What Is Bolsover Cruise Club?

Bolsover Cruise Club was founded as a travel agency and an estate agency in the 1960s by A. L. Wilson, the grandfather of the company's current directors, Michael Wilson and Julie Straw. It split into two, becoming Bolsover Travel and Wilson & Co. estate agents. Realising the potential of cruises, Bolsover Travel started specialising in the sector in the 1980s, becoming the UK's number one independent agent for P&O Cruises in 1987, a title it has held ever since.

Expansion began in the late 1990s and a rebrand took place in 2001, when Bolsover Travel officially became Bolsover Cruise Club.

Today, Bolsover Cruise Club works with more than 30 operators across ocean, river, luxury and expedition cruising, from APT to Viking -- and everything in between. It serves around 70,000 customers a year both over the phone and in person at its Barlborough Cruise Bureau in Derbyshire.

Most staff have been at the company for more than 10 years, and are experts in their field, whether that be river, luxury, ocean or expedition. According to in-house research, the top two reasons that customers come back to Bolsover again and again is they like talking to an "experienced cruise expert" and they get "support from the same person throughout".

I was very impressed with Bolsover for obtaining me a solo cabin.

I was very impressed with Bolsover for their email about a single cabin coming up withQV for South America in January 2025. I had given up of going as I knew that the wait list was very long. People on this cruise reluctantly paid for a double cabin on deck I but asked to be put on the waitlist for a solo cabin should one become back on the market.

Straight forward cruise, no problem

Transferring cruise whilst on board

Easily booked cruise whilst on Ventura 30.3.24-6.4.24 which was transferred to Bolsover Cruise Club. Jodie contacted me a few days after our return and professionally checked off the necessary formalities. Only took a few minutes. Most efficient as usual. Bolsover Cruise Club is our preferred cruise specialists.

South America Cruise & Stay

Nice to see someone face to face to book a holiday. Our requirements were understood, Everything was made clear, checked and confirmed. Dates and cruise options were given, then extras that are needed were explained thoroughly that we could resolve and send to get Bolsover to see if they can better what we could fit in our extra time and requirement. All documented and confirmed. Booking details received by post. Really good service all completed within 3 hours

Brilliant experience...

This was our first visit to Bolsover Cruise Club but they had been strongly recommended to us by friends and after our visit, we could see why. We were looked after by Kleo who was totally brilliant from start to finish, very knowledgeable, very kind and helpful, listened to what we wanted and helped us book the cruise that we wanted. Kleo is a credit to Bolsover Cruise Club. As relatively new to cruising this was of great help to my wife and I and for any future cruises, our first call will be to Kleo at Bolsover Cruise Club.

Arranging cruises can be stressful, but not with Bolsover

We have always had a good experience when arranging cruises with Bolsover regardless of the cruise line. From the initial call through booking and travel they have been excellent.

First class service

We have cruised indirectly through friends with Bolsover Cruise Club which all went really well, but this was our first time booking directly ourselves. Our travel expert Jodie was really helpful, ensuring she understood what we wanted and giving suggestions and advice. I was worried it would be a call centre type experience, with different people picking it up, so it was a relief to find that another travel expert - Nathan - had been briefed on our requirements. They were both really helpful, the whole process of booking our cruise and stay holiday has been seamless and stress free so far! Highly recommend.

The entire holiday was a great success

The entire holiday was a great success. It was three back to back cruises and our consultant managed to get the same cabin for all three. The value for money enabled us to holiday in Australia and New Zealand which was an opportunity that we thought beyond us. It was a wonderful experience made possible by Bolsover Cruise Club, our thanks to all concerned.

Good booking experience…

A good holiday starts with a smooth and successful booking process with clear and accurate advice. My cruise expert was able to see me at the cruise centre within a short time of my phone call to book an appointment. She spent time helping me choose the right cabin for me and made me feel at ease in respect of the queries I had about the cruise. The Bolsover sales consultant I dealt with when booking a cruise for 14 people was excellent. The process was quite complicated but the booking was completed extremely efficiently. Bespoke cruise arrangements from Bolsover

Bolsover Cruise Club put a bespoke package together for me, including flights, taxi and overnight hotel, for a 10 day cruise from Athens. Everything worked perfectly with excellent taxi service and a fabulous hotel. I compared prices by booking it all independently and there was no benefit to doing it myself and far less hassle using Bolsover. Thoroughly recommend using Bolsover's bespoke service.

Very efficient and thorough at a great price!

This was the second time we'd used the services of Bolsover Cruise Club. On both occasions they were efficient, thorough, friendly whilst being professional. The information received was both timely and very helpful. Their quotes included all transfers and good hotels. When the flight information arrived, they were excellent - great airlines flying at sensible times. Their supplier for one transfer cancelled at the last minute so we organised a hotel car as suggested by Bolsover. We settled the cost and sent them a copy of the receipt. Within 24hrs we had the refund back into our bank account! You may think this excellent service comes at a price - however, we obtained other quotations and none offered the same at such a reasonable price. We will definitely use Bolsover again and can thoroughly recommend them to you.

Phoned to make a booking. I was number 2 in the queue and I didn't have to wait long. Francesca was very efficient and helped us get the location we wanted. She also took time to find photos of the actual cabin, gave us the website and we looked at the photos with her. We have booked many cruises with Bolsover because of their great service. When we have booked on board we always have it transferred to Bolsover.
