Didn't use Colina, I chose NOVA Dental Clinic and could not be more pleased with them. Fantastic correspondence prior to the trip. The Cleanest Dental practice I have ever been in! Both Dentists were hands on every step of the way, even the cleaning was done by the Dentist. I never had to wait and they even called taxis to be sure I did not have to wait and that the driver knew where to take me! Really, the Dentist walks out with you to the taxi! With cleaning, whitening, an extraction, sinus lift, 2 implants and 4 crowns I expected to be pretty miserable! Very pleasantly surprised when I only had one afternoon and night of discomfort. They had the most up to date equipment (makes me wonder why the dentists in FL still use outdated xray equipment etc) My experience with NOVA will make it difficult for me to ever be pleased by a US dentist! Every Staff Member goes out of their way to ensure the comfort of their Patients.

I would recommend visiting a implantologist, prosthodontist or maxilofacial surgeon only, and you can see all the licensed practioners in Costa Rica here:

Here are a couple good clinics and a site to compare them on:

Good sites. Still I prefer Personal Experience with specific Professionals. I did contact some former Patients to verify testimonials before I chose NOVA Dental. I felt confident after Individuals gave me their first hand reviews.

Thank you both so much.

Listen to me i will hook you up rite. This is from personal experience.

This post has been removed at the author's request.

I was a little afraid at first of going down there on my own and having so much work done but all fears were calmed when I discovered that most of the people in my hotel were also seeing Dr. Anglada and his partner Dr. Castro. Some had been coming there for years and have made them thier regular dentist.

I look forward to going back.

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Dana Thompsom, Washington DC: I have a beautiful smile once again thanks to my referral from the Costa Rica Dental Tourism Guide.

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Diana Jones, Miami Florida: The Costa Rica Dental Tourism Guide helped me a lot. I was considering several different clinics and didn’t know which one to choose. I found the website through a Google research, I contacted and someone replied minutes later with a recommendation based on my request. My husband and I went with that clinic and the experience was incredible. I never would have found this clinic on my own, so I am so grateful.

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Martin Michelle, Portsmouth, Virginia: I was searching for dental clinics abroad and found the Costa Rica Dental Tourism Guide. I filled out a form and literally 10 minutes later I got an email back from their patient coordinator. He sent me three competitive estimates based on my needs from three clinics, and helped me choose the right one. It’s been almost seven months since my full mouth reconstruction.

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Louis David, Savannah, Georgia: I was reviewing many dental clinics in Costa Rica and all of them offering professional dental procedures, I did not which one to trust, so I thought there must be a guide that helped me to decide and gave me clinic recommendations, so I found the Costa Rica Dental Tourism Guide. After I contact them, I was replied back almost instantaneously and I explained my dental needs, asked for recommendations of some of the clinics I had picked up and after some hours they helped me to decide for one clinic. I was put in contact with them and I continued the process. I visited Costa Rica late 2018 and my experience was truly good. I was able to visit Arenal Volcano and Jacó Beach. I really had a dental vacations, and best of all, at a fraction of the USA prices.

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Ana LaRue, Toronto, Canada: My name is Ana, I live in Canada and I traveled to Costa Rica for implants dental treatment. The clinic recommended for the Costa Rica Dental Tourism Guide did an exceptional work, is a dream I had for more than 40 years because I was very young when I lost my teeth. I am very satisfied and super happy I can smile again. Thank you Drs! I recommend you to use the guide and their team 100%. With much appreciation,

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Leonard Fraser, West Palm Beach, Florida: The clinic that the Costa Rica Dental Tourism Guide suggested me was extremely talented, skilled and knowledgeable. Dr is also the most kind, considerate and caring dentist you will ever find. I am very grateful that I came to Costa Rica and was able to find her. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She performed an All On 6 with zirconium ceramic teeth. I could not have hoped for a better result.

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Glen Hamel, Miami, Florida: The Costa Rica Dental Tourism staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped me to choose the right dental clinic in Costa Rica. Doctors take their time to answer all questions and the best part is there is no waiting around. I traveled to Costa Rica June, 2018 and once I passed control and got out the airport, a person was waiting for me to take me to hotel. Everything was as expected.

Costa Rica Dental Review by: Steven Anderson, Miami, Florida: I was very scared in the beginning to go to a dentist abroad. I made an exhaust research and I found many clinics, I was confused and nervous on which one to choose, then I found the Costa Rica dental tourism guide, and their staff guided me through the process to pick up the right clinic. When I was to Costa Rica, the whole staff and the doctors took great care and took one step at a time to complete everything. I am glad I found the guide.

But here it is a relaxing experience where you don’t concentrate on your pain. This is how it is from the time you come with the receptionist area until you leave. Modern technology is awesome with your choice of music, chair massager, etc. I am very glad I found the Costa Rica dental tourism guide and I found the clinic they suggested. It was THE EXPERIENCE!

Dental implants in costa rica: exploring the pros and cons of this popular dental tourism destination.

dental tourism costa rica reviews

Dental tourism has gained immense popularity in recent years, with patients traveling to different countries to seek affordable and high-quality dental treatments. Among the top destinations for dental procedures is Costa Rica, a tropical paradise known for its scenic beauty and excellent healthcare system. In this article, we will explore the pros and cons of getting dental implants in Costa Rica, shedding light on important factors for industry professionals and patients alike.

Pros of Getting Dental Implants in Costa Rica

  • Cost Savings : One of the primary reasons patients consider dental tourism is the significant cost savings. Dental implants in Costa Rica can be up to 50-70% cheaper compared to the prices in developed countries like the United States or Canada. This cost advantage allows patients to undergo the procedure at a fraction of the cost, including travel expenses.
  • Quality of Care : Costa Rica is renowned for its world-class healthcare system and highly trained dental professionals. Many dental clinics in the country adhere to international standards and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The country boasts a large pool of dentists who have received training and education both domestically and internationally, ensuring patients receive top-notch care.
  • Experienced Specialists : Costa Rica is home to a significant number of experienced and skilled dental specialists who have a wealth of expertise in dental implant procedures. Many dentists have received advanced training and certifications from reputable institutions, giving patients the assurance of expert care and successful outcomes.
  • Tourism Opportunities : Combining dental treatment with a vacation in a tropical paradise is an enticing prospect for many patients. Costa Rica offers a diverse range of attractions, from pristine beaches and lush rainforests to adventurous activities like zip-lining and surfing. Patients can enjoy their recovery period in a picturesque setting, making their dental journey a memorable experience.
  • Minimal Waiting Times : Unlike in some countries where long waiting lists are common for dental procedures, Costa Rica often offers shorter waiting times. This allows patients to receive timely treatment, minimizing discomfort and delays associated with dental issues.
  • Ease of Communication : English proficiency is widespread among Costa Rican dental professionals, making communication seamless for international patients. Being able to effectively communicate with their dentists helps patients feel comfortable and ensures clear understanding throughout the treatment process.

Cons of Getting Dental Implants in Costa Rica

  • Travel Logistics : Dental tourism requires careful planning and coordination, including travel arrangements, accommodation, and scheduling appointments. Patients must consider the time and costs associated with travel, as well as the potential inconvenience of being away from their home country during the treatment and recovery period.
  • Follow-up and Aftercare : After the dental implant procedure, proper follow-up and aftercare are crucial for successful healing. Patients who choose dental tourism must ensure that they have access to reliable follow-up care in their home country or make arrangements for extended stays in Costa Rica to complete the necessary post-operative visits.
  • Language Barrier : While many dental professionals in Costa Rica have English proficiency, patients may encounter language barriers with other healthcare staff or during their daily activities. Patients should consider their comfort level with language differences and explore translation services or companionship options if needed.
  • Insurance Coverage : Dental insurance coverage for procedures performed abroad can vary significantly. Patients considering dental tourism in Costa Rica should carefully review their insurance policies to understand the extent of coverage, reimbursement options, and any additional requirements or limitations that may apply.
  • Unfamiliar Dental Regulations : Dental regulations and standards may differ between countries, which can pose challenges for patients seeking dental treatment abroad. Patients should thoroughly research and ensure that the dental clinics in Costa Rica adhere to recognized accreditation standards to guarantee quality and safety.

Dental tourism to Costa Rica offers several advantages, including substantial cost savings, high-quality care, experienced specialists, and an opportunity for a memorable vacation. However, patients should carefully consider the potential challenges associated with travel logistics, language barriers, follow-up care, insurance coverage, and unfamiliar dental regulations. By conducting thorough research, planning diligently, and consulting with their dentists and travel agents, patients can make informed decisions and enjoy a successful dental implant experience in beautiful Costa Rica.

It is recommended that consumers do not share their personal and confidential information on random medical tourism platforms as they may not be secure. Consumers must be cautious when disclosing their private information as some organizations may not protect their privacy and could misuse their information. Additionally, there are agencies that may prioritize their commissions over the well-being of the patients. Consumers should avoid choosing the cheapest price and instead make a thorough comparison across multiple facilitators to make an informed decision.
