in-vietnam/
  • Depending on where you come from, the weather in Vietnam might be hotter and more humid than what you are used to. Please consider your suitability to the season you wish to travel in. Check out intrepidtravel.com/vietnam/weather-in-vietnam for more info.
  • There are some long travel days by both private and public transport (up to 10 hours on the road), including the days that you cross from Vietnam to Cambodia and Cambodia to Thailand. Your leader and local guides will assist with the border crossings, but plenty of patience is advised.
  • Some travellers enjoy Siem Reap so much that they decide they want to stay there longer, rather than continuing with the group to Bangkok. You are welcome to sign off the trip to enjoy more of Cambodia, however we aren’t able to reimburse any unused services or provide alternate onward travel arrangements.
  • At times your accommodation may not have continuous hot water. Most travellers don’t find this a problem however, and are often keen to cool down from the heat with a refreshing cold shower.

You'll get to sample delicious Vietnamese cuisine like a true local, stroll through the hidden alleyways and bustling markets and take in a spectacular view of Hoan Kiem lake from a secret café. Or maybe take it at your own pace and wander the Old Quarter to admire the city’s French-colonial architecture.

Travel by private minibus to World Heritage-listed Ha Long Bay, which is dotted with sandy coves, grottoes and 1600 limestone islands formed over millennia by wind and water erosion. Board a private boat and cruise the bay, exploring Surprise Cave and perhaps even enjoying a swim from Ti Top Island Beach during the warmer months. Access to Surprise Cave is via staircases. Once inside the cave the pathways are a little uneven and slippery. To end the day, spend an evening aboard the boat beneath the night sky. What better way to get to know your fellow travellers than an old school sleepover in an unforgettable location?

  • Overnight boat (1 night)
  • Halong Bay - Overnight Boat Cruise
  • Halong Bay - Cave entry
  • Halong Bay - Kayaking Tour - VND250000

Your travel time today will be approximately 4 hours.

Your wooden junk-style boat has twin-share cabins with air-conditioning and private facilities. There's also a dining room and bar to enjoy lunch, dinner and breakfast.

Kayaking and swimming is restricted to designated zones within the bay.

There are restrictions on the number of boats that are permitted to stay in the bay overnight, sometimes resulting in a shortage. To ensure all Intrepid travellers can enjoy the experience of a night on the water, occasionally you will stay on a larger boat (with approximately 12 cabins) and share your boat with another group. Or your group may be split across different vessels, in which case an Intrepid group leader will be present on each boat. The route taken and inclusions on board will remain the same.

Wake up on the waters of Ha Long Bay, and before you leave the memorable scenery behind, it’s time for one last stop. The Green Life Centre is committed to turning Halong Bay’s trash into treasure by collecting discarded items and skillfully turning them into beautiful handicrafts. Meet the team behind this important cause and learn how to transform rubbish into a useful and reusable bag. After your visit, return by bus to Hanoi. Arrive late this afternoon and enjoy free time until tonight’s train voyage. Be sure to grab a bowl of pho while you’re in town and slurp down this local specialty made from broth, noodles and meat. Maybe chill by Hoan Kiem Lake until you board an overnight train to Hue this evening.

  • Overnight sleeper train (1 night)
  • Halong Bay - The Green Life Visit

Your travel time today will be approximately 3 hours, not including your overnight train.

Shared day use hotel rooms are arranged in Hanoi if you would like to freshen up before the overnight train (one room for every six group members).

Sleeper trains typically have four or six berth compartments with bench seats that convert into sleeping bunks. A sheet, pillow and blanket are provided, although some travellers prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet. Depending on the configuration of the group, you may need to share with people of different genders or passengers who aren’t part of the group. Your leader will coordinate this and give further information about the train.

Arrive in Hue this morning and transfer to the hotel. Once the imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue holds the treasures of the country’s royal past. Enjoy free time in the morning to rest or explore. If you choose the latter (and who can blame you) the bustling Dong Ba Market is a great place to sample some of the specialties that once graced the Nguyen emperors' tables like banh khoai (royal rice cake). Reunite with the group to visit the war-damaged ruins of the Imperial Citadel, a sprawling city-within-a-city which contains the remains of temples, state houses and the emperor’s palace.

There are no meals included on this day.

  • Hue - Imperial City entrance and guided visit

See Hue like a local – from the back of a motorbike! Straddle the saddle and whiz around town with a local guide, taking in historic and contemporary sights along the way. Stop at Thanh Toan to see the 18th-century covered bridge and villagers shopping at their local market. Visit the 17th-century active Buddhist monastery of Thien Mu Pagoda and see the car that belonged to Thich Quang Duc, the monk who self-immolated in 1963 in protest against the treatment of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese regime. For lunch, savour a vegetarian feast in a nunnery. Finish at the lakeside royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc before heading back to town.

  • Hue - Royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc
  • Hue - Highlights & back streets by motorbike
  • Hue - Thien Mu Pagoda
  • Hue - Motorbike Tour Lunch

The motorbike tour has been assessed for safety and is closely monitored. To participate please ensure your travel insurance covers riding pillion on a motorbike up to 125cc. If you prefer not to participate, please let your leader know and they will arrange car transportation (cost included).

This morning travel by bus through coastal rice paddies and the spectacular Hai Van Pass. After a photo stop on the way, arrive into Hoi An. Recently declared a World Heritage site, Hoi An was a major international trading port during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Today, parts of the beautifully-preserved town retain the feel of centuries past. It's also a shopping mecca, famous for its plethora of tailors. When you arrive, your leader will take you on a sightseeing walk through the Old Town to visit a handful of the city's major attractions. You’ll also be given a sightseeing pass so you can further explore select attractions at your leisure.

After, paddle in sampans (small rowing boats) past coconut trees along the Mekong Delta. Take a tuk-tuk tour around the villages and learn about rural life and the industry created around coconut products like brooms and coconut fibre mats. Eat lunch at a restaurant in the heart of the Delta, sampling regional specialties such as the famous elephant ear fish. Travel by public bus across the border, through rural Vietnam and Cambodia and onto Phnom Penh. Cambodia's capital city is set on a major junction of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers and boasts some fine examples of French-inspired architecture. If you're looking for a tasty beverage when you arrive, head for a mojito on the rooftop or if you're in the mood for shopping, stop in at the art-deco Psar Thmei (Central Market) or travel out to Psar Tuol Tom Pong (the Russian Market) for the best range of local souvenirs.

Your travel time today will be approximately 10 hours including border crossing and lunch stop.

On the bus journey across the border, you will exit Vietnam at Moc Bai and enter Cambodia at Ba Vet. Your leader will assist you with border crossing procedures. You will also have the comfort of being on the same bus throughout the journey with less hassle at the border crossing by changing vehicles. If you’d prefer not to travel by bus today, you are welcome to book a flight instead (at your own expense).

Today, confront Cambodia's tragic past on a guided tour of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21), a former school which served as a Khmer Rouge torture centre. It's estimated that more than 20,000 people were held and tortured here. You’ll also head out to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, where a stupa made up of some 8000 human skulls marks the execution ground for the torture victims of Tuol Sleng. Afterwards, you may wish to learn about a brighter period in Cambodian history from an optional visit to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. Wat Phnom, shrouded in myth, is equally worth a visit, as is the National Museum with its excellent Khmer collection. Cyclo tours around the city are a great alternative to walking and generally include the Central Market, US Embassy, Wat Phnom, Mekong riverfront, the Independence Monument and Royal Palace.

This is an important part of Cambodia’s recent history that we feel is important for travellers to know. If you would prefer not to join these activities your leader can recommend some optional alternatives. Some further information on visiting these sites can be found here: intrepidtravel.com/adventures/importance-visiting-cambodia-killing-fields

How Much Does a 2-Week Vietnam and Cambodia Tour Cost?

A private tour in Vietnam and Cambodia can be an exclusive, stress-free, and affordable experience for both families and couples.

Generally, you would usually need to pay around US$200–250 per day per person (including airfares within Vietnam and Cambodia, 4/5-star hotels, lunches, attractions, private guides, and private transfers). Kids below 10 would get around 30% to 50% discounts.

Thus, a typical private tour to Vietnam and Cambodia usually costs US$9,500–12,000 for a family trip with 2 adults and 2 kids, while a couple can expect to spend around US$5,600–7,000, excluding the cost of international flights to and from their home country.

Insider's Tips on Cost

The price usually fluctuates as the weather changes in SE Asia. Owing to the drier weather, you can expect the peak prices between November and April, especially around the Christmas and New Year holiday periods. Early bookings 3-6 months beforehand would be ideal to secure the best deals.

The lowest costs usually come from May to October , in the rainy season. Rarely with constant rainfall for even a whole day, traveling to Vietnam and Cambodia can still be fun-filled and mostly dry with a well-organized and flexible private rainy-season tour.

To balance the price and weather prospects, traveling just before or after the high season (late October and early May) is a wise choice for a compromise.

This is a repost from the Budget Forum as someone recommended this may be a better forum to post this question on :)

Hi Everyone,

This has probably been asked before but I can't seem to get a direct answer so I am posting my own questions. Apologies if it has been asked recently.

My questions to the TA community now is -

1 - Has anyone done this particular tour before and how is it? Hotel's seem nice but photos can be deceiving.

2 - Are the gratuities/tips compulsory? Is it actually $20 per couple or can we pick the amount we pay? I know they accept AUD but can someone please confirm this too.

I would never recommend TripADeal to anyone. We haven't been on our trip yet so that may be a bit harsh and the trip itself may be lovely but the customer service is pretty atrocious. And there are a lot of hidden fees making the trip a lot more expensive than advertised. I know I sound sookie, which is usually not the case but I am not happy with them at all so at this point in time, I just want this holiday to be done and over with.

Thanks in advance for any comments/feedback I may get :)

Have you tried to cancel and get your money back? You seem to have got a really bad deal!

trip a deal vietnam and cambodia

I haven’t done a tour, but I do object to being told what to tip. Your cost, which is hefty is for the trip and everything it includes therefore tipping is surely at your discretion. If it’s too late to cancel, and to make the most of the holiday, I would just put what you think is fair in an envelope. It’s your trip, don’t let others dictate how you should spend your money when it’s for a service you have already paid for.

A quick update in case this thread comes up on someone's search result list and they wanted a concrete answer and a review of the tour mentioned above :)

We just got back from our 14 (13 rather) Day Trip. We enjoyed it, particularly the group of people we travelled with. Will I do another TripADeal tour again? The answer is, Maybe.

I am going to break-up my review into different categories. It's important to note that this tour was organized by a Third Party company working with TripADeal called Vacation IndoChina.

Tipping/Gratuities

What is recommended is definitely an indicative figure. We paid what we thought the tour guide and the driver deserved. The most we tipped was $40 to one lady because she was with us for four days and was exceptional. In total, we spent approximately $160 in tips to drivers, guides, busboys and waiters.

Tour Guides

This was interesting. We got five tour guides in total and all of them were very different.

- Henry in Hoi An : Henry was not a good tour guide. He droned on and on when he spoke, made crude jokes about 'Morning Glory' when there was a 10 year old around, did not know how to read his audience and wasn't very friendly. When one couple got their card eaten by the ATM, he laughed and said that's Vietnam and didn't offer any help or assistance. The kicker was, he complained about the tip he received. He pestered us with an envelope right after lunch for tips for both him AND the driver. Then after checking his tip after we got on the bus, he lectured us about what the right amount to tip was and that it's meant to be $10! It was appalling. Coming off the back of Hung/Hero, this guy left a very bad taste in all of our mouths.

- Sally in Ho Chi Minh City : oh man, I was hating on tour guides when I landed in HCMC but Sally was such an awesome little surprise. A bite-sized pocket rocket, Sally weaved and danced around HCMC with us and we were thoroughly delighted by her wit and quirkiness. She is the only one who got a substantial tip from us as she even went all the way to Cambodia with us (I really don't think she needed to). Sally, if you are reading this someday or Vacation IndoChina, if you are, she is an absolute asset and do not let her go. She really cares about her group and goes the extra mile to make it comfortable and safe for all of us.

- Lucky in Phnom Penh: Lucky was a slightly forgettable tour guide. He was nice and friendly and informative and his mother went through the genocide trauma on her own with 9 kids, which was very sad to hear as all his stories were personal however after Sally, he barely made a dent in our tour experience.

- Rocky in Siem Reap: Rocky was similar to Henry but not quite as abhorrent. He was still chasing the bling but very informative and knew his way around the temples. He was funny too at times which is good. But we all felt like he worked for the tip instead of creating the experience so a bit meh.

All the provided food in the tour, except for brekkies at the hotel, were shared dishes between four people. Which left a lot of people hungry but you take it as it comes. Food was generally delicious but very tourist-oriented and nothing genuinely local, if that makes sense. Point of note, in Hanoi they are still big on dog meat. The word for dog meat is Thit Cho and cat meat is Thit Meo (the irony). Please read the menu carefully when ordering in case you don't want to eat poor old Buster. This is not so much a problem in Hoi An or HCMC or Cambodia but definitely still very widespread in Hanoi. Vietnamese coffee is a must try, it has a beautiful hazelnut flavour to it which we love. This is more popular again Hanoi than the other cities. When in Hanoi, there is a street called Ta Hien which is Beer street. Lots and lots of pubs around as well as eateries. On Sunday's there's a night market around the lake and the little streets in the vicinity, it's a great visit when the market is on. Both Vietnam and Cambodia are very big on night markets. There was one near the central market in HCMC too and pretty much everywhere in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia. HOWEVER, it's worth noting that in Siem Reap, you must visit Pub Street at night. Some of the best local food (even if slightly touristy) and not as busy as Vietnam which is a bonus. In Vietnam, food at a restaurant is between 80k to 150k (5 to 10 AUD) per dish however street food is a lot cheaper at 20k - 50k (1 to 3 AUD). A can of local beer by a street vendor is 15k-30k (1 to 2 AUD) but prepare to pay a bit more at pubs. We found Cambodia to be a lot more expensive due to the USD being their main currency. A bottle of water is $1 USD, beer during happy hour can be $0.50 USD, meals between $3-$10 USD depending on where you go. Street food between $1-$3. It does add up for us Aussies as our dollar is struggling agaisnt the USD so in terms of food, Vietnam was definitely cheaper however Cambodian food was hell of a lot more delicious :)

We did almost all the optional tours, which is probably a bad idea as we got no free time whatsoever before we left to a different city. 7-8am tour starts also gets to you after a while and by the end of the trip, you are pooped. A point to make though is that the transfer busses these guys use are NOT comfortable. Believe it or not, the most comfortable bus we had was for our 7 hour trip from HCMC to Phnom Penh in a public tourist bus (first class seats, mighty fine). They really need to consider how hot and humid these countries are and you really don't want to be sitting uncomfortably like sardines in a cramped and tiny bus with 30 other people, especially if you get a bad seat on top of the wheel arch and you are basically in a vertical fetal position the entire time.

- Halong Bay Cruise (Included) - we loved Halong Bay!! It's magnificent! Do not go on the Majestic cruise line though but I don't think you have much choice as that's what they book through the tour company. Our junk boat, while clean, was in SHAMBLES. I wanted to wear a life jacket 24/7 but wasn't given the option. There were such nice boats on the cruise too BUT we didn't let the holes on the floorboard sink our mood. It was so nice and cool in terms of weather in Halong Bay too. Getting off at the beach for the look out is NOT worth it (but you will do it anyway, I know). Very overcrowded and congested and will soon be shut down due to pollution. It's also a man made beach so meh, Melbs got better. DO NOT GET IN THE WATER PEEPS. We saw many poo floaties from the junk boats in the water. Consider yourself warned and also watch out for 'pirates' at night.

- My Son Holy Land Tour - $70 AUD pp. About an hours drive from Hoi An. This tour was not worth $70. If you are going to Angkor Wat, you definitely won't be missing out if you skip this tour. It's basically a visit to old temple ruins by the Cham people, very similar to Angkor Wat. You can even do this tour on your own by organizing it with one of the various little shops in Hoi An city. Definitely will work out cheaper for you. It's very muggy up that way so dress comfortably. Lunch was provided but again, it's a set shared lunch of about 5 courses.

- Cu Chi Tunnels Tour - Included - It's about a 2 hour drive from HCMC. I didn't do the tunnel itself as I get claustrophobic but even my hubby who did it and doesn't get claustrophobic only did 20m as it got a bit much. You crawl and creep through it and wonder how people can be so small. The tour itself was great, I thought. It's all spread through the jungle so it was slightly cool. Definitely, do this with your tour guide and not solo as a good tour guide will have a wealth of information. You can also shoot military guns for $27 USD for 10 bullets.

- Mekong Delta Day Tour $50 AUD pp - man I wished I had skipped this. It was such a boring tour. If you want to visit the Mekong Delta, grab a ferry and go to a restaurant on the island but don't waste your time on this tour. They walk you through a very hot island visiting all the tourist traps like your chocolate shop, coconut candy shop, bee farm and it was such a bore. Give it a miss, trust me. If you want to stare at a polluted muddy river, just go look at the yarra :)

- Killing Fields and City Tour - $120 AUD pp - DO NOT DO THIS TOUR. Do the Killing Fields ($10 USD entry pp) and the genocide museum ($8 USD entry pp) on your own in a tuk tuk or a hired car . The king's palace is 40,000 Rield ($10 USD pp). We way overpaid for this trip. I feel like something as horrible and moritifying as the genocidee museum and the killing fields needs to be done and absorbed at one's own pace, not forced and rushed through with a tour group. If you need more information as to why I don't recommend it, message me but year, save your money. All they did for us is the Royal Palace, The Killing Fields, the Genocide Museum, Lunch and dropped us at the Central Market. NOT $120 AUD pp worth.

- Angkor Wat Tour - Included - what can I say? This was the highlight of my tour. Can be done without a tour guide but some of the information they give can be very insightful. We drifted off from the group as I dozed off listening to Rocky drone on and on in the heat. Mind you, it's VERY VERY crowded. Couldn't get a single decent picture without people posing in doorways. For an introvert, very frustrating.

- Hanoi Food Tour - We didn't do this however we were told that we were brilliant for not doing it. Apparently they took you to a local restaurant and fed you a set menu and called it a 'Food Tour'.

We upgraded to Premium and sorry if this comes off snobby but four star, my bum!! Despite paying premium, you will be lucky if you get a standard room in these hotels, they will give you the lowest of the low. The hotels in Vietnam were atrocious. They couldn't even spring for an extra pillow, I had to resort to hugging the tiny throw cushion to sleep. One pillow pp. The rooms were prison cells, especially as Chalcedony Hotel in Hanoi. After we returned from Halong Bay though, we got a deluxe room in the same hotel up top on the 12th floor which was great. The location of this hotel was also fantastic. Rosemary Hotel in Hoi An was truly the exception in the entire trip. It was magnificent. The entire premium upgrade was worth it just because of this one hotel. It may be a 30 minute walk from old town but they do have shuttle services. So, so good. Aristos Hotel in HCMC, another prison cell, especially on level 2. What holiday, you are doing time, my friend. Location again, was good though as it took us about 2 hours to do the whole loop of the city and back to the hotel. Cambodia hotels were much better but nothing to write home about. Kravan hotel in Phnom Penh, we got a free upgrade to the 11th floor so the views were really nice. Tara Angkor in Siem Reap was beautiful, massage definitely recommended HOWEVER we tried to pay for an upgrade as this was our last hotel and they asked us to contact Vacation IndoChina and was very dismissive. Similarly, we asked to do a late check out as our flight was at 8.45pm and we were were getting picked up at 5pm and they said nope, they are fully booked. It's a TOURIST GROUP hotel so you see a LOT of caucasian and asian tourist groups come in day in and day out so unlike other hotels, they will never go out of their way for you.

Wow this post is long, but I hope I have helped someone out there. Please message me if you need any information about TripADeal or this tour in particular. I don't think we will do TripADeal again. Because it's as budget as budget gets, they cram a lot into a single tour so you spend a lot of time on the road and in busses. I would have done this tour a lot more differently probably in 3 weeks and not 13 days.

Great trip report!

I love your review. It's very accurate. We're in Siam Reap on the last leg of the tour.

Outstanding guides were Sally and Thui.

In Phnom Penh our guide Lucky insisted on changing VND to US dollars for me as he said I would find it easier at the market. I realised he had kept $30 for himself and later managed to get it back from him. He also told my friend to say she was a guide at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh. We realised he had saved $10 by not buying her a ticket. A thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Tipping over here is painful as some of the guides really play the pity card - very painful.

have never done a group tour in my life & reading this, have no wish to in future

research here and then book our own flights , no flight centre. Etc. and research a good Travel insurance,

Thanks so much for posting this - I've often read the newspaper adverts and been tempted but thought they sounded too good to be true and it would appear they are! I hope your next travel experience is a happier one.

Wow such a great and helpful review. I am on my own so had thought to do the TripaDeal tour or perhaps the Webjet Exclusive (priced about the same)

However after reading your review I am thinking that these budget tour options may be not be what I want.

How do you think it would be to do an itinerary similar on my own?

Thanks for any advice.

We have stayed in 2 star to 4 star accommodation and also apartments when there for a month.

Just have a look at what you like to do and see etc and research, checking the weather and months.. just one thing travel in Vietnam takes time so don't over book too many places.... And make sure you have great travel insurance,

  • Best Things To Do On An Ultimate Budget Trip To Vietnam And Cambodia!

27 Mar 2023

“As a person who has aspired to build a career on traveling, I constantly search for opportunities to visit different places in the world. A trip with my friends to the Southeast Asian countries of Vietnam and Cambodia was an opportunity too good to pass.”

Over the years, the idea of an international vacation with friends had always been a dream scenario in my head. Adding to that desire to explore the world were Bollywood movies like ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ that promoted and encouraged the concept of traveling with friends on a larger-than-life vacation.

Therefore, my friends and I decided to go on a backpacking trip together in Asia. Being the guy who knew about travel the most in our group, my friends left the task of narrowing down on the final destination of our trip on me.

As I had already been to places like Thailand and Indonesia, my inclination was more towards visiting Vietnam and Cambodia. After consulting with my friends, and checking out the best time to travel in Southeast Asia, we booked flights for a budget trip to Vietnam and Cambodia.

Best Places To See On A Trip To Vietnam And Cambodia

Ho Chi Minh City was the first stop on our budget trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. We landed in Vietnam at 10 am and straight away checked into our accommodation at Flipside Hostel.

One great thing about travel in Southeast Asia was that there were abundant low-cost and nicely maintained accommodations for budget travelers. On an average, we spent INR 600 per person on accommodation (including breakfast and wifi) per day during our 11 nights/ 12 days Vietnam Cambodia trip.

Top 3 Places We Visited In Vietnam

There were a lot of places in Vietnam that we could have visited, but we made the itinerary to properly cover only the southern side of Vietnam. Here are some of the places I found to be remarkable on our budget trip to Vietnam and Cambodia.

1. Cu Chi Tunnels

On the second day of our trip, we went on a sightseeing tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels. Located 60 kms north of Ho Chi Minh City, these amazing network of tunnels that ran 250 km underground were made by Vietnamese people during its war against the United States.

Entry fees: INR 350 per person

2. Cao Dai Temple, Tay Ninh

On the same day as Cu Chi Temples, we visited the Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh city. This temple had special significance because of its the place where the religion Caodaism originated. We were truly amazed by seeing the spectacular artwork inside the temple which was filled with vivid colors and intricacy during our Vietnam Cambodia trip.

3. War Remnants Museum, Ho Chi Minh

The next day, post breakfast, we visited the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh. The museum housed all the remaining exhibits from the different wars Vietnam had to endure against US and France. The museum was a spine-tingling reminder of all horrors innocent people faced in this country.

Entry fees: INR 150 per person

WATCH OUT FOR..!!

Everything seems hunky-dory when someone explains about their blissful trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. However, there are a few things that you must keep an eye out for to have a brilliant holiday experience in Vietnam.

1. Crazy traffic!

When an Indian says the traffic is too chaotic, you better stand up and take notice! Vietnam has the most number of motor bikers per capita in the world. Be very safe while crossing roads because you’re never too far away from bumping into a speeding scooter.

2. Pub Crawls

More the merrier. We enjoyed the nightlife of Vietnam in the best way possible by going on pub crawls organized by hostels we stayed in. Along with the benefit of partying with 20 odd fellow travelers, we also got free shots and no cover charge whichever bar we stepped in.

Take Tips From Rahul’s Romantic Trip To Cambodia And Vietnam

3. It’s Pho! Not Pad Thai

Often our limited knowledge of Asian cuisine can get us into a foot-in-mouth situation. A similar thing happened when one of us mistook Pho noodles (traditional Vietnam) for Pad Thai (Thai noodles) that led to unpleasant culinary experience.

Cambodia: A gorgeous country with an eventful past

angkor wat temple tour

After visiting the War Remnants Museum, we packed our bags and checked out of the hostel in Ho Chi Minh for our bus ride to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We arrived in Phnom Penh at 10 pm and straightaway checked into our hostel accommodation.

I was really looking forward to this part of our trip which included visit various temples, beaches, and culturally rich cities on our budget trip to Vietnam .

1. Killing Fields, Choeung Ek

The next day, we went on a sightseeing tour of the killing fields in Choeung Ek. This place was a mass grave of a genocide done by the Cambodian government in the 1970s. More than 8,000 people were executed here during the civil war that ended up in more than one million people slaughtered.

2. Koh Rong Islands (Koh Rong And Koh Rong Samloem)

koh rong islands

After checking out from Phnom Penh, we took a taxi to the town of Sihanoukville and then a ferry to the island of Koh Rong. We spent a total of 4 nights at Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem collectively.

The best things about the islands were that they are scenic with their white sands and pristine blue water, relatively untouched by tourism because not many people knew about them, and the tourists are completely surrounded by nature on these islands.

3. Angkor Wat, Siem Reap

angkor wat

On this budget trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, we followed the age-old cliche of ‘saving the best for the last’. The time we started planning this trip, Angkor Wat, the most popular place to visit in Cambodia, was the first thing we had on our list. It was like going to India and finally visiting Taj Mahal. On the 10th day of our trip, we rented motor bikes to go on and explore the Angkor Wat Temple complex. The reason we rented bikes was that the complex is spread out over 400 acres and has more than 70 temples to visit.

Entry fees: INR 2,400 per person

Honeymoon In Vietnam: Your Guide To This Underrated Romantic Destination

During our time in Cambodia, it was evident to us that their country a tourist haven and a major chunk of its income came from travelers like us. Therefore, here a few points you should keep in mind while traveling in Cambodia.

1. Insanely expensive Angkor Wat

A lot of history lovers felt disgruntled (including us) looking at the 37 USD entry fee for a single day at Angkor Wat. Ideally, it would take 2-3 days to explore the entire temple complex properly. Therefore, it is better to buy a two-day pass for 62 USD instead.

2. Burgers to die for!

For some reason, wherever we went the burgers were simply unbelievably good. I don’t know if it was the fried chicken, or the sauces, but the Khmer people definitely know how to make delicious fast food.

3. Koh Rong Samloem is a hidden paradise

A lot of the gorgeous tropical beaches in the world get attention quickly and with that commercialization. However, we visited the small and pristine island of Koh Rong Samloem which was perfect for beach lovers and yet not commercialized!

In these past 12 days, my friends and I were lucky enough to explore some beautiful places that are so different from the culture we come from, and yet similar if we look at the roots of where our countries began. The people in Cambodia and Vietnam are welcoming, helpful, and vibrant.

On a personal level, I was proud of how efficiently we carried out our trip within the budget without compromising the fun and the explorative element of our budget trip to Vietnam and Cambodia.

Highlights Of Our Budget Trip To Vietnam And Cambodia

  • Seeing the vast network of Cu Chi Tunnels left me impressed by the grit and the determination of the Vietnamese people.
  • The beautiful Koh Rong islands are a place I would love to go back some day.
  • The elaborate architecture and overwhelming beauty of Angkor Wat did not go unnoticed.

Important Tips To Keep In Mind For A Budget Trip To Vietnam And Cambodia

  • In terms of accommodation and food, I found Vietnam and Cambodia to be one of the cheapest places to visit. Although, there were a few things that I kept in mind in order to make sure that my expenses didn’t go over the budget I planned.
  • Book your flights at least 3 months in advance. Air Asia is the cheapest low-cost carrier that flies to numerous destinations across Asia.
  • Hostels are the best accommodation for budget travelers. You can easily find comfortable rooms starting from INR 300 per night including breakfast.
  • Always collect freebies from hostels and hotels like maps, coupons, bicycle rent etc
  • Backpacking districts/streets generally have great restaurants that offer delicious local food at a decent price.
  • Renting a motorbike in Vietnam and Cambodia can be a very cheap and efficient way of traveling within a city or to another one.
  • Split a cab for a full-day sightseeing tour with fellow travelers. It will save you on transportation expenses.
  • Keep an eye for happy hours in restaurants and pubs. Some of them offer 70-80% off on hard drinks and beverages.
  • Instead of going via flight, take a bus while traveling from Vietnam to Cambodia or vice versa. Crossing borders by road is not a big hassle at all in these countries.

Vietnam & Cambodia Discovery 15 day tour

Having never used TripaDeal before, we were pleasantly surprised at how well everything went. There were no major issues, all connections went as planned and for the most part, the tour guides were great. The best of them all was Miss Lien who was with us for Da Nang and Hoi An, she was lovely. Really knowledgeable, kind, nothing was too much trouble and she looked after us really well. Anyone who gets Lien as the guide is very lucky. We also got very lucky with our group and enjoyed every day in the company of our 18 Australian travel buddies. The only negative was the bus they used for the transfer from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap which was awful - too small, AC did not work for half the bus, luggage didn't fit well and the seats were hard and uncomfortable. We nearly abandoned the bus halfway through we were so unhappy. Also it was never going to be a 6 hour drive (we did it on a public holiday and it was close to 8) so they needed to be honest about the travel time to set expectations.

Booked a trip to China-yeah great price…

Booked a trip to China-yeah great price but--- Chinese visa is time consuming and difficult. Tripadeal were less then helpful in the timely provision of documentation - 4weeks on the dot!! Numerous phone calls were met with constant stone walling. The flights were ticketed in January for a May trip!!! We live in regional NSW - everything takes a lot longer and costs a lot more! Spent more time and money getting the visa than on the trip! Poor as P***

Reply from TripADeal

Hi Mario, Thanks for getting in touch and we're sorry you were disappointed with the service and also the Visa process. It certainly has become a lot harder (we used to be able to handle all of this for our customers), so we can understand the frustration. In regards to the travel documents arriving, this is always between 4-6 weeks. We're terribly sorry for the stress this might have caused. We certainly hope you have a great time on your trip and we look forward to hearing from you when you return. Kind regards, TripADeal Team

Do we try again?

We took a 2for1 deal to China at the end of 2018 and had a variety of experiences. However in reading more recent reviews, there seems to be the same issues of remote/inconvenient hotel locations, obligatory 'tours' as you're already on the bus, and hurried tours/visits. We're exploring going on the 2for1 Italy & The Med. Should we chance it? (p.s. experience date listed is arbitrary as this 'review' is a question.

Date of experience : 01 January 2024

Hi Fiona, Thanks for your feedback. We can appreciate that you might have some hesitation if you believe there has been no changes to a deal you went on in 2018. As you can appreciate, China is a huge country and there is a lot to see and do. Our tours are like an appetiser, giving you a bit of a taste. If you want to get some feedback on the Italy and the Med tour you are considering, you could head to a Facebook page called TripADeal Travel Buddy. It has over 40,000 members all sharing tips, asking for advice and providing detailed feedback from trips they've been on. Personally, we think you should do it - but we're a bit biased :) Kind regards TripADeal Team

We are a very unhappy group of travellers

We are a very unhappy group of Australians. Don't be fooled by cheaper pricing. Wait until you see the hidden costs. Also they do not cover return transfers. On this trip from Princess Cruises to hotel and then to airport. All other travel companies include this. You want to travel knowing from the start of your journey until the end is taken care of. Also a number of shuttle cars did not arrive to pick us up as promised by TripADeal. Very expensive taxis in Japan ordered as we nearly missed out cruise embarkation. Don't bother ringing their so called emergency phone number. They don't answer. All 20 Australians on just this trip said they will NEVER travel Trip a Deal again.

Date of experience : 17 April 2024

Hi Jennifer Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about the lack of transfer to and from the Cruise. If you haven't already sent more details about this, please do to [email protected] so we can investigate further. Kind regards TripADeal Team

TripADeal China The trip for 9 days

TripADeal China The trip for 9 days was good the Hotels were nice just a bit out of town which is expected for the price. The thing I did not like was they say it is recommended you give them $12.00aud a day tip which I think is a bit high and is mandatory. Now there were 31 of us on the bus that is $372.00 a day for tips that converts to 1674 in Chinese currency now times that by 8 is 13392 in tips for our tour. In response to your answer I just recently returned from the trip and the tip was mandatory NOT recommended the tour guides told us it's mandatory

Date of experience : 14 March 2024

Hi Wayne, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We're glad to hear you found your China trip to be good, and the hotels to be nice. We're sorry to hear you felt disappointed with the recommended tips per day. We'd like to reiterate this is our recommendation provided prior to booking and is not mandatory. We do hope this has not deterred you from choosing to travel with us in the future. Kind regards, TripADeal Team

Buyer beware

We were given longest flight sydney to athens others in group had quicker flights. Arrived and no one there to meet us. Turns out they came 2hrs later to meet another plane and we were expected to find them. No effort was made to contact us. Given breakfast to go first morning. Not very nice. Booked on all slow ferries which reduced time on islands. Hotels always a long distance from main towns. Group either hired car/bike, took local bus or taxi. I did like the independent touring of islands as everyone was able to do what they liked. Going home our flight was about 8 hours after first flight. We were told there would be one only trip to airport. Either we went 8 hrs early or we paid to get there by taxi. Hotel was quite a distance from airport. No support given to us by trip a deal. Unable to put negative comments on facebook groups as trip a deal moderates them. If using them remember day 1 includes flights, as does last day. As it took about 40hrs to get to Greece, our time in Athens was brief.

Date of experience : 01 June 2023

Hi L, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed the independent nature of the island touring, this has been a popular aspect of this deal for many customers. We are sorry however that you found other elements of the trip fell short. In regards to the flights, as you can appreciate we are not always able to get a whole group (often from different departure cities) on the same flight. Often we don't have enough room, or the allocations are accessible. We apologise your flights were longer than the others in the group, sometimes this is unavoidable. Indeed, the hotels are not always smack back in the middle of town, unfortunately in order to do this, we would need to significantly increase the cost of the deal. The taxi's and bikes are all very reliable in Europe, and tend to be far cheaper than what we are used to in Australia. We hope you were able to make the most of the night life. Overall, we hope you enjoyed the trip, and if you wanted to share more detailed feedback, please send it through to [email protected] Kind regards TripADeal Team

Good value and good communication from Trip A Deal.

I have been reading all the Trip A Deal reviews and I'm sorry to see so many that are bad, The trouble with many of them is that they didn't read the documentation with enough care. It is unreasonable to complain about spending many hours on a bus, when the detailed itinerary tells you how many hours it will be or how many kilometres you will drive. It is also unreasonable to expect a refund from a travel company if you have to cancel because of ill health. That's what travel insurance is for. It is no use complaining about the cost of optional activities when those descriptions and costs are clearly set out in the documentation. The same for paying the tips - you know about those in advance. I am booked on one of the super cheap China tours. I read all the information with care, so I know what happens each day, and how much extra things cost. I have checked the addresses of the accommodation, so I know how far they are from the centre of town and what is within walking distance of them. I know which meals are not included in the price. For the price I am paying, I expect to take part in the factory and shopping tours, and I can hold my own against hard sell techniques if I choose not to buy. I'm not expecting miracles or a luxury tour for the price I am paying. So far, Trip a Deal have done everything efficiently. As promised, I got the flight details and the detailed itinerary about 4.5 weeks before departure. I appreciated the extra sheet of hints on how to apply for the Chinese Visa, and that has been easy enough to follow correctly. I also appreciate that Trip A Deal has let us know in advance that tickets to the Forbidden City are in short supply and another venue may have to be substituted if they cannot get them for the tour group. They had no obligation to tell us that, so it was honest of them to do so. So far, everything has been handled efficiently. I will write another review when I get back from the China trip.

TAD Morocco Tour Great service experience

I booked 4 couples on a TAD Morocci tour. Without Margurete's persistence, we would not have been accommodated together. She was extremely courteous, responsive and 6 all my questions and requirements including extending our stay. Very thankful for all she has done

Date of experience : 29 March 2024

Hi Jerry Thanks for sharing your feedback, we are so lucky to have the wonderful Margurete on the team. We love that she's made the booking process easy for you and your travel companions! You are just going to love Morocco. Don't hesitate to let us (Margurete) know if there is anything we can do between now and your departure. Regards, TripADeal Team

Grand Japan

I am just on my way home from a tour of Japan (15 day Grand Japan). This is my fourth tour with Tripadeal and it didn't disappoint. It was a comprehensive tour visiting many places in this beautiful country, and it was so successful due to our tour guide (Rose) and driver (Captain). Rose was absolutely brilliant, giving detailed information about the places we visited. She was so helpful, energetic and approachable, and our driver kept us all safe with his expertise. Thank you both so much. I was very happy with the accommodation. I thought the rooms might be small but I was pleasantly surprised to find them roomier than expected and immaculately clean. The breakfasts were varied and the local dishes interesting. So, Tripadeal, you've done it again. You provide value for money and I will travel with you again.

Date of experience : 20 March 2024

Hi Jenny, We're thrilled another one of our amazing, value-packed deals has enticed you back for a fourth time! Japan is such a marvelous country, that tends to exceeds expectations in more ways than one. It's fantastic to know your guide, Rose and driver, Captain, made the trip so special. We look forward to welcoming you back for the fifth trip- the real question is, where to next?! Warm Regards, TripADeal Team

I wish I had read these reviews before…

I wish I had read these reviews before we booked a holiday. Has been a huge disappointment & we haven't even left yet! our trip of 22 days was supposed to be 18 days on cruise & 4 days in Honolulu turned out to be 15 nights on cruise 5 nights in Honolulu & 2 days travel time!!!! I have been in contact several times to try & get verification & itinerary..... different answers every time total confusion & frustration!!!! 5 nights in Honolulu not 1 meal included!!!!!

Hi Robin and Stephen Deaton, Thank you for reaching out. We apologise for any misunderstandings. However, we can confirm that the 22-day itinerary which you would have read prior to purchase, states that it includes a 15-night transpacific cruise, accommodation in Honolulu and a one-way international flight back to Australia - yours is a direct flight of approximately 10 hours. A copy of the itinerary was sent to you by email with your booking confirmation and is available for you to view and download anytime through your TripADeal account via our website and app. If you have any questions or further concerns, please give us a call on 1300 198 242 or send an email to [email protected]. Kind regards, TripADeal Team

Frastration + anxiety before trip

Frastration + anxiety before trip Keep ringing TripADeal about documentation for our trip as we were promised 6 to 4 weeks before cruise going on to 3 weeks now. We just hit a stone wall no one knows what the problem is. We can’t organise getting insurance getting ESTA or start preparing for our trip. We are having sleepless nights worrying if our dream 50th wedding anniversary will never happen. Just disappointed + will be sticking to Flight Centre in future.

Hi Zelda, Thank you for reaching out to share your concerns. We understand this is a very special holiday for you. We're pleased to confirm that today is 4 weeks to departure and you can rest assured that our team is actively working to promptly provide you with the necessary documentation. We will keep you updated if there are any delays. Kind regards, TripADeal Team

Stop complaining and enjoy

I have been reading all the negative reviews and thought I’d counteract these. In 2019, my husband and I did an India tour and the entire trip was AMAZING. Yes we had to wait for flights, we had to buy some meals and some of the accommodation was basic BUT for the price of these trips who cares. Recently Samantha from head office has helped us immensely with an upcoming trip in June. This particular tour was booked out and she magically made it happen for us. I can’t thank her enough. For all the people who complain, think about what you are actually getting for your money. I’m counting down the days until we go away again with TripADeal.

Date of experience : 22 March 2024

Hi Lee, Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to leave your 5 star review. We appreciate your positivity and recognise the value of your attitude (we love the title!). We like to think our bucket list trips are high in value and easy to enjoy, and we’re glad you felt this way about your trip to India in 2019. We’re also very happy to hear that Samantha worked her magic for your upcoming trip, what a legend! Once again, thank you for sharing. We wish you all the best for your trip in June, and hope to take you on plenty more in the future. Best Regards, TripADeal Team

Vietnam and Cambodia 4559 293713

We booked our holiday with another couple last year to see Vietnam and Cambodia at the end of March 2024. We started off to Hanoi the first night then to Ha Long Bay to cruise for a night. The next day our companion had a stroke and ended up in The French Hospital, Hanoi. We stopped our trip to stay with his wife who was very upset with the circumstances and when we informed TripADeal, they gave us no other solutions. It was Easter and no family members could fly straight over as they needed to obtain visas into Vietnam. They showed no duty of care at all. The other couple could not attend a pre paid puppet show and dinner so our guide sold their tickets to another couple, They never were given the money for their missed show. We informed them of this and nothing was done. They wanted to know if we would be flying back with them, but unfortunately my partner became ill and was admitted to the same hospital with pneumonia, here we were two ladies stranded in a foreign country with no help from TripADeal. Their answer was "get in touch with your insurer"! Unfortunately they take your $7000 each couple for your trip and after that they don't want to know you. We pre paid for two other tours, which amounted to $580.00 per couple, they have not refunded any money back to us. There was no help with extending our visa as they stopped on the 9/4/2024, we went to the Australian embassy for help to see what we had to do. My partner and I were lucky enough to come home with twenty minutes left on our visas. The other couple children came over after my partner ended up in hospital to help organise their father to be medical lifted back to Australia with his wife, and to extend their visas to get out of Vietnam and fly home which they are finally happening today. I usually don't write reviews to hurt companies but this time I believe people should know what happens when you deal with TripADeal. We still have had no one from this company reach out to see if we arrived home or to see if our friends have been able to get back to Australia. I would call our holiday "a holiday from hell" .

Tait L. Consultant

Tait L. is our consultant at TripADeal, for our up and coming, fly to Singapore, cruise back to Australia. I have to say we have done a few trips through this company and others, BUT ! her attention to detail, taking that extra time to answer your needs and obtain documents is absolutely outstanding. Thank you Tait, you have made all 4 of us that are booked on this trip feel so much more confident with the finer details, removing all the worry that usually goes with these trips. If you get Tait L, you have got the best.

Hi Peter, Thank you for the glowing review! It's been Tait's absolute pleasure to assist you with planning this wonderful trip. Wishing you an amazing adventure ahead, and looking forward to hearing all about it! Best regards, TripADeal Team

India is a must! Put it on your bucket list!

Our first tour ever as usually go it alone. But for India thought we needed go be on a tour and we picked Trip a Deal. Definitely impressed with everything! Our main tour guide Nadim plus driver and assistant were all superb. Nadim gave practical and helpful information each day. His knowledge of political and cultural interests was exceptional. He dealt with everyone and their needs well, even though some travellers could be bit of a challenge at times. Our small group of 19 was a perfect size. Hotels were promoted as 5 star and they were certainly that. The tour made our trip to India unforgettable. Loved every minute. Would definitely look at future Trip a Deal tours again.

Hi Carolyn, Thank you for choosing TripADeal for your first tour experience! Your fabulous review has been an absolute pleasure to read. We're so delighted to hear that you loved every minute of your holiday exploring India with Nadim. We truly appreciate the time you've taken to share this feedback, and hope to have the opportunity to help make more of your travel dreams come true in the future! Best regards, TripADeal Team

Finally got someone who sent email to the hotel without the name of the hotel on it bit hotel is completely booked out ! They have sent us to kata beach beyond for 3 nights and then have to pack up to go back to Karon beach beyond fir final two nights totally not a Thai romantic holiday when we’re packing in the middle of the stay - no contact from trip acdesl with any explanation or apology but this is not the holiday I paid for

Cheap for a reason

On a positive, the accommodate was excellent. The guides in Beijing and Shanghai - Lisa and Serena were very good. The negatives- hotels were out in the sticks with no access to transport apart from taxis. Food choices around hotels were very limited. Tipping was not optional. Guides were very insistent and ticked your name off a list. Those who didn't have cash were asked to borrow from others. The guides in Xian/ Zhengzhou wanted an extra half day tips. The optional tours were not optional because we had already checked out of hotel and were often on way to next destination. Take plenty of money because most of the sights are an excuse for shopping - Jade museum, silk factory, Chinese medicine, tea plantation. Even many of the optional tours were to shopping venues. Much of trip was spent on a bus or train or waiting for a bus or train. First and last TAD.

The worst experience with divorce is…

The worst experience with divorce is when I was an employee working in this non-recruiting institution, starting with HR Abanoub. Beware of him. He works only for the company and does not have any skill in communicating with people. He is one of the first reasons for not hiring highly qualified employees, and he is very good at escaping the rights of employees. Giving them rights, such as insurance, medical insurance, etc., is not explicit and is merely distorting the words for the benefit of the company and not for your benefit as an employee at all... The owner of the company dismisses the employees arbitrarily without giving anyone his financial dues, and they are not coming to comply with the Egyptian Labor Law. Therefore, be very careful not to enter this harmful environment that will cause corruption. You have your professional career and you waste a very large amount of time. You leave your previous job and see yourself in a place where no one, without exception, has only the soft skills to deal in a work environment that makes it easy for customers to book. Other than the reservation aspect, there are many problems that the customer encounters, so get a job at World Trip Deal Company. Name. The old Dusk Travel and the current World Trip Deal. This is a certificate before the machine that I hold accountable for, and it is not a distortion of the image of a company that does its work to the fullest extent, but they are not fit to work in the field of tourism and it is a disgrace to this field.

Nina Opened China up for us

We recently bought the super cheap package to China for 9 days. We took the Terra-cotta Warrior upgrade and glad we did. Our guide Nina in Beijing was one of the great travel people we have met in our life. She took every care, ensured we were accompanied every step of the way. The help desk prior to our trip was the most responsive help desk we have used. Quick responses and good information. This was obviously a cheap trip to get us to spend and we did but happy with all of our purchases. Accomodation was excellent and food was good. Our trip was made all the better by Nina who looked after every detail and kept us laughing on the bus trips. She deserves every yuan she earns.

Date of experience : 01 March 2024

Hi Mark, Thank you for the awesome review! It's fantastic to hear that Nina made your holiday so memorable and enjoyable, going above and beyond to ensure your comfort and satisfaction throughout the journey. She'll be overjoyed to receive your compliments. Thanks again for choosing TripADeal for your trip to China! We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon! Best regards, TripADeal Team

Greedy Tripadeal

Greedy Tripadeal. Typical to squash in as many travellers as is possible when the holiday specifies 24 or less on a current tour of Northern Lights in Norway & Finland! There are 10 additional people ( one of which is myself and husband) so they threw us into another group. Us 10 were 2nd rated the whole trip even put into different igloo accommodation and not seeing the ice hotel what the other 24 saw. We didnt stay where they said we were staying in the itinerary despite paying the same $$$. We had to wait for the group of 24 to do all activities to which we were always ladt. We missed out on city tours as our guide was inept being thrown in to accommodate the additional 10 TAD greedily added on as 2nd class citizens. The whole trip has been a shambles and it has not been cheap. Buyer beware of this company
