Do you love going to the comedy shows when you’re on a cruise? I know it’s one of my favorite things to do on a ship. But until cruising starts up again, we’ll have to make do with telling some cruise jokes.

I’ve collected the funniest cruise jokes at sea, so you can crack up your friends and family with some cruise humor. Dad joke alert: some of these are pretty corny! But they’re all clean cruise jokes, and safe for the entire family. Enjoy!

Bankers aweigh

Two bankers were the only survivors when their cruise ship sank. They were both clinging to a single life preserver. One banker, knowing that his colleague couldn’t swim, says, “I think I can make it to shore to get help. Can you float alone?”

The other banker replies, “How can you talk business at a time like this?”

The booze cruise

A cruise ship is headed back from the Caribbean on its last night at sea. Just before dinner time, the captain gets on the loudspeaker.

“This is your captain speaking. I regret to inform you that there was an error with our provisioning. While there are 2000 passengers on board, we only have enough food for 1000 dinners. However, we do have plenty of alcohol, so anyone who is willing to give up their meal will receive free drinks for the rest of the night.”

A few hours later, the captain gets on the loudspeaker again.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize but it appears we’ve run out of booze. On the upside, we still have a thousand delicious meals for you to enjoy!”

A cruise ship passenger is standing on the deck, looking out at the ocean. As the ship passes a small island, he spots a figure on the beach. He can see it’s a very thin man with wild hair, dressed in rags. He watches him wave his arms, jump up and down, and run back and forth along the beach.

The passenger turns to the Captain, who is standing nearby:

“Captain, what’s up with that guy?”

The Captain just shrugs.

“No clue. He’s always this happy when we sail by.”

The sunbathers

Two elderly gentlemen are relaxing in the sun on a cruise ship. One turns to the other and asks, “Have you read Marx?”

“Oh, yes.” the other replies, “I believe it’s from sitting on these deck chairs”.

A magician worked on a cruise ship. There was a new set of passengers each week, so the magician performed the same tricks over and over again. The captain’s pet parrot came to all the magic shows and began to understand how each of the magic tricks worked.

Once the parrot understood, he began to shout during the show, “Look, he’s hiding the rabbit under the table!” or “Hey, why are all the cards the ace of spades?”

Every week, the parrot ruined the show. The magician was exasperated but couldn’t do anything. After all, it was the captain’s parrot.

One night, the ship hit an iceberg and sank. The magician found himself stranded on the iceberg…along with the parrot. They stared at each other with hatred, but neither uttered a word. This went on for days. Finally on the fourth day, the parrot couldn’t hold back any longer. “OK, I give up.” he said, “What did you do with the ship?”

A moment later, the Captain’s voice came on the loudspeaker. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is an announcement to the passenger who lost the Rolex Pearlmaster on the beach……The time is now 6:54 PM.”

Spring Break

A bunch of fraternity brothers go on a cruise for Spring Break. Halfway through their vacation the ship wrecks, and the young men escape on a lifeboat. They floated on the ocean for a couple of days, but no one came to rescue them. On the third day, one of the men noticed a bottle floating near the lifeboat.

“Whoa, what if there’s a genie in that bottle?” he asked. He reached into the water, picked up the bottle, and rubbed it.

With a loud whoosh, a huge genie appeared. “I am a powerful genie, but I can only grant one wish,” the genie shouted.

“That’s a no-brainer!” the frat boy said, “I wish the entire ocean was made of beer!”

The genie granted the wish, and promptly vanished.

“Dude!” groaned one of the other brothers. “Now we have to pee in the boat!”

Rethinking sinking

A very nervous first-time cruiser approached the Captain. “Do ships like this sink very often?” he asked.

Replied the captain, “No, not too often. Usually, it’s only once.”

Shipped out

A married man walks into his local pub, where all of his bachelor friends are gathered at the bar. “Hey, Dave!” shouts one of his buddies. “How’d you talk your wife into letting you come out with us?”

“Oh, I’m on my own for the week. She took the kids on a Caribbean cruise.”

“No, she wanted to.”

3. Castaway

A cruise ship passenger is looking out to sea when he sees a small island. On the island, he spots a thin, suntanned man, with wild hair. He can see the man jumping up and down and waving.

The passenger turns around and sees the Captain, so he draws his attention to the man.

“Captain, what’s up with that guy?”

The Captain shrugs his shoulders.

4. Two Oceans

Q: What did one ocean say to the other ocean?

5. The Nervous Cruiser

A very nervous first-time cruiser met the captain at the welcome reception.

“Do ships like this sink very often?” he asked.

“No,” said the captain. “Usually it’s just the once.”

6. Sunbathing and Reading

Two cruise passengers are lounging on sun beds, reading books. One notices that the other is reading a Che Guervara book.

The other passenger turns to him and asks

“Have you read Marx?”

“Yes”, he replied. “I think it’s from sitting on these deck chairs so long.”

7. The Booze Cruise

On the last night of the cruise, it’s discovered that there’s been a miscalculation with the food. Just before dinner, the captain announces over the loudspeaker…

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. I’m sorry to inform you that there are 2,000 passengers on board, but only enough food for 1,000 people. However, we do have plenty of drinks, so anyone who is willing to give up their meal will receive free drinks for the rest of the cruise.”

A few hours later, the captain makes another announcement…

“I apologise, but it appears that we have run out of alcohol. However, if anyone is hungry, we do still have 1,000 meals available.”

8. The Magician and the Parrot

A magician worked on a cruise ship, performing the same tricks each week for new passengers.

The captain’s pet parrot came to all the shows and figured out how the tricks worked. He began to shout out during the shows. “It’s up his sleeve”, and suchlike, spoiling the illusions.

The magician was annoyed but couldn’t do anything as the parrot belonged to the captain.

One night, the ship sank. The magician found himself stranded on a desert island, along with the parrot. They stared at each other with hatred for days, neither uttering a word.

Finally, after three days, the parrot couldn’t hold back any longer.

“Okay, I give up”, he said. “What did you do with the ship?”

9. The Cabin Steward

My cabin steward is amazing! I went to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and my bed has been made!

10. Scotch and Water

A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and asks for a Scotch with two drops of water.

She says: “I’m on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it’s today!”

“Congratulations!” says the bartender. “This one’s on me.”

As she finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, “I’d like to buy you a drink too”

“Thank you, ” says the lady. “I’ll have another Scotch with two drops of water”.

An old lady was standing on the top deck of a cruise ship, holding tightly on to her hat so that it wouldn’t blow off in the wind.

A gentleman approached her and said: “Excuse me. I don’t mean to be rude, but your dress is blowing up in the wind!”

“Yes, I know,” said the lady, “I need both hands to hold onto my hat.”

A couple boarded a cruise ship and went up to their cabin. Later, they called guest services and asked for someone to help them get out of their room.

“What seems to be the problem, ” asked the man on the desk.

“We only have two doors,” said the lady in the cabin. “One is the bathroom and the other says ‘do not disturb.”

17. The Two Priests

Two priests take a cruise. They don’t want to stand out, so they decide to buy casual clothes. They’ve just hit the lido deck in t-shirts, shorts and sandals when they spot an attractive woman in a tiny bikini walking their way. As she walks past them, she politely says, “Good afternoon, fathers.”

The men are amazed, because they can’t understand how the woman knew they were priests.

They decide to go to the on-board shops and buy even more casual clothes. They buy Hawaiian shirts, surfer shorts and dark sunglasses.

The next day, they hit the lido deck again in their wild new clothes and the same woman passes them in a string bikini. As she passes, she says, “How do you do, fathers?”

Well, the two priests are really confused, so one of them asks the woman, “Excuse me, we’re not ashamed of being priests, but how in the world did you know who we were?”

The woman replies, “Why, father, don’t you recognise me? I’m Sister Catherine from the convent!”

Stock Market Crash Alert: 3 Must-Buy Cruise Stocks When Prices Plunge

Fundamental alignment could drag cruise stocks out of trouble once a broad-based stock market decline ends

The Defiance Hotel, Airline, and Cruise ETF (NYSEARCA: CRUZ ) is up by approximately 25% year-over-year , illustrating the robust growth embedded in cruise stocks . However, what goes up must come down, which is why I believe a minor correction in cruise stocks is due. Moreover, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has slipped by more than 3% month-to-date , suggesting a broad-based stock market correction is in motion, which adds systematic headwinds to cruise stocks.

Although a slight retreat is probable, I’m a lifelong optimist. As such, a drawdown will open up numerous value gaps in the cruise stock arena. Additionally, the northern summer is approaching, which phases fundamental tailwinds into the equation.

Considering the aforementioned, here are three cruise stocks that could present excellent “buy-the-dip” opportunities.

Carnival Corporation (CCL)

Carnival  (NYSE: CCL ) endured a torrid time during the COVID-19 lockdowns. I recall some of the company’s corporate debt offerings yielding between  14% and 16% , which was scary at the time as it reflected sectoral liquidity issues. However, re-openings paired with solid managerial execution dragged  Carnival’s income statement  back into respectable territory, leading to a year-over-year stock price surge of more than 70% .

Despite having reached greener fields, Carnival’s stock has slipped by more than 10% in the past month. This communicates the risks mentioned in the introduction and conveys a technical retreat.

How can I be sure that CCL stock’s slump is technical? Well, Carnival’s fundamentals remain robust. For example, the company recently surpassed its first-quarter earnings estimates by tabling a $10 million revenue beat and an earnings-per-share ( EPS ) beat of four cents. Moreover, Carnival recorded  $7 billion  in customer deposits in the quarter, surpassing its previous first-quarter record by 5.38x. Therefore, a technical correction is the most likely reason for CCL stock’s recent slump.

The stock’s technical retreat leaves intrinsic value on the table. Carnival’s forward price-to-sales ratio of 0.78x  conveys scalability and absolute value. Additionally, Carnival’s forward price-to-earnings ratio of 16.36x shows significant improvement over its 12-month trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 47.33x.

As the introduction mentions, a broad-based stock market retreat is likely in motion, adding headwinds to CCL stock. However, this looks like a tremendous buy-the-dip opportunity!

Lindblad Expeditions (LIND)

A key attraction of Lindblad (NASDAQ: LIND ) expeditions is its breadth of services. The firm offers charters accommodating between 15 and 150 guests via its fleet of 15 ships. This provides Lindblad with lucrative revenue diversification and price discrimination abilities.

Lindblad stock has shed about 35% of its value since the turn of the year, communicating fundamental headwinds. Much of Lindblad’s demise is due to a recently announced $300 million shelf offering. In addition, Lindblad’s fourth-quarter earnings report revealed an earnings-per-share miss of 25 cents , dragging its stock down even further.

You might be asking why on earth I’d be bullish about LIND stock’s prospects.

I’m positive about Lindblad’s stock because I focus on trajectories instead of isolated results. For example, despite delivering below-par estimate-relative results, Lindblad’s full-year revenue settled at $569.5 million, surging by 35% year over year . Moreover, Lindblad’s segment available guest nights increased by 33%, while its net yield per available guest increased by 12%.

The abovementioned figures illustrate telling momentum. In fact, I’m willing to bet that they’ll proliferate when the northern summer is in full swing.

Lastly, consider that Lindblad stock has a forward price-to-sales ratio of 0.63x , which suggests that absolute value is in store. Market-based headwinds can have a temporary impact, but key metrics imply that LIND stock is a recovery play of note!

Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL)

I’ve tracked Royal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL ) closely, partially because I’m interested in booking a cruise and also because I’m impressed by its stock.

CCL stock has risen nearly 3% in the past month, sending it above its 10-, 50-, 100-, and 200-day  moving averages . However, given the broad-based stock market headwinds, a break in its trend-line will likely occur. A slight drawdown would provide investors with an excellent contrarian investment opportunity; here’s why.

I want to start by saying that Royal Caribbean’s primary influencing variables are aligned. For instance, the firm upgraded its guidance last month due to a strong wave season that led to net yields of 19.3% . This led to Royal Caribbean setting its full-year earning-per-share guidance between $10.7 and $10.9, significantly higher than the street’s $10 consensus.

Furthermore, Royal Caribbean has best-in-class profitability metrics, allowing it to exercise economies of scale. For example, Royal Caribbean’s return on  common equity ratio of 52.61%  is approximately 3.63x above the sector median. I cannot stress Royal Caribbean’s profitability metrics enough, as they contribute to “throughout the economic cycle” shareholder returns.

Lastly, Royal Caribbean’s stock is well-placed from a capital markets perspective. As an example, RCL’s forward price-to-earnings ratio of 13.13x  is at a sector median discount of about 17%.
