Most amazing concert I've been to in a while. The energy from clipping and the crowd was electric. It's the next morning, and I'm still hyped up from the show.

Amazing! Loved every second. Daveed was just hanging out before the show and was super friendly. I highly recommend. Don't go to the show just because you like Hamilton though, take the time to listen to their amazing music.

Honestly so good......... highly recommend. Don't go if you don't know a bunch of their songs though.... it kills the vibe and Daveed seems disappointed. If you're not a legit fan of clipping. and just a fan of Daveed (from Hamilton or otherwise) prepare yourself, listen to all their albums. Love it. Learn it. You will enjoy it more and it will be a better performance because the guys feed off the crowd's energy. I knew only a few songs because I wasn't familiar with them before I bought the tickets and even though I was of course blown away by their talent, I definitely regret not having known the words to sing along. By the time I see clipping. again (in San Francisco this Feb) I will know all the words!!

A New Split Single Featuring Clipping’s “Tipsy” b/w Cooling Prongs “Midnight” Is Out Today

Today, Tuesday, February 20th, marks the release of a split single featuring Clipping ’s “Tipsy” and Cooling Prongs’ “Midnight,” available worldwide from Sub Pop.   Clipping’s “Tipsy” was previously only available as part of the 2020  Save Stereogum , an exclusive ‘00s Covers Comp and crowdfunding campaign for the site’s supporters. Clipping was one of 40 artists asked to record never-before-heard covers of songs from 2000-2009. Clipping says, “J-Kwon’s ‘Tipsy’ is one of the greatest party rap songs of all time. We could never make a beat as hard as the original, so we took our version in another direction — something like if Skinny Puppy had somehow remixed it in the late 1980s.”   “Midnight” by Cooling Prongs (AKA Christopher Fleeger, who collaborated with Clipping on  Double Live ) is a musique concrète tribute to Ice-T’s classic track of the same name. Fleeger’s process involved recording for many weeks, every night between midnight and 6am, with microphones mounted to the outside of his van, at all the locations mentioned in the lyrics to the original song. Hundreds of hours of audio were edited and arranged to create a field-recording companion to the journey the rapper describes through South Central Los Angeles, from the AMPM location on Vermont, through all of the intersections he names, finally ending at Ice-T’s childhood home, just off Crenshaw.   Clipping’s “Tipsy” and Cooling Prongs’ “Midnight” split single is available now worldwide digitally from  Sub Pop . Fans in North America can purchase the 7” single, which is limited to 2,000 copies, from  megamart.subpop.com ,  select independent retail stores , and Clipping’s  Bandcamp  page. In the UK and Europe, the 7” is available to preorder now through select  UK/EU Independent retailers  and Sub Pop’s new  Mega Mart 2  (estimated to ship in mid-March).   Clipping has also scheduled a series of UK & European tour dates for 2024, which begin Thursday, April 18th in Tilburg, NL with an appearance at the Roadburn Festival, and run through Thursday, April 25th in Leeds, UK at Project House.   Fri. Clipping. announce tour dates, plus “Story 2” video

Los Angeles experimental rap trio clipping. has lined up more tour dates this late summer and fall in support of their intense and awesome new album, CLPPNG . For three dates on the East Coast, they’ll be performing with their Sub Pop labelmates Shabazz Palaces (whose Lese Majesty is our current Album of the Week), plus they’ve got European and U.S. dates happening around those.

Additionally, they’ve shared a new video for “Story 2,” which premiered this morning via Fact . It’s not as graphic as their incredible clip for “ Body and Blood ,” but it’s still pretty intense, as you might imagine. Check out the video below, along with updated clipping tour dates.

Newbury Park school band seeks public's help finding or replacing stolen instruments

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Students at a Newbury Park high school are asking the public for help after thieves stole nearly $25,000 worth of instruments after a concert this weekend.

The student musicians with Newbury Park Adventist Academy had just performed in Chula Vista Saturday night as part of a weekend music tour when someone broke into their rental truck at the La Quinta Inn.

School officials say between $20,000 to $25,000 worth of instruments were stolen.

"We had one set of bells that is particularly pricey to replace and a euphonium worth probably about $6,000," the school's principal Joel Albritton said.

Chula Vista police are investigating the theft.

Despite the bad outcome, Albritton hopes that students use this as a life lesson.

"We are most interested in making sure students understand that bad things are going to happen in their lives. The question is, how are they going to respond?"

His students have responded by reaching out to the community for help.

According to the school band's Instagram , students are seeking help finding instruments for their next performance but welcome other donations too.
