BabyZen Yoyo Review best travel stroller

After 18 months of use across 21 countries, we wanted to share our Babyzen Yoyo review! One of the best travel strollers on the market, the super compact Babyzen Yoyo is suitable from birth and is airplane cabin friendly. If you are searching for a travel stroller, we hope this Babyzen Yoyo review helps you in your choice!

Table of Contents

Features of the Best Travel Stroller

When we were deciding on our travel stroller, we looked for four key features:

  • We often travel with hand luggage only and don’t want to have to wait around for a stroller to be delivered to the aircraft door or the luggage carousel.
  • We’ve been on a ton of flights where the strollers are delivered to the luggage carousel and parents have had to juggle kids and cabin baggage on long walks from the plane.
  • Reclining stroller: kids nap everywhere and anywhere on the road so a recline is essential!
  • Strong and durable: travel strollers need to work in multiple environments and take frequent and hard usage.
  • Price: value for money is essential but we were willing to pay extra for quality.

Babyzen Yoyo+

Weighing in at less than 7kg, the Babyzen Yoyo is one of the most compact travel strollers on the market. The Babyzen Yoyo stroller meets the hand luggage size requirements of most airlines and the ability to take into the cabin and store in the overhead locker is one of its biggest selling points – check prices now

Babyzen Yoyo review tip:  we have the latest version of the Babyzen which is officially known as the Babyzen Yoyo+.

The Babyzen Yoyo comes with a sleek black or white frame, under stroller storage basket, canopy, rain cover and a protective travel bag. The Babyzen Yoyo is available in two versions:

  • a newborn bassinet style stroller suitable from birth to 6 months – check prices now
  • a 6 month+ front facing stroller – check prices now

It’s easy to switch between the newborn and 6 month+ configurations by changing the fabric set.

yoyo travel pram dimensions

Babyzen Yoyo review tip: We purchased a Babyzen set with the newborn fabrics and the 6 month+ fabrics as we wanted to use it from birth. It’s possible to purchase fabric sets which allow conversion between newborn and 6 month+ even after the initial stroller purchase. So if you purchase the newborn Babyzen Yoyo, you can convert it to the 6 month+ stroller with the purchase of the fabric set. This is also great if you want to change colours for a new baby!

Pros and Cons of the Babyzen Yoyo

With two kids under 18months, we’ve most definitely tried and tested the Babyzen Yoyo stroller and all its features to its limits! If you prefer a summary version of our Babyzen Yoyo review here it is: we’d highly recommend the Babyzen Yoyo and consider it the best travel stroller on the market!

The biggest benefit is that the Babyzen Yoyo meets cabin baggage requirements for most airlines. There’s no waiting for the stroller to arrive at the aircraft doors after landing or having to make a strollerless journey to the baggage carousel to collect a gate checked stroller!

The Babyzen Yoyo has a ton of other positive features including:

  • Cabin friendly stroller
  • Suitable from birth to 18kg (approx 4 years old)
  • Lots of high quality accessories available (see below)
  • Lightweight but strong and durable
  • Stroller reclines for naps – cannot emphasise how important this is!
  • Easy to manoeuvre with one hand
  • Easy to open and collapse with one hand
  • Handles bumpy terrain and cobblestone well
  • A range of compatible group 0 car seats can be attached
  • Canopy with two positions
  • Good storage for a travel stroller
  • Easy to carry with the strap and you can open it with one hand
  • Modern design with a nice range of colours and washable fabrics

yoyo travel pram dimensions

There aren’t really any drawbacks to the Babyzen Yoyo except that it is one of the more expensive travel strollers. Although it is a more expensive option, for us, it’s more than worth the cost!

  • More expensive than other travel strollers on the market but the quality, durability and potential to use as a primary stroller make it worth the price.
Babyzen Yoyo review tip: we use the BabyZen Yoyo as our main single kid stroller both at home and while travelling. It’s perfect for our city life and we’re so impressed with how little wear and tear its showing despite having endured over 1.5 years of hard use!

 Babyzen Yoyo Travel Accessories

There is a broad range of branded and generic accessories available for the Babyzen Yoyo + depending on your needs. This was one of the big benefits for us as you can simply buy the add-ons you actually need. WE’ve purchased a number of these and they’ve been invaluable and have been very hard wearing.

The footmuff is amazing for colder weather as it’s fleece lined and can open for both sides or the bottom. It washes easily and looks like new after 2 years of heavy use – check prices now

There are two version of the insect shield (for the newborn bassinet (0+) and the 6month plus (6+). We have both version of this and they work brilliantly. Car Seat Compatibility

Car seat compatibility was a big deal for us as we are massive road trip fans and always travel with our own car seat. It was essential that we were able to attach the car seat to the stroller for navigating airports and, occasionally, to make a seamless transition from the car when J or E were napping.

The Babyzen is compatible with several Group 0 car seats. Babyzen offer their own car seat but we opted for a Maxi-Cosi car seat which can be attached to the stroller with separately available adaptors.

Once you check your car seat is compatible (most are) its a simple as clicking the car seat onto the stroller and away you go. We cannot recommend these highly enough – check prices now!

BABYZEN YOYO Car Seat Adapters, L Version - Easily Clip The YOYO Car Seat onto The YOYO2 Stroller Frame

  • EASY TO USE - Use these adapters to attach any compatible car seat listed below to the YOYO2 Stroller with the 0+ Newborn Pack. You don’t even have to remove the fabrics from the...
  • COMPATIBILITY - The adapters work with these car seats, available in Central & N. America: Cybex Aton Q & Aton 2, Nuna Pipa & Pipa Lite, Clek Liing, and Maxi Cosi Mico Max Plus.
Babyzen Yoyo review tip: Group 0 car seats are suitable from birth to around 12 months depending on the size of the baby. The car seat can only be attached to the Babyzen during this first car seat period.

The Babyzen in Action!

We’ve used the Babyzen in 21 countries and our stroller is still in excellent condition. We’ve used it in airports, on trains, in subways and on buses. It’s even made it as far as our airplane seat on rare occasions! It’s been wheeled through safari lodges in South Africa, castles in Germany, over cobblestones in Rome and explored night markets in Taiwan. It’s performed well in every situation.

How does the Babyzen Yoyo compare to other travel strollers?

The Babyzen was the very first cabin friendly stroller to hit the market but it has since been joined by a long list of competitors. We researched and checked out so many strollers in our search for the best travel stroller. The biggest contenders include the Zoe XLC, Baby Jogger City Tour, Mountain Buggy Nano Stroller, the UPPABaby Minu and the Cybex Eezy S Twist. The Babyzen Yoyo, with all its positives, won us over and continues to do so!

We also own a GB Pockit! , the world’s smallest folding stroller, and it is a great option if you want a more inexpensive travel stroller. Its compact fold is incredible and the low price point is great – check prices now!

We’re also big on baby carrying and never leave home without our baby carrier, an Ergobaby 360. It’s amazing for short hikes, climbing hundreds of stairs to viewpoints and sights which don’t allow strollers!

Does the GB pockit do well with cobblestones in Rome?

We only took the BabyZen to Rome. I don’t think the GB Pockit is sturdy enough for cobblestones personally – it works well well on flat ground and airports etc but I’d imagine it would be a rough ride for the child.

Thank you! I have decided on getting the yoyo. Thank you for your review.

Hope you like it Dannah, we love ours!

Enjoyed reading your review. If Yoyo+ carries 1 little’n only, I’m interested to know what your solution was to transport both your little ones, do you travel with 2 prams? Laura 🙂

If we’re travelling together we take one stroller each. If one of us is off with the two of them, we take a stroller for the toddler and a carrier for the baby. When J is a little older we’ll try out the buggy board – maybe when he turns 2!

Hi, there.. Does it fold easily with the foot muff?

It still folds relatively easily – the bottom sticks out unless it’s folded in first but otherwise it’s good!

Do you think the newborn nest is sturdy enough to use as a main stroller for a newborn, or do you only use it for travel?

Hi Christina

Definitely! I used it as the main stroller for both my little ones from birth and it was great. It was our only stroller at home until we picked up a double for solo outings with both kids when they were both under 2!

What are your thoughts on the footmuff in derail. Is it warm enough for real winter? It is fleece and not wool, right? And it seems, the actual part of the feet has no lining at the back .. is that a minus?

We’ve used it in Europe in January and it’s always been plenty warm for our little ones. My youngest used it recently during winter in Seattle and Portland and it was fine and it’s also good in Ireland. I haven’t tried it anywhere extremely cold though.

I did worry about the actual feet part not having lining before we purchased but I find it fine when the kids have shoes. Our youngest isn’t walking yet so doesn’t wear shoes often but she’s too short to reach the unlined part! I’m not sure on the material but I’d guess fleece (it’s back in Florida as we didn’t need to bring it to Mexico so I can’t check!).

I have the yoyo and honestly, I loved it. I have a couple of questions though: I am going to the ski town this weekend and wondering if there is a little snow on the street would it still work? Did you ever try the board for the bigger child to ride along? And lastly, I’m pregnant again and thinking of buying the bassinet instead of the newborn set. I think for the begging may be nice to leave the stroller somewhere (down the stairs etc) and take the bassinet along so he can nap, e.g. friend’s flat, doctor’s waiting room, etc. Would you recommend it or would you anyway go for the newborn?

Thank you!!!!

We use a buggy board for our 4 and 5 year old when we go to theme parks (you can see it in this Disney article! and places with a lot of walking. It works great. We have the earlier version of the Babyzen where the bassinet wasn’t removable – I really loved it (and just used it for my 3rd baby who is almost 1 now!) so I imagine being able to remove it is a nice perk!

Not sure if you’re still checking this site, however, my son is 3.5 and we are looking for a travel stroller for an upcoming trip to London and France. How do you think the babyzen would fit him?

Just wondering with the lack of locking on the front wheels, did they wobble/flutter when using? Esp in Europe where the pavement isn’t flat?

I’ve never had an issue and we’ve been all over Europe with the Babyzen – we’ve just got back from 6 weeks in France and it worked great.

The Babyzen YOYO² is now, more than ever, THE absolute must-have stroller to make life as a parent as easy as possible. With YOYO², Babyzen has improved the technology of their iconic stroller, without changing its DNA, which is still and will always be spectacularly easy to fold and unfold, compact and amazingly lightweight. When folded, it is so compact that it no longer resembles a stroller, but believe us, it is! It is so easy to fold and unfold that parents are guaranteed a weightless and stress-free experience, making their lives so much easier, every day. From birth, you can switch from the 0+ newborn nest (sold seperately), stylish rear-facing stroller, to a compatible car seat. From 6 months, on the same frame, simply change to your 6+ fabrics and your stroller will accompany your child to early childhood… You can find the complete Babyzen YOYO² stroller with Newborn Nest here . What are the differences between YOYO+ and YOYO²? YOYO has a new look and evolves into YOYO² with a new reinforced frame, improved independent suspensions on all 4 wheels and a new handlebar in faux leather with a tether strap. It now has a new universal buckle design, new harness strap more pleasant to the touch and a new tool-free reversible backrest. Still just as lightweight and compact, YOYO² has double the agility and ingenuity to make your life even easier! Can YOYO² still be taken onboard a plane? Yes! The dimensions of the folded YOYO² stroller (52 x 44 x 18 cm) are equal to or less than most airlines cabin luggage allowance. It's a revolution for traveling parents. The tip is to carry YOYO in its travel bag, sold as an accessory, or in the protective bag already supplied. Does YOYO² have the same weight? Yes, 6.2 kg for the 6 month+ version and 6.6 kg for the 0+ version. A record for an all-in-one city stroller that can be upgraded from birth onwards! What is the maximum weight supported by YOYO²? YOYO² is designed to accommodate a child weighing up to 22 kg Note: Babyzen YOYO Rain Cover sold seperately.

The BabyZen YOYO: The Best Stroller to Take on Flights

Your first time navigating the airport with a newborn is an entirely new experience, no matter what a seasoned traveler you are. The Babyzen YOYO by Air France has become our most dependable travel item.

yoyo travel pram dimensions

Every family has their own system and preferences when it comes to family travel, but they BabyZen YOYO has made our airport routine much easier. My wife and I rely on the stroller for all our air travel because its easy to use through customs and security procedures, and then quickly packs up to fit overhead for the flight.

The BabyZen YOYO is expertly designed for air travel. It’s lightweight and folds into a compact size in seconds, so navigating the airport isn’t much different than it was prior to becoming parents. Before we started traveling with a baby, I had no idea the extent of how most airlines cater to young families. Aside from the pre-boarding announcement for those traveling with small kids, I didn’t really pay attention or observe the changes in families who fly. Yes, you get extra time to board first, but you can also gate check all of your baby items—stroller included—at no extra charge. It’s an amazing service that I recommend all families with young children take advantage of. I gate check our YOYO if we’re on a full flight, but otherwise, I fold it up and put it in an overhead bin in the cabin. It fits easily on all flights.

While you can’t use the BabyZen YOYO during the flight, upon disembarking you can help yourself with a good system. Having the stroller kept overhead where it’s super easy to access as soon as you land means your child can go back in the stroller immediately. We’ve found this to be a huge help because having your hands free is essential to retrieve checked luggage, exit the airport and get transportation to the destination with the full family in tow.

The stroller starts as a bassinet and scales up to a seated stroller when your child reaches six months — without compromising the size and compact functionality. It’s available in six colors, plus the blue patterned edition of the Air France collaboration (our personal favorite).

In comparison with other strollers on the market, the BabyZen YOYO does lack the sturdiness and wheel smoothness on rough surfaces from some competitors, but it easily makes up for any shortcomings by being the best by far in the travel department. The lightweight material that makes it quick and easy to store is a game changer through the entire airport process from an overloaded security line to boarding a crowded flight.

Babyzen Yoyo+ Stroller review

yoyo travel pram dimensions

  • Lucy Felton

for pushchair only

In a nutshell

It may look small but the super-light Yoyo 0+ is suitable from birth right up to around three years and is travel system compatible with a 0+ group car seat. The first buggy to fit in an aeroplane overhead locker, it has a tiny fold, but is definitely one for the city, not the country

What we tested

  • Suitable from birth, compact, lightweight, comfortable, travel-friendly, quick-fold, one-handed steer, travel system-compatible with car seat
  • Premium-price, small shopping basket, not designed for rough terrain, canopy doesn’t shade from sun efficiently, fixed bassinet not removable

Looking for the most up to date model for 2023? Read our Babyzen Yoyo2 review

When the Babyzen Yoyo was first launched in 2012, it became an instant hit. Marketed as the first buggy that folded so small you could pop it in the overhead locker of an aeroplane, it was compact and lightweight.

The Babyzen Yoyo 0+ is the result of improvements over the past few years and is now suitable for children from birth with the use of a babynest. The ability to attach a 0+ group car seat on top means this really is a versatile travel system option.

You can use it in two different ways depending on the age of your child. With the addition of the Babyzen Yoyo+ Newborn pack (£195 on Amazon ), you can convert your stroller into a parent-facing newborn pushchair with a pop-up canopy, harness, foot cover and head support.

The Babyzen Yoyo+ BeSafe iZi Go Modular i-Size Group 0+ Baby Car Seat (£240) can be fixed to the chassis with adapters to complete the travel system, or the Yoyo 0+ is also compatible with other branded car seats including Cybex, Maxi Cosi and Nuna. From 6 months you switch the seat fabrics on the chassis to the 6+ colour pack (which comes with the buggy) to transform it into an outward-facing stroller with multi-position reclining seat.

Lucy used the Babyzen 0+ for her baby daughter from 3 months through to 6 months old, using both the Yoyo babynest and the Yoyo+ BeSafe iZi Go Modular i-Size Group 0+ Baby Car Seat.

Lucy lives on the London/Surrey boarders and mainly tested the pushchair in towns, central London, on trains, the London Underground and local parks. She also spends time in the countryside and on the coast, so used it in rural settings and on the beach too.

Watch our video review of the Babyzen Yoyo in action

What were your first impressions of the travel system.

Having used a Cybex Priam travel system with my son and then a Nuna Demi Grow double pram travel system when my daughter was born, I’m familiar with pushing around a durable, heavy-duty pram.

So my first encounter with the lightweight Babyzen Yoyo 0+ was like having a total pram detox – it’s smooth, streamlined and featherlight, without compromising on looks. For something so slight, it stands up well to any other city or travel pram I’ve tested. Not only does it move like a dream, but it looks seriously smart too, with a premium finish.

yoyo3

How does the Babyzen Yoyo+ compare to other travel systems you have tried?

It’s very light and compact, so it’s great for strolling around town or taking on holiday.

It offers more than a typical holiday stroller (like the Britax Holiday , for example) in that you can attach a car seat to make a travel system.

Unlike a regular travel system with a full-sized carrycot, however, you can’t detach the Yoyo 0+ babynest from the chassis with a bumper bar or handle. This means that if you intend on using a carrycot as somewhere to lay the baby down for day naps and in the house, then this is probably not the right pram for you.

It’s also not suitable to use as an occasional cot for sleeping in overnight.

Saying that, the Yoyo 0+ pushchair is so compact that you can easily wheel it around your house for day naps as the footprint itself won’t take up any more space than a traditional bassinet.

How comfy is the bassinet for a newborn baby?

Compared to a full-sized traditional pram bassinet, you could be forgiven for thinking the Babyzen Yoyo 0+ babynest is a tad on the small side. However, it is actually extremely cosy and comfortable and my daughter slept so well in it. The 5-point harness is easy to fasten and the slim design means it doesn’t drown or restrict your baby. There’s also a sweet little head rest which adds to the cosy factor.

When the footmuff is all zipped up, with its extremely snug, fluffy lining, the babynest is ultimately like a comforting sleeping bag for a baby. You can also fully unzip the top section for warmer weather.

yoyo-11

Does the Babyzen Yoyo+ provide enough stability for a newborn baby?

It’s worth mentioning that while I would happily have put my newborn daughter in the car seat straight from hospital, I would not have wanted to push her around in the babynest until she was at least 3 months old as it felt too light and flimsy to me.

How comfortable is the 6m+ seat for older babies?

Fellow MFM reviewer Anna tested the Yoyo’s 6m+ seat with her son. She says: “The seat is padded and has a 5-point harness. The seat depth is quite narrow, so my son’s legs weren’t that well supported when he was younger, but that has become less of a problem as he’s grown.

“Despite its overall tiny look, I’m impressed by how well the seat accommodates my 3-year-old, who often commandeers the buggy when she is tired – it’s great that the buggy can last that long. I find the way the seat back adjusts a bit annoying, however. It has a simple strap that allows you to adjust the back, either holding it tightly in an upright position, or lowering it to near horizontal.

“You need to hold the back up, while tightening the toggle, which is tricky to do one-handed, especially with your baby or child in situ. Also, the upright position is not as upright as I would like, so my toddler always seems a bit slumped.”

Is the Babyzen Yoyo+’s handlebar height-adjustable?

No, but I think the handlebar is set at a great height. It is non-adjustable and quite high at 106cm, which I found both suitable for myself at 5’4” and my 6’ husband.

How easy is the Yoyo 0+ to push on smooth surfaces?

The chassis is strong and sturdy and although the wheels appear to be on the small side, the Babyzen is really quite shock-absorbent and nippy for a lightweight city pram.

The buggy has 4-wheel suspension and a ‘soft drive’ system which makes it glide well on even terrain. On a smooth surface you can almost spin it around in a circle pushing with just one finger, it’s that easy to steer.

yoyo-4

Is it easy to use the Babyzen Yoyo on public transport?

I used the Yoyo 0+ for trips into central London, on trains and on the London Underground.

The babynest and car seat are both great options for these kind of trips.

Although your baby may experience a little more movement when in the bassinet, the fact you can tuck the pram into the most crammed space on a train, far outweighs any concern about baby being slightly rocked around in my opinion. In fact, my daughter was instantly put to sleep with that little bit of extra movement in the babynest.

However, having had a reflux baby the first time around, I’m not sure my son would have found this movement quite so appealing as newborn, especially after a feed.

How effective is the Babyzen Yoyo's brake?

The brake is flip-flop friendly and easy to engage. However, due to its small size and the length of the bassinet blocking visibility, it can sometimes be a bit tricky to use when you are quickly trying to action it. I often found myself having to peer over to the right to get a clear view of the brake. However, it’s really not a deal-breaker.

yoyo6

What is the hood like on the Babyzen Yoyo 0+?

The hooded canopy fixes with two press studs which can be left in place or undone so that it drops back and lets your baby see out.

The canopy offers UPF 50+ sun protection but it does fall short when it comes to shading on very warm days so I would recommend purchasing the umbrella parasol.

How useful is the basket?

As with many compact/travel prams, the shopping basket is fairly small. You will struggle to get a large changing bag underneath. Although a handful of groceries (box of eggs, a kilo of flour, a pack of baby wipes and 2 bottles of baby bath) will fit, it’s not suitable for any big shopping trips.

Due to the curved shape of the handlebar, I wouldn’t recommend adding any significant extra weight attached to the handlebar with a buggy clip, for example.

Considering how small the buggy folds, and how lightweight it is, the storage limitations feel like a small compromise.

yoyo2

How compact is the Babyzen Yoyo 0+ pushchair?

Extremely compact! Both folded and unfolded, it’s noticeably smaller than other compact pushchairs like the Bugaboo Bee5 . The Babyzen Yoyo 0+ measures just 52cm x44cm x18cm when folded (even with the babynest attached) and can be carried on one shoulder with a strap. Both the collapsed pram and car seat fit neatly in any hallway without taking up too much room at all.

Will it fit through my front door?

Yes, the Yoyo+ is slim in width (44cm), which means it’s easy to weave in and out of narrow shopping aisles and will fit easily through standard doors.

Does it fit in the boot of your car?

Yes, with ease. If your boot is full, it will even sit happily in a footwell or on a passenger seat too.

yoyo-car

How much does the Babyzen Yoyo weigh?

The 6+ version weighs 6.2 kg (13.6 lbs), while the 0+ version weighs 6.6 kg (14.7 lbs). Not quite as light as the Silver Cross Avia (5.5kg) or the super-light Chicco OhLaLa Stroller (3.8kg) but still an impressively lightweight option.

How does the pushchair fold?

Like many buggies, there’s a knack to learning how to fold it but once you’ve got it, it’s incredibly simple. It’s definitely quicker and easier as a 2-handed operation, but when necessary I could just about manage a 1-handed fold, provided the handlebar was dropped before lifting the baby out. Unlike many compact buggies which have the fold-release button on the handlebar, the Yoyo 0+ has a release button underneath the babynest, on the underside of the chassis.

  • First of all, you have to press the 2 buttons on either side of the hood, which allows you to fold the handle bar back on itself. This needs to be done with 2 hands
  • Then you reach under the seat, press a little red button to pinch a handle which releases the folding mechanism, and the buggy folds and clips together neatly

To unfold, you release the clip, lock the pram handle into place and shake the buggy apart to open the rest of the chassis frame.

What do you think of the Yoyo+ BeSafe iZi Go Modular i-Size Group 0+ Baby Car Seat?

The car seat is light (just 3.7kg), simple to use and overall very comfortable for baby.

There’s a newborn insert for small and early babies and once removed, ample room for older babies.

Yoyo advises this seat is for up to 12-15 months, however my daughter is now 6 months old and pretty much filling the seat.

yoyo7

Is the car seat easy to install?

It’s a very safe and sturdy car seat, which fixes into your car with either an Isofix base (sold separately) or with a seatbelt. I just used my seatbelt and it’s a really simple and easy-to-master process.

There’s an additional impact bar that’s quickly attached to the side nearest to the car door and I think this is a brilliant feature.

How does the car seat fit onto the chassis?

The car seat comes with 2 adapters which easily fasten onto the chassis. There are grooves in the frame so that you know instantly when the adapters are correctly positioned on the frame.

When you want to pop the car seat onto the Yoyo 0+ frame, you collapse the handle bar, undo the 2 poppers so that the canopy drops backwards and then release the 2 babynest clips at the side of the handlebar base so that the babynest simply folds in on itself and creates a base for the car seat.

The car seat then simply clicks into the adapters and there’s no need to remove the babynest entirely. Bring the handlebar back up and you’re ready to go.

yoyo8

Which car seats can be used with the Babyzen Yoyo+?

Babyzen has worked with renowned Norwegian car seat company BeSafe, to create its own version of the popular iZi Go car seat exclusively for the Yoyo+ – called the Babyzen Yoyo+ BeSafe. When you buy this car seat, you get the adaptors for the Yoyo+.

You can also buy adaptors so you can use the following car seats with the Yoyo+:

  • Cybex Cloud Z
  • Maxi-Cosi Pebble
  • Maxi-Cosi Pebble Pro
  • Cybex Aton Q

Is the Babyzen Yoyo+ value for money?

The Yoyo is a premium lightweight stroller, with a premium price. But when it comes to how it manoeuvres and how small it packs away you can really see the quality.

If you’re only going to use it as an occasional pram or a second holiday buggy then this might be an investment too far. But, as a first buggy for a newborn and used with the car seat as a travel system, it offers excellent value.

Does the Babyzen Yoyo+ come with a raincover?

Yes. The rain cover fits nicely, and isn’t too bulky.

How robust and durable is the Yoyo+?

As a pram to run errands and pop into town, this is ideal. If you are planning on walking long distances and being in the park a lot, then I’m not sure the Yoyo will have quite the same lifespan as something designed with all-terrain wheels.

I currently have the Joie Aire Twin, Cybex Eezy S Twist and Babyzen Yoyo 0+ on rotation, depending on what we are doing as a family.

Therefore my Yoyo isn’t getting used daily. I do see it as more of an occasional pram and particularly for travel and holidays.

However, fellow reviewer Anna says: “I have been using the Babyzen Yoyo for quite a while, and I found the buggy very reliable. The chassis is sturdy and durable. I have probably abused the stroller more than it should be, as my very tall 3-year-old insists on hitching a ride, and we have travelled a lot and tested the buggy board. My impression is that the product will last a good while. It’s great, too, that the covers can be taken off easily and washed.”

yoyo10

How well does the Babyzen Yoyo+ buggy board work?

The board is designed for a child aged 2-5 years to stand or sit between the buggy’s handlebar and the grown-up, rather than popping their head through the bar. It’s suitable up to a maximum weight of 20kg.

MFM reviewer Anna tested it with her daughter, and says it was the the first buggy board where she didn’t complain of aching knees or being rattled about.

Does the buggy board make it harder to manoeuvre?

Not surprisingly, the buggy board does affect the handling of the stroller. However, MFM tester Anna says: “The buggy is still very easy to push, even with one hand, and the buggy board feels very secure. I found the buggy behaves a bit more temperamentally with a child on the buggy board – you definitely need to slow down a bit. Also, I was only able to tackle the lowest of kerbs with confidence. Sometimes I had to nudge the board up the kerb with my foot. But with practice, you know how to anticipate more tricky obstacles.”

However, it can get in the way of walking feet, she adds, saying: “I spent a lot of time walking next to the handlebar, as the wheels sticking out from under the board get in the way of my feet. Having said that, the set-up is still very easy to push.”

Is it easy to attach to the back of the Yoyo stroller?

Yes, it’s a joy to attach to the stroller, according to fellow reviewer, Anna. There are 2 holes in the chassis of the buggy, and the board comes with a patented connecting system which allows you to click it on and off with one hand. You pinch 2 rings that retract 2 metal pegs and then release them into the holes.

How do you store the buggy board when it’s not in use?

Yes, you can store the board by securing it with a simple strap, and the buggy still handles really well, says Anna. “You can either store it very snugly, tucked under the backrest; or at a bit more of an angle, if the saddle is attached or the baby is reclined. You hardly notice the board when stored in either position, so this is a real plus.”

Can you fold the Babyzen Yoyo with the board attached?

No, unfortunately you can’t fold the Yoyo with the board attached. However, as the board is so easy to click on and off, you can still store the buggy very quickly when you need to, and pop the board in a bag.

How much does the buggyboard weigh and how much heavier does it make the Yoyo stroller?

The whole board, including the small saddle, weighs a light 1.7kg, so it’s easy to be on the move with buggy and board. Its dimensions are 28.6 x 19 x 41cm, making it easy to take along in a large shoulder bag.

How does the buggy board compare to any generic buggy board you have tried?

You’re not supposed to use a generic buggy board with the Babyzen Yoyo+. However, having seen a number of mums use it with the Lascal Mini, MFM reviewer Anna gave it a go.

“The stroller works OK with the Lascal, but the board makes the buggy a bit stiff to manoeuvre. The Lascal board is positioned a tad closer to the seat of the stroller, so it’s easier to get your feet behind it without bending awkwardly,” she says. “However, the Babyzen buggy board makes the set-up easier to handle, to push one-handed for example, and to turn corners.”

How did you like the look of the Babyzen Yoyo overall?

The Yoyo is a smart-looking system. The prams are instantly recognisable by their shape and the white frame and wheels really stand out.

In terms of colour-ways, the AirFrance limited edition navy fabrics are very chic and there’s a lovely chevron print on the babynest that’s a real statement.

There’s an array of colour fabrics to choose from including red, blue, black, taupe, grey, peppermint and ginger.

MadeForMums verdict

The Yoyo 0+ is ideal for anyone living in a city, town or urban area because it’s so light, narrow and agile. You’ll be able to whizz around town with this pram and squeeze through the tightest spots and smallest doorways. However, I’m not sure I would entirely replace my main pram for the Yoyo 0+ because our family enjoys long walks in the countryside, days on the beach and exploring locations with rough terrain, which the wheels just aren’t suitable for. All in all, the Yoyo 0+ is a fantastic option if you are looking for something small, compact, light and convenient.

Babyzen YOYO stroller

I’ve Tried At Least A Dozen Strollers & I Always Come Back To This One

It’s in a league of its own.

When my husband and I were setting up our baby registry , the one baby gear item we hemmed and hawed over was the stroller . At the time, we lived in Brooklyn and didn’t have a car, so we wanted something that felt safe, sturdy, and durable, but was also convenient for city life: good for long walks through parks and streets, feasible to bring on the subway or bus without assistance, and didn’t take up our entire apartment. Our strategy was to ask every local family we knew for their stroller recommendation and cross check it with the most popular strollers that were being sold in NYC baby stores. For months we revisited the stroller sections of stores, weighing our options, pushing various prams around, folding and unfolding them. At home we watched endless videos about our final contenders. It came down to three options and in the end, the Babyzen YOYO won.

This was seven years ago — Babyzen was a new brand and only had one model, the YOYO. Most of our friends with older children (whose opinions I trusted) had the Uppababy Vista or Cruz and loved it. That’s why, if we spotted a YOYO in the wild, my husband would chase the family down while I waddled 20 steps behind to harass them for their review. I think it was the adorable family we approached in Italy during our babymoon that sealed the deal for me. Even as they were navigating cobblestone streets, the family told us what they loved and didn’t love about the stroller, but were emphatic that the pros almost eclipsed the cons.

Babyzen YOYO² stroller 6+

  • Price: $499 for the stroller frame and fabric kit (the seat). For babies younger than 6 months, the newborn pack (which is essentially a bassinet) is $180. Like many strollers, you can buy a full set or pieces (the frame, seat, bassinet, and accessories) a la cart.
  • Sizes: One size, but there is a version for newborns (with a bassinet) or 6 months+ (with a seat for babies who are strong and old enough to sit up, and older). There’s also YOYO Connect, which is a special frame that connects to another YOYO stroller frame so that you can push two at the same time.
  • Weight: 13.7 lbs
  • Dimensions: 20.5 × 17.3 × 7.1 in. when folded
  • Frame colors: Black or white
  • Fabric colors: Stone (grey), Black, Olive, Ginger (salmon), Aqua, Taupe, and Air France Blue (navy).
  • Accessories: They have a huge selection of add-ons , including a parasol, cup holder, mosquito net, rain cover, mittens, foot muff, kick board (with a removable seat), storage bag, skis (yes, really, for light snow), and even replacement handlebars and wheels.
  • Who it’s for: All parents with newborns, babies, toddlers, and young children up to 48.5 lbs.
  • When to use: Every day, especially for city life and traveling.
  • Pro-tip: The YOYO accommodates two to three children, depending on the configuration. It’ll fit two with the standard stroller and kick board or YOYO Connect frame; it fits three if you connect two strollers using the YOYO Connect and add a kick board.

The Babyzen YOYO has all the standard features of many strollers on the market today: 50+ UPF water-resistant fabric, five-point harness (on both the seat and bassinet), reclining back rest, bottom storage basket, canopy window, one-handed maneuverability, car-seat compatibility with an adapter, and loads of other add-ons sold separately. The materials — aluminum alloy, stainless steel, and fiber-glass reinforced plastics — allow it to be both strong and lightweight.

You can fold, unfold, and push the YOYO stroller with only one hand, and it’s light enough to carry on your shoulder (with the attached padded shoulder strap). This makes it convenient for everyday use and perfect for travel.

The storage basket is on the small side compared to other strollers, but honestly, that just made us pack more minimally, so we don’t have many complaints here. There is an additional storage bag attachment you can purchase if you plan on taking the stroller with you to run errands and you need somewhere to stash your groceries.

The maintenance

Cleaning the Babyzen YOYO is pretty easy. The cushioned back rest can get tossed in the washing machine for deep cleans. But because the fabric is water-resistant, you can pretty easily brush off spills with a napkin or flick off dried schmutz with a bristle brush. We’ve also hosed this thing off in our driveway and let it air dry.

Our stroller has gotten pretty banged up after six years of almost daily use, but it still works just as well now as it did when we first got it. Especially the first three years of my eldest’s life, we were walking her 15 minutes to and from daycare Monday through Friday and took her (and the stroller) with us everywhere on weekends.

Some assembly is required. Setting the stroller up was probably our least favorite part, but we followed an instructional video on YouTube and were able to do it fairly easily, if not super quickly. Once it is put together, it’s easy to remove and reassemble the parts that can be thrown in the washing machine.

How I use the Babyzen YOYO stroller for travel & everyday needs

Folding the stroller down with the newborn or age 6+ seat is easy. For flights, we just collapse it before boarding and gate-check it. We don’t even throw it in a travel bag, and honestly, haven’t had any issues that way, because the stroller it locks closed and has a shoulder strap to carry it hands-free. It also stands upright even when folded. For local trips (within driving distance), we can fit this in the trunk of our compact SUV alongside suitcases for a family of four, a guitar, toys, and more.

It was also the perfect stroller for city life. I’ve carried this thing by myself up and down countless flights of stairs to and from the subway with my child clipped inside. (I am a very petite person with limited upper body strength, but I was still able to do this with a fair amount of ease.) When taking the bus, I would tuck my baby in a baby carrier, strap a diaper bag to my back, and sling the folded stroller over my shoulder, because the MTA only allows folded strollers on their buses. It was still doable for me.

I don’t recommend the YOYO, however, if you live in a rural area and will be dealing with a lot of uneven terrain, like unpaved roads, gravel driveways, and tall grassy fields, because the small wheels just don’t glide well over them. Of course if you have the money and want to buy this as a travel stroller on top of a tanker of an everyday stroller, it’s great in that it folds to about the size of a small carry-on suitcase, and leaves room in closets and trunks for plenty of other things.

Pros & cons

  • It’s so lightweight.
  • It’s easy to fold, carry, and clean.
  • The color choices are classic and sophisticated.
  • You don’t have to purchase an additional travel stroller.
  • It’s got all the bells and whistles you want in a stroller, in a compact size.
  • It’s expensive.
  • The small, narrow wheels make it not ideal for rocky, gravelly, or uneven terrain.
  • You have to buy a separate bassinet for newborns.

The final verdict

Testing strollers is part of my job (there’s, like, five in my garage right now), and while each has its own exceptional qualities and flaws, I always come back to the YOYO. It might not be perfect in every single way — I sometimes wish it had a bigger basket, or that it could handle a gravel driveway a bit better — it’s the most well-rounded stroller I’ve come across.

Of course you should do your own research and see if the YOYO is right for you. Not every family has the same needs. For city or suburban life, if you want a stroller that is actually easy to use and light enough to lift it in and out of a car trunk without breaking your back, the YOYO is a solid stroller that hasn’t let us down yet.

If I could afford it, I would buy this stroller for all my pregnant friends.

Can you take a pram on a plane?

As long as you’re travelling with a young child, most airlines will allow you to check in a lie-flat, collapsible pushchair free of charge. However, airlines have different rules and restrictions in place when it comes to pram size and where pushchairs can be stored onboard a flight.

Some airlines insist that your pram, pushchair (and car seat if you need to take one) are stored in the hold, while others allow smaller, fold-down buggies and strollers to be taken on board and stored in the overhead locker compartments. If you’re taking a pram onboard with you, there are strict size and weight restrictions to comply with so it’s important to be aware of the latest advice from the airline you’re flying with.

Can you take a pram as cabin baggage?

Some airlines will allow you to take a cabin-approved stroller as carry-on/ hand luggage , subject to size and weight restrictions. It’s worth noting however that in most cases, this is instead of your own hand luggage (so you won't be able to have another bag of your own).

What size pram can you take on a plane?

As a general rule, pushchairs going into the hold need to be fully collapsible and weigh less than 10kg.

According to the International Air Transport Associations’ passenger baggage rules guide , a pushchair should have maximum dimensions of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm to be ‘cabin approved’ (and be placed in the overhead lockers as carry-on/hand luggage).

That said, the size and weight of the pram you’re allowed to take on a plane varies from one airline to the next so we’ve looked at guidance from a range of airlines below.

1. BabyZen Yoyo2

Price: RRP £430 | Buy now from John Lewis

When it comes to travel-friendly lightweight strollers, Mumsnet users can’t speak highly enough of the BabyZen Yoyo2 . This compact pram has cabin-friendly dimensions when it’s folded down (52 x 44 x 18 cm) so it’s small enough to meet most airlines' cabin luggage requirements. Being able to put a sleeping (or wriggly) baby straight into a pram as soon as you land can make for a smooth start to a family holiday. The downside? At £400+, it doesn’t come cheap but if you're a frequent flyer it’s worth the expense.

What Mumsnet users say

“Baby Zen Yoyo!! Fits in the overhead compartment!! I’ve flown with 6-month-old alone and checked a bag and brought buggy as a carry-on so I have it as soon as I leave the plane - also have a tiny flat so it takes up no space” - tried and tested by Mumsnet user, Fupoffyagrasshole

“We have three kids, four buggies and family in different countries. Seriously, if you will travel a bit or are planning more than one kid, get a Yoyo. Nothing else even comes close in terms of making flights with kids easier.”  - Recommended by Mumsnet user, badg3r

2. Ergobaby Metro+ Stroller

Price: RRP £299 | Buy now from John Lewis

The Ergobaby Metro+ folds down to a very compact and slimline size making it a convenient option small enough to fit in most overhead cabin compartments. It looks similar to the BabyZen Yoyo but is a more affordable option.

“Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE our Ergobaby Metro+. And it's got the AGR seal of approval so designed to be good for bad backs!” - recommended by Mumsnet user, EisforElephants )

3. Silver Cross Pop

Price: RRP £245 | Buy now from Amazon

The one-handed ‘pop’ unfold of this lightweight stroller makes it an ideal travel companion. It’s too big to store in an overhead locker so you’ll need to check it in or drop it off with baggage handlers at the gate but this lightweight all-terrain pushchair is a popular choice to take on a family holiday, whatever your destination.

“Silver Cross Pop, I bought mine second hand and I’ve taken it on flights several times.” -  rated by Mumsnet user, Sakura03

"I love mine, it is so lightweight & a fab town buggy. Used it from when my DS was 3 and half months old... travelled to NZ with it" - recommended by Mumsnet user, bounty007

4. Joie Pact

Price: RRP £160 | Buy now from John Lewis

This affordable travel buggy is a fraction of the price of other cabin-approved pushchairs. With a large SPF sun hood, it’s ideal for summer beach holidays. It doesn’t sit entirely upright though and it’s better suited to smooth terrain.

“Joie Pact! Took it to Tenerife & it was great. Prefer it to my expensive Maclaren.” - tried and tested by Mumsnet user, DigitalGhost

5. Micralite Profold

Price: RRP £240 | Buy now from Micralite

This great all-rounder works well as an everyday pram as well as a lightweight cabin-approved buggy. Weighing just 7kg, this compact, easy-fold stroller is surprisingly robust for its size, making it a great travel option when flying with toddlers.

“Have a look at the Micralite Profold. Much cheaper than the Yoyo.” - recommended by Mumsnet user, Monstamio

“I have the Micralite ProFold for my almost seven-month-old and love it. It weighs under 7kg and is cabin-approved when folded down (with one hand)!” - rated by Mumsnet user, Theeasypeasywoman

Do you need to use a pram cover when flying?

While it’s not compulsory to use a pram cover when putting your pushchair in the hold, we’d recommend using one to protect your stroller and prevent it from getting broken or damaged during transit.

“We've always used them - they're great" - recommended by Mumsnet user, IwishIhadtimetoreadnewspapers

Top tips for flying with a pram from Mumsnet users

1. get a stroller bag to protect your pram.

Baggage handlers can be a little well…. haphazard when loading and unloading luggage, so if you’re putting a pushchair in the hold, a stroller bag is recommended. Not only are they waterproof to keep your pushchair dry and hygienic, but they can prevent scuffs and scratches to the frame, chassis or fabric.

“I've never had a pram be damaged while flying but they do get thrown around. Some airlines (Emirates and Air Canada that I've used) give you big bags to put prams and car seats in. They are only plastic though so wouldn't protect against more than scratches.” - experience of Mumsnet user, Jestem

“We had a stroller bag from Amazon (think the brand was Diono?) and it was great. We did 5/6 overseas trips with no damage.” - recommended by Mumsnet user Daisy2990

2. Opt for a pushchair you can take on board

Storing a pushchair in the hold is fine for most people, but if you have a very young child or struggle to carry a toddler, it’s worth bearing in mind that you won’t get it back until luggage collection, meaning the journey through passport control could be challenging with a babe in arms. Unless you’re using a baby carrier or a baby carrier backpack , you may find it easier to opt for a stroller that meets your airline’s hand luggage/carry on requirements, allowing you to travel with it from door to door.

“You can always take it to the gate when you board but I rarely get it back when we get off, it always goes to luggage collection. I ended up buying one I could take on board with me and put in the overhead bin or under the seat. Lifesaver when I travelled solo with my son.” - advice from Mumsnet user, MissMooMoo

“I’d definitely recommend a carry-on stroller. Super easy to use and no having to carry your baby through the airport if they don’t bring it up to the aircraft door.” - recommendation from Mumsnet user, TroubledLichen

Read next: How to clean a pram, including top tips from Mumsnet users

3. Protect it from knocks and scuffs

Before you put your pushchair in the hold, try and protect it as much as possible. You can wrap the handlebars in bubble wrap or foam to protect them or consider cable ties to hold the pushchair shut. You may also want to remove accessories like cupholders or bump bars to prevent them from getting lost or discarded. Some airports have a plastic wrap machine, which can be a useful way for sealing the entire unit if you don’t have a stroller bag.

“If you have to check in a pram with your luggage there’s that plastic wrap machine you could use. Squeeze it as tightly shut as possible and wrap away - may prevent some damage.” - tip from Mumsnet user, KathArtic

4. Buy a cheap stroller specifically for travelling

Unless you’re travelling regularly, it may not be worth investing in an expensive fold-down pushchair, particularly as they’re handled roughly at times. The alternative is to pick up a cheap stroller specifically for travel, one that will meet your short-term needs without being a huge loss if it gets lost or broken during the return trip.

“Don't take an expensive pram on a plane. They get chucked all over the place. It could get broken or lost. Get a cheap holiday one.” - advice from Mumsnet user, DearMrDilkington

5. Use a sling or a baby carrier

If you’re putting your pushchair in the hold, you may want to consider taking a sling or baby carrier in your hand luggage. The walk-through to baggage reclaim can be quite challenging without a pushchair and a sling will allow you to have both hands free for passport control and luggage reclaim.

“I'd recommend a sling as while you drop the stroller off at the gate on departure you often don't get it back till baggage reclaim on the other side and it's a bit of a walk sometimes!” - tip from Mumsnet user, Bipbipbipbip

6. Check your insurance

If you’re travelling with an expensive pushchair, it’s worth checking your travel insurance before you leave in the event of loss or damage during your journey.

“Check out your insurance, I paid an excess waiver for less than £10 for a year. That way if it's damaged I'm covered.” - advice from Mumsnet user, wwwwwwwwwwwwww

Alternatives to flying with a pram

If the thought of flying with a pram is enough to put you off booking a family holiday , there are some alternative options to consider.

Hire a pushchair

Many modern hotels now provide concierge or rental services, particularly at family-friendly resorts . While this won’t help at the airport itself, once you’ve got to your hotel it means your travel around the resort is covered for the duration of your stay

“We found a rental company that worked with our hotel. We hired a baby jogger city mini and a bouncer for £50ish for the week. Delivered & picked up from our hotel. Used a carrier at the airport. DS was 6 months then.” - recommended by Mumsnet user, anonymouse

“I wouldn’t take the risk and arranged to hire one. The guy from the hire shop was at the hotel as we arrived, left it with us and even collected it again so we didn’t have to traipse up with my daughter!” - a positive experience from Mumsnet user, ROSEgarden

Take a sling or a baby carrier

Depending on your destination and the age of your child, you might not even need a pushchair at all. When travelling with  younger babies, you may find it easier to simply take a baby carrier or a baby carrier backpack , which can offer a less restrictive and hands-free travel experience.

Can you take a pram on a Ryanair flight?

Yes, Ryanair allows two items of baby equipment per child (e.g. a pushchair and a car seat , a booster seat or a travel cot ) free of charge.

Ryanair doesn’t allow carry-on pushchairs, however, in most cases Ryanair will allow you to take your tagged pushchair right up to the aircraft steps, reducing the need to walk long distances while carrying your baby.

Can you take a pram on an easyJet flight?

Yes, easyJet allows two additional items for your child to be put in the hold free of charge (travel cot, pushchair, car seat, collapsible or non-collapsible pram, booster seat and/or baby back carrier). The items can then be collected at baggage reclaim when you arrive at your destination.

easyJet also allows you to take a carry-on pushchair that meets its hand luggage dimension requirements (45 x 36 x 20 cm, including handles and wheels) and weighs less than 15kg.

Can you take a pram on a British Airways flight?

Yes, a pram or pushchair can be placed in the hold on a British Airways flight, so long as it is a single-piece, slimline and fully collapsible pushchair. Pushchairs with maximum dimensions of 38cm x 117cm x 38cm can be taken up to the aircraft door, whereas larger pushchairs will need to be collected at baggage reclaim.

Pushchairs that fold down to meet carry-on baggage requirements can be taken on board, subject to space and in place of your own hand luggage bag. Maximum carry bag dimensions vary depending on your destination, so check your flight details before you travel.

Can you take a pram on a Jet2 flight?

Yes, Jet2 allows a collapsible pushchair and/or a car seat or a travel cot to be carried in the hold for free, subject to a maximum weight of 10kg.

Alternatively, you can use a carry-on pushchair in place of your own carry-on hand luggage, subject to a 10kg weight limit and maximum dimensions of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (including any wheels or handles).

The BABYZEN YOYO² reviewed: Is the cult pram worth the hype?

The Evening Standard's journalism is supported by our readers. When you purchase through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission.

yoyo travel pram dimensions

The BABYZEN YOYO² is one of the most popular compact prams in the UK.

When the original stroller was released in 2012, it revolutionised the market. The YOYO was the first pram that could fold up and fit in an overhead locker on an airplane. Combined with its single-hand fold, lightweight frame and great overall look, it rapidly became a cult classic and has sold millions around the world.

In 2020, the brand released its latest version of the best-selling pram - the YOYO² - with some updated features including the ability to connect YOYOs together for families with multiple children.

yoyo travel pram dimensions

As is often the case with any successful product, several copy-cat prams have been released since 2012. But this cult pram still reigns supreme and outsells most. So is it worth the hype? We tested it out.

What makes the YOYO² different?

The YOYO² ’s big selling point is its fold and lightweight frame. When folded, the YOYO² is 52x44x18cm. Unfolded, it’s 106x44 x86cm. It weighs between 6.2kg and 6.6kg, depending on which version you have (more on that later). While there are other compact prams on the market, there are very few that go quite so small. This means it is ideal for families with limited space at home, or who have small cars. It is also great for those who travel a lot as it is smaller (and lighter) than most people’s hand luggage.

yoyo travel pram dimensions

It is also chameleon-like with its customisation. The stroller comes in a choice of two frames or chassis. Then the actual pram section comes in nine colours. So you can easily change the look of the pram with little effort (but a bit of cash).

From what age can the YOYO² be used?

Essentially from birth, but you do have to invest in different parts once your baby is sitting up and wants to face the world.

Like most pram systems, you start with a flat bassinet for newborns. You have two options with the YOYO² ; the 0+ newborn pack, which is more like a cozy sleeping-bag set up, or the bassinet, which does exactly what it says on the tin. The main difference is that the newborn pack folds down smaller so is better for travelling with.

Once your baby is ready to sit up and take in the world, you move on to the 6+ pack. You can stick with the same colour, or mix it up and go for something different. The 6+ pack fits on the same chassis, so you don’t need to buy a whole new pushchair.

yoyo travel pram dimensions

What are the pros of the BABYZEN YOYO²?

The aforementioned compact size and foldability combined with the cool general look. It is also really easy to push around and has nice handling for such a small pram.

It has a roomy storage basket for a lightweight pram and a good-sized storage zip-pocket behind the seat to stash small items like a wallet and phone.

It can also be adapted for non-static car seats, or ones that you can lift out of your car and attach to a pram. This is an amazing feature, especially for the newborn stage.

yoyo travel pram dimensions

What are the cons?

Anyone who has a YOYO² will tell you the same - this is not a pram for off-roading. Or, to be honest, anything other than pretty smooth terrain. It is useless on cobbles, grass and gravel. But it glides like a swan in urban settings.

Another con is that the 6+ seat doesn’t lie entirely flat unlike other compact prams on the market. This is a bit of a pain when it comes to nap time - as it means most children take a bit of time to get used to sleeping in it. While the pram does have a pull-down shade, it doesn’t come down particularly far. An additional shade or covering does help but this is obviously an additional cost.

How much does it cost?

yoyo travel pram dimensions

The BABYZEN YOYO² with 0+ newborn pack is £565. The BABYZEN YOYO² with bassinet is £615. The BABYZEN YOYO² with a 6m+ colour pack is £430. The YOYO 6m+ colour pack on its own for when you need to move up is £60.

There are also various accessories such as rain covers, cup holders and even skis from about £25.

The BABYZEN YOYO² really is an excellent pram. It is practical, easy to use and great to look at. The only major downside is the lack of the seat lying totally flat in the 6m+ pack. Yes it’s not great off road - but then you don’t buy this pram to take it on mountain walks. It’s the perfect city pram.
