  • mcgoodstein 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles A little disappointed We took a group of people on the Duck Tour, everyone was very excited as this had been rescheduled due to bad weather. Unfortunately it wasn't until we arrived that we were told the water part of the tour was cancelled apparently due to bad weather. So the land section was extended. Which was very good. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the trip was very interesting, but everyone was a little disappointed about the boat ride. Read more Written 18 October 2023

  • obaid121212 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Not much of site seeing Not much of sightseeing and lot of talking/ information overload. Started in a bus with a 2 min drive going into the water; stayed in the water floating while the tour guide kept talking about history and turned around after 50 min and back to the stop. Not worth it. You can read all that on google. Better to go around on your own and actually discover the city. Read more Written 13 September 2023
  • Jenwith1N1973 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Tony "Ducks" is a great guide! It's not every day that you get to cruise the Casco Bay in an amphibious vehicle! Tony was an excellent tour guide -- didn't talk the whole time and when he did, he told funny stories and shared interesting facts. My family lives in Portland, and my mom was visiting from out of town -- we all enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend that locals try this one too and see your town from a different perspective! • Patrick6401 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great Way to See Portland First visit to Portland. Spent the first day walking the city but thought a tour would be a nice way to see more. We chose the duck tour because, well, it's a duck tour. The tour guide Tony was great - full of energy and information. Lots of quacking. We had a beautiful day so we enjoyed a leisurely ride through the bay off the East Prom park and had an informative ride through parts of the city. A nice way to relax and let someone else show you around. Would recommend this. Read more Written 22 August 2023

The Super Duck: Portland’s Amphibious Tour Boat

Summer: Nothing screams tourist than tour buses and trollies but, what a fun way to spend some time learning about the city you live in aboard the Super Duck! This is not your typical tour bus because mid-way through the 90 minute tour the rolling bus suddenly becomes a floating boat! That’s right, this 39 foot vehicle gives a tour of Portland on both land and sea. From the seats of the Super Duck we were able to enjoy the sites of Casco Bay. It is a fun adventure to take the whole family on and is interesting for anyone including native Portlanders. The Super Duck is very stable so even those who tend to be prone to motion sickness like myself should be fine. The tour begins in the Old Port section of Portland and enters the water on the Eastern Promenades boat ramp. You cruise right past Fort Gorges which is hard to get to unless you have your own boat. It offers a great view of Portland Harbor and is a great way to entertain out of town guest. So jump aboard the boat or bus whichever it is it is definitely fun!
