R&B singer Xavier Omär debuts new song “Feelings 4 You”

Lead single from EP releasing this Summer

Today, San Antonio singer/songwriter Xavier Omär released his latest single “Feelings 4 You,” available now at all DSPs and streaming services. The soulful track is about taking a risk with love and telling your crush your real feelings. Inspired by his own romance with his wife, Xavier imagines how different his life would be if he was never open and honest about his feelings for her. He also turned to social media and asked fans to share their own stories about a crush they never told and was shocked by the amount of responses he received. Listen to the song HERE .

“If you’ve ever had feelings for someone but never told them or had to hold them back, this song is for you,” explains Xavier. “I experienced the same thing with my wife before we started dating and the rest is history. The inspiration for this single legitimately comes from how I started dating my wife. She wanted to be friends and I really tried but I knew I felt more between us. Life is too short not to let people know when you love them.”

Went to the Jazz Café last weekend for the first time and saw this amazing artist perform songs from his latest album and his other albums and was completely blown away.

Was standing opposite the stage - right at the back of the venue, sitting up high - I could see everything.

The crowd went wild when Omar came on at 9pm - he is just so talented. When he started to play his tunes on his keyboard - with his eyes shut, he was in his own world and he so took us in the crowd with him!!

Am totally hooked - can't wait to see this man in concert again.

The PG County rap star goes big with this one, taking listeners with him to Paris as the introspective yet dance-worthy number promises to put you in a reflective mood. Elevating to another level, IDK delivers another standout that beckons serious replays throughout this weekend and beyond.

Four years removed from his first Netflix comedy special, Katt Williams triumphantly returns to deliver the funny in World War III . Taking to Las Vegas’ Dolby Live Theatre, Williams breaks down our inner conflict between lies and the truth as the Omicron variant ravages across America and systemic racism plaguing the Black community. Despite it being recorded during a wild time to be indoors, Williams knows how to pull in audiences with premises ranging from defending President Joe Biden to equating chicken wings to the end of the world. Don’t skip this must-see special, as there will be plenty of topics for you to debate and discuss with friends.

A personal fave due to its ingenious storytelling and varying animation styles, Love, Death & Robots: Volume 3 returns to Netflix with a host of odd, weird, and touching short vignettes that will satisfy longtime fans. David Fincher and Tim Miller strike again with sublime brilliance. Without spoiling anything for newcomers, Miller and Fincher give audiences another binge-worthy, cruel but true, and beautifully animated anthology series that will stay with you until Volume 4 comes out. Everything about this show screams genius, and, yes, there is no half-stepping with Love, Death & Robots as it is just as impactful as the first volume.

For the kid still residing in adults who are also looking to watch something alongside their own progeny, Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers is the perfect film to watch over the weekend. The short-lived late ‘80s animated series, which spawned a host of Disney-led merch from lunchboxes to video games, gets a satirical yet earnest reboot, starring Kiki Layne as Detective Ellie Whitfield and John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as the two rodent gumshoes Chip and Dale. Stacked to the brim with many Disney and pop culture cameos and easter eggs, the film is both earnest and a sharp critique of the Hollywood machine that considers animation “not a film genre.” If anything, audiences will run this film back for the Ugly Sonic jokes alone.

Before you go thinking that this week’s This Weekend round-up is IDK -overload, just hear me out. The rising rap star will embark on a world tour across North America and Europe that is not to miss . After displaying his impeccable skills as an MC and producer on NPR Tiny Desk , audiences are clamoring for the PG County native to bring his talents (and live band) to their hometowns around the globe. Simple. World Tour 2022 marks the culmination of hard work put together by IDK and Grammy-winning producer Kaytranada . With his trademark grooves placed alongside IDK’s musical oeuvre, songs like “Breathe,” “The Code,” and more will surely pop as they’ve never done before amongst an audience experience it live and in living color. We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

He didn't take shortcuts and really covered everything that was on the agenda in great detail. We saw beautiful metro stations and learned the history behind them, including many of the murals and designs.

Xavier Omär Shares New Song ‘Magic!’

Xavier Omär has released his new song “MAGIC!” his first offering of the year. 

The devotional tune, co-produced by Sango and Kaelin Ellis , hears Omär singing about the beauty of an authentic and enduring love. 

“I won’t make you disappear / You won’t cut me into two / What we got baby, it’s not magic / It’s for real, it’s for real,” Omär sings in the irresistible chorus, which features additional vocals from rising singer Zyah Belle .

“MAGIC!” follows Omär’s Alex Isley -assisted track, “ Peppermint Tea ,” released in December 2022. 

In July 2022, Omär released his EP, b l u r r .  The six-track release included the previously shared songs “ Feelings 4 You ” and “ Tarantino .” 

In an exclusive interview with Rated R&B, Omär revealed the behind the EP’s title: “It has been an absolute blur in learning fatherhood. It’s been a blur in kind of relearning marriage, which nobody told me about that part. Once you have a kid in a marriage, obviously some things have to change because her body has changed and her needs from you, at least temporarily, have changed”

Omär also shared what he hoped listeners will take away from b l u r r. “If any of these things are a moment in your life or it’s something that you can relate to, I just hope you connect to that. Even if it’s just one song, connect to that song and let it be something that helps you,” he stated.
