6 Best Portable Bottle Warmers, Tested by a Nursing Mom

profile picture of Christine Carpenter

In a nutshell: Based on hands-on product testing and extensive market research, we chose the Baby’s Brew 3.0 Portable Bottle Warmer as the overall best. This option stood out because of its compact, lightweight design, temperature controls and ability to heat a baby bottle quickly and efficiently on the go.

Whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, there may come a time when you need to warm some milk for baby on the go—and whether it’s a family vacation or a day trip to grandma’s, we all know babies don’t exactly like to be kept waiting! That’s where a portable bottle warmer comes in.

Portable bottle warmers come in several varieties; some work via heat induction, others by keeping hot water in a thermos for later use. They can be powered by rechargeable batteries, wall sockets, or even no electricity at all. As a mom of two little boys (including a hungry 10-month-old), I need a quick, efficient, bottle warmer that’s easy to use and can heat the supplemental breast milk I provide for my baby. Even as a stay-at-home mom and freelance writer whose work is primarily in the home, I love the freedom of travel-friendly options for day trips. Bonus points if I can throw it in my already jam-packed diaper bag . How We Tested and Chose the Portable Bottle Warmers

portable travel bottle warmer target

Two things that don’t mix? A hungry baby and traveling. Fortunately, a portable bottle warmer can help you out in a pinch. To help you find the best portable bottle warmers on the market today, The Bump editorial team and I took the following steps:

  • I personally put eight portable bottle warmers to the test. I followed the assembly instructions and user guides supplied with the portable bottle warmers. I then heated my breast milk per each product’s instruction manual. I also tested any additional features; such as sanitizing pacifiers or heating baby food. After using each device, I cleaned the portable bottle warmers as directed. All this to determine which product is best for busy parents on the go.
  • After completing the steps above, I evaluated the portable bottle warmers based on the following criteria: assembly, portability, temperature controls, speed and additional features. From there each model received a score out of 10, with 1 being the worst possible score and 10 being the best.
  • As part of our research, we consulted guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the proper storage and preparation of breast milk.
  • To see how these portable bottle warmers worked for a variety of families, we conducted exhaustive market research, scouring forums and message boards and reading user reviews to find out what parents across the country looked for in this type of device.

Baby's Brew Bottle Warmer with 4 Adapters

  • Fits in a cup holder
  • Fits 38 bottle brands
  • Slow heat technology ensures no hotspots
  • Only comes with one silicone ring, which can easily be misplaced

Baby’s Brew 3.0 Portable Bottle Warmer checks all the boxes for the best portable bottle warmer for breast milk or formula. It’s compact, lightweight and, best of all, efficient. The instructions for use are printed right on the outside of the box, making it easy to warm up a bottle right away. The device is compatible with 20 baby bottle brands, including the Philips Avent Natural bottles I use to feed my son supplemental breast milk. But I was impressed by the fact that it came with four adapters that accommodate 18 different brands, including both wide and narrow-neck bottles. The bottle screwed directly into the warmer easily and securely, without any leaking.

I love the heat settings on the Baby's Brew warmer. The four set temperatures are 80 F, 98 F, 103 F and 110 F, and the controls are super-easy to operate. There’s a single button at the base of the device, which you press and hold to turn it on or off, while quick presses let you adjust the temperature setting. Since breast milk touches the warmer, it needs to be cleaned after every use. However, it’s so simple to clean with either a breast pump wipe or a damp cloth, that I didn't find this to be a problem.

The compact size of this portable bottle warmer is also worth mentioning—it’s small enough to fit in a cup holder! Although it doesn’t come with a carry bag, I packed the Baby’s Brew warmer in my sling handbag and my diaper bag without adding any extra bulk. I also like that the cord was compatible with my iPhone 15 charger (C charger), making it so convenient to charge in the car or at home.

This handy little appliance came in clutch on a day trip to our local farm for an Easter egg hunt with my family. I had a bottle of pumped breast milk in a travel cooler bag and I simply screwed it into the warmer. Within a little over three minutes, my son’s bottle was warmed to a perfect body temperature of 98 degrees. There were no hot spots, and the milk warmed evenly and he took his bottle (very happily!) right away.

Dimensions: 7" (L) x 7" (W) x 3" (H) | Weight: 1.76 lbs | Auto shut-off: Yes

Our product tester says: “Baby's Brew 3.0 Portable Bottle Warmer Pro has everything you would want in a baby bottle warmer. It fits right into the car cup holder while warming, it’s easily transported in a diaper bag and it warms baby's bottle to the perfect temperature. I would definitely recommend it to both a formula feeding and breastfeeding mom!”

Best bottle warmer for breast milk

Portable Bottle and Breastmilk Warmer

  • Sleek design
  • Countdown timer
  • Steady warm setting preserves breast milk nutrients
  • Water level can be difficult to see
  • Better for use at a destination than on-the-go

This device is unique in that it features two different warming methods that ensure baby’s meal is the perfect temperature every time. The “quick warm” setting uses steam heat for formula bottles and baby food, while the “steady warm” setting uses a water bath to gently warm breast milk, all while preserving essential milk proteins. It’s worth noting that many bottle warmers on the market exclusively use steam heat, which can heat breast milk too quickly, causing hot spots, overheating and a loss of nutrients. Due to the precise settings, I would not be concerned about burning or damaging precious breast milk nutrients with this warmer.

Before I got started, I had to pour enough water into the bottle warmer so that it matched the milk level of the bottle. While the warmer came with a measuring vial, I did need a pitcher to effectively add the correct amount of water. Once this step was completed, I pressed the “cold” button (since my breast milk came out of the fridge), and then hit “steady warm" to begin the warming cycle. In total, it took 4 minutes to heat my baby's 4 ounce bottle using this setting. While this bottle warmer takes a bit longer than some of the less expensive steam heat options, I felt that the steady warm temperature setting was gentle and did not overheat my breastmilk.

One of my favorite features is the countdown timer which indicates how much time is left until my baby’s bottle is ready. Upon completion, the device makes a beeping sound and automatically shuts off for safety. I also love that there is a defrost setting, especially when my baby is hungry and my husband needs to quickly prepare some frozen breast milk. While it’s incredibly lightweight, this model is larger than other travel bottle warmers and has to be plugged at the mains. While it wouldn’t fit in a cup holder or my diaper bag, I would pack it for day trips and extended stays because of its many great features.

Dimensions: 11.5" (H) x 5.5" (W) x 6.5" (D) | Weight: 3 lbs. | Auto shut-off: Yes

Our product tester says: “At around $60, this warmer is well worth the price. It packs a bunch of great features. I love that it is a lightweight option, with plenty of up-to-date technology. I would buy this warmer for myself or another mom!”

Best smart portable bottle warmer

NutriSmart Bottle Warmer

  • Car adapter
  • Timer for automatic warming
  • Rapid steam mode heats a bottle in 80 seconds
  • No carry bag
  • Doesn’t fit in a cup holder
  • Instructions were a little confusing

This travel-friendly bottle warmer features the word “smart” in the title—with good reason. The warmer detects the temperature of baby’s bottle and automatically determines the optimal heating times for your baby’s milk. Talk about a game-changer!

It’s a relatively lightweight bottle warmer, but it doesn’t fit into a cup holder or diaper bag, so a purpose-built carry bag for the warmer and cables would have been a nice addition. With that said, it does come complete with a car AC port, so you can charge it on the move making it a great option for road trips. And although you do have to add water, this bottle warmer didn’t leak, which is a huge plus.

Another fantastic feature was the delayed warming feature. My baby wakes up around midnight every night, so I was able to program the warmer to automatically begin warming at that time. I also love that with the “keep warm” function, I can heat a bottle and then heat a baby food jar and keep it warm (98.6 degrees) for up to one hour. This feature is perfect for my happy little eater who looks for food about a half hour after his bottle feed!

Dimensions: 7" (L) x 5.5" (W) X 3” (D) | Weight: 2 lbs. | Auto shut-off: Yes

Our product tester says: “The bottle was heated to perfection as it automatically adjusts the warming time to achieve an optimal temperature. The milk was warmed evenly and without any hot spots.”

Best fast-acting portable bottle warmer

Momcozy Portable Bottle Warmer, Safety Material Baby Bottle Warmer for Travel with 5 Connectors

  • Long battery life
  • Heats milk in 2 to 3 minutes
  • Silicone rings need to be very secure or the bottle will leak
  • Must be used with an adapter

Need a warm bottle for baby in a flash? Enter Momcozy Cordless Portable Baby Bottle Warmer. The bottle warmer charges lightning fast and requires no water for use, so it’s ready to go right out of the box.

The controls—which can be set to Fahrenheit or Celsius—are simple to operate and offer six different temperature settings. I heated my baby’s supplemental 1.5 ounce bottle in two minutes flat, while a 3.5 ounce bottle only took about three minutes. I was so impressed with how quickly this warmer achieved the optimal temperature. While other compact bottle warmers can take up to ten minutes to complete a warming cycle, this little device heats up in no time at all.

I used this portable milk warmer while playing outside with my toddler and 10-month-old. It was so convenient to have on hand and I loved that I didn’t have to disturb my toddler’s outdoor time to come in and warm up his little brother’s bottle.

Dimensions: 7" (L) x 5.5" (W) X 3" (D) | Weight: 2 lbs. | Auto shut-off: Yes

Our product tester says: “It heated very cold milk at a steady pace and took about 3 minutes to get to 98 degrees. The bottle heated my breast milk to a perfect body temperature with no hot-spots.”

Best budget-friendly bottle warmer

The First Years Baby Bottle Warmer and Sterilizer - Pacifier and Bottle Nipple Sanitizer

  • Sanitizes pacifiers
  • Heats breast milk, formula and baby food
  • Affordable price point
  • Not suitable for glass bottles
  • Can overheat milk, damaging breast milk nutrients

With a price tag under $20, you’ll be hard pressed to find another portable bottle warmer as good as this one by The First Years. Doubling as a sterilizer, this warmer uses steam heat to sanitize pacifiers or quickly warm baby bottles and food jars. While there is no temperature indicator, the milk is warmed by measuring out the desired amount of water based on how many ounces of milk (note: breastmilk or formula require different amounts) you're preparing. I like that it comes with a vial to help you precisely measure the amount of water that needs to be added. And there's a slot in the back of the appliance for the “warming card” complete with heating times per ounce for both breastmilk and formula. It’s also very simple to operate with one button that lights up while warming and an automatic shut-off feature. The simple device has no advanced settings, but the use of steam heat gives the bottle a nice, even temperature. And I personally love that it heats up within a minute!

This portable bottle warmer takes up very little room in a pantry and occupies minimal counter space. While it doesn’t come with a travel bag, I still packed it up and brought it with me on trips to my parents and friend’s homes. It doesn’t fit into a cup holder, but it fits into my diaper bag, even if it is a little bulkier than other options. While it requires an outlet for use when traveling, I like that the box is so compact and holds all of the pieces nicely, so I do still consider it to be a lightweight, portable option. On a final note: I love that the water vial, basket, ring and sanitizer lid are all top-rack dishwasher-safe, making it easy to clean the individual components.

Dimensions: 4.6" (L) x 4.6" (W) 6.5" (H) | Weight: 1 lb | Auto shut-off: Yes

Our product tester says: “At around $20, you get huge value for your money with this bottle warmer. Not only does it sterilize, but it heats bottles so quickly and efficiently. While it doesn't have many of the bells and whistles (temperature controls or defrost settings), I love the safety feature of the automatic shutoff and I feel the features exceed the price point.”

Best insulated portable bottle warmer

Kiinde Kozii Voyager, Compact Travel Bottle Warmer for Breast Milk

  • Budget-friendly
  • Kept water hot for hours
  • Two warming cups heat different size bottles or food pouches
  • No temperature controls
  • I didn’t love handling boiling water around my baby and toddler

The Kiinde Kozii Voyager Travel Bottle Warmer is the perfect option to take on the go. Whether you’re heating breastmilk, formula or baby food, this simple thermos-style bottle warmer does the job. Assembly was a breeze and, since this warmer uses hot water, there are no buttons, controls or electricity required. Better yet, it fits right into my car and stroller cup holder and doesn’t add a tremendous amount of weight to a diaper bag, making it the perfect choice for quick outings or long car journeys.

The travel bottle warmer comes with a stainless steel water container and an insulated outer shell that breaks apart to become two warming cups. To heat a bottle, simply place it in a warming cup and pour in water from the flask. Thanks to the stainless steel construction the water stays hot for over eight hours! I especially love that it came with two warming cups; one tall and one short. This allowed me to heat both a baby food pouch and a bottle at the same time if needed. And cleaning this warmer was so easy; I simply used a bottle brush, which easily sanitized all surfaces.

While this is somewhat of an old-school method, I still felt that this portable bottle warmer heated my baby's food pouches and bottles to perfection. I was able to pull out the bottle after about two minutes and tested the temperature on my forearm to ensure that the milk did not get too hot.

Dimensions: 4" (L) x 4" (W) x 8.7" (H) | Weight: 1.2 lbs. | Auto shut-off: No

Our product tester says: “The Kozii Voyager fits nicely into my diaper bag and it also fits in my car and stroller cup holder—so I don't have to waste precious space if my diaper bag is full with many other items for my baby and toddler.”

Portable Bottle Warmer Comparison Chart

What to look for in a travel bottle warmer.

The first thing to consider when you’re looking for a bottle warmer is how you’ll use it. If you’re looking for a smaller model that’ll use up less shelf space at home and pack well into a suitcase for setup at your destination, a smaller model of a normal bottle warmer—the type that plugs into a wall socket—will get the job done. If you want something for use in a car or on a hiking trip, you’ll need something that’s not tied to a power source. You might want a rechargeable, battery-powered bottle warmer or an electricity-free thermos-style option. But whichever model you choose, we’ve gathered a few things to consider when shopping for the best portable bottle warmer:

  • Size. Will the bottle warmer sit on a hotel bedside table? Or does it need to be stashed in a diaper bag? Bottle warmer sizes vary, and some are bulkier than others. For the utmost in on-the-go convenience, a thermos-style portable milk warmer makes a great option. Personally, I enjoyed the lightweight models that could easily fit back into the packaging for easy transportation to my parent’s house as well as warmers that easily fit into the cup holder in my car and stroller.
  • Power source. The earliest bottle warmer models operated by plugging them into an electrical socket. But today, you can find rechargeable USB bottle warmers or cordless bottle warmers that operate using batteries. Consider what, if any, power source you might need before shopping. I particularly loved when a warmer had a USB-C cable for charging, as this meant I could keep the cord in my diaper bag or handbag, and use my iPhone charger as an additional cord for car charging.
  • Ease of cleaning. When it comes to anything related to babies, convenience and cleanliness are key! Look for a travel bottle warmer that’s easy to clean, rather than having tons of parts to remove and replace before using. Components and/or adapters that are dishwasher safe or can be easily wiped down are a bonus!

And when it comes to feeding baby, keep in mind that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends using breast milk within two hours of coming to room temperature. So if you use a portable bottle warmer to warm milk, it’s important that you feed it to baby right away. In addition, it’s never safe to refreeze milk that has been thawed or warmed in a bottle warmer.

The 9 Best Travel Bottle Warmers for Heating Up Your Baby’s Meals on the Go

Whether you’re heating up food on demand or want to have it pre-warmed and at the ready, one of these will help.

Historically, travel bottle warmers have been kind of hot garbage as far as utility and convenience. They often didn't get hot enough, or they got too hot and burned your hands. Either one is obviously not ideal. The travel warmers here are designed to make the best use of your time without hurting you or skimping out on warming the bottle.

The Best Travel Bottle Warmers

  • Best Overall: Baby's Brew
  • Gets the Job Done: Papablic Warmer
  • Best Multipurpose: Mercalon Warmer
  • Best for Parents Who Like Precision: Quark Buubi Warmer
  • For Ultimate Convenience: Baby Bottle System Plus

Whether the travel bottle warmer uses hot water to warm the bottle, or induction heat, the basic idea is the same — bring the bottle to a temperature that makes it more palatable for your baby, therefore making everyone's day better. (Nothing spoils a day out like a hungry baby.)

A few of the best electric bottle warmers here plug right into a USB or USB-C port, so if there's a charging station nearby, you're going to be able to heat up your little's bottle. Conveniently, the water bottle warmers just require hot water. Pro tip: A tall hot coffee works in a pinch.

The option you choose will likely depend on when you’re using it, how often you’re using it, and how much you want to spend. If you’re going to need it a lot, it makes sense to have a warmer that can go from the car to the office, and even the camper or campsite . In this case, a pricier model that’s more durable and has more bells and whistles (such as a timer and temperature selection) is the most viable. Water warmers are great, but they’re one-trick ponies. The Thermos types are wonderful for shorter day trips but can be tricky at the office, on vacation, or on road trips. And now with warmers like the Ember , which self-heats or the Quark bottle warmer, you can keep baby's bottle at-temperature for up to 10 hours at a time or set and forget, which is a real game changer.

Check out the best travel bottle warmers below so you can keep your babe’s milk at their ideal temperature, even when you’re far from the conveniences of home.

Portable Bottle Warmer Pro Set

Portable Bottle Warmer Pro Set

This cordless bottle warmer lets you choose from a list of presets how warm you want your little one’s food to be. The formula dispenser doles out enough for one scoop of formula with each press of the button. Once the warmer is charged, you can easily heat up any standard baby bottle.

We love this bottle warmer for its convenience and reliability. “I’ve tried other portable rechargeable bottle warmers,” one of our testers said. “Not only were they confusing, but they also took forever to warm up a bottle. The Baby’s Brew is easy to use, accurate, and holds its charge perfectly.”

Mini Portable Travel Baby Bottle Warmer

Mini Portable Travel Baby Bottle Warmer

When hunger strikes for your little one, the easy-to-use Papablic Mini Bottle Warmer warms up milk quickly. Fill the spillproof insulated bottle with hot water, and when it's time to eat, pour the water into the container and plop the bottle inside. The highest-rated bottle warmer on our list, this bottle really seals in the heat. And the vacuum lid is easy to open and close, unlike with the Tommee Tippee.

It's affordable, easy to use, and honestly? It's just a great value. It may not be as fancy as others on this list, but it gets the job done and doesn't ding your budget.

Bottle Warmer for Travel

Bottle Warmer for Travel

One of my favorites for the combination of value and usefulness, this bottle warmer gets bonus points for its many options for the temperature you’d like the formula or milk to be. And if you’re thinking long-term, it’s great for adults, too, as it will heat liquid to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Say you order your coffee or tea extra hot; this Mercalon will keep it there. It's a great gift for busy parents since our coffee is usually cold by the time we get a minute to actually drink it. It has a built-in 9,000-mAh battery, which has enough juice to heat 5-ounce bottles five to 10 times or keep one warm up to 12 hours. It does this for all under $60,

Buubi Bottle Smart Portable Milk Warmer & Sterilizer - White

Buubi Bottle Smart Portable Milk Warmer & Sterilizer - White

When you think of baby bottles and warmers, chic is probably not a descriptor you're used to using. However, the Quark Buubi is just that. I was instantly impressed by the look of it, but then when I used it, I was in love. Not only did this rechargeable bottle warmer heat up the formula in a hurry, it kept it warm for hours, allowing me a long stretch of time to be out with baby testing baby strollers.

It's a pour bottle, so you don't put the whole bottle in it and warm that, instead, think of it like a little saucepan for the formula that you pour into your own bottle. The digital interface allows you to choose the temperature your baby prefers, making it astonishingly easy to control.

Baby Bottle System Plus

Baby Bottle System Plus

I love my Ember coffee mug and warmer more than words can say, so when I heard that they were making a self-warming baby bottle set, I was all over it. It's not just for travel, either. It's great for home, too. The Ember baby bottle system takes away the chore of heating bottles wherever you are.

It's a one-click, rechargeable, base with thermal dome, power adapter, two 6-ounce baby bottles, two level-two nipples, two level-three nipples, and two adapters.

In minutes, it brings baby's bottle to body temperature, no matter where you are, and the dome keeps baby's bottle cool for up to 4 hours until you're ready to warm it up. You can track everything via their app, including how much your baby's eaten, how much they weigh, and more to get a complete picture of baby's habits.

Each charge lasts for two full warmings of their 6-ounce bottles. Worried about the nipple not being to your baby's liking? Don't worry, it comes with a top that holds the popular Dr. Brown's and Philips Avent nipples.

I do wish it came with larger and smaller bottles, and knowing Ember, they're probably working on that, but as it is right now, is still such a genius product.

Travel Bottle & Food Warmer Set

Travel Bottle & Food Warmer Set

Like the Kiinde above, this set from Tommee Tippee requires that you fill the flask with hot water before leaving home, and it'll stay warm all day. The wide-mouthed container accommodates jarred and pouched baby food for feeding older tots.

This bottle keeps water warm much longer than the Kiinde, but we found it to be more fiddly. It’s not always the easiest to get the lid back on so that it won’t leak, and you definitely can’t do it with one hand. "This warmer has truly been a game-changer for me. Out of all the portable warmers I've come across, this one stands unparalleled, especially considering its price point," says one 5-star reviewer.

Baby Bottle Smart Warming Bowl

Baby Bottle Smart Warming Bowl

The Nanobebe Smart Baby Bottle Warmer heats up your baby’s supper quickly—within minutes—and evenly to prevent hot spots and the loss of nutrients. This no-fuss travel bottle warmer just requires hot water.

This is a great option if you have access to hot water. But it’s not spillproof and requires you to carry hot water in a separate bottle or get it while you’re out, which might not be ideal. That being said, it works really well, and also fairly quickly. I find it's a great "hotel warmer."

Multi-Function Waterproof Travel Bag With Bottle Warmer

Multi-Function Waterproof Travel Bag With Bottle Warmer

This backpack is a diaper bag , a purse, and a bottle warmer all in one. You do need your own portable charger to power the bottle-warming sleeve, so factor that into the cost if you don’t already have one. But for the versatility, this is a great value.

You can heat up your baby’s bottle as you stroll through the park or take a walk around town and have it ready to deploy right when you need it. Parents rave that this diaper bag is an excellent value. Not only is the warmer convenient, but the pack is large and its nylon looks fabulous.

Kozii Voyager

Kozii Voyager

This travel bottle warmer set by Kiinde requires you to fill the stainless-steel bottle with hot water ahead of time. But because of that, you don’t need access to power or even batteries to heat up your baby’s milk.

Having tested this bottle, we can say that it’s impressively quick if the water is super hot. However, if you’ve been storing the water for 6 or more hours, the bottle won’t keep it as hot, leading to less effective warming when it comes time to eat. The baristas at Starbucks did fill it with hot water from their tap for free, though.

That being said, it's the most-intuitive to operate of all of the warmers on our list, and dozens of parents have recommended it to me over the years.

Any product that can help make parenting a bit easier is a major win, especially when it comes to traveling with a baby. Whether it’s for running errands, a short road trip to visit family, or a full day of airline travel, a good travel bottle warmer can make a big difference.

A baby’s schedule can make leaving home feel stressful, but the right products can help you feel more prepared for changes in plan.

Bottle Warmer

A good travel bottle warmer should be user-friendly, packable, and, most importantly, tailored to your specific needs. There are a lot of different things to consider when you first start shopping around, so try starting with these key components.

Power Source

You may want to pay close attention to whether or not your travel bottle warmer requires electricity , which can be a deal-breaker depending on the intended use. Thermos-style warmers are a great simple option, whereas USB-chargeable bottle warmers can quickly charge up in the car or via power banks .

Bottle warmers that require a wall plug are great for longer stints away from home, whereas rechargeable ones are convenient for everyday outings.

Warming Time

If your baby is crying for their bottle, heating milk can feel like an eternity. For example, some thermos-style travel bottle warmers may take 15 minutes to warm up, whereas electric ones can warm bottles in under a few minutes .

Bottom Line: Shorter warming times might be a good tradeoff for electrical requirements, but not for everyone.

Weight and Size

Bottle Warmer Weight ans Size

With a baby in tow, consider your main mode of travel and how much weight you’re willing to tote around. Some travel bottle warmers can weigh a pound or less and be quite compact, which is great for outdoor strolls and day trips.

Others can be a little bigger and heavier, but that detail might be negligible for longer trips or outings that don’t require as much walking around.

Cleaning Requirements

Bottle warmer cleaning requirements

With a baby, your day is already busy enough without spending time cleaning bottle warmers.

Consider the type of material your bottle warmer is made from and the type of cleaning required after use. For example, stainless-steel products require hand-washing or wiping with a damp cloth, whereas plastic components may be put in the dishwasher for a more manageable cleanup.

Leakproof bottle warmer

Nothing is worse than a spill or an accident in the middle of an already busy moment when your baby is fussing about their bottle. You want to make sure you choose a leakproof bottle warmer to avoid spills and extra cleanup .

Many bottle warmers have O-rings that need to be removed for cleaning — which can be a bit of a disaster if you forget to replace it. Keep an eye out for these details and pick the one that best suits you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do bottle warmers take to heat up.

Warming times can vary significantly between products and can depend on the liquid’s initial temperature. For example, some may warm room-temperature milk within minutes, and others are capable of defrosting bottles — but this may take longer.

Do all bottle brands fit into all travel bottle warmers?

No, they don’t. Many warmers have bottle adapters included or available for purchase, but some are incompatible with specific bottle types. This is an important detail to pay attention to when purchasing a bottle warmer, as it may not be compatible with the bottles you’ve already purchased.

Are all travel bottle warmers intended for breast milk?

No, bottle warmers may be intended for use with water, milk, formula, or all of them. It’s always best to check the product specifications to ensure it works for your specific needs.

Are digital bottle warmers a better option?

Thermos bottle warmers are a long-trusted option for many parents, but newer, digital options also have many benefits. If you’re specifically worried about “heat spots,” or even overheating breast milk, those that warm bottles to a specific temperature might offer you a bit more peace of mind.

Kiinde Kozii Voyager, Compact Travel Bottle Warmer

Kiinde Kozii Voyager, Compact Travel Bottle Warmer for Breast Milk, Portable and Easy to Use, No Electricity or Batteries Required, Baby Bottles and Baby Food

The Kiinde Kozii bottle warmer is  good for parents on the go. You can even take it with you on a hike, and throw it in your baby carrier backpack !

It’s a three-part bottle warmer – you get the thermos bottle that keeps water hot all day and two Insulated warming cups. One warming cup is larger than the other, to accommodate the different sizes of bottles.

The way it works is you  choose an insulated cup which is compatible with the bottle you want to warm up. Then you put the bottle in the cup and pour hot water from the thermos around it.  Close it with the other cup, and you can just throw it in your diaper bag and be on your way.

The time this takes to warm up a bottle depends on how hot the water in the thermos is. Some people use just hot tap water, and that can take maybe 5-10 minutes. But if you actually boil water and then pour it in the thermos, it won’t take longer than 2-3 minutes to get the milk to a temperature that’s safe for your baby to drink.

The thermos works really well, and it will keep the water in it hot even after several hours. And the  big warming cup is large enough to fit even the bulkier milk bottles, which is great.

Overall, this bottle warmer is small, functional, and affordable. It fits into your purse or carry-on and allows you to have warm milk pretty much anywhere in just a matter of minutes. But there is the issue of weight. The entire warmer weighs about 12 ounces, plus the 18 ounces of water that you’ll have to pour in the thermos. That’s almost 2 pounds, in addition to everything else in your diaper bag.

  • Works anywhere
  • Affordable and practical
  • Fits even the largest baby bottles
  • Can get heavy
  • Heating capabilities are limited
  • Can’t keep a bottle warm all day

Product Information

  • Dimensions: 8.7” x 4” x 4”
  • Weight: 12.8 oz
  • Needs Electricity: No

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Portable Travel Baby Bottle Warmer - Multi Function - BPA Free

The Tommee Tippee bottle warmer is a typical portable bottle warmer that uses hot water to work. It includes an insulated thermos that you pour hot water into and a plastic cup that is used to actually warm up a bottle.  The thermos is well made and it can keep water hot for hours. It is made from stainless steel, and it is very easy to clean.

The  lid of the insulated bottle is leak-proof, so it is pretty safe to just throw it in your bag . Additionally, the manufacturer recommends that you pour boiled water in it, for the best results.

This works for warming up a bottle fairly quickly. Put the baby bottle in the plastic cup, pour some hot water into it and wait a couple of minutes. But  it doesn’t really work for keeping a bottle warm – I don’t think that it would be safe to carry the plastic cup in your bag when there’s hot water inside it. Especially because it doesn’t have a lid. :>

The cap of the plastic cup is very wide, and it can fit all kinds of bottles.  That’s great – you’re not restricted just to Tommee Tippee ones. Also,  the thermos fits nicely into the white cup, which makes it very convenient to carry around.  But there’s the issue of weight – this is just another thing you have to carry around, and when it’s full of hot water it does get kind of heavy.

  • Keeps water hot for hours
  • You don’t need to take the cap off the thermos to pour water
  • Warms up a bottle really fast
  • Not good for retaining warmth of a bottle
  • Gets heavy when the thermos is full
  • Dimensions: 2.8” x 11.4” x 13.2”
  • Weight: 11.7 oz

BabyMemory Diaper Bag + Bottle Warmer

Diaper Bag Backpack, Multifunction Travel Back Pack, Nappy Bag, Waterproof Maternity Baby Bag with Bottle Warmer, Insulated Pockets, Stroller Straps and USB Charging Port, Unisex and Stylish Pink&Gray

So, this bottle warmer is something different . But it’s a good option for travel – it’s a diaper bag that can fit all of your necessities, and which comes with a portable bottle warmer. It is a USB bottle warmer, but people are actually saying good things about it! So, if you would like to try a USB bottle warmer, I highly recommend getting this diaper bag.

As a bag, it is stylish, spacious, and small enough that you can use it as a carry-on. It is made from Oxford fabric, so it is pretty durable and won’t tear easily. The bag is waterproof and has dedicated slip pockets for baby bottles. Those pockets are lined with tin foil, so they can keep a hot bottle warm throughout the day.

And then there’s the bottle warmer. You can plug it into the bag if you’ve charged it, or just into a power bank. You get a USB cable with the bag, but you don’t get a power bank.

The portable bottle warmer is very small, so it is very portable. And it actually works – it gets enough charge with the USB cable that it can warm up milk pretty well. Additionally, you can use the USB port on the bag to charge your phone, which is a very nice bonus.

If you are looking for a simple bottle warmer, then this might not be the best choice for you. It is pretty pricey to buy this bag just for the warmer. But, if you want something versatile and very functional, then definitely try out this bag.

  • A versatile diaper bag
  • Dedicated insulated pockets for milk bottles
  • A USB bottle warmer included in the purchase
  • You can’t buy just the bottle warmer
  • Pricey if you’re buying just for the warmer
  • Dimensions: 14.2” x 7.9” x 18.1” (bag size)
  • Weight: 1.74 lbs (bag weight)
  • Needs Electricity: Yes

Harmily Bottle Heater

Harmily Food Milk Bottle Heaters Travel Cup Warmer Heater Portable DC 12V in Car Baby Bottle Storage Bag Warmer

If you need a portable bottle warmer that’s good for a road trip, I definitely recommend the Harmily . It is a great warmer that you can always keep in your car because  it is really small and lightweight.  This bottle heater is made from  heat-insulating material that does a good job of preserving heat.

Also,  the material is elastic and it can stretch to fit most water bottles.  There is an opening zipper, which helps you fit some bulkier bottles.

The Harmily  plugs into the car lighter and it can warm up a bottle of milk pretty fast.  It has an  insulation temperature of 65°C and a holding temperature of 35°C , which is pretty decent for such an affordable travel bottle warmer.

This bottle warmer also comes with a small carabiner, which is very useful when you’re in the car alone. You won’t be able to fit this into a cup holder, and the carabiner really helps there. Plus, it has  automatic protection from overheating, which makes it a rather safe choice.

Overall, I think that this is a decent travel bottle warmer to have in your car. It is by no means a remarkable product, especially because its use is so limited. But it is made from heat-insulated material, which can preserve heat very well even when it is not plugged into a power source.

  • Very portable
  • Made from heat-insulating material
  • Fits all kinds of baby bottles
  • Limited use – you can only use it in the car
  • Won’t fit into cup holders
  • Dimensions: 7.9” x 3.9” x 2”
  • Weight: 0.96 oz

Lekebaby Insulated Baby Bottle Tote Bag

Lekebaby Baby Bottle Cooler Bag for Daycare Breastmilk Cooler On The Go, Insulated Bottle Bag Fits 2 Large Baby Bottles Up to 9 Ounce, Grey

I have to throw in one of these bottle warmers. If you are looking for something that can keep a bottle of milk warm for hours, this is a go-to. The insulating material inside helps the heat circulate and preserves it for very long periods of time.

But it also works really well as a cooler.  You can  throw an ice pack and two bottles with frozen/refrigerated milk inside this, and they will stay cool for hours . It also  works for food, water,  or pretty much anything you can think of that you would want to keep cool/warm.

The obvious downside to this tote is that it only works for preserving heat. It’s great if you want to warm up bottles at home and bring them on a long ride. But if you’re looking for something that can heat up refrigerated milk, this is definitely not for you.

As for the tote itself, it is made from durable 600D oxford material. It is treated to be water repellent, which makes it suitable even for rainy day outings. The bag has a large capacity; it can fit two big bottles, as well as some additional snacks in the internal mesh pocket.

Also, the bag  comes with a waterproof plastic insert, which will protect the interior of the bag from any leaks.  In general, it’s definitely something you should have when traveling, but it does have somewhat limited functions.

  • Water repellent material
  • Versatile – keep bottles warm, or keep them cool
  • Lightweight and portable
  • For preserving heat (can't heat up a bottle)
  • Does not come with an ice pack
  • Dimensions: 7.1” x 4” x 8.7”
  • Weight: 5.3 oz

Munchkin 98° Digital Bottle Warmer (Plug-in) with Four Adapters - Fits Most Baby Bottles, White, 1 Count (Pack of 1)

The Munchkin Travel Car Baby bottle warmer is another  great choice for road trips and outings.  It comes with an  adapter that plugs into the car’s lighter , and it is very easy to use. Additionally,  the digital display shows you the remaining heating time, as well as the temperature of the milk.

The adapter has a light-up timer display, which is easy to use even at night. And the  band that does the actual heating is elastic, so it can fit most baby bottles.  But, it can also  fit into most car cup holders,  which is a huge bonus.

There are two downsides to this portable bottle warmer. First,  it is pretty slow .  If you want to warm up frozen milk, that will take about an hour. For room temperature milk, it’s some 20-30 minutes.  Which is about ten times longer than your regular bottle warmer would take.

The other downside is the car adapter. It’s larger than it should be, and it doesn’t fit properly into most car lighters. I mean, you can squeeze it inside, but it will take some force and a pair of pliers to get it out. Which could mess up your car’s lighter for good.

Bottom line, i t is a functional bottle warmer, but it is far from perfect. A nd it is pretty pricey as well – at some $40, it’s in the same price range as regular electric bottle warmers. Whether or not it is worth the money is a completely different issue.

  • Light-up display is easy to use at night
  • Elastic band fits most baby bottles
  • The car adapter doesn’t really fit most cars
  • It is very slow
  • Dimensions: 6.8” x 3.2” x 3.2”
  • Weight: 4.8 oz

Cherub Click 'n Go Bottle Warmer

One good thing about this portable bottle warmer is that it is versatile. You can use it as a travel bottle warmer – just activate the heating disk, and you’re good to go. It works for about  an hour at a time,  so it will heat up a bottle and keep it warm for that hour . Or you can use it as a cooler. Put in the fridge for 10-15 minutes, and you will have the same amount of cooling time.

But it does work in a weird way. It is in a liquid state, and when you activate the heater, the gel inside turns into a solid state. To reuse the warmer, you need to get the gel back into a liquid state. You can do that by putting it in boiling water, microwave, or a sterilizer for some 10 minutes.

That does mean that  you can only use it once during a car trip or a flight , so it is a little bit awkward. It’s a good option as a quick solution, and it works pretty well.  It will heat up frozen milk in about 30 minutes, which is not bad at all.  And it comes with a little pouch, which is designed to protect you from the heat.

The  Cherub bottle warmer fits bottles that are up to 12” in diameter.  So, I think it’s safe to say that this can fit any baby bottle without issue.

There is one thing to keep in mind though –  the gel inside the travel baby bottle warmer sleeve is in a liquid state. Which goes against TSA’s rule for liquids . I haven’t tried to take it on a flight yet, so I would advise that you check with the TSA. Especially if you won’t be bringing a backup warmer.

  • Innovative design
  • Fits baby bottles of all sizes
  • Works as both a warmer and a cooler
  • To reuse it you need to heat it up
  • Works in one-hour periods
  • Might not be TSA approved
  • Dimensions: 4.7” x 1.8” x 6.3”
  • Weight: 10.6 oz

Plug-In Bottle Warmers

The bottle warmers in this section all need to be plugged into an outlet to work. They are portable because they are small and lightweight. I recommend these bottle warmers if you’re looking for something that you can use in hotels and apartments.

New Munchkin 98° Digital Bottle Warmer

The New Munchin is a great bottle warmer. It can warm up milk and food, sterilize baby gadgets and it’s about as tall as an iPhone – pretty great, right?  Size-wise it is extremely portable, and it will fit into most diaper bags and carry-ons. It is also pretty lightweight (about 20 ounces), so it won’t add “too much” weight to your already heavy diaper bag.

But you can’t use it anywhere. This baby bottle warmer has to be plugged into a source of electricity to work. It’s not great for road trips, long rides, or day-long outings – so any scenario in which you don’t have access to a power outlet. However, it is great to have in hotels and apartments, and even at the airport. And it can both warm up a bottle and just keep it warm.

So, how does it work? Simple – using the adapter that suits your brand of bottle (Dr. Brown’s Original, Avent, Medela, Tommee Tippee and some others) attach the bottle and press “go”. It heats it up and shows you the temperature as it warms. So, no water is needed, and super simple to use.

The bottle warmer can keep a bottle of milk warm at 98.6 degrees for 30 minutes. So, if you get distracted in the meantime, it should still be good to go when you are

  • Affordable and lightweight
  • Very small – fits in your carry on
  • No water needed
  • Adapters for most any brand
  • Needs to be plugged into a power source to work
  • Dimensions:‎ 9.5 x 6 x 5 inches
  • Weight: 20 ounces

Chicco NaturalFit Digital Bottle Warmer

Chicco Digital Bottle & Baby Food Jar Warmer with LCD Display, Digital Countdown and Ready Alert, Fits Most Bottles and Jars, White

If you are looking for a highly functional bottle warmer that is also a great option for home use, this Chicco one is a good choice. And it is also great for travel because of its small size and lightweight. It will easily fit into your carry-on or diaper bag, and it takes up as much space as a basic thermos bottle warmer.

The Chicco bottle warmer needs water to work, and it will shut off automatically when it runs out of water. It has a digital display that allows you to select the size of the milk bottle and how cold it is currently. The three options are room temperature, refrigerated, and frozen. It is compatible with most baby bottles and food jars, and it has a delayed start option.

However, it is not really designed to keep a bottle warm for prolonged periods of time. This is designed to quickly defrost milk or warm-up cold milk in just a minute or two.

Also, it is a little pricey, especially considering that the Babebay one is 50% cheaper, and it has the option to keep a bottle warm. But this does have a digital display and is pretty user-friendly. Just be sure to always test the milk on your wrist – the bottle warmer is inconsistent at times, and the milk can come out too hot/cold.

  • 12 heating options
  • Comes with an insert for food jars and small bottles
  • Compatible with most baby bottles
  • Inconsistent at times
  • Can’t keep a bottle warm
  • Dimensions: 5.5” x 5.5” x 6.8”
  • Weight: 1.6 lbs

Philips Avent, Baby Bottle Warmer

It’s a little bigger than the other two electrical bottle warmers I showed you, but it’s also pretty lightweight. At 1.5 lbs, this bottle warmer is actually weighs less than the thermos options, when you include the weight of the water that you also need to carry around.

I think it is a great choice for long holidays. Not only can it warm up a bottle of milk in just 3 minutes, but it also has the option to preserve the heat for hours. The only downside to this is that it doesn’t have a built-in timer, so you will need to track the warming time on your phone.

This bottle warmer has a pretty wide opening, and it can fit most brands of baby bottles. Obviously, it will fit all Philips Avent bottles perfectly, but it works just as well with other brands.

Now, there is one issue. The Philips bottle warmer works only with 110V, and it doesn’t support higher voltage. This is designed to be used in the US, so you should check the voltage of the country you are traveling to, to avoid any disasters.

Just like the other electrical warmers, this one needs water to work. It is very simple to use – just add some water inside the heater, and turn the dial to the setting you need. It is an efficient and versatile product, that just so happens to be extremely portable and affordable. And that’s why it is one of your favorites.

  • Very efficient and easy to use
  • Heats up and preserves heat
  • Bigger than other electrical bottle warmers
  • No built-in timer
  • Dimensions: 7.5” x 7” x 7”
  • Weight: 1.55 lbs
  • Needs Electricity: Yes (110V)

Choosing The Best Bottle Warmer For Travel

What is a portable bottle warmer.

For me, there are two types. There are bottle warmers that have alternate power sources, like the ones that you plug into a car lighter.  You can also get  bottle warmers that use hot water in order to work  – they are great for keeping bottles warm when you are walking around and don’t have access to any kind of power source.

USB bottle warmers are the best in theory and the worst in practice.  In theory, you can just plug them into a power bank and they will keep the milk warm. But in practice, they can’t get hot enough, and they keep the milk lukewarm at best. Most have horrific reviews, which is why I won’t be featuring them here. The concept of a USB bottle warmer is amazing, but the execution of the idea is still nowhere near perfection.

The other type is bottle warmers that are small, lightweight but need to be plugged into an outlet .  These are  great if you are going on a holiday with your kids and you need something that’s smaller than your usual bottle warmer, but works just as well.  They are  great for hotels, and most of them fit easily into a carry-on.

So, I will divide this review into two sections. First I will show you bottle warmers that you can use without an outlet, which are great for warming bottles on the go. And then I will move on to small but powerful water bottles that are great for hotel rooms, apartments, layovers, etc. This brings me to my next point.

Where Do You Plan To Use It?

Do you need something that you can use to heat up the milk in the hotel room, or do you want something that allows you to warm up milk while you’re out and about?

If you need something to have specifically at the hotel room or apartment, I would highly recommend a compact bottle warmer that you plug into an outlet.  For me, they are the most convenient choice, and the ones that I will show you in this review are all pretty small and lightweight.

And if you want a bottle warmer that you can use on the bus, plane, or when you’re sitting on a bench in the park, I highly recommend getting a thermos bottle warmer. These are two-part bottle warmers that feature a thermos and a warming cup. You carry around hot water in the thermos so that you can pour it over the baby bottle in the warming cup. They usually work pretty fast, but they can get a bit heavy to lug around all day.

These are also the more affordable option. They usually cost around $20, so they are the better option if you are on a tight budget.

Or maybe you are going on a road trip? If that is the case, the best option for you would be a bottle warmer that plugs into the car lighter.  They are the most convenient because, unlike all other heaters, they don’t need water to work.

Warm Up Or Keep Warm?

Are you looking for a product that can warm up a cold bottle of milk to a temperature that’s safe for your baby? Or something that will just keep a bottle warm for hours? Because it’s a huge difference. Whenever a product can only do one of the two things above, I will make sure to list it in the  pros/cons section.

Products that are designed to heat up a bottle usually don’t do a great job at keeping that same bottle warm for hours. And vice versa. Obviously, there are some warmers that can do both, but they usually have to be plugged into a source of electricity.  So, you should have a good idea of which is the better fit for your needs and travel habits.

Our Top Choices For Best Travel Bottle Warmer

Still not sure which travel bottle warmer is the right option for you? Don’t fret – here are our top three recommendations!

The Tommee Tippee is my recommendation for an on-the-go bottle warmer.  You can use this on rides, in the park, and even on an airplane. It comes with a thermos that can keep water hot for hours on end, and is leak-proof. How long this takes to warm up a bottle of milk depends on the temperature of the water you pour in. For the best and quickest results, pour bottled water into the thermos.

  • Warm baby’s feed on the go: The travel warmer securely stores hot water and keeps it hot so it’s ready to warm baby bottles or food on the go
  • Closer to Nature compatible: The travel warmer is specially designed to hold Tommee Tippee’s Closer to Nature baby bottles and a wide range of branded baby food jars or pouches

The Munchkin bottle warmer is our top choice for road trips.  Although it’s not really a perfect product,  it still has more than 300 5-star reviews.  There are some flaws to it, but it definitely works.  It is   pretty slow, but that milk will eventually be warm enough for your baby to drink.

The Munchkin fits into most cup holders, which is a huge bonus. And, because the band is elastic, it will fit over nearly all baby bottles.

  • Heats breast milk or formula to 98.6 degrees every time and will hold it at this temperature for 15 minutes
  • No confusing water tanks or measurements needed

The Philips Avent would be my top choice for a plug-in bottle warmer. I t is small enough that  it can fit in your carry-on, and it is super lightweight. And it is pretty versatile – it can heat up a bottle of milk in just a few minutes, and then keep it warm for hours.

Unfortunately, the Avent does not have a built-in timer, so you’ll need to use your phone to track how long it is working.   But  the affordable price, on top of all the other upsides, really makes this a great option.

  • Gently and evenly heats no hotspots as the milk circulates during warming; The voltage is 220-240 V
  • Works with all Phillips Avent bottles, toddler cups, and most food jars

Head to Amazon to see what other parents are saying about these travel bottle warmers. And to check out their prices!

Best Bottle Warmers of 2024

If your baby prefers warm milk, a bottle warmer can save the day., by jen labracio.

Pinterest logo.

Some types of baby gear may leave you wondering, “ Do I really need that? ”—and a bottle warmer is one of them. For parents who plan to bottle feed their baby either expressed breast milk or formula , or if you discover your baby specifically prefers their milk served warm, bottle warmers can feel like a must-have baby product . A bottle warmer is a quick, safe way to uniformly heat a chilled bottle, freezer bag of milk or even refrigerated baby food so you can use it right away. But if you plan to exclusively breastfeed (and only occasionally offer bottle feedings ) it might be more important to save the counter space and use the bowl of warm water method instead.

If you do decide a bottle warmer is a registry must-have, we gathered our top picks to help you pick the best one for you and your family.

Babylist’s Picks for Best Bottle Warmers

Best overall bottle warmer.

Baby Brezza Safe & Smart Bluetooth Connected Bottle Warmer - White On Black - $79.99.

Baby Brezza Safe & Smart Bluetooth Connected Bottle Warmer - White On Black

Baby Brezza’s bottle warmer is packed full of warming options and other unique features that make it stand out from the crowd. There’s a separate setting for heating different types of milk and food, a useful feature if you’re heating breast milk and are concerned about too much heat that can ruin the milk’s nutrients. (“Quick Warm” uses steam for a faster warm, while “Steady Warm” uses a warm water bath to slowly warm breast milk.) You can control the warmer from the LCD screen or wirelessly via an app for your phone, another nice perk for when you’ve stepped away and want to know when your bottle is ready.

Best Affordable Bottle Warmer

The First Years 2-in-1 Simple Serve Bottle Warmer - $17.97.

The First Years 2-in-1 Simple Serve Bottle Warmer

The Simple Serve is a great choice if you’re looking for a bottle warmer that won’t cost you a ton or if you’re hesitant about getting a bottle warmer and would rather not commit to a pricier option. This one is designed to hold most types of baby bottles (as well as breast milk bags and baby food) and has a fairly compact design. You can prefill the water vial and store it in the warmer so you don’t have to measure in the middle of the night. It also comes with a basket attachment that works for heating up baby food jars and can sterilize up to two pacifiers at a time.

Best Bottle Warmer for Travel

Baby's Brew 3.0 Portable Bottle Warmer Pro - $80.00.

Baby's Brew 3.0 Portable Bottle Warmer Pro

If you’re on the go and trying to feed a hungry baby who’ll only take warm milk, you’re usually out of luck. Enter Baby’s Brew: the first-ever battery-powered bottle warmer. No cords or warm water needed; just screw on your bottle, hit one button and you’ll have warm milk in under ten minutes. Baby’s Brew is designed to fit most major bottle brands and also sells separate adapters for those that aren’t compatible. Some parents do complain about occasional leaks and inconsistent heat times, but it seems to be dependent on which brand of bottle you’re using and how much milk or formula is in the warmer.

Best Bottle Warmer for Breastmilk

Kiinde Kozii Bottle Warmer - $74.99.

Kiinde Kozii Bottle Warmer

Kiinde’s bottle warmer is a popular choice among Babylist parents. It uses a low-temperature water bath to heat up bottles in about five minutes as well as breast milk storage bags and baby food jars or pouches. (Some parents do note that it can take two cycles to defrost frozen milk and food, though.) There’s a built-in timer and an auto shut-off so you don’t have to worry about overheating if (when) you get distracted. And the Kozii is one of the larger warmers on the market, making it ideal for wider bottles like the Comotomo .

Fastest Bottle Warmer

Philips Avent Fast Baby Bottle Warmer - Warmer - $49.99.

Philips Avent Fast Baby Bottle Warmer - Warmer

This warmer from Philips Avent is a mid-priced warmer that quickly heats up bottles and baby food. A medium-sized bottle takes about three minutes to evenly warm, and there’s a smart temperature control that prevents milk and food from overheating. Another benefit we love? The defrost setting is specifically for warming frozen breast milk or baby food.

Best Portable Bottle Warmer

Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle And Food Warmer - $22.99.

Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle And Food Warmer

Similar to Baby’s Brew, the Tommee Tippee warmer is perfect for on-the-go; the only difference here is the price (this one’s much cheaper) and instead of being battery-powered, you’ll need to fill this warmer with hot water before you head out. The two-part system contains an insulated, stainless steel thermal bottle that keeps water warm for 8-12 hours and a plastic cup. When it’s time for your child to eat, simply pour the water into the cup and submerge the bottle or food inside to warm up. Just note it does take a while for this warmer to work its magic as it’s powered only by warm water.

Most Stylish Bottle Warmer

Momcozy Baby Bottle Warmer - White - $39.99.

Momcozy Baby Bottle Warmer - White

If you’re not down with baby stuff that looks like baby stuff taking over your house, check out this warmer from Momcozy. With its minimal syle, this warmer is a nice departure from most other bottle warmers and won’t hog a ton of counter space, either. It warms up bottles in 2-5 minutes as well as baby food. It fits glass, plastic and silicone bottles up to 11 ounces and has an auto shut-off feature to prevent overheating.

Best Bottle Warmer for Twins

Dr. Brown's Deluxe Bottle Warmer & Sterilizer - Warmer - $44.99.

Dr. Brown's Deluxe Bottle Warmer & Sterilizer - Warmer

This bottle warmer uses steam to heat most bottles in about five minutes. The digital display counts down to when the bottle or baby food is ready, beeps when done and automatically shuts off a minute after the cycle completes. The warmer doesn’t require a cool-down period after each cycle like some models do, so it’s a great choice for warming bottles back-to-back. But you’ll want to make sure you only use distilled water, otherwise mineral deposits build up and it starts to smell funky. The warmer also doesn’t fit extra-wide, rounder shaped bottles.

How We Chose Our Best Bottle Warmers

We asked thousands of real Babylist families about the baby products they love the most, then took the top products they shared with us and added our own research and insight to tell you about the best bottle warmers.

Do You Need a Bottle Warmer?

Whether or not you need a bottle warmer comes down to personal preference—both yours and your baby’s. Some parents choose to let frozen breastmilk thaw overnight in the fridge and serve it cold. Others choose to warm breastmilk or formula by placing the bottle in a bowl or a mug of hot water to slowly heat it up. (Microwaving breast milk or formula is a no-go, so skip that method.)

But some babies are pickier than others, and some parents don’t have the patience to wait around for milk to thaw or slowly warm in the sink. A bottle warmer is a small, generally affordable piece of baby gear that helps speed up the heating process and gets warm milk to your hungry baby’s mouth quickly and safely.
