Does knowing that your tour guide is a well-learned academic make the tour less scary? Or does it mean that there’s enough proof to make even the most questioning minds believe in the paranormal?

The tour is kid friendly and guests may bring their own alcoholic beverages.

Ghost Tour

Founded in 1718, New Orleans has long been regarded as one of the America’s oldest and most haunted cities. From her birth as a French Colony to her coronation as the Crowning Jewel of the South, New Orleans has suffered a long history of death and destruction that has threatened the soul of the city as well as her inhabitants. Floods, fires, rampant disease outbreaks, and cold- blooded murders have left a veil over the city, a veil that is often lifted when the souls of the dead return to remind the living of their tortured past.

As we approach the 300th birthday of New Orleans, one must wonder if the souls of her long forgotten deceased will soon return to participate in this gala. Will the dearly and not- so- dearly departed return once again to celebrate alongside the living? In 2010 the New Orleans Ghost Hunters sought out to answer this very question. After several years of research, they have their answer.

The New Orleans Ghost Hunters was formed through a collaboration of professional individuals who had spent their entire lives in the Crescent City. Paranormal experiences each had growing up left them with two burning questions: are ghost real and can we capture physical evidence of paranormal activity? Since their conception the New Orleans Ghost Hunters have investigated numerous residential and historical locations. Their experiences and expertise in the field has led to them hosting paranormal conventions and a local and now international talk radio show and appearing as guest speakers at Wizard Word and on T.V.

The New Orleans Ghost Hunters now reveal their long awaited answer in their “Ghosts of the French Quarter Tour”. Join your tour guide, co- founder, and lead investigator of the New Orleans Ghost Hunters, David Laville, as he takes you on a 90 minute walking tour through the most concentrated area of paranormal activity in the French Quarter. You will journey to the scenes of infamous duels, cold- blooded murders, yellow fever outbreaks, and lost loves. Learn about the city and why those who call her home refuse to leave her even after their earthly time is up. Hear the true stories from those who have actually investigated the locations and decide for yourself what secrets the city holds. Will this be the night the city allows you to see her past?

Tour guide speaking to group

Over 20 Years of Excellence!

The owner was very helpful in booking our tour. Cedric was hands down amazing!!!! He made the tour very fun, and if I go back and take another tour, I want him as my tour guide!!! Spooky and informative, we learned a lot about the ghosts and graveyards of New Orleans!! This is a must do tour if you go to NOLA, and make sure you get Cedric!

Rose was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about her subject. She went really deep describing folklore, historical, societal, and cultural origins of vampires that mirror our fears and perceptions reflecting it back to us. All of these were done in a way that made us able to relate and think deep about who we are.

I highly recommend this tour if you want to dig a little deeper and learn what New Orleans was and is all about and how it came to be the city we see nowadays. Thus a very, very interesting tour given by Toast, who's is an excellent storyteller, with a solid knowledge of history, funny anecdotes and music.

We toured with Toast (yes tour guide was named Toast), who was absolutely amazing. He told us numerous different stories of the area including hauntings and other parts of New Orleans history. He was incredibly entertaining and the two hours flew by. We went to several different graveyard sites as well as a local park and the old Charity Hospital.

We booked the French Quarter Ghost Tour and it was so much fun. Katrice was an absolute professional when dealing with less than ideal participants and the general rowdy public. She was engaging, educational, and the highlight of our night. We loved hearing the history and the stories as we walked the quarter.

From a Ghost Tour to a Parade — All the Details from Christina Hendricks' Glam New Orleans Wedding (Exclusive)

The 'Mad Men' star married George Bianchini on April 20 in a 'sexy, romantic' wedding with lots of festive, NOLA-style touches

Erin Clack is a Staff Editor for PEOPLE. She has been writing about fashion, parenting and pop culture for more than 15 years.

SOPHIE LIN BERARD | @SBERARDWEDDINGS

Christina Hendricks had a wedding to remember!

The Buccaneers star, 48, married camera operator George Bianchini on Saturday, April 20, in New Orleans in a weekend-long celebration filled with lots of festive, NOLA-style touches. The 75-person guest list included Mad Men creator Matt Weiner and actor Bryan Batt, fashion designer Christian Siriano and actresses Retta and Mae Whitman .

The event kicked off with a welcome party on Friday, April 19, hosted at a mini mansion on the Soniat House hotel property, which was recently redecorated by renowned interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before stepping out into the historic streets of the French Quarter for a ghost tour.

SOPHIE LIN BERARD | @SBERARDWEDDINGS

"We thought that would be a really fun way for people to get to know each other a little bit, and since many of our guests had not been to New Orleans, it's a way to be like, 'Okay, you've arrived, let's show you around the French Quarter. Let's introduce you to the city that you're in and to each other,' " Hendricks tells PEOPLE. "So we just thought what an ice breaker and a fun way to walk around in the evening together."

The actress, who says she was determined to be "overdressed and fabulous" all weekend long, wore a custom Christian Siriano gown for the welcome party, accessorized with antique jewelry, for the occasion. "That's how I've always wanted to traipse the streets of New Orleans at night — in a serious gown with a drink in hand, just walking around," she explains.

The following day, Hendricks and Bianchini — who got engaged in February 2023 after proposing to each other — exchanged handwritten vows at a ceremony held at Napoleon House , a century-old restaurant that remains a New Orleans landmark. The actress' close friend Shirley Manson, lead singer of the '90s music group Garbage, officiated.

The bride wore a custom  Katya Katya  bridal gown which she says made her cry the first time she tried it on "because it was so beautiful." She paired it with a  Claire Pettibone  custom version of her Boho Juliet veil with pale grey silk ribbons and lace flowers.

The couple's reception featured a multi-course sit-down dinner in lieu of a buffet. "People really love to do a buffet in New Orleans for weddings. We're just not really buffet people. I want to sit there and be lazy and have someone bringing [the food]," she tells PEOPLE. "So we did a sit-down dinner. We coursed it out and offered good, Southern New Orleans food."

The menu included shrimp and grits, steak and muffaletta sandwiches — a New Orleans staple — rounded out with a dessert of Bananas Foster, flambéed tableside for each guest.

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

The weekend celebration concluded with a brunch on Sunday, April 21, featuring NOLA-inspired "snack-y" foods. "The kind of things that your mom would've made for you — the traditional dips and deviled eggs and farm Southern things with crawfish in them and all that," Hendricks says.

Hendricks says she and Bianchini — whom she first met on the set of her series Good Girls , which ran from 2018 to 2021 — wanted their wedding to be a big celebration of their love and a fun and memorable experience for their guests.

"We wanted [our friends and family] to feel sexy and welcomed and love and laugh, and have delicious food and indulge and enjoy incredible music. And we wanted to say, 'And hey, if you stick around, it'll continue to be like this. Come to our house. We'll do more of this,' " she explains.

"This is our best party, but we're going to have a lot more,' " she adds.
