Empowering the women of tomorrow, veena world women are creating the future — and you can too..

Taking a break from work is indeed a double-edged sword! While it can be liberating on one hand, on the other, it can be equally daunting. It all depends on one’s perspective and the set of circumstances one finds oneself in. We see many women taking a career break for various reasons. Most of them look forward to resume back soon, but not all are able to keep their resolution.

Having said this, getting back to work can come with its own set of challenges. What tops the list of the hurdles is the lack of self-confidence to start all over again and the notion that their skills & knowledge aren’t updated enough to make it big in this rapidly-changing job scenario. Also, a long break is difficult to account for on the resume.

But we at Veena World can well empathize with this turning point in a woman’s life and would like to help them break the ice. We are looking for women who have been on such a career break, and are between the age group of 30 to 40 years, with good communication skills and have still taken efforts to keep their knowledge updated whilst looking after their family and now aim to return to their career. We feel, the flexi office-hours at Veena World could help them strike a work-home balance.

If you are one of them, email your resume to [email protected]. Your resume would be screened and if found to be potential for any of the openings that we have, you will be called for a personal round of interview with a prior appointment. Let’s look forward to a better life, a fulfilling life!

Scottie scheffler’s pga tour dominance continues with 2024 rbc heritage victory.

Scottie Scheffler reacts after a putt on the ninth hole during the final round of the RBC Heritage ... [+] golf tournament, Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Hilton Head Island, S.C. (AP Photo/Chris Carlson)

The world’s top-ranked golfer is dominating the PGA Tour. Scottie Scheffler won the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Monday morning following a weather delay and restart late Sunday—his fourth win in his last five starts. He added a tartan plaid jacket to his second green jacket at The Masters , which followed wins at The Players Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational .

Scheffler carded an 8 under par 63 on Saturday to take a 1-stroke lead over Sepp Straka and 2 strokes ahead of his final round playing partner at The Masters, Collin Morikwa. Both those players shot a 1 over par 72 in the final round to fall back.

Scheffler entered Sunday’s final round as the -165 favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook to win the tournament with Straka and Morikawa both +650 and Masters runner-up Ludvig Aberg +1100 sitting 3 shots behind. Scottie was +450 to win at the start of the RBC Heritage .

Golf’s 27-year-old superstar was 3 under par through 11 holes Sunday and 19 under par with a 4-shot lead over six players when play was suspended before resuming 2 1/2 hours later at 7 p.m. ET. Scheffler played three more holes and took a 5-stroke lead into Sunday evening as play was suspended for darkness.

Early Monday he finished off the $20 million signature event with a 3-shot victory at 19 under par to earn another $3.6 million and take his season total to over $18 million. His bogey on the 18th hole ended a streak of 68 consecutive holes at par or better. Sahith Theegala finished second while Patrick Cantlay and Wyndham Clark T3 and Justin Thomas part of a 4-way tie for fifth.

Billionaire Mark Cuban Issues Post Halving Bitcoin Warning Amid Unprecedented Crypto Fee Price Chaos

Justin Ray, golf Lead Data Analyst, added a number of posts on X to show Scheffler’s run of dominance. Beyond Scottie being the last player since Tiger Woods in 2008 to win four times in a five-start stretch on the PGA Tour, this post about Scheffler holding the lead following a round 31 times on Tour the past three seasons speaks to Scottie’s spectacular play and dominance. The next closest player to have led or co-led following a round is 16 times.

Scheffler ramains the No. 1 ranked player in the Official World Golf Rankings for the 49th consecutive week. His win at Harbour Town was also the 10th of his career on Tour. It took him 51 tournaments to win his 10th PGA Tour title following his first win. Tiger Woods did it in 59 events with David Duval the fastest from wins 1 to 10 at 33 starts.

Scheffler’s strokes gained stats are simply staggering. Scheffler ranks No. 1 in SG: Total, Tee to Green, Approach, No. 2 Off the Tee and top-10 Around the Green. He’s continued to win despite ranking outside the top 150 in SG: Putting. Scheffler gained more than a stroke both off the tee and on approach shots in his first three rounds at Harbour Town. He has done this in 27.2% of his rounds over the last three seasons. The rest of the PGA Tour has done it 4.7% of the time.

Scheffler then finished off another victory with a strong performance on Sunday at Harbour Town that included this chip-in for eagle from 53 feet off the front right short rough on the Par 5 at hole No. 2.

He’s now played 40 rounds in 2024 and has yet to shoot a round over par. It’s 44 in a row dating back to last year’s Tour Championship in August. Tiger Woods currently holds the Tour record at 52 rounds shooting par or better, which he set during the 2000-01 season.

Scheffler’s desire to win and determination to be the best is shining through despite any pressure that may mount. He’s nearly locked up 2024 PGA Tour Player of the Year honors before the end of April, and commented on his play and performances following rounds 3 and 4 while dealing with any added pressure.

Internally, do you feel less pressure compared to a few months ago when you're out there playing?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It's tough to answer. I mean, I talked about it a bit at the end of last week. I really love winning, and I don't really like losing at all. It's one of those things where I try to manage the expectations of myself, kind of get that stuff out of the way and then go out there and compete.

Scheffler also added 700 FedEx Cup Playoffs Points to his total by winning the Signature Event at the RBC Heritage. He tops the points list with 3,915 - more than double Wyndham Clark with Ludvig Aberg and Xander Schauffele next at more than 1,500 points.

Scheffler is scheduled to compete in the Wells Fargo Championship May 9-12 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC - another $20 million Signature Event. He should be a first-time father by then with wife Meredith expecting their child very soon.

“I definitely will enjoy the birth of my first child, and my priorities will change very soon, so golf will be fourth in line, but I still love competing,” he said last Sunday in the Butler Cabin at The Masters .

He competed at the highest level again without a letdown to win the RBC Heritage. Scheffler will enter the next major as the +450 favorite at the PGA Championship May 16-19 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY. FanDuel Sportsbook also has Scheffler at +6500 odds to win the Grand Slam and all four majors this year.

Scottie Scheffler is showing no signs of letdown and fans and bettors continue to support him despite ultra-low odds to win not seen since Tiger Wood’s dominance.

You can bet on it.

Nelly korda wins second major – and record-tying fifth lpga title in a row – at 2024 chevron championship, share this article.

kesari tour career

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A bald eagle circled the sky to the right of the fourth tee box on Sunday as Nelly Korda continued her march toward history. A powerful American player hasn’t dominated the LPGA since Beth Daniel in the early ’90s. The last time an American won five consecutive starts: Nancy Lopez in 1978.

It’s no wonder LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan strolled inside the ropes on Sunday afternoon at the Club at Carlton Woods, marveling at one of the best crowds the tour has seen in years.

“This is a gigantic moment for us,” said the commish.

Korda’s gutsy and stylish victory at the Chevron Championship signals a new era in the women’s game, one golf hoped would come with Michelle Wie West or Paula Creamer or Lexi Thompson. None of them rose to No. 1, let alone claimed two majors or went on a hot streak the likes of which only five players in the history of golf have ever done.

Korda, 25, now owns 13 career titles, tying current Solheim Cup captain Stacy Lewis, who did win two majors and rise to No. 1, though she shared the stage with a major-winning machine in Inbee Park.

“It’s everything that I’ve always wanted as a little girl, to lift that major trophy,” said Korda, noting that she felt sick to her stomach after the longest back nine of her life.

Korda returned to the course Sunday morning before the sun rose, with the wind up, temperatures 30 degrees lower and a marathon day ahead. She started with a 3-foot putt on the 12th hole and grinded out a series of pars on the back nine to finish Round 3 one back of South Korea’s Hae Ran Ryu and retreated to put her feet up.

Rest has played a vital role in Korda’s rise. It started with a seven-week break that followed her first victory in her hometown of Bradenton, Florida. After three victories in as many weeks, Korda enjoyed a week off during Masters week and didn’t leave the house for two days as she snuggled with older sister Jessica’s infant son Greyson for contact naps and tried to block out the world.

NELLY KORDA : Celebration photos | Where her win streak ranks

On Sunday, she had a two-hour break between rounds before returning to the range to warm up with her tight-knit entourage of physio, caddie, agent and instructor. She took time to sign autographs and take selfies before heading to the first tee.

When it comes to winning streaks in golf, Byron Nelson leads the way with a mind-blowing 11 in 1945. Tiger Woods won seven straight starts between the 2006-07 seasons and both Ben Hogan (1948) and Woods (1999-2000) each won six consecutive. Woods also had a streak end at five in 2008.

Early on in Sunday’s final round, it felt like Brooke Henderson was the most likely spoiler to Korda’s run. A thinned chip shot on the fourth hole just off the right side of the green, however, ran into a greenside bunker and the winningest Canadian golfer in history needed two swings to get out. The resulting double bogey came as Korda made a second consecutive birdie.

To her credit, Henderson birdied the next two holes to get back in it. But a chip-in birdie from Korda on No. 10 stretched her lead to four, and it suddenly felt all but inevitable.

OFF THE FLAGSTICK! 💥 @NellyKorda nearly aces the 17th hole at the @Chevron_Golf ! 🤯 pic.twitter.com/Wr6OepdVpb — LPGA (@LPGA) April 21, 2024

The biggest question at that point was whether or not Korda would actually take a chilly dip into the murky pond that surrounds the 18th.

Lauren Coughlin, a journeywoman whose husband recently quit his job as a fundraiser at the University of Virginia to travel the world with her, was within two of Korda with three to play but rattled off bogeys on the 16th and 17th to fall back to a share of third.

Sweden’s Maja Stark had a run of her own down the last, but back-to-back birdies on the closing two holes weren’t enough to thwart Korda, who hit three spectacular shots down the stretch , including a near ace off the flagstick on the 17th, to seal her second major title with a fourth consecutive round in the 60s and a 13-under total.

Tournament officials threw teddy bears to the little girls who’d lined up by the 18th green to watch their hero, chanting her name.

During the trophy presentation, Korda’s team began taking off their shoes to prepare for the celebratory jump. Korda got at the back of the line as they lined up on the dock, led by physio Kim Baughman, agent Chris Mullhaupt, instructor Jamie Mulligan and caddie Jason McDede. Korda went in last, pulling her knees in tight for the cannonball of her life.

2024 Chevron Championship

“Everyone was talking about creating history,” said Korda’s father Petr, who stayed dry under the scoreboard, “and to do that under this pressure.”

Well, as he said, it was nothing short of phenomenal.

After the cold plunge, the woman who is on a heater of historic proportions clutched a portable heater as she answered questions from the press. She talked about the doubt that crept in after a monster 2021 season that saw her win a major and an Olympic gold medal.

“I heard some outside voices from other people saying that they don’t know if I’ll ever be able to win another major again,” said Korda.

A number of injuries, including a terrifying blood clot that required surgery, held her back in recent years, but she doubled down on the hard work and leaned into a team that feeds off the positivity of Mulligan.

McDede has been on Korda’s bag since she started winning in 2018 and calls Mulligan a father figure to him, noting that aura that surrounds the California instructor.

“We spend a lot of time on the phone together,” said McDede. “He’s always there for you. He’s always got a story to tell you, but then when he looks at you to be locked in, then you’re locked in.”

Korda called McDede her punching bag, her best friend and her teammate. She credited him with keeping her in the moment during a brutally long six-hour round.

The first LPGA player Mulligan ever coached was childhood friend Amy Alcott, the first player who ever jumped in the pond at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, California, starting a tradition that became part of the lore of winning what once was known as the Dinah Shore and last year moved her to Texas. The LPGA Hall of Famer sent a text to Mulligan this morning, and they now share piece of LPGA history.

Mulligan doesn’t believe Korda has changed much during the streak, but more slipped deeper into the system they’ve built.

Korda confirmed that she’ll play next week at the JM Eagle LA Championship at Wilshire Country Club, where she’ll try to become the first LPGA player to win six consecutive starts.

The week ended with a similar question Korda fielded at the start: How can this run elevate the tour?

“It’s a stage,” said Korda. “We need a stage.”

Even though final-round action went well past NBC’s scheduled three-hour window, the network continued Chevron coverage until the finish, buoyed by the fact that Scottie Scheffler’s run at the RBC Heritage was on hold due to weather.

“I think all of the stars were aligned for today,” said Marcoux Samaan.

Long live the Nelly Era.

Nelly Korda Makes It Five in a Row With LPGA Major Title at the Chevron

The world No. 1 won her second career major and joins Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam as winners of five straight events.

  • Author: John Schwarb

Make it five in a row for Nelly Korda. With a major exclamation point.

The world No. 1 won the Chevron Championship with a final-round 69 at the Club at Carlton Woods, securing the first LPGA major of the year by two shots and extending the longest win streak in the sport.

Korda, 25, has won five consecutive starts on the LPGA Tour, a feat not achieved since Annika Sorenstam did it in 2004-05 and Nancy Lopez in 1978. And like Sorenstam, Korda bagged a major for win No. 5.

“I can finally breathe now,” she said, before taking the winner's traditional leap into a greenside pond. “That was like the longest back nine of my entire life.”

Jumping into the history books with a cannon ball 💣 @NellyKorda | @Chevron_Golf pic.twitter.com/xcEIQ9FLWD — LPGA (@LPGA) April 21, 2024

Korda plays fast but this major championship Sunday was far from it, and a four-shot lead at the start of the back nine eventually was whittled to one after Maja Stark, playing one group ahead, nearly eagled the par-5 18th but birdied to get to 11 under.

The winning margin was two after Korda poured in a birdie of her own.

“There’s a key in the simplicity I play … sometimes golf can get overcomplicated,” said Korda, whose lucky number is 13 and the Chevron title was her 13th on the LPGA Tour.

It’s been pretty simple for her since late January, when she won the LPGA Drive On Championship in Florida. Then, after sitting out the Tour’s three-event Asian swing, Korda won three times in three consecutive weeks in California, Arizona and Nevada, finally getting a week off last week. She said she didn’t leave her house for the first two days.

But once back at work, she remained focused with the chance to add a second major to her resume. Korda won the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship and her best major finish since had been a third at last year's Chevron.

More rest will have to wait. She’s in the field for next week’s JM Eagle LA Championship at Wilshire Country Club, where a year ago she finished T6 and two shots out of a playoff. Now she’ll be looking for a record sixth straight win.

Kevin Hart's journey from stand-up comedy sets in bowling alleys to global tours

By Anderson Cooper , Aliza Chasan , Nichole Marks, John Gallen

April 21, 2024 / 7:00 PM EDT / CBS News

Kevin Hart, now one of the most successful comics out there, struggled to find places to perform when he first started out as a stand-up comedian, so he picked some very unexpected venues.

The 44-year-old entertainer took gigs wherever he could get them: bowling alleys, cabarets and strip clubs. He doesn't "know who thought that comedy and strippers mix," but a strip club performance led to one of the most heartbreaking moments of his career on stage. Hart remembers hearing a woman say, "Oh, baby" during his set.

"[She was] so disgusted and heartbroken that this is what I chose to do with my life," Hart said.

But things turned around for him. Hart is the highest-grossing comedian today. His last comedy tour made grossed more than $122 million and, last month, he was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor — as close to a lifetime achievement award as you can get.

Becoming a comedian

Hart has always been confident, friends said. Comedian Na'im Lynn, who's known Hart since Kevin was a teenager, didn't get it at first.

"I mean, it was perplexing in the beginning," Lynn said. "Like, 'Why does this little ugly dude have this much confidence?'"

Hart grew up in a rough neighborhood in North Philadelphia. Home movies made by his mom, Nancy Hart, show he was always the family entertainer. Hart lived in a in a one-bedroom apartment with his brother and mom, who kept a close eye on him.

Kevin Hart

She planned every moment of his day, making sure he went to swim practice and did his school work, even quizzing him to make sure he didn't rush through his assignments. Hart credits her with his drive.

Nancy Hart also kept Hart's dad, Henry Witherspoon, at a distance. Witherspoon was in and out of prison. He was addicted to drugs, which Hart talked about in a 2011 stand-up special called "Laugh at my Pain." Hart describes his dad showing up at spelling bees and debates and treating them as if they were athletic events.

"First of all, you can't cheer for no kid at a spelling bee. It's a spelling bee. It's quiet, I'm focused. I'm in the middle of spelling a very difficult word," Hart said during the special. "My dad shows up late. Busts through the back door high as hell making cokehead noises, alright. Once again, I cannot make this up. Aright, this is all I heard. I'm in the middle of spelling some s–t. Out of nowhere all I heard was: 'Alright, alright, alright. Yeah!'"

The details are heartbreaking, but Hart finds the humor in it.

"I see it for what it was," he said. "But as a kid, that's dad."

Hart's path to success

For a long time, Hart struggled to make it big.

Hart had to contend with the sound of pins being knocked over during his early performances at bowling alleys. He would start jokes over if someone bowled a strike while he was telling a punchline.

Having a strong drive is a huge portion of making it as a comic, Hart said. Comedians who can't get gigs on actual stages need to create their own wherever they can perform.

"It's one of the most hustled entities that exists today," Hart said.

  • Kevin Hart's daughter on her dad's embarrassing jokes

He thought he'd made it when he shot a sitcom for ABC called "The Big House" in 2003. The network flew him out to what's known as the Upfronts to present the show to advertisers and the media. As he waited backstage, the "guy with the microphone" who was directing everyone told Hart his show wasn't being picked up. No one from the network told him — just "a guy named Barry in the back, holding the curtain."

That rejection pushed Hart. He didn't want his career determined by people he didn't know.

"I might be sitting here all day if I don't go grab it and I don't go make what I feel should be mine," Hart said.

Kevin Hart and Anderson Cooper

And that's what he did. He started a small production company, now called Hartbeat, and began developing his own stand-up specials. Hart also marketed himself relentlessly through social media — and Hollywood studios took notice, hiring him for a slew of movies.

From highpoint to controversy

When Hart was picked in 2018 to host the Oscars , it seemed like a highpoint in his career.

"I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time. ... To be able to join the legendary list of host[s] that have graced this stage is unbelievable," Hart wrote on his Instagram at the time. "I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now."

But then comments he made about LGBTQ+ individuals years earlier onstage and on Twitter caused controversy.

Hart stepped down as the Oscars host. He initially didn't apologize for his comments, but then posted an apology the next day on Twitter.

Hart said he spoke with comedian Wanda Sykes and said she explained to him that there were people hurting because of comments like the ones he'd made.

"It was presented to me in a way where I couldn't ignore that," Hart said. "So in those moments of despair, great understanding and education can come out of it if you're given the opportunity."

Bouncing back and developing material for an upcoming tour

Hart has since bounced back. He seems to be constantly in motion, starting with a daily pre-dawn workout. Hart owns a nutrition supplement company. He's also got a fast-food chain, a tequila brand and a $100 million venture capital fund. His entertainment company, Hartbeat, is now worth more than $650 million.

"I'm no longer just the comedian. I'm an investment. I'm a studio," Hart said. "I'm a partner looking for partnerships. Work for hire is not in my best interest if it's a one and done situation."

Kevin Hart and Anderson Cooper work out

He's also working on new material for an upcoming comedy tour called "Acting My Age." He doesn't work with his team in a room to develop his ideas; Hart takes them to small comedy clubs to try them out. Friends and collaborators Harry Ratchford and Joey Wells act as his writing consultants.

Hart doesn't write down his material, instead sticking to bullet points on his phone. He said he wants to make sure the story he's telling is understandable and focused on relationships, friends and aging.

"All things that, no matter where you are and who you are, you can go, 'Aha,'" Hart said.

60 Minutes correspondent Anderson Cooper watched Kevin Hart work out his notes on stage in front of 3,000 people in Pasadena, California. Everyone had to hand over their phones so the material wouldn't leak.

"Like 90% of what I'm going to do tonight I feel like is really good," Hart explained to the audience. "The reason why I took your phones is because of the other 10%. Right? Like just in case. Just in case some of it's not, you don't have no proof."

Wells and Ratchford took notes as Hart performed. Ratchford focuses on structure, where jokes should go in the set, Wells said. Wells focuses on how to make Hart's set just a little bit funnier.

"He might get a standing ovation. I'd go 'That was great. That was great. What if you tried this?'" Wells said.

Hart's sets include embarrassingly revealing stories about his wife and four kids, his insecurities and his many shortcomings.

"It's talking about the things that you aren't afraid to laugh at about yourself," Hart said. "I'm really confident that the laugh that I'm getting, you're not laughing necessarily at me, as if I'm a joke. You're laughing at the experience."

Anderson Cooper, anchor of CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360," has contributed to 60 Minutes since 2006. His exceptional reporting on big news events has earned Cooper a reputation as one of television's preeminent newsmen.

Scottie Scheffler holds massive 5-shot lead as RBC Heritage is called for darkness, set for Monday finish

Scottie Scheffler will have to wait.

Scheffler, who is just a week removed from his second career win at the Masters , came close to picking up his second straight PGA Tour win on Sunday afternoon. Scheffler held a massive five-shot lead over the field when play was called due to darkness at Harbour Town on Sunday night. Scheffler has just three holes to go to close out the RBC Heritage.

While much of the field got their rounds done, Scheffler will head back out to the 16th tee box at 8 a.m. to wrap up his final round. Either way, his win at the RBC Heritage is all but sealed up.

Scheffler entered Saturday's round in South Carolina three shots off the lead, but he quickly jumped to the top of the leaderboard just seven holes later. He finished his third round with a bogey-free 63, which gave him a one-shot advantage heading into Sunday.

While Wyndham Clark put a bit of pressure on Scheffler early on Sunday — Clark posted a 29 on his front nine with five birdies and an eagle, and then finished his final round 65 to get to 15-under on the week — Scheffler didn't miss a step. He chipped in for eagle at the second to immediately get under par for his round, and then took a three-shot lead at the turn. Scheffler pushed that lead to four shots when play was called for more than two hours due to weather.

Scheffler made one last birdie before play was called for the night on Sunday, and he sank a clutch par putt on the 15th green after hitting it into the water earlier on the hole to maintain his lead after the horn had sounded.

Clark was the only golfer at 15-under to finish for the day. Patrick Cantlay, J.T. Poston and Sahith Theegala are all in a tie with him at second with a few holes to go. Justin Thomas is in a tie for sixth, though he's done with his tournament. Ludvig Aberg — who finished in second last week at Augusta National — and Patrick Rodgers are both with Thomas at 14-under on the week. They'll finish up on Monday morning, too.

Assuming Scheffler can win on Monday morning, it will mark his 10th career victory on the PGA Tour. He'll be the third-fastest to hit that mark behind only Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Scheffler will enter a 49th consecutive week at No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings on Monday morning regardless of the finish.

Scheffler will be just the third Masters winner to win the following week on Tour if he can close out the win, and the first since Bernhard Langer did so in 1985. Gary Player was the first to pull that off in 1978. Scheffler will also be the first major championship winner to win the following week on Tour since Woods in 2006.

2024 Corales Puntacana Championship prize money payouts for each PGA Tour player

It wasn’t a big-money signature event like this week’s RBC Heritage was but, there was still $4 million on the line at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship, with $720,000 going to the winner.

And the winner was Billy Horschel , who now has eight wins in his PGA Tour career. The second opposite-field event also had 300 FedEx Cup points on the line for the victor.

Wesley Bryan pocketed $436,00 for his solo second. Kevin Tway banked $276,000 for his solo third.

Mysteries of the 2024 NFL Draft, grading past first-round QBs | Zero Blitz

Jason Fitz and Frank Schwab join forces to get their final thoughts on the 2024 NFL Draft in before it all kicks off on Thursday night. The duo start with the Denver Broncos' new uniforms and Fitz' strong thoughts on Arena football. There's a lot of hype around the quarterbacks in this year's draft, but Fitz and Frank provide a reality check by grading every first-round quarterback selected between 2018 and 2022, assigning only 3 As and 7 Fs (and having a very real conversation around Justin Herbert's grade). There are still a few big question marks in this year's draft that will have big ramifications, so Fitz and Frank go detective mode and discuss what the Washington Commanders will do at 2, the New England Patriots at 3, whether or not Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix will make it past Denver, the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders in the middle of the first round and if the Dallas Cowboys will make a move to address their biggest hole.
