Great tour; had a wonderful night; would recommend and would definitely go back again

Zero stars! We booked our trip in January, and it's April. We have been waiting for our tour guide to pick us up for an hour. No one answers the phone, no one emailed me back, no one has called. Their website claim "best of", but I am thinking worst might fit. Now that I have left a bad review, is anyone going to call?

I am so thankful I found Oahu Private Tours. The best part of Oahu Private Tours is the fact they are small and give personal attention from start to finish. They made a change at the end of the tour that made the whole vacation very special for my wife. After booking on-line for the "private adventure tour" we were contacted by the owner Jason. He confirmed what we had booked, snorkeling and a hike to a waterfall, and gave us additional information on what to expect. I contacted Jason a day later letting him know we had already spent a day snorkeling and was wandering if we could do something else. Without hesitation he mentioned a couple other ideals and made the changes. We were picked up (on time) at our hotel by Arielle, our tour guide. She was awesome! We asked if we could swing by a coffee shop due to waking up late. She took us to a local coffee shop and not one of the "big chain stores". On the drive to the hike to the water fall Arielle took the time to find out a little about all four of us and gave us a little history of the island. The hike to the water fall was beautiful. We did not see one other person on our hike in. At the water fall there was only a couple other people. We spent some time swimming and taking pictures.  Then she had us climb along the side of the water fall to a second level. No one was at this water fall.  It was our own little provide oasis. For lunch Arielle took us to another little local place that was amazing. Not a place any large group tour could go to. During lunch my wife mentioned we had come to the island with friends 15 years ago. They took us to a place that had tide pools. It was one of the best memories she had of the island. We knew the general location but not how to get there. Arielle contacted Jason and ask if he knew of the pools. Jason seems to know ever inch if the island and gave her exact location through a text. It was not the easiest place to get to, but Ariel did it. It brought back memories for me and my wife that we are forever grateful for. I can not thank Jason, Arielle and Oahu Private Tours enough for going above a beyond any other tour we have ever been on.

We are so thrilled with our day and guide Justin! He was so accommodating, knowledgeable, welcoming, and personable. He picked us up in a very new and sparkling clean minivan that was large and comfortable. He first took us to get Portuguese donuts at a food truck and they were wonderful. Then he took us to a coffee farm as we all mentioned we liked coffee. We then went to snorkel at Shark's cove and he provided the mask and snorkel. He was kind enough to hold on to our valuables while we snorkeled and gave us instructions on where to go. When we got out of the water he handed us our towels which was so kind of him (little things go a long way). Afterwards we went on a small walk to Waimea Falls which was beautiful and he took lots of photos for us. While on the walk he was extremely knowledgeable about the plants and former Hawaiian royalty. Then we got to go to Waimea Bay. Finally, he took us to a food truck lot where there were several different types of food trucks and we ate there. He was kind enough to extend our tour an hour as we had gotten stuck in traffic earlier. We are a quiet group but he was very interactive and kept talking to us which I appreciate. His amount of knowledge was impressive as he had answers to all our questions and informed us of things we were passing on the regular. He also was extremely kind to any service person (food truck workers/ ticket sellers /etc) we came into contact with which speaks a lot about his energy and personality. He always referred to us as friends and family which was so welcoming. Justin was undoubtedly the greatest guide we have ever had and we would recommend him to anyone coming to Oahu! Thank you Justin!

Waimea Falls walk

If you do ONE thing on your Hawaiian vacation, make it Oahu Private Tours. Seriously, we did more unbelievable things in our eight hours together than I did during the other eight days I was here. I found OHP on Instagram, where I fell in love with their vibes. (If you haven't seen their 'gram, you should check it out, it's gorgeous and gives you a great idea of the types of experiences they offer). I had a day to kill on Oahu by myself and knew I wanted to "see the island," but wasn't really sure what that meant. I knew I didn't want to be one of 80 people on a giant tour bus, or even one of 12 people in a minibus, or heck, even one of 6 people in a van! I had one day and I wanted to do it my way. I appreciated that the team was very communicative leading up to my trip (answered emails promptly, checked in a few days before with more details, etc). The night before, my guide (Jason) asked me if we could start a bit early, 7am. I said sure, and I'm really glad I trusted his suggestion - the early start helped us get to attractions before small parking lots filled or before beaches got crowded, so the whole day it was like every place we visited was on a private island we had all to ourselves. Jason was friendly, easy going, and super fun. I was on the tour by myself, but there was never an awkward pause- it was like we were old friends from the moment he picked me up. He was incredibly flexible all day. For example, I hadn't had time for breakfast, so he took me to a cool local spot for coffee and hot malasadas (basically just extra crispy perfect donuts - mine was rolled in cinnamon sugar with filled with coconut cream). Over breakfast, we made a plan based on what I'd already done on the island and what I hoped to do, and set off for the North Shore. Our first stop was cliff jumping. The beach was gorgeous: completely empty, with gold sand, black rocks, and light green water. Jason led to the spot and gave me instructions. It was scary, but awesome! He was also a spectacular photographer, capturing amazing portraits, action shots, and enviable Instagram pics. We were going to head to a waterfall, but I was really enjoying floating in the water on the empty beach."You're lovin' the water? No problem, let's find more water!" And just like that, on a whim, our plans shifted. We hit a gorgeous beach with shallow water, and got to enjoy the sand and sun. I splashed around, enjoyed the rays, and relaxed before the next adventure. Next was snorkeling. Jason knew exactly how to get through the waves ("ready? we wait for this set to finish, then we go") and swim between the black and tan rocks out to the deep cove. It was full of fish and much less crowded than my last snorkeling destination. Our last stop was a highlight: swimming with TURTLES! Probably the most memorable thing I've ever done. It was incredible, swimming alongside these graceful, giant creatures in their natural habitat. Finally, the day ended with a stop at an AMAZING local taco stand. The whole day was incredible. I hope you get to experience OHP, I can't recommend it highly enough!

We had a super laid back and amazing tour today with a great guide Kenny! We started off with warm Hawaiian/Portuguese Custard Donuts and then a local coffee plantation stop to pick up some coffee. Afterwards, we were off to the North Shore to see a couple awesome beaches including the Pipeline. He took us to an ancient temple site with a great view and then off to a hike to a waterfall with a small spot for canonballs. We then concluded our day at a good ramen joint. Kenny recently completed his Bachelor's degree and was a wealth of information. To me, as a small business owner, his hospitality and ownership mentality was evident and inspiring. You can tell that he truly loves his job and people as well. We could not have enjoyed our day more! Memories were made and it was magical. After a couple days in Waikiki it was nice to get out into the countryside. Mahalo!

We did two tours with Justin, had a great time and learned a lot about Oahu. First we did the south side of the island, and then the north side of the is. and. We learned about the history of Oahu, and talked about the future of Oahu. Talked about the different birds that live on Oahu. The tour provided transportation, towels, and snorkel equipment (but we did bring our own towels and snorkel equipment). We ate some really good local food and had some Hawaiian coffee. One highlight was a hidden lava tube that we climbed through and had a great view. I think this lava tube was kind of a secret destination, because there were a lot of people in the area, but we were alone for this view. Both days we went past the end time as Justin wasn't a clock watcher, so we appreciated that. I would recommend OPT if you're visiting Oahu.

I researched and found OPT on Tripadvisor. We booked our North Shore tour with Jason before arriving on the island. He was wonderful with communicating via email and phone. There were 7 of us and their van fits 6 people. Jason had his tour guide bring his wife's personal van so we can all be together. A private tour with Oahu Private Tours is so much better than a bus tour where you're stuck with so many other people and on a schedule. OPT tailors the tour to your group, your likes and dislikes and if you're enjoying the activity you can stay longer (and vice versa). Jason is a rare, one of a kind business owner who doesn't just care about making money. He cares very much about his customers and their satisfaction!! He runs a top of the line private tour company and I'm sure that's why he is the #1 private tour company on tripadvisor. You can't go wrong booking your tour with Oahu Private Tours!

My husband and I took the Circle Island Tour with KC as our guide. We had a great day - stopping at places we were interested in, following KC's lead on places we should see, and moving at the pace that was right for us. KC was very knowledgeable regarding the island and all of our stops. She had great suggestions for lunch and snacks too. Great way to explore the island!

We had a fantastic day on the Circle Island tour. We requested to stay away from the big crowds and spent more time near the North Shore. It was such a great way to see the island for the first time. Our guide Nikki was fantastic! She showed us spots that I know we would have never gotten to see otherwise. She was so patient when I basically had a panic attack at the beginning of our snorkel experience....I did get over it and had a wonderful time! Even saw a sea turtle! I highly recommend!

Great Tour of the North Shore with the Energetic Jason!

While here in Honolulu we took a private tour with the very energetic Jason. His company is called OAHU PRIVATE TOURS (oahuprivatetours.com or call 1888.420.6248. or email him at [email protected]). Of all of our tours whether through NCL or booked privately I thought his tour was great. Don’t expect a spotless van though. The landscape is red volcanic ash and therefore his van reflects that! He took us for LEONARD’S Malasadas (the absolute best “donuts” I have ever had… they are not really donuts but rather these round zeppole-like deliciously filled dough). Green World Coffee Farm, a few beaches…Kawela Cove, a fruit stand, sea cliffs, Macadamia Nut farm and other places. It was basically the North Shore of Oahu. We ate at a roadside food truck called BIG WAVE. Excellent, however, there is the original ROY’S food truck stop that even though we did not make it due to timing I might suggest that since it is more “famous”. I was told it is also less expensive than the establishment in Honolulu and even better. This was at least a 6 hour excursion and was $375 total for 4 people (we gave a bit extra). Jason narrates as we drive along and answers all questions we had. Well worth it!

Our guide Lucas picked us up from our hotel...my kids took to him right away. We did the coffee shop, fruit stands, beautifully beaches, and delicious food trucks. I doubt we would have found many of these gems on our own It was a super fun day!

On Tuesday, February 12 we met Lucas at our hotel for a circle island tour. He arrived on time and we immediately knew we in for a great day. As we left Waikiki, Lucas asked we were hungry. Next stop was Leonards for Malasadas. They were beyond description. Next was a coffee plantation. Lucas asked where else we wanted to go and we replied he was 2 for 2 so far and wanted to see what he thought we should see. We headed north and stopped at the ruins of an ancient temple (which we would never have found), a fruit stand (amazing food and somewhere we would not have known to visit), a point on the extreme northeast of the island that a highlight of our trip but that again, we would never have found. Our day continued with stops at Pipeline Beach, Sunset Beach and Waimea Beach. Then the highlight was our stop at Big Wave Shrimp Truck. This was some of the best shrimp I have ever had. Then we went next store for shave ice at Kaimana Shave Ice. He uses real fruit, not syrop. Very good. We some more of the scenery and drove back to Waikiki. Lucas followed up with excellent suggestions for Taco Tuesday and other things to do during our stay. It was so great to spend the day with someone who knew the island but was super enthusiastic, informative and generous. Lucas made our day and our trip. I would highly recommend Oahu Private Tours to anyone visiting Oahu. Although I am sure each of their guides are excellent, I would recommend Lucas! As well, Jason was great to deal with in the booking process. Right up to or tour day, he stated in touch, answered any and all questions and was true professional.

This is the way to do it. We had an amazing tour with OPT. it was a rainy day, however our guide made everything possible for us to experience the north shore, thru traffic we enjoyed Leonard’s malasadas & coffee from green world farms, picturesque sights & sounds in the Waimea valley, banzai pipeline,& Laie point. Stopped by kahuku fruit stand for fresh coconut juice, guava, Chico. A bonus was getting to see a paddle board competition in sunset beach. My son still kept raving about how down to earth & informative Kat was, our guide, telling us about stories regarding certain sights like the Mo’o of Laie, the prayer site in Waimea, etc. By lunch time we were rewarded with clear skies to nosh on garlic shrimp from Big Wave in Hale’iwa, Dole whip from the pineapple plantation. Kat gave suggestions to my queries on places to check out if we still have time while staying in Oahu.

We (group of six) went on the Circle Island Tour--with some slight modification. Kelsey was our guide and we had an informative and laughter-filled day. Plus seeing some spectacular scenery along the way! And eating some great food at the fruit farm--and the shrimp trucks--and Leonard's for malasadas. Kelsey was very personable and did a great job getting us around the island. We also had a few email exchanges with Jason, the owner, as we wanted to modify our tour a bit. He was prompt and helpful. Pearl Harbor is a bucket list experience for many travelers visiting Oahu. And while it is possible to see on your own, going with a guide can provide so much more insight into the events of the attack and the significance it had on WWII. 

This full-day Private Tour of Pearl Harbor includes transportation and admission to ALL the Pearl Harbor Museums, including the USS Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin submarine, USS Missouri battleship, and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. As you set sail on a custom-built double-hulled canoe, you’ll get to hear Hawaiian stories, history, and ukulele music while singing while you sail along Oahu’s stunning Kona (leeward) coastline.

Discover Beautiful Landmark Sites & Hidden Locations On A Private Oahu Tour

Theresa was our guide for a private tour of Pearl Harbor and the Missouri. I chose a private tour because of my two kiddos and she did not disappoint! Theresa was amazing, she even got in the line at the book store for me when I mentioned I wasn't sure if we'd have time to get books for sister. My girls like her so much that my oldest huged her at the end....my oldest does not hug anyone!! Theresa gave us several other recommendations of places to go including a beach on the North Shore where my girls got to see TURTLES 🐢, which were at the top of the "must list" for Hawaii. We will be using her on any future trips!

We are grandparents traveling with a 5 year old. Yesterday Conner treated us to a fantastic day on the North Shore. We hit all of the highlights, Turtle Beach, Sunset Beach, Shrimp truck, Matsumoto Shave Ice plus Dole and Macadamia plantations. Conner set our itinerary perfectly including the timing. He was kind and very knowledgeable. Lots of shopping and great stories about Hawaii. We highly recommend!

I loved my island tour with Blue Hawaii Tours! Our guide Jenny was full of interesting information about the island and we were able to see a lot of the island in the full day tour. From honolulu up the coast line of the windward side, north shore, and mountainous areas. Food truck stop at the north shore. Jenny was adaptable to the groups interests whether it be beach or waterfalls or malasadas to poke and garlic shrimp, there is something for everyone on this tour. Highly recommend!

Jason Nau organized a private day tour for our extended family of 12 to see and experience the North Shore. While he was easy to communicate with before arriving on the island, Jason's skill and expertise were clearly evident from the moment we met. Amazing experience. Jason is the best tour guide I have ever had. He went above and beyond to make our experience truly memorable. Not recommended

I would strongly not recommend doing this tour. Horrible food and our plus added to pick up and drop off that was painful. Would’ve been better off getting an Uber both ways.

The sprawling, mind-boggling metropolis of Russian Moscow has long been one of the theatrical stages on which the great dramas of Europe and Asia have been played out in grand style. Burned by Napoleon in 1812, immortalised by Tolstoy, utilised by the Bolsheviks and championed as a bastion of heroic defiance by the post-war communists, it’s almost hard to believe just how defining the historical events that found their home on Moscow’s streets have been.
