kindle voyage 5.13.6 jailbreak

Going to attempt the serial approach for a G000 PP Kindle Paperwhite 4 that unfortunately was let to update to the fw 5.13.6 back in August. Since some other users seemed to also have troubles with jailbreaking the PW4 beyond FW 5.13.3, I hope this thread can be helpful.

My Kindle Voyage stopped getting updates at 5.13.6. Luckily, there is a known Kindle exploit working up to 5.14.2, so we're good here! If your Kindle firmware version is ≥ 5.14.3 you can't jailbreak it via software, only via serial port (seems fun). Since the 27th Oct 2023 there is a new jailbreak, called LanguageBreak , that works for firmware versions up to 5.16.2.1.1.

I followed mobileread thread for FW<= 5.14.2. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346037 Voyage is on 5.13.6. Followed exact same tutorial twice, but same thing happened. The screen with the message Configure Device kept showing up. I installed the hotfix.

The new 5.13.6 software update is available for all Kindle models dating back to the Kindle Voyage, expect the Kindle Paperwhite 3 still shows 5.13.5 (they've been updating it later lately so just wait a week or two and it will show up eventually).

October 24, 2021 at 6:01 AM. possibly not. There are older devices that have not been updated for 5-6 years. I'm glad my Voyage (5.13.6) didn't update to the current level of my Paperwhite (5.14.1). I prefer the earlier update and don't think the later one adds anything to my Paperwhite. Helpful ? Reply1 out of 1 found it helpful.

I can explain to anyone who wants to give it a shot since many things have changed since last guide on serial jailbreak. Edit: since I was on fw 5.13.6 I had to resort to this serial jailbreak method if you are on a firmware 5.13.3 or lower there is an option to software jailbreak.

So I see that voyage is still on 5.13.6 seems it is not getting the new UI update which is a shame. Was it ever mentioned if .6 was finally voyage update ? Archived post. The new 5.13.7 software update is available for all Kindle models dating back to the Kindle Paperwhite 3, except for some odd reason the Kindle Voyage is still stuck on 5.13.6. Sometimes they release updates later, like they did with the Paperwhite 3 a few times, so there's a good chance the Voyage will still get updated at some point too.

Kindle Voyage with 15.3.5 and the option did not appear. Updated to 15.3.6 and it wasn't showing up either. I put my Kindle in English (USA) and after restarting the option appears, I activate it, I test with purchased books and it works.
