Reservations:

Should be made as early as possible to book the desired holiday. Space on a given tour will be secured upon receipt of a deposit of 30% of the full price. ( Deposit will be 50% during the Christmas and New Year holidays and on packages including airfare.) This deposit counts as part of your final payment to confirm your reservation.

We accept a deposit as low as 30% of the total tour price and the rest can be paid in equal installments until the date of arrival or you can pay the rest in cash upon arrival.

Additionally, there are cancellation fees on all domestic flights within Egypt. If you cancel a tour at any time, you will be subject to any fees according to the airline’s cancellation policy.

Went down the Nile on the MS Moito. We were told it had been redone last year but I think that means they painted it. The bed was literally like sleeping on the floor it was so hard and the pillow was so huge and hard I ended up taking off the pillow case and putting a blanket down and covering it. The room was either freezing or stuffy. The food was OK, nothing great and by the end of the week started tasting the same. Breakfast was always good as they had someone making an omelet. Lots of bread choices. Entertainment was not much but what was done was good. I would wait to travel the Nile until a new boat is built by someone, as all the boats we had to walk through were the same, old with a new coat of paint. When we were docked, which was a lot of the time, they stacked the boats so even though we had a upper room, all we could see is the other boat. Don't spend the money on getting an upper floor, it means nothing. Also, there is NO evelvator which there were alot of older people on the boat and that should have been disclosed. Lots of water leaking on the boat, several had to move rooms and if they kept the same room, nothing was done to clean up and dry out the carpet so I would assume mold is growing. The Nile itself is amazing the farther away from Cairo you get. Its very dirty in Cairo! All in all it was a great experience though, despite the accommodations. I know Egypt is trying to rebuild tourism and that is just the price you pay during the recovery process.

Spent 4 nights cruising the Nile from Luxor to Aswan on the Royal Ruby. Very enjoyable and mostly relaxing trip. The service for the most part was good with a few minor exceptions. Food was ok but feel that more variety on a daily basis would be good as choices were similar and fairly limited and with having e meals a day it can become a bit boring. The alcohol prices aboard are fairly steep so smuggling some of your own aboard will save you a small fortune. Entertainment was ok but pretty much only the one evening so if you bore easily make sure you have something to keep you busy. We were part of a group so all the sightseeing was taken care of and was enjoyable if that is your scene. Leaving the ship in the evenings is like entering another world so have your wits about you or you will be taken as everyone is trying to make a quick buck. Discuss and settle on a price for anything you do and then dont budge when they come up with a story to get more. Boat in general needs a few fine touches and tweeks as little things are neglected such as ironing table clothes and curtains. Rooms are a decent size.

It was surreal to sail down the Nile on the Movenpick Royal Lily. Cabins are a good size and the food was great.

Took the Aswan to Luxor three night cruise. Nice cabins and wonderful staff who were friendly and helpful. Our guide Eedo was fine, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. On the down side, the internet connection was spotty, at best. We could not enjoy the view of the Nile when in port because we had other boats docked up against us leading to having to keep our curtains closed during the day. Finally, it was somewhat annoying, given that we wanted to tip people, that they were not able to break larger bills and give us smaller ones; a minor annoyance. All in all though, an exciting and wonderful adventure for us.

It's a beautiful river with so much history for it. It's certainly not the cleanest river around, and the water is a bit brown. Near the main bridges between Cairo and Giza there are some riverside areas that are decent for walking and seem pretty safe. There are also many riverside restaurants and bars, as well as riverboat type cruises.

The thing I loved about the Nile is how many cool spots there were to eat at and just enjoy being there on the water.
