Metro tour – daily
Palaces for ordinary people – that was what Stalin promised to the people when the construction of the Moscow Metro began between the World Wars. The communist dictator hadn’t promised too much. No other underground system in the world can boast such spectacular architecture – chandeliers, decorations, stucco, paintings on the walls – each station is individually designed. No wonder that Moscow residents love their metro. I will guide you through the bustle of one of the busiest subways in the world and show you the most beautiful stations Moscow city has.

Tour of Communist Moscow – every day
After the Communist October Revolution in 1918, Moscow became the capital of the Soviet Empire and was the center of socialist orbit for more than 70 years. This left its mark on Moscow, even if the USSR disintegrated more than a quarter of a century ago. The city streets are full of remnants of the communist regime and the Cold War. This is a walking tour where I will show you the most exciting places in Soviet Moscow: from the notorious KGB headquarters, also known as Lubyanka to the Karl Marx Monument to small hidden remains from the time of hammer and sickle. You will also learn about Stalin’s Great Terror political campaign and the system of the GULAG and how the USSR, the communist Russian republic, became modern Russia.
Time: by arrangement, daily Duration: 2 hours Price: 21 $ Students and children: 17 $ Language: English Included in the price: the guided tour
Alternative Moscow Tour – daily
Explore the unseen Moscow with your Moscow private guide and discover a range of sights during this alternative walking tour. Away from the main tourist spots (in the central district of Kitay-Gorod), just a short walk from Red Square and St. Basil’s Cathedral, you suddenly find yourself in one of the trendiest districts of Moscow. This place not only has trendy cafes and green squares, but here you can see the most beautiful spray works (according to Albrecht Dürer), hangout-places of the youth and hipsters, as well as learn what Moscow looked like in the 19th century. Here you will also learn exciting and even bloody stories about famous gangsters, eccentric business people and legends like the wandering preacher Rasputin, who is known in Russia either as the “holy devil” or the mad monk. To learn a little more about Moscow’s culture, this is the tour for you. On my alternative tour, you will get to know Moscow away from the tourist hotspots. This tour is of 2 hours duration and you will experience the following on the tour:
- St. John’s Hill, a quiet oasis right in the center, where time has stopped as it did in pre-Communist times
- Khokhlovka Art Center, where Russian hipsters and street artists hang out
- Samoskvorechye District where you can see beautiful streets and hear stories from old Moscow

Kremlin tour – daily (closed on Thursday)
With its 20 towers and high walls, the Kremlin rises imposingly over Red Square. This world-famous fortress with its area of 28 hectares is home to over 800 years of Russian history. Described as the eighth wonder of the world, this historic fortress complex is the principal symbol of Russia that sits on the banks of the Moscow River. Today the Kremlin still harbors numerous secrets and has palaces and cathedrals, surrounded by Kremlin Wall. The current wall was constructed between the 15 th and 16 th centuries, but the original wall was made of wood around the year 1147. The Kremlin Wall became an important symbol of Moscow’s importance in the Russian Empire. This top tourist destination attracts millions of people every year and there are various sights to see. With my Kremlin tour, you will see the oldest square in the city in the heart of the Kremlin, the once largest cannon in the world and the scene of numerous dramas – from Ivan the Terrible and Napoleon to Stalin. Utopian Soviet Buildings
- The Palace of the Soviets instead of the Cathedral of the Christ the Saviour. It could have become one of the highest buildings in the world with a 100 m Lenin statue on the top.
- The eighth Stalinist skyscraper instead of the Zaryadye Park. It was supposed to be the tallest of all the Sisters.
- The Narkomtiazhprom (the People’s Commissariat of Heavy Industry) building instead of the GUM. How would the Red Square look like with three skyscrapers or gigantic staircases going all the way up to the 16th floor?
- The Palace of Labour instead of the Moskva Hotel. What was it, kind of a fantastic beast lying on the square or an ultimate Constructivist manifesto?
- The alternative Lenin’s Mausoleum, the “Leningradskaya Pravda” buildings and many others.

"A very enjoybale day in Moscow. We had a very nice and knowledgeable guide Anastasia.(Nastia) She was very passionate about the City and we learnt so much in our brief four hours walk with her! Certainly this walking tour added a lot of value to our Moscow Holiday. A great idea to educate visitors about Russia and Moscow. The group was intimate enough to ask questions and stop for snacks etc..we thoriughly enjoyed it and would highly reccomend it.Carry on doing a great job!"
"I really enjoyed the tour, it was a great experience, very informative and fun. I will definitely tell everybody about that tour, keep it it is a fantastic idea!"
"Sorry I do not remember the names :( ... They were very talkative and very into everything. I think they both really love the city, and they made me feel like this to. They knew much about History, which was very informative! Great guides!!!"
"We partook of the fantastic Petersburg Free Tour. Due to our timing during the low season (shockingly not everyone is flocking to Moscow while the average temperature is 15F), it ended up being just us and Sonia, the afore-mentioned super-guide. She quickly ascertained the limited scope of our wanderings.."

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a free walking tour work.
Free walking tours are a special kind of tours in which the price is not set. The tours are not actually free, in the sense that the price is 0. They are “free” in the sense that you can pay as much as you like. Basically, after the tour, your guide will ask you to tip him based on how much you think the tour was worth.
How much is a fair tip for the guide?
There are different kinds of tours that require different skills and have different durations. There will be people paying €50 or €5, but in general, people pay between €10 and €15 per person (or the equivalent in local currency) for a 2-3 hours tour. If your tour lasts longer, or there are just few participants, it’s advisable to pay a bit more.

On this itinerary, you’ll cross cobblestone streets and cut through back alleys to discover the beautiful mansions, elegant churches and old graveyards of Charleston’s historic center. You’ll also get a glimpse Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, whose capture by Confederates triggered the Civil War.

Seattle Market Experience
It’s considered the “soul of Seattle,” but the nine-acre Pike Place Market is much more than just a farmers market. Shop for unusual products, including Nepali imports, cigar-box guitars and clothing from Iran. Snap a photo of the original Starbucks. Applaud the waders-clad fishmongers slinging hefty salmon across the fish stalls to be weighed and boxed. Get the signature mac ’n’ cheese at Beecher’s and drizzle it with white truffle oil from the Truffle Queen, or try the Russian piroshki popularized by Anthony Bourdain. Listen to star busker Carly Ann Calbero belt out a tune that belies her petite size. And leave your mark by adding your wad to the multicolored gum wall that grows up to four inches a year.

Boston Freedom Trail
On this classic Boston tour, stroll the iconic 2.5-mile Freedom Trail’s cobblestone streets, past colonial stone houses and ancient cemeteries, while hearing tales of rebellion, war and American independence. Every step tells a story of America’s birth, including the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party, in a city where Sam Adams, Ben Franklin and George Washington once roamed. Stop at 16 sites, including the Boston Common, Old South Meeting House and Faneuil Hall.
Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
Wrap yourself in Spanish colonial ambience as you admire two landmark forts guarding the harbor: San Cristóbal and El Morro. Follow the city’s cobblestone streets past shady plazas and centuries-old chapels to the narrowest house in America — just five feet wide — and to the bar that claims to have invented the piña colada. Outside the venerated Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, which, dating to 1540, is the oldest church on U.S. soil, listen to the guitarist-singer crooning “En mi viejo San Juan,” a haunting Puerto Rican anthem about missing one’s homeland. Finally, grab a fruit-flavored limber, Puerto Rico’s answer to the popsicle, which was named for Charles Lindbergh when he landed on the island in 1928.

"Vegas has offered an opportunity to celebrate the past and celebrate the records, the No. 1s, the connection to the audience, the entertainment," Usher told USA TODAY for The Essentials series in November. "And then the Super Bowl moment offers not only that, but then a segue into the next chapter," teasing "Coming Home."

Owen Riegling Is Going on a Tour of Small Towns in Canada
The emerging mildmay, ontario country singer is forgoing big city venues to perform for free in twelve small-town bars around the country. as for bigger canadian markets, billy idol, deep purple, sean paul and more have also announced new canadian dates..
Owen Riegling
Canadian country singer Owen Riegling is buckling up for a unique summer tour. The emerging artist is honouring his small town roots — Riegling hails from Mildmay, Ontario — with free performances in 12 small-town bars across four provinces.
The term small-town is a bit loose here: several of the performances are actually in small-ish cities like Thunder Bay, Saskatoon and Sault Ste. Marie. But they're certainly in places that often get overlooked by touring acts, especially rapidly rising stars like Riegling.
Riegling was named a Spotify Artist to Watch and Amazon Music Breakthrough Artist this year, and just picked up three CMAOntario Award nominations. His single "Old Dirt Roads," an ode to small-town living, has spent eight weeks on the Canadian Hot 100.

The tour is sponsored by a certain beer brand, and accompanying the announcement is a brand new single from Riegling, "Bud Light The Way."
Riegling's Buckle Up Tour kicks off on May 6 in Fort McMurray, Alberta, and will take Riegling through Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario, concluding in Riegling's hometown of Mildmay on May 24. Each show will feature an opening performance from a local artist.
Tickets go on sale via the Buckle Up website April 12 at 10 am EST.

Burton Cummings
The Canadian musician has cancelled performing license agreements for all of his songs, which will prevent the act currently performing under The Guess Who name from playing hits like "American Woman" and "These Eyes."
Canadian musician Burton Cummings is giving up his royalties to protect his legacy.
The "American Woman" singer and co-founder of classic Winnipeg band The Guess Who has cancelled his performance license agreements, Rolling Stone reports , in an effort to prevent the current iteration of The Guess Who from performing.
The move is an escalation of a legal battle that's been ongoing since last fall, when Cummings and fellow Guess Who songwriter Randy Bachman launched a lawsuit against what they're calling a "cover band" and claiming they're engaging in false advertising, attempting to juice concert sales by giving the impression that Cummings and Bachman are still part of the band. This iteration of the band owns the Guess Who trademark, and features original drummer Garry Peterson.
While that lawsuit is still ongoing, Cummings is taking a new approach to halting the alleged cover band's activity. The vast majority of concert venues in the U.S. have licensing agreements with performing rights organizations (PROs) which allow them to host live performances of any music in the catalogue of those PROs. Cummings has spent the last several months cancelling his agreements with those PROs, so that his music is no longer licensed for performance in live venues — a move Cummings can only make because he owns his publishing rights.
The move is drastic and relatively unheard of, as it will cause Cummings to forfeit potential royalties. He'll lose out on payments not just for live performances, but for radio spins, TV placements, shopping mall playlists, and more. The loss applies not just to recordings Cummings played on, but recordings of any songs he wrote, which includes Lenny Kravitz's popular cover of The Guess Who's "American Woman."
Cummings says it's a sacrifice worth making.
“I’m willing to do anything to stop the fake band," he told Rolling Stone. “They’re not the people who made these records and they shouldn’t act like they did."
While Peterson and original bassist Jim Kale are credited alongside Cummings and Bachman as writers on "American Woman" — the band's only Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 — Cummings and Bachman were The Guess Who's primary songwriting team. They are the sole writers credited on such popular songs as "These Eyes," "Laughing" and "No Time."
Kale took ownership of the band's trademark in 1986. He toured under the name, with Peterson joining several years later. Kale retired in 2016, and the alleged "cover band" continues on, with Peterson the last remaining original member, though Bachman and Cummings allege he performs only intermittently.
Since Cummings terminated his licenses, The Guess Who have already cancelled five concert dates in Florida and Alabama.
“This is about way more than just money, I wouldn’t have pulled the catalog if it wasn’t,” Cummings explains. “This is about the legacy of the songs and the fact that the cover band is doing anything they can to erase me and Bachman from the history of the group. I see advertisements for their shows, and it’s me singing ‘American Woman.’"
Cummings is also claiming the band has threatened to sue him if he says he was a member of The Guess Who.
“You know how ridiculous this is?" Cummings asks. "What next, can I not say I was born and raised in Winnipeg? That I’m Canadian?”
For his part, Cummings is still actively performing and touring. He'll participate in a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot at Toronto's Massey Hall on May 23 , before heading out on a series of North American dates this summer. "Burton Cummings, of the original Guess Who," reads the tour poster.
