Chris Distefano Releases Self-Produced Netflix Comedy Special SPESHY WESHY

The new special is now streaming on Netflix.

Brooklyn born comedian and podcast host Chris Distefano released his new self-produced comedy special Speshy Weshy with Netflix today.

Along with this new special Chris was recently announced as part of Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival, with his own headlining set on Thursday May 5th at the Peppermint Club, as well being selected for the Amy Schumer and Friends set on May 6th at the Hollywood Palladium.

Along with Distefano, Schumer has hand selected some the top comedians in the industry including Lil Rel Howery, Christina P, Janelle James, Ron Funches, Rachel Feinstein and Jaye McBride to be part of her Amy Schumer & Friends. Many may know Chris Distefano from his breakout role on MTV's GUY CODE and spinoff GIRL CODE or any of the other TV roles he's had over the years.

While others may know Chris from the recent success of his two hit podcasts Chrissy Chaos which he hosts alone as well as his Hey Babe with famed IMPRACTICAL JOKERS Sal Vulcano, both of which were launched during the pandemic and have already risen to top of the charts on streaming platforms as well as amassed a diehard fanbase on Patreon.

Simultaneously since the start of the pandemic Distefano has seen a massive upswing in his live shows as he has been touring across the country headlining sold out shows at the most prestigious comedy clubs and theaters. Just as Chris has done over the last two years with his podcast he chose to bet on himself and his fans by producing this comedy special on his own dime, knowing that he has a dedicated and loyal fanbase that will support him upon its release.

Chris has a fearless, yet endearing stage presence, and a natural ability to connect with audiences, no better is that seen than in the massive success he has had in recent years establishing himself as a household name not just in stand-up comedy but in entertainment as a whole.

When asked about his upcoming special with Netflix, Chris said, "I am so excited to have my own comedy special on Netflix that I self-produced. I'm happy to now be considered a pro at making things myself, since I've long been a pro at touching myself."

Chris Distefano is a born and raised New Yorker and his observational comedic style that features him poking fun of himself and those around him is evident of that. Growing up in Brooklyn Chris was a star athlete going on to play D3 basketball in college. After college Distefano got his doctorate in physical therapy.

However, soon after starting that career he had the realization that he needed to try his hand at his lifelong love, comedy. Soon Chris was burning the candle at both ends spending his days in the office with his patients and nights grinding away in the competitive New York comedy scene. After some time in the New York comedy scene Chris had his first break when he was asked to replace a comedy for one episode on MTV's Guy Code.

After some encouragement from his father, Chris chose to step away from his career as a pediatric physical therapist and focus on comedy full time. However, this life change wasn't all positive as he was met with disapproval from his bosses, who told him he would never make it as a comedian and that his job wouldn't be waiting for him once he realized that. As life goes, weeks later Distefano was called back to become a full time member of GUY CODE and as they say the rest is history.

Since GUY CODE Chris has gone on to star in IFC's Benders, co-host the Netflix gameshow Ultimate Beastmaster, and even had his own CBS sitcom. In 2019 Chris released his Comedy Central special 38 Waist which resulted in his appearance on late night shows like THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

A big sports fan, Chris has been fortunate to host episodes of shows including MLB's Off The Bat and MSG's The Brackets. Since recently selling out the world-famous Beacon Theater in New York City, Chris continues to travel the country on a sold out comedy tour, entertaining thousands by poking fun at the world-and himself-with his uniquely warm energy. Comedian Chris Distefano has announced his “Right Intention, Wrong Move” tour for fall 2022, and coming on the heels of his latest Netflix special Speshy Weshy , it will be the right decision to grab tickets early.

What Is Chris Distefano’s Next Tour?

The 18-city “Right Intention, Wrong Move” tour kicks off in Tarrytown, New York on September 18th. He jets to the Midwest for shows in Madison, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis in early October, then after a few weeks’ break, relaunches in Baltimore on October 27th. He closes out the month with two sets at The Fillmore Philadelphia on October 28th and a stop in Montclair, New Jersey on October 29th.

Distefano will deliver a total of four sets in Toronto between November 17th-18th, then hits Buffalo, New York on November 19th. In December, he’ll tour the south in Charlotte, Asheville, and Charleston.

The former MTV personality opens 2023 at New Orleans’ Civic Theatre on January 12th. The tour’s final dates follow on January 13th in Dallas and January 14th in Houston.

Presented by AM Productions Chris Distefano is one of today's biggest and most beloved names in comedy. Chris quickly rose to success after being named the funniest person on MTV for his show-stopping performances on the Guy Code/Girl Code series. Chris Stapleton Announces First-Ever Australian Tour Dates

American country music superstar Chris Stapleton will tour Australia and New Zealand for the first time in February and March 2025, bringing his All-American Roadshow Goes Down Under to arenas in both countries. Stapleton will be accompanied by special guest Marcus King .

The tour begins at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday, 25 February, followed by the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Friday, 28 February, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday, 4 March, and wraps up at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Friday, 7 March.

The tour arrives in support of Stapleton’s latest album, Higher , released in November. Higher  was produced by  Dave Cobb , Morgane Stapleton , and Chris Stapleton and was released via  Mercury Nashville . Higher “showcases his supernatural voice and musical versatility with songs that span genres and defy easy categorisation.” 

As well as his own music, Stapleton has been busy collaborating with artists such as Justin Timberlake ( Say Something ), Adele , P!nk , Snoop Dogg , Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Metallica , and featured on  Rage Against The Machine  and  Audioslave  guitarist  Tom Morello ’s album,  The Atlas Underground Fire  (on  The War Inside ). Last year, he duetted with Carly Pearce  on her song,  We Don’t Fight Anymore .

Chris Stapleton Announces Debut Australian Tour For 2025

American singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton is gearing up for his debut Australian tour in February and March 2025. The tour is named ‘All-American Roadshow Goes Down Under’ with a special guest Marcus King joining him on stage.

The tour will begin on February 25th at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, followed by Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on February 28th, and conclude at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on March 4th.

The tour follows Chris Stapleton’s latest album, Higher , which dropped in November. Produced by Stapleton himself along with Dave Cobb and Morgane Stapleton, “Higher” showcases Stapleton’s incredible voice and musical range with songs that span various genres.

Aside from his solo work, Chris Stapleton has been busy collaborating with top artists like Justin Timberlake, Adele, and Taylor Swift. He’s also featured on projects with Snoop Dogg and Metallica, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

Chris Stapleton announces first Australian tour

Chris Stapleton is one of the most beloved artists on the planet today, selling out arenas across the US and Europe, building his loyal fanbase that spans from grandkids to grandparents.

Stapleton's mesmerising soul-fused hoarse vocal harks back to blues and roots music of the deep south, with the Grammy winning artist seemingly overcoming his fear of flying to trek to Australian and New Zealand for his first tour.

The Kentucky-born artist is an 10-time Grammy, 15-time CMA and 10-time ACM Award-winner and one of the United States' most respected and beloved musicians.

On Wednesday night October 18, 2023, Chris Distefano brought his Right Intention, Wrong Move Tour to The Admiral in Omaha, Nebraska, and he was absolutely hilarious! Sergio Chicon, a New York based comedian and host of the DBS podcast, also known as The Chicon Show, opened the show.  Chicon has been featured on MTV, Comedy Central, BET On Blast and LIVE AT Gotham on AXS TV. He has performed in theaters and comedy clubs all around the country, and this guy was really funny.  The perfect person to open the show! Up next was Chris Distefano, and the crowd went crazy! Distefano, who began his career in entertainment on MTV, currently has two podcasts called, “Hey Babe!,” and “Chrissy Chaos,” which are both hilarious as well. His comedy show was an absolute riot from start to finish. As a long-time fan, I had high expectations, and he exceeded them all. From the moment he stepped onto the stage, the audience was in stitches, and the laughter didn’t stop until the very end. One of the standout qualities of Chris Distefano’s comedy is his relatability. He has a knack for taking everyday experiences and turning them into side-splitting anecdotes. Chris Stapleton  just announced that his All-American Road Show tour is heading to Australia and New Zealand next year.

The run is already slated for a slew of American dates this year with a stacked group of openers, including Turnpike Troubadours, Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow, Elle King, Marcus King, Nikki Lane, Willie Nelson and Family, Grace Potter, Allen Stone, Marty Stuart, and more.

Joining Stapleton down under is the very talented Marcus King, and they’ll be making stops in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland at the end of February and beginning of March in 2025.

Stapleton released his incredible Higher album last year, so I’m sure fans will be looking forward to hearing those songs live in person, and potentially even some new stuff by the time next year rolls around.

Chris Stapleton will tour Australia and New Zealand for the very first time in 2025.

The “Chris Stapleton’s All-American Roadshow Goes Down Under” will see the 10 times Grammy winner perform in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand in February and March 2025.

Stapleton released his debut album ‘Traveller’ in 2015. His version of ‘Tenneessee Whisley’, originally recorded by David Allan Coe in 1981, although never officially a single, soon became the key track off the album. On 4 November, 2015, Stapleton performed the track with Justin Timberlake at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. That performance alone sent it to number one of the USA Hot Country Songs just two days later. ‘Traveller’ became a US number one album.

Chris has had five albums. ‘Traveller’ (2015, no 1), ‘From A Room Vol 1’ (2017, no 2), ‘From A Room Vol 2’ (2017, no 2), ‘Starting Over’ (2020, no 3) and ‘Higher’ (2023, no 3).

In 2019 he had a no 9 hit with Justin Timberlake on ‘Say Something’.

In 2021 ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ was a no 22 hit with Taylor Swift.

He also recorded ‘Blow’ with Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars for Ed’s ‘No. 6 Collaborations’ in 2019.

Chris Stapleton Announces Australia and New Zealand Tour

The country singer will be bringing his headline ‘all-american roadshow tour’ down under.

Chris Stapleton is set to make his debut tour in Australia and New Zealand.

The country singer will be bringing his headline ‘All-American Roadshow Tour’ Down Under next year.

His Australian tour kicks off on Tuesday, February 25th at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, followed by Brisbane Entertainment Centre on February 28th, and Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney on March 4th. He will then head to New Zealand, performing at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Friday, March 7th.

Grammy-nominated blues rocker, Marcus King, will be joining him as a special guest for all dates.

A Live Nation pre-sale begins on Thursday, April 11th at 11 am, running until Friday, April 12th at 10 am. General public tickets will go on sale on Friday, April 12th at 11 am. 

Kentucky-born Stapleton is a multi Grammy, CMA, and ACM award-winner. He recently won two awards at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards: Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for his hit, “White Horse.”

In recent years, Stapleton has collaborated with Adele, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, P!nk, Sheryl Crow, Santana, and more.

Stapleton is bringing his talents to our shores following the release of his acclaimed fifth studio album, Higher , which features the hit single “White Horse”. Other fan favourite tracks include “You Should Probably Leave”, “Starting Over”, and a popular cover of “Tennessee Whiskey”.
