G’day, every day, Australia! Beaches to “barbies,” koalas to wallabies, Outback to ocean…where to begin your Australia tour on this island-country-continent? Travel in Australia and you'll find unique wildlife and dramatic landscapes, no doubt. Or perhaps the sun-kissed Harbour City of Sydney, Melbourne’s art scene or Barossa Valley’s world-class wineries. Go as far back as Aboriginal life in places like Ayers Rock and Alice Springs to discover how to survive in the bush, throw boomerangs and play a didgeridoo. Whatever your fancy, Australia welcomes you.

Destination must-see's.

Australia ms1

Ayers Rock (Uluru):

You will find this towering sandstone rock formation rising from the desert floor in the southern part of the Northern Territory of central Australia. It sits in a remote part of the Outback 208 miles southwest of the nearest large town, Alice Springs. The rock is one of Australia’s most recognizable natural landmarks and rises 1,142 feet… making it 2,381 feet above sea level.

Australia ms2

The most populous city in Australia is located on Australia’s east coast. This lively metropolis is surrounded by one of the world’s largest natural harbors. The first British settlers founded the city of Sydney in 1788, but it is said that the area had been inhabited for many years. Millions of tourists visit Sydney each year to see its natural features such as Sydney Harbour and Bondi Beach, as well as its man-made marvels like the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Australia ms3

The city was founded on August 30, 1835 and is located on a large natural bay – Port Phillip. Today it is often referred to as Australia’s cultural capital because of its renowned performing and visual arts scenes. Melbourne is known as the birthplace of Australian dance styles, the Australian film industry, Australian impressionist art and the Australian television industry.

Australia ms4

Kakadu National Park:

This protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia is about 100 miles east of Darwin. It is the largest national park in Australia covering 7,646 square miles, and measuring nearly 125 miles from north to south and 62 miles from east to west. The park is roughly half the size of Switzerland. Kakadu features many diverse landscapes perfect for outback adventure travel, nature activities and most of all, experiencing aboriginal culture.

Destination Must-Do's

Australia md1

Great Barrier Reef:

Experience one of the seven wonders of the natural world when you set off by boat for the Great Barrier Reef. As the world’s largest living organism, you’ll find over 2,800 individual coral reef systems which are home to amazingly diverse marine life. Their bright colors look remarkable against the turquoise waters. Jump in the water to snorkel and really experience the Reef in an immersive way! Stroll along the shore, relax on the beach, or just watch the fish and sea turtles swim past from the pier. It’s a truly good day at the Reef, mate.

Australia md2

Barossa Valley:

The valley located in South Australia is known as a major wine-producing region. In fact, it is renowned as one of the finest wine producing regions in the world. Located about 37 miles northeast of Adelaide, the valley is formed by the North Pala River, is home to more than 550 growers, and is famous for its Shiraz.

Australia md3

This island state that includes the island of Tasmania and the surrounding 334 islands is 150 miles south of the Australian mainland, separated by the Bass Strait. It may be famous for its Tasmanian Devil but it is also very eco-conscious with 45% of its land being reserves, national parks and World Heritage sites.

Australia md4

Phillip Island Penguin Parade

The little penguin is the smallest species of penguin. They are found on the coastlines of southern Australia and New Zealand. In Australia they are often called fairy penguins and in New Zealand they are known as little blue penguins or blue penguins. These penguins emerge from the shore at Phillip Island nearly every evening and make their way to their evening resting spots.

Sir Rod Stewart will be joined on his 2023 tour by revered artist Cyndi Lauper. Lauper is not only a ground-breaking talent but a Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning songwriter and performer. Her iconic voice, influential punk glamour and infectious live shows catapulted her to stardom.

Sir Rod Stewart’s rekindled love for songwriting is clear on his 31 st  studio album,  THE TEARS OF HERCULES . It is Stewart’s fourth new album of original songs since 2013, when he reconnected with his songwriting muse to record Time , the chart-topping album which entered the Top 10 in the US and ten countries worldwide, including #1 in the U.K. You won’t want to miss out on this show-stopping tour, but you better act quickly as we expect it’ll be a sell-out event!

Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting tickets to Rod Stewart’s 2023 Australian Tour

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

Rod Stewart, with very special guest Cyndi Lauper, will be bringing their tour to Australia in March 2023.  Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.

An Australian adventure in August? Sounds a-okay

Whether you’re a local looking to brighten up your winter or a traveler from far across the ocean, Australia has a continent’s worth of sights to see this August. Without the intense summer sun, this month is one of the best times to explore the desert center. See the drop-dropping sights of Uluru and Kata Tjuta then head west for even more stunning natural formations including  The Pinnacles at Nambung National Park. If you'd like a warmer climate, head north for treks on rainforest routes , sojourns on sandy shores and exhilarating encounters with endangered animals . Or, turn your attention south for the wine regions of South Australia , the postcard landmarks of Sydney or the Aboriginal heritage sites of Tassie .

UPDATE (22/3): Ed Sheeran has expanded his upcoming Australian following overwhelming demand.

Announcing his first tour of Australia since 2018 just last week, pre-sale tickets to Sheeran’s 2023 tour went on sale yesterday, with immense demand soon necessitating the addition of three extra shows in major cities.

Sheeran’s upcoming tour will now see him performing additional shows at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, Sydney’s Accor Stadium, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground in February and March of next year. Tickets to these upcoming shows are on sale from Wednesday, March 22nd, with full details available below.

Almost four years to the day since he wrapped up his last tour of the country, pop icon Ed Sheeran has announced his return to Australia, plotting a stadium tour for early 2023.

Announced this morning, the forthcoming tour will see Sheeran kick off his time down under with a pair of shows in New Zealand, before heading across the Tasman for headline dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.

Releasing his last album back in October, Sheeran’s  = (pronounced ‘Equals’), gave him his fifth-straight chart-topping album in the country. Fittingly, the record also featured the track “Visiting Hours” , which Sheeran had written for, and first premiered at the memorial service of, late Australian music icon Michael Gudinski .

However, despite a brief one-off trip to Australia early last year to play the heartfelt track, Sheeran has been eagerly awaiting to head out on the road for his new global tour. Now, the + – = x Tour (pronounced ‘The Mathematics Tour’) is set to kick off next month in Ireland, before it goes around the world, currently culminating with the aforementioned run of Aussie dates.

Tickets to Ed Sheeran’s upcoming Australian tour go on sale from Wednesday, March 23rd, with specific times detailed below. Likewise, a Frontier Members pre-sale runs for 24 hours from Monday, March 21st, with specific times available via Frontier Touring .

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years. Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party, so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.” - Paul

Paul will bring his acclaimed Got Back Tour to Australia this October/November!

Got Back starts with an intimate arena show in Adelaide, the city where The Beatles made history in 1964 on their first visit to Australia. An estimated 350,000 people lined the streets between the airport and Town Hall to catch a glimpse of the band. Paul will then travel to Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast performing in stadiums – with the shows in Newcastle and the Gold Coast being his first concerts there. These dates will see Paul return for his first live performances in Australia in six years. Paul was last in Australia in December 2017 (which saw him win a Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert in 2018), wowing audiences nationwide with a near three-hour show.

With songs like ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’,  ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

Paul launched the Got Back tour in February 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before performing what the British Times newspaper described as the “ best gig ever ” with his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022.

Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.

Taylor Swift announces Australian tour dates with top tickets going for more than $1,200

Blond woman in sparkly top points at camera against purple backdrop

Swifties waiting with bated breath have had their prayers answered, with Taylor Swift finally revealing the Australian dates on her Eras world concert tour.

The pop star will be journeying down under for five dates in February 2024.

However, Swift fans on a budget might be in store for a Cruel Summer as the top VIP packages are being sold for $1,249.99 .

For reference, the most recent ATO data from 2020-2021 puts the median Australian taxable income at  $980 per week .

The top VIP package, officially known as the It's Been A Long Time Coming package secures fans "One Unforgettable A Reserve Floor Ticket", four prints of the artist, a tote bag, a pin, a tour lanyard and a sticker and postcard set.

The other five VIP packages contain identical extras but gradually worsening seats from B Reserve to E Reserve and cost from $349.99 and $899.90 .

An A Reserve ticket by itself is $379.90 – a difference of $870 from the VIP package with the same ticket tier.

More wallet-conscious Swift fans can pay between $309.90 for B Reserve tickets down to $79.90 for a spot in the G reserve seats in the nosebleeds.

Last time Swift took a tour of Australia in 2018, the top VIP packages set fans back about $820 and included a personal message from Swift, a hardcover book and a CD.

Taylor Swift told her 112 million Instagram followers that she was voting for the Democrats.

Which Australian cities are on Taylor Swift's Eras tour?

In terms of how many cities she's visiting, the tour is pretty small.

Swift won't even complete a full east coast tour for her Australian Eras leg, stopping only at Sydney for three nights and Melbourne for two nights .

This is the first time Swift has skipped Brisbane in five tour cycles.

She played in Brisbane and Perth when she came to Australia last time, which was her Reputation tour back in 2018.

How many tickets will go on sale?

We don't have exact figures.

The capacity for the MCG, where Swift is performing two Melbourne shows, is more than 100,000 people .

Sydney's Accor stadium, where she will be playing three shows, has a capacity of 83,500 .

Which means there could be some 450,000 tickets up for sale.

Having a truncated Australian tour means Swift won't come near the record of most tickets sold for an Australian tour after Ed Sheeran shifted over 1 million tickets to his 2018 divide tour.

Sheeran performed 18 stadium shows across the country to achieve the feat.

How do you get tickets to Taylor Swift's Australian Eras tour?

Judging by the reaction to tickets for the US, it might be a tricky feat getting your hands on one.

In November last year, Ticketmaster cancelled the public sale of Swift's US tour "due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand".

Ticketmaster pinned it on its "verified fans" system , aimed at eliminating bots and scalpers, which couldn't keep up with the demand as a reported 3.5 million people tried to get tickets.

Swift's Australian Eras tour doesn't rely on the verified fans system but if you're forking out hundreds for the VIP packages you will be able to access tickets sooner.

The first tickets go on pre-sale on June 26 , but there are a few catches.

To access these tickets you have to hold an American Express card and fork out for one of the top two VIP packages — so, the most expensive tickets.

The Frontier Member pre-sale , which has a much lower bar of entry, begins on June 28 and finally, the general public will be able to buy tickets from 2pm local time on June 30 .

However, If you manage to get your hands on tickets next week, you're not going to receive anything until a week before your show.

This is called ticket suppression and it aims to dissuade scalpers from buying up tickets and reselling them.

There's also a purchase limit of four tickets per transaction.

Ashes 2023 schedule: Full list of fixtures, venues and start times for England v Australia series

Ashes urn

Australia will tour England for five men’s Test matches and the women’s Ashes and in 2023 — here’s the full schedule, list of fixtures and match timings of Ashes 2023.

England will host Australia for five men’s Test matches across June and July, 2023, in a quest to regain the Ashes that they conceded when they lost 0-4 on the 2017/18 tour of Australia. Since then, England have drawn 2-2 at home and lost 0-4 again in 2021/22, when they toured Australia. However, with Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum at the helm, England will back themselves in Test cricket’s oldest contest.

This will be the first time in 139 years that England will not host an Ashes Test match in August. The Test matches will be played at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Headingley, Old Trafford, and The Oval.

bet365

England will also host Australia women for the usual multi-format Ashes series, comprising a Test match, three Twenty20 Internationals, and three ODIs. The match, at Trent Bridge, will be only the second five-day Test in the history of women’s cricket, after the North Sydney Oval Test of 1991/92 between Australia and England. Australia have been holding the Women’s Ashes since their 10-6 win in 2015: they drew 8-8 in 2017/18 (at home) and won 12-4 in each of 2019 (in England) and 2021/22 (at home).
