The perks include free WiFi, exclusive lounges, priority boarding, upgraded mattresses, in-stateroom coffee makers, and more.

The Royal Loft Suite on Quantum of the Seas

The suites are impressive, with some spanning two levels, private hot tubs, multiple bedrooms, Royal Genie service, and the many fun offerings in the Royal Family suite.

Whether you’re looking to book a suite or curious about the Royal Caribbean suite perks, we’ll look at everything you get when you book a Royal Caribbean suite.

Let’s get started!

Royal Caribbean Suite Perks

Two Story Sky Loft Suite on Harmony of the Seas

When you book a suite on Royal Caribbean, you’ll receive several perks and benefits exclusive to suite guests. Additionally, when you stay in a suite, you’ll receive two Crown & Anchor Society points for each cruise night.

At first glance, Royal Caribbean’s suite program is a little confusing. That’s because they have two sets of perks that vary depending on your sailing ship.

The Ultimate Family Suite on Symphony of the Seas with a private balcony whirlpool

Some Royal Caribbean ship classes , such as Quantum class and Oasis-class ships, offer the Royal Suite Class benefits. If you sail on an older ship in Vison class, Voyager class, Radiance class, or Independence class, you’ll receive perks from the Royal Suite Program.

Both programs provide similar perks for suite guests, but some key differences exist.

We’ll begin by looking at the Royal Suite class perks before moving to the Royal Suite Program.

Royal Caribbean Suite Class

The exclusive Suite Lounge on Allure of the Seas

Royal Caribbeans Suite class divides suite guests into three tiers: Sea, Sky, and Star. Each level comes with different perks and benefits for passengers.

Royal Suite class is only available on Royal Caribbean ships built after 2009, including:

  • Allure of the Seas
  • Anthem of the Seas
  • Harmony of the Seas
  • Oasis of the Seas
  • Odyssey of the Seas
  • Ovation of the Seas
  • Quantum of the Seas
  • Spectrum of the Seas
  • Symphony of the Seas
  • Wonder of the Seas

Your suite category determines your suite class. The suite categories that fall under each tier are:

  • Junior suite.
  • Junior suite with large balcony.
  • AquaTheater Suite (one bedroom).
  • Crown Loft suite.
  • Golden Balcony.
  • Golden junior suite.
  • Grand suite (one or two bedrooms).
  • Grand suite with large balcony (one bedroom).
  • Owner’s suite.
  • Sky Loft suite.
  • Spacious AquaTheater suite (one bedroom).
  • AquaTheater suite with large balcony (two bedrooms).
  • Grand Loft suite.
  • Grand Panoramic suite (one bedroom).
  • Owner’s Loft suite.
  • Owner’s Panoramic suite.
  • Royal Loft suite.
  • Star Loft suite.
  • Spacious AquaTheater suite with large balcony (two bedrooms).
  • Ultimate Family suite.
  • Ultimate Panoramic suite.
  • Villa suite.

Sea Class benefits

Coastal Kitchen on Wonder of the Seas

The Sea class benefits are similar to the Junior Suite perks found on older ships, but with the removal of priority boarding.

One notable addition for sea-class passengers is a complimentary dinner at Coastal Kitchen, an exclusive restaurant for Suite level guests.

Passengers booked in a Sea Class Suite receive the following perks;

  • Complimentary Dinner at Coastal Kitchen restaurant (reservation required, and drinks are not included)
  • Royal Caribbean bathrobes for use onboard
  • Luxury pillow top mattresses
  • Luxury bathroom amenities
  • In Room Lavazza espresso coffee maker and tea kettle

Sky Class Benefits

Owners Suite on Harmony of the Seas

Sky Class suite guests receive all of the benefits of Sea class with some notable additions. Suite guests receive a complimentary VOOM internet package, and concierge service, among other special perks.

  • Concierge Service

  • Priority dining reservations
  • Early access to seating in select entertainment venues
  • Suite lounge access (with complimentary evening hors d’oeuvres and cocktails)

Star Class Benefits

Owners Loft Suite Bathroom with upgraded amenities on Anthem of the Seas

A Star Class is the highest Royal Caribbean suite class.

By booking a Star class suite, you’ll receive all of the perks of Sea and Sky class, plus some additional benefits. And perhaps the most luxurious benefit is access to a Royal Genie.

A Royal Genie is the cruise line’s version of a private butler. Their job is to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.

Royal Genies can assist with making dinner reservations, escorting your luggage on embarkation and disembarkation, planning special events, and delivering coffee.

Not to mention, Star class is the only suite class where you’ll receive a free drink package.

Passengers booked in a Star Class Suite receive the following perks:

  • Exclusive access to Royal Genie Service
  • Complimentary dining in specialty restaurants (including Chef’s table and à la carte dining)
  • Complimentary Deluxe Beverage Package (guests under the legal drinking age receive a complimentary Refreshment Package instead)
  • Still and sparkling water (replenished daily)

Royal Caribbean Suites Program Perks

Junior Suite on Rhapsody of the Seas

If you book a suite in a Royal Caribbean cruise ship built before 2009, you’ll receive perks from Royal Caribbean Suites Program.

Like the Suite Class found on newer ships, the Suites Program rewards suite guests with exclusive perks and benefits.

Royal Caribbean Suites Program is available on the following ships:

  • Independence of the Seas
  • Liberty of the Seas
  • Freedom of the Seas
  • Jewel of the Seas
  • Serenade of the Seas
  • Brilliance of the Seas
  • Mariner of the Seas

  • Vision of the Seas
  • Enchantment of the Seas
  • Rhapsody of the Seas
  • Grandeur of the Seas.

Junior Suites Perks

Junior Suite on Harmony of the Seas

The Junior suite is Royal Caribbean’s entry-level suite. It’s the smallest but cheapest suite you can book.

Despite the name, Junior suites resemble a larger-sized balcony stateroom. However, the extra space and full-sized bathtub might make it worth the upgrade.

Like Sea class, you won’t get many perks when you stay in a Junior Suite accommodation. But you do get more bonuses than staying in a traditional ocean view or balcony stateroom.

Junior Suite guests receive the following perks:

  • Royal Caribbean bathrobe (for onboard use)
  • Lavazza espresso coffee machine for use in your suite
  • Priority boarding on embarkation day

Grand, Panoramic, and Owner’s Suite Perks

Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate Panoramic Suite category on the amplified Oasis of the Seas

You’ll receive many more perks if you upgrade to one of the Grand, Panoramic, or Owner’s suites.

In addition to the Junior suite perks, you’ll receive concierge service and priority dinner reservations. But my favorite perk is the behind-the-scenes tours of the bridge, galley, and backstage.

Here’s the complete list of perks for Grand, Panoramic, and Owner’s suites guests:

  • Pillowtop mattresses
  • Priority departure
  • Concierge service
  • Exclusive access to the Suite Lounge/Concierge Club Access (hors d’oeuvres and cocktails served each evening)
  • Priority bookings at the spa
  • Priority shore excursion ticketing
  • An exclusive invitation to the Suite Party (on sailings of 5 or more nights)
  • A behind-the-scenes tour of the bridge, galley, and backstage
  • VIP Pool Deck Seating (Voyager Class and Above, First Come, First Seated)
  • Priority Tendering (where applicable)
  • Welcome Evian & Fruit Amenity
  • Main Dining Room menu is available for in-suite dining (during regular hours of operation)
  • Complimentary 24-hour room service
  • Private lunch seating on ships without Coastal Kitchen (location varies by ship and sailing)
  • Private breakfast seating is available on ships without Coastal Kitchen(location varies by ship and sailing)
  • Departure breakfast
  • Reserved Section in entertainment venues- Main, Studio B, AquaTheater, 270 (where applicable)
  • Complimentary pressing on the first formal night of a Royal Caribbean Cruise
  • No sign-up fee for luggage valet service (where applicable)

Royal and Villa Suite Perks

Royal and Villa suites are at the top of the Royal Suites Program.

In addition to all the previous perks, these guests will receive a complimentary welcome bottle of Moet & Champagne, and an officer will escort you onboard during check-in.

The added perks may not seem like much, but they provide a sense of luxury when you embark on your Royal Caribbean cruise.

The complete list of perks available for Royal and Villa Suite guests includes:

  • An officer will escort you onboard when you check-in
  • A welcome bottle of Moet & Chandon
  • Main Dining menu available for in-suite dining (during regular hours of operation)
  • Complimentary pressing on the first formal night

Final Thoughts: Is a Royal Caribbean Suite Worth It?

The Ultimate Family Suite on Wonder of the Seas with an in-suite slide to a cinema and karaoke area, as well as a private balcony and whirlpool.

It’s tough to say whether a Royal Caribbean suite is worth it. It really comes down to what you are willing to afford and if you prefer the luxury accommodations suites provide.

And there’s no right or wrong answer.

Royal Caribbean suites offer several perks for guests. If you’re only comparing the value of the included perks, booking a suite is not worth the price.

A suite on Wonder of the Seas can start at $4,000 to over $20,000 during peak sailing season.

At that price, the perks don’t justify the cost of booking a suite.

But, if you want spacious accommodations, exclusive lounges, Royal Genie service, luxury bed and bath amenities, and a private restaurant, a suite might be worth it for you – if you don’t mind paying top dollar.

It’s difficult to imagine anyone regretting a Royal suite-class cabin. But only you know if you can afford the high price tag.

How Much is a Suite on Royal Caribbean?

The cost of a suite varies by the cruise’s duration and the cruise ship’s size and age. Junior suites typically start at around $4,000, while a Royal Loft suite or Ultimate Family suite can go as high as $20,000 for a 7-night sailing.

Which Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships Have the Ultimate Family Suite?

Air hockey table in the Ultimate Family Suite on Symphony of the Seas

The Ultimate Family suite is available on Symphony of the Seas , Spectrum of the Seas , and Wonder of the Seas .

Do Suite Guests on Royal Caribbean Get Free Drinks?

Yes, passengers booked in a Star class suite receive a complimentary Deluxe Drink Package. Any guests under the legal drinking age will instead receive a complimentary Refreshment Beverage Package.

What is the Largest Suite on Royal Caribbean?

Royal Loft Suite onboard Anthem of the Seas

The largest suite on Royal Caribbean is the Royal Loft Suite on Oasis-class ships . The two-story loft cabins have 1,524 square feet of interior space and a massive 843 square-foot balcony. The Royal Loft suite can accommodate up to six guests.

Do Royal Caribbean Suites Have Balconies?

Most Royal Caribbean suites have balconies. The one exception is the Panoramic suites which feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows that provide a panoramic view of the horizon.

Onboard Experience Perks for Suite Guests

Harmony of the Seas - Junior Class Suite

Priority Bookings for Suite Passengers

Suite guests benefit from priority bookings for spa appointments and specialty dining reservations.

If you haven’t pre-booked these services, reach out to the Suite Concierge, who will contact you via email a few days prior to the sail date.

Private Sun Deck for Suites

Voyager, Freedom, Quantum, and Oasis Class ships offer exclusive Suite Sun Decks for suite guests, usually located one level above the main pool area.

These serene spaces provide comfortable reserved seating away from the bustling pool decks.

Aboard the Wonder of the Seas, suite guests can indulge in the exclusivity of a Suite Neighborhood, complete with its own expansive Sun Deck, a refreshing plunge pool, an intimate bar, and comfortable loungers for relaxation.

Private Sun Deck for Suites

Complimentary Internet Service

Suite guests in select categories, specifically those in the Sky and Star classes, enjoy the perk of Increased Connectivity with complimentary VOOM – Royal Caribbean’s high-speed internet service touted as the fastest at sea.

This benefit allows for seamless streaming, browsing, and staying connected with friends and family.

However, it’s important to note that this complimentary inclusion is not extended to guests in the Sea class suites, where internet packages may be available for purchase separately.

First Formal Night Complimentary Pressing

A small yet appreciated perk for suite guests is the complimentary pressing service on your cruise’s first formal night.

This can save you $7.50-$15 per item, adding extra value to your suite experience.

The Suite Lounge/Concierge Club

One of the main advantages of booking a suite is the exclusive access to the Suite Lounge, also referred to as the Concierge Club on certain ships, available to those staying in a Grand Suite and higher.

This private sanctuary offers complimentary snacks and hors d’oeuvres throughout the day and free alcoholic beverages in the evening.

Open 24/7, the Suite Lounge provides an opportunity to socialize with fellow suite passengers and enjoy stunning ocean views.

Exclusive Tours and Parties for Suite Guests

Complimentary backstage tours and events are offered to suite passengers, giving them a look behind the scenes at the ship’s bridge, galley, or theater.

Invitations to these tours are usually found in your suite, but you can inquire with the concierge if none are provided.

The Suite Concierge Service

Suite passengers have the luxury of a personal Suite Concierge who can assist with booking shore excursions, dining, and show reservations, as well as answer any questions and help resolve billing issues.

The Suite Concierge is also available to help check-in for flights, print documents and escort you off the ship at the end of your cruise.

Dedicated Seating for Entertainment

Suite passengers need not worry about securing seats at shows, as reserved seating areas are available in main venues like the theater, Studio B, AquaTheater, and Two70.

Earning Double Crown & Anchor Society Points

One of the best perks for suite guests on Royal Caribbean is earning double Crown & Anchor Society points, their loyalty program.

While regular rooms (interior, ocean view, balcony) grant you 1 point per night, staying in a suite rewards you with 2 points per night, moving you up in the loyalty program for even better benefits in the future.

Royal Caribbean Suites

Embarkation & Disembarkation Perks for Suite Guests

Speedy boarding & departure.

Suite guests are afforded the convenience of priority embarkation, enabling them to board the ship ahead of other passengers on the day of departure.

Plus, you’ll have access to a dedicated check-in line at the cruise terminal. When it’s time to disembark, you won’t need to wait for your luggage tag number; you can leave the ship at your convenience.

If you’re staying in a Royal Suite or Villa Suite, an officer will greet you at the terminal and escort you onboard.

A Special Welcome Gift

Upon entering your suite, you’ll discover a delightful welcome gift, which varies based on your suite tier.

For instance, guests in Grand Suites, Panoramic Suites, and Owner’s Suites receive complimentary Evian water and a fruit amenity.

For those in Royal Suites and Villa Suites, a bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne awaits.

No Sign-up Fee for Luggage Valet Service

On select itineraries, Royal Caribbean offers a luggage valet service, allowing you to skip airport check-in.

You’ll receive boarding passes, luggage tags, and baggage claim checks while on the ship, with your luggage sent straight from your suite to the airport and your flight.

Typically, there is a sign-up fee for this service, but as a suite guest, you enjoy a waived fee. Keep in mind that this service is currently only available in Seattle, Washington.

Suite Guest Perks at Port

Hot Tub in Royal Suite on Adventure of the Seas

Quicker Access to Shore

For some ports, passengers need to use smaller boats called tenders to reach the shore. Non-suite guests need to grab a tender ticket early in the morning to secure their place in line.

However, suite guests receive priority tendering, letting you skip the lines and effortlessly head to port.

Exclusive Beach at Labadee

When visiting Royal Caribbean’s private port of Labadee, suite guests gain exclusive access to Barefoot Beach. This private beach offers a tranquil oasis complete with crystal-clear waters and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs for sunbathing.

Furthermore, Barefoot Beach provides additional perks such as rentable cabanas (extra charges apply), and a complimentary lunch featuring more refined options compared to other buffets on the island.

In-suite Benefits

Additional space.

Booking a suite on a Royal Caribbean cruise offers you the advantage of having extra room to relax and unwind. Cruise ship cabins can be quite compact, so suites provide increased comfort, along with some bonus features.

Suites may come equipped with a variety of amenities, such as a large couch, dining area, ample closet space, and an extended balcony, though the specifics vary by suite type. Some suites even offer two or three bedrooms, allowing for increased privacy among guests.

Enhanced Bathrooms

One of the perks of staying in a suite is a more spacious bathroom. All suite bathrooms come equipped with a bathtub, premium toiletries, and in some cases, a separate shower, double sinks, and even a bidet!

For larger families staying in select suite categories, having two bathrooms in the suite can be a significant advantage.

Upgraded Mattresses

In addition to extra living space and an enhanced bathroom experience, you’ll also enjoy a more comfortable night’s rest.

In Grand Suites and higher categories, beds are equipped with luxury pillow-top mattresses—offering an upgraded sleeping experience compared to the standard mattresses found in interior, ocean view, and balcony cabins.

Dining Perks for Suite Travelers

bed in the Royal Suite on Adventure of the Seas

Personalized In-Room Dining

As a suite guest on Royal Caribbean, you can enjoy complimentary room service along with the option to dine in your suite using the Main Dining Room menu .

It’s a great opportunity for you to savor private meals in your luxurious suite whenever the Main Dining Room is open (or with room service available 24/7).

Exclusive Coastal Kitchen Access

Guests staying in suites on Quantum and Oasis Class ships have the privilege of dining at Coastal Kitchen, Royal Caribbean’s exclusive restaurant for suite passengers.

Offering a dining experience that’s more personal and secluded compared to the Main Dining Room or Windjammer, Coastal Kitchen is complimentary for those guests.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it features a rotating menu that focuses on Mediterranean-inspired cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Dining access at Coastal Kitchen varies by suite level: those in Grand Suites and higher have the flexibility to dine there throughout the week, any time of day, while Junior Suite guests are welcome to savor dinner in this exclusive venue.

Private Meals & Disembarkation Breakfast

On select ships without Coastal Kitchen, suite guests can enjoy a private breakfast and lunch seating.

These meals are hosted in an onboard specialty restaurant, but with menus more akin to the Main Dining Room or Coastal Kitchen rather than the specialty restaurant offerings. Enjoy your lavish voyage!

While Royal Caribbean suites come with an array of perks, there are certain offerings and services that are not included as part of the suite perks, which could vary by ship and suite category.

Common exclusions might are:

  • Retail Purchases : Any items purchased in onboard shops are not included as part of suite perks.

Does The Class Of The Ship Affect The Perks?

YES ! Understanding the suite perks on a Royal Caribbean cruise hinges on the class of the ship you’re sailing with.

The more contemporary Royal Suite Class is featured on their newer vessels, including the entire Icon , Oasis, Quantum, and Quantum Ultra classes, encompassing ships like Icon of the Seas and Odyssey of the Seas. These ships offer the latest and most exclusive suite perks.

On the flip side, the traditional Royal Caribbean Suites Program is in place on classic ships such as Independence of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas. These ships, constructed before 2009, provide a different set of benefits for suite guests.

In short, the suite experience you’ll have depends greatly on the ship’s class – with newer ships offering the Royal Suite Class perks and older ships featuring the longstanding Royal Caribbean Suites Program.

If your booking is on one of the newer ships, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the Royal Suite Class offerings, while if you’re cruising on an older ship, you’ll need to look into the Royal Caribbean Suites Program.

Do Suite Guests on Royal Caribbean Get Free Drinks?

Guests staying in most suites on Royal Caribbean ships do not receive free drinks as a standard amenity. However, a complimentary bottle of water or Champagne may be offered as a welcome gift, which varies by the class of the suite.

For those looking for an all-inclusive drink experience, the Royal Suite Class offers this perk exclusively at the Star tier level, and this is available only on the newer ships in the fleet.

Which Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships Have the Ultimate Family Suite?

The Ultimate Family Suite, a unique and feature-rich accommodation, can be found exclusively on three ships currently in the Royal Caribbean fleet: Symphony of the Seas, Spectrum of the Seas, and Wonder of the Seas.

This suite is designed to provide families with an array of exciting experiences and bonding opportunities within a single expansive space.

Erica Silverstein

Take your pick: Can you settle for a concierge to elevate your next cruise or do you need a genie to make your vacation magical? The choice is yours when you book a suite that's part of Royal Caribbean's Royal Suite class.

On Oasis- and Quantum-class ships, your suite booking comes with a host of perks that vary based on the Royal Suite-class tier your cabin falls under. The amenities range from in-cabin bathrobes and name-brand toiletries to an exclusive restaurant and personal assistant. Some suites include Wi-Fi, specialty dining, tips and a beverage package wrapped into the cruise fare.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

The effect is to create a little slice of luxury living on a mass-market ship sailing with thousands of passengers on board. VIP privileges help smooth the wrinkles of jockeying for reservations, seats and head-of-the-line positions, so you can enjoy every moment of your trip.

You might need that genie to help you figure out which suites come with which perks on which ships. Here, I'll take you through the ins and outs of Royal Caribbean 's Royal Suite class for the next time you want to make your cruise vacation extra special.

voyager class suite perks

What is Royal Caribbean's Royal Suite class?

The Royal Suite class divides Royal Caribbean's top suites into three categories: Sea, Sky and Star. Sea is the lowest tier, Sky is the middle tier and Star is the highest tier; the names go in order from lowest to the ground to way up in the heavens, to match their level of inclusions.

Which suites fall into each Royal Suite-class category?

Royal Suite class is only found on the newest and biggest ships. These include:

  • Allure of the Seas.
  • Anthem of the Seas.
  • Harmony of the Seas.
  • Oasis of the Seas.
  • Odyssey of the Seas.
  • Ovation of the Seas.
  • Quantum of the Seas.
  • Spectrum of the Seas.
  • Symphony of the Seas.
  • Wonder of the Seas.

Among those ships, here are the suite categories that fall under each tier.

  • Junior suite.
  • Junior suite with large balcony.
  • AquaTheater suite (one bedroom).
  • Crown Loft suite.
  • Golden Balcony.
  • Golden junior suite.
  • Grand suite (one or two bedrooms).
  • Grand suite with large balcony (one bedroom).
  • Owner's suite.
  • Sky Loft suite.
  • Spacious AquaTheater suite (one bedroom).
  • AquaTheater suite with large balcony (two bedrooms).
  • Grand Loft suite.
  • Grand Panoramic suite (one bedroom).
  • Owner's Loft suite.
  • Owner's Panoramic suite.
  • Royal Loft suite.
  • Star Loft suite.
  • Spacious AquaTheater suite with large balcony (two bedrooms).
  • Ultimate Family suite.
  • Ultimate Panoramic suite.
  • Villa suite.

What are the Royal Suite-class benefits?

All Royal Suite-class suites are tricked out with bathrobes for use on board, a Lavazza espresso coffee maker and upgraded toiletries. On my recent Wonder of the Seas cruise in a Grand suite, the toiletries were Malin + Goetz-brand shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion in large pump bottles (so you can't stick them in your luggage before you disembark).

You're also entitled to a dedicated check-in line on embarkation day. All suite guests can eat dinner at Coastal Kitchen, the exclusive suite restaurant, but you must make reservations in advance.

Related: Reasons you should splurge on a suite for your next cruise

Move up to Sky class, and the perks and inclusions get even better. You'll get VIP treatment, such as concierge service, flexible arrival times (an hour earlier or later than your check-in time) and priority disembarkation, priority dining reservations and reserved group seating in certain entertainment venues, such as the main theater and ice skating rink.

On my Wonder of the Seas cruise, the concierge personally escorted us off the ship, holding elevators, skipping us ahead of the general scrum to scan our SeaPass cards and exit, and pointing out exactly where our bags were located.

Sky-class passengers also get access to exclusive venues, such as the Coastal Kitchen restaurant for three meals a day, suite lounge with complimentary evening drinks and snacks, and the suite sun deck. Room service is free of charge 24/7.

On Wonder of the Seas, I truly appreciated the suite lounge and concierge service. It was my first time on an Oasis-class ship, and a lot of advance reservations were not available on the inaugural sailing of the ship. The concierges were brilliant at getting me a table the first day the new Mason Jar restaurant was open for brunch, and making reservations for all the shows we wanted to see.

My daughter and I loved to pop into the suite lounge to grab a pastry, snack or drink; it was more convenient than room service, when you never knew when or what was going to show up. I found Coastal Kitchen to be several steps above the main dining room in terms of food quality and service, and I regret not eating more meals there.

Every person booked into a Sky-class suite also gets a free "Surf + Stream" internet package for one device. That meant I could get work done while my daughter watched "Encanto" for the thousandth time on Disney+.

You also get one bottle of water on arrival, but that pales in comparison to the rest of the perks!

How is Star class different?

Star class is where the magic happens. In addition to all the aforementioned perks, passengers booked into the largest, most expensive suites receive complimentary specialty restaurant dining, a Deluxe beverage package (for all guests 21 and older) or Refreshment package (for anyone not legal to drink), minibar stocked with soda and water, laundry and pressing, and gratuities.

The suites will feature luxury-brand mattresses and pillows, topped with Frette linens, and have still and sparkling water replenished each day. You'll receive expedited boarding and departure, priority entrance to shipboard activities and the best seats reserved specifically for you at many onboard entertainment venues.

However, the best Star-class amenity is the Royal Genie, a personal butler who will go above and beyond to enhance your vacation at sea. I've sailed on luxury ships, where butlers basically offer to unpack your bags and bring you afternoon canapes, but otherwise seem like a glorified room steward. Not so with the Royal Genie.

All Royal Genies will help you plan your cruise in advance, snagging your preferred reservations at restaurants and activities, and adjusting these plans in real time as your cruise unfolds and things come up. They will personally escort your travel party on and off the ship.

Beyond that, what your Royal Genie can do for you depends a lot on what you ask for. Think about bringing any food from any restaurant to your suite for in-room or balcony dining. Maybe it's throwing a party for a special occasion or for friends your meet on board. The Genie can supervise your kids at the buffet while you have a date night meal or plan a special day in port. He or she might surprise you with popcorn when you decide to have an in-cabin movie night, bring you daily Starbucks or leave little gifts for you to find.

Even cruisers who are low maintenance, or feel awkward having a crew member follow them around all day long, report getting used to the unobtrusive-yet-ever-present service of a Genie, and say it really makes their sailing special.

voyager class suite perks

Is the Royal Suite class worth it?

Now that's a question without a right or wrong answer.

Are the perks valuable and useful? You bet. Are the suites spacious and upscale? Yep. Is it worth the price? Well, now, that depends ...

When I checked, fares for a Royal Loft suite on a weeklong Christmas 2023 sailing on Oasis of the Seas started at more than $20,000 ... per person (based on double occupancy). The same cabin a few weeks later costs nearly $11,000 per person. On a four-night Bahamas cruise on Allure of the Seas, the suite costs $4,000 per person. That's quite the price range.

Related: Why it pays to upgrade your cruise ship cabin

If you want the most affordable cruise, Royal Suite class is not worth the money. If you're willing to pay whatever it costs for a luxury experience and VIP treatment on a tricked-out megaship with all the restaurants and onboard attractions, it's definitely worth it. You might find you're willing to splurge for a once-in-a-lifetime trip, like a honeymoon, but not for an ordinary vacation. Perhaps you're willing to pay for a lower-tier suite with some but not all the perks, or are willing to patiently scour all the sailings to find a Star-class suite with a lower-than-average fare.

I can't imagine anyone regretting the vacation they had in a Royal Suite-class cabin. However, you might regret all the things you have to give up (new car, dinners out, shopping trips) to afford that suite. Only you can decide how you want to spend your discretionary budget.

Ultimate Guide to Royal Caribbean Suite Perks

suite waiting room at Royal Caribbean terminal in Miami

Are you wondering if the Royal Caribbean suites perks are worth the extra cost? When my family and I first sailed with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, we felt really confused by the different suite categories and the benefits included in each one. For example, some of the Royal Caribbean ships feature the “Royal Suite Class” while others do not.

Additionally, suite guests sailing in one category may receive different perks compared to guests in a different cabin level. We found ourselves wondering what perks come with a junior suite and which benefits are included with Sky Class vs Star Class. If you have asked yourself these same questions, rest assured that we’ve come up with a super simple guide for explaining the Royal Caribbean suite perks.

We’ll break down the options on the different ships and provide an easy-to-read chart that displays the suite benefits. So, continue reading our post below to find out everything you need to know about Royal Caribbean suites perks before your cruise vacation!

Royal Suite Class Perks

The Royal Caribbean ships offer two main types of suite categories for cruisers: Royal Suite Class and the Royal Caribbean Suites Program. While these names may seem similar, the two suite categories are actually quite different. We will start by discussing the Royal Suite Class category since it is the one that applies to most of the newer Royal Caribbean ships.

room with high ceilings and walls of windows with blue seating areas

The Royal Suite Class can be found on the following ships:

  • Oasis Class Ships: Oasis of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Utopia of the Seas, and Wonder of the Seas
  • Quantum Class Ships: Spectrum of the Seas, Odyssey of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, and Quantum of the Seas
  • Icon Class Ships: Icon of the Seas

If you are sailing on a Royal Caribbean ship that is not one of the Oasis-class ships, Quantum-class ships, or Icon-class ships, then your suite category is the Royal Caribbean Suites Program. Before we talk about this other program, let’s break down the components of the Royal Suite Class you will find on the ships listed above.

Sea Class Benefits

The basic level of the Royal Suite Class is known as the Sea Class. This suite class is reserved for guests booked in a junior suite. Although junior suites do not offer a ton of benefits nor do they provide concierge service, they do feature extra space for families during their cruise vacation. Junior suites are larger than the typical balcony stateroom.

bathroom with tub and toilet

They provide larger bathrooms (with a bathtub), walk-in closets, and a bigger private balcony. Additionally, some of the junior suite perks you’ll find included with your Sea Class benefits are:

  • Dinner access to Coastal Kitchen restaurant (exclusive restaurant for suite guests)
  • Upgraded bath products
  • Luxury mattress
  • Priority check-in on embarkation day
  • Bathrobes to use in your stateroom
  • Silver Dining (on Spectrum of the Seas)

If you’re interested in learning more about this Sea Class suite, you can check out our Review of Royal Caribbean Junior Suites . In that post, we provide a picture tour of a junior suite on the Oasis of the Seas along with our honest opinion on whether or not we found this Sea Class suite to be worth the extra cost.

Sky Class Benefits

The next step up from the Royal Caribbean Sea Class is the Sky Class. Sky Class suites may feature things like a master bedroom separate from the living area, a dining table, a larger balcony, and a larger bathroom.

cruise cabin living room with floor to ceiling windows

The Royal Caribbean ships feature Sky Class cabins in the form of the following suites: Sky Loft Suite, AquaTheater Suite (1 bedroom), Crown Loft Suite, Owner’s Suite, Grand Suite, 2 Bedroom Grand Suite, Golden Balcony, Golden Junior Suite, Sunset Suite, Sunset Corner Suite, Infinite Grand Suite, Ocean View Panoramic Suite (no balcony), Sky Junior Suite, and Surfside Family Suite.

Buffet of appetizers and desserts

The Sky Class cabins offer the additional perks you typically think of with suites. In addition to the perks mentioned above for Sea Class, guests cruising in the Sky Class also receive the following benefits:

  • Concierge service
  • Access to the suite sun deck
  • Access to the suite lounge with food and refreshments
  • Access to Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Gold and Silver Dining if you’re on Spectrum of the Seas)
  • Complimentary Internet access for each guest in the room
  • Priority debarking
  • Reserved seating in some venues

If you would like to learn more about our favorite Sky Class suite, check out our Crown Loft Suite Review . In that post, we provide a picture tour of a Crown Loft Suite on Oasis of the Seas. We also compare cruising in Sea Class vs Sky Class suites.

Star Class Benefits

The highest Royal Caribbean suites level is the Star Class. Star Class suites feature lots of square footage and luxurious accommodations. They also provide the most benefits. Some of the Star Class suites you’ll find on the Royal Caribbean ships include the Ultimate Panoramic Suite, Star Loft Suite, Grand Loft Suite, Grand Panoramic Suite, Owner’s Panoramic Suite, Owner’s Loft Suite, 2 Bedroom AquaTheater Suite, Royal Loft Suite, Ultimate Family Suite, Villa Suite, Ultimate Family Townhouse, and Icon Loft Suite.

Star Class suite guests receive all of the perks mentioned above for Sea Class and Sky Class. Some additional benefits included with Star Class are:

  • Royal Genie
  • Deluxe dining package
  • Deluxe beverage package
  • Complimentary gratuities
  • Complimentary minibar
  • Complimentary laundry and pressing

If you are considering booking a suite with Star Class benefits, I suggest adding up the value of the perks when comparing prices. For example, on our most recent cruise, the Sky Class perks (free internet, free specialty dining, free alcohol, included gratuities) totaled close to $2000. If you are going to be purchasing those additional items anyway, the cost of a Star Class suite may not be too much more than room in a lower category.

Royal Caribbean Suites Program Perks

As mentioned above, the Royal Suites Class perks are reserved for those guests sailing on an Oasis Class, Quantum Class, or Icon Class ship. All other Royal Caribbean ships utilize the Royal Caribbean Suites Program.

Royal Caribbean Suites Perks Infographic

The perks for the Royal Caribbean Suites Program depend on the type of room you book. Guests sailing in a junior suite receive the following benefits:

  • Priority boarding on embarkation day
  • Bathrobes to use in the stateroom
  • Upgraded bathroom amenities

Guests sailing in a Grand Suite, Ocean View Panoramic Suite, or Owner’s Suite receive the perks listed above plus the following benefits:

  • Upgraded mattress
  • Priority debarkation
  • Access to the suite lounge
  • Priority reservations
  • Backstage tours
  • Priority pool seating on select ships
  • Priority tendering
  • Main dining room menu for in-room dining
  • Complimentary room service
  • Departure breakfast
  • Private breakfast and lunch on ships without Coastal Kitchen
  • Reserved seats in theater
  • Complimentary pressing on formal night

Cruisers who book a Royal Suite or a Villa Suite also receive the benefits listed above. Additionally, these guests also receive an escort onto the ship on embarkation day and complimentary champagne.

cruise ship docked at beach

It’s also important to note that guests booked in a suite (not including junior suites) have access to Barefoot Beach on Labadee. This suite exclusive area on Royal Caribbean’s private island in Haiti also includes a separate lunch area for suites guests.

Final Thoughts on Royal Caribbean Suites Perks

As you can see, Royal Caribbean provides an extensive list of suites perks depending on which ship and stateroom you book. If you’re looking for a few basic perks like priority boarding and dinner access to Coastal Kitchen, the junior suites are often reasonably priced. My family and I find the extra benefit of concierge services, access to the suite lounge, and all-day access to Coastal Kitchen to be huge perks for Sky Class guests.

Plus, the Sky Class level rooms themselves offer some pretty great space and amenities. If you happen to find a great deal on one of the Sky Class suites, we highly recommend checking it out. We have yet to cruise in a Star Class suite, but it’s definitely on our bucket list!

Everything You Need to Know About Royal Caribbean Junior Suites & Its Perks!

On my recent Royal Caribbean Cruise voyage, I was immediately captivated by the plush offerings of the Junior Suites. On these cruise suits, you get a spacious living area, a well-appointed kitchen, and a private balcony.

Junior Suites offer lavish amenities, capturing guests seeking spacious accommodations. However, they differ slightly from the grandeur of Grand Suites.

So hang on and join me till the end of this journey to discover together if this option could be your ideal choice for a remarkable cruise getaway.

Table of Contents

What is a Junior Suite on a Royal Caribbean Cruise?

If you are cruising to get a little more space than the standard balcony room, the junior suite could be the perfect choice.

Junior suites offer a little more space, with an additional lounge area and a sofa bed, making them ideal for families or groups of friends.

The suite sleeps up to four people comfortably, with the option of turning two twin beds into a Royal King bed and a sofa that can convert into a double bed. They also have a larger balcony and more amenities than the basic balcony room.

How Big Are The Royal Caribbean’s Junior Suites?

The Royal Caribbean’s Junior suite sizes vary across ships, ranging from 112 square feet on Empress of the Seas to 299 square feet on Brilliance of the Seas. However, the majority of junior suites typically measure around 290 square feet.

In my perspective, the size was comparable to that of a hotel room, noting that cruise accommodations are generally less spacious than those in hotels.

Remember, the size of junior suites on Royal Caribbean cruise ships can vary based on the specific ship. So, I recommend checking out the ship’s deck plan.

Balcony Features in Royal Caribbean Junior Suites

The balcony in the junior suite is only slightly bigger than in a standard balcony cabin . I feel more space out here than my older standard balcony experience.

2-3 people can easily relax here and have their little paradise. It’s a great way to experience the views and enjoy the fresh air with your family and friends.

In the Junior suite balcony, you might get one full size lounge chair. But surprisingly, I found the same furniture on the standard cabin balcony.

Sofa And Seating Possibilities On Junior Suite

As compared to the standard balcony room, there are more sofa and seating possibilities in Junior Suites.

You get the Royal King bed, a large sofa perfect for comfortable sleep, and a nice little lounger chair where you can face towards the balcony, sit and relax. Plus, there’s also a little chair by the desk, the same as in the standard cabin.

The sofa and seating possibilities in the junior suite provide more opportunities for relaxation and enjoying the view. And I think it’s the main reason most of the cruisers go with the junior suite option.

So, for those who want to make the most of their stay, it’s the perfect choice due to the extra comfort.

Storage Spaces and Countertops in Junior Suites

For cruises lasting more than 4-5 days, storage becomes a primary concern for many travelers. Personally, I’m meticulous about my belongings, especially when it comes to what I’ll wear or use during the trip.

The Junior Suite offers a significant advantage over standard cabins, which typically provide only a single countertop and a few small shelves.

However, here’s the game-changer: The Junior Suite presents an entirely different level of storage space. The standout feature? A spacious walk-in closet that revolutionizes how I manage my belongings.

This closet is my absolute favorite—it keeps my items well-organized, making it incredibly convenient for me to select outfits for each day .

This ample storage option is one of the key reasons why I prefer the Junior Suite over a standard cabin. It’s a practical feature that significantly enhances my cruise experience and simplifies my daily routine while onboard.

Is There Any Difference In The Bed Size Of the Junior Suite?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a significant difference in bed size between the Junior Suite and a standard cruise cabin. Both feature king-size beds with rounded edges, which might result in a slight limitation for leg space.

Personally, I didn’t notice a big difference in size; both seemed the same to me. My legs ended up slightly hanging off the bed — maybe because I’m a bit taller!

However, I did notice a difference on the sides of the bed, which seemed a bit more spacious in the Junior Suite.

Charging Ports Situation In The Junior Suite

In the Junior Suite, it’s convenient to have charging stations on both sides of the bed. Additionally, there are hidden storage compartments in the lamps, which is a nice bonus.

For people like me who prefer having all their accessories fully charged, the Junior Suite can be an excellent option.

So, this charging port feature in the Juinor Suite not only ensures convenience for persons on both sides but also enhances the overall experience.

Bathroom Situation In The Junior Suite

After exploring the full walk-in closet, I noticed another standout feature in the Junior Suites: the bathroom doors, which are similar to those in the standard balcony cabins.

Within the bathroom, there are handy cubby areas on each side of the mirror. These compartments are perfect for organizing and distinguishing toiletries for each person.

Interestingly, there’s also a bathtub available, although I personally didn’t use it. However, it can be highly beneficial for individuals who shave their legs or for families with kids.

On a candid note, I found the water pressure in the Junior Suites to be a bit lower compared to the standard balcony cabin. It might have been an isolated issue for me or possibly a temporary situation during my stay.

Royal Caribbean Cabin Comparison: Standard vs. Junior vs. Grand Suites

What perks come with staying in a junior suite.

Unfortunately, Junior Suites do not include the full range of suite amenities.

You must book a Grand Suite or above for concierge services, priority dining reservations and spa bookings, access to the suite lounge, or a private breakfast in a specialty restaurant (or Coastal Kitchen).

However, the primary benefits that come with a Junior Suite are Royal Caribbean bathrobes for use only onboard, a Lavazza espresso machine in your stateroom, and luxury bathroom amenities.

Colored SeaPass Card

Cruisers staying in Junior Suites aboard Vision, Radiance, Voyager, and Freedom Class ships will receive a distinct SeaPass card, unlike the standard ones for regular cabins. This unique SeaPass will be silver in color and serve as identification for Junior Suite guests. Not only that, you’ll also enjoy priority access to various onboard activities.

On Oasis and Quantum Ships with Royal Suites onboard, SeaPasses is determined by which category of suite you are in: Sea, Sky, or Star.

The only suites in the Sea Class are junior suites, which come with blue-green SeaPass cards. Note that colors can vary based on ship and sailing!

Coastal Kitchen

On Oasis and Quantum class ships, there is a dedicated suites-only restaurant called Coastal Kitchen. Only people living in the Grand Suites and Royal Suite Class can access it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Fortunately, Junior Suite guests can only access it for dinner based on availability.

I recommend visiting Coastal Kitchen on embarkation day for any reservations you need. Being flexible with your dining times is a great time.

If you insist on dining at the same time every day, you might face problems if they offer only early or late seating.

Extra Crown & Anchor Loyalty Points

Another significant advantage of the Junior Suite over the standard balcony room is that cruisers earn two points per night, compared to just one point per night in the standard balcony room.

This is especially beneficial for those aiming to ascend the Crown & Anchor loyalty ladder swiftly, unlocking additional perks such as free laundry, welcome waters in your cabin, and daily drink vouchers.

Personally, it was an ideal chance for me to take advantage of the free laundry service as I tend to wear a variety of clothes during my cruise.

What Do Junior Suites Not Include?

As I already mentioned, Junior suites don’t include most of the perks included in the Grand Suites. Here are the perks that I don’t find in the Junior Suites:

  • Suite Lounge/Concierge Club Access
  •  Priority Dining, Spa, and Shor Excursion Bookings
  •  Bridge, Gallery, and Backstage Tours
  •  VIP Pool Deck Seating
  •  Concierge Service
  •  Priority Tendering
  •  Complimentary Pressing on First Formal Night

Also, most importantly, Junior Suites are not eligible for any Star or Sky Class perks as these suites are in the Sea Cclass on Oasis and Quantum ships.

The main perk is the additional space, a comfortable lounge chair in front of the sea view, and a full walk-in closet.

How Much Does it Cost To Stay In A Junior Suite?

The cost of a 7-night Greek Isles cruise on Odyssey of the Seas in August 2024 for a Junior Suite starts at $2,423 per person (double occupancy). Comparatively, an obstructed ocean-view balcony is advertised at $1,763 per person.

On a 7-night Southern Caribbean cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas in August 2024, a Junior Suite begins at $1,393 per person (double occupancy). Balconies start at $1,238 per person, making the price difference relatively small.

From my past cruise experiences, I’ve discovered that even these lowest-tier suites come with additional perks and advantages, making them absolutely worth the price.

What To Expect In A Junior Suite?

A junior suite offers a spacious living area, a slightly larger balcony space, additional sleep options, enhanced amenities, storage and closet space, and luxury toiletries.

What Perks Come With Staying In A Junior Suite?

With junior suites, you can enjoy the bathrobes, luxury toiletries, and the chance to enjoy dinner at the coastal Kitchen restaurant on ships that have one (Allure of the Seas).

Is A Junior Suite Worth It?

Absolutely, the Junior Suite offers added space, enhanced amenities, and a more comfortable experience, making it a worthwhile choice for a luxurious cruise stay.

Final Words

As my junior suite cruising journey comes to an end, it’s clear that these accommodations offer a blend of comfort, space, and added amenities.

In these suites, you get multiple charging stations, a full walk-in closet, spacious space, and a touch of luxury.

So, if you are looking for a delightful and relaxing voyage at sea, the Junior suite is a perfect option to enhance the overall cruise experience.

Moscow with its more than twelve million inhabitants has three international airports. The best known is Sheremetyevo (international abbreviation SVO), which is 35 km northwest of Red Square. The second largest airport, Domodedovo (international abbreviation DME), is about 45 km south-east of the center, from where the S7 airline, which mainly flies within Russia, and numerous international airlines such as Lufthansa take off and land. Finally, there is the third largest airport called Moscow-Wnukovo (abbreviation VKO), which serves numerous low-cost airlines such as Pobeda and is the closest to Moscow city center at just under 30 km.

Aeroexpress to the city center

First the good news – all three airports are easy to reach, both by taxi and by public transport such as train and bus. All three airports are connected to the Moscow city center by means of the so-called Aeroexpress. The Aeroexpress is certainly the most popular and the easiest way for foreigners to get to the center of Moscow. With the striking red signs Aeroexpress, you can find the way to the express trains both at Moscow’s three major airports and at the respective departure stations.

The modern, wifi-equipped trains from the private provider have little in common with the city railway trains from the Russian capital, which still originate from the Soviet era, and run to all three airports from early morning until after midnight. The schedule varies from airport to airport and time of day. As a rule of thumb, trains go to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo every half an hour during the day to and from the airport, while Wnukowo is only served hourly for much of the day.

The same pricing scheme applies to all three airports: at 300 rubles (around $ 4.50) for a one-way trip, the prices for the trip are significantly more expensive than regular public transport tickets in Moscow, but are still affordable. Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo are each around 35 minutes from the center, and Domodedovo Airport is 45 minutes away.

If you buy the ticket in advance or via the app, there is a 50 ruble discount, further discounts are available if you book a return trip with one ticket, which costs 600 rubles (around $ 8.50). When it comes to value for money, the Aeroexpress trains are certainly the best option as a solo traveler. Especially since bypassing the often treacherous Moscow traffic – in the rush hour a drive by car can take an hour longer than previously estimated.

The biggest disadvantage is that you can of course not go directly to the desired destination within Moscow. However, all three Aeroexpress trains take you to one of the major Moscow train stations, which in turn are connected to the ring line of the Moscow Metro, from where you can quickly reach all corners of the center of Moscow.

Transport connections

  • Sheremetyevo Airport -> Belorussky Vokzal (journey time 35 minutes)
  • Domodedovo -> Paveletsky Vokzal (journey time 45 minutes)
  • Wnukowo -> Kiewsky Vokzal (travel time 35 minutes)

Prices (apply to all three airports in the city and to the airport):

  • One-way ticket at the counter = 300 rubles
  • Online ticket = 300 rubles
  • Round trip = 600 rubles
  • Tickets for 10 trips = 2,300 rubles
  • Ticket Business Class = 800 rubles

In the city or to the airport by taxi app

Alternatively, the transport from and to the airport can also be regulated using the taxi app. Yandex-Taxi and Gett are the two most popular providers in Moscow. At Yandex the flat rate to all three international airports currently costs 1100 rubles ($ 16) and at Gett even only 950 rubles ($ 14) in the cheapest variant, with a small car of the size VW Polo or Ford Focus.

Unless you want to go to the airport with too much luggage or with more than two people, this is certainly the easiest method. Moderate surcharges are required for larger vehicle categories. Without knowledge of Russian, however, it would be much easier to get to the airport by taxi app than from the airport to the city. Due to the confusing location in front of the three major airports, it may be necessary to contact the driver by phone to find the right vehicle. Because the GPS signal of the respective app only gives the location with an accuracy of about ten to fifteen meters – with several lanes running side by side in front of the terminal and dozens of waiting passengers and arriving taxis, it is certainly not always easy to find yourself straight away.

If you are still dependent on the WiFi of the airport building and therefore must not move too far from the entrance, the whole thing could prove to be difficult. From the city to the airport, however, the taxi app without knowledge of Russian proves to be the much easier method. The hotel or AirBnB address can be entered as the pick-up location, and a taxi can usually be ordered within a few minutes.

With the classic taxi into the city

If you want to drive into the city by regular taxi, you have to expect considerable additional costs. The website of Domodedovo airport gives 2,000 rubles as a guide for a trip to the center, i.e. just $ 28. Trips to and from Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo should be a little cheaper. As with the taxi apps, the following also applies here: Especially at rush hour, you should probably prefer the train because Moscow’s streets burst at the seams in the after-hours traffic.

Bus metro combination

For experienced travelers to Russia or visitors with a particularly tight budget, there is still the option of all three airports to get to the nearest metro station by bus or Marshrutka (mini-bus with a fixed route but flexible stops).

From Vnukowo, for example, the 45M minibus line goes to the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station on the red line № 1 of the Moscow Metro, for just 150 rubles. Together with the 62 rubles ticket for the metro, you can get into the city for just over $ 3.

Sheremetyevo Airport can be reached from the Rechnoy Vokzal metro station on Marshrutka line 949 for 80 rubles, or from Planernaya metro station with Marshrutka 948 for 80 rubles ($ 1.1). The minibuses run approximately every 15 minutes. Domodedovo Airport is connected by express bus to the metro station of the same name every half hour. The fare here is 150 rubles (a good 2,1 $). However, complications must be expected with this transport route – the bus drivers in Moscow usually only speak Russian. Taking the metro or minibuses with luggage is not always comfortable. However, you can save money, especially as a solo traveler.
