They were good. They kicked ass and we raised our horns to them. It was a rockin' good time. Abbath was the opening band and we booed him because we hate clown metal. Fenriz banged his head in a hair windmill that would make George Corpsegrinder be impressed. We love the Darkthrone heavy hard rocking black metal rock n roll.

About darkthrone.

Darkthrone is a black metal band from Kolbotn, Norway, formed in 1986 as a death metal band under the name Black Death. In 1991, the band embraced a black metal style influenced by Bathory and Celtic Frost and became one of the leading bands in the Norwegian black metal scene.

Their first three black metal albums—A Blaze in the Northern Sky (1992), Under a Funeral Moon (1993) and Transilvanian Hunger (1994)—are sometimes dubbed the "Unholy Trinity". They are considered the peak of the band's black metal career and to be among the most influential albums in the genre.

Darkthrone has been a duo of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto since guitarist Zephyrous left the band in 1993. Since 2006, their work has strayed from the traditional black metal style and incorporated more elements of traditional heavy metal, punk, and speed metal, being likened to Motörhead. The band have sought to remain outside the music mainstream.

Pioneers of a sound that changed the world. Lifelong disciples of suspense and mystery. An enigmatic duo like no other, hell-bent onhaunting souls through the eternities.

There are many things Darkthronehave been called since forming in 1986 and these are but a few, having drawn from a creative well so potent and powerful it turned them into one of Norway’s biggest musical exports.

Following from their debut album Soulside Journey, the next  three full-lengths, often referred to as ‘the unholy three’, set the benchmark for black metal in the early 90s,though in truth they’ve never been the kind to rest on such laurels –distilling elements of vintage punk, doom, thrash and death into their own sonic fingerprint and continuing to test that equation throughout the years. It’s been quite the journey, having won cryptic pair Nocturno and Fenriz legions of loyal fans around the world. This tradition will only continue with latest masterpiece  It Beckons Us All .

Set for release on Peaceville on 26 th  April 2024, the new music is an intense observation of the world around them – exciting and challenging the listener in equal measure, in the way only they can.

Some of the riffshowl across a gallery of ice and snow while others crackle like a volcano awakening from its timeless slumber, Nocturno’s demonic barks ricocheting across the intoxicating structures almost like it’s beaming from long-distant galaxy.

As Darkthrone have shown us so many times in the past, their music is as visual as it gets – evoking tangible imagery through the medium of sound. Whether the ideas are sombre, reflective or incensed, they exist as emotional concepts you can see and feel as much as you hear.  “I am having difficulties putting  into words  my personal feelings around the existential title  It Beckons Us All , I can only hope others out there can feel the darkness that encompasses it, ” muses Fenriz.

Never afraid to venture beyond the confines of the extreme metal template they were paramount in creating, there are moments on  It Beckons Us All   that will dazzle and surprise, as well as satisfy fans of old. Nocturno comments: “ We recorded in the manner we always do, live, meaning drums and guitar, with another guitar added later. We found a new  twist during this process  that surely benefited this album. Fenriz did stellar clean  vocals on several songs, and  his way of thinking creatively made  it  so good. We also shared the bass work this time around. We added a lot of extra layers lik e solo guitars… it was just a ca uldron of ideas. Instead of finding a  plug-in  or  choir synth patch , we both recorded four vocal tracks  each .  Darkthrone  is an ever-evolving band, as many should know by now, and this album is touching a bit into the heavy genre. I have no  idea what genre we are, and have   really not  cared much about it , but I know for sure it’s metal. “

In that sense,   It Beckons Us All   is very much demonstrative of two visionaries at their world-commanding best. They know what works but more importantly they choose to grow, throwing every ounce of their hearts and souls into evolving the jaw-dropping whirlpool of noise that could only ever have come from their collective minds. There are clean guitars, clean vocals and less typical instruments thrown into the mix, but the approach, intent and ethos at the heart of their fearless artistryremains very much the same. This is music for dreamers who find themselves paralysed by the contrasting beauty and ugliness in the world surrounding them. Never ones to appease the faint-hearted, Darkthrone are as real and human as it gets.

It   Beckons Us All  was recorded in April and May 2023 at Chaka Khan Studios in Oslo, the same location used for the  Eternal Hails  and  Astral Fortress  albums, mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door, with artwork courtesy of Polish artist  Zbigniew Bielak .

DARKTHRONE Announces New Album 'It Beckons Us All'

Norwegian black metal veterans DARKTHRONE will release a new album, "It Beckons Us All" , on April 26 via Peaceville Records .

Album Review: Darkthrone - It Beckons Us All

Enigmatic duo and Norwegian Black Metal legends Darkthrone have made a highly anticipated return with their 21st studio album It Beckons Us All . With an impressive career so far and extensive discography, the band have once again expanded on their capabilities and pushed the boundaries of extreme metal.

Fenriz says:

" I am having difficulties putting into words my personal feelings around the existential title It Beckons Us All , I can only hope others out there can feel the darkness that encompasses it."

Nocturno adds:

" We recorded in the manner we always do, live, meaning drums and guitar, with another guitar added later. We found a new twist during this process that surely benefited this album. Fenriz did stellar clean vocals on several songs, and his way of thinking creatively made it so good. We also shared the bass work this time around. We added a lot of extra layers like solo guitars… it was just a cauldron of ideas. Instead of finding a plug-in or choir synth patch, we both recorded four vocal tracks each. Darkthrone is an ever-evolving band, as many should know by now, and this album is touching a bit into the heavy genre. I have no idea what genre we are, and have really not cared much about it, but I know for sure it’s metal. ”

' Howling Primitive Colonies ' opens with a distorted, slightly uncomfortable but very brief synth which introduces the dark riffs and rhythmical drums. Harsh, preaching vocals cut through the dense instrumentation and hammering anvil tolls. A heavy doom element is prevalent here as the track chugs along at a groove-laden, mid-tempo pace full of doomy riffs and atmosphere. ' Eon 3 ' fades in with serious, chugging riffage which branches in to the death-doom territory on a foundation of black metal. ' Black Dawn Affiliation ' picks up the pace at a rolling gallop with dark melodies, flurries of riffs and pummeling drums. The halfway point darkens even further with haunting monastic chants and thunderous atmosphere; a definite highlight of the record. ' And In That Moment I Knew The Answer ' sways in to action and showcases the band's musical prowess. Purely instrumental in nature, this track focuses on catchy guitar hooks and technical solos but also swings like a sledgehammer.

darkthrone tour dates

' The Bird People Of Norland ' trudges its way through various tempo changes; alternating from progressively catchy riffs and flurries of black metal shreddage. This track is both thunderously dark yet enticing. Whammy bar solos scream through the conclusion of the track to ensure things gallop along nicely. ' The Heavy Hand ' drones and swings with a colossal force, relying once again on a very dense, doom element interspersed with rasping, vocals. ' The Lone Pines Of The Lost Planet ' may be the conclusion of the record but don't think for one second you're in for a reprieve. At a massive 10 minutes long, this track is a monumental soundscape full of moody rhythms, interesting Black Sabbath-esque style and experimentation. The guitarwork takes centre-stage on this track as it twists and turns in all its dark and gloomy glory. Towards the latter third of the track, you're transported in to a dissonant void with trickling water, giving the impression of falling in to an endless abyss. But just as you think the track has ended, it launches into old school heavy metal riffs and melodies with powerful clean vocals echoing all around you before fading out.

It Beckons Us Al l is a black metal record but it incorporates various elements of extreme metal to keep it fresh. With four decades and 21 studio albums under their belt, Darkthrone have crafted an album that stays true to their legacy.

Darkthrone announce new album Eternal Hails

Black metal duo Darkthrone will return with a new album Eternal Hails this June

A portrait of Darkthrone

Norwegian black metal legends Darkthrone are back. The duo have announced they will release their 19th studio album Eternal Hails on June 25 via Peaceville Records. It’ll mark the band’s first album since 2019’s Old Star .

The duo took to their Instagram account to warn followers to “expect the unexpected” from the album. Deciding to up sticks from their own Necrohell II studio, Eternal Hails marks the first album since 2004 to be recorded in a different location. But despite the change in studio, drummer Fenriz reassures fans there is no change in their DNA: “No matter what happens we will still sound like us, it seems!”

The album consists of five new songs all exceeding seven minutes. Explaining their decision opting for longer songs, lead singer and guitar player Nocturno Culto said: “When I was a kid growing up with metal, I kept looking for bands with long songs. Black Sabbath had many, and Celtic Frost’s Dawn Of Meggido had a long song, so I put that on in the record store and discovered another dimension of metal.”

Citing his main inspiration for this move, Culto continued “Candlemass, Epicus Doomicus Meatllicus had only long songs, so I think I bought that without even listening, and it was one of my best buys ever – an eternal inspiration for my entire career.

“For us it has become a bit logical, hard to explain, but you get to build up for a different kind of listening. A three-minute song is nothing we think of at the moment. We like it this way. For now.”

Eternal Hails  will be released on Peaceville on 25 June. Pre-orders are available now .

Nocturno Culto – Darkthrone ‘We Saw A Future With Longer Lines And A Different Ride All Together’

Posted on February 11, 2023 by andrewkapper

darkthrone tour dates

One of the biggest dice-rolls in the history of extreme metal, Darkthrone ‘s musical divergence from the death metal of their respected 1991 debut Soulside Journey to frost-bitten, pure black metal less than a year later was a hefty gamble to say the least. While to outsiders it may have appeared that the band had turned on a dime and flippantly changed their musical path – in reality, Darkthrone had worked hard on crafting a similar-styled follow up to Soulside Journey – and our focus of today – Goatlord. However, as we find out below,  Goatlord never made it beyond the rehearsal stages for a variety of reasons, and a mere three years after it’s shelving, the band had well and truly moved away from that style, having quickly amassed a triumvirate of certified black metal classics.

With such a vital stepping stone in both the career of Darkthrone and the black metal scene’s history about to receive it’s definite reissue, Wall of Sound had the pleasure to chat with Darkthrone founding member Ted ‘Nocturno Culto’ Skjellum about the freshly released Goatlord: Original , as well as the state of the band at the time, their creative process and the previous attempts of re-releasing the album.

How was band morale in Darkthrone following the release of Soulside Journey? Is it an album and time that you look back on positively?

Band morale was great. We had already started on Goatlord when we were in Stockholm to record our debut. It’s all good memories, and very hard work. We practically lived in the rehearsal space. To sew Goatlord together, and to perform it properly was a huge task, and back then we were like 18 years old and ready to show off our skills. But Darkthrone was everything for all of us back then, so morale was top notch.

How far through the creative process of Goatlord did you (and the band) start thinking that Darkthrone’s sound should go into the black metal direction?

That was after the recording of the rehearsal. We were preparing for studio and rehearsed a lot. I think Ivar (Enger, guitar) and myself felt we had been cornering ourselves with the technical stuff, and the music we played was pretty far from what we were listening to normally. So we saw a future with longer lines and a different ride all together. You know, it’s all coincidences basically. When you’re young, you just do things that pop into your head, without much thinking.

Were there many people around the band questioning Darkthrone’s decision to move away from death metal?

No, just within the band. Dag (Nilsen) was a great bass player, and it was no wonder he rejected our new path, it’s understandable. But Peaceville’s reaction when they got the master tapes for A Blaze In The Northern Sky is something that has been told numerous times before, and their reaction was also understandable, considering how hot Death Metal was at the time. I think they considered Entombed as a rival in this new era of Death Metal, but we certainly did not think that. There are so many factors to consider when thinking about that time, everything worked very differently than they do today, and we were all very young.

What music were you listening to during this time period? How much did it influence the songwriting process like for Goatlord?

We listen to all kinds of music, but Darkthrone, and any other band, lives its own life, and since we were young, we all wanted to get better at our instruments. So for what inspired Goatlord, well there is many things, I know that the Nocturnus demo and first album was one of them, alongside with Autopsy, Bathory, Motorhead, Yes, Rush, Voivod, Pestilence, Possessed and many many more.

darkthrone tour dates

How was the demo tape originally recorded? Do you remember what gear and equipment you and the band were using at the time?

I brought a portable cassette player that could also record, and the real gold here was that it had stereo microphones. After finding out where to place the recorder for [the] best sound, we started recording. I can’t really remember if we recorded Goatlord in one or two nights, but it was intense. We had rehearsed and made the album for a long time and was on top it. Equipment was Marshall stacks, and old drums. One of the bass drums has been with us for over 30 years now, been on every record besides Soulside Journey and Astral Fortress.

With just over a year between the releases of Soulside Journey and A Blaze In The Northern Sky , did any material from Goatlord become repurposed for A Blaze…?

Yes, it’s easy to forget that A Blaze is a crossover album. So some riffs were rewritten a bit to slide into A Blaze. We chose the parts that would fit the best of course. We were absolutely on fire when starting the process with A Blaze… So much in fact, that A Blaze was initially going to be a mini album. After some thought, we shot down that idea, we wanted to go all in for something truly to remember.

What was the mindset of yourself and Fenriz following the initial departure of Dag Nilsen and eventual parting of Zephyrous? Did you ever consider splitting up the group, or did it strengthen your bond?

We most definitely strengthened our bonds. This was the start of a whole new journey for us, being in complete control. Around 2005, Zephyrous was about to join the band again, but sadly he got injured in his hand and could not play the guitar.

The decision to release Goatlord with vocals in 1996 seems to be divisive amongst extreme metal fans – what are your thoughts on this vocal-led version of the album?

Eh, well, I think the new release will be the ultimate version. I remember we were a bit confused on how the vocal should be arranged when we made this album. Even with proper planning, this would not be an easy task. This album was almost meant to be instrumental. The (2011) re-issue was basically the same as the first release. I know this can be a bit much, three releases with three different covers, remaster etc. But still, this new release is at least for me, the ultimate version.

Goatlord: Original is transferred from Fenriz’ original tape source – what condition was this tape in? Was there any remixing or cleaning up during the transferring process?

I don’t know much about that process, but the guy that mastered it for this release has certainly altered the sound a bit, but this is very close to how it was. The guitars might have, originally, been a bit higher in the mix.

The new artwork for the LP is amazing, and a bit different than previous Darkthrone releases. How did you and Zbigniew Bielak come to work together? Did yourself and Fenriz have any creative input?

We did not have any creative input on this, other than we gave it thumbs up. It’s truly a stunning piece of art. Zbigniew and I are keeping in touch now, he is fantastic.

Does listening and revisiting this era of the band (and your life) fill you with much nostalgia? Does it put into perspective how much Darkthrone has achieved in the three decades since it’s release?

We are a band that does not look back. But lately, after realizing that 35 years has passed for me in the band, I feel…something hehe. But we always look forward. The fact that we don’t waste time on live shows, enables us to be creative and make albums. Albums last forever. One day, when Darkthrone ends, I will have time for nostalgia for sure.

What are you hoping that fans will get out of this new reissue?

This is a piece of us, for those interested. Huge amount of work was put into this, and this release is the most honest of them all. This was a true Darkthrone rehearsal. I remember back in 96-97 I did a interview with a German journalist, and he asked me one of the funniest questions ever on Goatlord. He was suggesting that the Goatlord release was basically a money grab for us, and I think I politely asked him if he had heard it, cause this will in no way be a huge thing, this will be for those who are especially interested, and we don’t make much money out of it.

Darkthrone Unveil New Song “Black Dawn Affiliation” Ahead of Upcoming Album: Stream

Darkthrone have released the new song “Black Dawn Affiliation,” the lead single from the Norwegian black metal veterans’ newly announced album, It Beckons Us All , out April 26th.

The duo of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto both commented on the new song, with Fenriz stating, “Nocturno Culto sculpted ‘Black Dawn Affiliation’ and as much as I writhe in woe trying to describe riffs I did not make, we are certainly rocking hard and dark around a dungeon of slow Kreator 1986-era riffs (think ‘Awakening of the Gods’ or ‘Take Their Lives’ from the Flag of Hate 12″).”

Nocturno Culto added, “It is not easy to describe the music you make, but for sure I will try…it’s heavy! Everything worked out as I hoped for this track. Some things are just forged in the studio, like as Fenrizs excellent vocals at the end of the song; and the choir I wanted. Instead of just taking shortcuts, Fenriz and I recorded three vocal tracks each, and it was brilliantly mixed by Silje at Chaka Khan. There are many things one can say about riffs, but I make songs from a combination of a very methodical approach and happy accidents! And somewhere in the back of my head, it’s most likely there is something affecting a lot of my decisions on little details that shapes the riffing.”

“Black Dawn Affiliation” will be the only track unveiled ahead of the release of It Beckons Us All , which is Darkthrone’s 20th studio album overall.

The outing includes a planned stop at the troubled Co-Op Live in Manchester, England, which has been beset by a series of false starts and technical issues during what was slated to be its opening month. To date, shows by Olivia Rodrigo and A Boogie Wit a Hoodie have been postponed at the last minute and the 23,500-capacity building originally slated to open on April 23-24 with shows by comedian Peter Kay has yet to put on a full show for a capacity crowd. On May 2, the venue said it was taking a “short pause” in events to “fully ensure the safety and security of fans and artists visiting the venue”

How to buy maroon 5 tickets: dates and prices compared for 2024 concert tour.

Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency kicks off this month, and tickets are going fast as the band's concert dates fill up. In addition to securing passes for their festival appearances this year, we've broken down how to buy Maroon 5 tickets for their concert tour below.

Originally formed in 1994, Maroon 5 is celebrating 30 years together as they kick off their Las Vegas residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM. The new tour, referred to in shorthand as "M5LV: The Las Vegas Residency," is an extension of their 16-show residency last year. After their run in Las Vegas last year proved to be a huge hit, the group led by Adam Levine is back for another 16 shows at the Dolby Live theater this year.

Maroon 5's residency begins on May 17, and will feature performances in May, June, September, and October. The Dolby Live theater isn't the only location that Maroon 5 is performing at this year; the pop rock band is set to make festival appearances and headline other venues around North America throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

We've got you covered if you're looking for how to get tickets to Maroon 5's concert tour. Here's our breakdown of Maroon 5's residency and tour schedule, purchasing details, and original and resale ticket price comparisons. You can also browse ticket specifics at your leisure on StubHub and Vivid Seats .

Maroon 5 has 16 concert dates lined up for their Las Vegas residency in 2024. Their shows at the Dolby Live begin on May 17 before the band takes their final bow of the tour on October 12. Additionally, Maroon 5 has nine concerts scheduled for their 2024 tour in various cities around the country.

All concert times are listed in local time zones.

You can buy standard original tickets for Maroon 5's 2024 concert tour on Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Both their Las Vegas residency and outside tour dates still have options available. However, the quantity of remaining original tickets continues to decrease as each concert date approaches.

Passes to see Maroon 5 in their 2024 concert series are also available for purchase through verified ticket resale sites such as StubHub and Vivid Seats . You may find better luck with more variety in seating availability through these resale vendors.

Maroon 5 tickets for their 2024 concerts are generally less expensive than similar big-name acts on tour this year. Of course, original ticket prices for Maroon 5's 2024 tour vary depending on date, location, and demand for each show.

The cheapest standard original tickets for Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency dates begin at $75, while the lowest available prices for their shows elsewhere start at $40 for the band's Clarkston, Michigan concert on June 21. Generally, resale ticket prices for Maroon 5's 2024 shows are comparable to or cheaper than the costs of standard original tickets.

On StubHub, the least expensive tickets for Maroon 5 range from $28 for the group's Holmdel, New Jersey show on June 29 to $116 for their Springfield, Massachusetts concert on July 1. Vivid Seats offers a similar price range, with the band's cheapest ticket prices starting from $27 at their Holmdel show to $114 for Maroon 5's Springfield concert on the same dates.

These resale sites have comparable prices for Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency shows, as well. The starting prices for the band's Las Vegas concerts range between $42 on May 17 and $92 on June 1 on StubHub, or from $41 on October 4 to $85 on June 1 on Vivid Seats.

Maroon 5 is also offering VIP packages for their 2024 concert tour. Their Las Vegas residency dates offer a Premium VIP Banquet package beginning at $495, but these tickets must be sold in multiples of two. The band also offers three VIP packages for their tour dates elsewhere: Diamond Premium Seat (starting at $685), Gold Premium Seat (starting at $435), and Silver Hot Seat (starting at $410).

Who is opening for Maroon 5's tour?

Maroon 5 doesn't have any opening acts for their Las Vegas residency concert dates. But, the band will be joined by Maren Morris for their non-festival touring dates outside Las Vegas in 2024.

Maroon 5 hasn't announced an international leg for their 2024 tour. However, the band has two shows already confirmed for Canada in 2024: June 25 in Toronto, Ontario and July 7 in Ottawa, Ontario.

Johnny Marr rocks out on guitar.

Manchester will be united in the States this year.

Johnny Marr and James — both natives of the aforementioned England city — are embarking on a 20-concert North American co-headlining tour this fall.

Along the way, the pair will stop in for one night at Brooklyn’s newly opened Paramount Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

This won’t be their first time touring together either; James opened for Marr’s band The Smiths on the group’s 1985 ‘Meat Is Murder Tour.’

“We admired them and even did one of their songs in our set,” Marr said recalling the tour in a press release. “I’ve been a fan of theirs ever since and being out on tour again after 40 years is a really great thing.”

We look forward to making magic together,” James’ lead singer Tim Booth added.

And if you can’t wait to see these ’80s icons reunited, tickets for all Marr and James shows can be scooped up as early as today.

Fans can now purchase tickets on sites like Vivid Seats ; the official on-sale is Friday, May 10.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Johnny Marr tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues, and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Johnny Marr set list

Most recently, Marr took his ‘The Spirit Power Tour’ to Nottingham on April 14.

Here’s what he brought to the stage that night, courtesy of Set List FM :

01.) “Sensory Street” 02.) “Panic” (The Smiths song) 03.) “Generate! Generate!” 04.) “Spirit Power and Soul” 05.) “New Town Velocity” 06.) “This Charming Man” (The Smiths song) 07.) “Somewhere” 08.) “Walk Into the Sea” 09.) “The Answer” 10.) “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want” (The Smiths song) 11.) “Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before” (The Smiths song) 12.) “Get the Message” (Electronic song) 13.) “Bigmouth Strikes Again” (The Smiths song) 14.) “Hi Hello” 15.) “How Soon Is Now?” (The Smiths song) 16.) “Easy Money” 17.) “Getting Away With It” (Electronic song)

18.) “The Passenger” (Iggy Pop cover) 19.) “You Just Haven’t Earned It Yet, Baby” (The Smiths song) 20.) “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out” (The Smiths song)

James set list

In late October 2023, James headlined at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

According to Set List FM , here are the 15 tracks the band played that evening.

01.) “Sound” 02.) “Ring the Bells” 03.) “Curse Curse” 04.) “Walk Like You” 05.) “Interrogation” 06.) “Tomorrow” 07.) “Come Home” 08.) “She’s a Star” 09.) “Johnny Yen” 10.) “All Good Boys” 11.) “Sit Down” 12.) “Beautiful Beaches” 13.) “Getting Away With It (All Messed Up)” 14.) “Sometimes (Lester Piggott)” 15.) “Laid”

Johnny Marr new music

Last year, Marr dropped a Best Of compilation featuring all the hits from his storied career.

What we’re most interested in though is his 2022 release “Fever Dreams Pts 1-4.”

Comprised of 16 pulsing tracks, Marr shows off his gifts for straddling the line between hard rock and jangle pop.

While the record is “no skip” level good, we can’t help but recommend three standout tracks that showcase Marr’s musicianship- the soaring “Lightning People,” the rocking yet danceable “Sensory Street” and nimble, poppy “Night And Day.”

Don’t sleep on the opening track “Spirit Power and Soul” either; it’d fit right in at a haunted house/crossfit hybrid if that makes sense.

Want to hear for yourself?

You can find “Fever Dreams Pts 1-4” in its entirety here .

James new music

Just this year, James released their 18th studio album “Yummy.”

Unsurprisingly, the veteran rockers haven’t lost a step.

Album opener “Is This Love” is a feel good singalong that sets the tone for an inventive, dreamy, atmospheric record that sounds like a bizarro world version of The Killers.

Piano heavy “Shadow Of A Giant” is a surprise diversion from the band’s straightforward indie pop sound as they land on something that sounds brand new and familiar all at once; “Mobile God” evokes otherworldly bombasity.

Make sure to stick around for the album closer “Folks,” too. It’s the perfect melancholy capper to the unpredictable yet always satisfying “Yummy.”

Jonas Brothers add more than 50 dates to The Tour: 'We want MORE!'

darkthrone tour dates

The Jonas Brothers – and their fans – want more. More tour, that is.

The brother trio – Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas – announced a new batch of dates Thursday for their upcoming The Tour, which kicks off in New York with two sold-out nights at Yankee Stadium Aug. 12 and 13, supporting their sixth release, "The Album." The band is adding more than 50 new shows to the North American leg of the tour and across Europe, Australia and New Zealand, totaling more than 90 shows across 20 countries in their largest tour to date.

"You heard us… we want MORE! We added additional dates for THE TOUR in Australia, Europe and the US," the Jonas Brothers shared on Instagram alongside a cheeky video of the three of them excited about wanting "more."

Another sibling group, pop-soul act Lawrence led by Clyde and Gracie Lawrence, will open all the North American shows.

Ahead of the tour, the Jonas Brothers unpeeled the layers behind their albums at midtown Manhattan's Marquis Theater for their  five-night concert residency on Broadway .

Fans might also get an emotional moment between the brothers on tour with their ballad "Little Bird," which talks about the importance of a father/daughter relationship and is among their new favorites to perform live.

"It's one of those tunes where you're fighting back tears," Joe Jonas told USA TODAY in a May interview . "It's an emotional tune and we all kind of go, 'OK, here we go' when we see it on the setlist."

"I think it's like a thing where (before) one of us was out on a boat or something and the other was home with kids. There was a clear difference in what our realities are on an everyday basis," Nick Jonas said in the same interview. Now, "there's a better understanding and awareness of where we're all at, and that's totally reflected in the music."
