Princess cruise wine price 2023 + wine list + wine tastings on a Princess cruise ship
There is wine you can order on a Princess cruise ship!
The price of the cheapest wine on a Princess cruise ship is mostly around $10 to $12 for a glass of wine, plus tip.
You can order wine by the glass or you can order wine by the bottle.
There is a long list of wine that you can order on the cruise ship.
Wine offerings and prices subject to change!
There may be more wine available if you ask a bartender… or a cruise ship wine sommelier.
Below is the selection of wine that was available to order for delivery around the cruise ship, which means that you can also order it in person anywhere around the cruise ship that you see a waiter, like on the lido deck.
These are screenshots taken from the Princess app while on a Princess cruise in September 2023.
There are also wine tasting activities available on Princess cruise ships, for a fee.
So if that’s something that interests you, then look for it on the daily schedule of activities once you’re on the cruise ship!
What wine is included in a Princess plus package or Princess premier package?
If you have a Princess plus package or a Princess premier package, then a drinks package is a part of that.
So if you have a Princess package, if you order wine by the glass, then almost all wine is included.
If you have a Princess package and you want to order a bottle of wine, then you will get 25% off on the bottle of wine.
Wine with the Princess plus package
If you have a Princess plus package, you get the Princess Plus drinks package .
The Princess Plus drinks package includes glasses of wine under $15.
There are many wines under $15, so if you don’t want to pay extra for your wine, you can find wine that is included in the Princess plus package.
Princess says there are 25 wines that you can choose from to get wine for free if you have the Princess plus package.
If you do want a glass of wine that’s over $15, then you will pay for the price of the wine, less $15.
For example, let’s say that you see the wine of your choice is $19.
If you have the Princess Plus package and want that glass of wine, you will pay $4 for it, since $19 is $4 over $15.
Wine with the Princess premier package
If you have a Princess premier package, you get the Princess Premier drinks package .
The Princess Premier drinks package includes glasses of wine under $20.
Almost all glasses of wine are under $20, although there are a few that are over $20.
This means that most wine by the glass is included in the Princess premier package!
Princess says there are over 40 different wines that you can choose from to get wine for free if you have the Princess plus package.
👆 Glasses of wine up to $20 each are included in the Princess premier package.
Room service and wine delivery on a Princess cruise ship through the Princess app
In addition to ordering your wine in person from a bartender or waiter, you can also order your wine to be brought to you through room service, and anywhere on the cruise ship, for a one-time fee for the whole cruise.
Once you are on the cruise ship, you will open up the Princess app, and then look for “order.”
Then, you can select “beverages” and then the category of wine you would like.
Then, order the specific wine you would like!
If you order a bottle of wine, you can specify how many glasses you would like delivered to you.
You might have to scroll to see this option.

How to see the dining room wine list on the Princess app
On the Princess app, you’ll look for the dining option.
Then, “explore dining options”!
Select any main dining room (the menus should be all the same), and then look for the small “view menu.”
Then, scroll until you see the wine section!
This is also how you can see the dining room dinner menu , along with the breakfast menu and lunch menu, if you select a dining room with those meals available.
Dinner is available in every main dining room every day. Breakfast is available every day but not all dining rooms will serve breakfast. Lunch is available on sea days, but not all dining rooms will serve lunch. The easiest way to know which dining rooms serve which meals is to look at the daily schedule of activities that will be delivered to your stateroom every evening. The dining room hours are listed on the back.
This dining room menu feature will only work once you are on the cruise ship.
Wine tastings on a Princess cruise ship
There are wine tastings on a Princess cruise ship.
This is for an added fee.
If you are interested in attending a wine tasting, then be sure to look for it on the daily schedule of activities !
Once you are on the cruise ship, every evening you will receive a paper copy of the schedule of activities for the next day.
There also might be more onboard activities offered, so you will also want to look through the activities schedule on the Princess app, called journeyview!

Ultimate Guide to Princess Cruises Drinks Prices & Menus
In this post you’ll find the Princess Cruises drinks menus and prices , correct as of 2022. Is a drinks package worth it? Making a decision about purchasing a drinks package can be difficult, so this post is designed to help you.
I was fortunate to sail on Sky Princess in August 2021 and April 2022. I took photos of the Princess Cruises drinks menus with prices whilst onboard to help you to plan your budget.
Princess Cruises Drinks Guide
On Princess, drinks can be purchased individually or with a drinks package. Princess Cruises drinks packages can be purchased in advance or within the first two days of getting onboard. If you decide to wait until you get onboard, the beverage package price is added to your onboard account and paid at the end of your cruise.
Take a look at my Complete Guide the Princess Cruises Drinks Packages 2022
There are no advantages to waiting until you get on your cruise to buy the drinks package. The price is the same whether you purchase in advance or on embarkation day.
Instead of a beverage package, you may want to consider Princess Plus or Princess Premier. In almost all cases, Princess Plus offers the best value to cruisers as it includes a drinks package along with WiFi and crew gratuities/incentives.
Take a look at my guide to Princess Plus to find out when it might not be the best choice.
Princess Premier is a new package that has been introduced in 2022 so I’d recommend taking a look at my breakdown of what’s included in the Princess Premier Package to see if it’s worth it.
This Princess Cruises drinks guide provides you with the individual prices, sourced from bar menus onboard. Although these prices are from Sky Princess, the prices seem to be the same across all Princess Cruises’ ships.
The Plus Beverage Package includes all drinks up to $12, the Premier Beverage Package includes all drinks up to $18. all alcoholic drinks by the glass
If you choose a drink that is greater than the beverage package limit, you must pay the individual drink’s price in full (new change to package rules).
Beer on Princess Cruises
There’s only one non-alcoholic lager available – Heineken 0.0 at $5.50.
Princess Cruises Drinks Menu: Ciders
There are only two ciders available on Princess ships. There are no berry fruit ciders at present on any of the menus.
White Wine List on Princess Cruises
Most of the wine on Princess Cruises can be purchased from the bars by the glass or by the bottle. If you have the Plus or Premier Beverage Packages, wine by the glass is included but you can only get a 25% discount when buying a bottle.
Princess Cruises Drinks Menu: Red Wine List
The best place to enjoy wine on Princess ships is at Vines Wine Bar, usually located on Deck 5 of the Piazza. Here you have access to wines you cannot find anywhere else on the ship.
Red wine prices range from $9 to $21 per glass.
Princess Wine List: Rose Wine
Wine flights from vines wine bar.
If you like to taste a range of different wines, wine flights are available from Vines Wine Bar in the Piazza. Wine flights are not part of the exclusions from the beverage packages are therefore are included in the Plus Package (up to $12) and Premier Package (up to $18).
The Norman Love Wine Flight pairs wine with chocolate for those who love both!
Champagne and Sparkling Wines
Champagne Cocktails
In certain bars you will be able to order Champagne cocktails. It’s more likely the inside bars will do these such as Take Five, Bellini’s and Vines.
Remember, the Plus Beverage Package covers drinks up to $12 and the Premier Beverage Package covers drinks up to $18.
Exclusive to Bellini’s Bar

Different venues around the ship will offer signature cocktails and therefore not every bar offers the same menu but there are classic cocktails you can get pretty much everywhere.

Princess Cruises Martini List
The widest selection of martinis can be found in the Crown Grill Bar, Take Five and Crooners.
Mocktails on Princess Cruises
The Princess Cruises drinks list is limited but it’s worth asking the bar staff if you can make a cocktail alcohol free e.g. Virgin Pina Colada, Virgin Bloody Mary.
Mocktails are included in the following beverage packages:
- Premier Beverage Package ($79.99 USD pppd incl. 18% gratuities)
- Plus Beverage Package ($70.79 USD pppd incl. 18% gratuities)
- Premier Coffee and Soda Package ($23.59 USD pppd incl. 18% gratuities)
- Classic Soda Package ($11.79 USD pppd incl. 18% gratuities)

The Plus Beverage Package includes all drinks up to $12, the Premier Beverage Package includes all drinks up to $18.
If you choose a drink that is greater than the drinks package limit, you simply pay the difference.
The sodas onboard Princess ships are fountain or cans. Fountain sodas are included in the following beverages packages:
If you have one of these packages, cans of soda are not included but you can get a 25% discount on them.
Bottled Water
Bottled water may or may not be included in your drinks package depending on the size of bottle and the package you have.
A 500ml bottle of natural spring water is included in the Premier and Plus Beverage Packages but is not included in the non-alcoholic beverage packages (a 25% discount is included).
If you choose the Plus or Premier Beverage Package you have a 25% discount on 1 litre bottles of natural spring water.
Coffee and Tea Prices on Princess Cruises
The biggest selection of coffee and tea can be found at the International Cafe in the Piazza. There is a small choice of coffee and tea in the buffet.
These can be ordered in small or large sizes.
Final Thoughts on Princess Cruises Drinks
These Princess Cruises drinks menus and prices , will hopefully give you a useful way to calculate whether a drinks package is needed.
The majority of the drinks are covered in the Plus Beverage Package and the cheapest option is purchase the Princess Plus add-on package , which includes drinks up to $12, unlimited WiFi and crew appreciation (tips) for $50 / £40 per person per day.
If you don’t plan to drink more than 5 or 6 alcoholic drinks a day you may be better off paying for drinks individually – it all depends on what you like to drink.

Princess Cruises expands wine list
Princess Cruises has announced a new wine list across the fleet.
The list, which took a year to develop, now includes more than 140 choices from across the globe.
Two-thirds of the bottles are under £40 and one-third under £30.
Wine expert Doug Frost, who helped with the final selection, said: “Princess Cruises’ guests have a passion for culinary travel so our goal in creating this new wine menu was to find fascinating wines from some of the memorable destinations Princess visits.
“This way guests can return from shore and still experience local tastes with exciting wines at all prices. Plus, what better way to celebrate any occasion than with a special bottle of wine that can be shared with friends and loved ones on a cruise.”
The complete wine list can be found here .
Princess has also updated its cocktail and beer menus with 20 new spirits, 17 international and craft beers and 39 new wines by the glass.

The NEW Princess Beverage Packages with Updated Bar Menus
by Prof. Cruise · Published August 1, 2022 · Updated August 26, 2022
Today’s post is brought to you by the letter P. Don’t worry, it’s not about my notoriously small bladder (as anyone who’s ever shared a cruise cabin with me and been awoken four times during the night can attest). That’s a different kind of pee. No, it’s about Princess’s newly expanded selection of drink packages: Princess Plus and Princess Premier. See, lots of “P’s,” right? And with the recent addition of “Princess Premier” came new bar menus, so I’ve thrown on as many of those as I’ve been able to track down (I’ll continue to add more as I find them, so check back).
I’ll also mention Princess’s two all-inclusive packages, also called “Princess Plus” and “Princess Premier,” just to maximize the P’s and further confuse you. So, without further TMI’s, here’s the 411 on the current Princess beverage packages…
Princess Drink Packages: Princess Plus vs. Princess Premier
Princess Plus Beverage Package Includes:
Princess Premier Beverage Packages Includes:
- Beverages up to $12 each*
- Cocktails, wine by the glass, beer, specialty coffees, fountain soda, water (500ml only), juices, mocktails
- 25% discount on wine bottles
- 25% discount on large bottles of water and cans of soda
- Beverages up to $18 each**
- All beverages included in the “Plus” package
- Top shelf spirits, reserve wines by the glass
- Premier wines by the glass including Cloudy Bat, Stag’s Leap, Grgich Hills, and Cattier Champagne
- Private Woodford Reserve Bourbon Selection
- Personalized Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Single Barrel Select
Stand alone cost: $59.99 per person, per day + 18% service charge (so, $70.79 total)
Stand alone cost: $79.99 per person, per day + 18 % service charge (so, $94.39 total)
* For beverages priced above $12, guests with the Princess Plus beverage package will only have to pay the amount above $12. So if a beverage is priced at $16, they would only pay $4.
** For beverages priced above $18, guests with the Princess Premier beverage package will only have to pay the amount above $18. So if a beverage is priced at $20, they would only pay $2.
Princess Coffee & Soda Package
Princess also offers a beverage package that includes all non-alcoholic drinks. Here are the details:

And for those who don’t drink coffee OR alcohol (this one is good for kids), Princess offers the Classic Soda Package:
Updated Princess Drink Menus
If you’ve sailed on Princess over the past few weeks, you’ve likely noticed some changes to the bar menus, mostly to the wine sections, with a separate listing on some menus for those wines available with “Princess Plus” and “Princess Premier.” These menus are a little confusing as ALL wines are available with both packages, you’ll just pay the difference above $12 if you have Princess Plus and order from the Princess Premier menu. Here are the updated menus with some notes on what’s different:
New Casino Bar Menu on Princess
New Crooner’s Bar Menu on Princess
Note that the wine list highlights those included in the “Princess Plus” package and those in the “Princess Premier” package and that only generic wines (with no hint as to the vineyard, location, or year) are listed under the “Princess Plus” package. Those with the “Plus” package can still order off the “Premier” list, but will have to pay the difference in cost above $12.
New Crown Grill Bar Menu on Princess
New Explorer’s Lounge Bar Menu on Princess
Note that the wine list highlights those included in the “Princess Plus” package and those in the “Princess Premier” package and that only generic wines (with no hint as to the vineyard, location, or year) are listed under the “Princess Plus” package. Spirits are also listed separately under “Princess Plus” and Princess Premier.” Those with the “Plus” package can still order off the “Premier” list, but will have to pay the difference in cost above $12.
New Grounds/International Cafe Menu on Princess
All specialty coffees are included in both the “Princess Plus” and “Princess Premier” packages.
New Good Spirits at Sea Bar Menu on Princess
New Main Dining Room Wine List for the “Plus Package” and the “Premier Package”
New Sabatini’s Bar Menu on Princess

Common Questions about the Princess Drink Packages Answered
Q: Is there a limit to the number of alcoholic beverages I can order in a day?
Q: How do bartenders/waiters know I have a beverage package?
It will be communicated to them through your OceanMedallian and you will be appropriately charged based on the package you have purchased.
Q: Do I need to tip if I have a Princess Plus or Princess Premier beverage package?
You will be required to pay an 18% service charge when you purchase the package. You are not required or expected to tip on top of that. However, you’re welcome to offer bartenders and waiters an additional cash tip at your discretion.
Q: Will I have to pay tax on drinks if I have a Princess Plus or Princess Premier beverage package?
While docked at some ports you will have to pay tax on the retail price of drinks covered under your beverage package.
Princess All-Inclusive Packages: Princess Plus and Princess Premier
With more and more cruise lines jumping on the “all inclusive” bandwagon (not that a cruise ship can jump or fit on a wagon – I need a better idiom), Princess introduced the “Princess Plus” and more recently, “Princess Premier” cruise packages that include more than just a beverage package. Because most will elect to purchase one of these all-inclusive packages instead of just a beverage package on it’s own (which would actually cost you more than the all-inclusive option), here’s a description of what they include and the cost per person, per day:
$50 per person, per day
$75 per person, per day, princess standard.
If you’re the kind of cruiser who sails as cheaply as possible so you can sail as often as possible (you’re in VERY good company with yours truly), you can still opt for traditional pricing which Princess now calls, “Princess Standard:”
And with that…
Class Dismissed.

Today’s Cruising Pro Tip: Don’t buy travel insurance through your cruise line
Never purchase travel insurance through your cruise line. It will be more expensive and cover less than plans you can buy on your own. That said, I ALWAYS recommend you buy travel insurance for your cruise. I recommend purchasing insurance through a site like travelinsurance.com where you can compare plans in terms of coverage and cost and get exactly what you want at the best price. Also check with your credit card company. Many cards include free travel insurance (although it doesn’t usually cover very much).

Thank you for providing such useful information. Love your articles!!!
Thank you for putting this compilation of menus together! It helps a great deal to determine what is still included with the Princess Plus package. If you happen to come across a SeaView Bar menu, that is the only venue I know that lists the “Pear to Flare” drink which is one of my favorites. Thank You!
This was so useful thanks as I have been trying to figure out most cost effective package for me for ages! One question – if I travel Princess Standard & don’t buy a drinks package either, do I simply pay the price on the menu for each drink or is there service or tax added on top? Example is a pina colada going to cost me $8.75 or more than that?
They also add 18% gratuity to the cost.
As Holley mentioned, you’ll pay an 18% gratuity on top of that. You will also pay tax in certain ports (Alaska and Hawaii ports, for example).
No mention of VINES. I believe the 18% gratuity is included in the price of both Plus and Premier.

Cheers! Princess Cruises Earns 15 Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence, Sweeping the Cruise Category for 2023
Main dining rooms across the fleet of 15 cruise ships recognized among select restaurants for well-curated wine lists.
By downloading this image you agree to the Princess asset use terms and conditions
Raise a glass with Princess Cruises for its wine program! All main dining rooms across the fleet of 15 ships have once again been honored with an Award of Excellence in Wine Spectator’s 2023 Restaurant Awards, more than any other cruise line. Each Princess ship is recognized for its wine lists that pair well with the menu, offering a well-rounded culinary experience.
Wine Spectator , the world’s leading authority on wine, began its awards program in 1981 to recognize the world’s best wine lists. There are three levels: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award. This year, 2,001 restaurants achieved the Award of Excellence, given to restaurants with 90 wine selections or more that also match the cuisine in both style and pricing.
Princess’ carefully curated wine list includes more than 250 labels. Each major varietal and wine-growing region is represented, letting guests taste the best from around the world. The Princess beverage team designed a wine philosophy that centers on exploration, discovery and enrichment.
“Receiving this highly regarded recognition from Wine Spectator once again reaffirms our commitment to curate a collection of wines that encompass noteworthy, exceptional and familiar varietals to explore,” said Sami Kohen, vice president of food and beverage for Princess Cruises. “We believe we offer the most extensive wine list in the industry that reflects our guests’ shared passion for travel and celebrating with wines from many of the destinations we visit.”
Available in the main dining rooms fleetwide, the wine menu is approachable with various price points and descriptions to make it easy for occasional wine drinkers and aficionados alike to sip. Wines from around the world including from New Zealand, Argentina, Italy and even China are featured. In addition, Princess celebrates women winemakers with a special list, identifies biodynamic, organic, vegan and sustainable wines, and offers many selections by the glass. Descriptions call out wines as “refreshing,” “light and mild,” “fruity and vibrant,” and “rich and textured” for easy selections.
Most recently, Princess partnered with renowned Caymus Vineyards to offer the exclusive Caymus Vineyards Winemaker Dinner. Available for $140 per person, the new Winemaker Dinner leverages the expansive expertise of Chuck Wagner, owner and winemaker of the renowned Napa Valley’s Caymus Vineyards, to deliver a five-course menu crafted to complement the tasting notes of his wines. The dinner, available for 12 guests per seating, is offered two to three times per cruise, based on voyage length, and interested guests can reserve their spot once on board.
The complete list of award winners is available in the August 21, 2023 issue of Wine Spectator , available at newsstands July 11, and at www.winespectator.com .

Current Princess Plus and Premium Wine Lists
By OzKiwiJJ , June 30, 2022 in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers

There has been quite a bit of discussion in various threads about the disappointing selection of wines available under the Plus and Premium Fares which, of course, also covers the only wines available by the glass. Those of us who chose these fares based on previous experience of Princess wine list are feeling let down over both the limited selection of wines by the glass, and the very basic quality of those wines, particularly the Plus wines.
Today we had a very constructive and in-depth discussion with Coral's Bar Manager. A significant part of the problem is supply issues. Many of the wines on the previous wine list were sourced through the US where there are now wine shortages. Sourcing Australian wines capable of supplying three cruise ships from now through to the end of the summer season was also difficult.
The bad news is that the wine lists are unlikely to change this year.
The good news is that we feel that our discussion and concerns about the range and quality of the wines were taken seriously, were understood, and were accepted. However the decisions aren't made at ship level but we hope our concerns and suggestions will be passed up the chain to management.
If you have booked a Plus fare on an upcoming cruise you have two choices:
1. Stay with the Plus fare and be prepared to pay extra by the glass for Premium wines, or buy by the bottle at the 25% discount.
2. See if you can refare to the Saver fare and buy your drinks, coffee packages, and Wifi packages individually.

Glad you could finally get a good discussion going and hopefully help all those it applies too. Well done 🥰
Thank you so much OzKiwiJJ for taking the time out of your cruise to discuss this issue with management. It's very much appreciated and hopefully, as you stated, this will be sent up the line to those who do the sourcing and buying of beveridges.
We have recently returned from the 19-23 June Coral Princess cruise. Loved the cruise with the exception of the disappointment at the wine list. Had previously studied the US wine lists and were impressed at the large range of wines per glass so were expecting similar. People have said that the limited wines included on the 'Plus' in Australia were similar to $8 bottle quality at your local bottleshop. Having tried them on board, I think that comment is quite generous - drank more like a $5-$6 bottle wines. Very poor. Even though we are not usually Merlot drinkers, the Masterpeace Merlot we found to be the best of the poor selection under $16. We tried to order an $18 above the Plus cap (Tasmanian Pinot Noir) knowing that we would only be charged the difference, ie. $2. Unfortunately we were charged the full $18. A trip to the Service Desk confirmed it should have been $2 charge and they corrected it quickly. Please check your account often as we had to have drinks removed daily (once 9 on one day that we hadn't even ordered) that should have been covered under our Plus packages. They corrected at Service Desk quickly but you shouldn't have to call there daily. Never had a problem with anything ordered through the App. I note though on the App, the more expensive Premier Package per glass wines were not listed for ordering. You would have to order in person at bar or dining room. I feel that those drinkers who enjoy spirits or cocktails would get good value from the Plus fare - however, I will consider taking wine if convenient and paying corkage.
I will attempt to download the dining room wine list that covers all wine - as found on the App under menus in the explore dining section. This didn't appear to be the same as the paper version in the dining room - would be good to know if the Austrian and French under $16 glass were actually available. As a side note, in the dining room on the desert menu, there was one port (Portugal) and one imported late harvest desert wine available under the $16 cap. The port was not that good, but appreciated it being offered just the same.
However, we really appreciate you OzKiwiJJ making the effort to seek out and have a constructive discussion with the relevant staff member. Thank you.
No, those wines are not available by the glass in the MDRs. I'll post the current MDR lists below.
Sabatinis wine list.
Thanks OzKiwiJJ. We have the Plus Package again and will try some of the Premier Wines from the dining room list and pay the 'difference' using our OBC. Hopefully by next year, the list will have expanded considerably if enough wine lovers give them feedback and supplies are restored.
Thanks Julie for doing this. Supply is obviously a problem, but we shouldn't be penalised for cruising in OZ
We are cruising on NCL later this year and they have had a change in their T & C's for bringing on wine. We have the Beverage package included, so no corkage payable if we bring on our own. Maybe they are having supply issues too, and want to keep their passengers happy.
For those with any Beverage Package but who have a preference for a specific wine that NCL does not provide on board there has been a major Ts&Cs change.
Wine & Champagne Policy
Guests may bring bottles of wine and champagne on board. When bottles are brought on board and served or consumed in any restaurant, public room area or in their stateroom, a corkage fee will be charged according to bottle sizes noted below.
750 ml Bottle: $15.00 USD
1,500 ml Magnum: $30.00 USD
Wine or champagne sent directly to the ship by travel agents, friends, family, etc. or from another retail source, are subject to the same fees. Box wines are not allowed on board.
Corkage Fee is not applicable to guest with beverage package.
Let us hope that supply problems are sorted by the world 2023 cruise There is only 1 cider and that has a lime taste added urg no white zin etc very poor selection for us but we will get tasters before we order the final glass each

Not on Princess. You only get charged the difference in price here.
They have the two page 'rules' of the beverage package at the service desk, and on second page clearly states only the difference will be payable on drinks over the $16 cap if buying more expensive drinks.
We ventured into the land of Premium wines tonight.
The Leasingham Riesling was very pleasant and went well with our seafood appetiser.
The Henchke GSM was gorgeous.
Rolf said the Shaw + Smith Chardonnay was a touch overoaked for his taste but he enjoyed the Noble One.
good to know, so on the plus pkge you can get 5 glasses of cloudy bay suave blanc i.e 1 bottle for $30

thanks for that much appreciated
It will be interesting to see once we're on other Princess ships from Australia that if they have a Vines wine bar, will the selection of wines per glass be more extensive. One can only hope.

Yes, $6 extra a glass. That's $6 too much IMHO. 🤣
I grew up in NZ and the Cloudy Bay marketing story was an interesting lesson in marketing. When I moved to Australia, 26 years ago, I was very tempted to try to offer a wine class on the ABCB of NZ wines - Anything But Cloudy Bay! But life was too busy back then, and now I've completely lost touch with the NZ wine industry.

Majestic has Vines but Grand doesn't. Who knows what the wines will be like.

For those who prefer custom-made programs and more free time in the cities of their choice we recommend a land tour, both are excellent options. To find out more about the differences click here .

Moscow is a Volga River cruise port, Russia's capital and largest city (population over 12,2 million, metro 17 million). Moscow City covers a total area of approx 2610 km 2 (970 mi2). By population, the city is ranked the world's 14th largest. Moscow is one of the Russian Federation's all 3 federal cities - together with St Petersburg and Sevastopol .
Being Russian Federation's capital, Moscow is a major economic, political, scientific and cultural center, as well as Europe's biggest city.
According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the 9th most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to Globalization and World Cities Research Network. It is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world according to MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Moscow is the northernmost and the coldest megacity and metropolis on the Earth. It's home to Ostankino Tower, the tallest free-standing European structure; the Federation Tower, the tallest European skyscraper; and the Moscow International Business Center.
Moscow is situated on Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, which makes it the most populated inland city in the world. Moscow city is well known for architecture, particularly its historic buildings like Saint Basil's Cathedral. With over 40% of its territory covered by greenery, it's one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world. Moscow is the seat of power of the Russian Government, being the site of Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is now the residence of the President of Russia. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are among the several World Heritage Sites in the city.
Moscow has 2 passenger terminals, North River Terminal (Rechnoy vokzal) and South River Terminal. The regular ship routes and cruises along Moskva and Oka rivers are used mostly for entertainment. North River Terminal (1937-built) is currently the main hub for long-range routes along the river. There are 3 freight ports that serve Moscow.
In late-July 2021 the city announced plans to incorporate a fleet (unspecified number) of fully electric passenger ferries into its public transportation network from summer 2022, the goal being to reduce the dependence on cars.
- The boats are designed with length ~22 m (72 ft), passenger capacity 42, modern amenities (Wi-Fi, USB charging points, tables for working commuters), spaces for storing scooters and bicycles.
- Moscow Transport confirmed that two routes (with max daily capacity ~16,000 passengers) have already been mapped out.
- Passengers will be able to pay via bank cards, the city’s Troika card (smart card for travel by any public transportation) or biometric payment cards. Those with monthly/yearly public transit tickets will use the boats at no extra cost.
- The new electric ferry service is up to 5 times faster (in comparison to other city public transports) and ~2 times faster than by car.
Moscow cruise terminal
Moscow's cruise terminal is called North River Terminal or River Station ("Rechnoy Vokzal" / "ÑеÑной вокзал").
The terminal was opened in 1937 and is one of 2 passenger terminals (the other being South River Terminal) of the city's river transport. North River Terminal is the main hub for long-range (including cruise) shipping routes.
South River Terminal (above photo) was opened in 1985.
