An amazing experience! Snorkeling near sea turtles, seeing them sleep and swim, and swimming among fishes was a fantastic experience. DO: Bring extra snacks or food (even though they have some snacks on board), Bring a waterproof lanyard for your Iphone for underwater pictures, Pack towels, and Bring a rash guard (just in case it's cold). Do NOT bring extra life vests for adults (kids yes) nor snorkeling gear. The tour provides them. The trip started with Captain Robin, Reyes, and Ichigo (misspelled) greeting us with big smiles. They soon took us to a sandbar (about 3 feet high). On the way there, we saw a turtle float to the surface for a breath of air. A brief preview of our future fun. Once at the sandbar, we enjoyed paddle boarding and wading in the water. Afterwards, our snorkeling adventure began. So much fun! Once beyond the sandbar, you will see some coral and then a larger drop full of ocean life, fishes small and large (about two hand sizes). Then the magnificent turtles. Through our trip, our three hosts shared their love for the ocean and sea animals. They are very friendly and made the trip comfortable, exciting, and fun! If you ever wanted to swim with sea turtles and see ocean life with your own eyes just an arms length away, then you need to take this trip! Go check them out!

Sending everyone that reads this a fair warning: DO NOT BOOK THE PRIVATE BOATS. it's not worth the extra $$$. Just join the group charter because that's what you'll be limited to, as for activity wise. I paid for the pontoon which was around $1350 for 6 people. We read the details and were under the impression that we would be able to cruise around the sandbar to various snorkeling location but that's not the case. We were going to book the group snorkeling sandbar tour which is only $140 per person to hang around a very limited area. In my video you'll see how small the sandbar area is, captain Bruce's real estate of the sandbar is extremely limited. The entire video is short n simple. I also circle n highlighted the ONLY area that you're allow to snorkel at, its about 20ft wide n barely any fishes. The 1 star given is for our designated captain who drove the boat. He was very informative, giving us some history of the island because there wasn't much to do on our boat.

My wife booked Kaneohe Sandbar tour with Captain Bruce. We got picked up by our shuttle driver Kaplan at 8am at a pick up point only 5 min walk from our hotel. We got to the bay a little before 9am. Captain Robin with crew Casey and Yuka were wonderful throughout the whole tour. It was mostly cloudy and cool and had a light sprinkle as we headed back to dock. They provided light snacks and refreshments. Would highly recommend and will be back for future trips.

Last minute booking for my kids 7 and 9 years old, husband and myself. They have free pick up options so we decided to go with that. The pick up is in a shuttle that makes multiple stops to pick up other guests. After about 4 more stops we were on our way. Our driver was a sweet Chinese man who was very informative and points out places to eat. Once we got there the captain and his two partners were awesome. We went to the sandbar and played in the water and paddle boarded. Great time to take gorgeous photos, then you snorkel around the nearby reef for about an hour. Vest and snorkel provided for adults and children. Kids had a blast seeing all the fish in their natural domain. We even had a turtle swim right under us. The staff are really good about pointing things out and engaging the kiddos. Highly recommend

We absolutely loved the experience we had spending time at the sandbar and thank the crew on the Captain Bruce boat for making the day so outstanding, especially Captain Hosanna. Booking, even last minute, was super easy, check in was simple and quick and the boat was comfortable, loaded with snacks and drinks and the crew were helpful, funny and made us feel very at ease. We did not take the bus but rather chose to drive and see other things along the way. Heading to the sandbar, we stopped to look at some turtles but the trip was quick and we were in the water immediately. There is a certain area that you must stay but there is plenty of room for everyone for sure. Snorkelers wore life vests and went to a deeper area with plenty of assistance and lots of fish and turtles to see. Surprisingly, our favorite part was just floating around the sandbar, swimming, chatting and relaxing. It was incredibly calm, quiet and peaceful. On the day we went, there was literally no one else insight. Others seemed to really enjoy the paddle boards and taking pictures and Hosanna and crew were great at getting everyone to have fun and laugh. It was a great experience and we look forward to our next trip to Oahu to go out again!

A high five to our Captains V and Karen! These ladies ran the show, and provided snack and refreshments. While it was well organized, the spirit was relaxed and playful. I would easily come back and have a do-over.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. The captain and crew were friendly, engaging, and all-around amazing. Relaxing at the sandbar was a treat, and we were able to see and swim alongside a variety of fish while snorkeling around the reef. I'd recommend this tour to anyone.

We went on the tour after my cousin recommended it and omg hands down it was the best time ever! We've been to Oahu a couple times and never went on a boat tour but this was the best activity we've ever done here! The staff was so helpful, funny, and energetic. They guide you the entire time. We saw a bunch of fish and 3 sea turtles! After snorkeling, you're able to just chill or go on paddle boards. There are plenty of snacks and drinks (water, soda, coffee, and tea) that they provide on the boat. But you can take your own canned alcohol beverages. I also recommend you take a light lunch like spam musubis! We are definitely doing this tour every time we go to Oahu! Totally worth it!! Our entire family said this was the highlight of our trip!

what a pleasure to join the captain Bruce sandbar tour, we were picked up by Jimmy our bus driver, he was very informative and funny, then our crew lead by captain Robbin and 2 other crew member that are very attentive, helpful and friendly, capt Robbin assisted my wife who does not know how to swim with the snorkeling part, we did SUP, the crew was very helpful they took our pictures as well as other tour members, they have snacks and drinks included and spam musubi which the kids really liked, the snorkeling part was the highlight, was saw multiple species of fish and a huge turtle , the best bar none, highly recommended, you gotta try Captain Bruce's Kaneohe Sandbar Tour !!! 6

Our trip to the Kaneohe Sand Bar was the highlight of my son's birthday. The beauty is unparalleled. We saw so many sea turtles during our short boat ride. When we anchored, we had about an hour to engage in water play. Captain Bruce has a barge full of water toys to choose from - floats, paddle boards, footballs, etc. After that, our guides handed us our snorkeling gear, and we went out to the reef. We saw so many fish and swam with a sea turtle. My family had so much fun snorkeling and paddle boarding. Spam musubi, chips, water, juice, coffee, and tea were included, and they allowed us to put our adult beverages in their cooler. The guides were outstanding and always put our safety first. A couple of us were stung by jellyfish, which are prevalent in the bay, but the reward was worth the risk. Our driver to the marina, Ken, was one of the most memorable people I've ever met. My family and I (2 adults, 2 children) had a great time exploring the sandbar and reef area with our captain/tour guide. We learned a lot about the history of the sandbar as well as got to enjoy the water and sandbar ar ... ea. We got lucky with the weather since it rained earlier in the day. The provided snacks and musubis were excellent. We were sad when it ended, but brought back many memories.

We rented a private speedboat. First, my apologies for most likely misspelling your name, Kaikoa or Keoke? Again, my apologies but me, my hubby and his mom had the best experience and truly enjoyed the day just talking w ... ith you about Hawaii and seeing all the wonderful wildlife when snorkeling. We also wanted to say thank you for being so kind and hospitable and putting up with our 20 questions about Hawaii life and thank you so much for sharing! Incredible Time

Many moons ago I visited the sandbar and knew I needed to come back again. It took me 10 years but finally made it!! I ponied up the cheddar for the private speed boat and for me it was perfect. Captain K was so atte ... ntive to my family. (My daughter tripped in the parking lot within 20 seconds of meeting him). He bandaged her up. Taught us about the geography of the bay. Went out of his way to find us some turtles at the end. My 5 year old had the time of her life with all the fish! Snorkeling was amazing. All the toys already out on the sandbar were amazing. 10 out of 10. Will do again next time in Oahu.

Life jackets are available but they are not required to be worn while at the sandbar.

Do I need to be able to swim to participate?

The Kaneohe sandbar has a shallow depth of 2-4 feet, and during high tide, certain areas on the sandbar may be a little deeper. However, to fully enjoy your snorkeling experience, we suggest that you have basic swimming skills.

I have a child that will bring our group to 7, will this take us over the max of 6 passengers?

Any person counts as 1 passenger, regardless of age or size. The boat is licensed to accommodate up to 6 people.

How far in advance should I book this activity?

We recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance. If you have very specific schedule requirements and are not flexible, please book sooner. Last minute availability is often possible, but limited.

What if I don't like the weather on the day of the activity?

Please review the cancellation policy on this page for specific cancellation details and fees. If the captain cancels for any reason, including inclement weather, you will be provided a full refund.

What is the lunch menu?

About kaneohe sandbar.

A local favorite, the Kaneohe sandbar is one of Oahu’s best-kept secrets. Although only accessible at low tide, this three-acre, mile-long white sandy island is considered the largest saltwater sandbar on Earth and is situated in Kaneohe Bay. The sandbar is a thalassophile’s paradise because it is the only inlet in Hawai’i surrounded by a barrier reef. An abundance of coral reefs protects the area from waves, providing an enjoyable and unique experience on the sea.

Cruise the Kaneohe Bay Sandbar for two to three hours on a tour led by Captain Bruce. We’ll take you to sea in a spacious, well-equipped power catamaran from the Heeia Kea Boat Harbor. Granola bars and chips are also provided as snacks during the tour, but you’re welcome to bring your own food and beverages to the sandbar and enjoy! Alcoholic beverages are also allowed, but only in cans. A cooler is available on board.

Aside from swimming with Oahu’s underwater creatures and exploring a barrier reef bursting with marine life, guests on Captain Bruce’s private boat will also have the opportunity to try stand-up paddle boarding through the calm bay waters and enjoy some time in the sun on the white-sanded sandbar, which can only be reached at low tide.

Take advantage of the sandbar’s shallow waters, which make for great photo opportunities against the gorgeous backdrop of the Koolau Mountains. The Koolau is not your ordinary mountain range, but the eroded remnants of a gigantic shield volcano. Numerous cinder cones have been formed along the Koolau over the last hundred thousand years because of several eruptions. Today, you can enjoy its rugged and dramatic appearance from afar.

Get up close and personal with Hawaiian green sea turtles, locally known as honu, by taking a snorkeling tour of the turtle reef. Protected by both state and federal law, these magnificent creatures must always be viewed from a safe distance. Oahu’s Kaneohe Bay sandbar is an excellent snorkeling spot because of the surrounding reefs.

Snorkelers may look forward to pristine waters rich with aquatic life and colorful coral. There are about 40 different kinds of coral to see, such as the likes of rice coral and finger coral, among others. Did the snorkeling and sandbar tour as part of a week long wedding celebration-we had so much fun!! The sandbar was fun with paddle boards and floaties provided and the snorkeling was fantastic with several turtle sightings. On the boat ride back we were lucky enough to see some manta rays out in the water which the crew was kind enough to stop for so we could watch them for some time. Highlight of our trip! And we did 3 snorkeling/boating tours while here. This is in the most beautiful area on Oahu, Kenoehe Bay. The bay is enclosed by a reef so there is essentially no waves on the water. You take a pontoon boat for a short distance out to the sandbar Island. We went in the winter, and lucky for us we had beautiful weather on this day of the trip. I saw 6-7 Turtles and lots of reef fish. I chose this trip originally because it is a 3-hour trip and the others are shorter that I saw online. The crew is great, and in fact they treat you more like family rather than a paid tour operator. There were snacks and and informative talk given on the coral reef ecosystem. The marina was only about 30 minutes from Waikiki. You can bring adult drinks and put them in the community cooler, plus they have soda and sacks free of charge. You can snorkel, paddle around on a paddle board, or float in a floaty (or all 3). It was completely breathtakingly beautiful, a day in paradise. Recommend 100%. If you only do one thing like this, this should probably be the one.

Everything from the very beginning was super top notch. From the friendly staff to the actual activities, not only did we feel safe with two toddlers and an infant but they enjoyed being in the water so much! No one was left out, and everyone shared on this unique experience. Kevin and Joe, gave us clear and easy instructions and even though we are not great swimmers we still got to see the underwater world. There is - paddle board, safety net floaters and boards where the kids can see underwater. Ernie Els, Trevor Immelman Named Assistant Captains for International Presidents Cup Team

The International side is looking for a second win in 30 years of the competition.

Former International Presidents Cup captains Ernie Els and Trevor Immelman were named to assistants roles on Monday by captain Mike Weir for the 2024 competition at Royal Montreal.

Weir also chose Geoff Ogilvy and Camilo Villegas to assist him as the International squad attempts to win for just the second time in the biennial competition that the United States has dominated since its inception in 1994.

“The four of them each have their own special history with this event and today’s announcement is a mere formality, as we have been working closely together through the years to ensure the International Team continues its momentum from 2019 and 2022,” Weir said. “The culture and close-knit nature tied to this team is foundational to everything we will do heading into Montreal, and I can’t wait work alongside them to deliver a great week of golf for our players.”

Els played in eight Presidents Cups and holds the record for victories by an International player with 20. He captained the International side that lost to the U.S. at Royal Melbourne and playing captain Tiger Woods in 2019.

Immelman, the 2008 Masters winner who now is an analyst for CBS, was the losing captain two years ago at Quail Hollow. He also served as an assistant to Els.

Ogilvy played on three Presidents Cup teams and has been an assistant three times as well. Villegas was an assistant two years ago and played in the 2009 Presidents Cup.

The only International victory occurred in 1998 at Royal Melbourne. The sides tied in 2003 in South Africa. The United States has subsequently won nine consecutive Presidents Cups.

[ Liability Waiver ] All customers over the age of 18 are required to submit a liability form at the link below. [ Proof of Vaccination / Proof of Negative COVID-19 ] In response to the City and County of Honolulu’s Emergency Order No. 2021-11, over the age of 12 who participates on the tour after September 13th, 2021 must submit “Proof of Vaccination (approved by the Hawaii Department of Health ) ” or “Proof of Negative COVID-19 Test ( taken within 48 hours of the departure time of the tour/the name on the test has to match on your ID). -Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. -Smoking is prohibited on the boat -Drinking in the United States begins at the age of 21.
