I have always wanted to see The Eagles as a matter of fact it is a bucket list concert. My very first time going to the see them and I was not disappointed. Three and a half hours of pure music with a small break. I sang along with almost every song the band played. I have gotten used to politics in concerts this was a politics free zone. thank you so much for the break.

One gripe if I have one it seemed like the special guest was Joe Walsh, he played James Gang to Eagles songs. It is a small gripe because the guy is just amazing. One thing I noticed just from being old when the girl came out in the Hotel California set to flip the album she actually did not flip the the album. yes I am old. but it was a great effect.

I would go see them again in 1/2 a heart beat.

What. A. Show! I grew up listening to the Eagles, either on album, CD, or my dad playing his guitar. It was a truly wonderful experience to be able to see them live with my dad and watch his enjoyment of seeing a band he’s loved for so long live. The staging and pace of the show was absolutely amazing and set the tone perfectly, and the graphics and lighting designers definitely did their best work. We were close to the stage and it was absolutely fascinating to watch all the cameras recording the event, as well. The band was exceptional but the team behind them is definitely to be commended for this one! I hope everyone who sees this tour has the same level of enjoyment my family and I did!

Experiencing the September, 2019 Eagles "Hotel California" concert at the MGM was a musical trip into near perfection.

The sound was very good even in our very expensive nosebleed seats.

The place was packed and the audience nonstop in its loud and persistent appreciation of all things Eagles, especially new members Deacon Frey and Vince Gill.

Longtime mega-talented members Henley, Walsh and Smith were true crowd pleasers, as they always are.

Having a full orchestra and an angelic choir from UNLV supporting the endeavor was at times ethereally mesmerizing to the point of enthrallment.

Once again the Eagles have lived up to their reputation as purveyors of musical excellence.

The Eagles announce ‘Long Goodbye’ farewell tour: ‘This is our swan song’

The Eagles have taken it to the limit.

The legendary rock group has announced its final tour, dubbed “The Long Goodbye.”

“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful,” the band said in a statement . “Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round.”

Thirteen shows have initially been announced, with more to come.

“During ‘The Long Goodbye,’ the Eagles — Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey — will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour is expected to continue into 2025,” a press release for the tour said.

The band says “the difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights” may result in returning to select cities for additional dates, if the interest is there.

“Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music,” the group said. “At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

The Eagles are one of music's most enduring acts. Formed in 1971, they have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide and won six Grammy Awards, and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Their album "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" is the bestselling album in history, certified 38 times platinum.

The tour launches Feb. 19 in Portland, Ore., and runs through April 7 in Newark. The group also has a concert prior to the tour launch, with a show Feb. 17 in Lincoln, Calif.

Country Music Hall of Fame member Gill began playing with the Eagles in 2017, joining the group alongside Deacon Frey, son of late Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey, who died in 2016. Gill’s first performances with the band were a pair of bicoastal festival dates , Classic West and Classic East, in 2017. Deacon Frey left the touring outfit last year.

Hotel California has been certified 26 times multiplatinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and garnered the band two of their six Grammy Awards, for record of the year (“Hotel California”) and best arrangement for voices (“New Kid in Town”). The band, which formed in 1971, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

LOS ANGELES , July 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — After more than 50 years of touring, and consistently selling out arenas and stadiums worldwide, the Eagles announced today that their upcoming “The Long Goodbye”  will be the band’s final tour.

Thirteen shows will be initially announced. The first set of dates will begin September 7, 2023 , in New York .

The Eagles’ long-time contemporaries and fellow Hall of Famers, Steely Dan,  will be joining these historic shows and commemorating their own 50+ year career.

Presale tickets and VIP packages will be available starting Wednesday, July 12 for all announced shows. The general on-sale will start Friday, July 14 at 10:00 AM local time.

During “The Long Goodbye,” the Eagles – Don Henley , Joe Walsh , Timothy B. Schmit , with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey – will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour is expected to continue into 2025.

Over the band’s more than 50 years of touring, the Eagles have performed more than 1,000 concerts around the world, accounting for more than 15 million tickets. Eagles’ tours have consistently ranked in the Top 10 of both concert industry publications, Billboard and Pollstar .

In the Fall of 1971, the Eagles formed, pioneered, and personified a uniquely American musical style blending country, folk, R&B, rock, and pop sensibilities, and would go onto become one of the most creatively and commercially successful bands of all time.  In today’s faddish, fractured, rock landscape, the Eagles retain an appeal that transcends both generation and genre, cementing the band’s role as enduring musical icons.

The Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six #1 albums, and topped the singles charts five times. They earned six GRAMMY Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, in their very first year of eligibility, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

The band’s Greatest Hits 1971-1977 is the best-selling album in history, with the RIAA certifying the collection at 38-times Platinum.  Hotel California is the third best-selling U.S. album in history, certified 26-times Platinum.  After its release in 1976, it topped the charts and earned two GRAMMY Awards for “New Kid In Town” and “Hotel California.”

Eagles Join Parade of Acts on Final Tours With a ‘Long Goodbye’

The band, which performed a “farewell” tour in 2003, will begin what’s billed as a last run of dates in September.

Eagles are touring for the last time. Again.

The band, whose country-tinged rock hits in the 1970s like “Hotel California” and “Life in the Fast Lane” made it one of the biggest-selling acts of all time, announced the Long Goodbye on Thursday, booked as the group’s final tour.

The tour — featuring the core Eagles members Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, along with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey (whose father was Glenn Frey, an original Eagle) — is set to open at Madison Square Garden on Sept. 7. That is the first of an initial batch of 13 dates mostly on the East Coast through Nov. 17, with Steely Dan as the opening act. In a statement, the Eagles floated the possibility of longer runs at each venue, saying they would “perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands.” The tour is expected to continue into 2025.

As longtime Eagles fans know, this is not the first time the band has signaled a sunset run. Back in 2003, it embarked on a tour called Farewell I . But there is good reason to believe they may be nearing the end. Glenn Frey, one of the group’s founding members, died in 2016 . Henley, the only member from its founding in 1971 who is still in the band, is 75; in an appearance before a Congressional committee in 2020 about copyright law, he said he was “in the final chapter of my career.” (Or maybe not. Bob Dylan, who is 82, is on a tour planned into 2024 , and the 86-year-old blues guitar hero Buddy Guy is on his own goodbye outing.)

Farewell tours have a way of winding on for years, and can be huge moneymakers. Kiss did its first in 2000 and has had more than a dozen tours since then; its End of the Road Tour started in 2019 and has dates booked through December. Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour began in 2018 and is set to finally conclude this weekend in Sweden, with at least $910 million in ticket sales, according to Billboard.

Among others now on their self-described final tours are Aerosmith, Foreigner, the punk band NOFX and Dead & Company, featuring original members of the Grateful Dead with John Mayer.

The Eagles Announce 'The Long Goodbye' Final Tour: 'The Time Has Come to Close the Circle'

The band's last ever tour begins on Sept. 7 in New York City

The Eagles are soaring one final time! 

On Thursday, the band announced that after more than 50 years of touring and 150 million albums sold worldwide, their upcoming “The Long Goodbye” tour will be their last. 

“Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages,” the band said in an emotional statement.

"The Long Goodbye" tour will feature Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill and Deacon Frey — son of the late Glenn Frey , one of the founding members of the band — and begins on Sept. 7, 2023, in New York City. 

The band said they hoped to see as many fans as possible on the final tour and announced 13 initial dates across America, along with support act Steely Dan .

In their announcement, the band also noted the long, and at times challenging, journey since they formed in 1972. 

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds,” they said, adding thanks to their management team, road crew and backup musicians. 

Deacon, 30, rejoins The Eagles for the final tour after it was announced last year that he was leaving the band after 4 and a half years to “forge his own path.” He initially joined the band in 2017 after his father Glenn died in 2016 at 67 years old.

During an illustrious career spanning more than five decades and six No. 1 albums, the band's 1976 album “Hotel California” and its eponymous title track remain their most well-known and well-loved music. “Every band has a peak, and that was ours,” drummer and vocalist Henley told Rolling Stone in 2016 . 

Despite winning two Grammy awards, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and receiving the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016, the band made it clear that, for them, it’s all about the fans. 

“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades," they said in their release.

“This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”  Presale tickets and VIP packages for 'The Long Goodbye' are available from July 12 for all announced shows. General ticket sales open Friday, July 14 at 10 a.m.

“Good evening, Hollywood-fucking-Bowl!” Paul McCartney exclaimed to the flock of Parrotheads gathered before him. A sold-out crowd had assembled in the famed Los Angeles venue on Thursday to celebrate the legacy of Jimmy Buffett at “Keep the Party Going,” a laid-back, one-night-only tribute show full of eclectic guests.

“I had the great pleasure of knowing Jimmy , and like everyone else on the bill tonight, I said, ‘This is one great man.’ He was generous. He was funny. He’d done just about everything in his life,” McCartney said, before launching into “Let It Be .” It was a song that McCartney said he’d played for Buffett at his home during the final week of his life. Buffett died in Sept. 1, 2023, at 76 after a battle with Merkel cell skin cancer.

Along with the stacked musical lineup, “Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett” featured introductions — some via video, some in person —  from Dolly Parton, James Taylor, Woody Harrelson, Pat Riley, and Dave Matthews. Harrison Ford was there in the flesh.

“There is no other way to say it: There will never be another like Jimmy,” Ford told the crowd, before introducing the Zac Brown Band as “one of Jimmy’s favorite and most-frequent collaborators.” The group jammed through the new track “Pirates & Parrots,” out April 19, and their collab with Buffett “Knee Deep,” with Brown literally taking off his pants to play the song in shorts and a tee backed by Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band.

“Jimmy enjoyed living life more than any person enjoyed living life,” the country star said. “I can remember we were hiking one day and we were heading up this vista and we started talking about music and songwriting and our careers and his life and my life, and death. And, ‘You know, Eric,’ [Jimmy] said, ‘Guys like us, we don’t really die.’ He said, ‘because the songs live forever.'”

“And this one will,” Church said, as the opening chords to “Son of a Son of a Sailor” rang out over the Bowl and an image of a sailboat drifting along the water was projected on a screen behind the musicians. Later, a projection of the Arc de Triopmhe appeared behind Jackson Browne as he sang his stirring rendition of “He Went to Paris,” one of Buffett’s greatest cuts from 1973’s A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean .

In the latter half, the set list shifted to songs that Buffett wasn’t exactly known for: Snoop Dogg took the stage for a performance of “Gin and Juice,” alongside psychedelic visuals of Buffett in the 2019 Matthew McConaughey film The Beach Bum . And Pitbull appeared to perform his own “Don’t Stop the Party” before being joined by Jon Bon Jovi for “Thank God & Jimmy Buffett.”

For the home stretch, Don Johnson — no stranger to pastels and warm-weather vibes from his Miami Vice days — called to the stage “a bunch of guys [they] used to hang out with back in the day” and introduced the Eagles . Led by Don Henley and Joe Walsh, the California icons played their own miniature set featuring Henley’s “The Boys of Summer” and the band’s “Take It to the Limit” and “In the City.” The Eagles hung around to back up McCartney on the Beatles’ “Let It Be.”

Paul McCartney was the obvious headliner of the bill Thursday at the Hollywood Bowl. But it was Buffett-mania that was in full sway, as a cast of dozens of singers and celebrity presenters — from Jane Fonda to Snoop Dogg — saluted or parroted a fallen musical hero for the three-and-a-half-hour “Keep The Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett .”

Most of the night’s entertainers covered Buffett classics or obscurities, although McCartney, the Eagles and Snoop Dogg broke with that to regale the full Bowl house with their own material, while Zac Brown and (sending in a video contribution) Dave Matthews debuted brand new songs saluting Buffett.

Souther, Angelique Kidjo, Zac Brown, Jake Shimabukuro, Jake Owen, Jack Johnson, Scotty Emerick, Mac McAnally, Caroline Jones and the unlikely cross-genre pairing of Pitbull with Jon Bon Jovi.

“Hollywood-fucking-Bowl, come on!” exhorted McCartney, no stranger to the venue. Settling down, the former Beatle said: “I had the great pleasure of knowing Jimmy, and like everyone else on the bill has said, this was one great man. He was generous; he was funny; he had done just about everything in his life. I say he was so generous: I was on holiday with him and I forgot to bring my guitar, so he had his own guitar strung left-handed for me. And then the next time I saw him, he had one custom-made, left-handed, for me.”

“In the last week of his life,” McCartney continued, “I was invited up to his house by Janey… to sing a couple of songs for Jimmy. And he was in a pretty bad way, but he still had that twinkle in his eye. So I thought I’d sing one of those songs I sang for him tonight.” After “Let It Be,” McCartney returned to the stage with the rest of the ensemble, conspicuously carrying a margarita.

If anyone was wondering what Buffett covers he, the Eagles or Snoop were going to work up for the evening, there were no rules about having to interpret his catalog. The Eagles did a mini-greatest-hits set, without speaking about Buffett (Joe Walsh’s “How ya doin'” was the sum total of their dialogue), although some meaning may have been intended in the choice of songs, if we can consider Buffett to have been a boy of summer who took it to the limit.

However, Timothy B. Schmit did get his own number earlier in the evening, recalling the three years that he spent as a member of the Coral Reefer Band at Buffett’s behest in the ’80s, after the Eagles broke up. He sang the cheerful potential-disaster anthem “Volcano,” after bragging to the crowd that it was during that run as a Buffett sideman that he coined the term “parrothead.”

As for Snoop, he was not about to work up his own version of “A Pirate Looks at 40,” but did pipe in with a shared love of recreational whatever. As Apatow said a little later, “I must’ve gotten stoned on Jimmy’s gummies backstage, because I swear to God, I thought I just saw Snoop Dogg sing ‘Gin and Juice’ with the Coral Reefer Band.”

Most of the rest of the night consisted of interpretations Buffett chestnuts. Befitting her status as rock’s perennial saluter-with-the-mostest, Carlile was the only performer of the night other than Coral Reefer Mac McAnally to sing two Buffett covers. She hit both his partying and contemplative modes with back-to-back renditions of “Come Monday” and “Tin Cup Chalice.”

But, she continued, “he was so good to me, and I feel like he was good to me mostly because he knew how much I loved his wife, Jane, who is one of my most precious, precious friends. He would text me and he’d say, ‘This is Jimmy, Jane’s husband, Brandi. I need a favor. I’ve got some lesbians that want to go fishing with you.”… Jane used to call him ‘dude.’ I just so deeply admired the beauty and timelessness and the power of their love story. Jimmy and Jane’s love story is one for the ages.”

Carlile was introduced by Jane Fonda as “a woman that I admire from the bottom of my heart, one of the great American singers who never ceases to surprise us with her style and range, it’s so vast.” But she mostly came to praise Buffett, saying, “Even now, Jimmy has the ability to, like Tinkerbell spread happiness all over. … He was such a generous man, generous of heart, generous of spirit. He loved people and that’s why we love him, because … even through his music, you could feel that.” On the lighter side, she insisted at the top of her speech that “I was actually the one that smoked a bowl with Jimmy on the roof of the Vatican,” and she comically ended it with: “Just remember that about the Vatican roof and everything.”

Harrison Ford got one of the most rousing receptions from the crowd, which led him to playfully snark, “Simmer down,” before getting into his own Buffett story. “Jimmy Buffett was a cool guy,” he said. “I remember one day I had a long, some might say boozy lunch with Jimmy and Ed Bradley for Bradley’s birthday. I saw both of ’em had earrings. So right after lunch, I got my ear pierced. That’s just how infectious Jimmy’s coolness was — infectious enough for a 40-year-old man to spontaneously get his fucking ear pierced.

“And,” Ford continued, “infectious enough to create an entire culture around his music. There is no other way to say it. There will never be another like Jimmy. Usually cool guys ae not that nice. Jimmy was more than nice: He was kind. He was beloved by his family, by his friends, by his crew and his collaborators, and he loved them all back.”

Don Johnson got a bit saltier still in his introduction of the Eagles. As the brother of Jane Buffett, he recalled a special night “when Jimmy was cooking and he made some of the most delicious duck I’ve ever had. The flavors were so strong they were able to break through the insane amount of cocaine that we had done.” After a long laugh, he added, “Aspen in the ’80s.” With a bit more tenderness, Johnson noted, “Jimmy was a great host, but he was an even better friend. He always made sure that everyone was having the best possible time. He lit up the room with his stories. Some of ’em fact, and most of them fiction — and he turned those stories into bestselling books,” Johnson added, before getting emotional as he read an excerpt from a prose passage Buffett wrote at 50, in which he said, “I have always looked at life as a voyage, mostly wonderful, sometimes frightening…”

“And I said, ‘Jimmy, where are you going?’ And he said, ‘I gotta go get certified for the takeoff and landing at the St. Barts airport.’ Now, the St. Barts airport is death-defying. It’s like a controlled crash, and it’s scary. And he said, ‘I gotta go and I gotta get certified; I gotta go do a bunch of takeoff and landings, like 30 of them… You want to go?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, of course I want to go!’ He said, ‘Great, I’ll just go get my stuff.’ And he left the room. And Jane turned to me and she said, ‘Dude, Jimmy has been in like three plane crashes. You’re not going with him.’ So I bailed.”

Later, Apatow got a dig in. “He and Jane, they’re the most generous, wonderful people ever,” said the comic/filmmaker. “I remember once we were in St. Barts and Jimmy said, ‘Do you wanna fly with me? I have to practice landing at the airport 30 times.’ And I said, yeah — and it was fine. He did a good job. The moral of the story is: Will Arnett is a pussy. Get in the plane, be a man.”

Jon Bon Jovi amplified the flying motif. “He’s the only guy I’ve ever met that used to show up to a picnic or a rock show dressed in the same clothes. And each one of us, you know, we walk around and we go, ‘No, I’m a rock star. I’m a rock star.’ Then Jimmy Buffett walks in the room — he flies his own plane to his own show. That’s a rock star.”

Bon Jovi was on hand to do a duet with Pitbull on the latter’s “Thank God and Jimmy Buffett,” a paean that beat the newly minted tribute songs by Matthews and Brown to the punch by decades. Pitbull told the story of how he let Buffett know he’d written a song about him. They ended up at the same event, and he recalls Buffett asking him, “‘What the fuck are you doing in Nascar?’ I said, ‘Jimmy, man, I’m just taking the page outta your book. But crazy enough, Jimmy, I got this song on my phone I’ve been working on for years at this point, which is called “Thank God and Jimmy Buffett.”‘ And Jimmy looked at me with that little shit-eating grin and he said, ‘Now you’re fucking with me.’ So I played it for him right there off of my phone, being one of the only people at that time to have a Blackberry in the whole world.”

Brown debuted his own “Pirates and Parrots,” which he said will be coming out April 19, in addition to performing a cover of “Knee Deep.”

Crow won the crowd interaction award of the night by performing “Fins,” and doing the overhead shark-fin motions that were a peculiar staple of Buffett shows. She did not have to do a lot of research for the routine: As she explained, she had been a member of the Coral Reefer Band for a spell in the 1980s, prior to signing her recording contract.

McAnally and the Coral Reefer Band still managed to be stars of the show, despite all the starpower on hand. Among the choices McAnally turned in were a song he said he had to keep convincing the boss to keep in the touring setlist, which surprised Buffett, since he considered McAnally to be “the Southern Baptist of the band”: “Why Don’t We Just Get Drunk and Screw.” But McAnally said he knew it to just be a great country song, morality aside, “and if he hadn’t become an icon, he could’ve played college frat gigs the rest of his life off that one song.” In honoring the even more irreverent path not quite taken, McAnally did his comrade proud.

Red Square Tour

• - Shop in the glamorous  GUM , once the Upper Trading Stalls, the girst mega store of Moscow which was built over 120 years ago and still operating!
• - Admire the stunning  St. Basil's Cathedral from all sides and go around it as many times as your legs can carry you, no rush. Built to mark the capture of the cities of Kazan and Astrakhan. After construction of the cathedral, the poor architect was blinded by Ivan the Terrible. Guess why? (Hint: the cathedral is really beautiful);
• - Beware of  Lobnoye Mesto (or "Place of the Skulls"). You may want to stay away form this place, otherwise the spirit of Ivan the Terrible may haunt you. Lobnoe Mesto used to be Ivan the Terrible's stage for religious ceremonies, speeches, and important events. Rumour has it people were beheaded on this spot.

Fun Facts about Red Square and Kremlin from our tours

• Red Suare appeared thanks to the... fire. The ffire at the end of the 15th century destroyed all the buildings. After the fire it was decided not to build up the territory. Thus was formed Red Square.
• Assumption Cathedral (located in the Kremlin) is the oldest survived building in Moscow (built in 1474-1479).
• It is widely believed that the Lobnoe Mesto (Place of Skulls or Place of Execution) was intended for executions. Executions were indeed carried out here, but very rarely, because it was considered a sacred place. More often, it was a place for royal decrees.
• After the casting, the Tsar Cannon was initially installed on Red Square near the Lobnoe Mesto and was intended for the defense of the Kremlin. However, it never took part in any wars.
• Tsar Bell lay in the pit for about 100 years.
• During the creation of the monument to Minin and Pozharsky, the models for the sculptor were his own sons.
• Initially the monument to Minin and Pozharsky was located in the center of Red Square in front of the GUM. In 1931, it was moved closer to St. Basil's Cathedral.
• Moscow Kremlin towers were decorated with two-headed eagles for several hundred years since the XVII century. In 1935 it was decided to replace them with five-pointed stars.
• Kazan Cathedral (the one at the intersection of Red Square and the streets of St. Nicholas) was blown up during the Soviet era (1936). In 1990-1993 it completely recreated.
• In 30-ies of XX century it was planned to demolish the GUM. In its place was planned to construct a building for the People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry.
• In the period from 1953 to 1961 the Lenin mausoleum was also a place for the body of Joseph Stalin.
• In May 1987, the pilot-athlete from Germany made an unauthorized flight from Helskinki to Moscow and landed on Red Square.
• In 2005, near the walls of the Kremlin in Nizhny Novgorod town was installed a replica of the Moscow monument to Minin and Pozharsky, but 5cm less.

Paul McCartney toasts Jimmy Buffett with margarita at tribute concert with all-star lineup

LOS ANGELES − In a night filled with wildly eclectic musicians honoring Jimmy Buffett at the Hollywood Bowl Thursday, Paul McCartney captured the range of the "Margaritaville" bard's impossibly wide web of global friendships and joy of living.

Entering the stage late in the "Keep The Party Going" tribute concert, McCartney, 81, spoke about being invited to Buffett's home a week before the party-loving singer/songwriter died of skin cancer in September at age 76.

"He was in a pretty bad way, but he still had a twinkle in his eye," said McCartney, who sat behind the piano to perform the song he had played for his dying friend − the classic ballad "Let It Be." In Thursday's performance, McCartney jammed along with the Eagles and Don Henley .

For the next and final song, McCartney joined music stars − as diverse as Sheryl Crow and Pitbull − for Buffett's signature "Margaritaville," with Sir Paul proudly hoisting a Las Vegas-sized margarita onstage.

"This is a man with a margarita right here," said Mac McAnally, the longtime guitarist from Buffett's Coral Reefer Band, who served as "musical captain" for the evening.

Here's who else kept the Buffett party going in the star-studded concert attended by fans including Al Pacino, Courteney Cox, Larry David and Sean Penn.

Honorary Coral Reefer Sheryl Crow and Brandi Carlile rocked

Crow said she was "an absolute nobody" when Buffett hired her in 1989 to join his Coral Reefer Band.

"I know Jimmy is laughing his ass off," the singer said before breaking into "Fins."

"I need to see some fins!" Crow said, instructing the crowd to put up their “land shark” fins during the song. There were fins on stage, fins to the left and fins to the right.

Carlile spoke of bonding with Buffett over their mutual love of fishing ("that was our language") before belting soulful versions of two classics, "Tin Cup Chalice" and "Come Monday."

Snoop Dogg blows smoke at 'My main man Jimmy B' with 'Doggystyle' classic

Stage presenter Judd Apatow thought it might have been the suspicious smoking going on backstage that was making him hallucinate what he had seen on stage.

"I swear to God I just saw Snoop Dogg sing 'Gin and Juice' with the Coral Reefer Band," Apatow said.

It's true. The rapper and Buffett friend Snoop Dogg performed the classic song from his 1993 "Doggystyle" album in tribute to "my main man Jimmy B," singing the familiar words with the audience in between onstage puffs.

"Last time I saw you we smoked like there was no tomorrow," Snoop Dogg said from the stage before clearing out, leaving a cloud of smoke.

During the wide-ranging musical section that followed, ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro wowed with a solo version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and rapper Pitbull performed his classic "Don't Stop the Party" with four backup dancers.

"He’s the definition of what it means to unite, not divide," Pitbull said of his friend before belting the song he wrote, "Thank God & Jimmy Buffett," along with Jon Bon Jovi.

"He gave me fashion advice and hair tips," Bon Jovi said. “We all think we’re rock stars, but he flew his own plane to his own show. That’s a rock star.”

Friends who were not able to make the concert paid tribute over video, including Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, James Taylor and surfer Kelly Slater. NBA coaching legend Pat Riley laughingly recalled when Buffett was ejected from a Miami Heat game for calling a referee "a Parrothead."

Many friends spoke in person from the stage, including tennis legend John McEnroe, who talked about Buffett watching him play during his hotheaded prime.

"He told me, 'Relax, man,'" McEnroe said. "Of course he was right."

Harrison Ford spoke about "long boozy lunch" with Buffett and "60 Minutes" newsman Ed Bradley.

"I saw both of them had earrings, so right after lunch I got my ear pierced," Ford said. "That's how infectious Jimmy's coolness was. Enough for a then 40-year-old man to get his ear pierced spontaneously and infectious enough to create this world around his music. There's no other way to say it, there will never be another Jimmy."

Of course, the Jimmy Buffett tribute ended with 'Margaritaville'

Naturally, the night's final song brought the entire cast onstage to sing Buffett's national anthem of "Margaritaville."

"Jimmy Buffett would get a big kick out of this deal," McAnally said as the sprawling crew of musicians, friends and Hollywood stars took spots at various microphones. It was like a superstar karaoke, with Crow, Bon Jovi and Henley sharing the microphone for one of the signature "wasted away again in Margaritaville" verses.

By the end of the song, McCartney's margarita was nearly drained. But he was in no hurry to put down the glass as he walked offstage with a smile.

Welcome to the Masters Moving Day edition of SI Golf’s Fact or Fiction, where Scottie Scheffler has a one-stroke lead over Collin Morikawa entering Sunday’s final round.

We’re here to debate a series of statements for writers and editors to declare as “Fact” or “Fiction” along with a brief explanation. Responses may also (occasionally) be “Neutral” since there's a lot of gray area in golf.

Scottie Scheffler showed he was human in playing Nos. 10 and 11 in 3 over Saturday, but recovered to shoot 71 to get to 7 under and take a one-shot lead to Sunday. He will win his second green jacket.  

Bob Harig: FACT. That one-shot advantage might not seem like a lot, but that extra edge might just be what he needed. He recovered nicely from his mistakes Saturday and his presence on the leaderboard all week has seemed inevitable. So does a second green jacket.

John Pluym: FICTION. Scheffler recovered beautifully, going 3 under over the final six holes. But I’m going with Morikawa to win the tournament. He’s improved his score by one stroke with each round, so if he shoots 68 on Sunday, I like his chances. 

Jeff Ritter: FACT. Scheffler entered the week as The Man to Beat and that still applies. He’s hardly a lock—I don’t expect Morikawa to crack alongside him on Sunday—but there’s no doubt this is Scottie’s Masters to lose.

John Schwarb: FACT. Collin Morikawa had an inspired Saturday and will give Scheffler a fight in the final group, but this felt inevitable after Scheffler won the Players and I’m not going back on that now.

Woods shot an 82 in the third round, his worst score ever at the Masters.

One day after setting a Masters mark for consecutive made cuts , Tiger Woods plummeted down the leaderboard with a career-worst 82 at Augusta . An over-par, out-of-contention Tiger is better than no Tiger at all.

Bob Harig: FACT. That Tiger is competing at all given all he’s been through is amazing at this point. He gave his fans a thrill Friday and it wasn’t there Saturday. Perhaps it is now asking too much of him, but if he is to have any chance at competing down the road, he needs to finish tournaments. A solid Sunday would at least be something for him to build on. And Tiger has earned the right to handle this however he chooses.

John Pluym: FACT. I walked the back nine at Augusta National on Wednesday. And after close to 15,000 steps, I said to Jeff Ritter, “I can’t believe Tiger can do this on one leg.” I have more appreciation for him as a grinder than as a great golfer. And I’ll take Tiger in any tournament more than any other golfer in the game. He’s one of the best ever and it’s a treat whenever we get to watch him play. 

Jeff Ritter: FACT. Scheffler-Morikawa could turn into a titanic duel. But every great heavyweight fight needs a compelling undercard, and Woods playing Augusta National on Sunday fits the bill.

John Schwarb: FACT. This is the new normal for the mortal and fragile legend, as one day’s grind can be followed by a mess. And WDs can never be ruled out. But an electricity remains around Tiger that every event would love to have and fans still want to see him.

DeChambeau celebrates after draining a 77-yard shot for birdie on No. 18.

Bryson DeChambeau made two pars over his last 11 holes Saturday, making four birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey but finishing with a thrilling holeout birdie at 18. He may not win this Masters but no one is more exciting to watch in golf.

Bob Harig: FACT. This week has been a solid reminder of all the variables DeChambeau brings. He’s playing with irons that were just approved by the USGA earlier this week and cost a small fortune to build. He lauded a new driver he put in play just before shooting 58 in the final round of the LIV Greenbrier event. He pulled a sign out of the ground Friday. That guy talks a different language sometimes, but he’s entertaining.

John Pluym: FACT. It’s all or nothing with DeChambeau. I love the sound his club makes after contact with the ball. He hits it all over the place but it is entertaining. And I agree we need to be able to watch the best players in the world regardless of what tour they play. He’s basically become the WWE of professional golf. 

Jeff Ritter: FICTION. DeChambeau is great and this week I’ve realized just how much I (and I suspect most of the PGA Tour-following golf world) has missed him. But he’s No. 4 on my list behind Woods, McIlroy and Spieth in terms of exciting players to follow—it feels like anything is possible for any of them when they arrive at Augusta.

John Schwarb: FACT. I was thrilled and a bit wistful at the same time in watching the Mad Scientist on Saturday, remembering how many wild rides he had on the PGA Tour. Can the pro game please get its act together so we can see Bryson more often on network television?

Continuing the theme of increased riches in golf, on Saturday the Masters announced a purse increase to $20 million . Given its stature, this event doesn’t have to keep paying more in prize money—and shouldn’t.

Bob Harig: FACT. The Masters might be the one event where the prize money doesn’t matter. Perhaps that is a silly notion in this day and time, and given how much money Augusta brings in, it is fair to argue that it should pay the players—the reason all that money can be made—their fair share. The Masters didn’t have the highest purse of the majors last year and ultimately might not this year. So what?

John Pluym: FICTION. Should Patrick Mahomes get paid $60 million per year? Yes. Because he’s the best player in professional football. It’s no different in professional golf. The best players in the world deserve to be paid like it and if the Masters can keep increasing purses to reward the best players, they should keep doing it. Let’s face it: A $25 million purse isn’t far off. 

Jeff Ritter: FACT. The Masters can pay its participants whatever it wants. It is, and always will be, the Masters. But Pluym is also right: Next year’s purse will probably crack $25 million. It’s just the nature of the game today.

John Schwarb: FACT. There’s something a little gross about annual increases and the Masters has had them three years in a row, keeping up with the other majors. Want to bet against another bump next year? But the Lords of Augusta could say “enough is enough” and hold at $20 million for the foreseeable future. I don’t think any invitations will be turned down.

NFL season will kick off with a Friday night game in Brazil between Packers and Eagles

The Green Bay Packers will play the Philadelphia Eagles when the NFL holds its first regular-season game in Brazil on Sept. 6.

The matchup in Sao Paulo will mark the first time since 1970 that the NFL has played a Friday night game on the season’s opening weekend.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell already had said in February that  the Eagles would be the home team  for the game. The NFL announced Wednesday which team would be facing the Eagles.

The game will occur at Corinthians Arena, the home of Brazilian soccer team Corinthians. The venue was used at the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

This will mark the Packers’ second international game in the last three years. They played their first regular-season game outside the United States in 2022, when they  lost 27-22  to the New York Giants at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

“We’re looking forward to being a part of this historic matchup against the Eagles in Sao Paulo,” Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy said in a statement.

“We’re excited to play in front of our devoted fans in Brazil and help build upon the international popularity of the NFL and the Packers. We had a great experience playing internationally for the first time a couple of years ago and we’re proud to be part of the league’s continued global growth.”

The game will stream exclusively on Peacock — owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News — and also be available on free broadcast television in the local markets of the Eagles and Packers.

The last time the NFL had a Friday night game on its opening weekend was on Sept. 18, 1970, when the Los Angeles Rams hosted the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Bolshoi Theatre

The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word “Bolshoi” means “big” in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoi’s Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoi’s Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.

If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.

In August the Bolshoi is closed.

The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre

This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.

The Novaya Opera

“Novaya” means “New” in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center

The Opera Center has become one of the best theatrical venues in Moscow. It was founded in 2002 by great diva Galina Vishnevskaya.
