Yoko Ono has announced the return to New York City of The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus (Lennon Bus) presented by Other World Computing (OWC), the premier non-profit 501(c)(3) state-of-the-art mobile production facility that provides hands-on creative experiences to students of all ages. The Lennon Bus will visit the city for the launch of the fifth annual Come Together NYC residency on September 13. In keeping with this year’s theme of “activism”, the event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. from the steps of New York City Hall with a “Bed-In” featuring Ringo Starr, Jeff Bridges, iconic rock photographer Henry Diltz, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Speaker of the NYC Council Corey Johnson. The group will come together to inspire student activism in honor of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s legendary non-violent protests in support of world peace.

The City Hall event marks the start of a month long Lennon Bus residency and will feature remarks by student activists, a group sing-a-long of Give Peace a Chance, and fun creative activities for the many students expected to attend from NYC schools where the Lennon Bus has visited in recent years.

Throughout the month, the Lennon Bus will be making stops at schools across the City, working with a new Lennon Bus curriculum titled, Come Together, developed in association with ed-tech start-up Nearpod, to engage students in conversation and creative activities around topics including peace, empathy, immigration and activism.

“John Lennon’s genius and commitment to peace is an inspiration to me and billions of people around the globe, and I am so proud to welcome the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Bed-In at City Hall this year,” said Speaker of NYC Council Corey Johnson. “Now more than ever, it is crucially important that we instill creativity and a desire for peace in our youth. It is my hope that people everywhere will give activism a chance, and in so doing keep this city, this country, and the world moving forward towards a peaceful future – a future I’d like to imagine.”

Visitors to the Lennon Bus will receive an exclusive look at the latest in music products, and audio, video and broadcast technologies, found on board. Students will also hear first-hand about potential career paths from the engineers who live and work on board the multi-million dollar networked facility that travels year round throughout the U.S. Participants will spend a full day developing an original project, creating the music, video, and images needed to take their ideas from concept to delivery.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus presented by Other World Computing ( OWC ), the premier non-profit 501c3 state-of-the-art mobile production facility that provides hands-on creative experiences to students of all ages, has launched the fifth annual Come Together NYC residency.

In keeping with this year’s theme of “activism,” this year’s event took place on the steps of New York City Hall with a “Bed-In” that featured Yoko Ono , Ringo Starr , Jeff Bridges , iconic rock photographer Henry Diltz, Mayor Bill de Blasio and local students.

The City Hall event marks the start of a month-long Lennon Bus residency and featured remarks by student activists, a group sing-a-long of Give Peace a Chance and Imagine led by Rockaway Beach rock band Blac Rabbit, and fun creative activities for the many students in attendance from NYC schools the Lennon Bus has visited in recent years.

RINGO STARR ADDS NEW STOPS TO ALL STARR BAND TOUR

Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band have added new four stops to their upcoming Spring 2023 tour. The newly added dates are May 23rd at Long Beach, California's Terrace Theater; May 30th in Prescott Valley, Arizona at Findlay Toyota Center; June 4th at Woodinville, Washington's Saint Michelle Winery; and on June 10th at Jacksonville, Oregon's Britt Festival.

The latest All Starr Band lineup features such veteran All Starrs as Toto 's Steve Lukather , Men At Work 's Colin Hay , Edgar Winter , Paul McCartney sideman Hamish Stuart from the Average White Band — along with percussionist Warren Ham and drummer Gregg Bissonette .

Ringo told us that at this point this particular lineup of the All Starr's are a fine-tuned and well-oiled machine: ["I feel like we are a band. So, we know each other, y'know, we have a lot of fun, we play well, the songs are great, and the audience love it. But, y'know, sittin' on a plane, sittin' on a bus, sittin' in the van — y'know what I mean, it's all okay . It's nice to get that, y'know? Every time we end a tour, y'know, whatever leg it is, I say, 'Okay, that's it' and then (concert producer) Dave Hart will say, 'Well, what about October?' And I say to the band — 'Do you wanna go (on tour) in October?' And we all say, 'Yes' ( laughs )"] SOUNDCUE (:26 OC: . . . all say yes ( laughs ))

Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band – Steve Lukather, Edgar Winter, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart and Gregg Bissonette – announced they will be playing 12 shows in the Spring of 2024. The tour will kick off May 22nd in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Venetian, where they will do 6 shows overall, it will see them return to Mexico City for two shows at the Auditorio Nacional. Details for the additional 4 shows will be announced soon.

“I’ve always said I’m my happiest when I’m playing with great musicians – and this band is one of the very best. But even so,” Ringo said with a laugh, “sometime during and just after every tour I think ok that’s it – I’m going to stop touring. My family don’t believe me anymore and so it comes as no surprise to them that once again, I’m taking the All Starr Band back on the road! We’ll be doing 12 shows in May and June, going back to Mexico – which I love – and we’ll be doing a bit of a residency in Las Vegas at the Venetian. See you out there and until then I send you peace and love.”

Touring steadily since 1989, this current iteration continues the tradition of playing hits and delighting fans, as well as garnering praise from the press as seen in the reviews below from the last tour this Fall 2023.

Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band Announces Fall 2023 Tour

Ringo Starr 's All Starr Band will hit the road this fall for a U.S. tour throughout September and October.

The monthlong trek will begin on Sept. 17 in Ontario, California, and run through Oct. 13 in Thackerville, Oklahoma. You can see the full list of dates below.

The current All Starr Band lineup features  Steve Lukather , Colin Hay , Edgar Winter , Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart and Gregg Bissonette. The band had to postpone and cancel several 2022 dates due to various COVID infections — including two for Starr — but the drummer is adamant about keeping the show on the road whenever possible.

"I was in Atlanta in bed with the flu once and had to cancel two gigs, that's the only time," the former Beatle told Pollstar . "I love to play. I love an audience. This is a known fact. I keep telling the band, If only three people turn up, we're playing."

Before the fall trek, Starr will kick off his  spring tour on May 19 in Temecula, California.

WILL INCLUDE SHOWS AT THE VENETIAN IN LAS VEGAS AND AT THE GREEK THEATRE IN LOS ANGELES

Thursday, January 12, 2023 – Today Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band - Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Edgar Winter, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart, Gregg Bissonette - announced they will be touring in the Spring. It will be primarily a west coast tour, starting May 19 and concluding June 17. The 20 dates will include shows in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Utah. It will also see Ringo return to the Greek Theatre June 15.    “It’s a new year and here are some new tour dates,” Ringo affirmed. “I love playing with the All Starrs and can’t wait to be back out on the road again with this band. I send Peace and Love to you all and we hope to see you out there.”    Here is the list of tour dates:

Ringo also released EP3 on September 16, 2022 and on November 18, 2022 EP3 was issued on 10” vinyl and blue cassette and accompanied with a new music video, “Everyone and Everything.” On November 25, 2022 Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Live at the Greek 2019 (Roccabella via BFD/The Orchard) was released on Blu Ray, DVD, CD and a special yellow double vinyl. In addition, Ringo created 500 life sized “Peace and Love” sculptures of his iconic hand symbol. These were sold exclusively through Julien’s Auctions to benefit the Lotus Foundation.

The tour comes after the release last September , followed by 10” vinyl and blue cassette editions, of Ringo’s EP3 , the latest in a productive series of EPs. He also created 500 life-sized “Peace and Love” sculptures of his iconic hand symbol, which were sold exclusively through Julien’s Auctions to benefit the Lotus Foundation.

Only two members of The Beatles remain, as both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are not only still around, but they continue to write and record music and even tour. According to an exciting new announcement made by one of their children, the two musicians may have a new collaboration in the works–or at least, they’re slated to appear on the same project as one another.

Zak Starkey, Starr’s son and a drummer, took to Instagram to reveal he has a new charity musical effort in process. He shared some of the details about a forthcoming project, including confirming–or so it seems–that both his father and McCartney are involved.

Starkey revealed that he has recorded a cover of “Children of the Revolution” by the rock band T. Rex, and this is an all-star affair. The reworking reportedly features vocals by Axl Rose, Duff McKagan recorded the bass, and his own father played the drums. The forthcoming cover of “Children of the Revolution” was then sent to Elton John, who added piano to the tune. Slash recorded the guitar on the song.

Starkey states in his social media post that this cover will be auctioned off for charity. The proceeds will reportedly benefit teen cancer–though the drummer wasn’t more specific than that–and no major label is involved. The musician went out of his way to share that one company–which he didn’t mention by name–wanted to be involved, though it was asking for a large share of the funds in return.

Starr’s son also shared that this song, which so far has no release date, is only one small part of his ambitious new project. In his post, he went on to add that “it’s a full album,” though he didn’t share more about how many tunes, if they’re all covers, or much more info. Starkey was kind enough to reveal that the lineup of performers on the set does include “more than one Beatle a smith a pretender, an Ashcroft, an iggy, and many more.”

The fact that he said there will be “more than one Beatle” on the album makes it pretty clear that both McCartney and Starr are involved. He already pointed out that his father lent his talents to the project, and there’s only one musician from that band still making music, so his hint is pretty obvious. Whether they’re actually collaborating, or just featured on the same tracklist, is yet to be seen.

Starr and McCartney last teamed up in 2023. They finished work on a single titled “Now and Then,” which was labeled the “last’ Beatles song. It was created with the help of artificial intelligence, which made it possible for them to use recordings made by both John Lennon and George Harrison before they died. McCartney also featured on Starr’s latest EP.

Ringo Starr, the affable drummer, and former Beatle, has announced a forthcoming 2023 fall tour. The announcement comes mere days before Starr heads out on a 20-stop spring tour with His All-Starr Band.

His upcoming trek begins on May 19 in Temecula, California, making stops in Phoenix for two nights, Las Vegas for three nights, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City before wrapping in San Jose, California on June 17.

The fall string of dates begins September 17 in Ontario, Canada with stops in Atlanta, Indianapolis, Chicago, and Detroit before concluding on October 13 in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

“I just love doing it,” Starr told  Pollstar  recently. “I’ll be doing a lot of peace and love in your city soon, May, June, look me up!”

Tickets for the new fall dates will go on sale on Friday (May 12) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster . Live Nation pre-sale begins a day prior for fans who use access code ICONIC.

Starr’s current band includes Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Edgar Winter, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart, and Gregg Bissonette. Starr, whose most recent release was EP3 in 2022, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 with the rest of the Fab Four.
