Harry Styles just made countless dreams come true — wet ones included. At his Tuesday (July 18) concert in Lisbon, Portugal, the star invited tourmate Wet Leg to join him onstage for a surprise performance of their 2021 single “Wet Dream.”

Afterward, Wet Leg posted footage from the performance on Instagram, writing that it was a “wet dream come true.” Styles also shared a blurry photo with the pair on his account, marked “Love On Tour. Lisbon. July, 2023.”

It’s not the first time Styles has payed homage to either Wet Leg or “Wet Dream.” Last year, the Grammy winner covered the track for BBC Radio’s Live Lounge , after which Teasdale and Chambers shared their excitement by retweeting a clip of the performance and adding a smiling, melting emoji.

Styles is just one show away from completing his blockbuster Love on Tour, which has been running since September 2021. Wet Leg has served as opener for the trek throughout 2023, and will be at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia, Italy, Saturday (July 22) for the “As It Was” singer’s finale show.

Wet Leg to Open for Harry Styles During Rescheduled L.A. Tour Dates

Rising rock band Wet Leg is slated to open for Harry Styles during his rescheduled Los Angeles Love on Tour dates. Styles had previously postponed the shows due to getting the flu.

Wet Leg announced the news on Twitter , tagging Styles and sharing the dates. Comprised of bandmates Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, Wet Leg will play January 26-29 at the Kia Forum in L.A.

As previously announced, the band also will support Styles on his European and U.K. leg of the tour. Founded in 2019, the Isle of Wight duo of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers released their debut streaming hit single “ Chaise Longue ” in 2021, followed by their self-titled debut in April 2022.

A longtime supporter of the band, Styles covered Wet Leg’s “Wet Dream” in May at BBC Radio’s Live Lounge.

Both Styles and Wet Leg are nominated ag the upcoming 65th Grammy Awards, slated to air on February 5. Styles is up for six awards, including album, record and song of the year. Wet Leg is up for three awards, including best new artist.

Styles’ international Love On Tour started in 2021 and runs through 2023. In August and September 2022, Styles performed 15 sold-out shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, earning him a  special banner  that hangs from the rafters of the Garden. With a matching donation from Live Nation, the MSG shows also raised $1 million for the  Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund , which is the “education, research, and litigation arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country,” according to the official website.

Styles’ Love On Tour will resume on January 26, with three shows at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, just outside of Los Angeles. The trek will conclude on July 22 in the city of Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Wet Leg have shared their performance with Harry Styles on stage.

The former One Direction star was playing a headline show at Passeio Marítimo de Algés in Oeiras, Portugal on Tuesday (18th July) when he invited the Isle of Wight duo - comprised of Rhian Teesdale and Hester Chambers - on stage to perform their Wet Dream track.

In the clip itself, Styles tells the crowd: "It's been the most wonderful, wonderful tour getting to watch them play every night. They're one of my favourite bands.

"Can you please welcome to the stage Hester and Rhian from Wet Leg!"

The band have not only supported Harry Styles on their extensive tour dates, but the As It Was singer has also famously covered their track, which was the second single to be taken from their debut eponymous LP.

Harry Styles isn't the only one to be bitten by the Wet Leg bug.

Not only was the duo's debut album nominated for a prestigious Mercury Award last year, but in 2023 they took home two BRIT Awards for Best New Artist and Best Nee Group and won two GRAMMY Awards for Best Alternative Music Alvum and Best Alternative Music Performance for Chaise Longue.

They also won Best Indie at The Global Awards 2023.

Harry Styles covers Wet Leg’s ‘Wet Dream’

The singer put his own spin on the song at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

‘As It Was’ has done seven straight weeks at number one, Harry’s House has debuted to critical acclaim, and Harry Styles is gearing up for a huge international tour. But the singer-songwriter still found time to throw some love in the direction of Wet Leg , who will be one of his opening acts next year.

Styles covered the indie duo’s track ‘Wet Dream’ from their self-titled debut album. Backed by drums and electric guitars, the ‘Boyfriends’ singer cruised through the suggestive song, and also played a few tracks from his new third studio album.

Wet Leg found initial success through Tik Tok, and have rapidly gathered a following for their irreverent, tongue-in-cheek take on indie pop. They will be supporting Styles on the Australian leg of his tour, which commences in February 2023. Styles will kick off his tour in the UK next month, playing Glasgow’s Ibrox Stadium on June 11.

Meet Wet Leg: The Indie Rockers Supporting Harry Styles on Tour This Summer 

It’s time to get excited for Harry Styles once again as our beloved pop star is getting ready to continue  Love on Tour  on May 13 in Denmark! As much as we are so excited to get more content of Harry moving and grooving, this is  not   about him. We know, it’s a total shock to not be so Harry-centric. This is about his fabulous and talented opener for the  Love On Tour Europe an leg: Wet Leg. This is not the first time that we’ve been introduced to Wet Leg as they opened for Harry during the rescheduled  Love On Tour Kia Forum Shows  and his  Australian leg of HSLOT too.  

All of Harry’s openers have been great for us fans to discover! However, Wet Leg is a bit different as they are going to be opening for him longer than the others. It’s time that we get a proper introduction to who Wet Leg is and why they are so important to stan and support without being tied to Harry Styles. Here is your guide to everything Wet Leg so you can be prepared  for the return of  Love On Tour  and for what comes next for their music career. 

Who Are Wet Leg?  

If you’ve been asking yourself this question, don’t worry, we have the answer for you. The oh-so-very-talented Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers are the duo that makes up   Wet Leg . Wet Leg is an  alternative rock group  that has seen tremendous success since its formation in 2019. The powerful duo didn’t know each other until they magically while studying at an Isle Of Wight College and hit it off!  

Before becoming  Wet Leg   both members had individual music careers of their own. Rhian created music under the name Rhain from 2016 to 2018, a nice little twist on her name. Hester was the lead in Hester and Red Squirrel, which is such a fun and quirky band name. Our leading ladies confided in each other after they kept facing financial struggles and eating difficulties as they prioritised music so much. Their individual music careers were not going to plan and it was draining them. They were on the edge of making the most difficult decision ever: giving up their music dreams.  

After they realized both were struggling with stress and anxiety in their individual aspirations, they joined together and never looked back.  

When you listen to Wet Leg you will hear Rhian singing the lead vocals and playing the rhythm guitar. Meanwhile, Hester is on lead guitar and backup vocals. They have undeniable talent which explains their rapid succession into becoming a name worth knowing as they are opening for one of the biggest names in pop now: Harry Styles. They have described their entire music career as weird and rightfully so.  

After Wet Leg was formed without having any music released they were signed with an extremely well-known manager in London. Within 6 months they were signed with Domino Records and struck a label deal. At the time Wet Leg only had four songs available on a private SoundCloud account.  

Wet Leg being signed with Domino Records was a big deal. Domino Records, in case you don’t know houses other well-known alternative rock/indie talents such as the Artic Monkeys!! Wet Leg being signed without music at the start of their career is not a typical thing. Domino Records had a lot of trust and belief that they would take off. And they weren’t wrong.  

Wet Leg debuted in June 2021 with Chaise Lounge , and English fans loved it which propelled it to grow even more quickly. Their debut album  Wet Leg   was released last year. Their quick rise to recognition is extremely deserving.  “That’s why it’s so weird because the moment we stopped trying to make anyone else happy and did a band for the joy of playing and hanging out,” said Rhian Teasdale for NY Times

Why Are They Called Wet Leg?   

 You know when you have a silly little emoji conversation with your best friend? That’s exactly how it went down for Wet Leg. They are just like any of us when we put random emojis to convey an emotion, a feeling, or a new phrase that ends up being an inside joke with friends. Forming the name Wet Leg came after Rhian and Hester were playing a game where they would make band names out of different random emoji combinations. They came across the  water emoji and a leg  and we know what happened next.  

“I think we liked it because it was just such a dumb name for a band. It’s a good reminder not to take ourselves too seriously. When we had our first meeting with our manager, he wasn’t so keen on the name and asked if we’d considered changing it to something else. We stuck by our guns though. I think it’s important to have trust in your own bad taste, otherwise, stuff just gets a bit boring.”

Their Music Is A Haven For Alternative Rock/Indie Girlies  

Their songs are refreshing to hear within the Alternative Rock and Indie genres. The songs are of course for anyone to listen to and enjoy. They are sassy and quirky songs that are for all audiences. They are a bit bratty at times too.  

However, they do strike a chord more with a female-identifying listener as their songs provide perspective and insight into women’s viewpoints on lust, relationships, love, sexism, independence, and more. This has been done before by other artists but, their approach is raw and direct with unique descriptions of life and intricate euphemisms that will leave you feeling empowered, laughing, and smiling as you dance along in your room. Trust us, you will want to play these songs very loud and dance in your room. Or play them loudly move the furniture around and have your own Wet Leg dance party in the living room. Either way, you’re going to be loud and unapologetic with the edgy Wet Leg playing sharply from your speakers.  

Don’t just take our words on it, go listen to a few of their songs now. We recommend that you check out Your Mum, Wet Dream, Too Late Now, and Angelica along with the now-infamous, Chaise Lounge. You really should listen to their album  Wet Leg  after you get done listening to those songs as you will be longing to have more Wet Leg in your life.

The awesome and laid-back duo are going to be a riot as they continue their time with Harry Styles. From   NPR tiny desk concert , to live  shows in 2022 , to   being covered by Harry Styles , and touring with Harry himself, they are making themselves known to all. If you have the chance to go see them on Love On Tour with Harry, you must  get tickets to see them! They will be setting the tone for an amazing show with high energy that Harry will take and continue into his set.

Harry Styles announces new 2023 UK and European ‘Love On Tour’ dates

Wet Leg will support the singer at a host of new gigs, including two further Wembley Stadium shows

Harry Styles has extended his ‘Love On Tour’ into 2023, adding new UK and European gigs with Wet Leg. See the full list of gigs below, and find tickets here .

The singer is currently on tour behind third solo album ‘Harry’s House’ , and playing multi-night residencies across North America. Tonight (February 26), he plays the fourth of 15 nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Two new gigs (October 3 at Austin’s Moody Center and October 15 at Chicago’s United Center) have now been added to that run of dates, with new shows in Lima, Peru (November 29) and São Paulo, Brazil (December 13) also added to a subsequent South American tour.

In early 2023, he will then head to Australia and New Zealand , before beginning the newly announced UK and European tour in Horsens, Denmark on May 13.

Five new UK gigs have been announced for the tour, including two new dates at London’s Wembley Stadium (June 13-14), a venue Styles already played twice this summer.

Support for the UK and European gigs will come from Wet Leg, with Inhaler also joining at a huge Irish show.

Harry Styles is making his way to Edinburgh with the singer set to take to the stage at Murrayfield Stadium for two special nights.

Across May 26 (Friday) and May 27 (Saturday) the singer will continue his Love on Tour gig performing some of his greatest hits - and perhaps an unreleased song if fans are lucky.

Supporting him this time round is Wet Leg with the band having become popular taking home several awards.

Harry Styles will be joined by the Grammy-winning Wet Leg for his shows at Wembley Stadium.

The rock duo, who originally hail from the Isle of Wight, will be playing with pop star all summmer long. The former One Direction released extra tickets for the sold out arena concerts earlier this year.

Harry Styles will be joined by Wet Leg for his four shows at London’s Wembley Stadium this week. Here is all you need to know:

Who is the opening act for Harry Styles?

Wet Leg will be the supporting act for the Love On Tour stadium shows in the UK in May and June. The rock duo will also open for the pop star during his shows in Europe.

Who are Wet Leg?

The band is made up of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers who started Wet Leg while living on the Isle of Wight in 2019. The duo's first single Chaise Longue was released in 2021 and their self-titled debut album followed in 2022.

Wet Leg won two Grammys at the 2023 ceremony including Best Alternative Music Album for their debut release and Best Alternative Music Performance for Chaise Longue.

What songs will they perform?

The band played a set of seven songs on both of the UK shows so far at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 22 May and 23 May. The tracks performed by Wet Leg were as follows:

Just days after his “One Night Only” performance in New York, Harry Styles took a trip to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to cover fast-rising British indie combo Wet Leg ‘s second single, “Wet Dream.” Considering that some of his recent covers have been by Britney Spears and Judy Garland (at his “Harryween” concerts in New York last fall, anyway), the song might have seemed a surprising cover, but the group, based around the duo of singer-songwriters Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, will open for Styles on his tour of Australia and New Zealand early next year.

During his visit to the BBC Lounge, Styles gave his own rendition of the song which Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale had previously described as “a breakup song; it came about when one of my ex’s went through a stage of texting me after we’d broken up telling me that ‘he had a dream about me’.”

Dressed in his usual colorful garbs and ’70s bell bottoms, Styles rattles out the song’s flirty lyrics about “touching yourself” and “licking the windscreen” — making for a performance that really “is enough to make a girl blush.” Watch the full video below.

Since its release on Friday, Styles’ third solo album “Harry’s House” and its standout single, “As It Was,” have already topped the charts in multiple countries. “As It Was” had one of the best streaming weeks of 2022 — it was the first song released in 2022 to debut in the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100, as well as on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart.

The former One Direction singer also achieved the fastest-selling album of 2022 so far.

Harry Styles Embraces Wet Leg’s Post-Punk Cheek With ‘Wet Dream’ Cover

Harry Styles covered one of Wet Leg ’s deliriously cheeky post-punk tunes, “Wet Dream,” during an appearance on BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge.  

“Wet Dream” proved to be — unsurprisingly — a perfect fit for Styles, from its uptempo pop-rock energy to the unabashedly raunchy lyrics, which the pop star delivered in his always effortlessly cool and captivating croon: “I was in your wet dream/Driving in my car/What makes you think you’re good enough/To think about me when you’re touching yourself?”  

Since hitting the internet this morning, May 24, Styles’ cover of “Wet Dream” has also earned an extremely appropriate melting face emoji from Wet Leg.

Along with his cover of “Wet Dream,” Styles performed a trio of tunes from his new album, Harry’s House : Lead single “As It Was,” “Boyfriends,” and “Late Night Talking.” Harry’s House was released last Friday, May 20, and marks Style’s third solo album and first since 2019’s Fine Line .  

Styles has a slew of U.K. and European tour dates scheduled through the summer, but he’ll kick off a fall residency tour of North America in August. The trek will feature multi-night stands in major cities like Toronto, New York, Austin, Chicago, and Los Angeles, with Styles receiving support from Madi Diaz, Blood Orange, Gabriels, Jessie Ware, and Ben Harper on select dates.

British man found dead next to wife’s blood-soaked body in ‘hotel suicide pact’

A British tourist has been found dead in a pool of blood in a hotel in Cancun with his wife bleeding next to him.

The 58-year-old man was found in his room with a broken bottle between his legs and blood around the hotel room, named locally as the City Express Hotel.

His 53-year-old wife, who is also British, was taken to hospital with multiple cuts to her arms.

Prosecutors are treating the incident as a possible suicide pact which ended with only the husband taking his own life.

Sources close to the investigation said the wife has now been released from hospital.

Sources confirmed both the dead man and his wife were British.

A spokesman for the Attorney General’s office in the state of Quintana Roo said: ‘After receiving reports a foreign tourist had died in a hotel in the municipality of Benito Juarez, an investigation was launched to clarify what had happened.

‘The initial lines of investigation are pointing to this tragic incident being a possible suicide, in which two people had the intention of ending their lives.

‘There is currently close cooperation with the consulate to offer the support the families involved need.’

A source close to the investigation said: ‘Both the dead man and his partner were travelling on British passports.

‘The investigation remains open at this stage despite the initial findings.’
