But if you're anything like me, when embarking on a long haul flight, style usually goes out the window. Sitting in a pair of tight denim jeans and ankle boots during a seven-hour journey in economy? No, thank you. Luckily, there's a solution that won't require you to sacrifice your personal style and will keep you comfy on the airplane. Introducing: The travel wrap. This large, blanket-like scarf can elevate any outfit, and also functions as a cozy swaddle when the in-flight AC feels subarctic.
Wherever your destination, these 12 stylist-approved travel wraps will make the experience getting there all the more comfortable.
Meet the Experts: Nyasia Rudolph is a fashion stylist and creative director based in New York. Jordanna Sharp is a personal shopper and stylist based in New York.
When shopping for a travel wrap, go for cashmere, advises New York-based fashion stylist Nyasia Rudolph. "It's warm, cozy, and always elevated." You really can't go wrong with this best-selling pick from J. Crew. Slightly lighter compared to other brands, it can function as a regular scarf, too, says New York-based personal shopper Jordanna Sharp.
Not only is it 100-percent cashmere (read: it's buttery soft), but the material is also ethically sourced from Mongolia to ensure the welfare of the goats, farmworkers, and the local environment. For an added personal touch, the brand gives you the option to monogram your wrap, too.
Rave Review: "I like how this wrap isn’t overwhelming when tied as a scarf yet is still warm and cozy enough for the movie theater or airplane when unfolded."
This classic (it's in the name, duh) pick from Mersea is perfect for all your traveling needs. Large enough to serve as a blanket and keep you warm during those long flights, yet stylish enough (uh, look at those fringed edges) to still look great even if you're running on two hours of sleep. What's more? This best-seller comes in a matching travel bag for easy storage.
Rave Review: "A must pack on any trip. Fits easily into my bag and keeps me warm and comfy throughout the flights."
"Another cashmere wrap but reasonably priced," Rudolph point out.
At nearly 50-percent off (uh, run, don't walk!), this cashmere travel wrap pick from Bloomingdale's offers luxury without the luxe price tag. Made from premium-quality fibers sourced from local Mongolian vendors, this wrap is uber-soft and the perfect accessory to add to your airport outfit. It's large enough to keep you cozy on the plane, but lightweight enough to wear all year round.
Rave Review: "This wrap is amazing! Very soft cashmere and it came with a great travel bag!"
This pick from Quince is made from a cashmere-silk blend, and it's the perfect lightweight option if you're looking for a wrap that's not too heavy and fits comfortably in your personal travel bag . Available in eight gorgeous colors, this scarf is stylish yet functional.
Rave Review: "Gorgeous color (navy), whisper soft, and so light but perfectly warm."
This travel wrap from White + Warren will take you from the airplane to the office to dinner. While it's on the more expensive size, Sharp still calls it "a good price point for cashmere." Plus, she says this wardrobe staple is a great value, since "the straight cut design makes it versatile and easy to style with lots of closet basics."
Still not convinced? This pick is lightweight and breathable (making it suitable for every season), large enough to be either a scarf or blanket, and comes in 26 (!) colors—a hue for every outfit.
Rave Review: "I read many reviews about this wrap before ordering. I’m going on an international trip and decided to order and it definitely lives up to the hype. I can’t wait to curl up on the flight with this wrap. It’s so soft and cozy. It will add beauty to any outfit."
If cashmere isn't your thing—or in your budget (uh, raises hand)—this Amazon-favorite cotton wrap is a great option. Made from 100-percent organic cotton, its breathable, soft, and let's not forget machine washable. While it's not large enough to serve as a blanket, it is lightweight enough to fit comfortably in your carry-on and wear year-round.
Rave Review: "Love the look and feel of this scarf! It had a perfect balance of being able to keep me warm during colder temperatures, like when it rained or while on an international flight. I also could wear it when the temperature got a little warmer."
Athleta's Pranayama Restore Wrap is best for the active traveler. It's made from a breathable, stretchy, and sustainable fabric that's perfect to comfortably throw on after a workout. And unlike other travel wraps, this one has sleeves, making it easier to move around in. If you're planning to hit the gym or the trail after your 5+ hour flight (uh, you need to stretch your legs somehow), you'll want to add this to cart ASAP.
Rave Review: "This wrap is unbelievably soft. It feels like you are wrapped in butter. It is warm, wears well, and the available colors are gorgeous."
Talk about a wrap! This one is made up of three yards (!) of fabric. Although it's the size of a literal blanket, somehow it's still chic. (It's definitely giving that meme of Lenny Kravitz walking down the streets of New York City with a ginormous brown blanket scarf—IYKYK.) Pair this pick with a matching monochrome outfit for a cozy, yet stylish airport look.
Rave Review: "I absolutely love this wrap! I’ve bought quite a few pieces from Bleusalt now, and it goes with everything. The wrap is so soft and lightweight yet cozy on cool evenings, or as a blanket on an airplane."
This cape—made from 100-percent baby alpaca—is certified to keep you warm in those cold airplane seats. Coming in four luxurious neutral hues, you can feel comfy during your flights (and, er, layovers) without sacrificing aesthetics.
Rave Review: "Lovely cape. Perfect for the plane and then to have as a casual wrap. I have it in black and navy."
This poncho can easily transition from a long haul flight to dinner plans. It's large enough to keep you warm under the brisk AC, but chic enough that it doesn't look like you're wearing a literal blanket. Still not convinced? Three words for you: It has pockets.
Rave Review: "Super soft and it has pockets. A little thin, but still nice."
SPRWMN Cashmere Wrap Scarf
While this cashmere wrap is on the pricier end, Sharps says it's certainly worth the investment. It's generously sized, so you can throw it on as a large scarf or cover your body with it like a blanket. Plus, it comes in three gorgeous neutrals, each of which you can pair with a matching sweater from the brand, notes Sharp. It's not a competition, but you'll for sure win the title of "Best Dressed" at the airport.
Alice Walk The Cashmere Wrap
This pick from Nantucket-based brand Alice Walk makes the perfect gift (ahem, for you of course). It's 100-percent cashmere, so you can trust it'll feel buttery soft on the skin. Plus, with its delicate fringe and 15 bright hues to choose from, this piece definitely makes a statement.
"I like to add a pop of color to all of my outfits, to stand out wherever I go," says Rudolph. "Alice Walk cashmere wraps come in every color you can imagine. This would be a showstopper in the airport! I immediately gravitated towards the hot pink and orange reversible wrap."
Rave Review: "I love the quality of the wrap. The colors are vibrant to the eye and yet shows an elegance at the same time. It really dresses the outfit. When I wear my wrap I feel special."
What is a travel wrap?
Simply put, "a travel wrap is a soft, large [piece of] fabric that can be used as a blanket, scarf, head wrap, or shawl when traveling," says Rudolph. It's incredibly versatile and available in a range of sizes and materials, namely cashmere and cotton blends.
What is the best size for a travel wrap?
Ideally, you want the fabric to cover your entire body, or most of it, when using it as a blanket—yet be small enough to function as a shawl and enhance your look without overpowering it, Rudolph notes. She adds that a travel wrap should be about 70 inches long and 30 inches wide.
"Optimum length for a travel wrap would be to your knees," says Sharp. "This way you can wear it long but also have the option to wrap it around your neck without it looking too bulky."
How do I style a travel wrap?
As travel wraps are so simple, yet versatile, you can get really creative with styling. Rudolph suggests pairing yours with cropped ankle pants, a knitted sweater, and your favorite sneakers . "If you plan on going into the office fresh off the plane, try pairing your wrap with wool trousers [and] a turtleneck, and draping it over your body like a shawl," she adds.
During a long travel day, you might consider styling your wrap with leggings , sneakers, and an oversized blazer "for the perfect cool, yet comfy travel look," says Sharp. Another simple tip: Coordinate the color of the wrap with your outfit, Sharp suggests. This keeps your 'fit looking uniform and chic.
When shopping, try to stick to versatile, neutral colors like brown, gray, shades of beige, and black, Sharp advises. "As it is a heavier piece, you want it to feel as elevated as possible."

An Ode to the Cashmere Travel Wrap
Want to know the secret to looking effortlessly chic on the go? JS Style + Travel Editor Jackie Homan believes the answer lies in one simple accessory.
Style + Travel Editor | Instagram @jackiehoman | jackiehoman.com
See recent posts by Jackie Homan
The first time I remember seeing one, I was a teenager. It was my first long-haul flight, from my hometown of Cincinnati to Paris, and I was wearing black yoga stretch pants and a bright green school spirit sweatshirt, focused on comfort in the only way my 17-year-old self knew how.
It may not have seemed like it from my PJ-like garb, but I was super interested in fashion at the time—my suitcase was full of silky patterned shirts and bedazzled ballet flats I couldn’t wait to strut around the city in. However, my proclivity toward style was ultimately trumped by my desire to stay as snug as possible in my small economy seat for the nine-hour journey ahead. Little did I know, there would be a cozy compromise sitting right beside me.
To my right sat another teenager—a French girl decidedly more glamorous than me. This was the prime age of comparison and self-consciousness, and so naturally, I studied her outfit with intent. Several years later, while I don’t remember what my seatmate looked like, I can vividly recall the object of my bewilderment: her cashmere travel wrap . It functioned as a scarf, a shawl, a blanket—an ensemble-completing accessory that looked chicer than I could ever imagine looking. With that one piece in her possession, she seemed to know the secret to style.
While most trends have changed drastically since that time—I parted ways with my glitzy flats long ago—the cashmere travel wrap has remained a classic, especially for travelers. For one brand, White + Warren , the Cashmere Travel Wrap has been a bestseller for over 20 years.
It’s easy to see why the piece has withstood the test of time. The fabric is about as soft and luxurious as it gets; the versatility makes sense for those who wish to pack lightly; and the silhouette is simple enough that I don’t foresee it ever being viewed unfavorably. With a cashmere travel wrap on board, you never have to worry about the cabin temperature being too chilly, and it’s thick enough to rest your head on as a pillow in a pinch. If you’re traveling in chillier months or to a colder climate, it’s a key accessory throughout the whole trip. And if you’re visiting a more conservative city or religious site, it’s simple to throw on and then stash in your tote.
While I may never totally embody that timeless French je ne sais quoi in my everyday style (I’m a sucker for trends that I’ll inevitably look back on with horror), I can now say, cashmere travel wrap in hand, that I’ll at least look the part on the plane.

Cashmere travel wrap: a guide to luxury travel.
Cashmere travel wraps have become a must-have accessory for travelers who prioritise comfort, style, and versatility. A cashmere travel wrap is a type of shawl or scarf made of the finest cashmere wool that provides warmth, softness, and elegance.
Here, we'll explore the world of cashmere travel wraps, their benefits, and how to choose the right one for your travels. We'll also discuss different ways to style your cashmere travel wrap, how to care for it, and how to use it while on your travels.
Whether you're planning a long-haul flight or a weekend getaway, a cashmere travel wrap is an essential item that will elevate your travel experience. So, let's dive into the world of cashmere travel wraps and discover how this luxury accessory can make your travels even more enjoyable.
What is Cashmere?
Cashmere is highly regarded for its softness, warmth, and lightweight properties, making it an excellent choice for a travel wrap. This luxurious fabric is made from high-quality cashmere, which is obtained from the under-belly and neck of the 'Capra Hircus' goat in the Himalayan region.
The fibers are incredibly fine, measuring only 10-14 microns in diameter, making them six to eight times thinner than human hair. This fine texture contributes to the wrap's incredible warmth-to-weight ratio, making it a perfect accessory for keeping warm during long flights or chilly evenings.
Due to its softness and durability, cashmere is also highly prized for other travel items such as gloves and scarves, and it remains a beloved material for its luxurious and practical qualities.
Choosing the Right Cashmere Travel Wrap
Choosing the right cashmere travel wrap can be a daunting task, but with Signature Cashmere, you can rest assured that you're selecting from only the finest quality materials. When searching for the perfect cashmere travel wrap, there are a few things to consider.
First, you'll want to look for high-quality, tightly woven fibers that are soft to the touch and durable enough to withstand frequent use. It's also important to consider the size and weight of the wrap to ensure it will fit your travel needs.
At Signature Cashmere, you'll find a wide range of cashmere travel wraps to choose from, including lightweight options for warmer climates and thicker, more insulating options for cooler temperatures. Some wraps may feature additional design elements such as Cut-Fringe or Reversible , so you'll want to consider the style that best fits your preferences.
With Signature Cashmere, you can trust that you're investing in a high-quality, luxurious cashmere travel wrap that will become a staple in your travel wardrobe.
Styling Your Cashmere Travel Wrap
A cashmere travel wrap is a versatile and luxurious accessory that can be styled in a variety of ways. One of the most popular ways to wear a cashmere travel wrap is as a shawl, draping it around your shoulders or neck for added warmth and comfort. You can also wear it as a poncho or cape, belted at the waist for a more structured look.
When it comes to pairing a cashmere travel wrap with different outfits, the options are endless. It can be worn with jeans and a t-shirt for a casual look, or dressed up with a cocktail dress for a more formal event. For a stylish and practical travel wardrobe, consider packing your cashmere travel wrap in a neutral color such as black, gray, or beige, as these colors will pair well with a variety of outfits. With its timeless style and practicality, a cashmere travel wrap is a must-have item for any traveler looking to stay comfortable and stylish on the go.
Caring for Your Cashmere Travel Wrap
Caring for your cashmere travel wrap is essential to ensure it lasts for years to come. To clean and care for your cashmere travel wrap, it's recommended to hand wash it in cool water using a mild detergent or cashmere shampoo. Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach, as they can damage the delicate fibers.
After washing, gently squeeze out the excess water and lay it flat to dry, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. To maintain the quality of your cashmere travel wrap, store it folded in a drawer or on a shelf, and avoid hanging it as it can cause stretching and misshaping. It's also important to avoid rubbing or wringing the cashmere as it can cause pilling or damage to the fibers. When wearing your cashmere travel wrap, be mindful of sharp jewelry or accessories that can snag or pull the delicate fibers.
Using Your Cashmere Travel Wrap on Your Travels
Using your cashmere travel wrap on your travels can add an extra layer of comfort and style to your journey. When packing your cashmere travel wrap, fold it carefully and place it in a protective bag to prevent it from getting damaged or snagged.
You can also use it as a pillow or blanket on long flights or car rides. When exploring a new city, you can wear it as a shawl or scarf to keep warm and stylish while sightseeing. For a more casual look, you can wrap it around your waist as a skirt when visiting the beach or pool.
To stay comfortable and stylish during your travels with your cashmere travel wrap, consider layering it with other travel essentials such as a cosy sweater or comfortable leggings. You can also mix and match your cashmere travel wrap with different accessories such as hats or gloves to create a variety of looks.

White + Warren Teams Up With The Met Museum on Cashmere Capsule
The limited-edition collection is made up of 10 cozy styles perfect for museum visits this winter.
Every item on this page was chosen by a Town & Country editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy.
White + Warren is ushering in 2024 with its biggest collaboration yet: a limited-edition collection with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
"We really leaned into the idea of the cashmere crewnecks serving as a token of good luck and prosperity for the start of the new year," Catherine Morrissey, President of White + Warren, tells Town & Country . "The tapestries were chosen for their symbolism and then replicated in intarsia-knit cashmere. The dragon featured in the Dragon Tapestry Crewneck, which draws inspiration from a 15th century tapestry housed at The Met Cloisters, is a symbol of protection. The swan depicted in the Coat of Arms Embroidered Crewneck represents the harmony and inner beauty we would attribute to that animal."
The new capsule also includes embroidered cashmere beanies emblazoned with The Met’s vintage Renaissance M logo, which ran for 45 years beginning in the '70s, as well as White + Warren's cult-favorite (and T&C -loved !) travel wrap .
"The Cashmere Travel Wrap is an iconic White + Warren style—it’s been around for most of our 26-year history and we reintroduce it each season in new colors. It felt like this amazing full-circle moment to be able to see the two come together in such a contemporary way," adds Morrissey. "We hope that this capsule collection captures the same sense of discovery and inspiration a visit to the museum might bring."
The White + Warren x The Met collaboration, which ranges in price from $195 to $445, is available to shop now on WhiteandWarren.com and in the gift shop at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Check out the collection here.

We only recommend products we love and that we think you will, too. We may receive a portion of sales from products purchased from this article, which was written by our Commerce team.
A few years ago, I literally bumped into Alexa Chung in the bathroom at Heathrow Airport. Even more than her stunning bone structure and gracious, extremely English apology, I was struck by the immense, cream-colored cable knit scarf wound around her neck; and from then on, I vowed never to embark on a journey without bringing along an immensely cozy scarf of my own. Equal parts security blanket, neck pillow, and accessory, the best travel scarves are made of soft, cuddly fabrics to keep you warm while in transit, though they’re not so bulky that they won’t fit in your carry-on if you choose to remove yours. Versatility is key, too. The ideal travel scarf can be repurposed into a blanket, wrap, or hood — whatever it takes to keep you comfortable in your seat.
Of course, you should also feel inclined to wear your scarf as an accessory when you arrive at your destination, so make sure the one you choose complements your travel capsule wardrobe . Finally, consider the climate at your destination. Beach vacations call for fabrics like viscose or cotton that keep you warm on the flight, but are breathable enough to wear on the ground; for a ski trip, you can opt for an unabashedly cozy scarf , like one made of wool or cashmere.
Complete your comfortable travel outfit with any of the best travel scarves, listed ahead.
This Clever Infinity Scarf With Hidden Pockets For Your Valuables
Thoughtfully designed with both comfort and security in mind, this travel scarf contains two hidden, zippered pockets where you can store valuables like your passport, credit cards, and hotel key. Snaps at both ends allow you to wear it as an infinity scarf, regular scarf, shawl, or makeshift hood, so it’s super versatile, to boot. Amazon reviewers rave about the buttery-soft feel and thick yet breathable knit material that keeps them cozy on the road — and confirm that the pockets are surprisingly roomy and virtually invisible. A+ across the board.
- Available colors: 2
A Classic Pashmina For Warm-Weather Travel
A classic pashmina , like this one from Calvin Klein, is the ultimate summer travel scarf, as far as I’m concerned. It’s lightweight and breathable, so it’ll keep you warm but not clammy. Plus, you can easily tuck it into your overstuffed travel bag, and since the viscose material has a naturally rumpled look to it, it won’t look messy if it creases a bit. This silky-soft scarf comes in 11 colors, like the sophisticated slate gray (printed in a tonal logo pattern) pictured above.
- Available colors: 11
A More Affordable Pashmina That’s As Smooth & Soft As Real Cashmere
According to its several thousand rave reviews, this fine-knit pashmina looks, feels, and drapes like real cashmere, so no one (including you) would believe it costs less than $15. Plus, the colors are sumptuous and true to the images online, not cheap-looking, so you can feel even more confident about getting one — or two — before your next trip.
- Available colors: 19
A Buttery-Soft Shawl Scarf With A Playful Tassel Trim
A punchy plaid print and fringed hem elevate this wrap scarf from a functional layering piece to a bonafide outfit-transformer — it’ll make your standard joggers-and-sneakers travel outfit feel a lot more polished. Of course, it’s incredibly cozy, too. One Amazon shopper wrote that it feels more “plush” in person than it appears to in the images, and another mentioned that it works overtime as a throw blanket tossed across their living room chair. If green isn’t your color, you can choose from eight other colorways, including a black-and-white buffalo plaid and a red tartan that’s perfect for holiday-season travel.
- Available colors: 9
This Versatile Poncho You Can Also Wear As A Scarf
With its discreet arm openings, generous size, and drapey, sweater-like material, this piece can be worn either as a poncho, a scarf, or a wrap; then, when you get to your plane or train seat, you can toss it over your lap as a blanket. A blend of wool, nylon, and acrylic strikes a nice balance between breathable and cozy, so it’ll become a staple in your transitional wardrobe, too, whether you’re at home or in the air. Choose from six elegant colors, like camel and cream.
- Available colors: 6
An Oversized Shawl Wrap That’s Like A Wearable Blanket
Some journeys call for a step up from a basic scarf and straight for a glorified blanket, precisely like this piece . It lands in some unspecified location along the poncho/shawl/wrap/scarf/cape/blanket spectrum: There’s a defined neck (cape?), semblance of arm holes (poncho?), and generous drape (blanket?), but the reversible, color-block design offers the illusion of structure and endless styling possibilities. It’s a must for long-haul flights or trips to chilly locations.

A Lightweight Infinity Scarf That Packs Beautifully
This infinity scarf is made of a fluid jersey material, much like an extra-soft T-shirt, so it’s an ideal choice for summer travel. Beyond that, it’s an absolute dream to pack. It folds (or rolls, if you prefer the KonMari packing method) into a relatively compact square that tucks neatly among your things. No matter if you’re not particularly neat about it, though, as it’s clinically incapable of wrinkling. Amazon shoppers confirm that it holds up well in the wash — another important consideration in a travel scarf — so you’ll get great mileage out of this affordable piece.
- Available colors: 16
This Oversized Scarf In A Cozy Plaid Print
Everything about this scarf is peak coziness, from the large-format size (it measures 59-by-59 inches), to the autumnal plaid print, to the fuzzy-soft material that’s basically made for nuzzling against your cheek. The square shape is conducive to repurposing as a blanket, shawl, or wearing as a scarf in several ways. It comes in 26 plaid and tartan prints in varying colorways, so you’re guaranteed to find one that suits your wardrobe.

Editor’s Pick: A Luxurious Cashmere Scarf That’ll Stand The Test Of Time
If you’re in the market for an investment piece, consider this luxurious cashmere scarf from White + Warren. It’s a go-to for our own Commerce Beauty Editor Adeline Duff , who raves about its supremely sumptuous feel and extra-large size. Though it’s pricey, the 100% cashmere construction is of the very best quality; and since it’s so versatile (you can wear it as a scarf, blanket, or wrap all year long, whether you’re traveling or at home), you’ll get excellent use out of it for years on end.
- Available colors: 5
You Might Also Like: This Impossibly Soft All-In-One Travel Set
This may look like an assuming little pouch , but tucked inside, you’ll find every accoutrement you need for a comfortable journey: A satin-lined eye mask, socks, and multipurpose wrap, all made of Barefoot Dreams’ signature plush, ultra-cuddly material. The pouch itself can be used as a pillow when you stuff the blanket inside. Or, better yet, stuff it with that scratchy airplane blanket so you can cuddle up in that divinely soft wrap.

These Cozy Travel Wraps Are Guaranteed to Upgrade Your Next Flight
Posted: February 29, 2024 | Last updated: February 29, 2024
I'm not calling myself a travel expert, but I'm not not calling myself one, either. Spontaneous call from my BFF to meet her in Miami ? Abso-freakin-lutely. A trip abroad to Switzerland , France , or Italy ? Bank account be damned! Let's just say I'm a frequent flyer and have developed my fair share of travel hacks . I know the best all-around suitcase brands , the carry-ons that fit the *most* for when you can't check a bag, and which luggage tracker will ensure your clothes don't get lost, but my newest (and arguably greatest) obsession? A travel wrap—i.e., a versatile shawl, oversized scarf, or poncho that doubles as a chic blanket on the plane, a stylish wrap during the evening, or an extra layer at your destination.
Big, cozy, and versatile is the name of the game when it comes to travel wraps, but the key to choosing the right one for you is to consider where you're going (hi, weather), what you'll be doing, and how you're getting there. To help you out a lil, I rounded up my favorite travel wraps—which I have personally tested and reviewed (yes, rlly!)—that'll suit any vacation, whether you're hitting the slopes, the beach, or have an overnight flight. And I'd be remiss not to mention that this purchase may be the sign you needed to book your next vacation—if that's the case, here are some Cosmo must-visit recs too, I gotchu.
Now, for the rest of the goods, keep reading to find out which 12 travel wraps made our list. These bbs check all the boxes from coziness to size to versatility. Happy shopping and happy traveling—in as much comfort as possible!
1) Oversized Cashmere Wrap
If you're looking for the quintessential travel wrap that checks all the boxes, look no further than this cashmere bb from editor- and tester-loved brand J.Crew. It's the perfect oversized style that works great as a blanket on an airplane, an extra layer underneath your winter coat, or a chic little wrap on top of your summer evening dress. Did we mention it's made of ultra-soft cashmere? Yes, pls.
- Material: Cashmere
2) Shawl Wrap
Ahhh, say a warm hello to the super soft scarf/blanket/poncho/wrap that has garnered over 1.5 thousand five-star reviews on Amazon. The materials are silky-soft to the touch, have sun protection (SPF 50), and the wrap itself is available in two different feels, both made from the same fabric: (1) cooling, soft tencel, or (2) fuzzy, cozy cashmere. One is better for cooler climates, and the other for warmer—choose based on your destination.
- Material: 95% Tencel, 5% Spandex
3) In Flight Poncho
This poncho-travel wrap-duo is the most oversized, long, cozy piece of clothing you can purchase for ultimate comfort on your next trip. It's basically like a giant blanket transformed into a wearable piece of clothing complete with armholes, ultra-large pockets, and, for the ultimate touch, an attached scarf when you want to snuggle up just a little more.
- Material: 65% Polyester, 35% Viscose
- Colors: Fig jam, stone moss, navy blazer
4) Baby Alpaca Square Edge Cape
I love my Cuyana travel wrap because it instantly elevates any outfit. When I want to feel put together or have an outfit that needs just one more additional layer, I throw this on. Think of this option as a cape: It's similar to a cardigan-style, sans the sleeves, making it much more versatile so it can be used as a blanket, folded up as a pillow on a flight, or as a chic touch to your nighttime look.
- Material: 100% baby alpaca
- Colors: Camel, black, light heather gray
5) Pashmina Shawl and Wrap
I'm gonna be real with you, this travel wrap from Amazon looks v similar to a lot of the pricier options, without, well, the price. It's available in a million and one colors, and feels so soft to the touch, you'd think you spent a lot more money on it than you actually did. But my favorite part? The super cute tassels that add that extra stylish touch to the wrap.
- Material: Wool
6) Cashmere Travel Wrap
This incredibly luxe cashmere travel wrap from White and Warren may be pricey, but I can promise you it's absolutely worth the investment. I own this wrap in a light gray color, and I have managed to wear it/grab it/look for it every time I need an extra layer on the plane or out and about. It's so lightweight, so you won't feel like you're wearing anything, but it provides so much comfort and warmth at the same time—it's truly a travel game-changer.
- Material: 100% Cashmere
7) Featherweight Cashmere Silk Frayed Edge Scarf
Figuring out what to wear on a summer night is kind of tricky—you need something that'll keep you warm in the evening when that crisp breeze hits while avoiding anything too fuzzy and heavy. That's where this super lightweight cashmere/silk oversized scarf comes in from my favorite brand, Quince. I love to take mine with me to tropical destinations or anywhere I know I'll be dressing up at night—s/o summer/spring weddings.
- Material: 60% Cashmere, 40% Silk
8) Karlie Wrap
When you buy from Naked Cashmere, you know you're getting quality. Every piece that I have ever worn from the brand is made with the softest cashmere and truly lasts the test of time. I love this travel wrap because it's super large in size, yet still feels incredibly lightweight. It's available in classic black, white, and navy, but if you're looking for a lil pop of color, consider the light blue or peach colors.
- Material: 100% cashmere
9) CozyChic Blanket Wrap
Say hi to the warmest, cuddliest, softest of travel wraps: The Blanket Wrap from none other than the iconic comfort brand, Barefoot Dreams. Known for its luxuriously soft blankets, you bet that same energy was brought when this blanket wrap was launched. Snag this bb if you're off to a wintertime vacay—i.e., hitting the slopes—or if you've got a v long flight ahead of you.
- Material: 100% polyester
- Colors: Pearl, smokey blue, carbon
10) UPF 50+ Sanibel Beach Shawl
Yeah, there's such a thing as a swim shirt, but IMO they're not the cutest. That's why I absolutely love this beach shawl that offers UPF 50+ protection, is available in a ton of colors, can be worn on and off the beach, and is also incredibly versatile for use as a travel wrap or sarong cover-up as well.
- Material: 52% Cotton, 43% Viscose from Bamboo, 5% Elastane
11) Pranayama Restore Wrap
Travel wraps are amazing, don't get me wrong, but a lot of times—especially if you're doing a load of active things on your trip—you want some sleeves. This Pranayama Restore Wrap from Athleta is made with super-soft tencel fabric, is made so you can move freely, and is designed with both pockets and thumbholes. Yes, pls.
- Material: 97% Tencel, 3% Spandex
12) Atlanta Wrap
Wheat is my newest obsession. It has the softest, most comfortable, luxe loungewear I have ever tested, and I want everyone around me to get on board. This lil wrap with sleeves is the perfect addition to my travel outfits and everyday wear. If I need a layer for extra warmth or to go over a T-shirt or tank, this bb is my go-to. I bring it with me on all trips because I know I'll find a use for it on the airplane and throughout my travels. If you want something a lil thicker, or have a v long flight, try Wheat's Aspen Wrap .
- Material: Micromodal
- Colors: Black, white
