Trip to Five Jyotiling of Maharashtra from Hyderabad

Photo of Chandrasen Thorat

Bhimshanker and Trimbakeshwar

We started from BHEL Hyderabad on 13-04-2022 at 20:00. We were three families. We hired a Tempo traveller. Road is excellent with few speed breakers in Maharashtra. We reached Ghodegaon on the outskirts of Bhimashankar and took a hotel for freshening up Hotel Pruthvi (14-04-22 10:00)

Pruthvi Mangal Karyalay

He charged Rs 600/room and provided us with two rooms and one seperate bathroom. Rooms were clean, staff was good. Later we took breakfast at Hotel Gyandev near Junnar Phata and proceeded to Darshan at Bhimashankar.

While entering Bhimashankar, we paid village toll of 100 Rs. Parking at Bhimashankar was bit congested. Better to park outside rather than Parking area. Parking area is not clean and the charges are illogical. Darshan was excellent (13:30). You can touch idol.

Bhimashankar_jyotirlinga

You can remove your footwear at the stand provided at the entrance, don't give to flower vendor.

We moved from Bhimashankar to Trimbakeshwar and reached by 20:00, we took special darshan ticket of Rs. 200 each and avoided the queue.

From Trimbakeshwar, we travelled to Shirdi and stayed at Hotel Sai Pride Budget Hotel. Room rent was Rs. 2000. Rooms were good with Hot water and AC. Hotel provided us with extra bed without charge.

Sai Palace Budget Hotel

Shirdi and Grishneswar (15-04-2022)

We went to Shirdi darshan at 9:30 am, we booked VIP darshan. Better to leave your footwear in Hotel. Took breakfast in hotel outside temple complex and reached hotel by 11:00. From here we moved to Aurangabad (Hotel Ellora Crown), Took lunch and stayed here for overnight. Food here was OK. Hotel is not bad. We visited Ellora caves and Had Grishneswar Darshan in the evening.

PARLI Vaijnath mandir

Had Lunch in Hotel Aagrah (Ambience and food was excellent).

Hotel Aagrah Veg Resto Banquet

Started journey to Aundha Nagnath by 14:00. Reached Aundha Nagnath by 17:30, we got a good Pandit, he performed Rudra Abhishek for us. Charged Rs. 250 and Rs. 50 was temple receipt. By 19:00, we started out travel to Nanded. Reached Hotel Rain Forest by 21:00. Hotel was good, but we had problem with AC in 2 rooms out of 3. Because of AC problem, we could not get good sleep. This hotel does not provide food, we relied on local Hotel. Hotel Ishan, they served us with Excellent Idlies and Fried Rice. Food was tempting.

So my queries are:-

1. Will the drive be hactic from Hyd to Lonavala or any other place mentioned above in single day.

2. In places mentioned above which are the places we should must visit. Mahabaleshwar - Panchgani we are planning to do in some separate trip or should we include it in this trip itself.

3. For each place how much time should we spend. ( We want to do it in relaxed manner).

4. If somebody can make an itinerary like from Hyd which place should we go first and which place later.

5. Am I missing any must see place in the list then please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

1. My sense is that it is easily about 13-14 hours drive with breaks. So yes it is likely to be hectic. Beyond this it depends on your family and how well they are used to such long drives. Roads are not likely to be a major issue.

My suggestion for an itinerary would be as under

Day 2-4 - Lonvala / Khandala - if you are super enthu you could visit Lavasa for a short day trip. It has some basic water sports options

Imagica and Aquamagica cant be covered in a day so maybe you could spend a night there and do both and then move to Mumbai

Day 5-6 - Lonavala - Imagica / Aquamagica

Day 7 - Mumbai

Day 8 - 10 - Local sightseeing / Rest / Shopping

Day 11-12 - Matheran using the toy train from Nerul to Matheran

Day 13 - Matheran to Pune or somewhere ahead

Day 14 - Pune to Hyd

This is a basic itinerary - a lot can be added and changed but this seems reasonable to me.
