Sabrina Carpenter Just Opened for Taylor Swift Wearing a Crystal-and-Lace Corset
Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has already stopped at dozens of U.S. cities, but now, it's officially gone international. Last night, Swift descended upon Mexico City, where she'll play four more nights before moving on to Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paolo later this year. You know what that means: New countries equal new opening acts, and none other than Sabrina Carpenter is now on the billing.
Making her Eras Tour debut last night, Carpenter wore a custom outfit by Ukrainian designer Frolov. "The new custom designs we've crafted for Sabrina are essentially twin dresses inspired by the pink gown from our couture collection she wore recently," Creative Director Ivan Frolov said in a statement. "Seeing how she and her styling team loved this look, we've decided to create two new exclusive versions using unique lace designs. The black corset dress has sparkling lace embellished with white crystals and showcases our signature heart-shaped cutout." Scroll down to see the photos and shop Frolov pieces for yourself.

“It Was Magic”: Sabrina Carpenter Talks Kicking Off Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour
By Christian Allaire
On Thursday night, Taylor Swift brought her record-breaking Eras tour to Mexico City—and the hits-filled show marked the start of a new opening act for singer Sabrina Carpenter. (Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers, and Beabadoobee have all opened for Swift, too.) “Night one felt unlike any crowd I’ve ever played to before,” says Carpenter. “It was magic.” With another show slated in CDMX this evening, Carpenter will continue to serve as Swift’s opening act through November, with dates in Argentina and Brazil. “It’s a great privilege,” says Carpenter. “Getting to tour with someone I love that greatly inspires me, and also has the kindest and most welcoming fan base ever—I feel so lucky to be part of such an indelible tour.”
Of course, prepping for such an experience was no easy feat. But luckily, for Carpenter, she’s already been in serious training mode for well over a year now. “I’ve been dreaming this up for a while, and thankfully I just got off a year-long tour of my own, so I felt like that helped me prepare,” says Carpenter. Even so, the Eras tour marks a whole new setlist and stage vibe for the singer, explaining that she wanted to devote all her effort to the performance. “I wanted to bring a lot of energy, since I’m 5 feet tall and there’s a lot of people,” jokes Carpenter. “So my band and I put a very fun show together.”
Carpenter also wanted to bring her fashion A-game to each concert, too. Working with the Ukrainian brand Frolov , Carpenter has committed to two custom looks for her Eras shows—a black and blue strapless mini dress, both with heart cut-outs at the bust. “I’m in my short skirt era—no surprise to anyone—but I felt especially attached to this custom Frolov look,” says Carpenter. “I wore it once before, [and] they were kind enough to make it for me in multiple colors. It really just shines on stage in a way I love.” The singer also loved their practical and wearable design. “They make such beautiful cutouts that feel sturdy and secure, so I don’t question moving in them,” says Carpenter.
As for what can we expect as the tour progresses? Perhaps the singer will debut some new fashions in the later dates—but for now, Carpenter is keeping things a secret. “You will have to wait and see,” teases Carpenter. “but I don’t play when it comes to my outfit, so...”

Sabrina carpenter opens taylor swift’s eras tour in style.
After fifty-three dazzling shows in the United States, Taylor Swift has brought her iconic Eras Tour down to Mexico City for four nights only. But many didn’t just come to see Taylor Swift & Sabrina Carpenter shone with her own hits, such as “Nonsense” and “All Because I Liked A Boy.”
After wrapping up a one year-long tour for her iconic album, Emails I Can’t Send , Carpenter took the Eras Tour stage by storm. She began the first night with a custom dress by Ukrainian designer Ivan Frolov–a designer she is quite fond of. His piece incorporates sparkling lace designs on a short black corset dress, fully embellished in white crystal. The bodice boasts a heart-shaped cutout, Frovlov’s signature design. Her tall black heeled boots complemented the look perfectly, adding an edge to her already perfect pop-star persona.
Her second look shared a similar shape and style, but in powder blue. Coupled with white garter tights and boots, Carpenter exuded an angelic vibe. Her hair fell loose and free at her shoulders, mimicking the carefree nature of her music. Carpenter tells Vogue “I’m in my short skirt era—no surprise to anyone—but I felt especially attached to this custom Frolov look.” She goes on to mention that the structured bodice allows her to move any which way, as her set requires high-energy dancing.
It’s no secret that Carpenter idolizes Swift–Sabrina’s set opens with a video of her singing Swift’s “Picture to Burn” at just nine years old. Standing at five feet tall, Carpenter truly brought big energy to Mexico City. Even after careful preparation, Carpenter reveals that she has never played for such an electric crowd. It helps that the “Swifties” have welcomed her with open arms! Carpenter is set to continue touring with Swift in November for the Argentina and Brazil dates. Until then, we’ll all be dreaming of what her next outfit will be.

Sabrina Carpenter’s Tribute To Taylor Swift Marked The End Of The “Taybrina Era”
Her Eras Tour run is over.
Another Eras Tour era is over. Taylor Swift is taking the show to Europe in May, and that means Sabrina Carpenter’s time as the opener has ended . Carpenter helped Swift close out another leg on March 9 in Singapore, and after returning home, she took the time to share some reflections, highlights, and gratitude with her fans.
The Eras “Magic”
It seems like the Eras Tour’s openers love the experience as much as the fans do. Carpenter joined the tour for Swift’s Latin American shows in August and November, followed by Australia in February and Singapore in March. On March 23, with all that travel behind her, she posted a tribute to her “Taybrina era” on Instagram.
“that’s a wrap for us on the eras tour,” she began, adding a sad emoticon. “sitting at home reflecting on what a whirlwind this was and how very honored i feel to have been part of it.”
Carpenter then proceeded to thank the many people she was grateful for, including “every crowd for being so welcoming and generous” (not to mention “making some of the most impressive friendship bracelets [she’s] ever received”) and “the incredible crew.” And, of course, she had sweet words for Swift herself.
View on Instagram
“and the most thank you’s I’ve ever thank you’d to Taylor,” she added. “I feel so lucky to witness the magic that is you and this tour. there is truly no one like you and there never will be! i love you with all my heart and i will cherish this taybrina era (and all the eras) till the end of time.”
A Dream Come True
From the jump, Carpenter couldn’t say enough good things about being a part of the Eras Tour. She was announced as one of the opening acts in June, and she wrote on Instagram that she was “trying to process” it before calling it “a dream come true.” As of January, she told Who What Wear that she was still working on it, saying, “I still probably have not processed it if I’m being completely honest with you.”
Carpenter shared highlights from shows on her social media while she was on the road with Swift, and her posts showed just how lucky she felt throughout her run. In one particularly sweet one, she uploaded a clip of her singing “White Horse” with Swift and wrote, “9 year old Sabrina singing white horse would never see this sh*t coming! i love you so so so dearly taylor. always have always will.”
Although Carpenter’s Eras Tour gig is over, there are many more shows to come. Swift has a short break , and then she’ll return to the stage in Paris in May, with Paramore as her opener.

How Sabrina Carpenter's style has evolved, from her Disney star days to stealing the spotlight at Coachella
- Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below
Sabrina Carpenter's style has evolved since she rose to fame as a Disney star.
Her red carpet and concert fashion has become more daring through the years.
Carpenter perfected the sheer trend on and off the stage and is now synonymous with minidresses.
If anyone is in the running for the crown of pop music's princess, it's Sabrina Carpenter .
In the past year, the 24-year-old opened for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour , took the stage at Coachella , made headlines for dating "Saltburn" star Barry Keoghan , and recently released "Espresso," which is on track to become this summer's biggest hit.
But Carpenter is no stranger to the spotlight. Her singing and acting career spans over a decade and includes appearances on Disney Channel TV shows and movies, including "Girl Meets World" and "Adventures in Babysitting."
From child star to pop princess, Carpenter has honed her style just as she has her career. She's become synonymous with playful minidresses onstage and daring sheer looks on the red carpet.
Here's a look at Carpenter's fashion evolution .
During one of her early red-carpet appearances for Nickelodeon in 2014, Carpenter experimented with edgy footwear and darker tones.
She wore a black playsuit cinched at the waist with a silver belt. Carpenter coordinated with a bold silver necklace, keeping her hair in loose, natural curls.
Being around 5 feet tall, Carpenter is known for wearing platform footwear. This early red-carpet appearance, where she wore a pair of black-and-gold laced platform heels with bedazzled stockings, was no different.
She attended her first Emmys in a gothic Gemy Maalouf gown.
The gown featured silver embroidery and a semi-sheer skirt. Carpenter paired it with black strappy heels and a gray marbled clutch.
In 2017, Carpenter was spotted rocking daring fashion in the front row at notable runway shows.
For example, at Coach's NYFW show that year, she wore a sheer skirt with a pink button-up, which she layered under a red biker jacket decorated with poppies and black-and-white lace trim. She completed the look with black stilettos.
That year, she also started experimenting with more daring looks while performing.
In July 2017, she took to the stage in LA wearing a sheer lace dress over black zip-up shorts. Carpenter coordinated her all-black look with chunky black boot heels with gold sequins.
For her first VMAs appearance in 2018, the "Espresso" singer wore an asymmetrical Versace gown, complete with a high collar and slit.
She paired the bandage-style dress with nude pointed-toe heels, white nail polish, and minimal jewelry. She styled her hair in a loose bun.
Carpenter put her signature playful spin on the power suit at the 2019 premiere of "Tall Girl."
She ditched a shirt and accessorized her 1970s-inspired silver look with a dramatic pink dew-drop earring.
The pop princess went all in on the "naked" dress trend at the 2020 MTV Movie and TV Awards.
Her sparkly see-through gown, designed by Ralph and Russo, had one long sleeve. She wore it with black lingerie and platform heels.
Carpenter mastered edginess when she arrived at the 2021 Savage X Fenty Show premiere wearing a white T-shirt as a dress.
The minidress was cinched at the waist with a black studded belt. She leaned into the show's sultry aesthetic with wet hair and red lipstick.
She nailed the 2022 Met Gala's "Gilded Glamour" dress code in a gold ensemble designed by Julien Dossena at Paco Rabanne.
The heavy sequin-and-rhinestone ensemble consisted of a flowing high-waisted skirt and a coordinating bralette. She completed the look with Jimmy Choo heels.
Carpenter described the event as her "Super Bowl" to Vogue and praised her outfit for being "shockingly comfortable," adding to her confidence.
Later that year, Carpenter walked the American Music Awards red carpet in a silver fringed Oscar de la Renta two-piece.
The outfit consisted of a fringed crop top and miniskirt. She accessorized with coordinating silver jewelry and heels.
She partnered with Paco Rabanne again for her daring 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party look.
Her dress featured a ruched white skirt and a semi-sheer top with floral accents around the chest and wrists.
In 2023, Carpenter started opening for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour, where she fully leaned into her love for miniskirts and sparkles.
She wore one of her most memorable Eras Tour looks during a Buenos Aires show in November. Her all-white outfit was made up of a $642 Seen Users corset decorated with crystal hearts, a coordinating $450 Dominnico leather skirt, and glittery custom-made Naked Wolfe heels.
Carpenter brought an element of her daring onstage fashion to the red carpet at a pre-Grammys gala in February.
For the event, she wore a black David Koma gown with a silver rose embellishment, turtleneck, and thigh-high slit.
Carpenter was one of the most talked-about performers at Coachella, where she wore a baby-blue look with a matching moto jacket.
Carpenter looked in her element onstage at Coachella , wearing a bespoke pastel-blue Frolov minidress with lace trim and silver heart detailing. She completed her outfit with a coordinating cropped vintage leather jacket and a $480 pair of metallic Givenchy sunglasses.

Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter Bring ‘White Horse’ to Life on the Eras Tour
The magic of the “Eras Tour” continues to unfold, this time with a dream collaboration that took fans by surprise. In Sydney, Australia, Taylor Swift and rising pop star Sabrina Carpenter joined forces for a stunning rendition of Swift’s early country hit, “White Horse.” The unexpected duet instantly became a highlight of the tour, sending Swifties and Carpenter fans into a collective frenzy.
The moment itself was pure enchantment. Carpenter, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, donned a flowing white dress, mirroring the ethereal vibes of the original music video. The two artists stood center stage, their voices intertwining beautifully on the nostalgic melody. Swift’s seasoned vocals blended seamlessly with Carpenter’s youthful charm, creating a harmonious reimagining of the beloved song.
The emotional weight of the performance wasn’t lost on the audience. “White Horse,” released in 2008, marked a pivotal point in Swift ‘s career, establishing her as a storytelling songwriter. Performing it alongside Carpenter, an artist heavily influenced by Swift’s early work, felt like a passing of the torch, an acknowledgment of musical lineage and shared artistic DNA.
But the magic didn’t stop there. After the performance, Swift surprised fans by acknowledging Carpenter’s upcoming album, “emails I can’t send,” on her Instagram story. This seemingly simple gesture fueled speculation about a potential future collaboration, further elevating the excitement surrounding the duet.
This wasn’t the first time the “Eras Tour” has surprised audiences with cross-generational collaborations. Throughout the tour, Swift has welcomed fellow musicians like Haim, Ben Platt, and Phoebe Bridgers, creating unique moments that transcend individual eras. These collaborations celebrate the interconnectedness of music, showcasing the influence of past generations on contemporary artists like Carpenter.
The Swift-Carpenter duet resonated with fans beyond nostalgia and musicality. It represented a powerful message of female empowerment and mentorship. Seeing them share the stage felt like a declaration of solidarity, reminding everyone that the music industry isn’t a competition but a collaborative space where artists can learn, inspire, and uplift each other.
The impact of this performance extends far beyond the concert hall. It’s a testament to the enduring power of “White Horse” and its ability to connect artists and fans across generations. It sparks conversations about mentorship, artistic legacies, and the ever-evolving landscape of pop music.
Whether or not a Swift-Carpenter collaboration materializes, the “White Horse” duet has etched itself into “Eras Tour” history. It serves as a reminder that music is timeless, capable of bridging eras and fostering meaningful connections between artists and fans alike. With this surprise performance, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter have proven that musical magic happens when eras collide, leaving fans wondering what unexpected collaborations might still be in store for the “Eras Tour.”

Has Taylormania surpassed Beatlemania?
John emailed the Guardian just now with this beautiful note:
I am in my 70s. Two years ago I had scarcely heard of Taylor Swift. Now here I am following your blog of her Melbourne concert. It is very moving. I hope all these wonderful young people have a magnificent time. I haven’t had this much fun since the Beatles in the 60s. It was easier to get tickets then.

Cute video from the fans
Dressing for a Taylor Swift concert is no easy feat. The concert is a journey through all Swift’s musical eras, broken up among her 10-album discography, and as we explained earlier, each “era” demands a very specific dress code. Tisha Aisyah Afliansh says as a recently engaged Taylor Swift fan she had no choice by to encompass the Lover era. “I just found this [dress] in H&M, but this has Lovers colours. And also matching rings and necklace; love, love.” Sarah Allsopp recreated the You Need to Calm Down music video, with fake butterfly tattoos on her back. After a quick YouTube search and little dance, I can confirm Swift sports the same back tattoo in the film clip. Guardian fact-checking at it’s finest right there.
Bree Leitch went one step further and got a snake tattoo on her arm “for the concert”. And yes, it’s real.
We’re getting some good Twitter/X footage, which bodes well for reception!

Crowds are filling the stadium now while Sabrina performs. She’s doing a cover of Hopelessly Devoted to You, in honour of Olivia Newton-John .
Here’s one of Sabrina’s hit songs, Nonsense.
Apparently Sabrina just said “Australians are so hot”, which, true.
In other news, our Guardian group chat is popping off!
Sian said earlier:
The vibes are very calm! It’s like the opposite of a sport game. Even the cops have bracelets on.
I expect this has changed now that the concert has started.
Matilda shared a pic of the free light-up bracelets she’s secured:
Sian shared her girl dinner pre-concert:

What to expect from Sabrina Carpenter’s set?
We are told there was “just an announcement and some cheers” from within the stadium, indicating Sabrina Carpenter is on stage.
Carpenter’s hit songs are Feather and Nonsense, so they will definitely get a run – but Nonsense has its own moment to watch out for: each time she plays it live she adds a few city-specific (and usually sexually explicit) lines to the outro.
For example:
“I just wanna ride him like a rodeo / But first he gotta grow it like Pinocchio / Sorry I’m so vulgar, San Antonio.”
In fact, they got so raunchy that her performance on BBC’s Live Lounge was taken off YouTube shortly after being uploaded, and was promptly replaced with a version cutting abruptly before the outro.
Luckily we have no such qualms – she sang:
“I’m American I am not British / So BBC it stands for something different / This live lounge is just so lit because I’m in it.”
It’s a savvy trick that means each time she plays you can be sure hundreds of videos will be uploaded by fans. Now a viral sensation, she was quickly snapped up by Swift to open for her during the international leg of her tour – and since her first Eras slot, she’s established another TikTok-able moment: a small dance section of the song Feather.
Who is Sabrina Carpenter?
We’re ten minutes from the scheduled start time for Sabrina Carpenter ’s opening set. We all know Swift’s 2016 villain arc (the Kanye West video) and redemption story (arguably the Lover era), but did you know that Carpenter has been through this public-opinion hero’s journey too?
The US pop star started off on the Disney Channel, playing Maya Hart on Girl Meets World. She put out a few songs during her stint on the show, and was liked well enough, but it was a different Disney star that threw Carpenter into the public eye: Olivia Rodrigo, whose hit debut album Sour was almost definitely about her breakup from Joshua Bassett, who, according to the album at least, began dating another girl VERY shortly after their split.
The hints in the lyrics of Rodrigo’s songs hint at who that girl could have been: Sabrina Carpenter, seen hanging out with Bassett in the months after the breakup – and who suffered the wrath of the internet as a result.
Luckily, she’s very funny – and as the initial wave of hate died down, she started winning people over on social media with posts like this.

Here Is Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘The Eras Tour’ Setlist
Sabrina Carpenter is currently continuing to open for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour , as she is joining her for the Australian leg of shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Carpenter took the stage at the first one of Melbourne Cricket Grounds last night to treat fans to a selection of her best songs.
Most of Carpenter’s setlist was from her most recent record, including the “Because I Liked A Boy” and “ Feather ” singles. She also opened her set by teasing the fans in the crowd with Swift’s “Picture To Burn” (one of Carpenter’s pre-show staple picks that soundtracks her childhood footage) and Blondie’s “Atomic.”
As another surprise in Carpenter’s opening act performance, she also covered “Hopelessly Devoted To You.” When Carpenter was opening for Swift’s South American leg , she had used ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” as her nightly cover instead. With night two of Melbourne happening tonight, time will tell if she keeps the Grease song in her setlist — or swap it out for something else entirely different.
Finally, Carpenter closed out her set with “Nonsense,” where she once again changed the outro and kept the running tradition going strong.
Check out Sabrina Carpenter’s setlist from Melbourne night one below, according to Setlist.FM .

Sabrina Carpenter opened for Taylor Swift at The Eras Tour concert in Mexico City last night in a dazzling number. She elevated her look for her performance by strapping on platform boots made of stretch vegan leather.
The boots had sturdy block heels and were adorned with studded elements. They were also secured with side zip closures. The boots lent an air of sophistication to her ensemble and enhanced her appearance of confidence and power.
The platform boot trend is captivating the fashion scene with its elevated soles and versatile designs. These boots effortlessly combine bold heights and edgy styles, creating a statement look. From chunky soles to studded details, they offer an eclectic blend of fashion-forward aesthetics and undeniable comfort for a confident stride.
Keeping with her love for heart-shaped clothing, she coordinated her footwear with a shimmering black dress with a heart at the center. Earlier this month, the “Nonsense” star donned a pink Barbiecore ensemble with a heart-shaped bodice and a high-low skirt that she paired with Naked Wolfe’s Spice Chalk Stretch platform boots that rose to her knees.
Sabrina Carpenter’s fashion sensibilities have transformed from her early Disney Channel days to her current stature as a pop music icon. Initially, her style leaned towards girlishness with dresses and skirts, but it has matured into an edgier blend of upscale and street fashion.

Is Sabrina Carpenter Touring Australia In 2024?
No ‘Nonsense’ here: Sabrina Carpenter might be set to tour Australia in 2024.
It’s been a huge year for Carpenter already. After wrapping her supporting legs of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the singer has enjoyed a number-one global hit in the boppy ‘Espresso,’ performed two viral sets at Coachella , and starred in a Skims campaign (a real marker of a modern it-girl, let’s be honest). Oh, and she’s found a boyfriend in Saltburn star Barry Keogan , just to top it all off. What better way to celebrate all that success with a trip Down Under? Well, it seems Team Sabrina may be thinking the same thing.
During an interview her last day in Australia back in February, Carpenter told the Today Show that an Australian tour is “very much happening.” So, how soon can we expect to be dancing to ‘Feather’ again? Scroll on for everything we know about the prospective tour so far.
Is Sabrina Carpenter Coming To Australia?
After jetting Down Under to support Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour earlier this year, the pop star has confirmed she will return for some headline shows of her own. During an interview her last day in Aus back in February, Carpenter told the Today Show that an Australian tour is “very much happening.”
During the interview, she stressed how much she had enjoyed playing for the Aussie crowds and added, “just being able to be here, like performing for technically the first time this weekend, has just made me want to come back ASAP.”
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sabrina Carpenter (@sabrinacarpenter)
However, she has not yet confirmed when, exactly she will be back. Earlier this year, Carpenter revealed that she was working on a new album, so whether Aussie shows could be part of a broader, yet-to-be-announced tour tied to a record remains to be seen. Rest assured, we’ll keep you updated when we know more.
Is Sabrina Carpenter Releasing An Album?
Yes, in a recent Interview cover story Carpenter revealed new music was in the works.
This would be the follow-up to 2022’s Emails I Can’t Send and reflecting on the song writing process she noted, “I feel a lot freer and more excited about what I’m making now because I’ve realized that genre isn’t necessarily the most important thing.” She added, “It’s about honesty and authenticity and whatever you gravitate towards. There were a lot of genres in my last album, and I like to think I’ll continue that throughout writing music.”
Watch here for updates.
