What other guests say about our tours and locals

Perfectly tailored tour

"This was the perfect intro to exploring bustling Shibuya! Gulay took our preferences and interests into account when showing us highlights of the area and telling us stories about its history that resonated with everyone in our group. Gulay is immediately friendly and enthusiastic and great with kids too. Thank you Gulay!"

local Gulay

Great Start to Tokyo!

"My teenage son and I spent our first afternoon in Tokyo with Gulay and we couldn't have been happier. She was lovely and personable and within minutes of being with her, she gave us a tip that made our whole trip so much easier. She answered our questions, shared interesting information and showed us newbie tricks to help navigate the city. She also gave us a recommendation for an area we wouldn't have found on our own (which has been our favorite so far!). Thank you, Gulay, for a wonderful and helpful start to our trip. I just wish we could have have had more time with you!"

guest Anne

fantastic drinks and bites experience

"we had a fantastic time with Alejandro showing us a part of Tokyo we would never have found on our own . The food was great and our food restrictions were easily accommodated . The bars we visited were alot of fun and we got to meet some local people . I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Tokyo. "

local Alejandro

Wonderful sushi and sake tour

"Carlos was an excellent guide taking us to a great traditional sushi place as well as having us taste many different varieties of sake. He also added some extra stops in our tour when we showed interest in seeing a rooftop garden or an amazing view of Shibuya crossing. He made sure to accommodate our food restrictions. I would highly recommend this tour "

local Carlos

Seeing the Sights of Shibuya with Sena

"There’s nothing better than booking a tour and having an even better time than you were expecting. On this tour the reason for that was Sena. We saw a lot of places and experienced food and drink in really cool places. But to top that off, Sena was informative, funny, and made sure that we were having a great time. You just can’t beat that. "

local Sena

Wonderful host!

"Sena was such a great host! Very communicative leading up to the tour and even came and found us for the tour start. Despite the rainy day we had a great tour. She is so easy going. She answered all of our questions and gave us plenty of tips for the rest of our stay in Tokyo. Hosts like her are exactly why I use WithLocals when we travel. I would highly recommend her! "

guest Robin

Really added to our Tokyo experience.

"I would recommend Sena to anyone who wants to get a 'local' food experience off the beaten track in Tokyo. We were exhausted having spent a long day on another walking tour, so we worried we wouldn't have the energy to enjoy our food tour. However, Sean made it fun, relaxing and delicious. We have already recommended her tour to friends who plan to visit in the future. "

guest Juliet W

Lovely Local Tour

"Great tour with Sena. Sena was a lovely guide and was very responsive prior to the tour. She had a good knowlege of the local area and where to try the best locals foods. "

guest Jennifer

Awesome Guide

"Sheilina was the best. she took care of us and was very curtious and knowledgeable about the area. the food and drinks were great."

local Sheilina

Amazing Shibuya Tour! 😍

"We really enjoyed our tour with Sena. She was a lovely host and asked us about our interests. She was really flexible and was happy to modify our experience according to what we wanted. She was also kind enough to queue for us in a long checkout line in the Pokemon Centre as we continued browsing the rest of the shop. Finally, she also gifted us with a lovlely origami crane as a departing gift! Sena really went above and beyond and created a wonderful and memorable evening in Shibuya! ❤️"

Rome Food Tour with Gabriele

We had an amazing food and history tour with Gabriele—would highly recommend him as your guide. Not only did Gabriele provide us with delightful food selections, his knowledge of the city and history was extensive and fun. He also went out of his way to address our requests, spending extra time with us as we purchased gifts to send home. If you are considering a food tour of Rome, please select Gabriele as your guide for a truly memorable experience!
This is now the second city we have used Withlocals and my wife and I love the App and the guides. Professional service with email confirmations to leave nothing to chance and clarification on the meeting point if needed. However all of the meeting points have been very easy to find but sometimes in a new city you have questions and they have been very good to deal with. The guides are fantastic, they know the area and in depth history and knowledge is very much appreciated.

Best app when arriving in a new city!

There’s no better way to see a new and unfamiliar city than through the eyes of a local. I’ve used With Locals all around Asia, and the people I’ve met never disappoint. The food tours are a particularly delicious way to interact with the local culture, and the guides have taken me to places I never would have found on my own. I can’t wait to explore more cities with the help of WL!

Gifu Tour Guide - Akiko W.

Hello! My name is Akiko from Gifu prefecture. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I like going out with my family, talking with my friends over coffee at a cozy cafe, reading books, baking bread and cake when I have time. I passed the national tour guide test in 2017 and have worked as a guide since then. I have guided in Gifu city, Seki city, Takayama city, Shirakawago , Mino city and Nagoya city. I have lived in Gifu for more than forty years. Gifu prefecture is rich in nature so you can enjoy the rural atmosphere. Gifu city has a beautiful river 'Nagara river' and Mt.Kinka which has Gifu castle on the top. You can go up the mountain on foot or use a ropeway. The view from Gifu castle is so fantastic. At the foot of the mountain , there are many places to visit such as parks, a temple having a big image of Buddha, and a street preserving the historic atmosphere. At Nagara River, you can enjoy seeing a traditional way of fishing ‘cormorant fishing’ which is thought to have started 1300 years ago. Many cafes have unique service called 'morning service' in Gifu along with Aichi In the morning (until about ten thirty or eleven) when you order a cup of tea or coffee, they serve toast and salad ! Near Gifu park , you can find a nice Japanese style cafe where you enjoy good coffee and seeing a Japanese style garden. Seki city is a small city but so famous for its cutlery. At Japanese sword museum in Seki, you can see authentic Japanese swords! Mino city next to Seki city is well known for its hand made Japanese paper 'Hon minoshi' designated as intangible cultural asset by UNESCO . Until recently it was not easy to guide guests because of COVID-19 pandemic; however the situation is getting better. Some strict rules about COVID-19 have been lifted. Please visit Gifu. I am looking forward to seeing you. Please feel free to ask me when you need information about Gifu. Thank you for reading my introduction.

Mexico City Tour Guide - Hilary D.

Hello! My name is Hilary I have a degree in Tourism and I am certified as a tour guide by the Ministry of Tourism in Mexico, I have done this for 4 years. To make friends and show my country's best places is what I love. Support and help and be there for my tourists, that is my passion! I understand you are in Mexico probably just for once in your life so let's do together a truly unforgettable experience. Welcome to Mexico.

Seoul Tour Guide - Paul K.

Hello everyone, I am Paul, a tour guide in Seoul. Seoul is a fascinated destination that seamlessly blends the old with the new. I'm excited to show you some of the best things to make your trip fun and unforgettable memory, through my deep knowledge about culture and history of Korea and exuberant experiences in tour. My primary tourist destination is Seoul and metropolitan area, consisting of 5 palaces, Royal Ancestral Shrine, Bukchon Hanok Village, National museum of Korea, War Memorial of Korea and other museums & galleries and contemporary architectures, and Namsan Mt. with N-Seoul Tower, traditional & trendy market places such as Gwangjang market & Hondae street, and also Korean Folk Village & DMZ tour. Center of culture and tour is architecture. Architectural style represents spirit of times. We can see as much as we know about spirit of times. For example, without knowledge about Christianity, the spirit of medieval Europe, we cannot fully appreciate beauty and value of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Confucianism was the spirit of Joseon Dynasty. Architectural style of Gyeongbokgung represents Confucianism. Confucianism culture of Joseon Dynasty is unique characteristic of Korean culture, compared to Chinese, Japanese and European culture. Hence, my tourist information is based on Confucianism. Thank you for your interest! As your guide, I hope to see you soon in Seoul.

Barcelona Tour Guide - Christian H.

Christian H.

I left germany 23 years ago and have been living in barcelona for 12. i am an experienced world traveller having visited more than 40 countries on all continents. when coming to barcelona i developed a passion for its architecture, the rich history & the many legends that can be found all over the city. turning passion into a profession i became a tour guide and founded my own company specialising in off the beaten path tours and historic walking routes. we offer private tours. this way we can guarantee a high level of intimacy. for us it is important that there is also time for personal conversations. we love to learn about the lives of our guests. our mission is fulfilled when you got the feeling that you discovered barcelona with a friend who happened to know a lot about the city. catch the barcelona feeling with me                                                                                                                                  .

Zala Tour Guide - Viktor K.

The two biggest problems in my life are, that I was born too soon to become a space-cowboy and too late to become a roman legionary soldier. Since Tour guiding was the closest profession to both of these above mentioned things, I became one. Although I finished the university as a communications expert and journalist in Hungary, it seems they did not prefer my honesty, so I didn't have too many prospects in that field. Without a clue of what to do next, I embarked on a journey to find some answers. I soon found my ambition in Tour-guiding and ended up working on a cruise ship, then as a freelancer tour-guide, and then as an adventure tour-guide in Norway. I've been working in the tourism industry since 2012 and ever since, it''was my dream to create an authentic company of my own and to show the beautiful things of my home country. My travels took me to more then 40+ countries. [And I still have both of my kidneys] Sadly during my journeys, I have discovered that out of 100 companies 99 are simply tourist traps, who scam their customers with some fake "experience". But I also saw, that the authentic and quality tour operators are the longest lasting companies with 20+ years. I aspire to become like that 1 in 100 companies. I believe in win-win situations. I'm a social guy. I like to be around people and to show them around. I like to have deep and honest conversations about things and I love to meet some truly amazing guests. There is nothing that you cannot talk about with me. I like this job so much, that I would even do this job for free, but since I cannot buy food with respect, love, or honesty, I do need something more tangible. Anyways…why are you wasting your time reading about me? Go book a tour and we will have all the time in the world to get to know each other and this beautiful Country.

We asked for a few hour tour with Grant to see Cherry Blossoms around the city. Grant was incredibly nice and thoughtful throughout our tour. With two small kids, he was adjustable with the tour and provided insight and history along the way that made it fun to learn. He was very flexible when we needed to stop and eat or rest! Highly recommend Grant as he knows the area well, makes great recommendations for food and for other sites to see while on our trip. Efficient One Day Tokyo Tour

“ An amazing educational and fun filled day! ”

After completing a 10 day cruise around Japan, we wanted to take the opportunity to visit Tokyo. With only a three day stay, we knew that the only way to make the most of our time was to seek out an experienced tour guide. As the title references, the tour was extremely efficient. We managed to pack in all the locations on the itinerary while exploring many of the popular shopping districts such as Ameyayokocho on the way. As you can imagine, there's always many, many people in the subways and at all of the popular destination points. Toshihiro-san was always looking back to make sure we were right behind him. The highlight of this trip was the cherry blossoms; so beautiful and so plentiful. We just happened to be in Tokyo at the right time. We also enjoyed a wonderful sushi lunch at the fish market suggested by Toshihiro-san. Such a wonderful and memorable day! We will certainly be back again. Thank you Toshihiro-san!

How can I get to California?

Getting to California is relatively easy as there are a variety of options available including flying, driving, and taking public transport. You can fly into both big airports, such as LAX (Los Angeles), or small airports like Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) depending on which part of California you're traveling in. You can also drive to California if you're from a neighboring state (or want to go on an epic road trip) or you can take a bus or a train with several routes to all the popular destinations.

How do you get around Los Angeles?

Driving is the most time-efficient and popular way of getting around Los Angeles due to the city's size. While there is public transportation in the form of a bus network and the local metro, it's sometimes unreliable and can be quite time-consuming. Los Angeles is known for its crazy traffic situations, especially during peak periods of the day, so make sure you give yourself enough time to get around.

Alternatively, you can drive between the two states for an epic road trip that's 12 hours long. If you were to take public transport between the two states it would be longer still but is a relatively cheap option.

A LOOK INSIDE IRELAND

Who is this for?

WHY CHOOSE A PRIVATE DRIVER-GUIDE?

Having someone who is passionate about Ireland and knows all the best places to go can make a big difference to your tour of Ireland. Your driver and personal guide will also have that in depth knowledge which means you can ask all the questions you want and get the information you need.

Facebook Feed

Ireland with Locals

You also get the right itinerary whatever the ages of your group, from the very young, to the more mature. There’s always something exciting to do.

Take the hassle out of trying to find your way around. Being in a new country can often be daunting and a private driver will be able to take the stress out of driving on new roads, ensuring you get to your destinations on time, making the most of your visit.

Drive in comfort and style. An air conditioned, luxury vehicle means that all you need to do is sit back, have a chat and watch the beautiful countryside as it passes by.

Head out at your own pace. With a private driver who knows the lie of the land, you won’t be rushing to fit everything in and things can be slowed down or sped up according to your needs.

Discover Ireland’s hidden gems. When you visit a new country for the first time it’s often easy to miss all those great little sites that make a difference to any vacation. Because you have a personal driver who knows all the best places to go, you’ll be sure to get the most out of your visit to Ireland.

Find the best restaurants and pubs. Ireland has many great restaurants, hotels, and welcoming pubs that provide top quality food and entertainment whether it’s for a lunchtime snack or an evening meal, a drink of real Guinness or just some local colour and music.

Immediate access to in depth knowledge. Your driver is passionate about Ireland and all that it has to offer. He or she won’t just have the superficial knowledge from reading a guidebook, there will be a depth of almost encyclopaedic understanding that means you’ll get more from your visit.

Having a personal driver guide means your tour is customised to your requirements and no day is set in stone. No early mornings, no time limits when visiting places of interest, the flexibility to change plans (within reason of course) and everything taken care of to your satisfaction. Just how a private tour of Ireland ought to be.

Get to the heart of Ireland with your own personal guide , someone who is passionate, friendly and professional. A personal driver isn’t just a faceless individual. They’re open and gregarious and they like to make sure you see this beautiful country in its best light.

Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular, mind-bending Moscow Metro! Be awed by architecture and spot the Propaganda , then hear soviet stories from a local in the know. Finish it all up above ground, looking up to Stalins skyscrapers, and get the inside scoop on whats gone on behind those walls.

Know More about this tour

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).

Moscow metro tour: architectural styles of the subway.

with local tours

Duration: 2 hours

Categories: Culture & History, Sightseeing

This metro tour of Russia’s capital and most populous city, Moscow, is your chance to get a unique insight into the beautiful and impressive architecture of the city's underground stations. Admire their marble walls and high ceilings representing Stalin's desire for glory after World War 2, and see first-hand how the interiors change with the rise of new political eras. Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

Discover how the unique character of each station reflected several different eras. While stations like Kievskaya and Slavyansky Bulvar have pompous halls and high stucco ceilings brimming with extravagant decorations, those built later, like Volzhskaya, are lightly adorned with sparse furnishings. Architect Alexey Dushkin and painter Alexander Deyneka were just two of the many artists who made these magnificent landmarks possible.

Revel in Moscow's glory days, as well as the years of scarcity, on this fascinating Moscow metro experience. Conclude your tour at one of the central stations in Moscow. If you're lucky, you may even find the secret entrance to the unconfirmed Metro-2, a parallel underground system used by the government -- a mystery which has neither been denied nor confirmed today.

Culture Shock Rating

We have a wide range of tours designed to give you an insight into the destination you're travelling in and there is something for everybody. The culture shock ratings considers the destination visited, transport used, activities undertaken and that "Wow, I'm really not at home now!" factor. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

This is the least confronting of our tour range. Transport used on the trip is either private or a very comfortable public option, the activities included are usually iconic sites and locations that are not all too confronting.

The tour can include a mix of private and public transport providing a level of comfort that is slightly below what you would experience at home. Sites visited are usually iconic sites, tours can also include market visits, visits to communities etc that provide the traveller with a fantastic insight into destination.

Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether it's a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, a visit to a local market, a local community, you are sure to have an experience that is very different from what you're used to at home.

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.

Physical Rating

Our physical rating gives you an idea of how much huffing and puffing you can expect on the tour. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

These tours have very limited physical activity. Usually climbing in and out of the transport provided, walking through sites, markets etc included in the itinerary.

These tours have a bit of physical activity but nothing that should challenge you too much. This could be climbing on and off public transport through to a walk through the destination you're travelling in, they can include walking only tours or a combination of walking and transport.

These tours involve a bit of physical activity from walking up and down hills in the destination you're travelling in or the surrounding areas. Climbing on and off local transport or riding a bike up to 30 kms along predominantly flat terrain or jumping in a kayak for a gentle paddle on flat water.

These Tours will provide you with some solid physical activity. Whether its bike riding, walking, trekking, kayaking or riding on public transport you will need to have a good level of fitness to enjoy this tour.

Be prepared for some serious physical activity. These tours are our most challenging and involve some serious walking, hiking or bike riding. Can involve step climbs by foot or pedal and some challenging public transport options in the destination you are travelling.

Luxury Rating

Some trips are like a stroll on the beach, while others have you trekking alpine passes. Some of you thrive on camping out on the savannah, while others may prefer a hot shower and a comfortable bed in a lodge. Follow the grading systems below to find the right trip for you.

To help you choose the trip that's right for you, we've broken all of our trips down into four service levels. Measuring the comfort level of the accommodation and transport. So whether you're travelling on a budget and want to save money by using public transport, or prefer upgraded accommodation and are happy to pay a little more, then we have a level for you.

Tour de Houston bicyclists urge for long-term measures to improve rider safety on city's roads

Rosie Nguyen Image

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Thousands of bicyclists took off from downtown Houston Sunday morning for the 17th annual Tour de Houston , a ride that travels through some of the city's most scenic areas.

Participants were in good spirits as they were greeted with beautiful weather at the starting line on Avenida de las Americas, right next to Discovery Green. Mayor John Whitmire joined Apache Corporation, the event's sponsor, to send off each of the three groups, riding in the 20, 40, and 60-mile routes.

The ride almost didn't take place this year.

Back in January, the Mayor's Office of Special Events preliminarily canceled the 2024 event due to a lack of funding. Whitmire said this was done without his consultation and when he found out, he explored other options to keep the event going.

The longest route takes participants through Houston's historic neighborhoods, vibrant districts, and parks before going all the way down to Clear Lake Park in Seabrook. The intersections along the way were not closed, but manned by traffic officers.

While the event allowed bicyclists to ride safely on Houston's roads on Sunday, some riders shared with ABC13 some of the long-term measures they'd like to see to make the city more bike-friendly.

"If they could connect the bike trails together to make even long trails, that would be the best thing the City of Houston could do to improve biking in the city, in my opinion. Connect the widest trails, like White Oak and Spring Creek. Those kinds of mega trails," Ulises Martin said.

"A clearly marked lane for bikes. We do know that we have to share with cars because the City of Houston is so car-oriented. Make a better effort of campaigning to let motorists know to be aware of cyclists," Phi Nguyen said.

Data obtained by ABC13 shows 13 cyclists died in accidents in Harris County in 2023. ABC13 asked the mayor where city officials stand on the issue of bicyclist safety.

"We're growing at a rapid rate. Our general mobility is very important. We've done great things along Allen Parkway. We need to make sure that there's a safe passage in Memorial Park. So there's a lot of things we still have to do," Whitmire said.

Meanwhile, organizers said proceeds from Tour de Houston will go towards the city's RE-Plant Houston Program, which helps plant thousands of trees and reforest parks and greenspaces.

WEATHER ALERT

A rip current statement in effect for Coastal Broward and Coastal Miami Dade Regions

Inside missy elliott's first headlining tour, with busta rhymes, ciara and timbaland.

Maria Sherman

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES – At a 24,000-square-foot studio near downtown Los Angeles, Missy Elliott , Busta Rhymes and Ciara are preparing to film the video announcement for a tour no one saw coming.

This summer, the trio — along with legendary producer Timbaland — will hit the road for Elliott's first headlining arena tour, appropriately titled “Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience.”

Recommended Videos

“Listen, I didn't realize I never had my own tour,” says a smiling Elliott, holding her tiny Yorkie, named Fendi, dressed in Gucci. “The last real tour that I went on — like, consistent days — was with Beyoncé and Alicia (Keys).”

That was in 2004.

Call it long overdue, but the timing is ideal. Over the last few years, Elliott — the forward-seeking artist — has been recognized for her talents as a musician, producer, songwriter and beyond .

In 2019, she became the first female rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. In 2021, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2022, her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia, named a boulevard after her. Last year, she became the first female hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“Getting those accolades, I feel like I've finally made it,” Elliott says. “It feels amazing. I feel so blessed.”

“What we’re seeing now is kind of the rest of the world catching up,” says Mona Scott-Young, Elliott's longtime manager and co-producer of the tour. “She’s always been ahead.”

In his green room, Busta Rhymes tells the AP that a tour had never come up in conversation across his decades of friendship and collaboration with Elliott. (He’s the intro and outro voice on her canonical debut album, 1997’s “Supa Dupa Fly." They’ve long since been inseparable.)

“She doesn’t really tour and she doesn’t perform often. I just kind of understood my sister — the unspoken thing,” he says. “You knew that if she decided to do this, go to the place where she was actually ready to tour, the s--- was going to be crazy because one thing Missy never did was play with her production. And you saw that in everything she did, from her shows to her videos.”

He continued: “Missy will turn down $10 million to do a show. … She’s super in control of her destiny in that way, and without compromise, is what made her super incredibly great. You can’t do nothing but love her for that. She’s a true artist in the purest form of the word.”

And make no mistake, this isn’t a nostalgia tour.

“We are in the best spaces in our lives, individually and collectively, we’re at the most experienced spaces in our lives,” Rhymes says. “We’re no longer Daniel-san. We’re now all Mr. Miyagi senseis. You know what I’m saying? We’re all at our perfection levels of what we’ve been doing and building together as a collective family for 30 years.”

Elliott echoed the sentiment.

“The lineup feels something special," says Elliott. “It's family. It's not put together.”

On set, the trio are styled by longtime collaborator June Ambrose — all-black looks, like if the Avengers were impeccably dressed and made up of R&B and hip-hop legends. They take photos as a group and individually.

After her solo photo shoot, Ciara starts to tear up.

“When I was a little girl, a little artist coming up, and you would ask me, ‘Who inspires you?’ I would infuse a combination of people: Michael Jackson and Prince and I would say Missy Elliott. She’s one of the best performers of all time,” she said.

“She means a lot to me as an artist but also as a person, as a sister. She’s always someone I can call for the truth, and she’s got to keep it real with me. She’s someone I can call and cry to if I need to.”

But ask her if there will be any on-stage collaborations — Elliott wrote and was featured on Ciara's huge hit “1, 2 Step”; Ciara's on Elliott's “Lose Control” — she laughs. “Missy's very particular. I don't want to ruin any surprises,” she says. “I think from beginning to end, people will be on their feet. All of us have a lot of energetic records."

“Somebody's gonna die!" Rhymes jokes.

“And come back to life," Ciara cuts in.

“Let's keep it positive,” Rhymes laughs. “Someone is gonna die and come back to life.”

Later, Elliott offers a hint at what fans can expect from the show. “It's an experience, it's not just you seeing the artist on the stage,” she says. "I want people to travel to those moments, those (music) videos , I want you to relive it on stage. It is most definitely a lot of good, good stuff. Expensive stuff!”

The “Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience” kicks off in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 4 at Rogers Arena and concludes in Rosemont, Illinois, at Allstate Arena on Aug. 22.

It will hit Seattle; Oakland, California; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; Denver; Austin, Texas; Houston; Fort Worth, Texas; Tampa, Florida; Sunrise, Florida; Atlanta; Baltimore; Hampton, Virginia; Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; Newark, New Jersey; Boston; Brooklyn, New York; Detroit; Montreal and Toronto.

The tour is produced by Young's Monami Entertainment and Live Nation. Presale begins tomorrow , and tickets will become available to the general public on Friday.
