Our day excursion includes a scenic boat ride to and from our private island. Once on the island, an array of activities are available to our guests including snorkel instruction and a guided snorkeling tour. We include a Bahamian lunch, served on our southern pavilion overlooking picturesque Lower Harbour, and feature our very own Sandy Toes Gift Shop with one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Snorkeling gear, river tube floats, and kayaks are available for rent. Fresh water showers and upgraded bathrooms are also available on the island for the comfort of our guests!

Laze in the hammock garden or bask in the sun on your private beach. Also equipped with wi-fi, our beach bar is a great social atmosphere where you can mingle with our friendly staff or meet fellow travelers!

Pickup/Departure:

10:00 am DEPARTURE from Paradise Island - 3:45 pm RETURN to Paradise Island:

The boat will depart from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal at 10:00 am sharp. Please ensure you are at the terminal by 9:30 am at the latest. If you miss the excursion you will be deemed a no-show and there will be no refund.

If you are arriving via cruise ship:

Sandy Toes is not responsible for guest errors concerning cruise ship port times or port locations. Sandy Toes is an excursion out of Nassau, Bahamas by way of Paradise Island, NOT  Freeport Island, Bahamas. Sandy Toes does not provide pick-up from the cruise ship port, and highly recommends that our guests utilize the land taxi's that line the entrance to Festival Place as well as the wharf. Sandy Toes does  NOT  encourage guests to take the water taxi as a mode of transportation to reach the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal. They have continually provided our guests with misinformation and Sandy Toes will not assume responsibility for information the guest receives.

If you've selected and paid for hotel transfers, please take note of the following pick-up times, based on your hotel's location. All bus pick-ups are from your hotel's front door unless otherwise stated in parenthesis behind the hotel name. All Bus pick-ups are provided by MAJESTIC TOURS. Please note that bus pick-ups are only available for Nassau hotels, NOT Paradise Island. We are just a short walk or taxi ride from any Paradise Island hotel. Our boat is docked right next to the Margaritaville Restaurant between the two bridges, at the Paradise Island ferry terminal.

** Please print this voucher to present to your Majestic Tours bus driver on the morning of the excursion. Please note that the name of the bus company picking you up will be "Majestic Tours". If you are not receiving bus transfers, please bring your voucher to the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal to receive your boarding passes for the boat.

To ensure on-time departures, Sandy Toes enforces a strict check-in policy. Check-in closes 10 minutes before our 10:00 am departure. Any guest who has not checked in at the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal by 9:50 am on the day of their excursion forfeits their seat and is subject to the tour's 100% cancellation fee, and will be deemed a "no-show" guest.

Sandy Toes is not responsible if you miss your bus or miss the excursion.

Anyone at 100.4 or higher will not be permitted to travel. He/She will be refunded and  allowed to take (1) person  with them and also be refunded (in case it is a child or elderly person). All other persons in the party will be expected to travel and will not be refunded.

All cancellations MUST be received by email noting the particulars of the reservation and the reason for cancellation.

Sandy Toes is not responsible for missed excursion dates. There will be no refund or credit provided if you book the incorrect date.

Family of woman killed by sharks in Bahamas shares new details of attack, calls for 'safety measures'

The family of a 21-year-old California woman who died in a shark attack last month in the Bahamas is calling for tour groups in the Caribbean country to be better prepared for emergencies.

Jordan Lindsey 's family released a statement Tuesday "out of concern for others who may be faced with a life-threatening incident while on vacation in the Bahamas."

"Although nothing can change the outcome of the tragedy we've suffered, our hope in speaking out is that mandatory safety measures are put in place, so this is less likely to happen again," the statement read.

As shark attacks in the Bahamas have made headlines in recent weeks, the family urged travelers who book tours with excursion companies to look beyond online reviews and make certain the companies have "basic safety measures or first aid equipment in place."

"When we booked the Sandy Toes Day Excursion to Rose Island, we assumed they would have procedures in place to help in the event of an emergency," they wrote.

Lindsey and her mother, Kami, were snorkeling together off Rose Island on June 26 when three sharks pounced on Lindsey, biting her multiple times.

Though some news stories reported that other family members saw the sharks prior to the attack and yelled out to the pair, the family said that wasn't true.

It also wasn't true that Sandy Toes staffers tried to help Lindsey as the attack was happening, the family added.

"A few news reports indicated that Sandy Toes' staff members jumped in the water to help but that is incorrect, no one jumped in. Shockingly, no staff mobilized to assist in any way," they said.

After the attack, Lindsey's mother dragged her to a rocky shore where staff members pulled them out of the water, according to the statement.

"Once out of the water, there was no medical attention provided to Jordan. They had no first aid kit — no basic supplies for any type of injury," the family said.

A small boat finally arrived with only one staff member on board, the family said.

"There were no medical or emergency supplies in the boat. The only thing provided were towels which were used to cover Jordan's legs. The staff provided no first aid whatsoever," the family said.

The boat took the pair to a dock where an ambulance was waiting to take them to Doctor's Hospital, where Lindsey was pronounced dead.

The statement went on to blast the Sandy Toes tour company for not notifying Lindsey's family members who were on Rose Island about the attack. Instead, the statement said, the family members learned about the attack after noticing other snorkelers on the island crying.

The Sandy Toes website notes that guests must sign a waiver to participate and that the company "is not responsible for any personal property or injury to guests while on the excursion."

Sandy Toes denied the family's claims about its staff's response to the attack in a statement to TODAY.

"We would once again like to extend our deepest and sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Jordan Lindsey who recently passed away as a result of a shark attack in waters near Rose Island in The Bahamas,'' the company said. "All reasonable steps were taken to prevent this very unfortunate incident and our staff responded swiftly and in line with our emergency protocols and procedures. We continue to pray for the Lindsey family and all those who have been impacted by this tragic occurrence."

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism said in a statement to TODAY that it will "review this incident and this family's concerns."

In an effort to prevent a similar tragedy from happening again, the family suggested the following tips to tour groups in the Bahamas:

• Designate a staffer as a "spotter" whose sole job is to stand guard and look for sharks or other predators as well as snorkelers who may be in distress so they could be warned or helped immediately.
• Have an emergency plan in place for incidents like shark attacks, but also for more common medical incidents like animal bites, jellyfish stings or even in case of heart attacks or falls.
• Have medical supplies on all tours and provide first aid training to staff members so that they are willing and able to provide immediate response during emergencies.

The family said by sharing their story they hoped to send "a warning and an appeal for greater regulations to be imposed in the Bahamas."

"We would not be able to live with ourselves if we didn't speak out and later hear that another family suffered the same devastating loss," they wrote.

Family of woman killed by sharks in Bahamas recalls daughter's last moments

The family took a trip to an island famous for snorkeling and swimming pigs.

Jordan Lindsey, a 21-year-old Loyola-Marymount University student from Torrance, California, was killed in a shark attack in the Bahamas in June.

In an exclusive interview airing Wednesday on "Good Morning America," her family members discuss how they've begun to cope with her tragic loss.

It was on the third day of a family vacation when they decided to take a last-minute excursion through the Sandy Toes Tour Company to Rose Island -- a spot famous for snorkeling and for petting swimming pigs.

"I wish they didn't let us on, of course, but they -- they snuck us on," Jordan's father, Michael Lindsey, told "GMA."

"Myself, my two boys, and Jordan's girlfriend, Gianna, were on another part of the island, just swimming on the beach side," he recalled. "My wife, Kami, and Jordan went snorkeling on another part of the island. My wife was near Jordan, a few feet away."

It was then that a school of sharks suddenly pounced on Jordan.

"Kami said she heard Jordan yell like, 'Mom,' like, and then she -- Kami -- looked back, and the first thing was, she thought dolphins were around Jordan," Lindsey continued. "And then she ... then she realized, like, right away that, like, Jordan, was screaming."

Kami swam toward Jordan as fast as she could.

Jordan's right arm was torn off in the attack, and she suffered bites to her left arm, both legs and buttocks, authorities said.

Kami attempted to pull Jordan to safety, but then another shark attacked her.

"And then," Lindsey said, "Jordan said, 'Mom, there's another shark coming!' And then the second shark hit her. The second shark hit again, like, on her lower leg. And then that's the last thing … Jordan said."

After a brutal struggle to get Jordan out of the water that included hitting the shark, Jordan was pulled onto a nearby island where they waited for a boat to take them to shore for medical assistance.

Jordan was losing consciousness, barely clinging to life, when the boat finally arrived -- with no medical supplies.

"They put towels over her leg … there was no first aid kit," her father told "GMA."

The boat rushed Jordan to a dock where an ambulance was waiting for her, but by the time Lindsey got the hospital, he was too late.

"I walked in," he recalled, "and they said, 'Your daughter's gone.'"

The family hasn't been the same since Jordan's tragic death.

"Kami, of course, had the worst, like, 10 times the worst thing," Lindsey continued. "She has her daughter die in her arms on a trip. I mean, we cry every night still. And -- Kami has -- like, she doesn't like the nights. Because … when she closes her eyes, she's back in that water again. She's seen all the blood. She seen her poor daughter die in her arms."

Jordan's girlfriend, Gianna Gabrielle-Kasparek, who was with the Lindsey family at the time, said Jordan "had the biggest heart."

"She cared a lot about me and her family," she added. "She'd always worry about all of us. And she probably worried about us more than she worried about herself."

Sandy Toes Tour Company extended condolences and prayers for Jordan and her family after her death and reportedly added new safety measures including shark spotters on tours.

"All reasonable steps were taken to prevent this very unfortunate incident and our staff responded swiftly and in line with our emergency protocols and procedure," the company said in a statement.

The Lindsey family wants to prevent what happened to Jordan from happening to anyone else.

When asked about what kind of changes he would like to see put in place, Michael Lindsey was succinct: "Definitely have some kind of medical training for everyone. From the captain all the way down to the deck hands. Everyone should know … what to do in case there is some kind of big tragedy like that … and then have the supplies to stop bleeding or if someone has a heart attack."

Lindsey went on to describe his daughter as his "little guardian angel."

"She took care of me," he said. "I just ... I remember kissing her on the forehead, and that's the last time I seen her. I just kissed her on the forehead and said, 'I'll -- I'll see you later, Jordan.'"
