It is in the grounds of an expansive 55-hectare nature reserve, with gorgeous white sand beaches nearby to relax on (it almost feels like you have your own private beach!).

There is a definite sense of tranquility permeating through the place, which is the ideal ambience for a restful break.

At meal times, you can gorge yourself on the buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner to your heart's content; they're definitely not stingy about portions here! 

They also offer snacks throughout the day, and adults can enjoy unlimited alcoholic drinks at the hotel's nightclub. There's plenty of nightly entertainment on offer too at the Royal Decameron Indigo, with daily activities organized for both children and adults.

In fact, this one is even closer to the airport, so it is if anything the more convenient of the two - all you need to do is follow the coastline of beaches and you'll get there. 

It just depends what sort of hotel you're looking for, as they offer different holiday experiences. Kaliko Beach Club consists of separate bungalows that guests can stay in as a couple, a family or even a group of friends.

Alongside the usual all-inclusive offerings, guests at the Kaliko Beach Club can enjoy being in close proximity to beautiful beaches, outdoor pools and restaurants.

As you can see, the selection of tru all-inclusive hotels in Haiti is limited, but there are many other hotels that offer bed and breakfast deals at a cheap rate. 

These allow you to try out the varied cuisine that Haiti produces, while you take in the fascinating history of the food there in a way you might not be able to at an all-inclusive hotel. 

Restaurants all around have authentic a-la-carte dinners cooked by the Haitian people, and may even have exclusive prices for guests staying at the hotels.

Nighty prices per person will usually not be as much at one of these as they would be at an all-inclusive property, but you will have to factor in additional money for your meals. 

It's a good idea to get a cross-section of what's on offer, so that you can budget properly for your beach holiday.

Situated in the Port-au-Prince suburb of Pétion-Ville, the Hotel Royal Oasis has a total of 128 rooms for their guests to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday.

The price per person is a little more expensive than some other hotels nearby, but you certainly get good value for money.

It is owned by Buteau Hospitality, a family group that runs several hotels and has been in the industry for around 100 years.

 If you can rely on anyone to look after you during your stay, it is certainly these people and their hardworking staff.

As you walk into the hotel, you'll find yourself standing in a spacious foyer, where you can sit and sip a drink or two while you wait.

You can also enjoy drinks in the bars located around the hotel, or in the rooftop lounge - the perfect hangout on a warm evening, where you can take in stunning views of the city. 

All private rooms, public areas and conference rooms in the Karibe Hotel have free wifi access, so it's easy to attend to any business you need to do, or simply surf the net in your spare time.

Lebon Hotel

Here's a budget option if you're looking for cheap rates while still getting the most out of your stay, so you have some extra money to spend on seeing the cultural history - there are many sites of interest within easy walking distance.

While there may not be quite as many luxury facilities as some other hotels in the vicinity, there is still plenty to get you excited.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, there are not many hotels that offer all-inclusive deals in the country of Haiti. However, there is an all-inclusive property or two available, and these are top hotels with a lot of facilities to provide an excellent stay. 

The Decameron Hotel and Kaliko Beach club - All Inclusive Resort are both great places if you don't want to face any additional charges from your holiday. 

The other hotels we have recommended don't include all your meals, but you can certainly make use of the convenient room service, family activities and flexible check-in/check-out times, as well as enjoying a continental breakfast every morning.

These hotels are all well-situated in or near to Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, which gives you great access to a varied collection of museums - a stay here opens up a combination of history and delicious food that is difficult to top elsewhere. 

The prices per person per night are reasonable, making Haiti one of the most exciting destinations in the world at this moment.

As a travel writer and editor for over a decade, I learned a thing or two about planning domestic and foreign trips…but I didn’t come around to the delight of the practically-planning-free allure of the all-inclusive resort until later in my experience excursion-ing. This appreciation was hard-won—I discovered how much more stressful it is to plan a trip budgeting my own money rather than company funds; you would too, if an a-la-carte resort charged an exorbitant amount for room service oatmeal and pot of coffee. Here are my suggestions for the top affordable all-inclusive resorts I’d travel to in 2024, ranging from beachy escapes in the Caribbean and Mexico to a couple surprising escapes right here in the U.S.

What Are the Advantages to All-Inclusive Resorts?

If you stay at an all-inclusive, you’re (mostly) safe from sticker shock when you’re presented with your final bill. Since the food, resort activities, Wi-Fi, parking and all the other little extras are bundled into the nightly rate, you are free to just roam the grounds booking your dinners, borrowing your water sports equipment and parking your kids in the kids’ club when you want that much-deserved me (or us) time.

However, buyer beware: While the term “all-inclusive” sounds definitive, the precise meaning can change depending on where in the world you’re booking your stay. For example, in coastal Mexican and tropical Caribbean resorts, the label usually means the price of the nightly room includes meals, activities and—this adds up, vacationers—unlimited alcoholic drinks. (So, for instance, imagine you’re on a cruise , except the ship analog would be the boundaries of your Cancun resort.) By contrast, in popular destinations including Hawaii, Las Vegas and continental U.S. resorts, room charges usually only cover the overnight room stay itself, with possibly a breakfast included. In these cases, sometimes domestic resorts will bundle room nights together and add themed perks—say, a show at the resort’s casino and dinner or a set of activities suitable for children—for a special price.

How I Chose the Top Affordable All-Inclusive Resorts

I searched for resorts with high-ranking user reviews costing below $350 per night, including meals and activities. Resort rates can swing wildly—from the premium on high season bookings during spring and summer school holidays, as well as during winter to the relative bargain shoulder season booking opportunities between Thanksgiving and New Year. So for comparison’s sake, I quoted prices for the May-June booking season. When resort rates diverge from the all-meals, all-activities model, I note it in the text. Wyndham Opens Dominican Republic All-Inclusive, Plans Second Resort in Punta Cana 

Pristine beaches, lush rainforests and winding rivers; the Dominican Republic’s Samana peninsula is a haven for nature lovers and those in search of a more untouched Caribbean. 

Now, the area has a new resort, combining all-inclusive convenience with easy access to the area’s natural wonders, with this week’s debut of Wyndham’s first-ever all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic: the family-friendly Wyndham Alltra Samana. 

Alltra, short for “all inclusive travel for all,” is Wyndham’s high-priority all-inclusive brand in the Caribbean, where it has already debuted two other resorts in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, respectively. 

The 404-room hotel is set in near the beach town of Las Galeras, and will be operated by all-inclusive company Playa Hotels and Resorts. A new waterpark for the resort has already launched construction, the company said.

Wyndham also told Caribbean Journal this week that it would be adding another all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic later this year, with the signing and planned launch of the new Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana. (More broadly, Wyndham opened another all-inclusive in the Caribbean with last summer’s debut of the Wyndham Grand Sam Lords Castle). 

The brand’s Punta Cana resort will have 12 eateries and 620 suites in the Uvero Alto area of greater Punta Cana, set at what is the former Dreams Punta Cana resort. 

It’s the second major brand change for the 620-room property, which reopened at the end of 2022 as what was then the Jewel Punta Cana resort .

If you’re planning a Samana vacation, Wyndham says it is offering up to 50 percent off bookings made by April 30, for stays through the end of March 2025.

I Went on a Girls Trip to This Luxury, Adults-only Resort in Jamaica — Here's Why It Made Me Love All-inclusives

A few days catching up with my best friend over frothy drinks completely changed my mind about all-inclusive resorts.

I was lounging in the Jamaican sun, my face tipped to the sky in an effort to soak up every ounce of the vitamin D that my body had been deprived of all winter. Chicken tenders and nachos had just been delivered by a room service attendant who attempted to hide her smile at the scene of our poolside picnic. As if this wasn’t paradise enough, my best friend and I were bobbing around in unicorn and flamingo floats, drinks in hand, toasting to a reunion two years in the making. 

We had just arrived at Excellence Oyster Bay , an adults-only luxury resort just outside of Montego Bay, Jamaica, for the kind of trip I usually avoid: all-inclusives. Not that spending a few days on the beach gorging myself on limitless food and adult beverages sounds terrible by any means, but when I travel, my style is go-go-go. I like to pack in all the things, experience the local culture and cuisine, and venture off the beaten path, and my past few experiences at all-inclusive resorts had been anything but that — crowded and with mediocre, buffet-style food. For that reason, I’d always avoided them, until now. 

My best friend of 30 years and I had thrown around a few ideas when planning a trip to celebrate our 40th birthdays. Despite being long-distance friends for more years than we actually resided in the same city, we had remained close since meeting in 7th grade band practice. After almost two years of not seeing each other, we were ready to celebrate and relax, which meant I needed to let go of my usual travel planning mentality. As it turns out, the turquoise-laden shores of Excellence Oyster Bay was the perfect place to do just that.

I’ll be honest, the thought of spending four days solely on the resort’s property made me a little antsy. But the friendly staff and ocean view from our room kicked relaxation mode in high gear. (The welcome glass of prosecco didn’t hurt, either.) In fact, having zero plans for several uninterrupted days dedicated to catching up with my oldest friend in a low-key setting was liberating. My mind was no longer attempting to maximize every minute; instead, I was entering go-with-the-flow mode — and that called for a frozen drink with my feet in the sand. 

On our first evening, we explored the resort grounds, which were big yet not so sprawling that reaching the opposite end demanded a super-long walk. We caught up over sunset; cotton-candy clouds mirrored in the calm Caribbean. With a smorgasbord of restaurants to choose from, dinnertime was our oyster. Over the course of our stay, we dabbled in Italian cuisine , got fancy at Chez Isabelle , tried local specialties like curried goat and oxtail stew at Caribbean Grove , and indulged in sommelier-picked wines on our final night at Zenith . Some of our favorites were the quick eats for lunch by the pool and beach; spicy jerk chicken at Jerk Hut and the Jamaican patties at Cielo Bar, washed down with a Red Stripe beer, of course. 

We spent mornings at the beach, which, contrary to my prior all-inclusive experiences, were quiet. Since the resort is located on its own private, gated peninsula, there wasn’t anyone trying to sell us anything. Afternoons were for pool-hopping, specifically in the floats I had ordered and painstakingly shoved into my carry-on suitcase, rendering it a lumpy piece of checked luggage (totally worth it). We became known as the "float girls" around the resort, dipping in all four of the communal pools, two of which were exclusive to Excellence Club guests. Excellence Club guests also get access to private beach areas, private check-in and checkout, and a laundry list of other perks.

A hydrotherapy treatment was included in our stay, so we ventured to the Miilé Spa one afternoon for the multistep process that had us both laughing so hard, our cheeks hurt. We bonded over the hot and cold water stations, one of which involved dumping a bucket of cold water over our heads.

There were plenty of activities , from stand-up paddleboarding to biking to yoga classes, and you can choose to do as much or little as you’d like. Surprisingly, I relished in not doing much of anything at all, except hanging out with my best friend and relaxing in the spectacular sunshine. The one thing we knew we couldn’t pass up was a nighttime excursion that had always been on my wish list: seeing bioluminescent water. The resort happens to be a short boat ride from this natural phenomenon, where we were able to swim in the water, creating a light show of electric blue all around us. 

The post-dinner scene was lively, with music and other performances every night. We danced to the Bob Marley cover band, and sometime during karaoke, I realized I was the most relaxed I’d been while traveling in a long time. The trip paid homage to the sleepovers of our teen years, when we had few worries and could always find something to laugh about in between never-ending chatter. Giving into the all-inclusive mentality gifted me permission to chill out and be fully present, and, as it turns out, I didn’t have to choose between a trip centered around cultural and culinary experiences — I could have a bit of both.

I boarded the plane with salty hair, some fresh memories with my best friend, and the small miracle of somehow fitting those pool floats back in my suitcase without breaking the zipper. I think I’ll do it again sometime.
