Bluffworks Travel Pants
Cargo pants are great for carrying lots of stuff, but terrible at helping you blend in when traveling. Instead, pack Bluffworks’ Travel Pants , which look like regular chinos but feature nine hidden pockets (including two phone pockets and five zippered pockets.)
The pants are surprisingly lightweight, and although they look dry-clean only, they’re actually machine washable.

For me, it’s always been a challenge to pack a bag and choose just one or two dresses that will be versatile enough to wear in different types of weather and various occasions for a single trip.
In fact, one thing I never let myself do was explore the different types of cool travel dresses out there, for women on the go. I’ve always packed a patterned maxi dress, layered it with a jean jacket, and called it a day. But I could be doing better!
I’ve learned that there are travel dresses out there made by great brands that have invented fabrics that zap moisture and sweat, minimize odors (who doesn’t get stinky on a plane?) and come with pockets .

In the list that follows, I’ve picked a few of the best dresses on the market for women travelers, so that you don’t have to do the work! Let’s dig in.
Bluffworks Threshold T-Shirt Dress
If there was ever a T-shirt dress that really rocked my world, it’s this new one from Bluffworks , the brand that builds great travel clothes for women. In the past, I’ve found T-shirt dresses to hit the wrong places on my body, but this one is both flattering and comfy. Plus, it has hidden POCKETS!
The Threshold T-shirt Dress is made from the Bluffworks proprietary Threshold fabric (I also have the Threshold tee). It works well on travel days.
My favorite part of the T-shirt dress is that it comes in petite sizing and I actually feel great in it. Regular dresses often hit my legs too far down and look like I am drowning. This dress comes in regular sizes by default, and if you’re short like I am, opt for petite sizes!
I think this T-shirt travel dress is priced pretty affordably for all the versatility it provides. I could wear it from spring to fall, layered with scarves, cardigans or tights and boots for cool nights on a trip. In these photos, I’m wearing it with my Troubadour Momentum backpack .
Check out this stylish dress to wear on an upcoming trip!
Free Fly Women’s Breeze Dress
If you’re taking a warm-weather trip that’s bound to get you into humidity, try out the Free Fly Women’s Breeze Dress . I own it in Baltic Amber and in size XS, and the feel of it is like nothing I’ve ever had in my closet before. It’s bouncy and soft on my torso and legs. Note: while the Heritage Midi Dress from Free Fly fits me great in the torso, this one is a bit big and looser.
This dress folds up small in a packing cube, and is made of a special material blend that’s meant to handle heat and humidity like a breeze . The best feature I found is the hidden zipper pocket in the right-side slash pocket. I use this for tiny things like coins or a key.
Is Free Fly worth it? See my Free Fly product experience review .
Free Fly Women's Breeze Dress
Embrace the breeze in this lightweight dress that handles heat and humidity.
Quince European Linen Dress
Everything from Quince has been so affordable, in my experience. The Quince European Linen Dress immediately makes me wish I was strolling the streets of Lisbon and about to take a quick photo with a hand-painted tile wall.
It has a timeless style and it has pockets , so I have somewhere to put some (not too valuable) essentials during vacation days. For things that hold real value like your credit cards, I’d go with a travel fanny pack or belt bag , just because the pockets on this dress don’t have zippers like the Aviator dress (below).
Nevertheless, the price can’t be beat for being made of linen, and I adore the color palette it comes in.
Get free shipping, plus 365-day returns now!
Shop the deal
Another note for short women: this one may hit too low on your leg, so check out Quince’s other dress options for a dress like the Quince Smocked Mini Dress that I can’t wait to try! I’m looking forward to putting them all in my Quince carry-on suitcase .
Keep it chic and simple with the Quince European Linen Dress, a timeless piece for any season.
Public Rec Go-To Tank Dress
I’m so glad that Public Rec has come out with some dresses! The cousin of the Public Rec Go-To Dress , the Go-To Tank Dress is a nice travel staple with a funky open back for style. It has a flirty fit and a top half that reminds me of the Public Rec muscle tank that I enjoy wearing as a travel shirt.
With a blend of Pima cotton (which I first discovered in the Public Rec Essential Tee ) and spandex, it’s an athletic fit and the material is durable. This one is great for travel in pretty hot temperatures and could be paired with my Public Rec Adapt Belt Bag .
My tip about sizing: Public Rec typically runs “true to size,” in my experience, with their products like the Essential Tee, Luxe Fleece collection and joggers. The Go-To Tank Dress runs a bit wider than I’d like, so I have some fabric gaps at the side that will probably make this dress less of a “go” for me. Keep this in mind about your build if you like this dress, because it’s good for larger-chested women (proportionally) as well as women who might feel like they have more of a standard (non-petite) body type.
Keep it simple with the Public Rec Go-To Tank Dress, a chic travel dress.
Bluffworks Threshold Tie Waist T-Shirt Dress
The Threshold Tie-Waist T-Shirt Dress is the second travel dress from Bluffworks. It has a flattering look that is not too tight, and originally the tie-waist scared me off, but it works out really well. It can be worn in the front (my preference), or even the back. Check out the photos here of me modeling the six usable pockets.
At an affordable price point for the quality you get with Bluffworks, I think this one’s an easy decision. This type of dress can be totally casual for a day to day while traveling, and would look nice as a base layer for more business casual outfits if you have that use during your trip.
This one differs from the Bluffworks original T-shirt dress because it has the nice touch of cuffed sleeves, and I like this a lot. One of the biggest benefits is that this tie-waist style is a classic, so if you put your budget toward a dress like this, it’ll last for years.
See why this travel dress makes a great wardrobe staple.
Free Fly Bamboo Heritage Midi Dress
I slid this Free Fly dress on when I got it. It’s called a “midi” dress because it is supposed to fall at the mid-calf, but for me, at 5’2,” the hemline falls at my ankles in size XS. Keep this in mind! I actually really like that the bamboo viscose fabric feels a little heavier than other dresses I’ve worn, becuase it doesn’t show underwear lines and I appreciate this.
The Heritage Midi Dress has UPF 50+ sun protection, and it is fitted at the top with a natural flow throughout the rest of the body. I like the flattering scoop neck and the hand pockets at the waist! It looks good with a jean jacket when I put on a layer for cooler evenings on a vacation.
To see more products from Free Fly, check out my list of the best women’s travel shorts and you’ll find some recommendations there.
Free Fly Women's Bamboo Heritage Midi Dress
A breezy and comfortable cotton-bamboo viscose dress with a scoop neck.
Aviator Chambray Travel Dress
This long-sleeve denim-look travel dress from Aviator is a new one of my travel finds. It’s a sturdy chambray and I can dress it up with sandals in spring or boots in the fall. What stands out to me about this dress is of course, the pockets, which even have Aviator’s signature YKK zippers.
This chambray dress has a waist tie for closure and flattery. For my Aviator dress, I took Aviator up on their FREE tailoring, and had it taken in at the shoulders and at the length because I’m petite. Now it fits great! Most women say it fits between “to size” and “on the big side.” So, you might want to size down.
I prefer to wear it with the sleeves folded up, as I’m not one for the long-sleeve look. For more photos, see my detailed Aviator Chambray Travel Dress review . My tip : This dress is currently being discontinued and is on “dead stock” only, so it’s discounted on Aviator’s website ! Most sizes are available, but note that it is Final Sale .
Try out Aviator's newest travel product for women during your next trip.
Icebreaker Women’s Merino Granary Sleeveless Dress
I learned about the Icebreaker brand because Dan really likes his Icebreaker merino wool crew sweatshirt . I was glad to find out that Icebreaker makes great women’s apparel in their signature merino wool blend.
Merino wool is one of the best materials for travel, because it’s soft and strong, as well as lightweight and fine. The Granary Sleeveless Dress is 100% merino wool and is a minimalist travel dress with a subtle cap sleeve and a modest knee length.
A dress like this would be good if you plan to take a trip that involves some sightseeing that requires modest dress, like religious temples or sacred places — think Israel or Sri Lanka .
As for fit, it runs pretty long and overall, I think Icebreaker runs big in women’s sizes. If you are a pretty standard build and average height, you still might want to size down . I have Icebreaker’s merino tee for women, and that runs big, too. Check out my photos for a close-up on the fabric and for how small it folds up in your luggage!
Icebreaker Women's Merino Granary Sleeveless Dress
Stay cool and comfortable with the Icebreaker Women's Merino Granary Sleeveless Dress, a versatile piece for any wardrobe.
Athleta Elation V-Neck Dress
I became familiar with Athleta via my Athleta leggings with pockets that I mention in my list of the best travel pants for women . They make dresses, too! The Elation V-Neck Hybrid Dress is a pretty and flattering summery dress that I can’t stop looking at because it’s so breezy and easy.
It’s an ultralightweight dress made of polyester and spandex that comes in inclusive sizes of XS to 3XL! It’s fitted at the torso and then flares out for keeping you cool.
Embrace comfort and elegance with the Athleta Elation V-Neck Dress, perfect for casual outings or dressier occasions.
Toad & Co. Grom Tank Dress
This super casual v-neck dress from the brand Toad & Co. comes in both solids and stripes, and has hand pockets to boot! I’ll pair this one with sneakers or sandals for sure because it has a cool T-shirt vibe to it.
It’s made of hemp and organic cotton, so it dries fast, controls odors and is lightweight, making it a simple option to roll up into a packing cube for a tropical trip.
As a bonus, like with other products from Toad & Co., you can often find a few of the colors on sale at any given time.
Bask in the summer sun with the Toad & Co. Grom Tank Dress, your ultimate casual style statement.
Patagonia Regenerative Organic Certified™ Cotton Essential Dress
This long-sleeve casual dress from Patagonia caught my eye because it is super chill. And of course, I had to search for if it has pockets: it does! It has a totally relaxed fit, so think of pairing it with walking sneakers and a baseball cap. You could also wear it with leggings and boots in winter or fall.
As for specifics, this Patagonia travel dress is Fair Trade Certified™, and made from 100% Regenerative Organic Certified™ cotton. It has raglan-style sleeves, two slit pockets and that “Retro Fitz Roy Patagonia logo” that every traveler wants on their chest. What’s not to love?
Patagonia Cotton Essential Dress
This laid-back long-sleeve dress for chilled-out travelers has pockets and a cozy vibe.
tentree Arden Dress
The Arden Dress from tentree has pockets — can you believe it? This travel dress is a blend of Lyocell, recycled polyester and organic cotton that has a two-way stretch knit. For now, it comes in the “core color” of Meteorite Black.
I like the gathered neck, hand pockets, elastic gathered waist and sleeveless look. I’d wear this one in Central America or Southeast Asia, or a summer in Europe. This dress is specifically meant for summer, and for keeping you cool with the gentle fabric. Lastly, it’s easily machine washable.
Embrace comfort and sustainability with the tentree Arden Dress, crafted from recycled fabrics.
prAna Jewel Lake Summer Dress
prAna’s cool high-neck flare dress is stretchy with a detailed back. It’s the only one of its kind, in this entire list of travel dresses!
There are pockets in this travel dress, too (two hand slit pockets at the hips). It has a built-in shelf bra (with removable pads), so that you don’t need to wear one if you don’t need to! I also think it’s an ideal day-to-night dress to bring on a warm and tropical trip. In the black color, you could even dress it up a whole bit more.
This high-neck relaxed dress is made for warm-weather holiday breaks.
KUHL Vantage Dress
KUHL is an adventure and outdoors brand, so I was glad to see they have a dress available for women travelers. The Vantage dress comes in four bold colors, and is sized XS-XL.
As all KUHL products are created for being on the go and being active, the dress has moisture management, odor resistance, sun protection at UPF 50+ and a four-way fabric stretch. There are pockets right below the elastic waist!
This travel dress is fairly casual, so if your trip is active (I probably wouldn’t wear this dress for biking or climbing) like if you’re camping, doing a lot of walking or going on an easy hike, pack this dress in your bag.
Dress to impress with the KUHL Vantage Dress, a versatile piece that combines comfort with contemporary fashion.
REI Co-op Trailmade Dress
Zipper pocket alert: the REI Co-op Trailmade Dress has one, for three pockets in total. It’s a dress that was actually designed for women who love to hike and be outdoors, with UPF 50+ sun protection.
As for the fabric, the REI Trailmade Dress is made of a lightweight nylon/spandex blend with 2-way stretch. It’s quick-drying and moisture-wicking, making it the ultimate dress for “roughing it.”
REI makes a point that this dress is geared toward women of all sizes, as it comes in sizes XS to 3XL.
Travel in style and comfort with the REI Co-op Trailmade Dress, perfect for all types of trips.
Peruvian Connection Le Marais Dress
Probably the most elegant dress in the list, this summery travel dress has a beautifully flattering neckline and a flare hem that will look pretty in photos. It’s a blend of pima cotton and spandex, so it has a slight stretch in its softness. It’s perfect as a go-anywhere dress that’ll pack up into a compression cube and be ready to go.
Peruvian Connection is a company founded from the love of Peruvian textiles, evolving into a global company. The brand’s mission is to support Andean artisans with luxurious fibers and to provide well-paying job opportunities locally.
Travel elegantly in this timeless dress with pockets
Why should you trust me?
I’ve been traveling on my own since 2009, and I know what makes a good piece of clothing to have in my suitcase!
I’ve been through items that have broken or ripped during trips, as well as clothes that have shown sweat, haven’t washed easily and haven’t stood the test of time.
The garments I recommend in this list are clothes I have personally tested already, or ones I plan to wear, and I’m happy with how they look and how they feel.
Also, the brands listed are ones from which I already own other travel clothes (check out my list of the best women’s pants for travel , as well as the best women’s shirts for travel ).

25 Genius Travel Dresses For Comfort, Function & Style & Skort Dresses With Pockets
Last Updated on July 6, 2022 by Eve Dawes
Dresses with built in shorts, hidden pockets, that are easy to pack and wrinkle resistant are perfect for your summer vacations
Travel dresses and dresses with built in shorts aka the skort dress with pockets and skort romper dress aren’t just for sports. There are some super cute styles this year in the prettiest trending colors like pink , blue , yellow and green that are both stylish, functional and make the perfect travel dresses. I’ve been into skorts this year so as soon as I saw these I stocked up as they’re so good for comfort, windy days and more practical than mini skirts. If you’re looking for airplane and traveling outfits , I have a separate blog post for those.
This skort romper post contains affiliate links.
What really sold me on these travel dresses was the hidden pocket that’s big enough for my phone. I love mini bags but they don’t normally fit your phone.
Dresses with built in shorts and hidden pockets solves that issue without having bulky pockets on the outside. Plus it’s easier to reach than getting it out of your bag all of the time and harder for pick pockets to get hold of.
The best travel dresses with built in shorts aka skort dresses
The most comfortable, practical and best travel dresses are:
- Ones that don’t crease as much as materials like linen.
- Are comfortable in case you’re also flying in them.
- Have built in shorts for hopping on and off public transport, getting in and out of cars, and lots of walking around exploring.
- Have a pocket(s) that’s big enough for your phone is an added bonus which is why there’s a lot of travel dresses with pockets in this curated list.
- Adjustable straps for the perfect fit.
- Stretchy material since vacations are for eating and drinking after all.
- Built in bras.
- Moisture wicking material like the Victoria’s Secrets dress for walking around during the Summer.
Travel dresses | Shop the best skort dresses for Summer 2022
These skort dresses are all on the more affordable side so it doesn’t matter if you get sweaty walking around in them, drop melted ice-cream down them or do too much shopping to fit them in your case coming home. Making them the perfect travel dress.
Shop the best travel dresses & dresses with built in shorts and hidden pockets
A lot of these skort romper dresses come in lots of different colors so if you like a style click on it to see what the options are. Abercrombie also has a big sale on right now, use code AFCHAMP for 20% off. My top picks for travel dresses are the skort dresses with pockets as they’re so practical especially for cities and as beach cover ups. Especially if you’re going to a windy destination.
40 best white skirts & the chicest styles I’ll be wearing in 2024
If you’re looking for something dressier and less sporty, this playsuit would be easy to dress up or down. It also comes with a detachable scarf that can be used as a neck or waist tie.
If it’s a skort you’re looking for not a skort dress, I’ve rounded up the best skorts in a separate blog post. All of them are super cute for sightseeing, exploring, taking pics, travel and vacation. I have 4 travel dresses with pockets on order so I’ll add photos as soon as they come in.

Travel Clothing
Stylish theft-proof travel clothing for women.
This post contains affiliate links. If you make a purchase using them, we will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. It helps to keep this site running – thank you!
One of the biggest fears people have about traveling is becoming a victim of theft . As travelers, we can be easy targets for pickpocketing because we’re often distracted by maps and sightseeing in new locations.
So what can you do to protect your stuff? You can be aware of your surroundings, not flash your money around in public, and look for directions before you leave your hostel.
Something you might not have considered before is investing in clothing designed to protect your belongings. Here are some options for stylish theft-proof clothing .
Theft-Proof Clothing Quick Picks
These are a few of the great products mentioned in this article. We’ve highlighted some especially fun ones in this table, but you can keep reading further on in the article for even more!
Theft-Proof Clothing: Speakeasy Travel Scarf
A scarf is an easy way to dress up an outfit or add a little warmth on a chilly night. You’re probably packing one anyway, so why not bring one that has a little theft protection built in?
We love a versatile travel scarf !
The Speakeasy Travel Scarf is both fashionable and functional . It has a hidden pocket where you can hide your passport, ID, cash, or other smaller items. With your essentials stashed away, you can go out without a purse and feel a little safer against pickpockets.
- Check out Brooke’s review of the Speakeasy Travel Scarf to find out just how convenient this scarf really is for storing all your valuables.
It comes in many patterns and colors, as well as different weights. If you think you’ll use it for heavier items, choose a heavier scarf. Otherwise, the pocket will get weighed down and be a bit more obvious.
Clever Travel Companion Clothing
Clever Travel Companion is a company that developed a line of stylish yet functional theft-proof travel clothing to help keep your valuables safe. The garments have hidden pockets that fit your passport, ID, and cash so you can feel more secure in crowds.
Bonus: They’re designed to NOT look like typical travel clothing, that way you won’t stand out as a target to would-be thieves.
Clever Travel Companion Underwear:
The underwear comes in a boyshorts style and has a pocket where you can stash your ID and money and leave the purse behind.
Clever Travel Companion V-neck Shirt:
This fitted shirt has two pockets that aim towards the back , so your belongings won’t poke you in the stomach. The pockets are slim enough that items aren’t immediately noticeable.
Clever Travel Companion Tank Top:
Similar to the V-neck, the tank top has two backward-pointing pockets that can hide your passport and other small items.
Clever Travel Companion Leggings:
Leggings are a girl’s best friend when traveling, so a pair that has hidden pockets sounds even better. These theft-proof leggings have two hidden pockets , one on the front and one on the hip.
- Check out our full review of the Clever Travel Companion theft-proof clothing line to see just how well they can store all your valuables.
Clothing Arts
I haven’t personally tried Clothing Arts , but they make a full line of women’s (and men’s) travel clothing with theft-proof pockets . And they certainly don’t look like travel clothes.
These skirts, shirts, dresses, and pants will have you looking stylish on the road while keeping your cash safe from thieves. Plus, most of their items are quick-drying !
Royal Robbins Women’s Discovery Pants
While not marketed as theft-proof clothing, this is certainly a travel-friendly pair of pants .
They are moisture-wicking, and water-resistant, and feature a travel utility pocket system updated to fit large smartphones . This includes a thigh zipper pocket (the perfect place for securing your valuables), front-hand pockets, and two back snap pockets (I wouldn’t recommend any valuables here.)
This brand is well-known for its clothing with multiple pockets (making it great theft-proof clothing), especially its vests. With SCOTTeVEST products, you can eliminate your travel purse entirely and store everything in different pockets to free up some luggage space.
SCOTTeVEST Chloe Hoodie
We love the look of the Chloe Hoodie . It’s casual yet fitted and has 10 interior and 4 exterior pockets . It also features a patented weight management system to distribute the weight of the jacket evenly across your shoulders no matter where you’ve stored your valuables.
Choose pockets wisely for your valuable items as not all of them are hidden away. And don’t go overboard – overloading the vest can make it bulky and make you stand out even more.
SCOTTeVEST Q.U.E.S.T. Vest
The SCOTTeVEST Q.U.E.S.T. Vest has 42 pockets ! Yes, you read that right. And while you probably don’t want to use them all at the same time, it’s nice to have options.
Similarly to the Chloe Hoodie, this vest features a weight management system and is made from a water-repellent, stain-repellent, machine-washable, and durable material.
SCOTTeVEST Daisy Dress
While the Chloe Hoodie and the Q.U.E.S.T. Vest are amazing, sometimes it is just too hot to be wearing them while exploring a new destination. In that case, try one of SCOTTeVEST’s dresses.
The Daisy Dress is stylish, functional, and comfortable and features 8 strategically placed pockets (some hidden, some zippered) for easy access to all your essentials and valuables. It’s made from a bamboo combination fabric for moisture, bacteria and odor control and breathability.

Prana is a brand that is committed to making sustainable clothes for yoga, travel, & outdoor adventure enthusiasts.
Their Halle Pants are both functional and stylish and while you won’t be able to store that many valuables in them, the zipper stash pocket on the upper right leg is great for storing some cash, your cards, or your room key.
They are made from a durable, stretch fabric with a water-repellent finish and UPF sun protection. They can also be rolled up and secured for warmer weather.
H&R Secret Pocket Underwear
The H&R Secret Pocket Underwear was designed for travel. This lightweight, breathable, boxer brief is odor-resistant, and moisture-wicking with a non-binding waistband.
The 2 secret zippered pockets can hold a passport, phone, or other valuables while traveling or on the go. While they might not be the best choice of theft-proof travel clothing for under a pair of skin-tight leggings, they’re a great option for under a dress or loose pants.
Theft-Proof Clothing Accessories
If you’re still looking for options beyond theft-proof clothing to keep your valuables safe, there are several great accessories and other items to try out.
- Bra stash : These are little pouches you wear in your bra. They’re usually not big enough for a passport, but they can hold your ID and some cash. The bra stash is a good option for a night out when you don’t need to carry much with you. Pacsafe makes a great travel bra pouch .
- Buddy pouch : This little pouch attaches to your waistband with strong magnets. It’ll still be visible unless you wear a longer shirt that covers it, but according to Caroline’s review , it should stay securely on your waistband. You can grab your own buddy pouch on Amazon .
- Money belts and neck pouches : You don’t have to get the tacky fanny packs that scream “rob me” anymore. Money belts come in slimmer forms, and there are versions that can be worn around your neck or arm ( or on your bra ). These can still be a great solution for securing your belongings while you travel. Check out our round-up of money belt options .
- Theft-proof handbags : There are lots of options for theft-proof purses and handbags, and they can go a long way in keeping your stuff safe. They come with zipper latches, locks, slash-proof material, identity theft protection, and many other safety features. Check out some of our favorites from Travelon and Pacsafe .
- Speakeasy Stash Scrunchie : The same brand that makes the travel scarf we recommended previously, brings you a stash scrunchie with a hidden zippered pocket. Perfect for your cash, key, lip balm, or any tiny items you don’t want to carry. Wear it around your wrist or in your hair depending on what is stashed inside. No one will suspect a thing.
It’s important to note that no accessory or item of clothing is ever 100% immune to theft or pickpocketing . You still have to be smart about where you store things and how you access them when you’re in a crowd. But hopefully, these options will keep you one step ahead of the thieves and less likely to become a victim.
Have you tried theft-proof clothing? What are your favorite options?

I have a little zippered change purse with a key ring. I use it when traveling, putting in one credit card and a days worth of cash. I carry this in my pants pocket or in my purse. That way I don’t have to one carry all my money and credit cards while sight seeing and even if I am carrying it , I don’t have to pull out my entire wallet. Can also be a wallet to give up if robbed. I also love Pacsafe bags!
Also keep your room/ house key in your pocket not your purse. If your purse is taken you can still get inside your rental.

Thank you! This is so helpful! I’m off adventuring in the Balkans in a few weeks and wondering how to carry the passports and cash in a safe way. You’ve provided me with a swag of ideas.

Like Clariza, I also use a very small zippered change purse with room for one credit card and some cash. I attach a stretchy coiled cable to it and clip that to my belt loop. This prevents me from accidentally setting the little purse down on a counter and walking off without it. If I am carrying a purse or backpack, I clip the cable to that. I use a lightweight money belt under my clothing for other cards, id, passport, etc. I leave it in my hotel safe when possible,

Good article. I have a Scotte tech vest. I got it for a trip to Japan a few years back. Worked great for hiding things, Carrying small purchases and easily carrying my iPad mini.. It served me well also on a 6 week road trip through USA southwest. I enjoyed it so much after Japan I continued to wear it when at home, eliminating a purse entirely. Like commenters above I have the coiled cable in the vest and have a one credit card Clipped to it and clip AnD key to it as well. I carry a Very small crossbody thrift store bag as a decoy and put a bit of daily spending cash into it. I am so looking forward to the day when I /we can get back on the road, Hope everyone stays healthy and saves up for a BIG trip!

The best travel dresses make it easy to throw together outfits while allowing you to pack fewer pieces. They can be dressed up or down for casual, fancy, and professional occasions. You can wear them on travel days and, depending on the material, potentially multiple times during your trip — even without access to a washing machine.
We scoured the internet and checked our own closets to compile options for every style, season, and activity. From sophisticated shirt dresses, sweater dresses, and wraps to breezy sundresses, maxis, and sporty athleisure numbers, you'll find the perfect frock here.
Best Overall
Quince mongolian cashmere sleeveless midi sweater dress.
This endlessly versatile dress can be worn year-round, in any weather, and you can style it with various layers, outerwear, and shoes.
The brand recommends hand washing it and laying it flat to dry.
You can count on Quince for well-made wardrobe staples at accessible price points. The brand carries lots of high-quality, relatively low-maintenance cashmere pieces, like this travel-friendly dress. It features a sleeveless, midi-length cut and a fisherman sweater knitting pattern.
Suitable for all four seasons, this dress can be layered under a cardigan, blazer, jean jacket, or shawl, worn over a snug-fitting turtleneck or thin T-shirt, or rocked as-is in warm weather. It also pairs well with various shoe styles, including boots, sandals, flats, block heels, and wedges.
Since cashmere (a type of wool sourced from goats) is naturally odor-resistant, you can wear this dress more than once between washes — and pack fewer items for your trip. The soft, breathable material won't wrinkle or crease in your suitcase, either. But bear in mind hand washing is recommended.
The Details: XS to XL | Mongolian cashmere
Best Budget
Amazon essentials above-the-knee dress.
With a laidback athleisure style, this sweatshirt dress is great for daytime wear or hanging out at your rental.
It doesn't have pockets.
If you're on a budget, look no further than Amazon. This affordable frock features a classic crew neckline, long sleeves, and an above-the-knee cut. The laidback style is essentially a sweatshirt dress, so consider wearing it with sneakers, slides, or another sporty sandal style. You can wear it en route to your destination, out and about during the day, or while padding around your vacation rental. We wish it had pockets, but for this price, we're not complaining.
The Details: XS to 2XL | Cotton, polyester
Best Size-inclusive
Skims long sleeve dress.
It comes in nine sizes, and the buttery fabric stretches to twice its size to ensure a fit every time.
Popular sizes and styles sell out frequently.
Skims is among today's most size-inclusive brands. Not only does this dress come in nine sizes (ranging from 2XS to 4X), but like other pieces from the Fits Everybody line, the unbelievably flexible, body-molding fabric stretches to double its size. Plus, it resists wrinkles and takes up minimal suitcase space. We also appreciate that the dress offers subtle shaping effects, cinching the waist and smoothing the arms and hips. Unfortunately, popular sizes and colors sell out frequently, but if you can snag this dress in your size, you won't regret it.
The Details: 2XS to 4X | Polyamide, elastane
Best Short-sleeve
Everlane short-sleeve dress.
The timeless, travel-ready Dream Dress can be dressed up or down and worn with several outerwear and footwear styles.
This style doesn't have pockets.
This timeless, elegant dress from Everlane is just the thing for your upcoming trip. It flaunts a mid-length A-line skirt, a semi-fitted bodice, and short sleeves that fall just above the elbows. You can dress it up or down, wear it day or night, and pair it with a wide range of outerwear and footwear styles — think loafers and a blazer, heeled boots and an overcoat, or flats and a denim jacket. This dress is also sustainably made with organic cotton and modal sourced from responsibly managed forests.
The Details: XS to XL | Organic cotton, modal, elastane
Best Long-sleeve
Nordstrom long sleeve shift sweatshirt dress.
This cozy, casual dress boasts a neoprene-like knit fabric that's warm but not overly heavy with wrinkle-resistant stretch.
It may not be as breathable as natural weaves.
We stand behind Nordstrom's own brand for high-quality pieces that aren't exorbitantly expensive. Case in point: this thoughtfully designed long-sleeve number. This dress features a relaxed shift silhouette, a jewel neckline, a midi-length cut with side slits, and handy pockets that are clutch for travel. The neoprene-like sweatshirt material is thick and cozy but not too heavy. And it has some stretch to it, which helps prevent wrinkles and enhances the overall comfort.
The Details: 2XS to 2XL | Polyester, rayon, spandex
Best Sleeveless
Unbound merino travel dress.
The aptly named Travel Dress is a layerable, three-season wardrobe basic that can be worn multiple times between washes.
The material may pill over time.
Unbound Merino's Travel Dress is crafted mostly from merino wool, with a touch of nylon and spandex for extra stretch and durability. As a naturally antimicrobial textile, wool repels bacteria that cause body odor, so you can wear it multiple times between washes. This makes it ideal for travel, as you can pack fewer outfits. Less frequent washing will also help prevent the material from pilling. Though the sleeveless style is a go-to for warm climates, you can also wear it in transitional weather with the right layers and accessories.
The Details: XS to XL | Merino wool, nylon, spandex
Maeve Sweater Dress
Anthropologie
The 1960s-esque Annalise Dress is flirty yet sophisticated and suitable for year-round wear.
Hand washing is recommended.
We love this flirty yet sophisticated dress from Maeve. Reminiscent of go-go dresses from the 1960s, the Annalise has a modish mock neck, nearly elbow-length sleeves, a simple shift silhouette, and patch pockets. Though it's a mini cut, the weighty, sweater-inspired material and structured shape make it suitable for year-round wear. Whether you style it with tights and an overcoat or go bare-legged with heeled sandals, you'll be dressed to impress. The fabric should resist wrinkling, but you might consider hand washing to prevent pilling or misshaping the garment.
The Details: 2XS to XL | Viscose, polyester, nylon
Free People Essential Slim Midi
Free People
This effortless T-shirt dress is super stretchy and exceptionally soft, not to mention versatile, layerable, and packable.
You'll want to wash it by hand with cold water.
Free People makes our favorite calf-length option. The Essential Slim Midi is lightweight and stretchy with a super-soft, airy feel. This semi-slim (but not too tight) T-shirt dress works as a swimsuit cover-up, resort wear, or a casual daytime outfit. The effortless design goes with sneakers, slides, wedges, platform sandals, or flats. It doesn't have pockets, but it's wrinkle-resistant and easy to pack. Just a heads up, the brand recommends hand washing this dress with cold water.
The Details: XS to XL | Polyester, viscose, elastane
Anthropologie Maxi Dress
The easy-breezy Raya Dress is just the thing for beach days, hanging by the pool, going to lunch, or attending a music festival.
Since it's 100 percent cotton, it may shrink or wrinkle in the wash.
We also like Anthropologie's Raya Dress. This easy-breezy maxi is perfect for a day at the beach, pool, or resort, but you can also wear it out to lunch, while shopping, to the farmer's market, or to a music festival. Available in four pretty colorways, the colorblock design is modern and eye-catching without sacrificing versatility. This dress is 100 percent cotton, so you can bet it's breathable and moisture-wicking. That said, it might wrinkle or shrink slightly in the wash — Anthropologie recommends hand washing.
The Details: XS to 3XL | Cotton
Best T-shirt Dress
Allsaints short sleeve maxi dress.
With a boxy silhouette and sporty details, the Anna Maxi has a casually cool vibe you'll reach for again and again while traveling.
It may shrink slightly the first time you wash it.
T-shirt dresses are excellent for travel, as they're easy to style and offer a casually cool streetwear appeal for daytime ensembles. We like this one from AllSaints. The Anna Maxi features a simple, slightly boxy silhouette, a sporty crew neckline, short cuffed sleeves, and side pockets, plus a longer cut, which makes it more seasonless. Since this dress is 100 percent cotton (of the organic variety), it might shrink a little the first time you wash it.
The Details: 00 to 12 | Organic cotton
Best Shirt Dress
Aday something borrowed dress.
The modern design has sleek, pared-down details and a professional appeal that's still laidback enough for casual outings.
It's machine washable, but line drying is recommended.
This shirt dress from Aday will make you look put-together while minimizing your time curating outfits. It's made of what the brand calls "technical silk," a sumptuously smooth, stretchy, and wrinkle-proof blend of nylon and elastane. Instead of a traditional point collar and buttons, it features a simple Mandarin collar and hidden snap fastenings down the front for a sleeker, pared-down appeal — extra points for the pockets. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, you won't regret packing this professional-looking yet easygoing piece.
The Details: XS to XL | Nylon, elastane
Best Sweater Dress
Faherty jackson sweater dress.
Featuring a mid-weight knit fabric and preppy details, this sweater dress is soft, cozy, and suitable for multiple seasons.
Hand washing and air drying are recommended.
Faherty's Jackson Dress can be worn in the fall, winter, or spring. Balancing a laidback vibe with preppy details, the modest, collared design is suitable for business-casual settings and leisurely activities alike. It's soft and cozy, too, thanks to the mid-weight sweater-inspired knit material. Since the cotton is blended with synthetic yarns, this dress should resist wrinkling. Still, hand washing is recommended to preserve the material.
The Details: XS to 2XL | Cotton, polyester, nylon, elastane
Best With Pockets
Foreign fare wrap me up dress.
Foreign Fare
Made with travel in mind, this non-wrinkling dress has two side pockets and a hidden zipper section big enough to fit a smartphone or passport.
It'll fall below the knees on shorter people.
The Wrap Me Up Dress was designed with travel in mind. It's made of a durable, wrinkle-resistant blend of Tencel and polyester, so you won't have to worry about creases when packing it in a suitcase. The material is also breathable, soft, and slightly drapey, which complements the subtly flowy, A-line silhouette. Best of all, it has pockets: two on the sides and one hidden zipper pocket on the front seam where you can stash your phone, ID, passport, room key, cash, or cards.
The Details: XS to 2XL | Tencel, polyester
Best Athleisure
Athleta coaster luxe sweatshirt dress.
Made of a thick, stretchy material with thumb-hole sleeves and zippered pockets, the Coaster Luxe Dress has a practical, athletic appeal.
If you prefer a slightly longer cut, consider getting the tall fit.
Athleisure was once brushed off as a passing trend of the early aughts, but the practical, non-restricting clothing style is here to stay — and it's a go-to among travelers. Athleta's Coaster Luxe Dress is made of an ultra-soft and supremely stretchy brushed sweatshirt material that'll keep you cozy while resisting wrinkles and wicking away moisture. The zippered pockets are a much-appreciated detail. You can wear this sporty frock to and from your destination, to brunch, on daily walks, while sightseeing, out shopping, or just hanging out at your hotel or vacation rental.
The Details: 2XS to 3XL | Lyocell, polyester, lycra
Most Versatile
Marine layer short sleeve midi dress.
Marine Layer
This seasonless little black dress can be layered, accessorized, and styled many ways, no matter the weather.
It only comes in one color and doesn't have pockets.
The little black dress – but make it seasonless. Marine Layer reimagined its best-selling Lexi Dress (a midi-length, sleeveless style) with a slightly thicker fabric, then added a mock neck and above-the-elbow sleeves. The result is an incredibly versatile piece you can wear in winter, spring, summer, or fall. It's a stellar evening dress for warm climates and can be layered and accessorized for transitional weather. In the cold months, wear it with tights, boots, a cardigan, and a warm overcoat.
The Details: XS to XL | Tencel lyocell, spandex
Best Day-to-night
Modern citizen yimei mock-neck side-slit dress.
Modern Citizen
This wrap-inspired dress can be worn all day, whether you have brunch, shopping, a work meeting, or a networking event on your itinerary.
You can machine wash it on a delicate cycle, but let it air dry.
During the day, the Yimei Dress can be worn with sandals or flats while shopping, out to lunch, or to a work meeting. Then throw on heels and a blazer to transition your look to evening attire for happy hour, a dinner reservation, or a networking event. It's professional and elegant but not so fancy that you'll look out of place at more casual outings. We like that it looks like a wrap dress but doesn't require any wrapping, tying, or retightening throughout the day. What's more, the soft, stretchy fabric won't wrinkle in your suitcase or on your body.
The Details: XS to 2XL | Hemp, cotton, spandex
Tips for Buying Travel Dresses
Consider versatility.
The best travel dresses are versatile. This means they can be worn in multiple seasons in different climates, layered with other pieces, easily accessorized, and styled many ways. Ideally, you'll be able to wear the dress more than once on your trip (or at least day and night), so you don't have to pack as many outfits. With this in mind, look for mid-weight fabrics, medium lengths, odor-resistant materials, and neutral hues.
Think about care instructions
You should also consider the care requirements of your travel dresses. A machine washable design is ideal, especially if you'll have access to a washing machine on your trip. But even if a dress calls for hand washing, you can clean it in your hotel room (or anywhere with a sink) and let it air dry.
Sweat-wicking and odor-resistant materials like wool, cashmere, and some performance fabrics don't need to be washed after every use. This is great for travel dresses, as you can wear them multiple times and pack fewer clothing items in your suitcase.
A wrinkle-resistant dress made of a stretchy, durable material can be folded or rolled up compactly in a suitcase. However, more delicate pieces should be carefully folded and placed on top of your other items. In some cases, a garment bag might be necessary to protect the fabric and prevent a dress from wrinkling en route.
The best materials for travel dresses are stretchy, wrinkle-resistant, breathable, and sweat-wicking. Many fabrics and textile blends have these qualities. Natural materials like wool, cotton, and viscose tend to be the most breathable, and they keep odor-causing bacteria at bay. But they're not always as durable or flexible as their synthetic counterparts.
Tencel lyocell and modal are exceptions, as they're naturally derived and inherently stretchy. Travel-friendly synthetic fibers include polyester, polyamide, elastane, nylon, lycra, and spandex.

Colorfulkoala Women's Cloud Tennis Dress
A well-known workout brand on Amazon, Colorfulkoala makes some of our experts' favorite budget-friendly athletic wear. Many GH testers even favor Colorfulkoala over pricier options . The exercise dress adopts a thick fabric seen in the brand's other offerings as well as a padded shelf bra and built-in romper liner. One caveat is that the straps aren't adjustable.

RTW with Carry-On Only: Why the Kosan Go Travel Dress Made the Cut
An honest review of the Kosan Go Travel Dress—a stylish travel dress with pockets, an adjustable hemline, wrinkle-resistant fabric, and other backpack-friendly features.
Transparency: I received my Kosan Go Travel Dress for free before the official launch date. I am not a Kosan affiliate and do not stand to gain financially from promoting Kosan. I’m just a big fan of their work!
P acking for a round-the-world trip that would take us from peak summer conditions in South America to the depths of an Eastern European winter was no easy task. To make things more challenging, this trip we decided (for the first time ever) to travel with carry-on luggage only.
When you’re packing for carry-on, every item counts . Most of my luggage consists of clothing, so I had to be incredibly thoughtful about what I included and what I left at home. Each item I chose had to be multi-purpose (think yoga pants that double as pajamas and triple as a base layer in cold weather), and versatile enough to wear across all four seasons.
As someone who normally sticks to jeans and leggings when I travel, I was a little reluctant to give away some of my precious luggage space to a dress. I wear dresses all the time when I’m at home; but let’s face it, I’m not the trendiest traveller and usually go for practicality over style. Of course I still wanted to pack comfy ‘house clothes’ and a few outfits suitable for long travel days . After hearing so much about the new Kosan Go Travel Dress , I decided it was about time I lift my game.
As soon as I tried this dress on for the first time, I knew I’d made the right decision to bring it along for the RTW ride. Not only was it the perfect dress for the Colombian wedding we attended at the start of our trip, it’s also been great to have as a layering piece for less formal occasions.
A travel dress with pockets!? Say what!?
If you recognise the Kosan name, it’s probably because of the Kosan Travel Pack System—a five-in-one travel backpack the company launched via a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2017.
What would a couple of backpack designers know about women’s fashion, you might ask? Turns out, a whole lot. Smart design and functionality aren’t usually qualities I look for in a dress. But for a travel dress you’re going to wear over and over and put through the ringer a few times (literally)? On top of looking schmick, this dress has to perform.
As with their backpacks and packing cubes, Kosan has incorporated lots of cool features into the Go Travel Dress—top of the list being pockets.
Before Kosan came along, a stylish travel dress with pockets was basically unheard of. Pockets require extra fabric and closures, and most travel dresses just don’t have room for that.
The Go Travel Dress has no fewer than four hidden pockets: Two discrete slit pockets in the bust, and two invisible pockets on the hip that zip up for security. Because the fabric is so lightweight (more on that later), I probably wouldn’t use the pockets for a heavy item such as my phone. But they’re perfect for carrying small items you typically want to keep close when travelling, such as spare cash or a room key.
One dress, multiple looks
Another big bonus for travellers is the adjustable skirt, which allows you to change the length and style of the dress in a snap. Worn long, the dress is a flattering calf length with a slightly asymmetrical hemline. Fasten the three snap closures and the dress instantly shortens to sit just on the knee. Because the snaps are located along the seam of the front crossover panel, fastening them also gives the dress a ‘ruched’ effect around the tummy and hips. I generally prefer dresses that cover my knees, so I usually wear it down.
The versatile hemline really comes in handy, though. In Colombia, I wore the dress down for the Catholic wedding ceremony we attended, then hitched it up for the reception party afterwards.
In the process of changing over, I discovered that you can do up the snaps in different combinations for different effects. I’m not sure if this was intentional, but I quite like mixing and matching. Fastening the front two snaps gives the dress a ruffle front but with the same longer hemline. The snaps are also really handy for storage: I’ve been buttoning the dress up when it’s hanging so that it doesn’t drag along the bottom of those notoriously short hotel wardrobes.
The fabric used for the Go Travel Dress is probably the feature I’m most impressed with. I’ve been through a few quick-dry travel garments in my time, and I suppose I was expecting a similar material. Matte, soft and very luxe, this material is a totally different story.
There’s no denying that this is a performance fabric: It has a four-way stretch, moisture-wicking and anti-odour qualities, and offers the wearer UV protection. It can be machine washed and tumble-dried (I never use a dryer at home, but it’s great if I’m sending clothes off to a laundry service while on the road). Best of all, there’s no need to iron the wrinkle-resistant fabric.
All that, and the dress still has a soft feel and beautiful drape. Packed down, it’s a little bulkier than I was expecting (a bit of extra material is needed for that flowy hemline), but it still compresses and is very lightweight.
Design, fit & sizing
My Kosan dress is a size M in the red floral print. In my opinion, the sizing errs on the generous side, simply because of the wrap-around cut and the generous amount of fabric used in the design. As you can see in the picture above, the shoulder seams are a smidgen too big for my frame. I probably could have gone down a size—but I generally prefer a looser fit, so I’m not at all bothered.
The fabric has subtle grey, peach and burnt orange flowers—feminine, but not too girly. The colours used make it easy to match the dress with other fabrics, including light denim, which I love. The dress is also available in block colours if you prefer.
The Go Travel Dress was developed with warm climates in mind, but I think it works just as well as a layering piece. In Colombia, I often wore it with a jacket; later in the trip, I might even pair it with a dark turtleneck and a pair of tights. Layering is also a good option if the country you’re travelling to calls for a more conservative style of dress.
The wrap-around design is extremely flattering and comfortable. The sleeves are a good length, and the wrap tie is generous in length so you can get a good side bow happening. I usually find v-necks too deep and revealing, but ample fabric in the crossover section makes this dress feel pretty modest, even by my standards. I love the cute keyhole cut-out detailing in the back, which not only looks great but also helps to make the dress more breathable. Kosan also has a sans keyhole option if you prefer.

I’m also a big fan of Kosan’s brand values. As someone who seeks out ethical fashion whenever possible, their commitment to transparency and high standard of manufacturing ethics is a big plus for me. The brand’s two co-founders are experienced travellers themselves and know the value of travelling light.
I hope this is the first of many trips I’ll be taking with the Kosan Go Travel Dress in tow. Look out for more photos of me wearing it later in the trip!

This dress is so gorgeous! I bought one after reading this post and I’m absolutely in love, it’s my new adventure buddy. Thank you for such an honest review!
I’m so happy to hear that Alice! Hope you enjoy your dress as much as I do mine… I’m still living out of a suitcase and still wearing it regularly!
The dress looks great and I love how you styled it! I’m currently agonizing over purchasing this dress. If you don’t mind, may I ask what your height is? I’m 4″11 and wondering how the length would fall on me.
Hello Ash! Sorry for the slow reply. I am 175cm or 5″7. Remember there are clasps to take the hemline right up (I didn’t have them fastened for these photos). The wrap-around style is quite a generous fit, so you could probably go a size down for the length and still have it fit well everywhere else.
I hope that helps! It’s a beautiful dress!
Hey, could you comment on the sizing? Does it come up small?
Hi Jen! Great question. I think the sizing is pretty spot-on. If anything, the M errs a bit on the generous side, simply because of the wrap-around design and the amount of fabric that’s in it. I would probably go with an S if you’re on the fence.
I’ve added a few lines to the post to clarify this for other readers.
I hope that answers your question!
Thanks Emily, this is super helpful! I was on the fence between S and M, so think I’ll give S a try.
Happy travels!
This dress is so gorgeous! I like it very much.

Travel clothing with hidden pockets is not a new concept. Thankfully pickpocket-proof clothing for travel is now more practical, secure, and stylish than ever before.
You no longer have to stand out as a tourist, sacrificing your own personal style and comfort whilst trying to stay safe when you travel. The travel clothing market is now more fashionable than ever.

Staying Safe While You Travel
We believe some of the easiest ways to stay safe when you travel is in the preparation before you travel , being aware while you travel, and not drawing attention to yourself as an easy target.
The way you dress is just one way you can minimize your chances of any unwanted attention from thieves and pickpockets, especially in destinations like Marrakech in Morocco or the Bazaars of Istanbul .
We have rounded up some stylish anti-theft travel jackets that will see you through from sightseeing to dinner. Pickpocket-proof pants with classic and sleek lines.
Even some pocket worthy briefs that will keep more than the family jewels safe.
We have covered them all in this handy guide, separated into travel clothes for women and men for easy navigation.
How to Avoid Pickpockets
The easiest way to avoid pickpockets is to be diligent, especially in crowded tourist areas such as Rome or travelling across a country such as Morocco by train . These are just some of the things to consider when travelling.
- Keep bags close to you and zipped up — preferably worn crossbody, not over the shoulder. A good anti-theft travel handbag or anti-theft backpack is always a great travel investment. There are also lots of very stylish anti theft fanny packs and waist bags on the market now which can be worn around the waist or crossbody.
- Don’t flash lots of money around or wear fancy expensive jewellery or clothing arts. You will only attract attention to yourself.
- Discreet clothing that doesn’t scream tourist is always best. This is why the best pickpocket-proof clothing has discreet pockets and is styled similar to normal fashion trends.
- Don’t place anything of value in a pocket that does not close securely and preferably never in a back pocket.
- Be aware of people creating strange distractions, especially children and don’t allow people to crowd you unnecessarily.
- If an interaction with a stranger doesn’t feel right, it usually isn’t. Keep your distance.
Take Care of Your Own Belongings
Too often we see tourists walking around with bags gaping open, wallets and phones hanging out of their back pockets or even handbags swinging from a street-side restaurant chair. A common sight with visitors to Rome and Paris.
When these travellers lose something, their first thought is they have been pickpocketed.
More than likely they have. After all, these travellers have made themselves an easy target. However, it is often a case of things left behind, phones falling out of an open backpack, or cash falling out of a gaping side pocket.
SAFE TRAVEL FACT
Each day around the world, more than 400,000 travellers are targeted by pickpockets. Even more simply forget or misplace their valuables while they are travelling.
Anti-theft travel gear and pickpocket-proof clothing are only as good as you are careful with your belongings . It will stop a thief from slipping a hand in your pocket, but it can’t help you if you don’t zip up first.
Buying Guide for Pickpocket Proof Clothing For Travel
What is pickpocket proof clothing.
Pickpocket-proof clothing is essentially a piece of clothing with functionality to prevent thieves from accessing and removing valuables from your person.
These features may include internal pockets, hidden pockets, or zippered pockets.
What features Should Good Pickpocket Proof Clothing Have?
- Good pickpocket-proof clothing doesn’t need to have lots of pockets, although many travel garments do. They just need to have at least one secure pocket.
- Pockets should be discreet, not like fashion cargo pants or shorts where the pockets are obvious and easy to access.
- Ideally, all secure pockets should have a zip closure, preferably a zip hidden in a seam or be virtually impossible for a thief to slip their hand in by way of a button closure tab or similar.
- Hidden pockets with secure closures.
Choosing the Right Pickpocket Proof Clothing for Travel
Many travel clothing companies will advertise garments with lots of pockets as an alternative to using your carry on baggage for travel essentials.
Do not confuse these albeit handy travel clothes for pickpocket proof clothing. Lots of pockets do not always equate to safe – just convenience.
Make sure the pickpocket proof clothing you choose is firstly comfortable and a design you like. The clothing will not keep your valuables safe if you don’t like wearing them.
When Choosing Anti Pickpocket Travel Wear Consider the Following:
Check the garment has the pocket configuration you need and like.
There is no point buying a pair of travel pants with 15 pockets when all you need is two secure pockets for cash and passports. Or a travel jacket has 20 pockets, but none of them fit what you want to carry.
Once you have decided on a design, then check the quality of the secure pockets and make sure they suit the purpose – do you need to access the items regularly from the pocket or keep them stowed away for long periods?
These factors will determine the type of pockets you want or need.
Construction & Material
When choosing clothes for travel – comfort, wearability, and durability are paramount.
- Check the fabric and the design allows comfortable movement.
- Is the fabric breathable or does it have moisture-wicking?
- Is the garment quick-drying, is it water and stain repellant?
- Is the weight of the garment suitable for the climate you will be travelling to?
- Are the secure pocket closures high quality and reliable, e.g. zips or button closures?
- Is the design suited for a flexible fit or is the cut right for you?
- Think about how much stuff you will want to carry in the pocket configuration and how that may affect the size you need.
Again, think about breathable fabrics, stretch, and movability. Do the design and fabric allow for comfortable movement?
Will the design be comfortable and suitable for the type of travel you are doing?
Is the style something you would usually wear? If not, maybe look for something more towards your style; otherwise, you may be inclined not to wear it.
Is the pickpocket proof features discreet in relation to the style and cut of the garment? The best pickpocket proof clothes are ones you don’t even realize are.

I own this money belt, and I highly recommend it! I wear it when I’m in Barcelona at night alone (Barcelona has reported 300 thefts per DAY.) It fits comfortably and snugly around your waist, and you can easily slip your hands into the easy-to-zip pocket. I can fit my passport, Samsung S7 edge, keys, and ID card. It’s non-bulky and moisture-wicking too. It comes in different colors, but I suggest black. Try it!

Why wear travel clothes with secret pockets?
If you carry a purse or have a bulging pocket in your pants, it’s obvious where you’re carrying your wallet. When you wear secret compartment clothing, it looks like you’re not carrying anything valuable. Pickpockets won’t know where to steal from you, and so they might brush past you. Wearing travel-safe clothes might save your stuff. So why not eliminate the risk?
Wearing pickpocket-proof clothing might help in other situations: 1) when you’re on an airplane , and you fall asleep with your valuables out in the open, or 2) when you’re at a bar or restaurant having fun. Pickpockets like to target tourists in holiday mode.
I’m sad to say that pickpocketing happens a LOT here in Barcelona. It’s one of the Worst Pickpocket Cities in the world! I bet that “wearing” your valuables in clothes with hidden pockets is a smart way to NOT be a target in the first place. Let me know if you have more suggestions for the best pickpocket-proof clothing for men and women!
<<Psst…need an anti-theft purse? They have locking zippers and cut-free straps. I own two and they give me peace of mind! Read my guides to the best anti-theft travel purses and anti-theft backpacks on the market.>>
Think you would wear any of these hidden pocket clothing pieces for travel? Do you find them as brilliant as I do?

Hi Justine,
Personally speaking, I’m a fan of money-belts and dividing your valuables up in order to minimise potential losses.
I tried using jeans with a hidden pocket on my first trip to South America but gave up on them after leaving them to be laundered with about 100 USD still tucked away inside! Needless to say, they came back nice and clean 😉
That means they worked. You couldn’t even find money from… yourself!!
What about kids, do you worry they will get targeted? I guess it’s just a phone they really carry, but my teen now has cash and cards.
Yes, it happened to a friend’s 16-year-old son. We all have to be careful!

Table Of Contents
Let’s face it—clothes with pockets are infinitely more comfortable than those without. Not so much because you need to carry things, but because putting your hands inside a pocket makes you feel comfortable—and comfort means confidence. Sometimes you just don’t know what to do with your hands!
But, are pockets designed into a dress beneficial for travel?
Why Women’s Dresses With Pockets Are Great for Travel
Though you’ll likely have a main purse or backpack for a personal item on a plane and double it as your sightseeing bag, sometimes it’s nice to have extra spaces for less important items such as lipstick , sunglasses , or lip balm, which is why pockets in dresses work well for traveling.
BISHUIGE T-Shirt Dress in Red , AllSaints Studded Belt , and Vionic Wedges

From cute and casual, to summer fun dresses, sophisticated frocks, all the way to cozy loungewear, these traveler favorites are considered the best. Check them out below!

I love anything by Quince, they have changed the way I shop and pack for travel. Thank you. Travel fashion, girl for making your website a one stop shop for anything I need but I’m packing and planning a trip.
What about the pretty green dress in the picture at the top of the article??
Hi Blake, I am afraid that since it is a stock image we are not sure what the brand is.
Sorry I could not have been of more help.
My favorite type of dress for travel is one with pockets. I love the summary at the end. A great way to compare the dresses. This group has been so helpful
Great review for easy travel dresses. Thank you! The comparison chart at the end is a very useful summary. I also like Lole, most are quite wrinkle proof and have the coveted pockets! https://www.lolelife.com/en-eu/search?q=dress
I purchased the Eddie Bauer Departure Easy Tank Dress in a coral color, and I love it. It barely wrinkles, dries very quickly, washes well, feels great, and looks so cute. The pockets zip up so you can keep your phone, keys or money from getting lost and because they zip, the pockets lay flat. The drawstring waist makes it a custom fit for anyone. I recently wore it to my grand daughter’s birthday party, and it was pouring down rain when we got there. It was dry in a matter of minutes, and you never would have suspected that I was caught in a downpour.
Thank you for recognizing the need for pockets in our dresses! Love these choices!
The Columbia Chill River dress is super comfortable and can be worn casually, at the beach, or dressed up for a night on the town.
I really love my Columbia little black dress. It could be for sight seeing during the day and dress it up for dinner even on a cruise!
Thanks for all your helpful lists and links
Just loved the Columbia Chill River dress that whitout your review I would not buy it and weared it to my last medeterien cruise and also to my one week say in Vegas
What a great website. The fun everyone is having really shines through.
Thank you for providing such a wide variety of options in terms of styles as price points!
Love these suggestions. I hit the jackpot a few years ago with a long black Patagonia dress with pockets. It can be dressed up or down.
When you’re having trouble finding the look you want or need, travelfashiongirl.com consistently has great suggestions. The tips TFG shares and the readers’ personal experiences are so helpful!
Even better would be pockets that zipper or Velcro please as I am always afraid of something falling out.
Hi! I’m in Bordeaux France right now and heading to Portugal 🇵🇹 it’s been HOT 🥵 all I can say is thank Goodness for cute cool dresses! I’ve grabbed a few From this list and love the ease to walk through vineyards and catacombs yet still look cute enough for dinner out. Cheers!
Thank you for your ideas! We just returned from Greece and I bought the packing cubes and a couple of dresses suggested here. It was a game changer!
So many great ideas and dresses I haven’t seen before!
Nothing better than having pockets when traveling!
I appreciate all the examples listed above. There is a style for any body type. I didn’t see Title Nine dresses listed. I have a few- sleeveless, short sleeve and reversible . They are definitely well made and durable.
I’m always on the lookout for a new travel dress even better if it has pockets!
I might be the only person who doesn’t care about pockets. I’ve been eyeing some new travel dresses so this is really helpful though
Love dresses with pockets – thank you for a great list!
Yes! Dresses with pockets, why don’t more people cover this topic? Crucial! The MITILLY Casual Swing Dress is adorable. I like a dress I can wear to work, out and while traveling, several good choices here.
Love a dress with pockets! Even my wedding dress had pockets haha
I have 4 Columbia Chill River Dresses that are essential to my travels. They don’t wrinkle, quick dry , and you can dress them up for biz.
Love this post! I am a one amd done dress girl. No mixing if and matching with tops and bottoms. These dresses are so cute and affordable!
Your dress recommendations have never failed. The Eddie Bauer one you listed here was my go-too during our Italy-Serbia trips this past summer. Keep doing what you do – the advice is sooooo helpful!
As an older woman (73), I like dresses with short sleeves and at knee or below knee length. The Karen Kane dress is cute, but only comes in black. I’d like to also recommend Karina Dresses….similar price point and material, packable, washable, and colorful. Boden also has similar dresses, many of which can be ordered in Tall length, which means they will be long enough for my 5 ‘6″ length.
Thank you for this great list but why doesn’t every dress have pockets???
Thanks for these suggestions. I love some pockets!
I love this blog post. I am a teacher in an older building without AC and I wear dresses everyday! I often find myself reaching for dresses when I travel too.
Thank you for featuring knee length/longer dresses for those of us who don’t have the legs to wear the little short ones. Great choices!!
I loved a dress with pockets! my favorite is the Karen Kane half zip shift dress. It fits by body type perfectly.
Dresses are the most comfortable option for me and pockets just improve them! Thanks for the great suggestions! Time to shop!
I wanted to also suggest Eshakti. They do custom sizing and almost all of their dresses come with pockets. I find that they are one of the few places I can get dresses that hit me properly at the knee.
Thank you for thinking of us, plus size girls!
These dresses are awesome. Thank you for always guiding me in the right direction! Happy traveling!
Also want to recommend Target for dresses – their “A New Day” line has some really cute/wearable/packable styles, including this season’s linen tank dress that looks great on its own or with a simple belt.
The BEST dresses hve pockets and are lightweight to maximize clothing packing choices. My Favorite dresses are from Columbia.
I love all these great dress recommendations! Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets!
Love all these great dress suggestions! Who doesn’t love pockets!
Where has this Eddie Bauer departure been, now I want one in every color.
I’m a big fan of Columbia’s dressesThey wash well and barely wrinkle. Glad to know the Chill River dresses have pockets. I traveled with a Betabrand dress that had pockets and it was easily my favorite dress the entire trip.

A Dress with Hidden Pockets: A Review of The Roma Wrap Dress from wayre
One of my favorite late-night rabbit holes to go down is the world of YouTube pickpocket videos .
(no wait – come back! Oh, alright, I’ll see you in a few hours…)
There’s something deeply fascinating to me about 1. how slick and swift the thieves are, and 2. how oblivious travelers and locals alike can be in public spaces.
I’ve shared a few tips in the past, like this roundup of pickpocket-proof travel items on the blog and my purse hack on TikTok (where a pickpocketing commenter praised me for my efforts, thank you very much ) – but haven’t reviewed any specific clothing with hidden pockets because the styling is often too utilitarian for my taste.
Until now, that is. I recently stumbled on wayre , a woman-founded clothing brand for the modern traveler. The brand’s clothing is created from reclaimed post-consumer plastic bottles and is designed to be lightweight, stylish, and ultra-packable. But best of all, nearly every garment features a sneaky pocket or two, whether it’s hiding in plain sight thanks to a tonal invisible zipper or tucked inside for only you to reach.
wayre’s product offerings are minimal but considered, with just a few items per category. I’ve been really drawn to traveling with versatile dresses as of late, and the Roma Reversible Wrap Dress caught my eye for its ability to be worn with the wrap in front and in the back. That, and the fact that it has three pockets!
The dress arrived in just four days, and I wholeheartedly appreciated wayre’s plastic-free packaging (as much as I try to reuse or recycle every piece of packaging that lands on my doorstep, it’s best if it is never created in the first place!). Now that I’ve had a chance to wear and wash this travel-friendly dress, I thought I’d break down my thoughts for you, category by category.
wayre’s Like-Silk Fabric
Right out of the mailer, the dress felt cool and light in my hands, almost slippery. The brand refers to the fabric as “ Like-Silk fabric ” – and while I don’t think I’d mistake it for the real thing in a blindfold test, it is definitely silk-adjacent, and yes, like silk. With 14% stretch (from 8% recycled Spandex and 6% Spandex), the fabric has a lot of give. The remaining 86% of the fabric is made from Recycled Plastic Bottles (rPET).
Roma Reversible Wrap Dress Fit
But how does it fit? I waffled between sizes for a long time before finding wayre’s helpful fit page. I’m impressed that they not only committed to sourcing models for each available size but also photographed each model in multiple garments.
After comparing my measurements to the size chart and model photos, as well as scrutinizing the reviews, I landed on a size Small – and it was the right choice.
Styling the Roma Reversible Wrap Dress
The low cut, midi-length, silk-like fabric, and twirly nature of this dress nudges it closer to the formal end of the casual-to-formal spectrum. I’ve fully embraced this by styling it with heeled sandals, but it looks just as good with sneakers. The Aluminum colorway reads either cool or warm depending on the light, which means you can pair it with just about any color you like (I like the grounding effect of a black strappy sandal, but go with whatever your heart desires!).
My Review of the Roma Reversible Wrap Dress
This dress is so close to perfect – and it would only take a few minor tweaks to get it to absolute perfection. Normally when I write a review, I spill all my thoughts out over the course of a few paragraphs – but for this dress, I think it’s easier to break things down by what I like and what needs improvement. Ever the optimist, I’ll start by sharing the features I like before moving on to what could be improved:
What I like about the Roma Reversible Wrap Dress
The Fit | The dress feels like it was made for my figure, with carefully placed pleats at the bust for a more tailored fit. The ties wrap around my natural waist, and the length is just right.
The Fabric | The color is a really unique neutral that happens to be light and opaque, and it fits in so well with the rest of my wardrobe. The fabric is soft and stretchy and miraculously doesn’t feel snug after a big meal. After washing, the dress dries quickly on the line (and it’s supposed to be somewhat stain resistant – though thankfully I haven’t had to test that out yet!).
The Pockets | The pockets at the hips zip and unzip with ease, and I find it equally comfortable to place my hands when the dress is worn with the wrap in the front and the back.
The Reversibility | I like that I can simply flip the dress around if I don’t want to show cleavage.
What could be improved
The Fit | In case it’s not glaringly obvious, I had to add some hardware at the bust to make this dress bra-friendly. I started with the hook & eye clasp shown here and switched to a clear snap soon after – but I still can’t quite get it to be invisible, and I think it cheapens the look a bit. Based on my experience and the other reviews lamenting the too-low cut, the dress could use a bit more fabric at the bust.
The Fabric | wayre advertises the fabric as wrinkle-proof, but even after washing, line-drying, and steaming the dress, I can’t quite seem to smooth out the wrinkles from the original packaging. But they have lessened quite dramatically, so I have hope!
The Pockets | The interior pocket is designed to hold a passport, but because of the drapey nature of the fabric, I’m not sure I would store more than a credit card or a little cash (bills only) for fear of it showing.
The Reversibility | I’m currently unable to realistically wear the dress with the wrap in the back. Why? If I move just too much, you can totally see my bum in my slip shorts (as happy as I am to share honest and thorough reviews, this isn’t an image I feel comfortable sharing on this page – but you can see what I mean in this SFW photo ). Adding an interior tie to secure it at the thigh is an easy and invisible fix, but with so many trips on the horizon, I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Final Thoughts on the Roma Reversible Wrap Dress
For me, wayre didn’t quite knock this dress out of the park – some tailoring needs to be addressed before it can be worn as effortlessly as intended – but the enormous potential leaves me wanting to try more of the brand’s travel-ready garments.
Looking ahead, I’m eyeing the Button Up Crop , Button Up Tank , and perhaps my favorite of their offerings, the Jetsetter Trouser . Who knows? Maybe you’ll see another review here some day.

19 Unique And Fabulous Experiences In Moscow
- Destinations
Thinking of visiting Russia? When visiting such a famous city, one must, of course, visit the iconic landmarks first. Moscow has plenty of those, most of them in the center of the city, which is very well-planned for tourists. Once you’ve seen the sights that are on most travelers’ lists, it’s time to branch out and visit some of the lesser-known sites, and there are some fascinating places to see and things to do.
I know this list is long, but I just couldn’t help myself. You probably won’t have the time to see them all. But that’s okay. Just scroll through the list and choose what sounds the most interesting to you. Where possible, make sure to book in advance, as things can get crowded, especially during high season.
1. The Red Square, Kremlin, And Surroundings
Red Square (Krasnya Ploshad) is the heart and soul of Russia, and where much of the country’s history has unfolded. This is the most famous landmark in Moscow and indeed the whole country, it’s an absolute must-do! The square is always full of people and has a rather festive atmosphere!
Saint Basil’s Cathedral
This is the famous church with the rainbow-colored, onion-domed roof. The cathedral was commissioned in the 1500s by Ivan the Terrible and according to legend, the Tsar thought it was so beautiful, that he ordered that the architect’s eyes be cut out afterward, so he could never build anything more beautiful! He wasn’t called Ivan the Terrible for no reason!
Lenin’s Mausoleum
The “love-it-or-hate-it” of tourist attractions in Russia. A glass sarcophagus containing the embalmed body of Russian revolutionary, Vladimir Lenin. It may seem a bit bizarre to display the mummy of a person, but it has been there for almost half a century and the 2.5 million visitors who come each year, clearly feel the queuing and thorough body search are worth it, to be in Lenin’s presence.
Pro Tip: no photos and no loud talking are allowed inside the Mausoleum.
Eternal Flame
There is an Eternal Flame in honor of an unknown soldier on the left side of Red Square. The hourly changing of the guards is worth seeing.
The Kremlin is the official residence of the Russian president. You can see it from the outside, or you can take an excursion to one of the museums located inside. This is the biggest active fortress in Europe, and holds a week’s worth of attractions! Once behind the 7,332-feet of walls, there are five squares, four cathedrals, 20 towers, various museums, and the world’s largest bell and cannon to see. Worth a special mention is the Armory Chamber that houses a collection of the famous Faberge Eggs.
Pro Tip: You can only go inside the Kremlin if you are part of a tourist group.
2. Bolshoi Theatre
Bolshoi Theatre translates to “The Big Theatre” in Russian, and the building is home to both the Bolshoi Ballet and Bolshoi Opera — among the oldest and most famous ballet and opera companies in the world.
Pro Tip: It’s hard to get an inexpensive ticket, so if you’re reading well in advance of going to Moscow then try buying tickets on the official website . Last-minute tickets cost around $250 per person. If this is out of your budget, about an hour before a performance, you can try buying a ticket at the entrance from a reseller. Most can speak enough English to negotiate the price.
Tour the Bolshoi Theatre: You can take a group guided tour of the Bolshoi Theatre which focuses on the history and architecture of the theatre and behind the scenes. There’s an English language tour that lasts 2 hours and costs around $300 for a group of up to six.
3. Luxury Shopping At GUM And TSUM
Russia’s main department store, GUM, has a stunning interior that is home to over 100 high-end boutiques, selling a variety of brands: from luxurious Dior to the more affordable Zara. Even if shopping is not on your Moscow to-do list GUM is still worth a visit; the glass-roofed arcade faces Red Square and offers a variety of classy eateries. TSUM, one of the biggest luxury malls in town, is right behind the Bolshoi and GUM. It’s an imposing building with lots of history, and worth a visit just for its design and its glass roof.
4. Christ The Savior Cathedral
This is one of Russia’s most visited cathedrals and is a newer addition to the gorgeous array of Muscovite cathedrals, but don’t let its young age fool you. After perestroika, in the early 90s, the revived Russian Orthodox Church was given permission to build a cathedral on this site. It did the location honors and built the largest temple of the Christian Orthodox Church. The façade is as grand as you’d expect, but it’s the inside that will mesmerize you, with its domes, gold, gorgeous paintings, and decor!
The cathedral is located just a few hundred feet away from the Kremlin and was the site of the infamous Pussy Riot protest against Putin back in 2012.
Pro Tip: Bring a shawl to cover your hair as is the local custom.
5. Gorky Park
Moscow’s premier green space, Gorky Park (Park Gor’kogo) is the city’s biggest and most famous park. There is entertainment on offer here for every taste, from outdoor dancing sessions to yoga classes, volleyball, ping-pong, rollerblading, and bike and boat rental in summer. In winter, half the park turns into a huge ice skating rink. Gorky Park is also home to an open-air movie theater and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. There is also Muzeon Art Park, a dynamic contemporary space with a unique collection of 700 sculptures. It is located right in front of Gorky Park.
6. Sparrow Hills Park
If you take a walk from Gorky Park, along the Moscow River embankment, you’ll end up in the city’s other legendary park, Sparrow Hills. Although the park doesn’t offer as many activities as its hip neighbor, it has a great panoramic view of the city
Pro Tip: You can take a free walking tour to all of the above attractions with an English-speaking guide.
7. River Cruising
One of the best ways to experience Moscow, and see all the famous landmarks, but from a different angle, is from the Moscow River. Take a river cruise. Avoid the tourist crowds. There are little nameless old boats that do the cruise, but if you are looking for a more luxurious experience take the Radisson Blu cruise and enjoy the sights with some good food and a glass of wine.
8. Metro Hopping
Inaugurated in the 1930s, the Moscow Metro system is one of the oldest and most beautiful in the world. Started in Stalinist times, each station is a work of art in its own right. I’d recommend touring the stations between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. This way, you’ll be able to properly see it without the crowds. Ideally, I’d recommend taking a tour with a knowledgeable guide with GuruWalk, who will tell you stories of forgotten stations and how the history of the country is interconnected with the metro development. If going by yourself, then I definitely recommend checking out: Mayakovskaya, Ploschad Revolutsii, Kievskaya, Kropotkinskaya, Kurskaya, and Novoslobodskaya stations.
Visit the free Moscow Metro Museum: For real train enthusiasts, located in the southern vestibule of Sportivnaya station is a small free museum. Here you can take a peek into the driver’s cabin, see a collection of metro tokens from different cities, and see different models of a turnstile, traffic lights, escalator, and more.
9. Moscow State University View
In his effort to create a grander Moscow, Stalin had seven skyscrapers built in different parts of town; they’re called the Seven Sisters. The largest of these buildings and the one with the best view is the main building of the Moscow State University. Although this is a little outside the city center, the view is more than worth it.
10. Izmailovsky Market
Mostly known for the city’s largest flea market, the district of Izmaylovo is home to a maze of shops where you can get just about anything, from artisan crafts to traditional fur hats, handcrafted jewelry, fascinating Soviet memorabilia, and antiquities. It’s also one of Moscow’s largest green spaces. There are often no price tags, so be prepared to haggle a bit. Head to one of the market cafes for a warming mulled wine before continuing your shopping spree.
The History of Vodka Museum is found here, and the museum’s restaurant is the perfect place to sample various brands of the national drink.
Once you’ve covered the more touristy spots, Moscow still has plenty to offer, and the places below will also be full of locals! So for some local vibes, I would strongly recommend the spots below!
11. Moscow City
With a completely different vibe, Moscow City (also referred to as Moscow International Business Center) is like a mini Dubai, with lots of impressive tall glass buildings. Here is where you’ll find the best rooftops in towns, like Ruski Restaurant, the highest restaurant both in Moscow City and in Europe. Moscow City is great for crowd-free shopping and the best panoramic views of the city.
12. Tretyakov Gallery
Tretyakov Gallery started as the private collection of the Tretyakov brothers, who were 19th-century philanthropists. They gave their private collection to the government after their deaths. If there is just one museum you visit in Moscow, I recommend this one!
13. Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve
Tsaritsyno was a residence of Catherine the Great more than two centuries ago. It became derelict during the Soviet era but has now been fully renovated. With its opulently decorated buildings, gardens, meadows, and forests, Tsaritsyno Park is the perfect place for a green respite in Moscow.
14. Kolomenskoye
A 10-minute metro ride from the city center is Kolomenskoe Museum-Reserve, where you can get an idea of what Russia looked like 200 years ago. You’ll find ancient churches (one dating back to the 16th century), the oldest garden in Moscow, and the wonderful fairytale wooden palace of Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich, father of Peter the Great.
15. Ostankino TV Tower
Built in 1967, Ostankino TV Tower was the tallest free-standing construction in the world at the time, it’s still the 8th tallest building in the world and the highest in Europe. It’s also the best observation deck, with a glass floor and 360-degree views. The speedy elevators take you 1,105 feet in next to no time.
Pro Tip: You need to book in advance; entrance is based on specific ticket times and the capacity is limited and only a certain number of tourists are allowed per day. Don’t forget your passport, you’ll need it to get through security.
16. Zaryadye Park
Zaryadye is a newly opened, landscaped urban park so new you won’t find it in a lot of tour guides. The park is near Red Square and is divided into four climatic zones: forest, steppe, tundra, and floodplains, depicting the variety of climatic zones in Russia.
These last three suggestions are a little quirky, but all are really worth checking out.
17. Museum Of Soviet Arcade Games
Release your inner child playing on 66 arcade machines from the Soviet era! What a great way to spend a couple of hours when tired of visiting museums and palaces. The staff speaks excellent English and are happy to explain how the games work.
18. Moscow Rooftop Tour
Take a 1-hour private Moscow rooftop tour with an experienced roofer. I can just about guarantee none of your friends will be able to say they’ve done it! For your comfort, I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Take your camera, there are some amazing photo opportunities out there!
19. Sanduny Banya
This classical Russian bathhouse opened its doors in 1808 and is famous for combining traditional Russian banya services with luxurious interiors and service. If you enjoy spas and saunas, then you should experience a Russian bathhouse at least once in your life! Go with an open mind and hire a specialist to steam you as it’s meant to be done — by being beaten repeatedly with a besom (a leafy branch)! This is said to improve circulation, but is best done by a professional!
So there you have my list of things to do in Moscow. I could have gone on and on and on, but I didn’t want to try your patience! There are so many things to do in this vibrant city that you’ll definitely need to allocate several days for exploring.
