Cool Cruiser

Where can I go to find my cruise history with Carnival. I may already be Platinum for all I know and I want to make sure that all my previous cruises are registered. I have a cruise coming up and there is an icon to click if you want to add a cruise, but where do you go to check on your past cruise history??

So glad you asked this ... I went in and checked my info and I found a MESS ... and I made it! So, tomorrow I will be calling to have someone hopefully fix my mess and make it all better! Whew! I had 3 different email accounts associated with my Carnival booking coming up, but only one had the past guest numbers and cruises! Sometimes, I'm just overly dumb.

Good luck to you!

I think I might know what the problem is. I changed email addresses and I think the history is in the old file because when I try to update my profile I keep getting a message that says the information I a trying to submit is already associated with another user. Guess I'll have to call Carnival on Monday and straigten it out.

I can totally relate. I've never really been overly concerned about whether I'm at a certain leval but what the heck, if I've earned a perk, I'm happy to have it. I am greatful to get to go on a cruise at all.

It is important to check cruise history, especially if you have twins or triplets. They have a computer glitch, and keep promising that it is being fixed, but it never is. My twins have had a dozen different past guest numbers between them.

Just checked our past history, our Dream trip isn't showing up on it! I'll have to call Carnival tonight to fix it, I don't want to be discreditted for future Platinum hopeful status! :)

EDIT: Seems that I was able to put my mum's past guest number through, but can't put it for the others in my family?

I have been told by Carnival IT that you are only allowed one profile per email address. I really think this is something they need to fix. A family really needs to be able to see everyones cruise history in the family.

If anyone finds out how to do this please let me know.

I find Carnival's website to be less than friendly. Part of it is that I'm more used to going to Princess's and Holland America's websites, but part is that it's not that well designed.

I managed to do the online check-in for our cruise, but for some reason my booking doesn't come up in my personal info. When I tried to add it, I received a message that said there was a problem--and it locked up the screen.

My only Carnival cruise was on the Carnivale back in the 1980s. Our travel agent was able to book us with past passenger rates using our Princess Captain's Circle info. But I'd like to get credit for having sailed on Carnival so that we can attend the past passenger party.

Does this mean I can book past guest if I have a Princess Captain's circle number? I have cruised with Princess before and would love to get past guest rate on Carnival?

Can anyone advise?

If you have any proof of being on the Carnivale you should call Carnival and fax it, like a picture of you boarding or your sail & sign card or the documents, Carnival may not have been keeping records for you that far back...

No, each cruiseline is separate. What they were referencing on past guest bookings was to book there Princess cruises, not there Carnival cruises. They only cruised on Carnival once which was back in 1980, so no other cruises for Carnival after...

They only have records back to 1990! I too sailed on the Carnivale as it was my first cruise with my parents. I had several other cruises with my parents from 1981 to 1989. I had to call Carnival to get my past cruises linked because I had a married name, a first marriage name, and a second marriage name all spanning over those years. They show me as 8 and I am looking for documentation for the 4 other cruises with my parents...but I can't find anything from back then because how many teenagers keep records? I am thinking about contacting the TA for those cruises to see if they have a file on my parents.....

When I clicked on mine there was nothing posted even though I was told last year that I had 6 previous cruises. Just did The Magic in October so that makes 7. Also, I was on The Mardi Gras but I know that the previous cruises number does not reflect that. I do have a picture of me and my three roommates on the gangplank with the Mardi Gras life preserver ring. Boy was I young!! Do you think they would let me use that picture so I can now be at number 8? We are booked on The Breeze for November so that makes 9 and I guess the magic number is 10.

When you head out on your 10th cruise, you get to be VIP.

Does this mean I can book past guest if I have a Princess Captain's circle number? I have cruised with Princess before and would love to get past guest rate on Carnival? Can anyone advise?

You should be able to get the past passenger rate as long as you have sailed on any of the Carnival Corp. brands.

I'm looking for something similar. I took a 7 day cruise in June of 1989 on a Carnival ship out of Miami. We went to Cozumel, Ocho Rios Jamaica, and ST. Thomas. But I don't remember what ship we sailed on. It was near the end of June.

Are there lists of all the cruises that happened in a particular month and year? I'm sure I could figure it out if there were a comprehensive list. This was long before I had an email account, so I doubt I'll have any record with Carnival.

You can download the ShipMate app.   It has a full list of cruises and itineraries.

VIFP Club - Carnival's Recognition Program FAQs

What is the VIFP Club? The VIFP Club stands for the Very Important Fun Person Club, Carnival’s guest recognition program. If you’re a Past Guest, the program recognises you for your continued loyalty to Carnival with increasing recognition and benefits as you cruise more and more. New to Carnival? The VIFP Club is a warm welcome to the Carnival experience and gives you access to VIFP members-only rates and promotions. How do guests enrol? If guests have cruised with Carnival before, they’re automatically enrolled. They simply activate their account at http://www.carnival.com.au/loyalty/overview.aspx . If guests are new to Carnival, they can join the program at http://www.carnival.com.au/loyalty/overview.aspx . How does the VIFP Club work? Members of the VIFP Club earn one VIFP Point for every day they’ve been at sea (aka cruise day), so 1 VIFP Point= 1 Cruise Day. There are five levels in the VIFP Club: Blue Card: First time Carnival cruise Red Card: 1 – 24 Cruise days / VIFP points Gold Card: 25 – 74 Cruise days / VIFP points Platinum Card: 75 – 199 Cruise days / VIFP points Diamond Card: 200+ Cruise days / VIFP points What are the benefits for each VIFP level? You can view all of the benefits here: http://www.carnival.com.au/loyalty/benefits.aspx What are the terms and conditions for the VIFP Club? The full terms and conditions for the VIFP Club can be found here: http://www.carnival.com.au/loyalty/termsandconditions.aspx How will Carnival know my level when I sail? Guests will receive a color-coded Sail and Sign card during each sailing, which will identify their levels in the VIFP Club. It’s recommended that all guests activate their VIFP Club membership at least eight weeks prior to their next sailing to ensure they’re recognised as a member of their correct level. How do I earn points on a cruise ending and starting in Australia? In order to earn VIFP Points for Cruises that begin and end in Australia (each an “Australian Cruise”), Members must log into their Account and request that VIFP Points be awarded for Days earned on such Australian Cruise(s). Members must review their cruise history and submit a request by clicking on “Missing a Cruise?” and provide the requested information. CCL will not automatically award VIFP Points for any Australian Cruise. I activated my account but noticed that all of my cruises were not included. How long will it take for Carnival to adjust my level? Carnival wants to ensure than all eligible cruises are captured in guests’ cruise history. It takes up to three business days after a sailing for the system to update a guest’s cruise history. If guests notice a discrepancy, they should log into their personal profile on http://www.carnival.com/loyalty/overview.aspx and submit a request form. The request form can be found at the bottom of the “Review My Cruise History” page, in the “Manage My Cruise History” tab. Carnival will review each request on an individual basis. Please be patient, the process may take 6-8 weeks to complete. Cruises beginning and ending in Australia: In order to earn VIFP Points for Cruises that begin and end in Australia (each an “Australian Cruise”), Members must log into their Account and request that VIFP Points be awarded for Days earned on such Australian Cruise(s). Members must review their cruise history and submit a request by clicking on “Missing a Cruise?” and provide the requested information. CCL will not automatically award VIFP Points for any Australian Cruise. Please note, Carnival cannot process requests over the phone. Will benefits change over time? They might someday. Therefore, Carnival Cruise Lines reserves the right to change terms/benefits at any time.

If a cruise is cut short or extended for reasons out of the guests control, how many points will the guests earn since we are basing it on the actual number of days sailed? As a gesture of goodwill we will never decrease the number of cruise days earned as a result of extenuated circumstances. In cases where an additional day is added we will increase the number of cruise days. What is the difference between Past Guest and the VIFP Club membership? Past Guest fares will continue. However, membership in the VIFP Club provides for additional valuable benefits along with special offers. If a guest is sharing a cabin with another guest in a different level (e.g. a Platinum and a Gold), how will benefits apply to the stateroom? Benefits are meant to recognise individual members and are therefore not transferable to travel companions. Can a guest bring another guest to membership functions on board? Generally, benefits requiring an invitation are designated per member. Certain events invite eligible guests to bring one additional person as space permits. Details are provided on invitations for each of the functions. Will guests automatically receive recognition/benefits or must they be requested? VIFP Club members will automatically move from one level to the next level based on their VIFP Points, and will receive the benefits of their level on each sailing. Guests graduating into a new level during a cruise will receive the benefits of the new level they are graduating into from the beginning of the cruise (e.g. those graduating to Gold on the 3rd day of a 8-day cruise will receive Gold benefits for the entire duration of their cruise). While guests are automatically eligible for their benefits, some Diamond level benefits must be requested at the time of booking (e.g. one-time benefits). How long do I have to activate my membership? Guests may activate their membership at any time, but we do encourage everyone to do it as soon as they can. Do VIFP Club members earn points when cruising with sister lines? Benefits of the VIFP Club are unique to Carnival Cruise Lines cruises. VIFP Points may be earned only when sailing on Carnival Cruise Lines. Cruises taken on Carnival Corporation’s other own cruise lines will not earn VIFP Points and VIFP Club benefits will not be offered. Which Carnival Cruise Line cruises count towards my VIFP Points? VIFP Points will be earned for all qualifying Carnival Cruise Lines cruises, starting with Carnival’s first sailing on March 9, 1972. (Non-qualifying cruises include charter cruises, non-revenue cruises, etc.) How much does it cost to become a VIFP Club member? There are no fees to join the VIFP Club, and membership never expires. Does each cruiser in a guest’s family/party/stateroom earn points and receive Club benefits? Yes, each member of the VIFP Club earns VIFP Points and will receive the benefits of their VIFP Club level. However, some benefits are age-restricted. Should everyone activate/join (all members of guests family or party)? All guests who have cruised with Carnival will be automatically enrolled. Still, each guest should individually activate their account to ensure data accuracy. For guests who haven’t sailed with Carnival yet, we recommend at least one adult within each family or party join the VIFP Club to see if you can take advantage of members-only offers or promotions that are offered from time-to-time.

My Cruise History

I've been on 50 cruises. Here are 5 things I wish I'd known before sailing in the Mediterranean.

  • I've been on 50 cruises around the world and took my first Mediterranean route last year.
  • Picking the right time of the season to go can make a big difference in your trip.
  • Before packing, I always check to see if any of the experiences I've booked have a dress code.

Insider Today

As someone who's taken over 50 cruises all over the world, I know firsthand how popular cruising is this year. But one seabound itinerary people often forget to add to their bucket lists is a Mediterranean cruise .

The dreamy ships take passengers around European destinations like Spain, France, Italy, and Greece.

After taking my first Mediterranean cruise last year, here's what I think everyone should know before booking the route.

Going early or late in the sailing season means fewer crowds and better weather.

my cruise history

Many cruise lines, like Virgin, Celebrity, and Disney, start the Mediterranean season in early spring and sail through early fall.

Going early or late in the season usually means you'll have more tolerable weather and smaller crowds in some of the big destinations like Athens .

I made the mistake of going on my Mediterranean cruise at the end of May (over Memorial Day weekend).

Some ports of call, like Nice, France, were easy to get around, but others like Rome were packed to the gills. I wanted the day to end before we even made it to the Vatican on our tour.

Arriving at your embarkation port early is key to having a smooth sailing.

my cruise history

My biggest tip for any cruise — but especially for Americans traveling to Europe for a Mediterranean cruise — is to arrive at your embarkation city at least a day before your sailing starts.

This gives you plenty of time to ensure you make it to the port, especially with the airline delays that typically spike in the summer. The boat isn't going to wait for you i f you don't land on time

Even though it means paying for lodging and likely a few meals before boarding the boat, getting a good night's sleep before a jam-packed vacation is worth it to me.

As a bonus, arriving early also gives you a chance to explore the city.

Be sure to pack at least one shirt with sleeves and bottoms that cover your knees.

my cruise history

Some of the major European tourist destinations have strict dress codes — typically everyone must at least cover their shoulders and knees out of respect.

If you're planning on checking out Vatican Ci t y in Italy or the Meteora monasteries in Greece, b e sure to pack at least one outfit that fits the bill.

Most cruise ships have laundry services (self-serve or valet), so you can wear the same dress-code-approved outfit for a few excursion days if needed.

Food tours are a great way to see a city, taste local dishes, and learn some history.

my cruise history

If you're looking for a unique excursion that still gives you the highlights of a European city, I recommend booking a food tour . I've done tours in places like Amsterdam, Budapest, and Paris, and I've never been disappointed.

Food tours can be booked through third-party travel operators, like TripAdvisor or Viator, and offer the chance to see some of the major landmarks of a city, try local dishes, and learn some history all in one outing.

The tours are usually led by locals, which means the guides can also give you some good recommendations if you have time before you need to return to the ship.

Consider booking tours through third-party sites.

my cruise history

Mediterranean cruises can last anywhere from seven days to two weeks, depending on the company and itinerary. Booking every excursion through the cruise line can add up, but luckily, there are typically more affordable options through third-party companies.

But I only book with third-party operators if the ship docks right at the city I want to explore because I never want to miss the all-aboard time.

For example, on my Mediterranean cruise last summer, the ship anchored at Cannes, and I was able to keep my eye on it throughout my excursion.

If the ship docks in a secondary location and you have to travel to the big tourist destinations , I always book excursions through the cruise line. For instance, the day my family and I explored Rome, the ship docked in Civitavecchia, Italy, and we had to take a two-hour bus ride into the city.

Booking with the cruise company guarantees your return to the ship, even if your excursion runs late.
