A wild and rugged frontier An epic adventure
About the kimberley.
To be immersed in the Kimberley is like touching the spiritual heart of our extraordinary country. Those who’ve explored this region with Outback Spirit talk of a deep sense of fulfillment at having ‘done the Kimberley’. The rugged escarpments, the magnificent gorges and pristine waterways; you’ll be blown away at just how spectacular it all is.
Travelling through the Kimberley, it’s hard not to be captivated by its history. The region is rich in Indigenous culture, being home to Aboriginal people for tens of thousands of years with their ancient culture recorded through stunning rock art. More recently, from the early explorers to pastoral pioneers, to the defence of our shores during WWII; they’re all fascinating feats of bravery, courage and endurance.
Whichever part of the Kimberley is calling, the adventure of a lifetime awaits with Outback Spirit.
Bungle Bungles Heli-Flight now included!
Outback Spirit’s dry season Kimberley tours are now inclusive of a spectacular helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles, valued at $299 per person. Regarded by most as a highlight of their adventure, this breathtaking 18-minute scenic flight offers a bird’s eye view of one of Australia’s most striking geological wonders and provides a stunning perspective of Purnululu National Park. This will be a true highlight of your Kimberley tour.
Unique Safari Camps & Lodges
If you’re travelling with Outback Spirit in the Kimberley, you’re staying in the region's very best safari camps and wilderness lodges. Enjoy the romance of sleeping under canvas yet enjoy all the creature comforts, such as ensuite bathrooms and 240v power. On the Mitchell Plateau, our very own Ngauwudu Safari Camp features stunning tented safari suites scattered amongst the Livistona palms, just a stone’s throw from our private palm fringed swimming hole.
Unsurpassed Access to the Kimberley
Thanks to our network of lodges and local partnerships, you’ll visit areas in the Kimberley that most other tour operators simply can’t take you. Strategically located, these accommodation bases make it possible to explore the Kimberley’s most stunning natural attractions including the Mitchell Plateau and Bungle Bungles. So, if you want to get off the beaten track and experience the real Kimberley, an Outback Spirit Kimberley tour is for you.
Supporting Conservation
Outback Spirit is a proud financial supporter of Australian Wildlife Conservancy, Australia’s pre-eminent not-for-profit conservation group. With over 2.5 million acres across four sanctuaries, AWC is on the frontline of wildlife conservation in the Kimberley with ground-breaking research and on-ground management. Sadly, much of the Kimberley’s unique wildlife is under threat from extinction, and without groups like AWC the future for these precious species is very bleak. Since 2008, Outback Spirit has donated over $1 million to AWC, 90% of which is spent in the field, not on administration.

Darwin Kakadu Kimberley's to Broome. So much to see and do we were absolutely satisfied by the end of our trip
Driver Russel and tour host Neal were amazing. Always made sure we were comfortable Well informed and we were always well fed
Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind words. We are so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time with Russell and Neil. Thank you for choosing to travel with us and we look forward to seeing you on board again sometime.
The trip from Darwin to Broome was fabulous. Magnificent scenery all the way. The itinerary was comprehensive and well thought out. Accommodation was better than I expected. Food was plentiful and delicious. The driver and host (Russell and Neil) were magnificent and worked seamlessly together. Would highly recommend this trip.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time with Russell and Neil (we think they are pretty awesome too!) We would love to see you back on board again sometime.
FoF tour "Treasure Islands of Queensland". Big thanks to: Host-Judy (Roma St. Rail to Gladstone, C.Cptn Greg (Gladstone to Cairns), for making the road travel part of the trip as comfortable as possible on the infamous Bruce hwy, Host-Lyndall (Gladstone to Cairns) who capably handled unforeseen changes to our group's travel, special needs of some of the group. Though the FoF tours have fitness-ratings, which are self-assessed, these seem to be overlooked by some travellers who are unable to meet the criteria but are still allowed on the tour. This tour has 4 hotel stays that are longer than one night, which is good. The best hotel was just an overnight stay at Rockhampton. A recommendation for this trip is to have with you and ingest, lots of motion sickness pills as there is a lot of road and boat travel. Check itinerary for the time spent on boats. The Coral Sea can be very 'bumpy'. I was unhappy with people on our (Coach & boat) tour who chose to be selfish and NOT wear face masks or socially distant themselves, as per the requirement of the trip.
Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your tour and time with Judy, Greg and Lyndall. We look forward to seeing you onboard again sometime.
The tour, Darwin, Kakadu, The Kimberley and Broome, was a huge success that was very well planned and organised by Fun Over Fifty and implemented by Tour Host Ann, who ensured that we were well fed and watered and Coach Captain Russell who provided daily information regarding the country we were travelling through and delivered us safely to our final destination, Broome. Nothing was left to chance and we could not have asked for better team to travel with. Thank you Ann and Russell. There were so many great experiences to be had on this tour. The tour highlight for Lois and I was the early morning scenic flight over Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungle Range and the Argyle Diamond Mine. Absolutely spectacular. Should be on everyone's wish list. Looking forward to our next trip with Fun Over Fifty
Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased that you chose to travel with us on this tour. It is music to our ears to hear that you enjoyed your time with Anne and Russell and that the inclusions you felt were spectacular. We so look forward to our next time seeing you onboard.
This was my third trip with Fun over 50. Each has been quite different. But each was fantastic. My first tour was 'Elvis in Parkes", the second tour was 'Man from Snowy River festival" and the latest one was the Bee Gee's concert tour on the Gold Coast. In every instance both the Coach Captain and our tour guide have been very friendly, and professional. In each instance everything ran smoothly, The meals, accommodation and included activities have been well planned and enjoyable. I already have my fourth trip booked for early next year. and it wont be my last with Fun over 50.. . Karen Fairhurst
Thank you Karen for taking the time to leave your kind review. We are so pleased to hear that you are enjoying our wonderful festival and event tours. We look forward to seeing you onboard again in 2023!
Very well organised, fun group of people everyone looked out for everyone, top class accommodation. Loved everything about it .
Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind review. We are so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful time and love all the inclusions. We look forward to seeing you onboard again sometime.

What people are saying about the tour.
We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs
The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera
The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray
Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger
Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam
The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson
The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.

Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventure Tours
A Horizontal Falls Tour begins at Broome airport. A seaplane will take you on an 80 min flight towards Cape Leveque and Cygnet Bay, then across to Paradise Point, before landing at Horizontal Falls. The pilot provides commentary along the way. The next leg of the tour is to see the Horizontals Falls up close – an exhilarating experience by jet boat. After a BBQ lunch, there’s an opportunity to swim in a shark cage alongside nurse sharks! A change of pace is provided by a calm, guided boat tour of Talbot and Cyclone Bays. Then it’s back to the pontoon, to board a seaplane back to Broome. Read the Seniorocity review here.
