If the player has not been to a Gyroid, Produce, or Glowing Moss-type island within the last 7 boat tours and none of the other island types are chosen for that day, the island visited will be of one of those four types that has not been visited. If there are multiple, the type visited the longest time ago is selected.
Certain islands exist in a different season or time of day from the game clock. This can be taken advantage of to catch out-of-season fish , insects , and sea creatures . However, these islands cannot be visited if the specific player has not personally experienced that season at least once before. Time continues to pass while on these islands, which can be observed if the player spends several hours on one.

Probability [ edit ]
The game first determines if the player will visit a normal island (78%) or a rare island (22%). If the player has received a fortune for improved belongings luck that day, this is always guaranteed to be a rare island. [1] Otherwise, the game will calculate this as follows:
- If a normal island is chosen, the game will select a normal island type from the ones that have not been visited in the longest time within the last 7 days. The counter for not visiting a particular island can increase to a maximum of 20 days.
- If a specific player has not yet personally experienced the date on their own island that the selected island currently experiences, the game will instead select a normal island. This is always guaranteed to be the vine/glowing moss island if the player has received a fortune for improved belongings luck that day.
Common factors [ edit ]
All islands contain a single buried gyroid fragment .
Flowers will always be in-season according to the date experienced on the island, but will never be the player's native or sister flowers. The bushes present on the island are always the current bushes in bloom as determined by the game's time.
Bug and fish spawns will always match the date that the island is experiencing (either fixed or real in-game time).
For normal islands, there is a 29.4% chance of one of the rocks being a money rock , and a 2% chance of all rocks being money rocks. Rare islands will always have at least one money rock present.
Types of islands [ edit ]
Normal islands [ edit ].
Normal islands all have multiple possible layouts, one of which will be chosen at random when the player visits an island type.
Gyroid islands [ edit ]
Chance: 30%
Internal ID Haniwa/RareHaniwa
These islands are encountered most frequently between all island types. This type of island is always guaranteed to be visited upon the player's first boat tour, when searching for Brewster, and whenever the player has received a bad belongings fortune from Katrina (and has not opted for purification). In this latter scenario, the buried gyroid fragment will always be replaced with clay .
There is an 8% chance that the player may encounter the same island but with precipitation (either rain or snow depending on the time of year). In addition to the usual buried gyroid fragment, there will be one fully-formed gyroid buried as well. This can be any gyroid except for a brewstoid .
- Screenshots (Gyroid islands)
- Screenshots (Rare Gyroid islands)
Produce islands [ edit ]
Chance: 22%
Internal ID Vegetable
These islands contain multiple plants of one random type of produce , with each plant containing a fixed amount of harvestable goods. The message bottle that appears on the beach always contains a random cooking recipe. If the player has not purchased Be a Chef! DIY Recipes+ however, the message bottle will instead contain furniture DIY recipes.
- Screenshots
Vine/glowing moss islands [ edit ]
Chance: 18%
Internal ID OneRoom
These islands contain vines and glowing moss . The message bottle that appears on the beach always contains a random vine or glowing moss recipe. Although the island's date is set to summer, this only affects the appearance; the fish, insects and sea creatures that spawn will be the same as the date on the player's home island. Since version 2.0.4 , sand paths will now appear around each coconut tree .
If the player has received a good belongings fortune from Katrina , the player will be sent to this island if the rare island the game rolls to has a date that the player has not experienced yet in-game.
Rare islands [ edit ]
Rare islands all have a single fixed layout for each island type.
Star Fragment [ edit ]
Chance: 3.14%
Internal ID StarPiece
This island is always set to midnight when the player arrives, with a heavy meteor shower taking place. If the player wishes upon the shooting stars, star fragments will appear on their own island's beaches the following day. The message bottle that appears on the beach always contains a random star fragment recipe . The creatures that spawn are based on the current time, not the apparent night of the island. Vines also appear on this island.
The meteor shower on this island is heavier than what the player can ever experience on their own island, with an 80% chance of a shooting star appearing on any given minute instead of the usual 50%. There is then an equal chance for 5 stars or 8 stars to appear within that single minute.
There are some stars on the beach too, but they will be mostly star fragments .
The island can only be visited if the player has played the game on June 15 in the northern hemisphere, or December 15 in the southern hemisphere.
Rocks on this island will always drop only star fragments with the following distribution:
Cherry Blossom [ edit ]
Internal ID Sakura
This island is always experiencing the spring Cherry Blossom season , with all hardwood trees taking on soft pink petals and cherry-blossom petals floating in the air that can be caught with a net . The message bottle that appears on the beach always contains a random recipe from the Cherry Blossoms Series .
The island can only be visited if the player has played the game between April 1 and 10 in the northern hemisphere, or October 1 and 10 in the southern hemisphere.
Spring Bamboo [ edit ]
Internal ID SpringBamboo
This island is always experiencing spring and contains bamboo , which can drop young spring bamboo when struck with an axe . The message bottle that appears on the beach contains a random recipe from the Bamboo Series .
The island can only be visited if the player has played the game between February 25 and May 31 in the northern hemisphere, or August 25 and November 30 in the southern hemisphere.
Summer Shell [ edit ]
Internal ID SeaShell
This island is always experiencing summer , with summer shells found washed ashore on the beaches. The message bottle that appears on the beach always contains a random recipe for an item crafted using summer shells.
The island can only be visited if the player has played the game between June 1 and August 31 in the northern hemisphere, or December 1 and February 28 in the southern hemisphere.
Mushroom [ edit ]
Internal ID Mushroom
This island is always experiencing fall and is host to various species of mushrooms . The message bottle that appears on the beach always contains a random recipe from the Mush Series . A random assortment of six mushrooms (composed of two flat mushrooms , round mushrooms , and skinny mushrooms ) can be found, as well as pine cones and acorns .
In order, each of the 15 trees will be randomly assigned an item underneath:
- Three trees will have a tree branch .
- Five trees will have a random mushroom.
- Up to five hardwood trees (or less if there are less than five hardwood trees) will have an acorn.
- Up to five cedar trees (or less if there are less than five cedar trees) will have a pine cone.
The island can only be visited if the player has played the game between November 1 and 30 in the northern hemisphere, or May 1 and 31 in the southern hemisphere.
Maple Leaf [ edit ]
Internal ID Maple
This island is always experiencing fall and has maple leaves floating in the air, which can be caught using a net . The message bottle that appears on the beach always contains a random recipe from the Tree's Bounty or Leaves Series .
The island can only be visited if the player has played the game between November 16 and 25 in the northern hemisphere, or May 16 and 25 in the southern hemisphere.
Snowflake [ edit ]
Internal ID SnowCrystal
This island is always experiencing a snow storm during winter and has snowflakes floating in the air, which can be caught using a net . The message bottle that appears on the beach contains a random recipe from the Frozen Series .
The island can only be visited if the player has played the game between December 11 and February 24 in the northern hemisphere, or June 11 and August 24 in the southern hemisphere.

How Kapp'n boat tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons work and what are the perks
What to expect from these new random islands on Kapp'n boat tours
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Kapp'n boat tours are here, and the lazy little turtle himself is ready to take you on some boat tours that can earn you some seriously good stuff. It's worth noting that you can only go on one Kapp'n boat tour a day, so make it count. Clear your pockets of anything unessential and make sure you've got plenty of time to make the most of what's on offer.
Here's everything you need to know about Animal Crossing: New Horizons Kapp'n boat tours, which have arrived as part of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0 :
How Kapp'n boat tours work and the cost
Each Kapp'n boat tour costs 1000 Nook Miles, but it comes with the caveat of only being able to take one per day.
Kapp'n can be found on his boat at the pier on your island and will take you to remote islands that are similar to those you'll visit using Dodo Airlines. However, they're a little more exciting than those, which is why Kapp'n is rationing out visits.
Once you've paid your toll though, you'll zip off on Kapp'n speedboat to a random island, and all the way he'll sing you one of his famous sea shanties. If you press A, you can clap along with them too.
Clap away by all means, but also pay attention to the weather conditions of your boat trip as it may well hint at the island you're about to visit.
If you've flown via Dodo Airlines to any islands, there are some similarities here. If you need tools, for example, Kapp'n can sell you flimsy ones for Nook Miles, and there's always a workbench on every island for emergency crafting.
What makes Kapp'n boat tour islands special?
The magic thing about Animal Crossing: New Horizons Kapp'n boat tours is that the islands you'll visit may exist in a different time of day or season to your own island. That means the possibility of collecting any of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons fish , Animal Crossing: New Horizons bugs , or Animal Crossing: New Horizons sea creatures that you may have missed. They may also feature other unusual items, like flowers not native to your own island, different bushes that you can dig up and take home, and even brand new items like climbable vines. Here are some of the things you may find via a Kapp'n boat trip:
- Money trees - Reap the financial benefits of multiple money trees each carrying 3000 bells each
- Seasonal recipes - Message in a bottle recipes can be related to the season that island exists in, such as Cherry Blossom recipes or Mushroom recipes.
- New 'Glowing Moss' recipes - Recipes linked to the new glowing moss flora that you can find on Kapp'n trips
- Food recipes
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons Gyroids and Gyroid fragments
- Star fragments - Can be found inside rocks

Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) Guides
Kapp’n boat tours & new mystery islands.
Kapp’n is a green turtle you can find offering special boat tours to islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH)! Learn where to find him, how to take a boat tour, and the islands you can visit in this guide.
Newly introduced in the massive Version 2.0 Update released on November 3rd , you’ll need to have your copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons fully updated to experience Kapp’n and his boat tours.
What Are Kapp’n Boat Tours In Animal Crossing?
Kapp’n Boat Tours offer a new way to discover unique and mysterious islands from faraway in Animal Crossing: New Horizons — different from the mystery islands that Dodo Airline have been able to take you to since launch!
These brand new mysterious islands will often offer new special items that can’t be found on your own home island, like new types of flora such as vines and bushes. We suspect there might even be new types of fruits too, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Additionally, Kapp’n can take you to islands that of a different season or weather than your home island. For example, when your date is set to July in the Northern Hemisphere, you might visit an island that’s in Winter allowing you to catch different fish or bugs!
In fact, these out-of-season islands can even feature special seasonal materials like Snowflakes , or items from a different time of day like wishing for Star Fragments.
How To Take Kapp’n Boat Tours & Visit Islands
You can take a boat tour with Kapp’n in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by visiting your island’s Pier in the bottom left or bottom right of the map, depending on the layout.
Simply walk up to Kapp’n on the Pier and he’ll ask for you for a small fee of 1,000 Nook Miles currency per round-trip to a mysterious island! You don’t need to purchase Nook Miles Tickets for Kapp’n.
Note that you can unfortunately only set sail with Kapp’n for a mystery island once per in-game day . Of course, impatient players can time travel to get ahead if they desire.
Kapp’n Island Materials
While exploring the Mystery Islands that Kapp’n takes you to in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you may discover some new materials and plants you haven’t seen anywhere else! That’s because some very exciting new items have been introduced on Kapp’n Boat Tour Islands.
An extremely useful new type of item, Vines can be found on Kapp’n Islands and can be placed on your island’s cliffs to climb up them — essentially as a makeshift ladder that looks much cooler!
Additionally, there are many new DIY Recipes in Version 2.0 that require Vines as a crafting material to create items — check out every new recipe here .
Glowing Moss
Perfect for night-time decoration, Glowing Moss is a new type of plant that can be found onĀ Kapp’n Islands somewhat similar to weeds and flowers. Unlike other plants though, the Glowing Moss features a subtle glow during the evening making for a great night-time effect!
Just like with Vines, there new DIY Recipes in Version 2.0 that require Glowing Moss as a crafting material to create items — check out every new recipe here .
Plumeria Bushes
A new type of bush called Plumeria can be found on Kapp’n Islands in two different Pink and White color options! In the Northern Hemisphere, they bloom in season from June 1st to September 20th. Learn more about Bushes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons here.
Kapp’n Boat Tour Islands
There are many different mysterious islands you can visit by taking a Kapp’n Boat Tour in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 2.0! We’re beginning to research all of them and will list them below as we do.
While the exact contents of each island can vary, we’ve generally found that a Gyroid Fragment is buried in the ground every time.
Vine & Glowing Moss Island
On this special island seen during the Animal Crossing Direct, many brand new materials can be collected including Vines, Glowing Moss, and Plumeria Bushes.
Bell Trees Island
On this unique island, you can find multiple Money Trees containing bags of 1,000 Bells each on them. Simply shake the trees to get your free Bells!
Vegetable Farm Islands
There are multiple different islands that can be discovered with abandoned farms on them. As part of these farms, you can find all of the of the new vegetable crops in Version 2.0 including Carrots, Wheat, Sugarcane, Tomatoes, Potatoes, and Pumpkins.
Star Fragment Island
On this dazzling island, beautiful shooting stars will race across the sky! Star Fragments can be found all over the land including on the beach and even inside of Rocks if you smash them with a shovel. Be sure to check the beach for an appropriate DIY Crafting recipe in a message bottle too!
Seasonal Islands
There are multiple different islands covering each major season in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! On these islands, you can find both the exclusive seasonal materials and crafting recipes of seasons including Spring Cherry Blossoms, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and more.

How to go on boat tours - Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Take a boat tour with Kapp'n in Animal Crossing: New Horizons so you can find some new resources.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons now lets players go on boat tours. These tours, captained by a new critter called Kapp’n, are similar to the Dodo Airline experience. They allow you to visit new islands where you can find resources, bugs, fish, and even ingredients and other valuable items. For players that are wondering how to go on a boat tour, we’ve got you covered.
Go on a boat tour
Going on a boat tour in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a relaxing and useful experience. Before you can set off with Kapp’n for a faraway island, you must first ensure Animal Crossing: New Horizons is updated to at least Version 2.0.0. Once your console is up to date, you should log in and enter your island.
You can find Kapp’n in his little boat by your pier. Note that this is not the dock you use to get to Dodo Airlines – your pier will be on your island somewhere else. If you’re having trouble locating it, press ZL to open your NookPhone and then open your map app. Look for the tiny brown line – that’s your pier.
Go down to your pier and then speak with Kapp’n who should be sitting in his boat. It costs 1,000 Nook Miles to travel to a random, uncharted island, so make sure you’re continually getting more Nook Miles so you can visit as many as you want.
The bout tours that Kapp’n can take you on are a great way to discover new ingredients, which are needed in cooking and making meals . The boat tour is also how you will find Brewster so you can unlock the Roost .
Going on boat tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a great way to gather more resources. It might be a bit more expensive than a Dodo Airlines flight, but it’s a quicker process (plus, you get to hear Kapp’n sing). Stop by our Animal Crossing: New Horizons Guide for a wealth of helpful information.

Animal Crossing Kapp'n's Boat Tours: Where to find Kapp'n's Boat Tours, cost and island explained
Do you think he'll sing Sea Shanty 2?
Kapp'n has finally arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons !
Staying true to his seafaring roots, he'll offer you a spot on one of his Kapp'n's Boat Tours - sea shanty included. For a small Nook Mile cost , of course!
Every Kapp'n Boat Tour will bring you to an island hidden out in the sea where you might find something which doesn't grow on your island, among other surprises.
On this page:
Kapp'n's Boat Tours location and cost in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
Islands visited in kapp'n's boat tours in animal crossing: new horizons explained.
If you want to take a boat tour with Kapp'n in New Horizons, then you need to visit the little pier which sits against either your island's western or eastern shore.
It's important to remember that this is not the pier connected to Dodo Airlines and, instead, is where you'll catch fish like Blue Marlins or Tuna .
Every trip with Kapp'n will cost you 1,000 Nook Miles , but he will sing you a sea shanty so it's worth the expense. Kapp'n will only let you sail with him once per day though, so make sure you make the most of your trip.
Before you sail off into the sunset, however, we recommend ensuring you only have your tools in your inventory. This is because you might find some rare items on the island Kapp'n takes you to and it would be a shame to miss out on them due to having full pockets.
Once you're on the boat, sit back and enjoy Kapp'n's singing and, if you feel like it, press A to clap along.
Remember - you can only access Kapp'n's Boat Tours, you must first download the Ver.2.0 patch for New Horizons.
The Animal Crossing 2.0 update and Happy Home Paradise is here! We can help you with the new additions - including where to find Brewster , Gyroids , new villagers , ordinances , new fences , storage shed , new hairstyles , Froggy Chair , group stretching and Kapp'n boat tours . Cooking is now unlockable, so you need to know how to make both flour and sugar , as well as how to grow carrots, potatoes and tomatoes . Meanwhile, if you're new to Animal Crossing, our New Horizons tips can help with the basics. From the off, there's fish and bugs to catch , flowers and fruit to grow with. One long term goal is building your Happy Home Academy score . Finally, you need tools such as the new ladder and vaulting pole to fully explore.
The islands Kapp'n takes you to in New Horizons are randomly selected, which means you'll never know exactly where you'll end up. The weather may change as your sailing though - it may, for example, start raining or you'll see cherry blossoms in the air - to give you a small hint at what you might find on the island.
Both the season and time of day may also be different to that of your main island - you may arrive on an island trapped in a midnight snowstorm or one in the throes of midday summer. Either way, this is the perfect opportunity to search for any bugs , fish or seasonal items, like snowflakes , which you might be needing.
The island Kapp'n moors on might also have a selection of flora, such as climbable vines, which aren't native to your island. You might even find some flowers you can't currently grow on your island. It's a good idea to take some of these plants when you see them, so you can take them home!
On the beach you might find a bottle containing either a DIY recipe or, if you've unlocked cooking, a Cooking recipe. If the island you're visiting is experiencing seasonal weather, such as cherry blossoms , the DIY recipe you find might be for one of the seasonal items, which is great if you've missed one.
These islands are also where you'll find Gyroid Fragments and maybe even a fully grown Gyroid, so, if you see a diggable spot, make sure you dig it up! You might even encounter Brewster Gyroid hunting on one of these islands.
When you're on the island Kapp'n will act just like Wilbur when you're doing a mystery tour - he will offer to sell you tools if you need them and, when you're ready, take you back to your island. There will also be a DIY workbench on every island, so you craft your own tools if you prefer.
Finally, travelling with Kapp'n will unlock a new card in your Nook Miles + app - Set Sail for Adventure. This will record how many times you've sailed with Kapp'n and reward you with additional Nook Miles when you've visited a certain number of islands.
Have fun exploring the ocean with Kapp'n!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons — Kapp'n & Boat Tours guide
Who is Kapp'n?
- Kapp'n in New Horizons
It's time for Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans to get excited. Nintendo announced during the September 2021 Nintendo Direct that changes were on the way and then teased the arrival of two long-awaited NPCs: Brewster and Kapp'n. Well, the wait is over! These two fan-favorites are here in the last major free update .
So, hop on board as we explore who Kapp'n is and what impact he could have on New Horizons.
Those familiar with the series will instantly recognize this green sea turtle. Kapp'n has a distinctive character design, from his crinkly mouth to the bald spot on his head. Sporting a green shell and a heavy accent akin to pirates or an ol' salt of the sea sailor, he is an equal mix of creepy and codger. Oh, and don't forget about all the sea shanties he sings!
Fun fact: Kapp'n is loosely based on a Japanese mythological creature called the Kappa. Kappas are mischievous, reptilian river demons known for taking children unless you gift them with cucumbers. While he may not be as nefarious as his namesake, he does love cucumbers. He also takes on the role of a ferryman of sorts, transporting players in several Animal Crossing titles. He drives taxies, rowboats, buses, and more, and usually sings as the new scenes load.
His costume changes depending on which game you're playing, but he's been seen in a bus driver uniform and a more relaxed flower-print button-down. And he has his own amiibo, though it's not super rare .
Kapp'n has worn many hats over his Animal Crossing tenure, but he mostly does the same thing. He transports the player between loading screens and gets them where they need to go. He'll sing, make inappropriate comments, and get you there safely.
Kapp'n in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
With the new update, Kapp'n is back doing what he loves best: Boat Tours! Players can find Kapp'n chilling in his boat right on the pier. Any time you want to head out on the open sea, Kapp'n will take you to mysterious islands, much like the Dodo Airlines Mystery Tours. Planes can't access these new islands, so the only way to go is by boat.

For a small fee of 1,000 Nook Miles, not Bells, Kapp'n will take you to a random island where you can find rare plants, dig up gyroids, and explore uncharted territories. And Kapp'n will sing all the way! Oh, and you can clap along if you'd like.
Also, you'll need to head out on an island tour if you plan to find Brewster . These island tours are much like the Mystery Island Tours. You pay Kapp'n his fee, and he'll whisk you off to an island. It should be noted that this is the only way to find gyroids. While on a tour, you can dig up gyroid fragments, which you can then bring back and plant on your island. After enough nurturing, they will grow!
Aside from finding new foliage and gyroids, players can experience different seasons, weather, and even times of day. So, each island will have a bit of variety, so it's not the same old island with a chance of bamboo. If you're a gyroid collector, it's definitely worth the 1000 miles!
All aboard!
The wait is over! So, you and Kapp'n can take to the seas once more! However, this is the last big free update from Nintendo. The last big update will be paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise DLC , so unless there are a few small tweaks, this is it for New Horizons. Still, now that he's here, it's time to see what the big 'ol blue has to offer. Happy sailing!
A cute and fun amiibo, the Kapp'n is always ready to take you where you need to go.

Kappānās boat tours ā a new addition to Animal Crossing : New Horizons via the major, free 2.0 update ā brings players to randomized islands filled with stuff to collect. These arenāt regular islands, like the ones visited during Mystery Island Tours. No, these have unique characteristics that grant rare items, like out-of-season items (snowflakes in the summer, for instance) or wild-growing sugarcane .
One of the mystery islands appears to be a star fragment island, where shooting stars are abundant ā and rocks produce star fragments, a la clay and iron ore . Given how time consuming it can be to collect star fragments, by incessantly watching the nightās sky, the abundance of star fragment rocks is an exciting and surprising find; theyāre abundant on islands at night with shooting stars.
So make sure youāre leaving no stone unturned when visiting these islands. Thereās so much more to collect!

Each of these islands will likely have a DIY in a bottle on the beach, so make sure to go searching for that, too. On shooting star islands, those DIYs appear to be ones you would otherwise grab from Celeste. On the beach, you should find more star fragments, too.
Depending on the island, thereās other stuff to collect, too. Rare flowers and bushes, but also flora and fauna not seen elsewhere in the world ā like climbing vines and different sorts of weeds. There are new DIY recipes on some of these islands, too, themed around the unique glowing moss thatās scattered around ... everything from dresses to ponds.

How to go on a boat tour with kapp'n in animal crossing new horizons.
Take to the seas with the arrival of Kapp'n!
There have been certain characters that fans have been waiting to see added to Animal Crossing New Horizons and one of those was definitely Kapp'n, who has now been added as part of update 2.0 and will offer to take you on a boat tour.
Kapp'n has been around in the series since the very beginning and has always been the one to ferry you or transport you around.
He is back in exactly that capacity once again in Animal Crossing New Horizons by taking you to new islands via a special boat tour.
- MORE : Find out how to cook starting in ACNH update 2.0.
How To Go On A Boat Tour In Animal Crossing New Horizons
The addition of Kapp'n in Animal Crossing New Horizons means you can go on a boat your to check out other islands that you'd never get to visit otherwise in the game.
To go about going on a boat tour, you need to find Kapp'n on your island, who will be posted right on the dock at your pier on the island.
Once you find him, speak with him and he will offer to take you on a boat tour for the cost of 1,000 Nook Miles. Take him up on this and he'll sing to you as you go and bring you to a different island.
Scour the island to find all you can here and then speak with Kapp'n to return back to yours with all the treasures or junk you may have found.
How Often Can You Go On One?
When it comes to the boat tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you are limited in how often you can go on one. In fact, it's very limited.
With the arrival of Kapp'n into the game, you can only get him to take you on one boat tour to another island per day. This means you need to take full advantage of each island he takes you to, as you only get the one.
In addition, also make sure to appreciate the sea shanty that he will serenade you with coming and going, as you only get one of each per day.
As for when you are able to go on another one, you will have to wait for the day to turnover to get on another boat tour in Animal Crossing New Horizons. This can be done all throughout the night too, so don't feel like it can only be done during the day.

Where to Find Kappānās Boat Tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Update 2.0 has added a wealth of new content to Animal Crossing: New Horizons , including Kapp’n’s Boat Tours. That’s right, you no longer have to rely solely on Dodo Airlines to explore other islands!
Confused on where to find Kapp’n’s Boat Tours, how to take a boat tour, or why you should? Read on for everything you need to know about Kapp’n’s Boat Tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
Where to Find Kapp’n’s Boat Tours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Kapp’n’s Boat Tours are a new feature that lets you explore other islands for resources. Notably, you can find buried Gyroid Fragments on the islands you visit through Kapp’n’s Boat Tours!
To start, Kapp’n’s Boat Tours can be found on your island’s previously unoccupied pier. You might’ve dived from this pier during the summer to search for sea creatures. If you’re having a hard time finding it, you can actually spot this pier from your island’s map (as seen in the image below).
Once you find your pier, you’ll find Kapp’n chilling in his boat. Approach him and talk to him to learn about Kapp’n’s Boat Tours. After that, talk to him again and give him 1,000 Nook Miles to go on a boat tour.
Every boat tour will cost you 1,000 Nook Miles, so be sure to get your money’s worth while you’re exploring the random island Kapp’n takes you to! As for why you’d want to spend 1,000 Nook Miles on this, Kapp’n’s Boat Tours are essential when it comes to getting Brewster to your island.
After talking to Blathers about Brewster, your next step is taking one of Kapp’n’s Boat Tours. In our previous guide on how to get Brewster , we explain:
“Once you’re on the island look around and you’ll find Brewster, an owl in a safari cap, and a killer mustache. Talk to Brewster who will then give you a Gyroid Fragment and teach you how to plant and water Gyroids.”
So, as you can see, Kapp’n’s Boat Tours are essential when it comes to unlocking Brewster, and for getting Gyroids in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
To recap, Kapp’n’s Boat Tours can be accessed from your island’s pier. It costs 1,000 Nook Miles to take one of Kapp’n’s Boat Tours. On the islands Kapp’n takes you to, you can find Brewster and Gyroid Fragments (among other things) in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
We hope this guide has helped!

In the winter? You have no choice.
Radisson boats are the best, yes.
And only radissons operate in winter (because only they can break the ice on the river).

The narrowest part of the river is the Kremlin area in the city center, and the most extensive is around the Luzhniki Stadium in the south.
Bridges in Moscow
Undoubtedly, bridges and embankments are among the most scenic spots and main attractions of Moscow. Plus, they are so romantic.
- Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge – Great Stone Bridge – is the main bridge of Moscow . The first stone bridge was constructed here in the 17th century.
- Patriarshy Bridge is one of the youngest pedestrian bridges, built in 2004. The bridge connects the iconic Christ the Saviour Cathedral with funky Bersenevskaya embankment, extremely popular place among locals for its trendy art galleries, cafes and panoramic views. Patriarshy Bridge used to be a shooting location for ex-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's New Year speech to the nation.
- Borodinsky Bridge, erected in honor of the 100th anniversary of the glorious victory in the Battle of Borodino (which every Russian kid knows about), a fierce legendary battle during the Russo-French war of 1812.
- Bagration Bridge one of the pedestrian bridges with most picturesque views of the Moskva River with its numerous upper-level observation platforms. The bridge was erected to celebrate the 850th anniversary of Moscow city in 1997.
- Krymsky Bridge used to be in Top 5 Europe’s longest bridges some 100 years ago. The bridge got its name after the ancient Krymsky ford which Crimean Tartars used to invade Moscow in the 16 th century.
Embankments of Moscow
Moscow river boats 37 embankments, the most popular being Kremlevskaya, Sofiyskaya, Pushkinskaya, Vorobyovskaya and Kolomenskaya.
You can get the most spectacular views of the Kremlin from Kremlevskaya and Sofiyskaya embankments.
- Pushkinkaya embankment is the most romantic in Moscow. It meanders along Gorky Park and Neskuchnyi garden and is rich for all kinds of entertainment as well as cozy nooks, including Olivkovy beach, the famous Zeleny theater as well as a pier for river cruisers.
- Vorobyevskaya embankment is part of Sparrow Hills nature reserve. This place opens a beautiful panorama of the river and city from the observation deck and is considered to be the place for taking serious decisions in life.
- Embankment in Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve has a special charm due to its peculiar geographical relief. The boat trip around Kolomenskoye would be the most peaceful in your life.
- Taras Shevchenko embankment is popular among photographers for its modern Moscow City skyscrapers. Highly recommended for your night boat trip.
- Embankments of Moscow are the pride of the capital. A distinctive feature of each of the promenades is its architecture and beautiful views. In addition, almost all the embankments of Moscow have a rich history and a lot of notable buildings.
Different epochs
Taking a walk along the Moskva River by boat, you will witness the architecture of Moscow from different eras and styles. Archaeological studies indicate that already in the XI century there stood a fortified settlement on Borovitsky hill, which is now called the Kremlin. Little fortress could not accommodate all the residents of the rapidly growing city, and the Grand Duke ordered the construction of a new Kremlin, larger than the former.
Boat trip around Kolomenskoe Park
Moscow river boat trip starts from the pier Klenovy (Maple) Boulevard and provides reat views of Nicholas Perervinsky monastery.
Nicholas Perervinsky monastery was founded at the time of the Battle of Kulikov (1380). The monastery, got its name from the surrounding area – “Pererva”, which can be translated like “tear off” and because of the location – here it abruptly changed its course, turning to Kolomna, standing on the opposite bank.
Nowadays Kolomenskoye is State Art, Historical, Architectural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve, which doors are open to everyone who wants to get in touch with the ancient history of Russia.
Take a break from the big city hustle in the shady parks and gardens of the Kolomenskoe Museum-Reserve. Don’t miss a wonderful Church of the Ascension and Tsar Alexey’s Palace in Kolomenskoye!
Monasteries and temples
- Novospassky Monastery
- Founded in the 13th century on the site where now is located the Danilovsky monastery. After a few decades, in 1330, Ivan Kalita moved the monastery onto the Borovitskii hill of the Kremlin. However, in the 15th century, Spassky Monastery again moved, this time to a more spacious place on Krasnoholmskaya waterfront.
- Church of St. Nicholas in Zayaitskom
- Erected in the middle of the XVIII century in baroque style. The building survived after the 1812 fire, but the utensils were destoyed. Parishioners collected donations and restored the temple on their own. In Soviet times, it was closed and re-opened only in 1992.
- Cathedral of Christ the Savior
- The church was originally erected in honor of the victory over Napoleon and was being under construction for long 44 years. Notoriously demolished in 1937 to be a giant swimming pool under open sky. The current building was constructed in 1990s. It is the tallest and one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world.
- The temple was built in 1679-82, during the reign of Tsar Fedor Alekseevich, in late Muscovite Baroque style and can be characterized as bonfire temple. Each gable is a symbol of a heavenly fire.
- Novodevichy Convent
- The most famous concent and monastery in Moscow, presumably founded in 1524. Novodevichy’s status has always been high among other monasteries, it was in this monastery where the women of the royal blood, the wives of Tsars and local rulers of Moscow were kept in prison as nuns.
- St. Andrew’s church (male acts as Compound Patriarch of Moscow)
- St. Andrew’s church stands right on the slopes of the Sparrow Hills, on the way down to the Moskva River, on the territory of the Nature Reserve “Sparrow Hills”. The monastery is small in size but is very cozy. It’s situated in a quiet courtyard surrounded by temples, fruit trees and flowers.
