The tour begins with a pick-up from the agreed meeting point in El Calafate. You’ll enjoy a comfortable ride in our buses, and a bilingual tourist guide will provide you with insights about the breathtaking landscape you’re about to explore.

Upon arriving at the “Bajo las Sombras” Port, which is only 7km from the Glacier, you’ll embark on a ship to cross the Brazo Rico . After a short 20-minute voyage, you’ll step onto the opposite shore.

We organize small groups, typically with up to 10 people , to ensure an intimate experience. Your glacier adventure commences from the southern moraine, and in just over an hour, you’ll reach a magnificent viewpoint, granting you access to the glacier. Here, o ur guides will equip you with crampons, harnesses, and helmets to begin your journey.

Once you’re on the glacier, your perspective transforms: you’ll witness blue ponds, deep crevices, colossal glacier mills, enchanting ice caves, and the unparalleled sensation of being within the glacier’s heart.

Accompanied by our experienced mountain guides, you’ll explore the most unique glacier in the world for approximately three and a half hours . Throughout the hike, our guides will share their knowledge about the ice and its surroundings, enabling you to grasp the glacier’s dimensions and relish the views of nearby mountains, including Cerro Dos Picos, Cerro Pietrobelli, and Cerro Cervantes. Additionally, you’ll have a half-hour break to savor your lunch atop the pristine ice, surrounded by unparalleled beauty.

As you return to the moraine, you’ll embark on another one-hour walk to reach the port, where you’ll take a boat that navigates remarkably close to the southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. This journey allows you to reconnect with “civilization” after experiencing one of the most spectacular ice treks worldwide!

  • R1745GEviktorias 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles DO NOT BOOK !!!! I made the booking one day before the trip. I called the agency during the booking to confirm that it is still possible to do it because it is only one day before - they assured me that it is ok. I called again in the morning to confirm the pick up JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE - again they assured me that everything is ok and that I should be ready at 10:15 for pick up. At 10:45 they send me an email canceling the trip! Worst organization ever - save your nerves and avoid this agency at all cost. And believe the reviews here as it seems like this is not the first time they have done it!!!!!!! Read more Written November 25, 2023

  • liishu 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Don’t book the day before Like another commentator said - don’t bok the day prior. Even though they had made their scheduling available for the next day and I provided all the required information, my reservation was cancelled. I was notified of it late at night, so I couldn’t even look for alternatives. Went to another agency in person early in the morning the day of the tour and luckily they were able to fit me into a tour. We’ll see how the refund request goes. Read more Written December 16, 2022
  • paulfF2909HY 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Hard work getting there for very basic experience. Unless you like horse riding, give this a miss. After driving 40 minutes you then turn onto a dirt road and experience 34kms of bone jarring travel. It served a nice meal but attractions were basic at best. Read more Written December 11, 2022
  • Maria F 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Glaciers by Water Buy your glacier cruise in El Calafate as soon as you arrive because the cruises sell out. There are a couple different glacier cruises. We took the Upsala, Spengazzini cruise which I highly recommend. We cruised Lago Argentina and up two of the arms. It was beautiful. The water was an unbelievable turquoise blue with floating ice bergs. After visiting one of the glacier up close you disembark on the shore for lunch. You can bring a lunch, purchase a hot lunch from the boat, or purchase food from the cafeteria overlooking the glacier. You can eat inside or on the deck overlooking the glacier. If you want to go in luxury you can purchase passage in the Captain’s cabin riding in a private room in the front of the boat with food and wine served throughout the cruise. We took my father and it was a perfect way for those who can’t go trekking to see the glaciers. Also, this cruise allowed us to see different glaciers other than Perito Merreno which we mini-trekked. • V3155FJlisak 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Fun day and great views! Fun day! The hike was fun and once we were at the top the views were amazing. It was a long drive from El Calafete but our guide was terrific providing a lot of great history and info. The 4x4 part of the excursion was a bit misleading as there was not a true 4x4 adventure as we were expecting (four wheeling) but rather a 40 min ride in a van over some rough terrain to get to the start of the hike. Overall we would do this trip again! Read more Written February 25, 2020

It is a 1.30 hour drive from airport in the National park. The restaurant that serves lamb is excellent. The other little restaurant serves simple but good dinners. They also have a small but nice wine choice. Read more Written February 12, 2020

We booked, paid for and received “instant confirmation” for Grey Line Argentina’s Walk With The Penguins tour, yet two days later they cancelled our booking. What use is instant confirmation if they say something is available, confirm the booking, but still go ahead and cancel. No mention that we had to reconfirm with passport numbers the day before 5pm for pick up. We were travelling the next day without internet the next day and arrived in hotel at 7pm. We responded immediately. No pick up the next day and we missed the entire trip and no refund when asked. This is is scam. All necessary passport information could be obtained at booking. Did not pick us up despite the confirmation & full payment 2 days before. You have to reconfirmed with passport number before 5pm the day before your travel. If not, no pick up from hotel and you missed the whole trip. We were travelling from Chile to Argentina the day before and had no access to internet. We arrived at hotel at 7pm and responded immediately but still no pick up the next day......no refund either! No other company will ask for additional information after confirmation of booking. If passport number is require, it could easily be included in the original application so no reconfirmation is needed. The whole process appears to be a scam. Read more Written January 19, 2020

Called after booking day prior to excursion and was told we would have information about pickup in the morning. • samanthabB4471ER 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Very dissapointed and agree with JamieScott1019's previous review I have never written a negative review and I am guilty of not reviewing much in general but this experience has made me so upset and I want to warn others. I booked my tour through Trip Advisor with Gray Line Argentina weeks ago. After seeing the previous post by Jamie Scott I was concerned so I decided to follow up with all my tour operators. All the other agencies had an option to message them which I did to confirm everything was good to go, but Gray Line did not have this option. I tried e-mailing two of their e-mails I found online but no response. Finally I paid to call them long distance and was told that my trip was confirmed and they would send me a follow-up by noon. I never received a follow-up email. Today I wake up to a refund with zero explanation from them. I leave for my trip on Friday and I called them again. Turns out the local tour operator (Gray Line must not do the tours themselves) was at capacity. While the woman was very nice and apologized she said there was nothing they could do and they refunded me. Had I never called them I am unsure what they would have done--possibly just never picked me up on the day of? It is extremely frustrating because all of the tours are booked for this day as it's Christmas Day--which is why I purposefully booked in advance. I recommend booking only with the companies that will be leading the tours and not third parties like Gray Line (I didn't realize they did not do the tour). Hielo y Aventura seems to be the go to operator for this tour. Hope this helps. Read more Written December 18, 2019
  • JefeGeoffod 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Great small group tour, great views of glacier - excellent guide. When I arrived at my hotel, the details of my trip were waiting for me (in an envelope). The mini bus picked me up on time and we started our trip. Our group was about 15 people - so not too many. I was the only native English speaker on the tour and the guide offered to do the tour in both Spanish and English. My Spanish is ok and as part of the reason for my trip was to improve my Spanish - I asked for Spanish. The guide was very good to speak clearly and not too quickly. The glacier is spectacular and not to be missed on an tour to this region. I did the additional boat trip and it was good, but you don't get much closer to the glacier than from the lookouts. If you are a bit tight with money you could skip the boat trip, but you do have an extra hour to fill in. Either way - good fun and not too be missed. Read more Written December 11, 2019
