The JH Coaches 2024  Day Excursion brochure is available by  clicking here.

We have searched high and low to bring you new and exciting destinations as well as plenty of old favourites. We believe that you will be spoilt for choice and truly is something for everyone!

Our friendly, knowledgeable and professional drivers are at the very heart of the success of every JH Coaches tour and look forward to welcoming you on board.

Our fleet of modern coaches are fitted with seat belts and have the latest features for your added safety and comfort.

The programme includes trips operating from the beginning of March through to the end of December. You have a selection of 180 trips between the 10th March and the 15th December, featuring a great choice of interesting and unique destinations for all ages. Some of these trips include live shows, festivals, scenic tours, Christmas markets, special events and MORE. Take our NEW trip for example, The Valleys, Spells & Fells gives you the chance to visit the Boundary Outlet at Colne before heading to meet our guide. We will be taken to Whalley, England’s largest village before continuing through unforgettable countryside to Downham, home to many films and BBC drama series. We then ascend the famous Pendle Hill, long associated with the Lancashire witches and pass through Sabden village before ending with more stunning scenic views of the valley. We then have time at Oswaldtwistle Mills, this former weaving mill has over 100 retailers all under one roof. Or if you enjoy the countryside, we have our Bowness on Windermere Day Excursion. Plus, we have amazing family and children orientated trips with Wildlife Parks, Theme-parks and Museums all included in our new brochure! There really is something for everyone. So don’t be shy and book now! The hard copy of the brochure should be back from the printers next week so if you haven’t already added yourself onto the mailing list, get in touch now!!

COASTAL RESORTS

Family favourites, festive season, houses & gardens, retail therapy, scenic splendour, special events, trains, planes, boats, terms & conditions.

Some excursions have been planned many months in advance and unavoidably dates/details may change, so we reserve the right to amend any excursion or itinerary contained within this brochure or otherwise advertised. Should you need to cancel your place on one of our excursions once you have booked, a cancellation fee of £5 per person per excursion will apply. If the excursion(s) included admission fees, these may also be payable. All day excursions run to a minimum number. Where possible, we try to run all our excursions as advertised, however we reserve the right to cancel excursions should the numbers be too low. We will advise you as soon as possible prior to the departure date if we have had to cancel the excursion. Children are, unless otherwise stated, classed as being between the ages of 3 to 15 years old on the day of the excursion. Passengers over the age of 15 must, unless otherwise stated, pay the adult fare. Infants under the age of 3 years old are free to travel as long as they do not occupy a seat on the coach. If you wish for your infant to have their own seat then the child fare must be paid.

Ebley Coaches are looking for full/part-time/casual drivers to operate School Buses in the Stroud area.

Both morning and afternoon shifts are available during school terms. Other work outside these times will also

be available.

Excellent rates of pay and immediate start available subject to successful interview.

The ideal candidate would already hold a category D licence and have a valid CPC card although training for

the latter may be considered.

A DBS check would be undertaken as part of the joining process.

NFL | Swanson: Is Jayden Daniels proof the Inland Empire is the new QB capital?

The i.e. is known for citrus fields and wineries and golf – and now top nfl qb talent like daniels and c.j. stroud.

I’m telling you; the Inland Empire has a lot going on.

Snowboarding and golf and freestyle motocrossing routes – hitting receivers in stride.

Citrus fields and wineries and NFL talent worth the squeeze; real juice.

Film festivals and Coachella sets, ready … hike: a regular presence these days at Heisman Trophy ceremonies.

Some bright sports stars have been discovered out that way; i.e. Bobby and Barry Bonds; Cheryl Miller and her little brother, Reggie; Kawhi Leonard; Bob Lemon; Anthony Muñoz.

Forget what you know about Texas and Florida, L.A. and Orange County, and consider: Could the I.E. be the new quarterback capital of the world?

There’s definitely something in the orange juice out there, because a year after buddies Bryce Young and Stroud went No. 1 and 2, respectively , in the 2023 NFL draft, Daniels is widely expected to go No. 2 to the Washington Commanders .

He’s the heavy favorite to be selected immediately after USC’s Caleb Williams , who’ll assuredly be Chicago Bears-bound in this year’s selection proceedings Thursday.

Daniels – last season’s Heisman winner – rewrote the state history books as a four-year starter at San Bernardino Cajon High School. He then headed off for an illustrious college career that started at Arizona State and finished at Louisiana State, with outlandish totals of 12,749 yards passing and 3,307 rushing , a combination eclipsing anything by any previous FBS quarterback.

Stroud – a Heisman finalist in 2021 and ’22, and last season’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year – emerged a star from Rancho Cucamonga High after getting his first starts as junior.

Even Young, the former Santa Ana Mater Dei standout who won the Heisman in 2021 and was the Carolina Panthers’ top overall pick a year ago, has ties to the Inland Empire. He and Stroud have memories of Young’s Inland Empire Ducks beating Stroud’s Pomona Steelers when they were eighth-graders.

Daniels – who, at 23, is older than Stroud and Young, both 22 – said he kept tabs on how his Southern California counterparts fared in their first season as pros, as he always has.

“ I seen what they were doing ,” Daniels said on the Pivot podcast in December, in a conversation with former NFL players Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder.

“Even for high school, Bryce has always been highly ranked, always had all eyes on him, but he lived up to expectations. C.J., he was fighting for scholarship at the end of the year, so he always had that chip on his shoulder to go out and prove people wrong ( ahem: 4,557 total passing yards wrong , that tally the second most ever by an NFL rookie).

“For Bryce to win the Heisman and for C.J. to be a finalist back to back years, and to follow them right after that … and to see what they’re doing at the next level?” Daniels said. “C.J. over there ballin’, and Bryce is going through what he’s going through (the Panthers won just two of his 16 starts as he threw 10 interceptions to 11 touchdowns). But he’s always been positive with everything, so I’m most definitely confident he’ll get through that.”

Lately, Daniels has been receiving lots of favorable comparisons to Stroud – who was, in 2018, a second-teamer on the Sun/Bulletin’s All-Area Football list that featured Daniels as its Player of the Year.

NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah said recently there were “ C.J. Stroud elements ” to Daniels. The buzz on the ground in Baton Rouge during Daniels’ pro day was that it was “ eerily similar ” to Stroud’s. And ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky put it out there too: “Watching Jayden Daniels was like watching C.J. Stroud” – i.e. he looked like a great QB from the I.E.

And maybe Stroud’s first NFL season is an example of what Daniels could do? A blueprint like the one these inspiring Inland Empire signal-callers have laid for young people coming up in the area now.

That if they put as much into their craft as Daniels and Stroud have, they too could make their dreams reality.

That loyalty is something that can be rewarded. That talent can be recognized – even when it’s displayed at a neighborhood public school 40 or 60 miles east of L.A.

That quiet, hard-working kids – as was both Stroud’s and Daniels’ reputations – can take the reins and effectively prove a leader on the grandest of stages.

That’s all incredibly meaningful for young people like Evan Powell, Cajon’s current quarterback, who told me in December how proud he was of Daniels’ success.

“ One of my people, from my city, was able to achieve that! ” Powell said. “It means a lot because a lot of people don’t want to respect Cajon or San Bernardino in general, but it’s not like it’s a bad place. So it’s good that he puts on for his city and shows love and support because those are the people who’ve supported him.”

And Daniels, like Stroud, is just getting started. And maybe so too is the football factory that is the Inland Empire.

After months of scouting and hours of interviews, NFL teams are set to select which players they hope will be the future of their franchise.

Thousands of college graduates are available in this weekend’s NFL draft and over three days, 257 of them will see their dreams of becoming an NFL player come true.

The league has picked a good time to take the draft to Detroit for the first time, as the Motor City and its NFL team are enjoying a resurgence.

Hometown boy Aidan Hutchinson was the second overall pick by the Detroit Lions in 2022 and helped turn them into Super Bowl contenders last season.

Which players from this year’s draft class will be given the opportunity to have a similar impact in the NFL?

How does the NFL draft work?

All 32 teams have one pick in each of the seven rounds, going in the reverse order of the previous season's standings - so the team with the worst record goes first and the Super Bowl winners last.

However, previous trades mean that is not strictly the case as NFL teams use future draft picks to acquire players from other teams or move up in the draft.

Not content with just the second overall pick last year, the Houston Texans traded up to get the third too, and the move paid off.

Those two picks - quarterback CJ Stroud and defensive end Will Anderson Jr – were named the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year after leading the Texans into last season’s play-offs.

As a result of that trade, the Texans’ first pick this year is not until the 42nd overall while other trades mean the Cleveland Browns' first pick is the 54th and the Chicago Bears have two of the first nine.

Which team has the first pick?

Chicago had last year's first pick but the Carolina Panthers traded up to select quarterback Bryce Young, a deal which included the Panthers’ first-round selection for 2024.

While Houston’s draft move paid off, Carolina continued to struggle and finished with the league’s worst record, meaning Chicago again have the first overall pick.

Last year they kept faith with young quarterback Justin Fields by trading it away. This year they have kept hold of it, though, trading Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers last month.

Now the Bears have the ideal opportunity to choose a guy capable of leading their franchise long term as the most promising prospects in this year's draft are quarterbacks.

Who will be the first pick in the NFL draft?

As many as six quarterbacks could be selected in the first round and five in the first 10 picks, with Caleb Williams favourite to be first off the board.

After starting his college career at Oklahoma, the 6ft 1in quarterback transferred to the University of Southern California (USC) in 2022 and won the Heisman Trophy – the annual award for best college player.

Like most modern-day quarterbacks, the 22-year-old is a threat with both his arm and his legs. From 33 starts across three seasons in college, he racked up 9,782 passing yards, 93 passing touchdowns and 27 rushing touchdowns.

The Bears have had positive talks with Williams at the NFL Combine, USC's Pro Day and his team visit to Chicago.

“They have been fairly engaged with him for the last few months and not necessarily with some of the other quarterbacks,” the New York Jets’ senior football advisor Phil Savage told BBC Sport.

“It’d be the greatest smokescreen in NFL history if they turn a different name in. But if that does happen, he won’t fall far. He’ll go number two.”

The Washington Commanders and New England Patriots have the second and third picks, respectively, and have also traded away their starting quarterbacks from last season.

They are set to choose between last year's Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels (LSU) and Drake Maye (North Carolina).

2024’s other top draft prospects

That trio are the only quarterbacks among the 13 prospects who accepted invitations to this year’s draft, but JJ McCarthy (Michigan), Michael Penix Jr (Washington) and Bo Nix (Oregon) are also highly rated.

Those set to stride out on stage include four wide receivers - Marvin Harrison Jr (Ohio State), Rome Odunze (Washington), Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr (both LSU).

The first big man to celebrate by lifting NFL commissioner Roger Goodell off his feet could be Dallas Turner (Alabama) or fellow edge rusher Laiatu Latu (UCLA), while offensive tackle Joe Alt (Notre Dame), tight end Brock Bowers (Georgia) and cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo) are also expected to be early picks.

Where is the NFL draft?

Detroit had been downtrodden for decades while the Lions had been in the doldrums too.

But the Michigan city has undergone significant redevelopment and the people's pride in the Lions was restored last season.

Detroit hosted its first play-off game in 30 years and the Lions claimed their first play-off wins in 32, getting within one game of the Super Bowl.

The feelgood factor is finally back in Motown and hundreds of thousands will be heading to free events dotted around the downtown area this weekend.

The draft stage will be situated in Campus Martius park, half a mile from the Lions’ Ford Field, with the draft site stretching to Hart Plaza on Detroit’s riverfront.

When does the draft start? How to follow?

Detroit's fan events will be open some nine hours before the draft starts on Thursday, 25 April, with the Chicago Bears 'on the clock' from 20:00 ET (01:00 BST, Friday).

Each team has 10 minutes to get their pick in during the first round, which is held entirely on day one.

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons heard the talk surrounding Dallas’ noticeably quiet free agency ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, which will take place in Detroit from April 25 through April 27. 

The All-Pro pass rusher explained what he wants Cowboys owner Jerry Jones — who promised to go “all in” at a pre-draft conference Tuesday after another early playoff exit last season — to do and why he’s not worried about the future in Dallas.

“It’s a lot of talk [about free agency], but I would just love to see them add guys who are going to come in and help me and [quarterback] Dak [Prescott] and create opportunities for [wide receiver] CeeDee [Lamb], you know, get things rolling and get back into the positive direction — obviously making playoffs and making a chance at a Super Bowl run,” Parsons, 25, told The Post while promoting Bleacher Report’s live NFL Draft Show, featuring him and Texans quarterback CJ Stroud , which begins Thursday.

Parsons — the 12th overall pick by Dallas in the 2021 NFL Draft — emphasized patience and a focus on young, quality players.

“In reality, we still have six or seven All-Pros on our team, [that are] returning to the team that we didn’t lose,” he said. “We might have lost some fundamental, foundational pieces, but it’s nothing that we can’t obtain in the draft and things that we can make [happen] in June.

“There is still time before the season. And I think we’re going to add a great group of guys… undrafted free agents that are still high-quality players. Look at [safety] Juanyeh Thomas, and how he contributes to our team and he’s going to grow into a bigger role this year, and he was an undrafted guy.”

The Cowboys own seven picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, including No. 24 overall in the first round.

Parsons’ reaction to the pick will be shown in real-time during Bleacher Report’s live NFL Draft Show — which will air on the B/R app and YouTube through all seven rounds across the three-day event, beginning Thursday at 7:45 p.m. ET.

“I’m such a fan,” Parsons said of the 2024 draft class. “I want to see these young guys come into the league and make their mark, and that’s what it’s about… This is kind of like passing the stone, and then you kind of see your competition grow.”

Parsons and Stroud, the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, will share their unique perspectives and insights live from B/R’s New York studio, and they will take questions from fans via “The Chat” in the B/R app during Round 1 of the draft.

The Post spoke with Parsons before the Cowboys exercised his fifth-year option on his rookie deal Wednesday, which keeps him under contract with Dallas through the 2025 season.

Prescott and Lamb, who make up Dallas’ Big 3 with Parsons, are both up for long-term extensions after strong campaigns in 2023.

The quarterback led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes and Lamb led the league with 135 catches in 2023.

Parsons — who is entering his fourth NFL season and is three-for-three in Pro Bowl nods — led the Cowboys in sacks with 14 in 2023.

However, the Cowboys’ season ended in disappointing fashion when they were routed by the Packers in the wild-card round, 48-32.

It was Dallas’ 13th straight playoff appearance without reaching a conference championship.

They’re under pressure in this year’s draft to fill critical vacancies after losing eight players, including five starters, in free agency.

So far, they only signed two outside free agents, Pro Bowl linebacker Eric Kendricks and running back Royce Freeman.

NFL draft bold predictions: What surprises could be in store for first round?

The only guarantee in any given NFL draft is the element of surprise.

No matter how predictable the first round might seem in any year, something unexpected always manages to turn the first round on its head. That dynamic is sure to play out again Thursday in Detroit, as this year's event looks primed for a few twists. But what exactly might shake up Day 1? We took our best guesses with less than 24 hours remaining until things start with the Chicago Bears being put on the clock for the No. 1 pick.

Here are five of our bold predictions for the 2024 NFL draft.

Eight trades on Day 1

This might sound unreasonable, especially to those who spent time painstakingly crafting their mock drafts according to the current order. But recall that there were six swaps in the first round just last year and nine in 2022. In the end, this might be a conservative estimation. It seems like a solid bet that there will be at least one deal centered on a quarterback – and maybe a couple more, depending on who's willing to budge. Beyond that, there's a good equilibrium between win-now teams and those needing to take more of a long-term view toward their roster building. And there are several teams that could follow the Arizona Cardinals' example last year of moving down only to jump back up again. – Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz

Laiatu Latu is first defensive player selected

Don’t be shocked if UCLA’s Laiatu Latu is the first defender off the board. Yes, the neck injury that led to his temporary medical retirement at the University of Washington four years ago is doubtless going to scare some teams away – though Latu said at this year’s scouting combine that he’d gotten a clean bill of healthy medically. But it only takes one team to go all in on a guy who’s almost certainly this draft’s most polished and productive pass rusher after the 2023 Pac-12’s final defensive player of the year collected 35 tackles for loss, 23½ sacks, five forced fumbles and a pair of interceptions over the past two seasons for the Bruins. Latu should be an immediate impact player as a rookie next season. – Nate Davis

The Bears will use their second first-round pick to give Caleb Williams a stud receiver

What better way for the Chicago Bears to welcome their new franchise quarterback to the fold than by drafting one of the top-rated receivers to provide him with a running mate/weapon to grow with? The Bears, with the ninth pick in the first round, wouldn’t be blamed if they played it safe and selected an edge rusher. But surely they have the capital to move up in the draft. And hey, after witnessing the manner in which the Houston Texans obtained an extra premium pick last year and snagged Will Anderson to complement C.J. Stroud, anything’s possible. In this case, the Bears – who already have receiving studs in DJ Moore and recently-acquired star Keenan Allen – could be tempted by the prospect of creating a three-headed monster for Caleb Williams by adding, say, LSU’s Malik Nabers or Washington’s Roman Odunze. And if the Cardinals are shopping the fourth pick, why not go for broke and try for Marvin Harrison? That’s Bears GM Ryan Poles on Line 1. – Jarrett Bell

Raiders draft Michael Penix Jr. as record-tying six QBs selected in first round

The Raiders are enamored with reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels. Raiders coach Antonio Pierce helped recruit Daniels to Arizona State before the quarterback transferred to LSU. But Daniels will be off the board when Las Vegas selects at No. 13. The Raiders will turn their attention to Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr., a not-so-bad consolation prize, as he’s arguably the best thrower of the football in the 2024 draft class. Penix will be among six quarterbacks taken in the first round of this year’s draft, joining Caleb Williams, Daniels, Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy and Bo Nix, matching a record for most quarterbacks picked in the first round in the common draft era. – Tyler Dragon

No defensive player taken until No. 13 overall 

Remember Mario Williams? What a far cry we are from defensive ends going No. 1 in the draft. Sure, there isn’t that one standout defender in this class (a la Will Anderson from last year), and the best defensive player might be someone who was forced to medically retire from the game in football.

There are the top three (four?) quarterbacks who will go at the top. There are the three top receivers who should go within the top 10. Then there is the loaded tackle class to consider. Mix in a few more linemen, another quarterback, maybe another receiver, and suddenly … we are out of the top 10 with no defensive players yet selected. Presuming the Vikings eventually find a trade partner at No. 11, perhaps the team trading back (or up) could take a defender. I find it hard to believe that Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos would go defense 12th. That leaves the Las Vegas Raiders and first-year head coach Antonio Pierce on the clock with their choice of a defender. 

They say defense wins championships. It rarely wins the post-draft news conference, though. And the teams making these choices this early in the draft are usually in that position because of poor performance on the offensive side of the ball. – Chris Bumbaca
