The guitarist has been busy on the road with Mötley Crüe

Next year, guitar virtuoso John 5 is returning to the road with his band The Creatures. The run begins on January 26, 2024, at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California and wraps up on March 1 at The Observatory North Park in San Diego, California. Surprise guests for the rest of the run will be revealed soon.

“I am really looking forward to see all of you monsters on the road,” John 5 said.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 11 at 10am EST HERE . VIP Soundcheck Meet and Greet passes are available for all shows HERE . Fellow guitar god Jared James Nichols will be performing at the first two stops of the tour, which take place during NAMM weekend.

John 5 is currently on the road touring with Mötley Crüe. He signed on to be the band’s new guitarist last October following the retirement of founding member Mick Mars. Mars, 71,  retired from touring due to his “ongoing painful struggle” with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.), a degenerative disease which affects the spine. John 5 was an obvious choice, given his history with the band. In 2019, John 5 co-wrote the songs “The Dirt,” “Crash and Burn,” and “Ride with the Devil” for the soundtrack to Netflix’s Mötley Crüe biopic  The Dirt .

John 5 is also very close with Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, whom he called his “best friend.” In a 2019 interview with  Outburn Magazine , John 5 said of Sixx,”We love each other. He has inspired me and taught me so much about life in general. He’s a phenomenal songwriter, lyricist, author, everything. He’s always telling me to listen to this audio book or see this movie. He has a happy marriage, a happy life, a successful band he started from the ground up. He’s one of the most inspiring people. He’ll text me all the time to read something or try something. It’s wonderful. He’s a phenomenal photographer as well. I remember him telling me that he’s going to take bass lessons again and get into playing with his fingers. He was so dedicated.”

John 5 recently  entered the studio  with Mötley Crüe and producer Bob Rock to begin recording new music.

Back in May, Fender announced a brand new John 5 signature guitar . The Limited Edition John 5 Ghost Telecaster® is the latest Fender artist signature guitar for John 5. Along with the ax, he revealed a special accessories collection that includes a white leather strap with red suede backing, a 10’ cable in arctic white with custom molded red ends and a six-pack of 351 celluloid picks featuring John 5’s logo and graphics.

“I’ve played Telecasters my whole life and getting to design my own is a dream come true,” said John 5. “When it came to design, I was inspired by some of Fender’s previous collaborations, but sought to create a model that would be both visually stunning and comfortable to play. Fender helped me design a Telecaster that was different from anything else on the market and the easy-to-play all-white fretboard and unique pickguard is proof of that. The leather strap and cable match the guitar’s white aesthetic and the pick visuals are absolutely killer!”

The guitarist is embarking on his first solo tour since joining Mötley Crüe

John 5 and the Creatures have announced an early 2024 US tour.

The trek kicks off on January 26th in Santa Ana, California, and will see the guitarist playing shows in Los Angeles, New York City, and Houston, in addition to smaller markets. The outing will conclude on March 1st in San Diego.

Tickets go on sale Friday, August 11th at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster . Alternatively, and for sold-out shows, you can pick up tickets on StubHub — where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.

John 5 Announces Summer U.S. Tour With Jared James Nichols + Black Satellite

Guitar virtuoso John 5 has just announced a summer headlining tour that will also feature Jared James Nichols and Black Satellite with Sarah Longfield jumping on the bill at three select stops.

With no tour dates on the books yet for this year with Rob Zombie , John 5's schedule is wide open, making it the opportune time to get back on the road after everyone was stuck at home last year amid a worldwide pandemic which shuttered the live events industry.

"I’ve always been excited to go on tour but this time it’s amplified by a million," said John 5 of the upcoming U.S. run.

"I can’t wait to see everybody’s faces and say hello to everybody coming out to the shows. I’m very excited to have Jared James Nichols, Black Satellite and Sarah Longfield joining us on this run. I’m sure we’re gonna have a great time," he added.

It's a real shredders delight regarding the top of the bill which finds blues rock ripper Jared James Nichols providing direct support to John 5. New York rock group Black Satellite will open most dates, which span from Aug. 10 through Sept. 3, and their second album,  Aftermath , is expected to be released later this year.

MARTY FRIEDMAN Added To Select Shows On JOHN 5's Early 2024 U.S. Tour

Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman will support John 5 on select dates on the MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist's upcoming early 2024 tour with his solo band THE CREATURES . Other support acts on the trek, which will kick off on January 26, 2024, at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California and wrap up on March 1, 2024 at The Observatory North Park in San Diego, California, are LILIAC , Jared James Nichols , Nikki Stringfield and VAN HALEN tribute act THE ATOMIC PUNKS .

John 5 has also added three new shows to the tour: February 16 in New Bedford, Massachusetts; February 17 in Rochester, New York; and February 18 in Sellersville, Pennsylvania.

Earlier today (Saturday, December 9), John 5 took to his social media to write: "Hey everyone, the tour is under two months away and I am excited to announce that Marty Friedman will join me on the Feb 21-28 shows and LILIAC will appear Feb 1-7. As previously announced Jared James Nichols and THE ATOMIC PUNKS will be on the LA and Santa Ana shows and Nikki Stringfield in Las Vegas.

For over 30 years, John 5 has been one of the most in-demand guitar players on the planet. As well as a songwriter/guitarist for hire, John 5 has shared the stage as axeman for ROB ZOMBIE , MARILYN MANSON and JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford . He has also worked with an impressive array of names, from all walks of music, including Steve Perry , KD Lang , Rod Stewart , David Lee Roth , Alice Cooper , Tina Guo , LYNYRD SKYNYRD , Meat Loaf , Ricky Martin and Steven Adler .

John 5 has worked with a varied range of artists, performing as guitarist for some of the biggest headlining rock bands in the world. Slash has called John 5 "one of the most mind-blowing guitarists around" and Rob Zombie has dubbed him "a fucking shredder". John 5 has released seven solo albums to date, as well as a remix album.

In 2015, following a series of web shows to celebrate the release of his solo album "Careful With That Axe" , John 5 decided to take his solo set on tour and formed THE CREATURES band to support his live shows. Initially joined by long-term friend Rodger Carter on drums, the band continues touring to this day, and now work as a unit on 5 's solo albums, including "Season Of The Witch" , the live album "It's Alive" , "Invasion" and 2021's "Sinner" .

In October 2022, it was revealed that John 5 would be joining MÖTLEY CRÜE as their guitarist following the announcement that Mick Mars would be retiring. John 5 recently spent time on the road with MÖTLEY CRÜE as part of "The World Tour" with DEF LEPPARD .

Watch John Fogerty and George Thorogood Recall Being “Gobsmacked” by Jimi Hendrix

J ohn Fogerty and George Thorogood, who will be touring together starting in June, share their mutual appreciation of late guitar legend Jimi Hendrix in a new video clip posted on both artists’ social media pages.

In the clip, Fogerty and Thorogood are captured chatting as they’re sitting next to each other on a stage.

“After I saw Jimi Hendrix, I picked up my guitar and never put it down,” Thorogood declared.

“That’s how I felt,” the founding Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman responded.

Added Thorogood, “Of course. What else was I gonna do?!”

Fogerty then talked about a famous performance by Hendrix that happened in October 1966. As the story goes, shortly after he relocated from the U.S. to the U.K., Hendrix attended a Cream concert and asked the band if he could jam with them. He then proceeded to blow everyone away with a performance of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor.”

“I never got to talk to Eric Clapton about that, but apparently when Jimi first hit England, he got onstage with Cream,” Fogerty noted. “Somebody finagled that to happen. And Jimi went right into ‘Killing Floor,’ and started playing behind his back and playing with his teeth and doing flips and everything else.”

Fogerty continued, “Cream was kind of busting out [at that time]. It was sort of the beginning of their debut. And [Eric] kind of went [dropping his jaw], ‘What?’”

Clapton Was “Gobsmacked” by Hendrix’s Performance

Clapton wrote about the incident in his 2007 autobiography, sharing that everyone there was “completely gobsmacked” by Hendrix’s performance.

“I remember thinking that here was a force to be reckoned with,” Clapton wrote. “It scared me, because he was clearly going to be a huge star, and just as we are finding our own speed, here was the real thing.”

Fogerty’s 2019 Hendrix Tribute

Interestingly, during Fogerty’s 2019 tour, he celebrated the 50th anniversary of Woodstock by including songs in his set that were performed by various artists at the historic festival. The shows featured a Hendrix-inspired instrumental rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” that was played by John’s son Shane.

Fogerty’s and Thorogood’s 2024 Tour Plans

As previously reported, Fogerty will soon launch a U.S. tour featuring George Thorogood and the Destroyers as his opening act. The trek kicks off June 2 in Simpsonville, South Carolina, and is mapped out through a September 1 show in Santa Barbara, California.

Fogerty also will play a series of European gigs in July. In addition, he has a few late-summer U.S. performances lined up without Thorogood and his band.

A Las Vegas residency and a handful of festival headlining gigs wasn’t enough for Maroon 5 this year.

From June 21 through July 3 — sandwiched in between residency and festival dates — Adam Levine and co. are striking out on a mini seven-concert tour with special guest Maren Morris .

Along the way, the “Moves Like Jagger” group are slated to stop into Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on Saturday, June 29 and Wantagh, NY’s Jones Beach Theater on Wednesday, July 3.

As of Friday, April 12, tickets are available for all recently announced East Coast shows.

Some are quite affordable, too.

At the time of publication, we found seats going for as low as $51 before fees on Vivid Seats.

On and off from May through October, Maroon 5 will bring their ‘M5LV The Residency’ to Las Vegas’ Dolby Live at Park MGM.

Maroon 5 new music

In 2023, Maroon 5 dropped just one single.

“Middle Ground,” an earnest ballad, can be heard  here .

As for their next album, Levine said it’s on the way.

“We’re always working on music, but there’s some stuff we’re working on now that we’re absolutely in love with,” he shared with People. “At this point, we don’t want to release anything until we’re happy.”

Maroon 5, John Fogerty announce summer Pine Knob concerts

Maroon 5 will take a quick break from its Las Vegas residency for a night at Pine Knob Music Theatre on June 21.

The pop-rock hitmakers will be joined by country star Maren Morris for the one-off concert event, which will fall amid Maroon 5’s run of shows from May through October at the Park MGM in Vegas.

Tickets for the Pine Knob show by Adam Levine and company will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster. A presale for Citi card holders will start at noon Tuesday through citientertainment.com.

Also announced Monday was an Aug. 4 Pine Knob from John Fogerty, joined by George Thorogood & the Destroyers as opener.

Also on that bill is the rock band Hearty Har, led by Shane Fogerty and Tyler Fogerty, sons of the ex-Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman. The Pine Knob show is part the summer-long Celebration Tour.

Tickets for Fogerty’s Pine Knob stop will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster.
