Queen B is coming to town next week and the Vancouver Beyhive is buzzing with excitement.

The North American leg of Beyoncé's "Renaissance" world tour is currently underway and the "Single Ladies" singer will be stopping for a show in Vancouver on Monday (Sept. 11) at BC Place before heading down to Seattle.

Vancouverites and fans flying in to attend the musical extravaganza may want to keep this ultimate concert guide handy to avoid any frustrations and mishaps the night of the show.

Getting there

The concert starts at 8 p.m. but doors open at 6 p.m., giving fans plenty of time to buy merch, get any food or drinks, and find their seat inside the venue.

BC Place is located near the Expo Line’s Stadium–Chinatown Station and Canada Line’s Yaletown–Roundhouse Station. Both SkyTrain lines will be operating their regular service and there will not be a special schedule or train to assist the concert crowd rush before or after the show.

Capstan Station construction along Canada Line will be paused on the night of the concert.

Hullo Ferries, which had a delayed launch last month , will run a late-night sailing from its downtown Vancouver terminal at the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre (1055 Canada Place) back to Nanaimo at 11:30 p.m.

The Beyonce concert is expected to wrap up around 11 p.m. which means passengers travelling to Nanaimo by boat will have to rush to make the sailing.

There are several ways to get to the Vancouver terminal from BC Place, which each takes about 20 minutes, according to Google.

  • SkyTrain - take the Expo Line from Stadium-Chinatown Station to Burrard Station then walk about 10 minutes to the ferry terminal
  • Bus - hop on the 5, 246, or 19 bus then walk around 15 minutes to the ferry terminal
  • Walk - getting to the ferry terminal by foot will take approximately 30 minutes

Hullo Ferries General tickets cost $39.99 for a one-way trip and $75 for a round-trip. Tickets can be purchased online .

A free bike valet will be available in the parking lot at the corner of Pacific Boulevard and Griffiths Way for those cycling to the show. It will be open from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The valet also accepts skateboards, unicycles, rollerblades, and strollers. A bag check is available too.

Review: Beyoncé's Vancouver concert a marathon arena experience Back to video

Monday night at B.C. Place, fans turned out at the House of Chrome strutting their most fab “silver-wears.”

The singer announced her birthday wish to see the crowd become a “shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy” for her shows from Aug. 23 to Sept. 22. Her birthday is Sept. 4.

The pre-show excitement was just another example of the way “Queen Bey” has built excitement around the tour in support of her Grammy-winning seventh studio album.

The dance-heavy Renaissance is a dedication to the Black, Latinx and LGBTQ2+ underground club music that provided the template for today’s global EDM scene. The album is a romp of upbeat, groove-laden party tracks of the type you can easily picture blowing up in a large arena. And B.C. Place was buzzing with anticipation.

The show kicked-off at 8 p.m. Over the next two-plus hours, the program, broken down into segments — the Signboard, Renaissance, Motherboard, Opulence, Anointed, Anointed Pt.2, Memories Run Through the Wires and closing Mind Control — boasted 39 tunes. Renaissance is billed as Act 1 of a series that will be continued in future recordings.

While not everyone came in their shiny finery, enough fans did turn out to give a good glimmer from the floor to the upper levels. What was really the highlight, though, was those who went the distance and more. Among the best were skin-layer catsuits to cowboy regalia from a stampede that seemed way more fun than anything in Calgary.

Naturally, many added to their wardrobes upon arrival.

Ed Sheeran may have recently broken the stadium’s attendance records , but the merchandise booth lines at this show sure seemed likely to break venue sales records. They were almost up to the entry gate from the first level down. Fortunately, the show started well after the 8 p.m. listed time.

But, oh, what a start.

Emerging in sartorial blue robes as the stage wheel rolled away to reveal the mirrored multi-tiered bandstand and silver decked 11-piece band, Beyoncé belted out an acrobatic Dangerously In Love from the Destiny’s Child days. And afew more ballads before the Afro-Futurist bass bombing Renaissance intro video had downtown towers shaking.

The “Queen Bey” emerged in an armoured and pink Muppet fur coat, feet up, to deliver a blazing Cozy framed by over a dozen dancers.

The party was on.

Obviously, high production values are a given at a show by such an artist. But the dancing, visuals and lighting were excellent. Every screen showcased just the right shot as camera people and floating remote cams worked their magic.

Then, another interlude and, ba-bang, it was a full-force Funkadelic vamp on Cuff It and some rubber baselines in Energy that just slammed.

Formation was rather rote and the costumes weren’t up to snuff. Of course, this segment featured more contemporary EDM stylings and — gasp — they might not be as enduring and resonant as the more vintage vibes of earlier segments. A matter of taste, for sure.

The crowd freaked out when Beyoncé’s 11 year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter joined the dancers to showcase some moves. She handled her time in the spotlight just like she was born under it.

By this time, many major shows would be winding down, but there were nearly 20 songs remaining and the fire walls and lasers were just warming up. Hits and more just kept coming.

It was a marathon arena experience by an artist who certainly delivers.

DROP EVERYTHING! After years of waiting, Beyoncé has officially announced that she is going on a massive world tour this year. And fans north of the border can rejoice because The Renaissance World Tour has three stops in Canada.

Queen B didn’t have to say much to hype the millions of fans (and counting) on Wednesday after announcing her world tour via Instagram.

The tour kicks off in Europe in May before heading to Canada for her first stop in July then later once again in September.

Recent Posts: Canadian province ranked one of the most welcoming places on Earth Lil Wayne is coming to Toronto & it’s his only Canadian tour stop

View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce)

The Canadian stops are in none other than Toronto’s Rogers Centre on July 8th and 9th. The singer was only supposed to put on one show in Toronto but added a second date, which we are thrilled about!

Bey will hit Vancouver’s BC Place on September 11th. The year has barely begun and 2023 is starting to look like the year of concerts considering many acts like Madonna , Lil Wayne, and more are coming to Canada.

The Beyhive can register now for pre-sale sale tickets via the official tour website.

All you have to do is fill out your information for Verified Fan which in turn helps filter out buyers looking to resell tickets, “so more tickets get to fans who are going to hold on to tickets and attend the show.”

If you have a Ticketmaster account, all you have to do is click the city you’d like to see her live in, and fill out the rest of the information.

Grammy-winning artist Beyoncé is back on her first solo tour since 2016. Tickets are still on sale for those who wish to see Beyoncé perform in her celebrated Renaissance World Tour through October 2023. Stick with us, and we'll show you the best options for where to buy Beyoncé tickets today.

The 2023 Renaissance World Tour kicked off with an international leg in Sweden on May 10, 2023. Beyoncé then traveled across ten European countries before arriving in North America on July 8. The tour's United States and Canada leg will continue through October 1 as the musician plays 13 more shows in nine cities.

Supporting her 2022 album "Renaissance," the concert setlists have included Beyoncé playing each track from her seventh studio album. The Renaissance World Tour also includes "Queen Bey" playing various hits from her larger discography, such as "Formation," "Love on Top," and "Crazy in Love."

If you're aiming to buy tickets for the final performances of Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, we've got you covered. Here's our breakdown of Beyoncé's remaining tour schedule, purchasing details, and resale and original ticket prices. Or you can browse through the available tickets left through StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Beyoncé 2023 Renaissance tour schedule

The Renaissance World Tour still has 11 concert dates across eight cities, including three shows in Inglewood, California. In addition to one stop in Vancouver, Canada, the remaining shows will be held in the United States. Tickets are the most expensive in Beyoncé's hometown of Houston, Texas. All concert times are listed in local time zones. We've linked to the ticket site with the cheapest deals (at the time of writing) in the 'Prices from' column.

Where to buy tickets for Beyoncé 2023 Renaissance tour

You can purchase original tickets to Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour through Ticketmaster , although only a select number remain for each 2023 date and location. However, the tickets still available on Ticketmaster are typically more expensive than those found on verified resale platforms such as StubHub and Vivid Seats .

The prices for standard tickets to Beyoncé's concerts from StubHub start at approximately $102 on the lower end to nearly $400, depending on the venue. Vivid Seats offers similar price ranges for standard Renaissance World Tour tickets, ranging from about $100 in Las Vegas to $375 in Houston. When considering VIP packages, the cost increases significantly on each purchasing platform.

How much are Beyoncé tickets?

The prices for original Beyoncé concert tickets have risen considerably since the end of the initial Verified Fan Sale through Ticketmaster. Additionally, the cost of an original ticket varies depending on the demand for a particular location and date.

For instance, the cheapest price on Ticketmaster for a standard original ticket to the 2023 Renaissance World Tour is $91.83 for her Las Vegas, Nevada show on August 27. However, there are very few standard original tickets remaining for Beyoncé's concerts, so you may have better luck with verified resales.

Meanwhile, some original VIP packages, such as the Pure/Honey on Stage Risers, cost well over $3,000. At Beyoncé's August 30 performance in Santa Clara, the original VIP package costs $3,601. On the less expensive side, original Beyhive VIP Package prices are $1,401 in Seattle. Here's a breakdown of the various Beyoncé VIP packages from Ticketmaster's website .

Original prices typically come in much higher than resale prices for Beyoncé concerts. Many of the cheaper tickets are verified resales for nearer tour dates, suggesting you might find the best prices when it gets closer to the concert date.

Who is opening for Beyoncé's tour?

Beyoncé's world tour does not include any opening acts from other artists. Once the showtime begins for each concert date, it will be the Queen Bey herself who comes onstage.

There are no traditional opening acts for the 2023 Renaissance World Tour because Beyoncé is technically the opener to her own concerts. The time typically reserved for other artists at the start of the concert instead sees Beyoncé sing R&B ballads from her early discography, beginning with her Destiny's Child-era 2000 song "Dangerously in Love 2."

Approximately four songs are played in Beyoncé's "Opening Act" before moving into her "Renaissance" tracks. The concert is approximately two and a half hours long with 31 songs on the setlist, so Beyoncé's tour has more than enough hit music to fill the night.

Since Beyoncé opened with the international leg of her ninth solo tour, the music sensation will take her final bow of the concert series on October 1 in Kansas City, Missouri. While the remaining concert dates are primarily in the United States, there will be one last international show in Vancouver, Canada, on September 11, 2023.

Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour

By Evan Minsker and Allison Hussey

Beyonc

Beyoncé has announced that she’s touring in support of her latest album, Renaissance . The tour begins with a European leg in May, followed by dates in Canada and the United States that extend from from early July through late September. It’s her first tour since her 2018 co-headlining On the Run II Tour with Jay-Z behind their collaborative album, Everything Is Love , and her first headlining tour since 2016’s Formation World Tour behind Lemonade . The Renaissance World Tour is produced by Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation. See all of the dates below.

Renaissance arrived July 29, rising swiftly to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marking Beyoncé’s seventh album to summit the albums chart. It is the first act in what will be a three-part series, she has indicated.

Beyoncé hinted at her world tour in late October, during the fifth annual Wearable Art Gala, where the raffle included “ a UNIQUE experience ” to see her on the Renaissance tour. Purported images from the auction featured descriptions of the summer 2023 trek. Valued at $20,000, the package included first-class plane tickets, a three-night hotel stay, two concert tickets, and a guided backstage tour from Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles aka Miss Tina. Beyoncé was reportedly in attendance at the gala. In January, she performed at the opening of a new luxury resort in Dubai, but did not play any Renaissance material at the private concert . It was her first live performance since 2020.

Since sharing Renaissance , Beyoncé has made a few adjustments to the album; she replaced ableist lyrics in “ Heated ,” and removed an interpolation of Kelis ’ “Milkshake” on “Energy” after Kelis said she was not informed by Beyoncé and her team that her music was going to be used on the new album. Beyoncé also dropped Honey Dijon and Madonna remixes of “ Break My Soul .”

In 2019, Beyoncé released Homecoming: The Live Album . The next year, she shared Black Is King , a visual album based on her 2019 soundtrack for The Lion King: The Gift . (Beyoncé voiced adult Nala in the CGI remake film.) On Juneteenth of that year, she surprise-released “ Black Parade ,” which would go on to win the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance . At the same ceremony, she also won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song (for her feature on the remix of Megan Thee Stallion ’s “ Savage ”), as well as Best Music Video (for The Gift ’s “ Brown Skin Girl ”). “ Be Alive ”—her contribution to the King Richard soundtrack—was nominated for an Oscar at last year’s ceremony.

Beyoncé is nominated for nine honors at the 2023 Grammy Awards : Record of the Year , Song of the Year , and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Break My Soul”; Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for Renaissance ; Best R&B Performance for “Virgo’s Groove”; Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa”; Best R&B Song for “Cuff It”; and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Be Alive.”

Although Eilish only first gained attention for her music in 2015 when she uploaded the song "Ocean Eyes" to SoundCloud, the influential artist quickly became a household name among both young people and their parents alike. She and her brother, Finneas O'Connell, have gone on to write, produce, and perform many other hits, like “Bad Guy,” “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?,” “Bury a Friend,” and “All the Good Girls Go to Hell.”

Eilish, known for her distinctive fashion sense opting for oversized and baggy clothing, solidified her star status with her introspective lyrics and remarkable stage presence. She has gone on to win multiple Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and even recently, two Oscars for “What Was I Made For?,” the popular ballad from the “Barbie” movie .

This highly anticipated upcoming tour kicks off in late September in Quebec, Canada, but will quickly make its way across North America through late December, with stops in Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, Newark, Boston, and Pittsburgh, just to name a few cities. After the American leg of her tour, Eilish will continue touring in Europe come April 2025.

How to Get Tickets to Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour

Fans who signed up for pre-sale access should check their emails for details. American Express card members will also receive early access to buy tickets, but you must use your AMEX upon checkout. Those who don’t have pre-sale codes will have to wait until May 3 to try to purchase.

And should they sell out during the pre-sale process, there’s always resale sites like StubHub , Vivid Seats , and SeatGeek . The only snag? Set your expectations. Resale tickets for Eilish will likely cost more than face value.

Upper sections in Chicago are going for $170, while lower sections are going for around $600. We're not sure how long those prices will remain, as ticket costs on these resale sites tend to fluctuate based on demand.

What to Expect at Billie Eilish's Concert

Since the tour hasn’t kicked off yet, we’re still at the edge of our seats for what we might see. But if memory serves us right, Eilish’s past live shows have all been visually stunning and complemented her unique sound and style. You’ll probably experience elaborate stage designs, immersive lighting effects, and multimedia elements that enhance her music.

The singer’s performances have often been praised for moments of high energy balanced with emotional depth. She always maintains an intimate connection with her audience through her moving lyrics and stage presence. Simply put, Eilish’s music is magic.

While we anxiously await the setlist, Billboard reports that Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour tour will feature various sustainability efforts, such as a collaboration with Support + Feed that aims to inspire fans to eat plant-based meals. A portion of North American ticket sales will also go to support efforts that address the climate crisis and food insecurity.

Concertgoers: Plan to bring an empty, refillable water bottle to the show. Those who forget can also donate money to receive a RockNFill Nalgene bottle to use at the show. Water refill stations will be available at every venue.

Opinion: ‘How I changed my tune on ‘Cowboy Carter’

E ditor’s Note: Victor Blackwell is a CNN anchor and correspondent. The views expressed here are his own. Read more opinion on CNN. CNN FlashDocs examines the debate about what defines country music in the new film ” Call Me Country: Beyoncé & Nashville’s Renaissance .” It’s available to stream in the US on Friday, April 26 on Max.

After its celebrated release, “Cowboy Carter” broke a number of records, so it may not be news to read that it’s one of my favorite Beyoncé albums. But the reason why I feel that way might surprise you.

Some context: I’m a Beyoncé fan. My closest friends are Beyoncé fans. We review her music together. We’re in a standing presale concert ticket alliance: first one to qualify to buy tickets buys for the group.

We’ve sung with her and tens of thousands of members of the BeyHive until I was hoarse at every one of her tours over the last decade. Every concert day, we pregame with the same cocktails. We take the same mode of transportation to the stadium. We tell the same story about the time we lucked out on tickets so good during Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “On the Run” tour that we could touch the stage.

From the announcement of a new tour to the post-concert kickback, Beyoncé offers us 40-somethings an excitement akin to kids on Christmas morning. As our lives have grown and changed, it’s something we’ve come to rely upon.

So when she capped a 90-second Verizon Super Bowl commercial with, “Ok, they ready. Drop the new music,” you would’ve thought we had won the Powerball or something.

“New music!?!”

A few of us immediately rummaged for our phones and rushed to the Apple Music app. It took a few minutes for “Texas Hold ‘Em” to post, but when we heard it for the first time, we stood still.

There was no beat to bob our heads to. This was toe-tapping music.

Country. Legit country.

There had been rumors that it was coming, but I wasn’t ready.

We finished the song — but we didn’t play it again that night. We all went home before the game ended.

These new songs didn’t put me in a chokehold like “Formation.” They weren’t cultural markers like “Single Lades.” They weren’t going to get me to learn dance steps, as I did after hearing “Get Me Bodied.” I resigned myself to skipping Queen Bey’s impending country music tour, the first time in a long time that I’d be passing up a chance to see her onstage.

That was my initial reaction as a devoted fan. It was only after the ugly tone of rejection by some others that I came to view “Cowboy Carter” through a different prism.

Everyone is entitled to like or dislike any music. But in a February TV interview, actor and country artist John Schneider bemoaned Beyoncé’s venture into the genre and  compared her to a dog peeing on a tree .

“They’ve got to make their mark, just like a dog in a dog walk park. You know, every dog has to mark every tree, right? So that’s what’s going on here,” Schneider said.

He expressed his opposition in response to a question about “lefties in the entertainment industry” who “won’t leave any area alone.” While Beyoncé has publicly supported Democratic candidates in the past, so have country legends Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks and Faith Hill — and there’s no resistance to their claim to country music.

Schneider insisted that his comments were not race-based, saying that his reference to a dog marking a tree was “an expression I’ve used my whole life.” He also noted that in the original interview, “You’ll see the first thing I said about Beyoncé was that I think Beyoncé is the greatest female vocalist since Whitney Houston.”

Nevertheless, the country music industry has historically been hostile to Black women artists.

According to data  cited in a recent study  by music scholar Jada Watson, of 12,718 unique country songs played between 2002 and 2022, only 0.3% were by  Black female artists. In 2016, Beyoncé performed at the Country Music Awards with the then-Dixie Chicks (they changed their name to The Chicks in 2020), prompting  a now-notorious backlash .

Long before that, Linda Martell, the first Black woman to achieve commercial success in the genre, was excoriated for daring to transition from gospel and R&B to country. Martell is featured twice on “Cowboy Carter,”  including her intro  to “Spaghettii,” asking rhetorically, “Genres are a funny little concept, aren’t they? Yes they are.”

When Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, age 7, won her first talent show singing  John Lennon’s “Imagine,” reigning atop Billboard’s Hot Country Singles and Country Albums chart was unfathomable, especially because no other Black woman had, until now.

Back then, Billboard was still only ranking R&B and burgeoning hip hop on its Hot Black Singles chart. It was years before the first of the three Black solo female artists to date (Natalie Cole, Whitney Houston and Lauryn Hill) had been awarded the Grammy for Album of the Year. And it was nearly three decades before Beyoncé herself broke the record for most Grammy wins ever.

Billboard has since renamed its ‘Black’ chart. The Recording Academy has expanded its Grammy categories, but it might all be too little, too late. A growing number of established artists are successfully challenging the rules of yesteryear that used race and radio play to dictate genre. And the ways in which we buy and consume music, via playlists, social media and algorithms, lend themselves to line-blurring and genre-crossing. If a song is omnipresent on TikTok, does it need the validation of a Grammy?

When I first heard “Texas Hold ‘Em,” I was disappointed because it didn’t meet my expectations — or put another way, it fell short of my preconceived notions about Beyoncé’s music. In hindsight, that disruption is exactly what I should have expected. Beyoncé has always stretched herself creatively and has transcended the restraints of musical genres. Her versatility ranges from the R&B of her Destiny’s Child years to the hip hop, dance, Latin and now country of her solo career. More than genre-defying, Beyoncé’s studio albums since 2016’s “Lemonade” have been culturally relevant and historically conscious. This, her eighth studio album and the second in a planned trilogy that began with 2022’s “Renaissance,” fulfills that expectation.

When I listened to “Cowboy Carter” in full, I found a lot that I really enjoy: “Tyrant,” “II Most Wanted,” “Riiverdance,” “Sweet Honey Buckin’” are my kind of carryin’ on! There’s more than enough to get me to the concert. I even  bought a hat .

In the weeks since its release, my appreciation for “Cowboy Carter” has only grown — and not because I love every track. (Only “B’Day” holds that distinction, for me.)

I love “Cowboy Carter” instead for Beyoncé ’s distance traveled. In her climb to the highest echelon of the entertainment industry, she’s increasingly used her platform to highlight other artists. This album honors the Black artists who were scraped and bruised trying to scale the walls around country music and it lifts the young Black country artists who are seeking a foothold.

As Beyoncé sings to four young Black women artists in “Blackbiird,” “you were only waiting for this moment to arise.” And every time I hear it, it’s a better feeling than a beat I can bob my head to.

Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour AMC Entertainment

After Covid shut down AMC and the rest of the globe’s multiplexes and the actors strike ratcheted down the box office, you could say that the No. 1 exhibitor was taking its fate into its own hands with Taylor Swift: The Era’s Tour . However, it has Scott Swift, Taylor Swift’s father, to thank. He reportedly made the call to AMC CEO Adam Aron to sidestep studios and gain more cash in taking his daughter’s movie from her $1 billion-plus-selling, sold-out concert tour directly to AMC. Why have a studio walk away with a ton of cash and spend tens of millions in marketing when Swift with a then-near-400 million social media followers is the best form of advertisement? She tweeted a few times to promote the movie, and showed up at her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs games to drum up her $15M Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film as a must-see. The movie also received a SAG-AFTRA waiver, which allowed the pop star to show up at her own Los Angeles world premiere and do publicity. The result: $100M in global advance ticket sales. AMC, to avoid antitrust issues, hired Gotham-based distributor Variance Films to book cinemas across the nation, and Trafalgar to handle the overseas release. Much to the chagrin of the studios, who had their thing to say about Aron’s entry into the distribution business, they all started moving their movies away (i.e., Universal’s The Exorcist reboot, Lionsgate’s Ordinary Angels ) from Eras Tour and its arrival on the calendar October 13. Swift cleverly tailored her marketing to fans, releasing the movie on a date that reps her lucky number, with tickets priced at $13.13 for children and seniors. Initially she wasn’t going to preview the movie, looking to open hard on 10/13. At the last minute, during the week of release, Swift changed her mind and opted for last-minute Thursday previews (they only yielded $2.8M).
