Fethard Horse Country Experience

Visit the Fethard Horse Country Experience to gain insight into Ireland's renowned bloodstock industry. Here you will find a high-spec, interactive exhibition detailing the rich heritage of the area over 2000 years. It also boasts the skeleton of legendary Coolmore sire Sadler’s Wells, a stallion that ranked as Great Britain and Ireland’s leading sire a record 14 times!

The FHC Experience is based in a 17th century Tholsel building, spanning over two floors. The entire building is wheelchair accessible.

Opening Hours

Our opening hours from October to April will now be Thursday to Sunday, 10am - 5pm. Admission prices remain the same.

We are pleased to announce that we are returning to the Emerald Isle in 2024 to host our hugely popular annual tour to the Coolmore Stud & The Irish Guineas.

The Irish 1,000 Guineas is an historic flat horse race that is open to three-year-old thoroughbred fillies, with a course distance of 1 mile. It's a great horse racing holiday close to home.

The Irish 2,000 Guineas is the same distance but open to both colts and fillies and its winners often go on to compete in the later race, the St. James’s Palace Stakes which takes place in the following month.

We include a visit to the traditional Coolmore Stud before going on to experience two days of superb racing at The Curragh.

Accommodation

Horse & Jockey, Co Tipperary

The Horse & Jockey Hotel is a comfortable hotel with tasteful décor and is located near to the historical Irish landmark, 'The Rock of Cashel'. The hotel features a traditional bar, restaurant, Café Bar, leisure centre, swimming pool and spa.

Killashee Hotel

Situated in the beautiful countryside of County Kildare, Killashee Hotel is set amongst acres of lush gardens and wild woodland trails, approximately 2 kilometres outside of Naas Town and only a 20-minute drive from The Curragh Racecourse and 40 minutes from Leopardstown. Excellent dining options include The Terrace Restaurant, overlooking the stunning Fountain Gardens, and The Bistro, offering relaxed surroundings and live music at the weekends. A luxurious, award-winning spa, a hydrotherapy suite and leisure area are available for guests to unwind after a busy day at the races.

Special Interest Tours

We can tailor a one or two day Horselovers Tour which includes a visit to Irelands National Stud and Horse Racing Experience in County Kildare. We will arrange a visit to a Stud Farm or a Racehorse trainer before travelling on to the Golden Vale in County Tipperary. Overnight near Cashel. On day two you will visit the Irish Horse Museum and the renowned Coolmore Stud Farm in Fethard County Tipperary. On the return trip to Dublin we will take in a local Race Meeting/Horseshow or we can arrange a Trek in the Irish countryside.

Duration 2 Days   Price for a Private tour for 2/3 people including one overnight stay and admission charges €850 per person.
