Dates kick off Jan 20th in Lafayette, LA

As 2x CMA Award and 2x CMT Award winner Cody Johnson played his last concert of 2022 in Las Vegas over the weekend with a sold out show at Michelob Ultra Arena, he looks forward to the holiday break and wrapping up his most successful career year to date. Johnson will begin a full 2023 calendar year of headline touring on January 20th with seven sold out dates currently in the books.

On December 2nd, Johnson released a new live album with his longtime touring band, Cody Johnson & The Rockin’ CJB Live . The music transports the listener to a virtual concert as album was recorded during back-to-back-to-back sold out shows this summer.

During 2022, the former rodeo star received first-ever honors with two CMT Music Awards, two CMA Music Awards, was named one of CMT Artists of the Year, and was the most nominated country artist at the American Music Awards. He increased his career music streams by one billion for the second consecutive year now boasting more than four billion career streams . Johnson was recently awarded with Pandora’s Billionaire plaque signifying more than one billion streams on the internet radio and streaming service. He’s toured across the US selling out more than 40 concerts this year and received additional RIAA certifications now totaling 14. Among the certifications is a 2x Platinum honor for his multi-week No. 1 hit “’Til You Can’t” which was also the most listened to country Song of The Year on iHeartRadio, most played song on Mediabase stations, named MusicRow’s Song of The Year, hit the best-of playlists on Spotify’s Hot Country Presents Best Country Songs of 2022 and Amazon’s Best Country Songs of 2022, and landed on Billboard’s Best Songs of 2022 list. “’Til You Can’t” is also Grammy nominated as Country Song of the Year.

Cody Johnson Adds 16 New Shows to ‘Leather Tour’ 

Country’s Cody Johnson has extended his upcoming “Leather Tour” with 16 new dates.

Originally, the “‘Til You Can’t” singer only announced 13 dates on the trek — kicking-off on January 19 and running through July 11 — which was set to make stops in California, Arkansas, Alabama, Ohio, Arizona, Kansas, Florida, and Tennessee. Now, multiple shows have been sprinkled in-between, including gigs at the DCU Center in Worcester, the Tacoma Dome, Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome, and the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Chris Janson, Justin Moore, and Dillon Carmichael will provide support.

Johnson will be touring in support of his forthcoming album Leather , due November 3. The LP includes the single “The Painter” and follows 2021’s Human: The Double Album . Fans can also look forward to a Carrie Underwood feature on the record.

While the 13 original shows are on sale to the general public, the additional dates will head on sale November 3.

Cody Johnson and the Rockin CJB: Live – Review

Imagine ALL the best ‘90s honky tonk country music, mixed with honest emotion, pouring out of one of the best albums of 2022? East Texan Cody “CoJo” Johnson and his band, the Rockin’ CJB delivers a stellar live experience with the album, aptly named, Cody Johnson and the Rockin’ CJB, released with Warner Music Nashville. 

From the moment the CoJo nation are asked on the album’s intro if they’re ready for real country music, their roar and the band’s response, the energy on this live album is hypnotic. 

Don’t worry if you haven’t yet been to a live show, or really listened to Johnson’s music outside of the US – you may have heard the 2022 double CMA Award-winning ‘‘Til You Can’t’ (Single and Video) on the radio or on your streaming device or seen his performance on the CMA Award show – this album is the next best thing.

Literally every intro and song is packed with the kind of energy that makes you talk about a gig all night long, making this a must-own album for the traditional country music fan. Think Garth Brooks and Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson partying with Luke Combs and Chris Janson. 

Okay, from an album with twenty-one enviable live performances (not including the intros) there are some stand out tracks. ‘Diamond in My Pocket’ is one beauty of a love song that Johnson just can’t wait to sing, if his raw shouts and extended vocals are anything to go by. Probably the first time I’ve clapped along to a live album as if I was actually in the audience. And then it’s followed by the stunning ‘God Bless The Boy (Cori’s Song)’ a patriarchal warning message of love and respect to his daughter’s future spouse: ‘She won’t let me help her tie her shoes/“naw Daddy I can do it myself”/when she don’t get her way she’ll cross her arms and hold her breath…goes from tiny tornado to sleeping on my chest/God bless the boy that melts the way I do/when she smiles at him the first time he’ll be done’.  I’m done.  Get me to a CoJo gig. 

‘Human’, from his 2021 double album, charts his course from his rodeo days and late night shows, mixed with awareness of mistakes, helps us to understand where Johnson’s coming from.  There’s a delicious kick-drum and steel guitar echo of a sentiment alongside these three and a half minutes of truth. 

Johnson isn’t just dive bar (and stadium) swagger, there’s a depth to his songs and a real connection with his fans; the CoJo Nation has been strong for the last fifteen years, and when you hear this album you’ll be craving a live show in the UK.  

Johnson’s inclusion of his fans’ (CoJo Nation) voices singing along to many of the tracks (especially ‘Wild as You’ and ‘Ride with Me’, and a five minute solo from the Rockin’ CJB (Jody Bartula: Fiddle and Guitar, Jake Mears: Lead Guitar, Joey Pruski: Bass Guitar, MIles Stone: Drums and Percussion and Harrison Yount: Steel Guitar) demonstrate the authenticity of this talented entertainer and former bull rider from Texas. 

When I’m researching a new-to-me country artist, like Cody Johnson is, I turn to social media – specifically, where can I hear some live performances?  Johnson’s YouTube channel – with almost half a million subscribers – tells me half of the story; here’s an industry-recognised country entertainer, hitting stages with the likes of Reba, Zac Brown Band and Luke Combs and putting his heart and soul onto the floorboards every night, for every person in the crowd. The other half of the story? A live album that makes me need to go see a live show in person.  

Cody Johnson and the Rockin’ CJB Live is the yardstick for all future live albums across every genre.   

US and Antipodean residents can see Cody Johnson on tour in 2023, but we’re looking forward to the UK reaction when he lands on our stages, hears the audience singing along to every word.

Cody Johnson announces ‘The Leather Tour.’ Get tickets today

CoJo will be back in the saddle next year.

36-year-old country star Cody Johnson just announced the first leg of his upcoming ‘The Leather Tour’ that will send him to venues all over North America from January through June 2024.

The 13-concert trek — which will likely expand soon — is named after his upcoming ninth studio album “Leather.”

“This round of songs… is the best..I have ever recorded,” the 36-year-old singer said in a statement. “Each album should outdo the last one.”

And while Johnson is bringing his very best to the stage, he’s not going it alone.

Along the way, he’ll be joined by special guests Justin Moore , Chris Janson and Dillon Carmichael .

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, Oct. 6, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Although not all acts have been announced yet, Johnson is set to take the stage along with Morgan Wallen ,  Jelly Roll  and  Parker McCollum .

We don’t know much about next year’s Country Fest at the Clays Park and Resort in North Lawrence, OH on June 12-15.

And after more than a decade of slugging it out in the real country trenches, he has worked his way up to headlining arenas, having built a dedicated grassroots following — the CoJo Nation — largely on the strength of his commitment to keeping it real.

Now the Leather Tour arrives in Arizona on Saturday, Jan. 27. Here's everything you need to know about Johnson’s concert at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, including where to park, the clear bag policy and Johnson's setlist.

Desert Diamond Arena is at 9400 W. Maryland Ave. in Glendale, Arizona, just east of Exit 6 on the 101 Loop North.

What can I expect at security?

All guests will be searched and have their belongings scanned. Desert Diamond Arena reserves the right to confiscate items that may cause danger or disruption, or are in breach of building policies, including prohibited items.

Guests are subject to a metal-detector screening, visual inspection and bag inspection conducted by Desert Diamond Arena security personnel. To increase the efficiency of the process:

Arrive early.

Travel light and minimize the number of personal items.

Be ready for inspection before reaching the security screening by removing all cellphones, keys, cameras and other personal items from your clothing.

Desert Diamond Arena reserves the right to subject guests to a secondary hand wand screening and/or visual inspection.

Any guest who declines to be searched may be denied entry.

No weapons are allowed at Desert Diamond Arena

Guns and other weapons are prohibited at Desert Diamond Arena. The arena does not provide lockers and will not check weapons at Guest Services.

Weapons include, but are not limited to, the following: firearms (pursuant to A.R.S § 4-229), explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, brass knuckles, sticks, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, pepper spray, tear gas, knives, etc.

Guests with the above-mentioned items will be asked to remove the item from the arena or dispose of it. Guests who refuse to comply will be ejected and may be subject to arrest.

Can I bring my pet to Desert Diamond Arena?

Pets of any kind are prohibited in Desert Diamond Arena. Trained service animals and service animals in training are welcome and must be under control of the handler.

Service animals will rest in the seating area of the guest with a disability and not in the aisle. A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of other guests or employees may be asked to escort the animal off the property.

What is prohibited at Desert Diamond Arena?

The following items are prohibited:

Any object that can be used to inflict bodily injury or disrupt the event, chemical dispensing devices, noise-making devices, two-way radios.

Any item that may be deemed potentially harmful.

Cardboard poster tubes.

Backpacks, purses, laptop bags, camera bags, seat cushions and fanny packs.

Outside food, beverage, liquid containers, alcohol, cans, bottles, flasks (hydroflasks, metal, etc.) or coolers. Guests are allowed to bring a factory sealed water bottle under 17 ounces.

Laptops, any type of personal computers and tablets.

Laser pointers, flashlights, handcuffs, fireworks.

Professional photography equipment, detachable/interchangeable lenses, audio/video recording devices, tripods, monopods (selfie sticks), tablets, laptops, computers, promotional materials.

Signs and posters must be under 2 feet by 3 feet, may not be attached to a pole or stick, and bear no message which may be construed as offensive. Messaging must be event specific. The use of flags or placards as a means of advertising is strictly prohibited.

Strollers, skateboards, skates, stickers, balloons, markers.

Pamphlets or product samples.

Drugs or illegal substances.

Cigarettes (including vapes and e-cigarettes). Desert Diamond Arena is a non-smoking facility.

Reentry is prohibited at all Desert Diamond Arena events.

Does Desert Diamond Arena take cash?

Desert Diamond Arena is a cashless environment venue. Cash is not accepted in the arena or for parking.

Where is Desert Diamond Arena lost and found?

Lost items may be claimed at the Guest Services Center across from Section 115 during an event. During non-event hours, items can be claimed at Gate 3 security or by calling 623-772-3475. Items will be retained for two weeks. After that, they may be donated to charity.

Desert Diamond Arena parking locations open one hour prior to the door time. Parking is available in lots G, J, L, Yellow, Garage, South VIP, East VIP or West VIP..

Parking costs $10-$100 depending on location.

Prepaid parking provides expedited entry and exit, close proximity to the arena and guaranteed parking until 30 minutes after the event start time.

Prepaid parking can be purchased through  Ticketmaster.com  or AXS.com up to one hour prior to the event start.

Guests with prepaid parking should follow the directions to the specific parking lot. Guests without prepaid parking can pay with credit cards only. Cash is not accepted.

Prepaid parking passes are for one regular 12-foot by 18-foot parking space. Oversize vehicles must pay for as many spaces as the vehicle will occupy.

Desert Diamond Arena does not permit overnight parking.

Inside Missy Elliott’s first headlining tour, with Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland

LOS ANGELES (AP) — At a 24,000-square-foot studio near downtown Los Angeles, Missy Elliott , Busta Rhymes and Ciara are preparing to film the video announcement for a tour no one saw coming.

This summer, the trio — along with legendary producer Timbaland — will hit the road for Elliott’s first headlining arena tour, appropriately titled “Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience.”

“Listen, I didn’t realize I never had my own tour,” says a smiling Elliott, holding her tiny Yorkie, named Fendi, dressed in Gucci. “The last real tour that I went on — like, consistent days — was with Beyoncé and Alicia (Keys).”

That was in 2004.

Call it long overdue, but the timing is ideal. Over the last few years, Elliott — the forward-seeking artist — has been recognized for her talents as a musician, producer, songwriter and beyond .

In 2019, she became the first female rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. In 2021, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2022, her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia, named a boulevard after her. Last year, she became the first female hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“Getting those accolades, I feel like I’ve finally made it,” Elliott says. “It feels amazing. I feel so blessed.”

“What we’re seeing now is kind of the rest of the world catching up,” says Mona Scott-Young, Elliott’s longtime manager and co-producer of the tour. “She’s always been ahead.”

In his green room, Busta Rhymes tells the AP that a tour had never come up in conversation across his decades of friendship and collaboration with Elliott. (He’s the intro and outro voice on her canonical debut album, 1997’s “Supa Dupa Fly.” They’ve long since been inseparable.)

“She doesn’t really tour and she doesn’t perform often. I just kind of understood my sister — the unspoken thing,” he says. “You knew that if she decided to do this, go to the place where she was actually ready to tour, the s--- was going to be crazy because one thing Missy never did was play with her production. And you saw that in everything she did, from her shows to her videos.”

He continued: “Missy will turn down $10 million to do a show. … She’s super in control of her destiny in that way, and without compromise, is what made her super incredibly great. You can’t do nothing but love her for that. She’s a true artist in the purest form of the word.”

And make no mistake, this isn’t a nostalgia tour.

“We are in the best spaces in our lives, individually and collectively, we’re at the most experienced spaces in our lives,” Rhymes says. “We’re no longer Daniel-san. We’re now all Mr. Miyagi senseis. You know what I’m saying? We’re all at our perfection levels of what we’ve been doing and building together as a collective family for 30 years.”

Elliott echoed the sentiment.

“The lineup feels something special,” says Elliott. “It’s family. It’s not put together.”

On set, the trio are styled by longtime collaborator June Ambrose — all-black looks, like if the Avengers were impeccably dressed and made up of R&B and hip-hop legends. They take photos as a group and individually.

After her solo photo shoot, Ciara starts to tear up.

“When I was a little girl, a little artist coming up, and you would ask me, ‘Who inspires you?’ I would infuse a combination of people: Michael Jackson and Prince and I would say Missy Elliott. She’s one of the best performers of all time,” she said.

“She means a lot to me as an artist but also as a person, as a sister. She’s always someone I can call for the truth, and she’s got to keep it real with me. She’s someone I can call and cry to if I need to.”

But ask her if there will be any on-stage collaborations — Elliott wrote and was featured on Ciara’s huge hit “1, 2 Step”; Ciara’s on Elliott’s “Lose Control” — she laughs. “Missy’s very particular. I don’t want to ruin any surprises,” she says. “I think from beginning to end, people will be on their feet. All of us have a lot of energetic records.”

“Somebody’s gonna die!” Rhymes jokes.

“And come back to life,” Ciara cuts in.

“Let’s keep it positive,” Rhymes laughs. “Someone is gonna die and come back to life.”

Later, Elliott offers a hint at what fans can expect from the show. “It’s an experience, it’s not just you seeing the artist on the stage,” she says. “I want people to travel to those moments, those (music) videos , I want you to relive it on stage. It is most definitely a lot of good, good stuff. Expensive stuff!”

The “Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience” kicks off in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 4 at Rogers Arena and concludes in Rosemont, Illinois, at Allstate Arena on Aug. 22.

It will hit Seattle; Oakland, California; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; Denver; Austin, Texas; Houston; Fort Worth, Texas; Tampa, Florida; Sunrise, Florida; Atlanta; Baltimore; Hampton, Virginia; Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; Newark, New Jersey; Boston; Brooklyn, New York; Detroit; Montreal and Toronto.

The tour is produced by Young’s Monami Entertainment and Live Nation. Presale begins tomorrow , and tickets will become available to the general public on Friday.

The WWE’s biggest event of the year is here with WrestleMania 2024 . This year’s event features 13 matchups, including seven title bouts, spread over two nights on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7.

While all the WWE superstars are expected to participate in WrestleMania , night one featured Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s return to the squared-circle in a tag team match, as he and Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

Night two of WrestleMania 40 features Roman Reigns vs. Rhodes in an undisputed WWE Universal Championship title main event. There will also be a World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.
