The person in charge was rude and racist. We were visiting Lake Chelan on the weekend of April 8th, 2023. Unfortunately, the water activities were not open yet so we decided to go to this establishment in the hopes that we can do the rope course as a family. We waited for quite some time at the counter because apparently the person who mans booth was also the one providing safety orientation for the course participants. They ware obviously understaffed. When the person in charge came over, his first question was if we had an online reservation and I told him we didn't. He said we should have booked online but he will book us for the ax throwing for the meantime as we wait. He got us to fill out the waivers and when we were done, he found it amusing that my last name was Necesito. He repeatedly kept saying "ayuda" to my face while laughing at my last name. I told my wife that the person in charge was having us wait because we did not book online, but that I got us to do the ax throwing first. So my wife then went to the website and booked us a session for us that same time that we are there. I then told the person in charge that we were able to book online. He couldn't believe it and started yelling at me right in front of my family and other customers. I just smiled and asked him what's wrong and he said in a very loud voice and very aggressive tone we couldn't have booked it because he shut down the booking for the day. Apparently, my wife booked the wrong location but that did not give him the right to be rude to us, on top of his being racist. We just left quietly after we got done with our ax throwing that we were no longer enjoying. A couple of days later, I got a survey in the email from the management about their service. I, of course, told them of the rude and racist behavior of their staff but nobody came back to me to address my concern. What is the point of sending surveys if nothing comes out of it when real concerns are raised. Their rope course is lame anyway and their facility is mediocre at best.

I brought my 3 kids here (8, 10, 12) and we all had a great time. The staff were very helpful in getting our gear on and training us on safety. Noah was very thorough and knowledgeable. Ziplines were a blast! We will return next time we're in Chelan.

I ended up taking my daughter and granddaughters to High Trek on Sunday. My granddaughters had been on an earlier vacation with their dad this year and weren't able to go then so they really wanted to check this place out on our trip. First you need to sign a waiver which is pretty typical for a place like this and you need to be wearing closed toed shoes, no bare feet or flip flops, if you didn't come with your own they provide you with "Crocs". Next you go through an orientation and putting on your fall protection harness and helmet. During the orientation you'll be shown how to operate the cable locks and how to move from feature to feature. You start on the ground with one of the staff making sure you are able to get around once you've shown that you're up to it they let you go and explore, have fun! My daughter and I opted to stay in the ground and offer support and take pictures while the girls burned some energy. Now my granddaughters have been doing gymnastics for years and also like to do rock climbing at the state fairgrounds so this was something they were familiar with. Isabelle my eldest, also has zip lined before. They both started out by cabling around the lower feature, cargo netting, suspended ladders and such but soon they were on the upper level where the zip lines are. We only paid for an hour for both but they went over by about 15 minutes but we weren't charged extra. If you have younger kids than my granddaughters 11-13 respectively you can pay to only get access to the lower levels which is kinda nice to be able to do. The staff are super friendly and helpful we all had a great experience I think your family will too!

Came here with a group of 11 for the axe throwing. Staff was very nice but not super knowledgeable about axe throwing. The setup is pretty rudimentary and one of the targets we were throwing at was very worn making it harder for some of our group to find success. There is a very small sitting area under a basic canopy for waiting/watching with literally no other amenities (drinks, music, etc). While admittedly some in our group weren't great at axe throwing, the stalls were literally falling apart. Our group ultimately got so bored that we left without using up our whole time. This could have been a fun experience but for the very high price it just wasn't worth it

The staff was very great and I loved the place I definitely going back I took my daughter there and she enjoy it as well very exciting place. Iwent there in the morning so there wasn't lots of people and also it wasn't a hotdayso wasawesome

Staff was great helpful, patient, and very attentive. especially the staff girl Melanie she made sure my group and I felt comfortable in doing all obstacle courses and would demonstrate when needed. She went above and beyond she deserves a raise.

This zip line is so fun! The people there are very nice. Even if you fall off the top, the line will catch you.

We took my boys here (ages 7 and 9) to do the ropes course, and my husband and I were so impressed. The employees were super helpful-- they trained the boys thoroughly ensuring they'd be safe and then they assisted them the entire time guiding them at their pace and comfort level. My boys had fun and grew in confidence. I couldn't recommend this place more.

We hope to encourage literacy and outdoor healthy lifestyles for our pacific northwest youth, what is read 4 adventure, r4a is a program for elementary schools in the pacific northwest. the program provides students who complete 8 hours of recreational reading in the month of march receive a free adventure experience ticket to one of our 3 locations. students get to select from activities like ropes course & ziplines, laser tag, climbing wall offered at one of our locations including: high trek adventures, game on nw, and high trek chelan. the program is available to schools in washington state at no cost to participate, and it's a great way to motivate kids to read and to be physically active. .

Stephen of Perm

Our father among the saints Stephen of Perm was a fourteenth-century Russian missionary who is known as the Enlightener of Perm and Apostle to the Zyrians for bringing Orthodox Christianity to the Zyriane (Komi) people. To facilitate his missionary activities, he developed an alphabet for the Komi (Permic) language. St. Stephen’s feast day is April 26 .

Stephen is believed to have been born in the town of Ustiug about 1340 into the family of Simeon, who was among the clergy of the Ustiug cathedral . According to church tradition his mother was a Komi woman. From childhood, Stephen showed great abilities and a zeal for the services of the Church. He learned to read the Holy Scriptures within a year and also served as a canonarch and reader .

At a young age Stephen entered the monastery of St Gregory the Theologian in Rostov, where he used its extensive library to increase his knowledge of Christianity, particularly in studying the Holy Scriptures and the Greek language. He learned Greek language so that he could read the Scriptures in their original language. He soon received monastic tonsure . Having grown up with the pagan Zyrian people, he became inspired to bring them to Christ. To do so, Stephen formulated a Zyrian (Permic) alphabet using Slavonic and Greek letters, since he wanted to bring Christ to them in their own language. He then translated a number of liturgical books using this Permic alphabet. At this time he was ordained to the rank of hierodeacon by Bp. Arsenius of Rostov.

In 1379, Hierodeacon Stephen traveled to Moscow to see Bp. Gerasimus of Kolomna to receive his permission to teach the Holy Faith to the people of Perm. The bishop agreed, ordained Stephen as a hieromonk , and provided him with an antimension , holy chrism , and service books. Thus prepared, Stephen began his mission among the Zariane, along the Vyahegda and Vym rivers.

For the next seventeen years as a missionary , Stephen worked with humility and kindness among the Zariane, bringing enlightenment to them. Slowly he was able to convert many of the Zyrians, but not without adversity. One pagan priest, Pam, was greatly influential in keeping many from baptism . In their debates, the pagan priest finally challenged Stephen to walk through fire and water as a test of whose faith was better. Not expecting Stephen to agree, Pam was taken aback when Stephen immediately directed the people to burn a building and offered his hand to Pam so that they could walk together through the fire. But Pam refused, even with urging by the Zyrians. The upset people were ready to kill Pam. Stephen intervened and insisted only that Pam be exiled forever. The result was that many Zyrians became Christians.

With the growing success of his mission Stephen was called in 1383 by Pimen, Metropolitan of all Russia, who consecrated him the first bishop of Perm. Stephen continued his mission , and as the number of converts grew he built churches and encouraged the opening of schools next to the churches. The schools taught the Holy Scriptures in the Permian language. Stephen supervised the curriculum, which prepared the students with what they needed to know to become deacons and priests . They were taught to use Stephen’s alphabet to both read and write. Many of these Zyrians became the clergy in the expanding network of churches. Stephen encouraged the Zyrians to establish a number of monasteries, including the Savior Ulianov Monastery in the wilderness and the Stephanov Monastery near Ust-Sysolsk, as well as the Ust-Vym and Yareng Archangel monasteries.

The success of Stephen’s mission in Vychegda Perm raised concern in Novgorod , which exercised control of tribute over the region. In 1385, a Novgorodian armed force sent to control the new civilization was fended off. The following year, 1386, Stephen visited the Archbishop of Novgorod, at which point Novgorod acknowledged the new missionary situation. These events were the forerunner to the shift of influence in northern Russia, in which control of the north and its wealth were to pass from Novgorod to Moscow.

A kinship developed between Stephen and Sergius of Radonezh . The intensity of this friendship is illustrated by an event in 1390, when Stephen traveled to Moscow and was not able to visit the Radonezh ascetic for lack of time. As Stephen was passing some distance from the monastery of St. Sergius, he faced in the direction of the monastery and bowing said quietly, “Peace to you, my spiritual brother.” Eating a meal with the brothers of the monastery, Sergius stood, said a prayer, and then bowed in the direction where Stephen was passing and responded, “Hail also to you, pastor of the flock of Christ, may the peace of God be with you.”

The interests of his flock remained in the forefront of his activities. In 1396, Stephen again traveled to Moscow concerning the affairs of the Zyrainians. There he became ill and died on April 26 , 1396. Although deeply lamented by his flock, his body was kept in Moscow and buried in the Kremlin. The place of his burial has been noted as either in the Church of the Transfiguration or the Spass na Boru Church of the Saviour at the Forest.

The process of glorification of Stephen began shortly after his death. By the early fifteenth century a Life of Stephen had been written. A service for him was written by the Hieromonk Pachomius the Serb. The Hieromonk Epiphanius the Wise , who was a disciple of St Sergius of Radonezh, wrote a Panegyric to Saint Stephen of Perm which praises Stephen for his evangelical activities.

Aflame with divine desire from childhood, thou didst take Christ’s yoke, O wise Stephen. Thou didst sow the seed in a hardened people grown old in unbelief and give birth to them in the Gospel. Venerating thee, we pray: Entreat Him Whom thou didst proclaim, that our souls may be saved.

Kontakion (Tone 8)

Thou wast found to be a hierarch to those who sought thee not. Thou didst free thy people from idols and bring them to the Faith of Christ. Thou didst shame the sorcerer Pansotnik and become first bishop and teacher of Perm. Wherefore thy people hymn thee with thanksgiving: Rejoice, wise teacher Stephen.

90 minutes of climbing in our 3 story ropes course structure and flying on our zip lines . Climb from 7' to 45' and everywhere in between to access 60 challenge elements, 2 zip lines, and a free-fall station. Gear up and orientation with High Trek staff makes this a 2 hour experience in total.

First Level Only Course (No Zipline)

Just on the first level at 7-11 feet above the ground, the junior portion of the course offers 20 different challenge elements. The outer ring on the first level of the course also features 8 elements with a safety line that is lower and easier for younger children to reach.

Adults must be present on the property. Adults have the option to purchase either a 1st Level or Standard Course ticket to accompany their child through the course.
