Stanley Mountain Vacuum Insulated Switchback Mug – A Quick Review

There are plenty of insulated containers to carry your beverages around in, so it’s easy to understand why people switch allegiances so easily. But the one I’ve been using a lot lately goes with me everywhere.

The Stanley Mountain Vacuum Insulated Switchback Mug is built from 18/8 stainless steel vacuum insulation, so it won’t rust.

It’s also naturally BPA-free. When it’s dirty, just put it in your dishwasher—because it’s dishwasher safe. No extra time hand washing.

The slimmed-down design has reduced its weight substantially: the 12-ounce mug weighs 0.6 pounds and the 16-ounce mug weighs 0.75 pounds. The mug also fits easily into car cup holders.

Carry it the way you do other insulated vessels, or use the overmolded finger loop to carry with one finger or more. You can also use the loop to clip to a pack with a carabiner.

Other great highlights about the Switchback Mug are a grit guard that covers your drink surface during travel and a push-button lid that you can operate with one hand. Open, drink, and close while you walk.

I chose the 12-ounce model primarily for the easy of packability, as it’s just a little smaller than the 16-ounce Switchback.

The leak-proof mug gets tossed into my carry-on bag more times than I can count, and I don’t have to worry about whether bringing it along will displace something else I need for the trip.

Besides, that option to clip the mug onto your bag—invaluable when you’re cramming as much as possible into your bag.

The double-wall vacuum keeps your hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for hours on end. I’ve been known to pour piping-hot tea into my Switchback and forget about it somewhere in the house while I freak out over a deadline. Hours later, I remember it, and my tea is still hot.

What do I expect upon arrival? All fitness equipment are in their original box and unopened. Once they are delivered to your home, at least 3 to 4 persons will be needed to unload the item (especially for the NordicTrack treadmills). For some other machines 2-3 persons will do. If you need extra assistance, it is in your discretion to discuss directly with the driver and the helper.

What if there is a defect with my purchase? Please note that the equipment are in their original boxes and have not been opened or tested. These boxes have traveled from their overseas factory to our warehouses – and finally to your home. This means some components may have shifted, etc. Should you encounter issues with your purchase, we would be glad to fix them once travel restrictions are lifted. At this time we may not be able to handle repairs and replacements. We do not allow the equipment to be sent back as well – as we cannot guarantee they will be received back in good condition and thus will be deemed as ‘Not Received.’

Will you be able to install or assemble my purchase? To minimize unnecessary contact, we won’t be offering our in-home assembly and installation service.

What about product warranties? Please refer to the listing on our website for details of warranties per product.

What if I change my mind about my purchase? If the item has been delivered (or has left our facility), the cost of sending it back will be due to the customer. Provided the box is unopened or the product is unused, we will issue a refund (less 6% for online transaction fee). If the item has not yet been delivered and has not yet left our facility, only the online transaction fee of 6% will be deducted from the refund.
