Entertainment

We paid $161 for two exit row seats thinking there’d be extra leg room and not be cramped! The price we paid was a rip-off for these seats and the plane was extremely narrow and cramped. The male crew were okay but not super-friendly. When we picked up our luggage at baggage claim, someone ripped my luggage with a knife or blunt object and destroyed it!! I will be filling a claim for this and took pictures. I heard great reviews about this airline but am disappointed.

American Airlines announces flights out of Provo Airport starting this fall

PROVO — Utah's second largest airport is getting another airline option.

American Airlines announced Thursday it will launch new nonstop service from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Phoenix-Sky Harbor Airport to Provo Airport beginning this fall. The airline will offer two daily flights to Texas and one daily flight to Arizona starting on Oct. 7, using CRJ700 aircraft for all three daily flights. The planes have room for 65 passengers, including nine first-class seats.

There will also be three daily flights arriving in Provo from the two out-of-state locations during that time. Tickets for flights will go on sale for the first time on April 22.

Joe Sottile, American's director of domestic network planning, said the airline is "thrilled" to add a new service in Provo.

"This new year-round service will offer convenient connections to destinations across the United States and the world on our comprehensive global network, giving local residents more ways to visit the places they want to visit most," Sottile said in a statement on Thursday.

American Airlines already runs about six daily flights to the Dallas/Forth Worth area — its largest hub — and two daily flights to Phoenix out of Salt Lake City International Airport, as well as one daily flight to Chicago and Charlotte, North Carolina. The latter three are also key hubs for the airline.

American also resumed service between Dallas/Forth Worth and St. George this year.

Nate Gatten, the company's executive vice president, said all of the service options will give Utah residents access to American Airlines' "vast domestic and global networks" that include service to over two dozen destinations in Mexico, as well as Caribbean and Latin America countries.

The move also makes American Airlines the third airline to operate out of the airport since its new terminal opened in 2022 , joining Allegiant Air and Breeze Airways at the fast-growing airport. The airport reached its 1 million passenger mark in December, about a decade ahead of schedule.

Thursday's announcement isn't that much of a surprise. Brian Torgersen, director of Provo Airport, hinted that a "major network carrier" — such as American Airlines — had expressed interest in opening business out of Utah County during a presentation to the Utah Legislature earlier this year . That was revealed as he and Provo officials asked the state for more funds to expand the facility to meet the growing demand.

Torgersen explained Thursday that bringing in a major carrier had always been a "focus" while the new terminal was being planned out. He said he's happy American Airlines "stepped up" and offered new flights to two of its largest hubs.

“The monumental announcement of the arrival of American Airlines proves we were on their radar as much as our airport tower will soon be on theirs,” Provo Mayor Michelle Kaufusi added. “With year-round, daily service, American Airlines is showing (its) commitment to Provo and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them home with this game-changing service.”

I had a panic attack from the medication I was on, and the flight attendants made me feel safe and comfortable when they saw me in distress. They relocated me to an area of the aircraft that made me feel more comfortable and we had our own row which helped reduce my anxiety tremendously.

Good flights. Departure and arrivals were on time. DFW was a little problematic in that the Skytrain without prior notice bypassed the Echo terminal so that delayed my arrival at my connecting flight.

Late boarding to clean plane from previous flight; initial boarding announcement not loud enough; fantastic cabin attendant front of plane

Delayed flight, few announcements with information, no comps, cluster f boarding because zones weren’t spread out and announced loud and repeatedly, staff did their job -nothing more nothing less, annoying kids were speaking and kicking the heck out of the back of my seat and parents weren’t willing to parent… so another typical day of air travel in the US.,

Gossipy flight attendants talked the whole flight about bar hopping and dating.

Turbulence was bad and flight attendants gossiped about going to the bar and dating. Could have better awareness.

Didn't like the 6 hour delay as it caused me to miss all of my connections. Still, I did get home safely 14 hours late but exhausted.

Flight attendants had no personality! The looked miserable! My seat was broken in first class. I can’t believe how American Airlines changed. 😞

The staff was unprofessional and didn’t communicate very well. The boarding process was very disheveled, potentially due to a power outage the previous day but there was no contingency plan to properly get passengers boarded the following day. Once boarded the aircraft stayed on the tarmac for over 45 minutes due to high winds. The communication was sporadic but an announcement was finally made an additional 30 minutes later that the flight was cancelled but we couldn’t get off the plane. Prior to deplaning one of the gate agents came on the plane and made an announcement for everyone to pickup their checked bags and take a card to rebook a new reservation because they didn’t have adequate staff. Flights were missed, passengers went to different airports and there was little to no assistance from AA.

3 hour delay was brutal though not Spirit Airlines fault. the control tower would not let us take off because of weather

Beware of all the extras. Nickel and dimed. Everything was extra. It turns a $90 fare in to a $400 fair quite easily.

It would have been nice to have been on the flight

Delayed several times. Flight was to arrive at midnight and it arrive at 3 am. A 3 hour delay is already bad but one that has you arriving in the wee hour is just disruptive and overall unacceptable. The complete lack of restitution is a joke in keeping with Spirit’s reputation of ranking bottom-low in the pecking order.

It wasn’t as horrible as I would have expected, however, to not provide water and change so much for bags is a ripoff to say the least.

Cancelled my flight , currently stuck in Houston and will likely miss my cruise

The flight attendants were very personable, extremely friendly, and had a very good feeling of the energy around them not to mention they’re very funny and engaging. What made up for the discomfort of the seats and the fact that the plane sat for a long time on the Turmac. Not sure if the pilot was new, but the landing was very rough sort of like I was at a magic mountain theme park ride that was built in 1959

Unfortunately not great, my flight was canceled with no notice given. I attempted to reach out to spirit airlines and have yet to receive any correspondence. I then had to book a new flight at two times the cost of the original.

Good except my suitcase was completely broken when it arrived on belt. Now I have to go through a process to try to get ANY back. Not happy

They changed our gate 30 minutes before boarding began. We noticed about 20 people missed their flight due to doors closing early.

Not have to pay for every single item to take a flight. Seating and delays sucked.

If you don’t check in 24 hours in advance, they will charge you $110 to check your bag instead of the $30. I did not get an email with this information and did not check in. In addition, my flight home was cancelled at layover and I had to spend the night in the airport, and then have another layover at another airport before making it home. Will not fly frontier again.

Terrible. Seats are bad and the baggage policy is inconsistent

Flight delayed 3 times, resulting in late arrival, rental car place gave car away resulting in increased BS charges because I was late. Frontier blows.

I paid for extra leg room. The flimsy plastic seat underneath the floatation seat did not line up with the arm rests. It seemed as if the plastic part was zip tied on but immovable. This caused severe uncomfortable for the duration of the flight.

Left Denver late, then sat on tarmac 30 min after arrival

Crew members are very rude and not cooperate with passengers.
