About Corumbá
Founded as a military outpost and colony in 1778, it became strategically important with the opening of the Paraguay River to international trade after the War of the Triple Alliance (1865-70). Nearby are the buttes of Morro de Urucum, which contain vast mineral deposits.
Corumbá is a city known as the White City, because of the light color of its ground. It has 60% of the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul and 37% of the Brazilian Pantanal, then, considered the capital of Pantanal and the main city along the Paraguay river. The economy is mainly based on livestock-farming – it has the largest livestock population of Mato Grosso do Sul, mining, fishing and tourism. The city preserves its public buildings of European influence, as well as its history, costumes and traditions. It has as tourist sites: Cesario do Porto; Forte Coimbra (1776); Forte Junqueira (1871); Igreja Nossa Senhora da Candelária (1872); Urucum hill (the world’s 3rd largest ore reservation of iron and the 2nd one of manganese); photograph safari; Parque road, which crosses along Pantanal and head to Porto da Manda; Casa do Massa Barro; Casa do Artesão; Praça da Independência; boat rides and so go on!
Furthermore, because it’s located next to the border, you can easily go to other neighbor cities in Paraguay such as Puerto Suarez and Puerto Quijarro, important shopping centers of imported goods as well as craftworks from all over South America.
Facts about Corumbá
- Before Campo Grande was the economic center of the old Mato Grosso (before creating Mato Grosso do Sul), the economic hub of the region was Corumbá . This period began in 1873, after the war with Paraguay (or the Triple Alliance) and lasted until the 1930s.
- In the early twentieth century the city had more foreigners than Brazilians.
- The municipality of Corumbá is the largest state municipality, occupying nearly 20 % of the whole territory of Mato Grosso do Sul.
- Has the lower lands of the Midwest, the Pantanal, with just over 100 meters above sea level, and the highlands of the Midwest, the Mountain of Annatto, where altitudes exceed the 2000 meters . This all within a few miles of Corumbá.
- Early last century, the Sierra Annatto was visited by people from different regions, including other countries, seeking cures for ailments such as tuberculosis, due to the clean air and mountain climate beyond the natural waterfalls and pools of mineral water.
- It has the highest proportion of cattle per capita in the world, with an estimated 4.5 million cattle compared to 100,000 inhabitants.
- Historically, Corumbá has been much more important than today. Possessed the third largest port in Latin America and has been the main and most important trading center of the Midwest.
- Corumbá is considered the embryo of Mercosur, since it was the first city in the region to maintain trade relations with neighboring countries, especially Argentina and Paraguay.

Corumba in Brazil – the base for your trip to Pantanal
Corumba in Brazil is in the extreme west of the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul and it unfolds as a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers . We ourselves didn’t imagine that we would find so much to do in Corumba ! We only reserved three days of our itinerary through the Pantanal for this incredible city and it ended up being not enough.
To give you an idea, Corumba is the largest municipality in the State. It covers a large area of the Pantanal, making it a great place for nature lovers. Corumba is also the gateway to Serra do Amolar , one of the most magical places we have visited in Brazil – see more below!
This comprehensive guide unveils the hidden gems of Corumba , covering its rich history, transportation options, accommodation recommendations and a myriad of activities awaiting exploration.

A little about the history of Corumba in Brazil
Once a bustling port city, Corumba played a pivotal role in Brazil’s cultural and economic landscape. It was one of the main entry and exit routes for goods and immigrants, shaping the culture of Brazil during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Located on the banks of the important Paraguay River, Corumba was once the third largest port in Latin America !
Things started to change from the 19th century onwards. In 1930’s, the period known as Great Industrial Development, which, among other things, saw the construction of a huge railway line that connected Bauru to Corumba. From this moment on, the main economic axis in the central-west region became Campo Grande and Corumba gradually fell into oblivion and isolation.
Corumba never recovered the importance of its heyday and it is possible to see some signs of the collapse around the city. On the other hand, the people of Corumba showed us that they are very proud not only of the past, but of the present that they are capable and willing to build.
During our trip to Corumba , we had the opportunity to meet inspiring businesspeople who are doing wonderful work to rescue local culture and develop sustainable tourism , which has the preservation of the Pantanal as its main mission.
Here in this text, we recommend some of these companies and institutions for you to visit during your trip to Corumba in Brazil !
How to get to Corumba in Brazil
It is possible to get to Corumba in Brazil by:
- Flight : weekly Azul flights departing from Viracopos Airport (2h journey);
- Bus : Viação Andorinha leaving daily from São Paulo (20h journey);
- Car : coming from Campo Grande via BR 262 (Corumba – Campo Grande: 430 km away). Or by Presidente Prudente for those coming from São Paulo (1,400 km), and other Brazilian cities.
As we mention in our complete articles about Pantanal North and Pantanal South , we highly recommend going to Corumba by car . Particularly because the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul is not at all accessible by public transport.
If you are coming from the US or Europe (or flying from any other country really), then you will probably start your journey either in São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. So you can choose to either drive from there or fly to Campo Grande first.
Visitors from the US and Europe might face a slight difficult on communication if you are travelling to Corumba on your own. We recommend having internet connection as Google Translate works really well. But not all the places will give you reception, so tune up your Portuguese 🙂
Our trip to Corumba started in São Paulo and it was a super peaceful journey. But you also have the option to fly to Campo Grande go from Campo Grande to Corumba by car.
Corumba is a relatively small city with just over 100 thousand inhabitants. But it offers some good accommodation options of where to stay in Corumba:
Hotel Virgínia ($$): The rooms are simple, but the design of Hotel Virgínia is very cool. It is in fact we stayed! The owner’s mission is to preserve the Pantanal culture and you will find several regional elements there, from indigenous artefacts to decorative details in the rooms that resemble the city’s historic houses. The breakfast is also very tasty. Daily rate from R$200. Check availability here.
Hotel Nacional ($$): if you are looking for something more traditional, the Hotel Nacional might be a better option. More modern rooms and very delicious breakfast! Daily rates from R$200. Check availability here.
Pousada Xaraés ($$$): this is for those who want to have an experience on a Pantanal farm! Xaraés is 100 km from the urban center of Corumba. The idea is for you to immerse yourself in the Pantanal nature and culture, as accommodation includes all meals and activities such as horse riding, safari, etc. We went to have lunch at Pousada Xaraés and found the place beautiful. The farm is surrounded by lots of nature and is on the banks of the Abobral River.

- Visit Bolivia
- Visit Serra do Amolar
This museum, created and managed by the Instituto Homem Pantaneiro (IHP), is located in a historic mansion in Corumba. The idea is to provide an encounter with Pantanal culture, involving the visitor in a poetic and practical narrative of life in the Pantanal. The visit is quick and well worth it for anyone who wants to understand more about the region.
Location : Rua Manoel Cavassa, 275 Porto Geral, Corumba.
Guided Tour to La Cueva and visit to the Community of Montacusito
Across the border, in the Bolivian community of Montacusito, is the La Cueva cave (30 km from Corumba).
The tour is guided by women from the community and consists of visiting the cave, and then a visit to a trench area where soldiers from the Chaco War hid.
Both breakfast and regional lunch are included. To find out more about the tour, talk to Aguapé Ecoturismo .
Safari on Estrada Parque
While Pantanal Norte has the Transpantaneira, Pantanal Sul has Estrada Parque! There are 150 km of dirt road that cross part of the Pantanal crossing the Paraguay River, lots of fauna and flora!
This is certainly one of the best things to do in Corumba for those who want to spot animals and get a taste of Pantanal life.
It is possible to do Estrada Parque on your own . But honestly, we don’t recommend it as you end up missing a lot of animals and details about the biome.
For those who want to take the guided tour (like we did), our recommendation is the boys from Icterus . Gabriel and Rafael, guides and biologists who know everything about the region.
Come see on the Reel below what the walk along Estrada Parque is like:

Boat Trip in Corumba, Brazil
A boat trip along the Paraguay River in Corumba is simply unmissable. The Paraguay River is the most important in the region, connecting communities, histories and cultures.
There are several boat tour options in Corumba, such as Aguapé Ecoturismo, which takes you floating on the Paraguai-Mirim River; and even activities such as kayaking and stand up paddle on the Paraguay River.
Staying on a Pantanal farm is a great way to experience a more peaceful and contemplative Pantanal . You can find these farms throughout the Southern Pantanal, and we even indicate some in the Miranda and Aquidauana region here in this text.
But in Corumba it is also possible to stay at one, like Fazenda Xaraés, which we visited and loved. The idea here is that you stay at least two nights , and tours such as horseback and car safaris are included in the package, as are all meals.
The only issue is that you are a little isolated, so for those who only have a few days in Corumba, you have to see if it’s worth spending them all on a farm and giving up seeing the other things there are to do in Corumba.
Visit Bolivia from Corumba in Brazil
Corumba is on the border with the Bolivian city of Puerto Quijarro and is definitely worth a visit! After all, it’s not often that you have the opportunity to visit Bolivia, right?
Plus, crossing the border is super easy and you can try Bolivian cuisine just around the corner!
Serra do Amolar
Serra do Amolar is simply one of the most beautiful, magical and profound places we have ever visited . The region is an RPPN (Private Natural Heritage Reserve) managed by the Instituto Homem Pantaneiro and until recently it was difficult to visit, but the Institute opened a tourist arm called Amolar Experience to make tourism in Serra do Amolar viable .
Serra do Amolar is the last frontier of the Pantanal, a place of rare beauty and practically untouched by human hands. The starting point for visiting Serra do Amolar is Corumba and getting there is not simple or cheap due to the distances and lack of infrastructure, but it is very worth it. We have an entire article dedicated to Serra do Amolar that you can read here .
The boat trip is on the Paraguay River and lasts 6 hours leaving from Corumba. It is recommended to reserve at least three days for the trip. For more information, speak to Amolar Experience.
Travelling to Corumba for 55+ age
Even though travelling to Corumba might seem not so easy, you can have a completely hassle-free experience. We recommend using a good travel agency, that focus on responsible tourism, such as the IHP.
Also, the city offers quite good hotels and infrastructure. If you have more than 55 years old, you can do most of your actives in a car or boat. Just be prepared for the heat and mosquitoes.
If you want us to organise your visit to Corumba, please send us a message we will gladly make a completely tailored itinerary for you.

Planning a Trip in Corumba
Getting There
By Plane -- TAM (tel. 0800/570-5700 or 067/4002-5700; www.tam.com.br) and TRIP (tel. 3003-8747 or 0300/789-8747; ww.voetrip.com.br) offer daily flights to Corumbá via Campo Grande. Corumbá's airport is 5km (3 miles) north of downtown on Rua Santos Dumont (tel. 067/231-3322 ). A taxi to downtown (the best option) costs about R$25.
By Bus -- The bus station is on Rua Porto Carrero (tel. 067/3231-2033 ) about 3km (2 miles) west of downtown. Andorinha (tel. 067/3231-2033 or 0300/210-3900; www.andorinha.com) has nine buses per day to Campo Grande (approx. 6 hr.). It costs R$82.
Getting Around
Corumbá is so compact you can walk pretty much everywhere in the center of town. There are taxi stands all over town. Taxis can also be hailed on the street, or by calling Taxi Ponto One (tel. 067/3231-4043 ). Taxis are more expensive than elsewhere in Brazil. A trip from the bus station to downtown costs about R$25.
Visitor Information
The tourist information office, Setur, is on Rua Manuel Cavassa 275 on the waterfront (tel. 067/3232-5221; www.corumba.com.br). Open Monday to Friday noon to 6pm.
Tour Operators in the Corumba Pantanal
Local tour operators can set up all the logistics of your journey, sometimes cheaper than you can do by contacting the lodge directly. It's worthwhile making contact, if only to compare prices. Operators in Corumbá have, in recent years, been eager enough for business to offer serous discounts (Pantur has been offering a two-for-one deal on airfare). Pantur (tel. 067/3231-2000; www.pantur.com.br) offers day tours along the Estrada Parque into the Pantanal, and fishing expeditions along the Paraguay. Perola do Pantanal (tel. 067/3231-1470; www.peroladopantanal.com.br) specializes in multiday fishing expeditions along the Paraguay, but also offers photo safaris along the Estrada Parque. Canaã Viagens e Turismo (tel. 067/3231-3667; www.pantanalcanaa.com.br) also specializes in fishing expeditions, but offers a few eco-tourism options as well. Generally speaking, a 5-day, 4-night eco-tourism adventure includes accommodations at a Pantanal fazenda, horseback-riding trips, and wildlife-watching, and starts at about R$1,400 per person.
City Layout
Corumbá is a small and pretty city, laid out in a perfect grid on a cliff top, overlooking the Pantanal toward the west. The center of the city is a green city square called Praça da Independencia. Bordering the square to the north and south are two of Corumbá's principal streets, the Rua 15 de Novembro and the Rua Frei Mariano. To the west of Praça Independencia, the 2 blocks of Rua Frei Mariano between Rua 13 de Junho and Avenida Rondon make up Corumbá's principal shopping district. North a block along Rua 13 de Junho is another, slightly seedy square called the Praça da República. On the east side of that square is the Museu do Pantanal. Avenida Rondon itself is a wide boulevard running along the edge of the cliff overlooking the Paraguay River and Pantanal. It's a pretty street lined with tall Imperial palms, where Corumbáianos like to stroll in the evening. At the intersection of Rua Frei Mariano and Avenida Rondon, a small street -- Ladeira Jose Bonifacio -- runs steeply downhill to the marina and port area, the Porto Geral. The port is currently about half-renovated; there are a number of outdoor cafes and a few restaurants on the waterfront. It's also the place to find the tourism office and fishing and tour operators.
Car Rental -- Localiza, Rua Cabral 22064, Centro (tel. 067/3231-6000 ).
Consulates -- Bolivian consulate, Rua Cabral 1607 (tel. 067/3231-5605 ).
Currency Exchange & Banks -- Banco do Brasil, Rua 13 de Junho 914 (tel. 067/3231-2686 ). HSBC, Rua Delamare 1068, has an ATM (tel. 067/3231-5455 ).
Hospital -- Clinica Prontomed, Rua Major Gama 782 (tel. 067/3231-1301 ).
Internet Access -- Cyber Point, Rua Major Gama 1387 (tel. 067/3232-4381 ). Open Monday to Saturday 9am to 11pm; cost is R$8 per hour.

- Tours from Corumba
Introduction:
Pantanal Expeditions offers reliable low-budget tours for backpackers in the Southern Pantanal departing from Corumba, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil each day. We have options for two, three and four-day group tours. The tours include transportation from Buraco das Piranhas to the lodge, and onward to Campo Grande or Bonito in our shared van at the end of the trip.
Getting to Corumba from Santa Cruz de la Sierra:
To get to Corumbá from Bolivia you can take the Death Train from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia to Puerto Quijarro or a bus. From there, you can take a shared taxi the remaining 4 km to the bus terminal or the city center. The trains and buses all leave from the Terminal Oriental Av Intermodal, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Tel. +591 3 3387000 The distance is 644 km. On Sundays, Tuesdays & Thursdays there is a Ferrobus with a sleeper car. It departs from Santa Cruz at 18h00 and arrives at 07h00 the following morning at Puerto Quijarro. The cost is about US$ 34 per person. There is a sleeper bus departing Santa Cruz at 20h30 and arriving at 04h30 in Puerto Quijarro the regular reclining seats are approximately US$ 12 and the even more comfortable seats run approximately US$ 18. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays a Super-Pullman departs at 13h20 and arrives at 06h00 the following morning. The cost is about US$ 10. From there, you will need to get your exit stamp from Bolivia, and then your entry stamp with the Polícia Federal in Brazil as well as make declarations at the Receita Federal.
Making Change:
There are street merchants waiting to change money on the Bolivian side of the border. They will change Dollars to Brazilian Reals and accept also any Bolivianos you still have. Changing money on the streets in Brazil is strictly illegal. Any offer to change money on the Brazilian side of the border should be looked upon with suspicion. Beware of street hagglers looking to take advantage of bleary-eyed travelers offering free transportation to the city to book a tour in cash. Credit and debit cards are readily accepted on the Brazilian side of the border, including the buses, but not on the Bolivian side. You can also withdraw money using your debit card or credit card in ATM machines in the Banco do Brazil and Bradesco Banks. We recommend that you continue directly from the border to the Corumbá bus terminal. The 13h00 bus gives you adequate time to clear the border and join the regular tour that goes out that day from Buraco das Piranhas. Nonetheless, for those who wish to have a layover or explore Corumbá, or who are delayed, you can depart at 0700 or we can make advance arrangements for the lodge to pick you up where the bus drops you off at the edge of the highway. From Corumbá the transport to Buraco das Piranhas-Passo do Lontra is 120 km and takes approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours. Here the Safari Car meets you and your tour begins.
Getting to Corumba from Santa Cruz:
Getting to the pantanal from corumba:.
Our Transport departs Corumba each morning for Buraco das Piranhas each morning at 10h00. You may have enough time to depart the same morning that you arrive in Corumba once you receive your exit stamp from Bolivia and your entry stamp from Brazil. The trip is 120 km and takes about 1 1/2 hours.
Departing from the Pantanal:
The tours end after lunch on the final day. Your guide and driver will then transport you back to Buraco das Piranhas in the Safari Car where you will meet your outbound transportation departing at approximately 15h00.
Onward to Campo Grande & Beyond:
For those traveling onward to Campo Grande, you will embark in our van. We will drop you off at the Campo Grande International Airport, your hostel, hotel or the Campo Grande Bus Terminal. You will arrive in Campo Grande at approximately 19h00, and therefore you should not book an outbound flight departing before 21h00. You will have time to book an overnight bus to São Paulo or Iguassu Falls, ask us for more details. We would also be happy to reserve one of our recommended hostels or hotels in Campo Grande if you are planning a layover.
Onward to Bonito & Beyond:
For those traveling onward to Bonito, you will embark on our shared van service. We will drop you off at your lodge or hostel in Bonito on arrival at approximately 19h00. We encourage you book your tour vouchers in Bonito through us or another agency in advance, as well as lodging as the best trips go out early in the morning and the central reservation system will be closed for the night at the time you arrive and it will be impossible to book anything until the following morning when some of the trips have already departed. From Bonito, we offer van service from your lodge, hotel or hostel to the Campo Grande airport departing at 04h20, 07h30, 10h00, 12h30, 18h30. The journey takes approximately 4 ½ hours. We can advise you of bus schedules onward to the Campo Grande Bus Terminal or how to make the connections to go directly to Iguassu Falls from Bonito.

In April 2016, ATTA’s latest AdventureWeek took place in Bonito and Pantanal, Brazil . Since then much has happened as a result of the event and the destination continues to thrive. A few weeks ago, an example came across my inbox that I wanted to share with the adventure travel community as a continuing example of cross-border partnership development.
Corumbá , a gateway city to the Southern Pantanal in Brazil and situated on the border with Bolivia, approached me several months ago to help them connect with some of ATTA’s members in Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile. This resulted in Fundação de Turismo do Pantanal hosting 39 potential buyers to the region for a FAM trip during the 4th Encontro Turismo de Fronteira (Brazil-Bolivia Border Tourism Meeting) in Corumba in November.
The FAM trip participants had immersive adventure and cultural experiences much like those during the AdventureWeek in April: the Pantanal Cruise with JoiceTur , the historical downtown, the cultural ceremony of “bathing the saint”, horseback riding, outstanding wildlife observation and unforgettable food.
One of ATTA’s members in Brazil, Val Murray from Green Toad Bus that participated on the FAM and said, “Throughout this trip, we were exposed to the region’s rich potential as an appealing destination for international visitors interested in combining Brazil & Bolivia as part of the same travel itinerary. Our agency left Corumba with fresh ideas for adding new travel packages to our product portfolio, which would highlight the region's natural wonders, cultural delights, and great facilities.”
An ATTA member in Chile, Rodrigo Streitt from In2travel said, “It was four wonderful days! We experienced the flora and fauna of the place and met very cheerful and loving people. Coming to Brazil is always a great experience.”
- The first action was AdventureWeek Brazil: Bonito and Pantanal which resulted, among other things, in great articles on the Pantanal region, (example: National Geographic article by Avery Stonich ). Corumbá was then recognized as the "air hub and capital of the Pantanal culture" in Brazil. One of the main aspects that ATTA brought to us was the experience in the relationship with the international market, the unrestricted help with the final adjustments of the itinerary and the validation of the new tourism product presented, which was the river cruise in Pantanal for ecotourism and the Adventure tourism market.
- The second action was the 4th Encontro Turismo de Fronteira when the ATTA positively incentivized their members to attend the FAM and demonstrated trust in Corumbá destination.”
The development of collaborations across borders directly aligns with ATTA’s values. We believe cooperation is more productive than competition. Brazil is actively working on a strategy with ATTA to build on these successes. Look for more from us soon.

Your Shot of the Month: Brazil’s Salto Corumbá
Traveler ‘s epic end-of-year “Best of the World” issue—which highlights 20 must-see places to visit in 2016—features a photograph taken by Your Shot member Victor Lima , who joined Nat Geo’s photo community just this year.
The long-exposure image of Salto Corumbá , a breathtaking waterfall located near the geographic center of Brazil, represents the first-ever member-submitted cover in National Geographic history.
“This looks like a magical place and it works perfectly in a vertical composition,” commented Traveler editor in chief Maggie Zackowitz, “especially with the three tiny figures in the foreground to lend a sense of scale.”
Lima’s winning photograph was one of more than 34,000 entries submitted to a Your Shot assignment calling on members to share photos of their “best place” to correspond with Traveler ‘s flagship feature.
I caught up with Victor, who is based in
, to find out why he thinks Salto Corumbá is the “best of the world,” get the scoop on his favorite places to visit in his native Brazil, and see if he had any advice for other aspiring photographers out there who dream of seeing their work on the pages of a National Geographic magazine.
Here’s what he had to say:
Leslie trew magraw: what makes the waterfall seen in your winning photograph, salto corumbá, so special.
Victor Lima: Salto Corumbá is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, found 120 kilometers (75 miles) west of Brasília. It’s a magical thing to get so close to a waterfall this tall (approximately 225 feet) and swim at its feet.
Though surrounded by forest, Salto Corumbá has everything a visitor might want, including restaurants, bars, seven waterfalls (all accessible), cave rivers, horse and hiking trails, water slides, swimming pools, a children’s water park, and opportunities for outdoor adventure sports like abseiling , zip lining, and rafting.
Most foreigners that travel to Brazil go to Rio de Janeiro or the rain forests of the northeast. Why do you think travelers should visit Brasília and the highlands that surround it?
Brasília is a city ahead of its time, a monument in the open. Having existed for only 55 years, it is already a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city has an intense night life and cultural and natural resources in abundance, such as waterfalls, caves, and lakes.
Located in the central plateau region of Brazil, Brasília also affords easy access to several destinations worth visiting, including:
- Pirenópolis , an adventure-lover’s dream known for its waterfalls and colonial architecture;
- Caldas Novas , one of the largest hydrothermal resort in the world; and
- Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park , a national park that protects a vital swath of the biodiverse Cerrado —Brazil’s vast tropical savanna—and is yet another of the country’s UNESCO World Heritage sites.
I understand you’ve only been studying photography for about a year. Impressive! Do you have any advice for aspiring photographers out there?
I bought my first camera in November 2014, when I took a trip with my fiancée to Spain, and began to study photography [in earnest] only in January.
The best tips I can give to anyone interested in pursuing photography are:
- Study hard about light and composition, and try to make your photo speak for itself without relying on captions or subtitles.
- The last thing you should worry about is having professional-grade equipment. Focus on learning photographic techniques before investing in gear.
- Photography is about being in the right place at the right time. Planning helps a lot.
What made you submit this image to the Your Shot “Best of the World” photo assignment?
It’s my favorite photograph, [and that’s] because it was my first great photograph.
Brazil hosted the World Cup in 2014 and will be the host country for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Has the attention been good for your country? How has it changed?
Being selected to host major competitions like the World Cup and the Olympics is wonderful for any country, and no different for Brazil.
- Nat Geo Expeditions
Brazil has a fantastic potential for tourism, but it also has serious infrastructure problems. Being in the spotlight has pushed the government to make large investments in the country’s infrastructure, which have helped Brazil’s major cities become better equipped to welcome tourists.
Brazil is one of the largest countries in the world. What are the top ten places you’ve visited so far, besides your hometown?
Fernando de Noronha , Rio de Janeiro, Gramado , Florianópolis , Foz do Iguaçu (home to I guaçu Falls ), Salvador , Jericoacoara , Ipojuca , Curitiba , and Fortaleza .
