The tour will kick off in the United States in September heading to Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Boston and many more cities in 2024. The global tour continues in 2025 to a myriad of cities across the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands and Australia. Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert audiences will immerse themselves in a two-hour odyssey with a live orchestra bringing the show’s iconic musical score to life, in perfect harmony with highlights and favorite moments from all three seasons of the series. Taiko and erhu will share the spotlight with violins and clarinets, while the series' most beloved scenes play out on a full-size cinema screen, bringing viewers into the Avatar world to experience the series’ most memorable moments with Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Zuko and more.

The creative mastermind behind the original music for the Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series, Emmy Award-winning composer and musician Jeremy Zuckerman, has teamed up with show co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko as well as Jeff Adams (the show's original editor) to expand the series original compositions for the concert series. From September through November, a live orchestra will perform the soundtrack to “Avatar: The Last Airbender” in tandem with highlights from the iconic animated series at venues all over North America.

New York and New Jersey-based fans of the show are in luck, too.

The ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert’ orchestral tour comes to Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on Oct. 8, Red Bank, NJ’s Count Basie Center For The Arts on Oct. 10 and Newark, NJ’s New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Oct. 13.

At all two-hour shows, Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, and Zuko’s three-season heroic quest is brought to life by taiko drums, erhu spike fiddles, violins, and clarinets in an arrangement by “Avatar’s” Emmy Award-winning composer Jeremy Zuckerman that fuses Eastern and Western music.

“It’s been incredibly satisfying and moving to see the audiences’ emotional response to these concerts, and to be a part of that atmosphere is a uniquely beautiful experience,” Zuckerman said. “I’m overjoyed that many more people – Avatar fans both new and old – will get to experience the show during this wider tour.”

How to watch “Avatar: The Last Airbender”

The three-season animated series tells the story of young Aang, who was woken from a long hibernation by Katara and Sokka. No longer in his slumber, Aang learns he’s an Avatar with air-bending powers that can defeat the evil Fire Nation.

The hit animated series “ Avatar: The Last Airbender ” is going on a concert tour, reaching a total of 100 cities across the world and multiple stops in Florida.

What is the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Concert Series?

Per its website , this is a live-to-screen concert experience with a live orchestra bringing the cartoon's soundtrack to life as fans follow a collection of moments on Aang's journey.

"A mesmerizing orchestral ensemble, fusing Eastern and Western musical elements, delivers Avatar: The Last Airbender’s iconic music score in flawless harmony with a bespoke compilation of the show’s three seasons shown on a full-size cinema screen," the description states. "The series’ music track is exclusively performed live, leaving the original spoken audio track and sound effects untouched."

Variety reported earlier this year that original composer Jeremy Zuckerman has teamed up with the show's co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, as well as original editor Jeff Adams, to expand “Avatar’s” compositions for the world tour.

"Some of these compositions are over 20 years old. It didn’t occur to me then that the music would be so enduring,” Zuckerman told Variety. “I think its longevity is a testament to the quality of the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ story, as much as — if not more so — to the quality of the music.

"Now, years later, there are so many things I wouldn’t do compositionally and creatively … In my mind, the music was being generated by an orchestra. But that was so beyond the budget. It didn’t even enter into the realm of possibility. And now here we are 20-plus years later, actually getting to hear this music performed by an orchestra, sounding close to what it would’ve been like in my 26-year-old self’s most indulgent fantasies. I’m so profoundly amazed and grateful.”

AVATAR will release its ninth album, "Dance Devil Dance" , on February 17 via Thirty Tigers . The LP was recorded in the Swedish wilderness, far away from all the perceived glamor of the big city and modern studios. Jay Ruston ( ANTHRAX , MR. BUNGLE , CROBOT , STONE SOUR , AMON AMARTH , URIAH HEEP ) returned as producer. He first worked with AVATAR when he mixed "Hail The Apocalypse" , a role he reprised on "Feathers & Flesh" before taking the wheel as producer on "Avatar Country" and "Hunter Gatherer" .

Last year, AVATAR announced its signing to Thirty Tigers and the launch of its own Black Waltz Records imprint. In addition, Eckerström and his bandmates unleashed four new songs which, according to the group, represented a taste of things to come.

Last August, vocalist Johannes Eckerström told TotalRock about AVATAR 's upcoming LP: "My best thing to liken it to is [ JUDAS PRIEST 's] 'British Steel' in the sense of that… JUDAS PRIEST were always great, and before 'British Steel' you had 'Killing Machine' , you had 'Sad Wings Of Destiny' and all this, but they were a great heavy metal band, a great rock and roll band, a great prog band at times and kind of eclectic. And then with 'British Steel' I find they really got laser focused, cut off the fat. And we're focused on what we feel right now metal needs — this very pompous but yet…

"Honestly, I feel like we have to save heavy metal," he continued. "Because either people are lost in the past… They did it better than we will ever do what they do. Don't do that. What's next? What's next for us? And do that without disappearing up your own asses completely.

"When people end up doing metal that is best enjoyed while sitting down and shutting up, you miss the point," Johannes added. "Metal is the music that you move to — in the pit, banging your head, dancing around, whatever, lifting weights, drinking too much, getting pregnant, impregnating someone, doing things. It's music to move with. You have drums in the band; why would you have drums if you don't move?

"We look a lot to the masters — that is wisdom from MOTÖRHEAD , from JUDAS PRIEST , from a lot of things — but then just… yeah, that, but not that . They did that. We're now and what's next with that. Where can we try to help bring it? And that is this album."

AVATAR enjoyed quite a productive summer last year, traipsing North America on a successful headline tour. They next embarked on some of the biggest shows of the career — a trek with IRON MAIDEN , supporting the band in stadiums in Brazil. AVATAR also played arenas supporting SABATON . They secured slots at major festivals globally — Inkcarceration , Summer Breeze and Bloodstock Open Air , among others.

Guide to Explore Avatar Mountains in Zhangjiajie

Photos of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the sensational Hollywood movie “Avatar”, you must have watched at least one. No matter on the photos or in the movie, the towering mountains truly exist on our earth for your real visit in person.

What are the Avatar Mountains

The first 3D movie “Avatar” was on show at the cinemas around the world in 2009, which displays an amazing “Pandora” world with a lot of floating mountains and unknown creatures with magic powers. Hence, the movie made a great flutter worldwide and also intrigued people’s curiosity about the Avatar Mountains. Back to reality, those mountains are not floating, but the authentic prototype inspiring the movie director Mr. James Cameron to design the Avatar mountains can be found and in Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan National Forest Park in China and will also make you wow at the incredible ability of nature creation on such fascinating pinnacles.

Wulingyuan National Forest Park that is usually know as Zhangjiajie National Forest Park has been announced as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 and is the first national forest park in China , with its more than 3,000 quartzite sandstone pillars and peaks with striking beauty of landscape. Before James visiting there to get the inspiration of the movie, it has already been famous. But after the movie on show, many other groups of international people go to the park to see the Avatar Mountains every year.

Which One Is the Hallelujah Mountain of “Pandora”

Among all the floating mountains in Avatar, the most impressive one must be the “Hallelujah Mountain”, rarely disappearing on the post. In Zhangjiajie Forest Park, the “South Sky Pillar” in Yuanjiajie Scenic Area is rightly the prototype of the most famous Avatar floating mountain. Towering vertically up to 3,544 feet, this rock column of covered by lush foliage on its peak and part of the body, with major stone part exposing in the air to let you see its layers of sharp carving by nature. Moreover, the lower part of the mountain is quite narrower than the upper major part, which is rare to see in the world. To seize the popularity of the movie, the park official changed the name of mountain into “Avatar Hallelujah Mountain” in 2010 to let visitors know the inspiration story of James and help them find the real prototype of that unbelievable mountain in the movie.

Where to Take Photos of the Hallelujah Mountain?

Just in front of the Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, there is a viewing deck for your perfect sightseeing of the mountain superstar. You can see the mountain pillar rising high from the deep valley and surrounded by a lot of other stone mountains. Besides, there is a statue of the blue flying dragon in “Avatar”, which you can take an instagrammable photo with (free).

Where are Avatar Mountains & How to Get There

Avatar Mountains are the thousands of towering mountain pillars in Yuanjiajie Scenic Area in Wulingyuan National Forest Park in Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province in South China.

Get to Zhangjiajie City:

Here is Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport serving for domestic flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Kunming, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Qingdao, etc. and international flights from Bangkok, Osaka and so on. Besides, you can get to Zhangjiajie by train. And you can get to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station so far by bullet trains from Changsha (2.5-3.5 hours), or to Zhangjiajie Railway Station by normal trains from Yichang (4.5-5 hours), Tongren (about 7 hours), Wuhan (10 hours), Xian (15 hours), Shanghai (20 hours), Beijing (23 hours), etc.

Get to Wulingyuan National Forest Park:

The park is about 35 kilometers from Zhangjiajie downtown. You can take a local taxi to get there from the downtown, Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport and Zhangjiajie Railway Station, and that usually takes about 50-60 minutes.

Besides, there are many buses from Zhangjiajie Central Bus Terminal in downtown to Wulingyuan Bus Terminal at foot of the forest park that need about 50 minutes (35km). You can take the bus to Wulingyuan and walk to Wujiayu Ticket Station to enter Zhangjiajie Forest Park for about 15-20 minutes (1.2km).

How to Plan Your Itinerary of Avatar Mountains

Since Wulingyuan National Forest Park is very large and there are many ways to walk, many people arrange 2 days in the forest park scenic area to see the Avatar Mountains.

Enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to take the cable car to Huangshi Village , and then explore the lovely tranquil scenery along Golden Whip Brook with beautiful verdant natural water views. Stay in Wulingyuan Town tonight.

Enter the park again from Forest Park Ticket Station and then visit Yuanjiajie to take Bailong Elevator and explore the famous mountain pillar scenery and the iconic “Avatar Hallelujah Mountain”. Then, take the sightseeing bus to Tianzi Mountain. Then you can transfer to Zhangjiajie airport or train station for leaving.

AMC Theatres , the world’s largest cinema chain, is leaning into distribution.

The company is expanding its distribution team with a key hire and promotion, underscoring its commitment to releasing its own movies in addition to showcasing titles from traditional and independent studios. AMC Theatres launched its distribution team with the premieres of last year’s concert films, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.”

AMC is bolstering the team by promoting Kevin Arnold to VP of programming promotions and partnerships, effective immediately. Arnold, who joined AMC in 2011, has risen through the ranks in the film programming department. Now, he will oversees promotional strategies that aim to drive moviegoer engagement and increase ticket sales.

“The remarkable success of AMC Theatres Distribution last fall opened an exciting new business for AMC, and we are thrilled to have Stephanie Terifay’s expertise and enthusiasm build upon the brilliant leadership of Nikkole Denson-Randolph,” said Elizabeth Frank, AMC’s chief content officer. “Through the addition of Stephanie and the much-deserved elevation of Kevin Arnold, AMC Theatres Distribution is well positioned to continue to deliver exciting and compelling content to moviegoers at AMC and across the industry domestically and internationally.”

AMC seems to be heeding the advice of its unofficial box office queen: “Shake it off.”
