LOMOND GOLF TOURS SCOTLAND RECOMMENDS:
This bespoke Tour offers some of Scotland’s finest golfing regions with a real mix of Championship courses. If you enjoy the history of the game you’ll experience the golf coast of East Lothian, the rich golfing history of Ayrshire, the heart of Perthshire and the true test of Angus. Steeped in history and tradition, these six venues offer a true test for any Champion.
- Prestwick Golf Club the original venue of the British Open, and where the first eight Opens were played. One of golf’s most recognised venues often sits within the world’s top 25 golfing destinations.
- Carnoustie Golf Links, is an iconic golfing destination which offers golf’s greatest test. The Championship Course has held the Open 8 times with the most recent being in 2018. Each years the course is used for the annual Dunhill Links, alongside St Andrews Old Course and Kingsbarns.
- Muirfield, one of the Open circuit’s toughest venues. It may not have the dramatic coastline of Turnberry, or quite the mystique of St Andrews, but the course is of the very highest calibre.

Can I bring my non-golfer partner?
Of course you can. Our tours are specifically designed so non-golfing partners enjoy the trip as much as their golfing partners. Our hotels are always central to towns and popular activities. We also create non-golfer itineraries that are crafted with the interests of the non-golfers in mind and that means we consult with you before we book any non-golfer activity.
Do I need a certain handicap to join this tour?
No, our golf tours are accepting of all golfers. Depending on the destination, some golf courses require you to have a certain handicap, and this will be expressed prior to any booking confirmation. Otherwise, you are welcome to join our golf tour as they are always inclusive.
What happens on tour?
Escorted golf tours are one of the most enjoyable types of holidays. Our groups are small and everyone gets to know each other on a first-name basis early-on in the tour.
On a golf day, breakfast is usually taken between 6:30 - 08.30, and our first tee-times are usually mid-morning. This allows for the early risers and late-goers to enjoy a two-hour period for breakfast. We like to keep the afternoons free for sightseeing, resort relaxation, shopping or general downtime. We usually restrict each day to having one activity, whether it's a half-day tour or round of golf, it's usually quite relaxed.
Apart from the welcome dinner and farewell dinner, we usually keep evenings free to enjoy whichever destination you are in. If you are travelling by yourself, the tour leaders have an open invitation to dine with them; if this is the case, you're in for a real treat as the tour leaders know where to go for the best meals. We always stay in destinations where local restaurants are either a short walk or short transfer away, so there are plenty of options to dine.
What is the make-up of your tour guests?
Over the decades, our tours average the following guest ratio: 70% couples, 30% singles. Our tours are comprised on average of 55% male and 45% female. One fact we are proud of is that our tours enjoy an average of 70% or higher repeat guest rate .
Are you an accredited travel company?
Absolutely. We are firm believers in travelling safely and with transparency. See our full list of accreditation here .

Scotland's Famous Golfing Regions
The crown jewel that sits on the regal throne of golf has to be St Andrews. Their world famous Old Course is steeped in the richest of history, dating as far back as the 15th century. It is believed that St Andrews is where golf originated, which has led to it being given the honourable title as “The Home of Golf.” For many golfers, playing in the Old Course is the ultimate bucket list experience on their golf tour, offering the opportunity to play where previous legends have won here.
It is often argued that Ayrshire is the best place in the world for a golf tour and it is not difficult to see why. Located in the south-east of Scotland, Ayrshire is densely populated with nearly 50 golf courses. Playing golf here gives you access to three of the world’s most treasured links courses that are also Open Championship courses – Old Prestwick, Royal Troon and Turnberry. Ayrshire has a mix of parkland, heathland and moorland courses that provide a variety of golfing treasures to be discovered.
East Lothian
Referred to as Scotland’s Golf Coast, East Lothian provides 21 golf courses set amidst its stunning coastline, golden beaches and rolling countryside. Having hosted the Open Championship sixteen times, Muirfield can be seen as the cream of the crop when it comes to prestige. Its relationship with the championship dates back to 1892 with the most recent being held in 2013. Muirfield’s prestige and rich history may make it the most famous in its region but there are other diamonds in the rough for you to discover.
North East of Scotland
Home to more than 50 clubs in a spectacular region with awe-inspiring scenery, the northeast is certainly a place that you have to visit on your golf tour. The most famous of these golf clubs is Royal Aberdeen – the sixth oldest in the world – where members can test their skills on the famous Balgownie golf course. If you are a fan of the links courses then you’re spoilt for choice, with the northeast providing some of the best golf courses in world golf such as Cruden Bay, Murcar and Fraserburgh.
Scottish Highlands
The Scottish Highlands offers a golf tour like no other, where you can sharpen your strokes on traditional links courses that nestle you in a realm of tranquillity, solitude and unmatched natural beauty. Here is where you will have access to some of the world’s most talked-about Scottish golf courses including Royal Dornoch Golf Club; the Nairn Golf Club: host to Walker and Curtis Cup competitions; and Castle Stuart Golf Links: three-time hosts to the Scottish Open.

Scottie Scheffler gets back in 'tournament mode,' shoots 69 at RBC Heritage
Change Text Size
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Scottie Scheffler gave himself some grace on Thursday. It’s been a draining few days since his Masters victory, he told himself. Just take what comes.
So when Scheffler shanked a bunker shot on the third hole, he chalked it up to a mental lapse. When he misjudged the speed on a few putts, he tried to pay it no mind.
But by the time Scheffler finished the sixth hole and sat at 1-over, he couldn’t just brush it off. “I got pretty frustrated towards the middle of the round,” he said.
See, Scheffler isn’t used to struggling on the golf course, no matter the circumstances. It was time to focus up. And so the world No. 1, who has won three of his last four starts and lost to just one golfer since March, did just that. Scheffler birdied the par-3 seventh and added late birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 to shoot 2-under 69 in the first round of the RBC Heritage. It extended his streak of consecutive rounds under par to 37.
“I feel like I had more energy now than I did at the beginning of the day waking up to go play golf, if that makes sense,” Scheffler said after the round. “I think getting into the tournament, hitting some shots, getting a bit frustrated, getting a bit excited about my finish there, all good emotions to feel. It's nice to be kind of back into tournament mode.”
Scottie Scheffler dials in approach from 133-yards at RBC Heritage
Scheffler spent the early week insisting he wouldn’t have shown up if he wasn’t trying to win. His trip to Hilton Head wasn’t ceremonial. He’s not a pomp and circumstance guy, especially with a pregnant wife back home. Thursday’s round provided ample evidence Scheffler intends to put up a good fight. Scheffler shook off some early round rust, which included the shank and a double bogey on the par-4 third. He holed a 19-foot birdie putt on the par-3 seventh to make the turn in even-par. The momentum-changer a few holes later.
After missing an 8-foot birdie on the 10th, Scheffler hit a great tee shot on the par-4 11th only to walk up to the ball and see a chunk of mud on it.
“That's a hard tee ball for me. I hit a great tee shot right up the middle of the fairway.… then I get up there and there's mud on my ball, and it's like, this is annoying,” he said.
He dumped his approach into a greenside bunker and left himself a difficult up-and-down. He holed a 16-footer from the fringe to save par.
“I was obviously frustrated with that type of break, and then to get up there and knock the putt in was a nice feeling,” he said.
Scheffler hit seven of his last eight greens to close the round. He hit it to 5 feet and made birdie on the par-4 16th and holed a 16-footer for birdie on the 17th. Rounds like Thursday seem to be Scheffler’s floor, at the moment. He’s shot above 70 only three times in his last four tournaments. By his admission, he wasn’t locked in mentally until the middle of the round. Yet, Scheffler still sits within shouting distance of the lead. As he finished, he was six shots back of J.T. Poston (8-under), but only three shots back of second. Those margins will likely shrink if Scheffler is dialed in over the final three days.
“I think sometimes that frustration from not playing my best I think kind of helps me focus sometimes,” Scheffler said. “You can use that as good energy and you can use that as bad energy, so I tried to use it as best I could for the good stuff today.”

Billy Horschel secured his place in next month’s PGA Championship with victory in the Corales Puntacana Championship.
The 37-year-old ran off four straight birdies on the front nine to get in the mix, began to pull away with an eagle on the par-five 12th hole and closed with a nine-under 63 for a two-shot victory in the Dominican Republic.
Horschel, who started the final round three shots behind, all but sealed his triumph with an 18-foot birdie putt on the 16th hole.

Wesley Bryan, trying to go wire-to-wire, was bogey-free with four birdies and still only one shot behind late in the round. But right after Horschel made his final birdie, Bryan missed a par putt from just outside two feet and fell three behind.

Bryan birdied the 18th for a 68 to finish as runner-up, which will get him into the AT&T Byron Nelson in two weeks. He was playing on a sponsor exemption. Kevin Tway shot 69 and finished third.

Horschel finished at 23 under and earned $720,000, winning for the eighth time on the PGA Tour and the first time in nearly two years. Along with earning him a PGA Championship spot, he likely will be in the next $20m signature event at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Those are the tournaments Horschel, a former FedEx Cup champion, was used to playing. The opposite-field events are seen as a chance for younger players to get their first win. In the case of Horschel, it was crucial to get some confidence back.

He delivered one of his best closing rounds when he needed it - the four straight birdies starting on the par-three second hole, a 31 on the front nine, the eagle on hole 12 to seize control and no bogeys over the last 30 holes of the tournament.
It was nearly a year ago at the Memorial that Horschel, the defending champion at Muirfield Village, shot 84 and was nearly in tears talking about how low his confidence had fallen. He missed the FedEx Cup playoffs for the first time since 2012.
He had shown signs this year with a pair of top 10s, and now has a victory for validation. Along with getting into the PGA Championship at Valhalla, he is assured of starting next year at Kapalua in The Sentry.
