Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Viewpoint Locations Map

October 8, 2018 by PowerPyx 49 Comments

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has 95 Viewpoint Locations (Fast Travel Points). This guide contains a map that shows where to find all Viewpoints.

Viewpoints can be synchronized by climbing them and pressing the interaction-button. They can then be used as fast travel points permanently. What’s special in AC Odyssey is that the game does not reveal them to you automatically nor does it tell you how many there are. The only way to reveal them is to get close enough to them (within roughly 300-500 meters / yards). Given how large the map is this can be quite the task, which is where this viewpoints map comes in handy.

Any idea where the 4 missing ones might be? 🙂 There’s unfortunately no way to keep track in-game. If you find a new location please let me know.

There’s another one you’re missing in Makedonia. The middle of the eastern-most peninsula.

October 8, 2018 at 8:03 pm

Thanks, looking into that as well!

October 8, 2018 at 8:38 pm

First of all, thank you for your card! If you unlock the two lookout points you have unlocked all viewpoints! 1. Macadonia (bottom left the larger of the three islands) and Lesbos (above the lookout point of the Poseidon) …

October 8, 2018 at 9:24 pm

Updated the map now!

Thanks to all of you guys who submitted missing locations 🙂

If you viewed the map before the update you may have to clear your browser cache to see the updated map (added 1 in Makedonia, 1 in Lesbos).

October 8, 2018 at 10:54 pm

you have 95 viewpoints on your map, count carefully

October 9, 2018 at 12:26 am

Indeed you are right! I forgot to count two on Samos. So yes we have 95 total.

' src=

October 10, 2018 at 5:16 pm

Is this all the view points in the game? : D

' src=

October 23, 2018 at 6:01 pm

are you sure the total viewpoints has 95? i count everything but apparently i got more than 95 so i’m not sure was it me or you

' src=

October 28, 2018 at 10:48 pm

I have all of the viewpoints listed on the map, but Ubisoft club says I only have 98.95% of them unlocked, could you check your Ubisoft to make sure I’m not missing anything?

' src=

October 31, 2018 at 12:51 am

I’m having the same problem too

' src=

November 3, 2018 at 1:51 am

Yep me too! But my Ubisoft account says I’ve only completed 98.9% of the main story but have completed it all so not sure what’s going on there

' src=

November 24, 2018 at 6:25 pm

There has to be a 96th because my Ubisoft club account says I have 98.95% of the sync points and I have all 95 you listed. Thanx for the map you help me find 2 I was missing.

' src=

November 28, 2018 at 5:48 am

Counting these is tough but I’m at 95 and matching the updated map and now I’m at 100%. It took a while for the Ubisoft club percentage to update after I got my last one. I checked immediately after and it was still <100% but after roaming the map aimlessly for about 45 minutes I checked again and I'm at 100%. Hope that helps.

Fellow gamers, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve counted all of my synchronisation points (not including fast travels like The Arena, or Ancient Forge) multiple times and have reach approximately 113…

March 26, 2019 at 4:08 am

I’ve documented them all if you would like me to post the list here?

March 26, 2019 at 4:33 am

Hey, I think they added some new viewpoints through DLC. This guide / map was from the day-one version without DLC. An updated list wouldn’t hurt, feel free to post it.

March 26, 2019 at 5:10 am

I haven’t actually 100% the game as I’m still haven’t finished the final chapter (and I don’t have any DLC yet), so please keep in mind I might not actually have them all, but hopefully this checklist will help. Also collecting all the sync points doesn’t unlock or reward any trophies; however revealing all the islands (yes, even tiny ones) does unlock the Hermes’s Homie trophy. Happy gaming 🙂

How to unlock fast travel in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Ancient Greece is beautiful, but sometimes you don't have time to enjoy the scenery, so here's how to unlock fast travel in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

How to pass time by waiting in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The power of night and day is at your fingertips if you learn how to pass time by waiting in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Some folks prefer to take the languid route in games, slowly ambling their way across game worlds in no hurry to reach a destination. For those of us with a bit more impetus in life, the ability to fast travel is a godsend. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey offers a massive selection of islands to sail between or ride across, meaning at times you might prefer the option to jump directly to your destination of choice. In this article we'll teach you how to Fast Travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

How to Fast Travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

© Ubisoft

You won't be able to fast travel from the start of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. In order to unlock the feature, you first need to unlock a number of synchronization points around the map. These tend to be at the top of peaks, and often you'll need to climb to reach them. If you haven't found any yet, they're marked on your map by an eagle symbol, meaning you can set a waypoint to help you reach them faster. Any that appear white on the map have yet to be unlocked, so head towards them. Whenever you reach one, climb to the top and you'll be given the option to unlock it via synchronization, turning the map icon gold. Once you've done this once, you can use it in future to fast travel between other points you've unlocked.

It's also possible to fast travel to your ship, an ability that you'll unlock after just a few hours into the game's main story. Given your ship largely acts as your base of operations, it's easily the most useful fast travel point, but it's still worth unlocking the others when you get the chance. Just remember than your ship only acts as a fast travel point when docked at a port, so make sure you're not diving off recklessly unless you plan to return shortly!

With the ability to fast travel at your disposal, you're ready to explore the full breadth of Ubisoft's Ancient Greece. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Ship Guide – How to Captain the Adrestia

Image of Larryn Bell

Seafaring is one of the primary gameplay elements in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Early in the game you will acquire a ship called the Adrestia, which you will use to sail throughout the Greek isles. Players will need to know how to command their ship and engage in naval combat in order to survive the pirate-infested waters. In this guide, we’ll explain what you need to know to properly captain the Adrestia and command her crew in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Players are granted access to their very own ship shortly after meeting Barnabas. There’s a brief tutorial to help you get used to commanding the ship and its crew, but we’ll go over the basics in case you need a refresher on how seafaring works in the game.

Sailing and Docking

There are several aspects to controlling and sailing the Adrestia in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Start by heading to the top deck to take control of the ship. Once you begin sailing, you can choose to either have the rowers maintain a steady pace so that you can thoroughly explore the open waters, or you can activate Travel Speed to boost your rate of travel and reach your destination quickly.

There is a dedicated message board near the center of the Adrestia that lists various ship-related bounties and missions that can be completed while out at sea. These objectives usually lead to a hefty reward, so remember to check your ship’s message board regularly to accept bounties and embark on new missions with your crew. You can also loot treasure straight from the water while on your ship, so keep an eye out for loot caches while on your seafaring adventure.

The Adrestia can be docked at any major harbor or port. Get close to the dock and press the prompt to have your ship dock automatically. The ship can also be called to any dock that it isn’t already docked at by interacting with the glowing ship symbol found at major ports.

Your ship also acts as a sort of mobile fast travel point, so if you’d rather warp straight to your ship from land while it’s out on the water, you can do so by opening the map and selecting your ship for fast travel.

Hiring Lieutenants

While exploring the islands, you can acquire new ship lieutenants by  recruiting hostile NPCs . This involves knocking out enemy soldiers and choosing the Recruit prompt to invite them to join your crew. Lieutenants can be hired from your list of recruits in the Ship tab of the main menu. Additional lieutenant slots can be unlocked by upgrading the ship’s hull.

Naval Combat

There are several types of vessels you’ll encounter while sailing across the Greek isles in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Merchant vessels don’t pose a threat, so attacking them will cause your bounty meter to go up. Keep this in mind if you have a mercenary after you, as this can lure them to your location, even out on the open waters.

Pirate ships, on the other hand, are always hostile and will attack you as soon as they spot you. Since naval combat is inevitable, you’ll need to know your ship’s offensive and defensive capabilities before setting sail.

Ramming & Attacking

The Adrestia has two primary offensive maneuvers available when engaged in combat with an enemy ship. You can either launch a long-range attack on an enemy ship using javelins or archers, or you can ram into the side of the enemy ship to deal a massive blow to their hull.

Ramming involves aligning your ship perpendicular to the side of the opposing ship’s hull and increasing your rowing speed to ram them with full force. This requires proper positioning and acceleration, so go for this tactic only if the ship distances and angles are in your favor.

Firing projectiles is the more reliable of the two tactics. The left controller trigger allows you to aim at your target, while the right controller trigger will launch projectiles at the opposing ship. Fire javelins and arrows can be launched using the right shoulder button as well.

Brace for Impact

There are a couple ways to mitigate the damage done to your ship while engaged in naval combat in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. One method is to brace for impact, which is done by holding the left shoulder button on a controller or the Q key on PC. This causes the crew to hunker down and raise their shields to protect themselves from an incoming enemy barrage. Keep an eye on the enemy and brace as soon as you see them preparing to launch projectiles your way.

If the enemy ship is trying to ram you instead, you’ll need to maneuver your ship to dodge the incoming blow. Dodging can be done by braking hard and turning the ship to quickly pivot out of harms way. Though it may take some practice, knowing how to dodge incoming ramming attacks will ultimately help you turn the tables on your enemies at sea.

Boarding and Cleaving

Once you have depleted the health of an enemy ship, an anchor icon will appear above it, signaling that it can be boarded. You can board an enemy ship by pulling up beside the vessel and hold down the boarding prompt.

When you jump aboard an enemy ship with your fellow lieutenants, be prepared to fight off any remaining enemy crewmembers on your way to snag the ship’s treasure chest. We recommend Sparta-kicking enemies off the edge and into the water, as this is a quick and easy way to rid the ship of hostiles without taking much damage. Successful boarding will restore part of your ship’s health.

Alternatively, you can also choose to cleave the enemy ship, which basically involves ramming it so hard that it splits in half. You’ll need to quickly ram into the side of the vessel to cleave and sink the enemy ship. This will also restore some of your ship’s health.

Ship Upgrades & Cosmetics

In the Ship tab within the main menu, you can view the Adrestia’s different upgradable features. Ship upgrades are broken down into three categories:

  • Arsenal – Improves the reload speed and attack rate of your archers and javelin men.
  • Weapon Damage – Increases the damage output of your weapons and ship.
  • Ship & Crew Endurance – Improves the overall health of your ship and crew.

Each ship upgrade costs a certain amount of money and resources, which are listed at the bottom of each upgrade.  Ship upgrades also require you to collect Ancient Tablets, which are found in ruins throughout the islands or sold from certain blacksmiths. Ship upgrades are a bit pricey, so you may have to play through the game a bit before you’re able to afford any upgrades for your ship.

Those are the basics of how to captain the Adrestia ship and engage in naval combat in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. For more gameplay tips and tutorials, head over to our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Guide .

Assassin's Creed Odyssey sailing: how to sail, upgrading the ship

Making waves

Sailing in Assassin's Creed games of the past was a joyous pastime, though that might have had something to do with the sea shanties. But there was little doubt that sailing and naval warfare would return at some point. In  Assassin's Creed Odyssey , this has you take up the helm of the Adrestia, sailing across the Mediterranean in search of treasure and adventure. However there are plenty of pirates, as well as the warring states of Athens and Sparta who can rip apart an unprepared commander at the helm. This guide will go over the ship's controls, what it can do, and explain how to upgrade the ship with resources.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey sailing guide

If you're looking for more advice on the basics of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, then head over to our  Assassin's Creed Odyssey guide for more information to get you up to speed.

How to sail in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Fairly early on in the game, you'll gain access to the Adrestia and its crew. Controlling the ship is relatively straightforward in that you can have your chosen hero call out how fast they'd like to go. If you're going at full speed, this will only last a short while before your crew needs to recover, though this is determined by how good your oarsmen are. Travelling speed can be affected by the conditions of the ocean, especially when the ocean gets choppy, as well as the wind direction.

Combat when sailing is also slightly different to that of previous games. Instead of cannons, you have archers and javelins. Pressing the left mouse button on the mouse, right trigger on an Xbox controller or R2 on a PS4 controller, you will fire a volley of javelins that have a very narrow range. Holding down the aim button (right mouse button on mouse, left trigger on Xbox controller, or L2 on PS4 controller), like you would if firing a bow and arrow in the main part of the game will make your archers fire instead.

You can also ram boats for some damage by travelling at full speed, which can easily dispatch downed ships. That said, trying to board ships that are rendered immobile is better as the rewards are greater. Also, if you're about to be attacked, don't forget to brace (Q on keyboard, LB on Xbox controller, or L1 on PS4 controller) as this does prevent a lot more damage than you'd think.

Once you've sunk a ship, your health will restore a bit. This depends on whether you boarded the disabled enemy ship and took out everyone on board (which will fully restore the ship) or rammed into the ship with your own for a smaller chunk of health restoration.

Ship upgrade screen in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Upgrading the ship in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Upgrading your ship and its crew is as simple as collecting resources from around the world. Are the arrows and javelins not doing enough damage? Upgrade your troops for more volleys of arrows or javelins, or the arrows and javelins themselves for more damage per shot. Find yourself taking too much damage? Bolster the defences of your hull with the components you obtain.

You'll need items like wood, hides, and the like, in order to upgrade parts of the ship. I highly recommend building a hearth on your ship to enable those fire attacks which deal lots of damage with adrenaline being built up just like in regular combat. There are six resources that you can obtain to upgrade your ship:

  • Soft Leather - Either dismantle obtained gear or hunt wild animals.
  • Iron Metal - Obtained by dismantling gear, mining ore deposits in caves or above ground, or loot from enemies.
  • Olive Wood - Scavenge from ships you've sunk, dismantle gear, or harvest olive trees found above ground in the open world.
  • Ancient Tablets - Obtained exclusively for free from ancient ruins and bought from certain merchants.
  • Obsidian Glass - Rarely obtained by mining ore. It's better to loot from leaders, steal from Nation Chests found in Forts, or complete War Contract/Conquest Battle side missions.
  • Precious Gems - Rarely obtained from mining ore. More reliably found by killing and loot from mercenaries or complete bounties.

How to get new crew in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

In order to flesh out your crew, you can knock out important foes (those with gold borders on their level ranking) before convincing them to join your side. Make sure your last blow is a non-lethal attack and the enemy will be knocked unconscious. Head up to them and you should see a command prompt to recruit the NPC. Do so and they'll join your crew without hesitation. You can then select them to be part of your team in the Ship menu, with one slot opened initially and further slots unlocked after upgrading the ship's hull. You can have a maximum of four personnel in your entourage.

Certain side quests also give you the opportunity to add the quest giver to the crew, provided you didn't insult them along the way. For more information on the side quests where this is possible, check out our extensive  Assassin's Creed Odyssey side quests guide. You can also hunt a few cultists on the open sea, so go to our  Assassin's Creed Odyssey cultists guide to see how to identify these nautical maniacs.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: How to Fast Travel

Image of AOTF Staff

The map in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is massive.  We don’t blame you if you would rather fast travel across the world than taking a boat, horse, or by going on foot.  There are only a couple of different ways to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and one of them is going to require that you do a little exploration of the game.

The best way to fast travel to all of the different islands in the game is by finding all the Synchronization Points.  These points function similarly to previous Assassin’s Creed games in that they feature scenic views of the surrounding area and will highlight points of interest for you to explore.  However, they also function as fast travel spots once you’ve synchronized them.

On the map, sync points will have an Eagle Icon.  Once synchronized this eagle will turn from white to green and give you the option to fast travel.  Note that you can only fast travel when you are not in combat.  Simply highlight the icon and then press the X Button (Xbox) or Square Button (PlayStation) to fast travel.

Alternatively, you can fast travel to your boat wherever it is docked by highlighting The Adrestia.  This is denoted by a golden ship icon which when hovered over will allow you to press X or Square to fast travel to where you docked it last.

How to Fast Travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Image of Jesse Vitelli

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: How to Fast Travel

Fast travel is an absolute necessity in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey after a while, thanks to the sheer scale of its enormous rendition of Ancient Greece. Here’s how to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey .

Ubisoft ‘s series offers one of the largest maps seen in the franchise. With tons of new content to explore, enemies to fight, and loot to find, this game will have you combing over every part of the map with a fine tooth comb. Odyssey takes your journey to the mystical lands of Ancient Greece. Of course, you’ll want to be able to move quickly around Greece, so you’ll need to know how to get around quickly.

You can’t just go fast traveling around the map anywhere you want in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. You’ll first need to find and unlock fast travel points .

Synchronization

As you’re exploring the world, you might notice a little eagle-shaped icon appear on your HUD. That’s indicating that a fast travel point is nearby. These tend to be in high-up places. Y’know, because you’re surveying the landscape and chillin’ with your eagle buddies.

If you’re struggling to find fast travel points to unlock, try opening up your map by pressing the touchpad on PS4, or the View button on Xbox One. You’ll now be able to scan around your nearby area a lot faster and pull out the closest fast travel point for you to unlock.

But there will definitely be an eagle icon in most towns within the game. At least one, but sometimes two or more. We’ve included an image of an unlocked fast travel point in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey below.

assassins creed odyssey fast travel, how to fast travel in assassin's creed odyssey

I recommend immediately going to the fast travel point in any new place you get to, if you’re impatient. A lot of the time, a quest will lead you pretty far and it’ll be a pain to get back.

Once you’ve climbed to the top of an eagle location you will need to synchronize with it just like in previous installments. To do this, you simply need to press Y on Xbox One, or Triangle on PS4. You’ll then get the panoramic camera pan as your eagle buddy flies around you.

When you’ve synchronized with the location you will have unlocked the ability to fast travel to it. Now you’re ready to actually fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Fast Travel Time

Now that you actually know how to synchronize, you’re finally able to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. To do so, you’re going to want to go back to your map again by pressing the View button on Xbox One or touchpad on PS4. Look out for those same eagle icons we used to track down the point in the first place.

Any of these points you’ve synchronized with will now be green on your map. Simply move your cursor over the one you want to travel to and press X on Xbox One or Square on PS4, and you’ll be taken right there.

This is also true for your ship. You can do this anytime you’re not in combat, or near a dangerous foe. This will make things significantly easier when traversing the enormous map for a second or even third time while trying to complete side quests, collectibles, or finding hidden areas, such as underwater locations .

That’s everything you need to know about how to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey . For more tips, tricks, and guides be sure to check out our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Wiki .

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Ship and Crew Guide

This guide will help you learn how the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Ship gameplay works, how to get your crew, how to upgrade different features, how Ship Battles work and, of course, all the other basics!

This article does NOT contain any story spoilers from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey!

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey expands on the ship mechanic from Origins by adding a number of improvements. The naval gameplay is a lot more involved, you can upgrade various parts of your ship, recruit your own crew, board enemy ships, loot whatever is left on the battlefield and more! Let’s start from the beginning!

How to get your Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Ship

You receive your own ship and crew right after you finish the first area (Kephallonia), which also serves as a rough tutorial for the game. As you leave for Megaris, you will also have your first naval combat experience. If you have played Origins, you will not find it very difficult to grasp the mechanics as the basics are the same here too.

You take control of your ship and leave it with the same shortcut button. It’s E by default on PC. I believe it’s Y on Xbox One controller. You can leave the command of your ship and dive to look for treasures at any given time. Barnabas (your… let’s call him assistant) will give an immediate order to the crew to stop and wait for you in that exact spot. You can also dock the ship at ports and harbors.

Here are the Basic Ship Movements Commands in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey:

  • You can press forward (W on PC) to get up to full speed for a short amount of time. This is useful for ramming enemy ships and is one of the most damaging attacks in your arsenal.
  • Pressing the backwards button (S on PC) will slow the ship. You can even move the ship backwards, but I do not recommend you do that. At least not often.
  • You can turn to the left and right by pressing the A and S on PC or the corresponding keys on your controller.
  • Hit the Travel Speed key (Space on PC – the button at the bottom left on the screen) to bring the sail down and move faster towards your next target or destination. This is usually the way to travel when you are not in combat.

One step up – combat abilities:

  • Shoot arrows at enemy ships
  • Shoot javelins at enemy ships (closer range)
  • Ram the enemy ship – press forward to gain full speed and hit the enemy vessel from the side for maximum damage
  • Shield – order your soldiers to put their shields up, protects the ship and your crew from incoming arrows from enemy vessels.
  • When the enemy ship is at low (critical) health, an anchor icon will appear on top of it letting you know you can board it (default key on PC is E). Then you and your crew can kill the soldiers, loot the chest and don’t forget to dive in and look for more chests after the battle.

Your ship is more maneuverable and faster than the enemy ships you will fight against in Assassin’s Creed Odysse’s Naval Combat gameplay. You can use that to your advantage – to avoid being rammed and ram your opponents instead. More on that later on when we get to the tactics section.

If your ship is lacking upgrades, you will often find yourself struggling in a fight against more than one enemy vessel. In situations like these it might be best to focus one of their boats, take it down, then run away from the battle to restore your health and return to finish it.

AC Odyssey Ship Menu Screen Overview

After you get your ship, the Ship menu will become available. In the featured video at the top of this guide you can see all of the components of your Ship.

At the top you see the same bar with the information about your crafting materials that you see on every other screen of the menu. Below it are the slots which you can control and upgrade.

On the left side you have the Arsenal, Weapons Damage and Ship and Crew Endurance upgrades. On the right side are the Lieutenants and Cosmetics, which I explain in a separate section of the guide. Below you can find more info on what each one of the perks on the left side does and why is it important to upgrade them:

Arsenal – in this category are the three upgrades that increase your ship’s attacks:

  • Arrow Volleys – Upgrades the Archers attack. You have level 1 unlocked by default, which allows you to shoot one arrow volley. Upgrading this will cost you crafting materials and currency, but will also allow you to shoot more arrow volleys one after another and will lower the reload time.
  • Javelin Throws – Upgrades the Javelin Throw attack. Same as the previous one, upgrading this skill allows you to shoot more Javelin Throws one after another and will decrease the reload time.
  • Fire Braziers – This is an ability you have to unlock first. It allows you to set your Arrows and Javelins on fire for more damage. Upgrading it grants you Fire Power segments and increases your Fire buildup

Weapons Damage – The following three skills improve your soldiers’ performance in naval combat:

  • Arrows – Upgrade to stronger arrows for increased damage and to create Weak Points in the enemy ships faster. Each level gives you increased performance.
  • Ram – The more upgraded your Ram is, the more damage you will deal when going at high-speed against an enemy ship. Upgrading this perk also increases the chance to create Weak Points in the enemy ships.
  • Javelins – Upgrade to stronger Javelins for increased damage and to create Weak Points faster. Each level gives you increased performance.

Ship and Crew Endurance – the next three perks increase your ship’s survivability.

  • Hull – Upgrading this perk will increase your ship’s Health and Armor as well as grant you additional slots for Lieutenants (more about them later).
  • Rower Stamina – Rower endurance can be improved to boost for a longer duration (allowing you for better maneuvering and ramming tactics) and more often. While boosting, turning the ship will result in drifting. Leveling up this perk will granr you more Rower Stamina and will increase its refill rate.
  • Crew Armor – Your crew becomes more effective at bracing (Q key on PC to make them put up their shields for protection against enemy arrows, for example). Leveling up this perk grants more damage reduction when bracing as well as less incoming fire damage from flaming arrows and javelins.

Upgrading your Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Ship

While the ships don’t earn XP and level up, they can (and must) be upgraded to be able to face the more serious challenges and opponents. Each upgrade costs money (drachmae) and crafting resources: Wood, Leather, Iron Metal, and Ancient Tablets. These same resources are also used for upgrading your character’s armor and weapons.

Upgrading the ship gets more and more expensive with each upgrade. You have to make your strategy based on your goals and affordability.

Alpha Ships are serious challenge and you cannot just face them with your Adrestia’s basic gear. There are Alpha ships available early on as well. They can be found in many different places in the world of Ancient Greece. You do not need to wait to face them when you reach the end-game, but you better be prepared. Ship Upgrades are among the most important factors after player experience and maneuverability.

What are Lieutenants for and how to recruit them

On the top right side of the Ship Menu screen you have four slots for the Special Lieutenants. At first only one slot is unlocked. When you do the first mission with your ship, you will recruit the first one – the archer Phemios. Each Lieutenant has a special skill. You can have up to four assigned. To unlock more slots, level up the Hull perk of the ship from the bottom left side of the Ship menu.

Elite Lieutenants are hard to come by and you will have to roam the open seas in the world of Ancient Greece looking for the best ones. Most are available for recruitment via side missions.

If you use your combat abilities wisely, you can knock down or stun your opponents right before you kill them. This will open up an additional dialogue with the option to recruit them. If you choose to do so, open the Ship Menu screen and check the perk that this new Lieutenant has and decide if you want to actually hire them (place them on an empty slot).

An easy and quick example of how to find and recruit Lieutenants is in the video I have embedded above this paragraph. This strong guy is available right at the shores of Megaris. All you have to do is approach and knock him out. Then go to the Ship Menu screen and recruit him.

AC Odyssey Ship and Crew Cosmetics

In the bottom right of the Ship menu screen you’ve got a few cosmetics to choose from (if you have the cosmetic items, of course :P). The three tabs here are just for appearances. They will not have an effect on your ship and crew’s performance:

  • Ship Skin – changes the appearance of your ship.
  • Figurehead – places a figurehead at the front of your ship.
  • Crew Skins – changes the appearance of your crew.

Cosmetics are available both through gameplay and from the Ubisoft’s store. You can find cosmetics in chests as well as rewards from missions. One cool example is an underwater chest in the northern side of Octopus Bay (Hermit’s Dive Place of Interest). You will also earn cosmetics through missions. One such example is (mini spoiler alert!) the reward from the Olympic games after you win the final match.

My personal Figurehead cosmetic item is the Minotaur’s head. To get it you have to kill the legendary Minotaur beast .

The Epic Ships, available through the Live Events feature will reward you with a new skin for you to try on your ship. Epic Ships are tough challenges that happen on weekly basis and can happen anywhere on the map.

Your Ship and Crew Stats

At the bottom of the Ship menu you see the primary stats for your Ship:

  • Ship Health – Total amount of damage your ship can take before it is sunk. This value is based on your current level as well as the Hull perk upgrade.
  • Arrow Damage – Average amount of damage inflicted when all arrows hit the target. This value is also based on your current level plus the Arrow upgrades and Lieutenant perks.
  • Ramming Damage – Average amount of damage inflicted by ramming at full speed. The value is based on your current level plus the Ram upgrades and Lieutenant perks.
  • Javelin Damage – Average amount of damage inflicted when all Javelins hit the targeted ship. This value is modified by your character’s level and the Javelin upgrades.
  • Ship Armor – Amount of protection from damage received. This value is modified by your current level, the Hull upgrades and the Lieutenants perks.

What are the Best Upgrades for your Ship and Crew?

I would advise you to invest crafting materials and money into the Arrows and Fire upgrades first. The Arrows are a great long-range tool that, if aimed properly, does a significant amount of damage to the enemy ships. Being able to shoot arrows and/or javelins twice in a row gives you a decent advantage over pretty much any ship in the beginning of the game (and not only).

When you are surrounded by multiple ships, and especially on higher difficulties, it may become harder to see and predict where the attacks will come from (especially for beginner players). Upgrading your Crew’s Armor for the Brace perk is very useful in situations like these.

Upgrading the Hull is a given, of course. This is the perk that allows you to assign more Lieutenants, plus it also increases your ship’s armor and health, allowing you to last longer in combat.

Be careful when upgrading your ship. As I mentioned previously in this guide, the Naval gameplay is a lot more integrated into Assassin’s Creed Odyssey than it was in Origins, but it’s still more or less a side-activity for the most part. Always leave yourself enough crafting materials and money for the character upgrades, engravings and other things.

Naval Combat Gameplay

Here is a short clip, demonstrating the naval combat gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with a low level ship and crew. The clip also features boarding the enemy ship right before sinking it.

Have any questions? Don’t hesitate to ask! Any feedback is also welcome. If you have extensive knowledge about the Naval combat and gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and want to share it with the world, leave a comment and enhance the experience of the beginner player, who has arrived to this guide to learn something new! :)

How to fast travel in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

If you don't want to walk or ride a horse, here's how to fast travel in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Bill Lavoy

About a year ago I made the decision to stop fast traveling in open-world games. I found that if I took the time to walk, I became more immersed in the world and got more out of the experience. However, after walking across the map for the hundredth time, everybody breaks and decides to take a shortcut. While the world of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is full of things to discover, I wouldn’t blame you for wanting to skip the trip and arrive at your destination immediately. Here’s how to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

How to Fast Travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

Fast travel requires that you first unlock synchronization points around the map. These are almost always high up and require you to do some climbing. They are also marked on the map as eagles, allowing you to set a way point and travel directly to them. As you find these synchronization points, climb and unlock them, then you can use that point at any time in the future to fast travel. If the eagle icon on the map is white, the fast travel point hasn’t been unlocked. Once you’ve completed the synchronization, however, the icon will be gold and fast travel will be available.

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

Players can also fast travel to their ship, which will become available a few hours into the game and after some main story progression. Your ship will be an important part of the game and something of a base once you start exploring the world, making this fast travel point the most valuable by a mile. Just be sure to dock your ship properly when not using it in order to activate it as a fast travel point.

Now that you know how to fast travel, be sure to browse and bookmark our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey walkthrough and guide . You’ll find tips and tutorials to help you become the deadliest assassin the world has ever seen.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Best Ship Upgrades

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is far from the first game in the franchise to feature naval combat in some form, but it's definitely back in force with this entry in the series. In this=guide we'll be walking you through everything you need to know about your very own boat in the game, including the ins and outs of combat on the high seas, as well as how to upgrade your ship as quickly and easily as possible.

On this page:

Best Ship Upgrades in Assassin's Creed Odyssey

All ship upgrades explained, what ship upgrade should i get first.

You won't get a ship you can upgrade from the get-go in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. You'll only be able to leave the island of Kephallonia after you've dealt with the Cyclops and rescued Barnabas, who'll act as your captain for your voyages. From here, you'll be granted the most basic ship of them all, with arrow volleys, javelins, and fire braziers as your methods of attack.

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

But everything about your ship can be upgraded and improved. Just below, we'll list all the available upgrades that you can perform for your ship in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, as well as detailing their bonuses.

  • Arrow Volleys - Upgrade this attack to increase damage output and reload time.
  • Javelin Throws - Upgrade the Javelin Throws to perform successive attacks, and decrease reload time.
  • Fire Braziers - Unlocks fire arrows and fire javelins for your ship.
  • Arrows - Upgrade basic arrows to increase damage, and increase the chance of a weak point creation on the opposing ship.
  • Ram - Increase the Ram level to boost damage, and increase weak point creation.
  • Javelins - Upgrade for stronger Javelins with higher damage, and further weak point creation.
  • Hull - Upgrade the Hull of your ship to increase ship health and armor, as well as increase the number of Lieutenants you can assign to your ship.
  • Rower Stamina - This level boosts your base Rower Stamina, while also boosting the rate at which Rower Stamina refills.
  • Crew Armor - Increasing the Crew Armor reduces bracing damage reduction, while also decreasing fire damage taken.

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

If you're cutting through Assassin's Creed Odyssey, we've got everything you'd ever need at our Walkthrough here. Whether it's combat, stealth or finding the best items, we can provide.

Keep in mind that the Ship Cosmetics category, which can be found in the bottom right corner of the screen, has no bearing on the statistics of your ship. No matter which figurehead or crew you equip, it won't change your ship's stats.

Cover image for YouTube video

As for which ship upgrade in Assassin's Creed Odyssey is best, we'd recommend prioritizing the hull first. Not only does it increase your ship's health, it'll increase the amount of lieutenants you can have active on board, adding additional bonuses and effects.

Before sailing on, why not see what other AC: Odyssey content we've got here at USG? Mike's review of the game can be found here, or check out what we have to say on the game in this episode of Axe of the Blood God.

Ship Upgrades

Soon after starting your adventure in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, you'll gain access to the ship, The Adrestia, and its captain, Barnabas.

Like in Assassin's Creed Black Flag, you'll be able to transition between exploring on land and at sea by traveling to any port and summoning the Adrestia - which lets you engage in both naval combat and traversal.

The Adrestia boasts a wide range of upgrades, both practical and cosmetic - and these either cost money or you'll have to know which underwater ruins to loot.

  • See Ship Upgrades
  • See Ship Cosmetics

Upgrades are integral to all aspects of your ship - from rowing and ramming to javeling and arrow firepower, and you'll want to upgrade all of them to remain a formidable power on the seas. You can also upgrade your ship's hull to include more recruitable Lieutenants to further bolster your ships abilities .

How to level up fast in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and gain XP quickly

Progress faster and unlock more abilities with our handy Assassin’s Creed Odyssey levelling tips

How to level up fast in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and gain XP quickly

Knowing how to level up fast in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and gain XP quickly will make life a lot easier because it's a big game, and most of its missions are leveled gated. If you aren't high enough you can't progress so often you'll be looking to boost your level just to continue the story.

The good news is that we can help with just that and coming up we'll show you how to level up fast in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and gain XP quickly. XP can be gained from a lot of things, completing missions and objectives most obviously. However, because of how stuff scales in-game - some things do, some don't - you can actually game the system and  move things along a lot faster if you know what where to place your efforts.

Check the XP rewards on all available quests to get the most bang for your buck

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

When you look at your quests in the menu you’ll notice that the XP rewards are coloured. Gold is the highest, followed by Purple and then Blue. Whenever you can, always do the best rewards that fit your level. That’s generally anything the same level as you, as Odyssey’s slightly severe levelling means that a mission even one level higher can be a challenge. It’s definitely worth a try though, as the rewards for higher levelled tasks will be a lot larger if you can pull it off. Just check what you’ll be doing before you jump into a fight with higher level things that can one shot you.

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

Fast travel might be an alluring way of speeding around the map when you’re feeling impatient but bear in mind that every time you discover anything you’ll earn some XP. It doesn’t matter if that’s a cave with a single chest in, or a major fort with several objective - it’s all worth points just for discovering it - you don’t even have to go there, just clear the question mark. If you have the time to walk everywhere and don’t mind the odd detour when something pops up on your radar you can easily rack up 1000+XP for a walk about.  The same is true for sailing which ticks up about 675XP regularly as you go, as well as any location discovery bonuses as you pass islands.

Complete all of a location's objectives, especially Forts, for loads of XP

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

Nearly all the discoverable locations you find have some key objectives, usually things like looting treasure or killing a captain. Always try to complete them when you can as there’s extra XP for doing so. The gains can be small for a cave with one chest, but if it’s a massive fort with a national treasure, several chests, prisoners to release, and multiple ranking officers to kill then you can get a fat stack of XP for rinsing it out. It’s always worth finishing anything in an area a mission might take you, and also worth veering off course if you happen to see anything fruitful in the distance.

Mop up any and all side quests on or below your level

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

There’s a lot to do in Odyssey and it’s easy to get distracted or forget about the many missions you can be racking up. You can end up with plenty of half completed or forgotten things, or stuff that drop down a few levels as you progress. You’ll literally be grinding in every sense of the word to go through them all but you’ll get a lot of XP for clearing out these old and low level quests without expending too much effort.

Check mission boards and speak to locals for extra, and quick, missions

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

There are plenty of very minor missions to be found both from the people in a given area and the Message Boards. Always check these as you can grab a bunch of quick XP for very little effort. It’s just a case of filtering out the low impact stuff nearby for the easy wins - things like clearing a bandit camp 100m away, or threatening a local merchant. There’s even one mission where you can give some money to a slave for instant XP. Easy.

Find the Ancients Steles for an extra ability point

This doesn’t exactly level you up, although you will get some XP for finding one. Instead the main benefit to finding these odd monuments is the free ability point to spend on skills it’ll net you. There are First Civilization Steles scattered all over the map in various tombs to discover. Some are in mountain caves, others in cities, but all require a little poking around to reach. There are things like hidden entrances, traps and snakes to deal with, but nothing too dangerous to worry about. Everyone you find is like a free level in terms of getting a new ability or upgrading a current one, but remember that you won’t get the health and damage boost that actually levelling up gets you. There are well over 20 in the world to discover and, if you can’t be bothered looking then there’s a map to buy in the ‘time savers’ part of the in-game store that will reveal them all on the map. That’ll set you back 300 Helix credits (realistically $4.99/£3.99 for the smallest 500 Helix pack).

Complete the Cave Crusader or Besieging Bandits quests

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

Both these quests are things you pick up early on in the game as part of your initial progress. Respectively they require you complete 20 caves or clear 10 bandit camps in and around the world. It’s the kind of mission you’ll generally tick over as you play but if you want to cash in quicker then check your map for any relevant locations to clear it and reap the XP owed. The missions are always a legendary payout and levels with you so they’ll always be worth doing.

Login/join Ubi Club to access a two hour XP booster

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

If you’re not a member of Ubi Club then you really should be. It scores you for playing any Ubi games and rewards you both with credits to buy extras and special unlocks. For instance, if you’ve played Assassin’s Creed Syndicate as a Ubi Club member you can unlock Evie Frye as a lieutenant for your ship in Odyssey. As well as weapons, skins and more there’s a two hour 25% XP boost you can buy for 10 ‘U’ coins (you generally earn 10 coins per Ubi Club objective which might be completing a part of the story, or defeating an enemy type). It’s best to make sure you’re settling for a solid session and really get some objectives cleared if you are buying it, as you don’t want to waste any of that sweet extra XP time.

Buy a permanent XP boost in the Store

assassin's creed odyssey fast travel with ship

You can buy a permanent 50% boost in the in-game store for 1000 Helix credits ($9.99/£7.99). It’s a costly way of saving time, but earning an extra 50% XP on everything you do will certainly speed up the levelling process. Just remember that areas of the game scale with you so to some extent you’ll still be fighting enemies at the same level as you, although you will have more abilities unlocked.

Nội dung theo lời tả của nhà phát triển:

This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Alexios or Kassandra, mercenaries on a quest for vengeance. As players explore an open-world environment in Ancient Greece, they interact with characters, infiltrate enemy bases and strongholds, and kill human enemies. Players use swords, spears, and bows to kill enemy soldiers and bandits in melee-style combat. Players also use stealth attacks (e.g., knife stabbing) to dispatch enemies discreetly. Large blood-splatter effects occur as enemies are killed. A handful of cutscenes depict more intense acts of violence and/or gore: characters stabbed through the head/neck with bladed weapons; young characters thrown off a cliff; a man mauled by a mob as his arm gets thrown into the air. Some environments depict severed limbs and dismembered corpses on the ground. The game contains instances of sexual material: characters kissing and caressing before the screen fades to black (sex is implied though never shown); dialogue referencing sex and prostitution (e.g., “Anything goes in this sex andron”; “That is love, this is commerce. What are you into?”); a character hearing sexual moaning sounds behind a door. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in the game.

  1. Is there a way to fast travel with your ship from port to port in odyssey?

New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. No way to fast travel with your ship, but you can call it from any dock and it'll be moved there. I was just searching around for this same question. Googled "Escort Kleio to Mykonos". Turns out there's some pretty top shelf call girls in Greece.
